11:24pm: The title there doesn't just mean the time, because I'm supposed to get to bed at a decent hour, but also because I think I fucked up at work today and I'm worried about getting told off tomorrow. :O(

Obviously, I didn't mean to fuck up, but yeah...I thought I was helping out, there's a lot to do with the new financial year and two of the people who were doing item selections are no longer doing it, so there's been quite the backlog with "Suggestions for Purchase". So I figured I'd go in there, and assign any that aren't in the two categories we don't have selectors for right now to their proper selectors. Which I thought I did, but then the person in the team who's been doing them - along with heaps of other stuff - went in and queried where some of the "Suggestions" had gone. I'm sure I didn't move any non-fiction or DVD stuff... but yeah. I'm feeling rather guilty, because my supervisor did say we'd discuss the whole "Suggestions for Purchase" thing tomorrow. But I was all caught up on my Inter Library Loan stuff and I even did the thirty minutes of shelf tidying, but apparently I'd managed to forget that I'm still supposed to be writing processes and stuff. So yeah, that sucks.

When I spoke to Mum about this, she suggested coming into work early (I'm usually like ten minutes late...), unfortunately, I've got my physio appointment, so I'll be coming in an hour late. Which I've told them about, but yeah, dang.

Anyway, that's all pretty crappy and it's coming up on 20 to midnight so I better haul.

The Friday Five

16/2/24

1. Have you ever been the president of anything? Hmm, I don't believe so, I'm not really the leader type to be honest.

2. What do you think is the most important leadership trait? Being the opposite of Donald Trump, basically. In all seriousness though, someone who makes the hard decisions.

3. What time period did you find the most interesting to learn about in history class? I did enjoy learning about Ancient Egypt. Although, I'm a big history buff, so I liked learning about lots of time periods.

4. What's something you think about doing, but you haven't gotten back into in several years? Fortunately, I've managed to get back into most of those things I've been thinking of getting back into. I guess maybe Sim City? Although I've now moved onto Cites Skylines

5. If you could add one more random holiday to February, what would it be?
Um...hmm...I do love a public holiday, but I have no idea! Maybe Leap Year Day, although that would mean a holiday every four years.

OK, better dash!

Goodnight!

11:29pm: I may have mentioned this before, but after the high fatality rate after a fire aboard an aircraft, psychologists decided to test how people would react to needing to escape from a smoke-filled cabin by offering them five pounds. And it worked o.O! People were willing to shove other people over and climb over seats for five pounds! Now I know this was back in the 80s but that's pretty cheap. I'm not gonna knock people over for that much. Like I said up there in the subject title I'd need about five hundred, they wanted you to actually step on people and stuff.

But, cheapskates or not, these tests did have an effect and the changes made to the interior of planes now makes it easier to get off, even if there is a huge amount of smoke, just remember to leave your luggage behind!

In non-air crash investigation related news, I am terribly disappointed to report that I managed to procrastinate too long on apply for some library jobs and now they've closed! Shiiit. I feel like an dumbass! I was somewhat surprised thought that when I confessed this to Mum she told me not to be too bummed, and that the library in question was probably too far away. Now that is true, but still! Also, it was the library M worked at way back when! Not that I think that would have to me an in, but you never know. :OP

Anyway there's still two other jobs that I can apply to - or three if you include the fact that one has two openings, or possibly four if I get a call back from this Library Management company place I signed up to long, long ago which sent me an email about a position that became available! (I think I saw it on the job sites, it's in the city so I'm not sure how easy it would be to get there...) Although all of the aforementioned would mean giving up work with Mrs S and I think only one of them is permanent. Bloody lack of job security and lack of permanence seriously what is this bullshit?

But! with all this going on I better wrap this up here...although note to self, I need to look in to getting my hair cut tomorrow, it's getting a bit long and I imagine it will be very expensive to do on the ship! I guess I could ask Mum about it. I was thinking it'd be nice if my hair looked good for my friends' birthday party on Saturday, although since I'll have to get my hair cut tomorrow I'm not sure if it'll last that long...

Ah well, I've have to figure out that tomorrow, for now bed!

11:11pm: Although my internet suffering should shortly be over - come midnight the new cycle starts, thank God! Although hopefully it won't run out half way through like last time, I'll be watching it very closely! - a new technological problem has reared it's ugly head. My mobile phone has stopped working! I was playing The Simpsons: Tapped Out on it when it locked up, which has happened before and generally restarting it will do the trick. This time though, nothing doing! It seems to be stuck on the loading screen, I took out the battery and put it back in, I left it charging for a bit thinking that maybe it was it being very low that was causing the problem, but nope. I tried clearing the cache from the boot-up screen, still nothing. The only thing left to do, is to do a factory reset, which will probably work but all my stuff is on there! My photos in particular...I think I backed up that file on my laptop, but I'm not sure how long ago.

Right...just checked that they were backed up on 7th January this year. Hmmm...I can't actually think of any super important photos I've taken since then...at least not any I haven't backed up - like my smiley watch for example.

I'll also lose all my SMS messages...boo, but I guess I don't actually need those.

The only things I do need is my appointments which I put in my calendar, but that might be synched with Google so they'll come back once I log in anyway? Also I do believe I get a call a day or two from the different places involved to remind me of said appointments, so I guess that can be sacrificed too.

My contacts though are a different story...I used to save them to my SIM card, but I moved them off so that I could put pictures to most of them. I'm pretty sure doing a factory reset will leave me to have to collect all the numbers again. Shit.

I have left the phone switched off to charge a bit more, since the battery was all but drained, so maybe with any luck that will revive it, because I think I had a problem like this once before and that worked. All in all, though, fuck this noise.

And no Memes tonight because - you guessed it - the internet is slow as shit for another half hour at least.

That's pretty much all I have to say about today...even though other stuff went down, I shan't bore you with the details.

Good night all!

11:05pm: In terms of the keyboard cleaning, I finally managed to get a hold of the compressed air, for only $2.95 too! And I followd the instructions for cleaning and the keyboard no looks a lot cleaner...but the '3', '4', 'e', 'd' and 'c' keys still won't work! Son of a bitch!

And then I got the bright idea to clean my USB keyboard because somehow it got as dirty as Hell with all these crumbs inside it and stuff. However, it did work...and now it doen't, because somehow I managed to damage two of the keys in removing them and when I tried to put them back on the damn things kept getting stuck and are therefore useless.

So, then I tried the other USB keyboard I have, which is this roll up type keyboard which I thought was a good buy except it's too floppy and thus really hard to use the damn keys! So now I'm using the bluetooth keyboard that goes with my tablet, which is my last hope right now. But seriously, what am I supposed to do now? My poor laptop, should I order a new keyboard for it and try to install it? I'm a bit wary of doing that because the last time I did I managed to install the new keyboard well enough, but then the laptop screen ended up having a line through it. Damn. What to do, what to do? I suppose I could buy the replacement keyboard and take it and the laptop to the Computer Repair shop in Dee Why and get them to do the replacement for me. So annoying!

In other news, it was the last day of TAFE and I turned in all but one assignment which I managed to finish during class, but I need to type it up because my handwriting is so bad. I'll do that tomorrow, though.

The big issue with all this keyboard fail is I haven't even hit the 1,667 word minimum target for NaNo today, although I did at least manage to get to 35,000 words yesterday before going to bed. And of course I won't have to worry about TAFE assignments anymore - well once I type up the other one so here's hoping I can catch up!

For now though, here's my NaNoMeter!

8:54pm: Right...to say I'm not really enjoying this experience is an accurate statement, seriously, I'm hating it! It's not that I don't like the people who work there or even the residents - they're all very nice, but the work is just, ugh. I was left on my own a few times to do things and suffice to say I couldn't do shit. About the only thing I managed to do was help a woman change her clothes, and I manged to put her underwear on backwards. But that was way better than not being able to assist people to stand up, or eat their food, or clean them without making things worse.

And there's still two days to go, man...and to add injury to insult, my feet are getting more and more sore earlier and earlier in the day. By morning break it was seriously unpleasant and by the end of the day they were killing me.

At least my friend is enjoying the work, although she keeps worrying about being hopeless, but since we don't work together she has yet to see the fail that is me. I swear I almost cried at two points today I was so hopeless. I couldn't even shave a guy properly with an electric shaver! Shit.

I shouldn't dwell on this too much, it only bring me down...in less depressing news, I made cupcakes tonight, this was ostensibly to finish the leftover buttermilk, but whilst the internet tells me you can freeze that stuff it never comes out right, so actually there was no reason to that, LOL. I've kind of run out of time to make frosting since I need to go to bed so I guess I won't be eating them for morning tea tomorrow.

All I can say is, please God, let me get a library job...or an office job...I begging you.

Keep thinking of me this week!

Goodnight.

11:18pm: Of music with lyrics being used in figure skating programs, it's a new thing they brought in this season and it just feels wrong. Honestly, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I find it very distracting...this sort of thing has been allowed in Ice Dance, but that's dance man. It's like having lyrics in a gymnastics floor routine.

Bah, change for change's sake pisses me off.

I'm sure none of you have any interest in that, so moving onto other things, I had my volunteering at the library and I did indeed have some soreness from my workout the other day, but it was OK since it wasn't like I had to haul around heavy boxes or anything of that nature.

Shortly before I was due to leave there a big storm came in, with lightning and thunder which gave me pause, but fortunately the other day I discovered that the umbrella I'd thought I'd left on the bus I'd left in the library and I'd put it in my bag. I actually thought I'd left it back here in the Granny Flat, but nope it was in the bag so I was able to get home without getting soaked through.

I also arranged to go back tomorrow to help with the Home Library Service selection but I'm going to have to call about coming in later because Mum needs me to come to Mosman tomorrow to get Dad once he finishes his doctor's appointment. Hopefully it won't be pouring down tomorrow morning... Mum was going to pick me up and take me over to the parental abode tonight, but I didn't want to :OP Hope that won't come back to bite me in the ass.

And now as it's getting late, I best do the meme and wrap this up - I have to be up tomorrow and ready to hit the road!

Shakespeare

Okay, show of hands … who has read Shakespeare OUTSIDE of school required reading? Do you watch the plays? How about movies? Do you love him? Think he’s overrated?

Can't say I have...although my parent's owned (still own) a very comphrensive guide of all things Shakespearean a very good read! But I haven't seen that book for ages though, which is sad... But yeah haven't read any Shakespeare plays or watched any movies based on his plays since school. However, I don't think he's overrated, they're interesting and when performed well absorbing and all that jazz.

Right, well that was an interesting walk down memory lane, but now I gotta wrap this up.

11:34pm: Who used up all that bandwidth on my Grandpa's internet, however, it's not as bad as all that because as it turns out the cycle is from the 22nd of the month, not the end of the month. So he shouldn't run out of bandwidth, especially since he doesn't download that much stuff. Phew! Still, I really dropped the ball on that one, I should have known there was going to be trouble as soon as stuff started downloading on the Sims game. Shakes head, not cool me, not cool.

In other news, M once again proved her status as Canasta Queen, but coming back from the jaws of defeat to snatch victory from me in our game! We started up a new one, but only got one hand done before it was lunch time. But hey a good reason for me to come back and defend my honour. :O)

Lunch turned out to be...er...interesting. M and Grandpa had crumbed cow brains with bacon and salad, and I had a pork sausage with bacon and salad. However, the grandparents insisted I try some of the brains, and...it was groooosss. Ugh! The texture, the taste, so disgusting. I almost spat it out, but I could hardly to that so I had to take a huge gulp of water.

Always be open to try things my ass, worst of all I had this weird sensation in my mouth for hours. Yeah, definitely not going to be trying that again.

After lunch I hung out for a bit reading The Women's Weekly until it was time to catch my bus to Neutral Bay so I could go to church, which I did in good time and that was lucky because the laptop was acting strange, not reading the USB stick the organist had brought in with the PowerPoints on it. I had to restart it to get it to work. Unfortunately, somehow the organist had put the wrong hymns in the PowerPoint, so no-one in the congregation knew what to sing for the entrance hymn! I quickly typed up the words of the other hymn, but not enough of them, so...again the congregation was left hanging. Pft.

Got the bus back here to the flat in good time, although I didn't really have a proper dinner. Shame on me. I did have a carrot though, always good. :O) And played more Sims 4! I haven't got used to the new interface completely, and haven't seen what's the whole career thing is like, but hopefully I'll get a chance to do that tomorrow. And show you all the photos of the goodies I got as part of my Collector's Box Set. The plumbob USB thing is fabulous!

And...I've just noticed the time! Yikes, almost midnight, I better wrap this up because bed is calling, tomorrow is Father's Day and Mum, Dad, little bro and I are going out somewhere.

So, I shall be off! Goodnight all!

10:53pm: On the couch here in the flat, basically I've been sort of leaning on my right arm while having the laptop resting on the right arm of the couch. Looking at this in hindsight I should have seen that this would quite possibly result in a painful shoulder from putting all my weight on it. So now it is sore, boo. Oh well now I know better than do that again.

In other news, I went to the library for my volunteering today and it was great! The Inter-Library Loans lady is really nice and wants to help me get the sort of experience that will look good on my resume. Plus, you know, I love this kind of work. I'm going in tomorrow too before I have to go to the doctor about vaccinations and then onto the gym to cancel my membership before I head back here to the flat. Phew! Sounds like quite a day to be sure.

Hmmm, not much else to say, although I played along with Jeopardy tonight and finally won, so to speak, because I knew the answer to the Final Jeopardy question and the two guys who were waaay in the lead didn't and bet a whole lot! And I scored higher than the actual winner on the show, so yeah, I'll say, go me.

Also, when looking on the ice skating boards I saw a post about Australian ice skating - which we don't have many of, but there's a Junior girl coming up who looks pretty good, which is a surprise because Figure Skating's not big here. Although the Macquarie Shopping Centre Ice Rink is usually well attended. Last time I went I saw some ice dancers practicing, alas there were no twizzles to be seen. Anyway there's a skating competition over in France tonight Australian time but I won't be able to stay up for it, I hope the Aussie girl does fabulously.

Moving along, Meme time before I get ready for bed:

Mystery

Do you read mystery novels? If so, why? Is it the mysteries themselves that appeal to you? The puzzle-solving? The murders? Or why don’t you read them? What about them doesn’t appeal?

I do love a murder mystery novel! I didn't use to when I was very young. Although I did read a couple of Agatha Christie's my father had which I enjoyed even though I couldn't figure out the murderer or if I did be damned if I knew the motive! But I really got into Agatha Christie novels in my 20s and I'm currently in the process of collecting all the books through fortnightly magazine/book collection. All of the books have reproduction of the original covers, which is especially cool.
Anywho, what appeals to me about them is the process of trying to solve the mystery, even if I don't manage to solve them myself.

And that's pretty much all I have to say for today - oh I washed my towel and the husband of Mum's friend down in the main house was nice enough to put it (and my other towels and miscellaneous other stuff) in the dryer because I was out volunteering at the time. Although that reminds me that I said I'd so some ironing, yet another thing to fit into the schedule tomorrow!

Wish me luck with that!

8:59pm: Which is not breaking news, but I'm watching a program on TV that is reminding me of that fact even moreso. The current Government wants to screw over the budding renewable energy sector in Australia, all for the sake of the Big Coal companies, total bullshit, man, total bullshit.

To say nothing of how we're treating aslyum seekers. Ugh.

Although, I wonder how I can help, I feel I should put my money where my mouth is, get a job helping with aslyum seekers, but I don't actually know if there's any paying jobs in that sector. Maybe I can volunteer in that capacity or something.

Anyway, enough politicking, I'm here at my grandparent's house, which is why I'm watching this documentary and M and I played Canasta this evening, although we didn't get to finish our game, I'm currently kicking ass. However, best not to get ahead of myself, M did win the last hand quite thoroughly and caught me out.

Speaking of getting ahead of oneself, I dare say the commentators last night might have jinxed the Fed-Ex, alas he didn't win. :O( Despite a rather good start too...although as I found out while watching the news tonight that the Joker almost took the match in four sets, but Fed-Ex pushed it to five. Oh well, he still holds the Wimbledon record jointly with Pete Sampras...whatever happened to that guy?

What else to report? Not much, tomorrow I'm accompanying M to the community library where we'll be hearing from an indigenous speaker, which should be very interesting. Plus, there'll be morning tea, so they'll be yummy things to eat, including lamingtons! M is bringing them, Grandpa got them at the shop, including ones with cream, although there's none of those left. Oh well.

That's pretty much all I have to say for now, so I'm going to roll my eyes at this program, or at least the dumbass Liberal politicians on it.

I bid you all goodnight!

11:02pm: Dad ended up taking his new car to work today and it wasn't feasible for him to go by Mum's work and get the BMW, so I ended up having to drive the manual after all. Sigh! I didn't really grind the gears that badly, I suppose...but it was still rather nerve-racking. So much so that I ended up leaving the Macquarie Centre before the last hour of ice skating so I didn't go at all. Sniff. I did sit up in the food court that looks over the rink though and saw some girls being coached and this woman who had to be in her 60s doing a little routine - no jumps - but it was pretty cool.

I was able to see from my vantage point that the rental skates are no longer blue, they're neon orange, ewww, so ugly! :OP It's almost enough to make you want to buy your own pair just to save your eyes. But yeah, no money for that.

I do have to go over there tomorrow though because Dad forgot to take some very important stuff with him. My original plan was to take the bus, because for quite a while the road home is only two lanes - one of which is a 24 bus lane, but Mum thinks I should use the car again. Thinking about it though, I have to go to the apartment tomorrow with some light bulbs and to check the mail and I'd probably be able to catch a bus directly to the hospital where Dad's at that way. So probably not a bad idea after all.

Speaking of the apartment, oh man, there's been a bit of a fuck up re: the phone, when the combined internet, landline and mobile bill arrived in my inbox today I was horrified to see it was for $250! What the everloving fuck?!

A quick investigation of the bill showed the problem...calls from the landline to mobiles. Fuuuuck! I hadn't really thought about that when I called up to bar certain services from been used by the phone. I can't remember anymore if I asked for only local calls to be allowed or if I only asked for international and 1800 numbers to be barred, in which case...that was a stupid fucking mistake on my part. D: All the same, I didn't think phone companies still charged like wounded bulls for mobile calls, God damn.

Anyway, Mum ended up getting involved, although I had spoken to the tenant's daughter earlier and she had been OK with paying the extra amount, Mum though, wanted to make sure that the tenants would know not to call mobiles and apologise for the mix up. Sigh. Plus I still have to call the Spintel people and make sure only local calls can be made! Ah fuck.

Now, I'm here watching I Shouldn't Be Alive, which certainly makes one count their blessings! In tonight's ep a poor fellow fell 20 metres or something while climbing, shattered his pelvis and had to spend four days dragging himself over rocks and stones to get help! Unbelievable stuff right there.

And I guess I should wrap this up and head to bed.

Wish me luck for tomorrow! And man I gotta get on the job hunt for real as well...damn my lazy ass.

So yeah, goodnight!

10:42pm: Well, I do...my lower leg muscles, especially the right one...wearing my high heel sandals yesterday and doing all that walking around was apparently a big mistake. Aw, fuck. It's really made cleaning up my room impossible because going up and down stairs really hurts.

This also means I've been sitting up here on my laptop for waaay too long and my eyes are hurting - I did go out today actually, to my IPL treatment thing and even did quite a bit of walking...which probably wasn't a good plan now I think of it. Still,it doesn't really hurt walking or whatever on flat surfaces.

I also don't have much else to say...I'm watching I Shouldn't Be Alive right now...oh man, these three guys have decided to go hiking in some dangerous ass canyon and you know it's going to go pearshaped (ahem obvious statement is obvious). I think I may have seen this one, there's a cave in and one of them has to cut his own hand off or something.

Honestly though, ignoring the GPS...why bother bringing it along?! Just watching this is making my legs ache in sympathy.

So yeah...got nothing more to say...I really need to work on making these entries more interesting, LOL.

Oh...did you hear? Apparently some of the families of the people on the Malaysian Airlines plane were informed that 'all hope has been lost of finding anyone alive' by SMS?! WTF?! Why would anyone think that was an acceptable way to inform anyone of something like that? Everything that's happened since the plane disappeared has been one giant fuck-up...

In other less fun news my right leg is killing me, the knee, hip and the general muscles...but only the right leg...which is kind of unusual, usually both legs hurt, or at least both knees. Oww, it's most uncomfortable and distracting, I sure hope it still doesn't hurt tomorrow, because I've got work! Gulp!

There's also the assignment...I've almost finished, except I really don't have enough references, which I've mentioned for the past few days, but I don't know what to do about it, I mean I don't feel like just stuffing quotes and whatever in for the Hell of it. Plus I have trouble enough finding references as is. Grumble grumble.

And to add further insult, Mum and I's favourite house show Homes Under the Hammer isn't on tonight, booo! Although I guess I'll be going to be earlier than usual. This would generally mean I'd be getting up early for some gym action, but I did say I wouldn't go until my assignment was done, sigh.

I plugged it in and the light is flashing, but I don't know if it still works. And I put stuff on it that I wiped off my other laptops. Oh no...what if it's lost forever. 11:03pm: The say bad luck comes in threes and all at the same time, which seems to hold true for me. :O(

Bad luck the fist - Looks like there's no library job for me
Bad luck the second - Cut back to two days at week at the office job
Bad luck the third - A DOOZY! I was out today handing out resumes and looking at the model apartment at the new building that's going up across from my old University when I got a phone call.

From Centrelink...

And get this in April 2012 just before I got the office job I realised I'd been underreporting my income, so I called them up and correct the record. At the time I asked if I'd have to pay back money, and they said they'd get back to me on that.

Cue SIXTEEN FUCKING MONTHS LATER just when I'm in a hole moneywise Centrelink's Debt Recovery Office calls and says I owe them $458!!!!

FOUR HUNDRED AND FIFTY-EIGHT DOLLARS!

Apparently there's a payment plan I can enter into, but if I do...I'll have nothing..at all, to live on. Unless I go back to my parents.

Oh, or I can go on the New Start Allowance and then only pay a tiny amount each week.

Can't even believe this. I mean, come on, this isn't fair...I mean I know I wasn't entitled to that money, but there should be a limit on how long they can come back and collect. I mean for example, last December when I lost the newsagency job and got cut back to three days at the office, I was struggling and used nearly all my savings. Can I call them up and ask for retrospective low income allowance? I don't think so.

And...the show I'm watching just decided to show someone throwing up, my emetophobia is not as bad as it was, but it's still anxiety provoking. For fuck sake, that was unnecessary and further pisses me off.

Today has not been very good to me :O(

Here's hoping tomorrow is better. I'm going to the Laser Clinic to start the treatments on my chin and lip - hmpf maybe I'll can get Mum to pay for that since I can't afford it! And drop off some more resumes.

And maybe go to Centrelink, perhaps I can get a concession card for half-fares on public transport at least. And a letter so I can suspend my health insurance without having to recieve waiting periods and stuff like that.

And since it's too late to start on the Memes, I shall leave it here.

Please send me your good mojo and best thoughts! I've got to the end of the year to get out of this hole!

7:10pm: Yep, I totally exceeded myself in fucking my shit up today. As you may remember from yesterday I mentioned that I needed to get up a bit earlier than usual tomorrow so I could pick up my Birth Certificate from the Post Office before heading to work.

But not only did I not get up early...I got up late...really, really late. I'm supposed to start work at 10:30 am, the time I woke up? 11am.

I couldn't believe it! I grabbed up my mobile and called the Newsagency right away, as you can guess the boss wasn't too pleased to hear my story. I said that I'd come in as quickly as possible - I'd even call Mum to come pick me up (although as I later found out, that wouldn't have been possible), but he told me not to bother because and I quote "there's plenty of other girls chomping at the bit to get extra hours". This is just awful. My job as a cashier requires no special skills and there's other employees who work there who are no longer in school anymore. This basically translates into no job security whatsoever and I could very well go to work next Monday to discover I'm not needed anymore.

Worst of all in the short term is that I've lost $158 in pay. My budget situation is so tenuous this means that I'm going to have to dig into my savings unless a) I somehow manage not to shop for food for the next six weeks (yeah, no) or b) get some extra shifts at the newsagency (most unlikely thing ever after today's cock up).

And worst of all is this all could have been avoided if I had only double checked my mobile phone before going to bed that my alarm was set. Turns out that I had set it on Tuesday only, which is why it didn't go off.

Fuck man. This is something which has happened to me in every job I've worked for...failing to set my alarm and waking up late. You think I would have learned? But no. Although this is the first time I've been told not to come in at all.

To add to the bad news I haven't heard from Manly Library yet, they didn't say for sure they'd call on Monday, but I'm not feeling all that hopeful.

And I didn't eat a proper breakfast and all this stress made my IBS flare up in a bad way, but it seems to have settled now. I hope... I don't need this BS.

Ugh! And to further add insult to injury I haven't touched my NaNo today, this wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't so far behind on it, but I can't really...afford not to. But I suppose I'll just have to see if I can get the muse to wake up at all.

On that note, I'm wrapping up this tale of woe. I should go onto my Uni website, the last subject I need to do for my Masters starts today and there's all ready info posted up about it. At least I can not fail at something.

ETA 11:55pm: Did at least manage to get some writing done...so it wasn't a complete loss of a day. :O/

22374 / 50000 words. 45% done!
anonymoose_au: (Oh Save Me Jeebus)
10:59pm: OK, that's a little dramatic, but there was a fuck up this morning when I went to boil an egg and accidentally pressed the wrong button and turned on the wrong hotplate. Unfortunately for me I'd left the plastic banana carrier box I bought last week (to keep my banana from getting all squished and bruised should I take one to work) on that very plate. What really sucks is as I pressed the button I thought to myself that it was the wrong one, but I convinced myself it wasn't.

Then I didn't noticed what had happened until I heard sizzling looked up and saw my poor banana holder starting to melt! Well, suffice to say I got across to the stove top and picked it up quick smart. Sadly though there's a huge hole in the holder now, boo. I've decided not to throw it out thought because it still opens and closed, plus I'm having money issues.

Yes! Despite my extra work days this month, I couldn't afford to pay my levies before the due date, which was yesterday, what a fuck up. I have been spending a bit, but I didn't think it was that much. :O( I did discover part of the issue today when I was going over my budget to see what happened, basically the gas metre people couldn't access my apartment (because they want you to hang around all day to let them in like you don't have a job) so the gas company estimated my usage based on what comparable single person residences use. And I don't know what those people are doing, but their bills are almost twice as high as mine! What a rip off! Now I called the Gas company who will adjust my bill once I submit my metre reading, but still. :O(

I've also discovered that contrary to my belief I don't think I'm actually saving money by keeping my old style Foxtel...looking on the website, it seems that for a one off $75 fee I could upgrade to the Foxtel IQ box. Hmpf when did this happen? I may have to investigate that further once I get my budget situation under control.

And no more big purchases! Although I did wear my new black and white peplum top and a black skirt to work today, I looked most corporate indeed and my co-workers commented on it. Embolded by this I'm going to wear the sailor suit inspired dress - hopefully it won't be too cool, it was warm today, but yeah...

Still, it'll be a relief when the tablet keyboard arrives, it's not impossible to type on the screen, of course, but I don't think I'm getting the best of my Writer's Group that way! Although I think I got about 200 words done tonight, unfortunately for me I didn't plug my tablet in properly to charge it so it ran really low and I had to leave. Also that time o' the month has finally showed up and I was rather uncomfortable, so I wasn't there as long as I usually would have been.

Now, I should be off to bed, because sleep is needed, so in closing, remember to keep your stove top clear of plastic at all times!

Goodnight all!

10:36pm: Hey, I found a new mantra! Plus it's accurate, I've been maligning the schools for far too long. :OP

And there'll be much to blame on them, especially because it seems I spoke to soon re: the make-up of the Senate, the balance of power senators appear to be mostly right-wing. Pathetic.

And I realised something today, something most unfortunate, I'm working at the newsagency tomorrow. Ugh, the papers...especially the Telegraph. Speaking of the owner of that paper was the big fury provoker of today. Rupert Murdoch was born in Australia and then buggered off because he didn't like paying tax. He's on Twitter and today he posted this smarmy comment at which point I wished I could reach through my tablet and smack him in the face. I had to settle for tweeting back and telling him to move back here and pay some tax and that he's a disgrace to journalism. Seriously, what an ass and where does he get off moralising? He was behind the tapping the phones of murder victims!

And to think his mother (who died earlier this year) was one of the greatest philanthropists in the country. Pft.

Anyway, I better stop lest you all defriend me due to my ranting.

Plus, I have Memes to catch up on! )

And yikes! Look at the time! I have to get up early tomorrow so I can go to the gym before work (which is why I'm still here at the parentals) so I must be off!

Unconscious Mutterings will happen tomorrow.

Goodnight!

Fuck

Sep. 7th, 2013 10:30 pm

10:12pm: Australia has done it again.

They voted in the Liberal Party. Fuck I haven't been this disappointed in my fellow Aussies since Joh Howard got back in.

In commemoration of this event, here's the greatest summunation of these events from our 26th PM

www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6Vw7tQztpk

However! There is hope, the Senate, which I can safely say the Liberal Party will not be getting control of that. Which apparently may well result in Abbott having a hissy fit and calling a Double Dissolution election because he's a fuck-face who can't stand not getting his own way. I hope that actually happens and he gets his comeuppance.

I feel quite down though so I'll leave off the memes because it'll just be a whole lot of swearing and bitterness.

And now I can no longer watch the news because it's hard enough watching the Liberal Party on the Opposition Bench, seeing them back on the Government bench, ugh!

Oh and I finished Pinkie Loaf Mach II. Yay.

And I so goodnight.

11:30pm: Yes indeed...I probably should stop, especially since it almost made me late to work today! D: I managed to get there in time, but only by catching a taxi across the Bridge to the bus stop. Ugh. I'm glad I got those extra days of work, but seriously what a waste of dough!

But I'm watching Medical Emergency and some dude has just come in with what's probably broken bones from leaping out the window so he wasn't late to work! That's some fail right there, man.

But anyway, back to the Pinkie Parade, I have created a new plushie, which is the same as the Fluffy Pie, but with fleece instead of the fur, it's come out very well indeed if I do say so myself! I haven't done the hair yet though, I sure hope I manage not to screw that up because that would be just suck.

But yes, I'll be working on those finer details tomorrow, for a bit at least, I'm back to have Tuesday's off, but I don't want to get to the gym too late tomorrow, especially since I promised Mum I'd cook lasagne for everyone tomorrow.

Plus, it's going to be the debut of the new machines at the gym, I'm looking forward to it, since I've used those machines before and they'r really funky.

And as time is getting on, I should be off.

Goodnight all!

10:08pm: Sadly no, as evidenced by the fact that I stuffed up my tablet so badly trying to root it that I had to do a Factory Reset! I didn't lose anything important however, except for one thing...

The My Little Pony game.

Yes that's right, I lost ALL my progress! ARGH! Fortunately there's a way to get gems so I should be able to complete it once again, but still! Fuck up, man, complete fuckup. Oh well, at least I can have some fun doing the old quests again...although sadly for me I won't have any Christmas Trees or whatever.

Eh.

Also that did fix my problem with the new update...where by my game had 'string not found' written everywhere instead of what should have been written! Hmpf, rude!

But I'm pretty sure I'd backed up the pictures I had on it, plus I did get an adorable background for my...well it's not a desktop...tablettop I guess.

In other news, the party last night whilst small was lots of fun! At Mum's insistence I actually drove there and back of course. I was a little anxious a few times, especially on the way, but I did it! And even drove a friend to the bus stop down past my parents place so he wouldn't have to catch tow buses and take hours, so that was good.

And today I met up with the other friends who have come to Sydney for a visit, one of them from all the way overseas! We did have a bit of trouble finding somewhere to eat because we original met in North Sydney which is dead on the weekends. But we ended in Crows Nest at a nice cafe and it was a very good catch up indeed!

And later on this evening Mum took me home over the Bridge and I managed to stay quite calm, fingers and toes crossed people! Fingers and toes crossed! She gave the apartment a 9 out of 10, so yeah it all worked out! Except of course for the fact I managed to leave my mobile phone behind in the car, do'h! Mum's going to drop it off at work to me.

So two outta three ain't bad...

Also daylight savings as ended, which means it's an hour earlier than I think it is,having said that though I should make sure not to stay up too late! With that in mind, I shall do the Memes!

Memes Please! )

And eek! It's later than I thought, see how time gets away from you?

On that note then, I'm heading off! Goodnight all and wish me luck tomorrow!

Bus Fail!

Mar. 11th, 2013 11:26 pm
anonymoose_au: (Whoops)
11:09pm: So I'm here at my grandparents house, but alas it wasn't easy getting here, primarily because I somehow missed my stop on the bus and by the time I realised it I was somewhere I'd never been before! I got off the bus and attempted to walk to the retirement home having looked up Google maps on my mobile, but after walking for 10 minutes it was starting to get dark and I was getting worried so I had to call M to come and get me! Since I'm here to help her this was really very embarrassing. I can't figure out how I missed the stop! The only thing I can think is that it didn't go by the correct stop after all despite what my phone app said.

But in the end it all turned out all right as I got here and we had yummy cutlets and veggies for dinner and I had ice cream for dinner, niiiice.

Anyway, the appointment with the psychiatrist went pretty well, he doesn't think Xanax or an equivalent medicine would be a good idea, although he did agree that taking Dexamphetamine in the afternoon before I have to catch the bus back over the bridge could help, especially since I seem to be able to get over the Bridge in the morning when I've taken them. Also, I have to focus on the deep breathing thing! I often forget to do that and it really helps. He even did a bit of hypnosis on me.

And I just got in trouble with M for staying up too late, so I better wrap this up here. A helpful presence I am not! D:

Goodnight.
