11:41pm: Just a quick update to wish myself a Happy 41st Birthday;

Considering it's 20 minutes to midnight I can safely say I have indeed had a most happy birthday complete with cupcakes I made myself!

Work is finally settling down after the start-of-year-closed-for-a-fortnight rush - wipes brow. Although I do have my weekend shift tomorrow so I really need to get to bed at a reasonable hour.

Although I remain in the grasp of the addiction that is The Sims 4. Seriously, Maxis/EA created digital crack here.

Anyway I gotta run, but yeah whoo, Happy Birthday to me!

Whoops...

10:27pm: Sorry for the lack of updates lately, but fear not you haven't missed anything exciting from me :OP Same old same old really, aside from the Time and Motion thing we've been doing at work. As I think of mentioned it's proving to be a bit of an ass because I don't really work in that manner, so it does stress me out a bit.

Meanwhile my house remains an utter mess, I really gotta do something about that especially because in November there's gonna be an inspection because the Strata Committee has hired some company to look for any defects. Since I'm not on the committee I have no idea if this is because people are having issues or because the apartment building is over 5 years old now. The builders are on the hook for most things for a five year period once the building is finish, but that would have been earlier this year (I moved in as soon as the place was finished in 2019), but who knows. So yeah, definitely got to have the place looking like a proper human lives here, LOL. Although, there's the winter garden to consider...I've got quite a bit of stuff out there as well. Dang.

In other news I've been wanting to catch up on those Friday Fives, although I'm not entirely sure which was the last one I did so I must have left off updating for longer than I thought LOL... but I think I've figured it out now so let's get to it!

Friday 5

13/9/24

These questions were written by Dreamwidth user zenigotchas.

1. What's the strangest, unexplainable incident you have experienced or have heard of? Does the Orange Thing getting elected President of the USA count? Because that's some crazy shit right there. In all seriousness, I don't think I've ever experience anything truly inexplicable personally. Some stuff you read about the Bermuda Triangle is pretty out there though, like that squadron of planes that disappeared, where did they go? Spooky.

2. Which mythical creatures or cryptids do you think are most likely to exist or have existed? Hmm... maybe the Yeti or Big Foot? They could be the missing link between humans and the great apes. There's probably not any of them around anymore though.

3. If you became a mythical figure how do you think you'd be portrayed? Umm...hmm...the Messy One, all hail chaos :OP

4. What animal do others find creepy that you find cute? I think octopuses are pretty cute...although that's mostly cartoon ones XD Although after our office at work was rearranged there were these photos from a competition that we could hang up and I was voted down in my choice of a underwater photograph of a striped octopus which I thought was pretty cute, but my office colleagues did not care for at all!

5. What is your favorite lost civilization? Can't go past Atlantis! I really enjoyed that Indiana Jones game about it that Lucas Arts released back in the 90s.

26/9/24

1. Most everyone will recommend a book or two to read, but are there any you would tell people to avoid? Well certainly not anything "written" by the Orange one. All kidding aside, I probably wouldn't recommend Twilight or 50 Shades, because they objectively suck.

2. If you take a book on vacation, are you more likely to take something you haven't read yet or an old favorite? Probably something I haven't read yet, although these days I read rather slowly so it might take me longer than the trip to finish it!

3. Do you read any genres by the season? Like horror around Halloween? Cozy Mysteries in the Winter? Romance in the Summer? Nah, although that kind of sounds like a fun idea...

4. If you read a lot of Fiction do you prefer an author that has a series with the same character(s), or do you prefer stand-alone stories? Definitely, the first one, I like to get to know a character and see how they develop over a period of time in stories. :O)

5. Is there a book that you wish you could read again, but experience it like it was the first time? Hmm...that's a toughie...I feel like there's so many books like that for me! Maybe the first Agatha Christie book, because that was such a hard puzzle that I couldn't figure out and then it all came together so awesomely!

Right, so time is getting on and I've got archery tomorrow (I've decided to join the club and even purchase my own bow and arrows) and then I'm picking up Grandpa and driving over to my parents place for lunch, so I should make sure I get enough zzzs.

Oh and it's too late in California, but Happy First Travelling Through Time Day to all my fellow Backies! :OD I should try and get another McFly July prompt up before 5:04pm tomorrow. We'll see how it goes!

Goodnight all!

11:28pm: Yep, this morning I woke up at 8:22am and was rather confused because I was pretty sure it couldn't be the weekend yet and of course it wasn't, it's only Wednesday! So yeah, there was a mad dash as I hurried to have my shower, get dressed, eat breakfast and get to work. Breakfast in particular was a problem because I somehow managed to miss the loaf of bread that was sitting right in front of me and instead made do with cereal and a tiny bit of milk that didn't cover even a third of it, so it was pretty dry.

Anywho, I managed to make it into work no later than usual and in fact earlier than I did on Tuesday, LOL, which was still 10 minutes late which I was a little worried about because we're doing that Time and Motion study - I think I mentioned it - where we keep track of everything we do all day. Technically I'm on a flexible time schedule so it should be OK, but I dunno.

Anyway, I did some good work today! Most of the team were at the training I went to a few weeks back for most of the afternoon, so I didn't have any interruptions, so that was handy :OP

So...I've been meaning to do the Friday Fives, problem is I keep starting these entries too late, so even though they are up, I don't actually have time to do them because yeah, you gotta sleep! I blame The Sims 4 for this.

Oh well, you can only do your best...

I still can't believe I missed that loaf of bread though, LOL.

Goodnight!

11:59pm: OK, so I've slacked this week with the whole updating thing and though I'm starting this update before midnight I'm not gonna finish it before the day ticks over!

And I'm still behind on The Friday Five, but tomorrow is the morning tea at Mum and Dad's retirement village and I have to deliver my cupcakes by 9:30am (or possibly 9am!) so I no time to stay up late.

The weather has totally been all over the place this week, chilly outside, but my apartment is well insulated so I'm quite hot and need to turn the fan on so I can sleep. It's rather weird.

In other news it's the last Junior Grand Prix event and the menfolk are skating now, it's happening in China so I had hopes that the time zones would work out better for me, I did manage to see the whole Ladies SP, but I'll have to turn in before the menfolk finish so I won't know who'll wins until tomorrow. Ah well.

Apart from that not much else to report, except I've been playing Sims 4 all week, Alternate Lady Bigwallet has almost reached the top of her aspiration! Once she does, she and Shea the gardener can get married and have kiddies for the next generation. For all my attempts with Hill Valley in Sims games I've never actually had a full generation before, so this will be interesting. I am kind of missing playing my Woodstone Sims in Sims 3, I'm pretty sure season 4 of Ghosts premiered today, but just taking a quick look, it's actually next week. Phew! :OP

Also it's been busy at work, next week we need to do a Time and Motion Study because the Big Manager wants to know if we're working efficiently or something like that. I'm not sure what to think about that... Changes may be afoot, but our jobs are safe or at least that's what my supervisor says. Fingers crossed I guess!

Right, I gotta get moving. Goodnight!

10:17pm: The good news, I survived the training

Bad news, I have a sore throat and I'm not sure if it's the suddenly cold weather (it was more than 10 degrees C colder today than yesterday!), or from swallowing food in a kind of weird way or if (knock on wood) I'm getting a cold or something. I sure as Hell hope it isn't the latter, because I'd hate to miss work tomorrow, there's still so many boxes to open and books to quality check!

In other news, I'm a bit worried about the left side hinge of my laptop again...a few months ago, it was all loose and I ended up taking it to the computer shop across the road where it turned out that most of the screws of the back panel had fallen out. Once the guy at shop replaced them the left hinge was no longer loose.

But now it is again, except checking the bottom panel of the laptop reveals that the screws are still there, so I have no idea what's causing it...actually no I do, the left side back of the laptop seems to be gaping - not so much that you can see what's inside or anything, but if I press it the hinge goes back into it's normal position. As I said though, I'm not sure why it's gaping because all the screws are in. I wonder if I should take it back to the shop...I suppose I have to, although it does cost 50 buck to get it looked at.

I just took a quick look at the bottom of the laptop again and I'm wondering if maybe one of the screw holes has had it's thread stripped...not sure how that can be fixed though. Maybe I'll just have to put some paper in between the bottom of the laptop screen to hold it up like a chock.

Dang, I say.

Anywho, in light of possibly having a virus, I should get my butt to bed so I can have a proper amount of sleep. Fingers and toes crossed that my throat will be OK tomorrow.

Good night!

10:39pm: OK, I don't actually have a good subject heading for this post, my mother and I have just finished watching our shows, which means I should be getting ready for bed, but I figured I'd post a little update before heading off.

Not much to report, although apparently after a few days of been mostly warm, it's going to be cold and rainy tomorrow and into the weekend, which kinda sucks. I hope it isn't raining on Sunday for archery, as mentioned they apparently only cancel if there's lightning, but I can't really imagine been able to shoot a bow with any accuracy whatsoever with rain pouring on my glasses.

In other news, we've got training tomorrow morning, which sucks, firstly because, training is always a drag, often you get told shit you already know and then you have to roleplay situations an it's all awkward. Secondly, that's 3.5 hours away from my actual work tasks, such as the Inter Library Loans and QC-ing the new items. We're falling behind on the latter again and this training won't help. On the plus side it is only down the road from my apartment, so at least I don't have to go far.

Finally, I did do a Sims 4 session, but ended up not saving because poor Gardner Shea is not having the best honeymoon, I sent him and Lady to the jungle, but he keeps getting attacked by various creatures. When I left the game he was on fire! o.O I hope the game's not trying to kill him off, because seriously, the audacity.

On that note, I better be off, hopefully I might have a more interesting update tomorrow. Good night!

11:31pm: Case in point it's 11:30pm right now and I'm only just starting this entry, whoops!

Anyway, let's keep it quick, work today went pretty well, although a colleague and me got stuck on the desk longer than planned because the rest of the library staff were in this meeting to discuss the future of libraries in general. Luckily it was pretty quiet in the library so it wasn't like we were run off our feet or anything.

However, we did get another box delivery, fortunately it wasn't too big, but we still haven't actually opened Friday's delivery yet, so yeah... better keep on top of that!

After work I went to the gym, which went well, although I'm still struggling a bit with some of the exercises my physio gave me, but I guess that's the point. It does seem to working though, so yay!

Then once home, rather than writing McFly July prompts I got sucked into Sims 4 again (Sims 3 well be disappointed with me :OP), but exciting things are afoot! Lady and her long lost gardener Shea got married! :OD I'm going through this rather more quickly than James did in the original, probably should have waited until Lady was actually rich before she got married, but shrug. :OP

OK, so I better be off, I've been dillydallying waaaay too much in the morning's and it's resulted in me missing the last bus before 9am, which means I get to work almost half an hour late O.o that won't do at all!

(Aw crap, I just realised I forgot to wish a Facebook friend a Happy Birthday, whoops... and also to respond to my mother about the Japan trip...)

Anyway, goodnight!

11:22pm: Yikes, it's a bit late to be starting this entry, but I had a busy day today what with a dental appointment, thought I'm happy to say that my teeth are in good condition and also I got a new smaller case for my splint, which I wear at night to prevent my teeth grinding. My old one broke some time ago and I did get a replacement, but it's like twice the size of the original one and takes up quite a bit of room in a carry-on. The new one is also green, so Hell yeah!

I also tried to do as much as I could during my half-day of work, although I had a bit of an unpleasant moment this morning while waiting for the bus, when I suddenly felt quite dizzy. Eventually it passed, but I have no idea what caused it... I got a bit panicked, but managed not to scratch myself too badly.

Apart from that not much else to report, although I'm watching the Late News right now on ABC and they just had a story about a giant Emperor Penguin chick called Pesto. I mean look at the size of this guy! Apparently, he slim down once he starts to molt, although I imagine he'll stay remain tall? But it'll be interesting to see. Very adorable though. :O)

I also did my laundry this afternoon when I got home from the dentist, except I somehow missed a few socks, which is very annoying, but I'm not sure what to do about that...I just hope I have enough black socks for this week! Having said that, it's rather warm so I might wearing those little sockette things with sneakers because I'll be wearing skirts or dresses.

On that note I better dash, since it's after 11:30 now and I don't want to end up without enough zzzs.

11:08pm: I was going so well too! Although I did have to work today, which meant when I realised how late it was getting last night in between watching the Junior Figure Skating GP and playing Sims 4 I just shut my laptop screen and headed for bed.

Yesterday was most busy at work actually, there were boxes, Inter Library Loans, invoice checking and a desk shift! I had to catch up on the invoices at work today, which I'm not really supposed to do, but it wasn't super busy so I think I got away with it.

Apart from that, not much else to report, I also have to head to bed soon tonight because it's archery tomorrow! I'm really looking forward to it! I hope I can get into the Adbow Kidbow class, I should otherwise I don't think the coach would have mentioned it last week.

Finally, regarding the previous entry and Lady Bigwallet's lip mole, I did end up giving her one, but on the left side rather than the right to indicate it's a parallel universe, LOL, which I thought was pretty smart :OP I wonder if I should post about it on Tumblr or something? Am I allowed to do that, do I have to ask permission first? And if I do would I even be brave enough to do so?

Also to add to the previous entry, the unpicking of my cross-stitch was successful and I'm redoing the beach umbrella in red and white so it doesn't blend in so much with the sky and ocean (not that I've figured out entirely what blues to use with the ocean...)

Right, the ice dancing competition is getting ready to go into the ice resurfacing which takes like 15 minutes, so I'm not gonna see who wins, boo :OP

Also no Friday Five! Ah well...wish me luck tomorrow and hopefully I'll remember to update about it! (I forgot to tell Facebook about last week, guess I"ll have to do two in a row).

11:34pm: Because it takes bloody forever to do and next thing you know it's past 11:30pm and I've only just started updating this thing! Also it's hard on one's fingers... or maybe that's just me :OP

Right, OK, I've put aside the cross-stitch so I'll make this quick, I spent the evening playing Sims 4 with my bootleg Lady Bigwallet, who I realised is missing the mole just above the lip that the actual Lady Bigwallet, LOL, I'm not sure how to fix that or if I should, since this is meant to be an alternate universe, so maybe that's the difference, LOL.

Oops, picked up the cross stitch again...

OK, back on track, today at work my colleague showed me how to quality check the catalogue records of graphic novels, which are a bit more prone to having errors in them than regular fiction books, but this will hopefully make things a bit quicker with the QC-ing, because we do get quite a few graphic novels and when only one person can do them, they tend to build up quite a bit.

Apart from that not much to report, except the Lite n Easy hadn't been delivered when I woke up this morning at the parental abode. At first I thought I'd forgotten to click all the necessary buttons to actually put the order through, but no it turned out that they were just late with it. Fortunately, Mum was around the area this evening so she was able to drop it off to me and in exchange I gave her the spring cake tin, so hopefully her upside down cake will go well.

On that note, I better haul! Hopefully, I'll start tomorrow's entry a bit sooner :OP

10:30pm: Yes indeed, which honestly is probably the last thing I need, because Sims 3 is already plenty addictive without adding a second game to it! But while watching some of the member videos on James Turner's channel, I saw that someone had re-created the gardener, who Lady Bigwallet I was originally going to pursue a relationship, until the game crashed before James could save it and the gardener was lost forever :O( As it turned out someone had also made a Lady Bigwallet I, so I thought to myself...why not download them both and get them together in an alternate world? Which is what I've been up to this evening while at my parents place and it's proven to be most amusing, especially since as James did, Lady has no money, so at the moment she's scrounging around and carrying her bed everywhere since she doesn't actually have a house yet, LOL. I've had quite a bit of luck fishing, but I'm not sure how I'm meant to save up enough money to buy walls...

Meanwhile the gardener - Shea - does in fact have a house, so I guess I could get Lady to romance him and move in, then she could work on getting rich as is her aspiration. They're actually already flirting and it's quite cute :O)

Moving onto non-Sims related news, work was busy today, as it's Wednesday which is Inter Library Loans courier day, also there's a delivery of books to get through...there was also the monthly staff meeting. I have to say I'm not a fan of meetings...although my supervisor always has a treat and this time it was scones! :OD Still you can't work on other stuff at meetings, so...

Interesting enough our increasing workloads were on the agenda, apparently the big boss wants us to do more Collection Analysis and stuff, although currently we don't really have time for that, so some other stuff might have to be changed. I feel like that might end up being quality checking the books, which we're all resistant to because of various reasons. But I guess you gotta do what the big boss says.

Anywho, Mum and I successfully watched all our favourite funny shows, but I should wrap this up now and try to get to bed before 11pm for once!

11:15pm: Yes, indeed, after watching so much of the Bigwallet Marathon and seeing that it's only 6 Aussie dollars a month I decided to subscribe to James Turner's YouTube channel. It does give me access to all these nifty members-only videos, so that's fun! I'm not sure how long I'll stay subscribed, probably not forever though.

Moving on from that, not much else to report, although it's that time o' the month, which is never fun...especially on the second and third day... I'm not sure if I should go to the gym tomorrow especially since I'm working this weekend which means I can go to the gym after work on that day. Having said that though I really need to keep up with my strengthening exercises, especially having gone to see the physio this morning. She gave me some different exercises to do, although I haven't actually done them today, whoops. However, when she went to do the muscle massage thing, I had the worst pain in my glutes, apparently, the whole muscle is super tight, I think my posture is shitty... But yeah gotta work on that because seriously, when she poked that area I almost cried!

I got to work around 10am, so the day passed rather quickly, including the last hour of the day when I was on the desk, since the courier dropped off all the reserves from the other big libraries in our group and man were there a lot of reservations! I barely got through them all before needing to finish up.

Oh yeah...and despite telling myself not to, I managed to forget my apartment keys this morning, but fortunately, Mum was able to drop off the spare set to me after work, better remember to take them back on Wednesday.

And...I've stayed up way to late again, shit, so I gotta go now.

11:31pm: By that I mean, I seem to have lost something...my black cardigan. I know I had it just before leaving the pub last night, but this morning when I was about to leave for work I couldn't find it anywhere! :O( I'm not actually too upset about the cardigan, but I had two badges my boss made for me of Trevor and Hetty from Ghosts.

I asked the work colleague that drove me home if maybe I left it in her car, but apparently not. So I've either left in the pub, or it's in my house somewhere. I took another look around when I got home from dropping off the English grammar book to Grandpa, but still no sign of it. It might still be hiding somewhere, but if not, I guess I'll have to call the pub and ask if it's turned up there and if so, figure out how to get down there to pick it back up.

Anyway, it rather busy at work today, our library supplier dropped off a large number of books for a particular collection of ours called "Read Now", which means we get 25 copies of popular titles that can't be reserved and are only available for 10 days. So I spent most of the day getting those out, because as I said they're popular. One particular title is so we actually changed into regular copies because there's 105 reserves on the title (I kid you not!)

The good news is, I got through them all, even though I ended up having to do an extra bit of time on the desk because one of the branch staff didn't feel well so I had to fill in for them. Go me! :O)

I've spent most of the evening watching the events at the Junior GP of Figure Skating, which is in Bangkok, this means that I've actually been able to watch most of the junior ladies since the time zone doesn't suck. Having said that though, there's still 12 skaters to go and it's coming up to midnight and I'm sleepy so I think I'm gonna have to turn in before finding out who wins. Ah well, guess I can catch up tomorrow - although there is an Aussie lady here and it would be a shame to miss her, I am at least seeing a Kiwi skater, who has a crazy spin - some of these skaters are bendy!

Now, there's possibly a Friday Five, but as I said I'm sleepy so I'm not gonna go look, yawn!

The Kiwi girl did awesome! She's finishing in the top 12, so good for her.

And now I'm out.

10:59pm: Well, not really, but I couldn't think of another subject heading.

The good news, I got plenty of sleep last night so I was feeling much better today! Although that might have also been helped by taking Buscopan this morning and having plain toast for breakfast.

Work also went well, although I did end up missing my bus, so had to take the one that doesn't go directly into the mall, which is always annoying. At least I wasn't super late or anything.

Apart from that not much else to report...except after work and The Chase I went to the shops to buy some groceries and managed to forget the one thing I meant to get, margarine! LOL fail.

So yeeeah...what else to say... well I'm procrastinating on the McFly July 2024 prompts, instead I've been watching James Turner's Bigwallet Marathon and playing along with Bingo card that some fan created.

But yeah I'm feeling super distracted right now, so apologies for this boring as Heck and really short entry. Maybe I'll have something interesting to talk about tomorrow.

11:14pm: Which I put on quite late because I totally forgot about doing it while I was busy making cupcakes for the Old Folk's Get-Together at Mum and Dad's retirement village tomorrow morning. Fortunately, my washing machine has a quick, but efficient cycle.

However, I figured I better give a quick update before it gets way too late... Interesting day at work - so to speak - only me and one other colleague were in today! My direct supervisor doesn't work Thursdays and Fridays and the other three all took the day off. However, I feel like the two of there got quite a bit done with the quality checking the books from the delivery we got on Wednesday. The number of boxes are much more reasonable now, I think I mentioned before, but because of the end of financial year we don't order for like two months, so when July rolls around suddenly there's a surge! But yeah we've got a reasonable amount now.

Of weirder work news, two birds somehow got into the library today - I've worked there for like 6 years now and this has never happened before! Fortunately, they were small birds, but unfortunately they kept flying around and because of the big windows in the library and the height of the ceilings there didn't seem to be any way to get them out! When my colleague and I left the library manager and another one of the branch staff were still trying to get them out through the fire door. Hopefully they managed it! I wonder if I should have stayed behind, it would have meant getting the bus home, but it seemed a bit mean to leave them in the lurch!

Anyway, the cupcakes are frosted and in their cupcake carrier ready to go tomorrow morning, I also got a book that my mother requested I reserve for her so I have to make sure I take that along too tomorrow morning, although apparently Mum won't be at the Get-Together, I think she might be doing Chair Yoga or something.

Before I go though...

These questions were written by Dreamwidth user got_quiet.

1. What is the last shower thought you had (aka random thought in the shower or during downtime) I was just thinking - while watching the pairs free program at the JGP of figure skating how weird the concept of a throw jump is. Who came up with that? And how did they get their partner to agree to such a crazy proposition?!

2. What is the last thing you changed your mind about? Hmm...I have to say I'm rather stubborn and not apt to change my mind, LOL. Nothing comes to my mind right now!

3. What was the last low-stakes argument you were in about? Hmmm...probably something at work about my tendency to ask "What if..?" It's a rather irritating issue I have! It was all good-natured though.

4. What is an idea you have that you know would probably never work, but it would be cool if it did? An equal providing of food to the world, we do actually produce enough food to feed everyone, but it's not equally available which is a real bummer :O( Unfortunately, capitalism makes this idea impossible. Boo-urns.

5. Who is someone who has ideas you like, or take inspiration from?

Hmm...well, one of my co-workers always has good ideas for how to do work more efficiently and what not, which is much appreciated! Also Mum, she always has ideas about how to do things.

On that note, I shall be off, that laundry won't hang itself unfortunately!

Anyway, the good news is the first part of the subject title here is true too! My apartment was clean enough to pass muster with the parental units! Although, maybe they were just being polite, LOL. But hey I also went and bought the pizza and provided mini-Magnum ice creams for dessert. :O)

So yes, a good time was had by all, and the little bro came through getting Mum a present and a card - which totally slipped my mind, so that was well done by him, since Mum only mentioned recently that she enjoys getting a card at least.

OK, so this entry is looking pretty short, but an interesting thing happened today in the Inter Library Loans, a library requested a book that was out on loan to someone and I was about to mark the request as non-supply when I realised...the person who had the book on loan was me! XD So I said I'd supply it and figured I'd just borrow it when it comes back, buuut, it's a short book or at least shorter than the other books I have have on my to read pile, so I'm reading it in the hope I can finish it.

However, I do have to do my Duolingo, and as mentioned it's after 11pm so I should have my butt in bed and I'm not quite halfway through it, ah well, I could maybe just wait for Monday, it's not like the requesting library would know :OP

Anyway, on that note I better head off, although they're at the pointy end of the Mixed Recurve Open at the Paralympics, but I don't think the gold medal match will happen before midnight, I guess I'll have to catch up on that tomorrow. We did have an Aussie team in the competition actually, but we got knocked out in 1/8 round, rather disappointingly since we were in a good position!

I've also just realised that the this week's Junior GP in Figure Skating is probably on, ah well, you can't watch everything.

So on that note, I'm off!

Goodnight all!

11:10pm: Which actually isn't all that good...because Mum and Dad will be over tomorrow night for dinner and it has to be in rather better shape... I'm hoping that giving it a vacuum tomorrow will make it look much better. On the upside, the kitchen should at least be clear, I know that's Mum's particular complaint, how can she clean the counter if there's stuff on it.

My winter garden isn't looking the best I have to admit...but I don't think there's much I can do with it, although at least I'll be able to take the clothes horse down tomorrow since I washed my winter sheets and they're drying on it at the moment.

What else to report? Well, I'm watching the archery at the Paralympics which is proving to be great fun to watch, although sometimes it's hard to tell what disability the competitor has, considering the long pants it's probably leg related.

Anyway, as is common during the week, this is a short entry, but I don't have much to report work-wise, although our library supplier did deliver the boxes today - usually they come on Tuesdays, not sure what the delay was, but it did give us an opportunity to finish off Friday's delivery which is always good.

The Inter Library Loan Courier didn't show up during the day though, I assume he must have come by after I left at 5pm, at least I hope so! I'm not sure what happens if for some reason the courier can't make it to all the libraries in his run due to traffic. I guess we'd probably go without a delivery for the week, which would suck, so here's hoping the box is there tomorrow morning!

On that note though better wrap this up, I have to get to bed so I'm well rested for tomorrow!

Wish me luck for tomorrow! Goodnight!

10:20pm: Well, the Juniors are at least, I didn't realise until I went onto YouTube today and it was on my "For You" watch list. I'd totally forgotten about it! Always a fun watch, although I was hoping to find the para-archery, but I guess they don't show the seeding rounds? Because those are on today, but they weren't streaming, boo-urns.

Anywho, I'm not sure if I should stay up for the last group of ladies because I'm pretty sure I haven't been getting enough sleep this week, which probably explains my sore eyeballs since it wasn't windy today.

As for work, lots of Inter Library Loans were sent out today since the courier drops them off quite late on Wednesdays now. But yeah, I got them all out except for one, sometimes when I put the reserve on, it comes out with a different branch than the one on the actual request, which is weird and rather annoying. I have to ring that patron and ask them which branch they actually want to pick the book up from, but sometimes they don't answer their phone or call me back.Ah well, tomorrow is another day.

Going off the topic, my water sort game I play on my mobile phone has changed and now it sucks, I have no idea why they did that, I might have to uninstall it it's that bad. Bah, if it ain't broke don't fix it. Also there's so many ads on it now with that damn pain in the ass AI voice. Throws up hands.

On that note, I'm gonna head off, because the past few days I've been saying I'll go to bed once I wrap up my journal entry and then neglect to do it! Not this time though.

So goodnight!

10:05pm: So usually I spend Wednesday nights at my parents house because my Lite N Easy weekly order comes to their house on Thursday morning. Except...as I made my way over there today - on the bus because my mother had to borrow my car because one of theirs is at the panel beaters after Dad came off second best with a parking lot pillar (which I didn't remember until I went downstairs to get my car and it wasn't there LOL) Mum let me know that no money came out of her account for the order. Damnit, I must have forgotten to press the last "OK" button when I was doing the order on Monday. At least...I'm pretty sure I did it on Monday...now I seriously can't remember...

Anyway, Mum and Dad had already made me dinner so I continued on my way and had that, Mum and I also watched two of our shows before she dropped me back off at my apartment, since she'll need my car for a bit longer, possibly until next Tuesday. I'll have to take it back Saturday evening though so I can drive to Archery on Sunday - and if their car is still being fixed I'll bring it back afterwards.

In other news, my legs have stopped hurting - yay! But my QL muscle and my thumb are still sore, although a lot less than yesterday thankfully! :O) Really need to do something about the QL muscle though...guess I should be doing my core exercises more, which is obvious, but yeeeah.

Oh yeah, we had our (fortnightly) Collections meeting and the Library Manager who's also our supervisor's supervisor was there to talk about the results of this Council survey we do every two years - although I think I might have forgot to put my answers in, LOL. The results were alright, but it also came up is that our Collections team will need to come in early one day every five weeks to do opening - ie start at 8:30 rather than 9. Gotta say I'm not looking forward to this because I struggle to get there at 9am! Which I really have no excuse for...but I often find the earlier I try to get somewhere, the later I am! I do need to work on that though, so...

Anyway, it's past 10:30 and I'm trying to get to bed at a decent hour so I better wrap this up...but I will do a...

Friday Five

27/10/23

1. Which website do you go to more often than any other? Hmm...these days maybe Reddit, or perhaps Wikipedia... or maybe even the Sydney Morning Herald, it's hard to know with apps these days LOL.

2. Which website have you stopped going to, that you used to go to a lot? Definitely LifeJournal which is really sad, that place used to be where all the action was. Damn trends....

3. What is the weirdest or most unusual website you have bookmarked? For some reason I have an online "DollMaker" bookmarked, I think maybe I used it to make the cartoony version of myself in my default icon. Not sure if it even still works though! (PS. It doesn't...I probably need to clear out my bookmarks...)

4. If you shop online, which online store do you buy from most often? eBay because that's the only one where you've got a chance at decent postage! I don't know what happened with the cost of postage from overseas, but it's ridiculous these days.

5. Which online store do you browse but almost never buy from? Pusheen Shop, she's so cute! But alas, the price of postage makes it pretty much unaffordable, which truly sucks.

And now it's closer to quarter to eleven, so time to haul!

Goodnight!

11:01pm: Because I don't have much to report today, I did have a physio appointment, where the physio gave me a few modifications to the exercises I'm doing. I'll have to try them out tomorrow at the gym, hopefully I won't fall on my face, LOL.

My QL muscle remains sore though, I feel like it's probably due to my terrible habit of sitting on my couch while using my laptop, I really ought to use a chair, but...yeah. Lazy Moose is lazy :OP

Meanwhile the Quality checking of books/items continue at the library, it's quite the conveyor belt as I think I've already mentioned. I think we're doing OK there, although we're set for another delivery tomorrow, which hopefully won't be too huge! Fortunately, the Friday's delivery was only 7 boxes so we're doing OK.

What else to report? Not much, still haven't written any BTTF prompt fic today, tsks at self! Come on me, get with it!

It's that time o' the month so that probably explains why I can't use my brain today LOL... apologies for that. I don't think I've been getting enough zzzs which might also explain it.

So with that in mind I'm off to bed now, here's hoping I'll have more to say tomorrow!
