11:31pm: Case in point it's 11:30pm right now and I'm only just starting this entry, whoops!

Anyway, let's keep it quick, work today went pretty well, although a colleague and me got stuck on the desk longer than planned because the rest of the library staff were in this meeting to discuss the future of libraries in general. Luckily it was pretty quiet in the library so it wasn't like we were run off our feet or anything.

However, we did get another box delivery, fortunately it wasn't too big, but we still haven't actually opened Friday's delivery yet, so yeah... better keep on top of that!

After work I went to the gym, which went well, although I'm still struggling a bit with some of the exercises my physio gave me, but I guess that's the point. It does seem to working though, so yay!

Then once home, rather than writing McFly July prompts I got sucked into Sims 4 again (Sims 3 well be disappointed with me :OP), but exciting things are afoot! Lady and her long lost gardener Shea got married! :OD I'm going through this rather more quickly than James did in the original, probably should have waited until Lady was actually rich before she got married, but shrug. :OP

OK, so I better be off, I've been dillydallying waaaay too much in the morning's and it's resulted in me missing the last bus before 9am, which means I get to work almost half an hour late O.o that won't do at all!

(Aw crap, I just realised I forgot to wish a Facebook friend a Happy Birthday, whoops... and also to respond to my mother about the Japan trip...)

Anyway, goodnight!

11:11pm: Wait almost 2 hours? Because that's what I did, LOL. Although I had my book with me so it wasn't like I was totally bored and fortunately, the weather isn't so cold now because that would have suuucked.

I obviously wasn't planning to get free pizza having being to the gym, but I was out of toilet paper so had to go and buy some on my way home, and walking to the supermarket I happened to pass by the newly opened pizza shop, where they were offering the free pizzas. I wasn't actually going to go there, because the line was already quite long and a there was a crowd hanging around - I later realised that these were people who were waiting for their order. But y'know, free food is hard to walk past, so after running into an old work colleague, chatting for a bit and getting a free cannoli I got in the line. As it turned out I was among the last - the free pizza stopped at 7pm and it was about 6:45 when I got to the front counter. My order number was 396! And they were only at 160 or something... So yeah long wait - when they said it would be about an hour I almost decided not to stick around. Still for all that I'm glad I did because it was a very yummy pizza indeed, even if there was no Hawaiian option :OP

Of course, it did mean I got home quite late, which means I'm updating this pretty late too! Before I rush off though, I have to say I'm a bit concerned about my side muscles which have been oddly sore since yesterday, I hope the physio didnt do something weird to them, but I don't think she'd actually touched that area so I must have sat oddly or slept weirdly. I hope I don't have to go back, it does cost like $90 a go.

Right, I totally got distracted by Duolingo and now it's nearly a quarter to midnight, which is no good because I haven't been getting enough zzzs lately and that just won't do.

That being the case, I better dash, see you later!

11:41pm: Especially when you're watching a replay of the para-archery.

It's like 19 minutes to midnight and I really don't have time to actually type anything up! Not that I've got much to report, except I went to the gym this evening after work and also rather unfortunately haven't done shit regarding the cleaning of the apartment. I always do this, and I'm gonna be in big trouble if it's not ready for the parentals and the little bro on Thursday. I don't know how I keep getting myself in these situations well actually I do, I was reading a book which I did finish at least, but in retrospect probably not the best idea.

I'm trying to keep in the habit of updating, which is the only reason I'm writing this entry... sorry about that :OP

But yeah, the archery continues to be fascinating, especially since there's a number of competitors who don't have arms and therefore fire the bow with their feet! It's pretty impressive, especially when they're shooting bullseyes like bosses.

But yes, I can't really afford to go on because I need to get my butt to bed, hopefully I'll be able to update more fully tomorrow.

Goodnight!

11:15pm: As you may be able to guess from my subject heading, my fears from yesterday about getting totally blasted by my boss did not come to fruition.

Phew!

And also a fine demonstration of my ability to catastrophise. This as you can imagine is a bit of a problem for me because it usually results in me thinking the absolutely worst and worrying needlessly about what's going to happen and how bad it's going to be, when in the end it all turns out fine.

Shakes head, I'm a silly duffer.

I'm also in a bit of a rush because today is gym day and there was also a going away get together for a person leaving the library service and since it was at the pub across the road from my house I decided to pop in since the person is question is one of the selectors. Then when I got home I planned to write for the McFly July prompt I'm up to, but then I got inspired to finally try and create my own Pusheen beret.

Some years ago, I lost my beloved Pusheen beret on the bus and never found it. This was very upsetting because the beret is no longer available to buy and attempts to secure a second hand one have failed - which is not surprising because it's like the cutest thing ever.

So a couple of years ago, my mother bought me a beret that was a similar colour from the French market thing that happens every year in a nearby suburb. My hope was that I could get it professionally embroided with Pusheen's face, but alas they're not able to, I guess the face is embroided on before the beret is actually shaped to become a beret.

My only hope is to embroider it myself, which I've dilly-dallied on doing until tonight, but when the inspiration strikes... it's kinda lopsided though and only half done.

Of course, having done that I've found a website where the beret seems to be available to buy? I'm not sure I should trust this...because the hat was sold like eight years ago now, would an internet shop that's not eBay really have some just sitting around? And if so, why have I never stumbled across it before?

And now, my internet is done so I can't even check, that's not irritating or anything...

I guess that's my cue to exit, no meme today, but I've almost finished the little ficlet so at least I won't fall any further behind on McFly July 2024.

Ta ta for now!

ETA: Research shows that the website is fake, hmpf! If I want to a knockoff Pusheen product, I'll make it myself :OP

10:40pm: For example, I was totally sure that I have the physio appointment this morning, which was weird because my Google Mini didn't mention it when I woke up. Before setting off this morning I picked up my phone to check the address (my physio has more than one office) and FINALLY noticed that even though it was showing on my calendar app, it wasn't actually happening until the 23rd, next week!

Whoops! Fortunately, I wasn't any later for work than usual, but that was a bit embarrassing...

Anyway, not much to report, work went well, although I did discover that somehow I sent an ILL book to the wrong patron! So I've had to order another copy, because said wrong patron is a Home Library Service patron and they have reaaaally long loan periods, so apparently I wouldn't get the book back until 28th August at the earliest. Yeah, way too long.

I have no idea how I managed that either...but suffice to say I feel pretty silly. It is possible the book hasn't actually been sent to the Home Library patron, but I haven't got a reply back from the Home Library Service person yet.

I posted my second McFly July prompt, I was actually thinking of writing on it during lunch, but I need to find some new boots and possibly a pair of white sneakers while the sales are still on, so I did that instead. No luck, I'm afraid, the problem is I wear orthodics, so I need to get a larger size than I'd wear otherwise, but that does mean the shoe can sometimes be too loose in the back, but too tight in the front. I guess I could go to the shoe shop that specialises in orthodic type shoes, although I'm not sure they're having a sale.

Right, so it's coming up to 11pm and I've been trying to get to bed at a more decent hour, so I'll do a quick meme and hit the hay.

The Friday Five

25/4/2024

These questions were written by Dreamwidth user milo_r.

1. Are you happy with your current line of work? What do you like/don't like about it?

Most definitely! It took me forever to get into the library field and now that I'm in it it's everything I hoped it'd be :O) I like pretty much everything about it! Except maybe filling in stuff for the yearly Performance Reviews, LOL.

2. Do you see yourself doing the same type of work in 5 years? What about 10?

You can pry this job from my cold, dead hands :OP No seriously, I don't even like to think about having to find another job, it took me so long to find this one!

3. Did you see yourself doing this type of work 5 years ago? What about 10?

Well, I started working at this job 5 years ago, so that's a yes. 10 years ago, I was volunteering at the library, but I wasn't actually succeeding at getting any positions so I went to TAFE to get my Certificate III in Aged and Disability Care. This allowed me to meet Mrs S, who even though I haven't spoken to her in a while, was a really good boss and I enjoyed my time with her... Also the three councils in my area merged into one during that time and everyone had to reapply for their jobs so I'm not sure I would have been able to take the stress!

4. Did you have a dream job as a child? What was it?

Long time readers will be well-aware of my Peter Pan Syndrome and lack of plans re: my adult life. I didn't briefly want to be a vet, but when I took a one day "Visit a Vet" type program thing, I quickly decided it wasn't for me when we were asked to dissect a goat's liver.

5. If you had to pick a radically different job from what you have now, regardless of whether you'd realistically be able to do it given your skillset, what would you pick and why?

Oh geeze, I dunno if I want to go there and it has to be radically different? I honestly can't think of anything I'd want to do. Maybe work at a museum? Which isn't radically different, but it's the closest I can think of and I do enjoy history so...

Oh and I almost forgot, I'm happy to say my stomachache was gone today! Although, I unwisely drank a bit too much water just before going to the gym so I had to cut my work out shorter than usually because I felt kinda ick. I feel good now though, so here's hoping that continues!

For now, goodnight!

7:26pm: Yes, I went back to the gym this evening although I only did the recumbent bike and my stretches, just to ease back into it :OP I'm feeling much better though, hooray! Although my nose is still snifflely, I think that might just be from the cold weather. I tell you, it's chillier than normal this year. I'm watching the news right now - the weather is on - and apparently it was warmer than usual today, but then I didn't go out during lunch because it's school holidays at the moment and that always makes the Mall a bit of a madhouse. I'm also trying to finish the Terry Pratchett book I've been reading, I was going quite well, but unfortunately, I forgot to bring the book home last Monday, and then I didn't go to work for the rest of the week... then I forgot it again yesterday! But I have it now and I'm getting to the end so I should get to reading that.

I do need to hang up my masks though, I just washed them - yeah I still wear masks, I've kind of got used to it, and despite having just had a cold I think it's been helpful in reducing general illness. Knock on wood I think this is the first cold I've had this year? But yeah fingers and toes crossed I haven't jinxed it :OP

Apart from this not much else to report - a familiar lament of mine, however, I must make sure to contact my friends to see if anyone wants to go see Inside Out 2 - did I mention this before? LOL I can't remember and I'm too lazy to go look now. I'm not sure what to do if no-one wants to come, I guess I could ask Mum? Although that's kind of lame, LOL. One of her friends - the one I went up to Cairns with did offer to come, but I dunno.

Hmmm...did I have something else to say? Nah, I should probably try and do some McFly July fics, since the more time I wait the more I have to catch up on! Although I do want to play Cities Skylines, I restarted my Hill Valley, for no particular reason, except maybe to make it look a bit better, the one I was working on before now has sprawled out and has rather tall buildings and just generally not looking quite right.

I'm also making quite a lot of progress with my Pusheen ice skating cross stitch, I'm still trying to decide if I should cross stitch in the snow, I suppose I should, but it kinda seems like a waste because it's not like you can see the white thread unless you're looking really closely. But...we shall see!

I suppose I should stop writing about this stuff and start doing it, LOL.

Before that - catching up on the...

Friday Five

30/5/24

1. What are three things you refuse to live without?

1. Cheese (I tried to give it up once...nothing doin'!)
2. Reading
3. Hmm, my first thought was the internet, but I dunno...was life that bad without it? :OP Instead I'll say writing!

2. What are your three favorite items of clothing?

1. My emerald green coat - the lining which is polka dot fabric is fraying alas - but I still love wearing it :O)
2. My Pusheen yellow jumper (sweater), it has a sort of...embossed image of Pusheen baking on it, it's super cute!
3. This nice flower print dress I have, hmm maybe I should take that along to Fiji along with my white dress.

3. What are your three favorite books?

Ooo tough one this...the first three that come to mind:

The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 3/4 by Sue Townsend (I have to pick a specific one from the series)
The Hating Game by Sally Thorne (Yeah, it's a romance, wanna fight about it :OP)
The Mysterious Affair at Styles by Agatha Christie

4. What are three things you'd grab if you had to evacuate your house quickly?

My glasses (I need them to see!)
My laptop
Whatever Pusheen merch I could get my hands on (alas I no longer have a pet fish, so I don't have to worry about that)

5. What are your three favorite songs or musical works?

Grease
the movie
Summer Sunshine by the Corrs
Wuthering Heights by Kate Bush

Oh yeah, I just remembered what I was going to write about, I had to go on the desk for three hours today! Fortunately, not in a row, as a Collections Assistant this is quite unusual, although I was away all last week and a lot of fellow staff are on leave. I did survive though! Partly because a colleague offered to switch a shift so I didn't have to stand for two hours straight. Also the person who does the roster was kind enough to take me off the shift I had tomorrow, which is also Inter Library Loan day, so huzzah!

11:43pm: Yes indeed! And did my first work out there, it's quite a nice place. Although they don't have an upper-body ergometre, which is a shame, but they have everything else I use. I decided to go with the 12 month $12.95 a week option because I have no idea what might happen job-wise so being confined to go between 9am and 3pm, or 12pm to 3pm (when Mrs S comes back) seemed it might be more trouble than it's worth. :OP

The only thing that disturbed me was I noticed the owner had her kid with her, who was apparently unwell because she was lying on a bean bag with a box of tissues and as I realised later a bucket. Fortunately, I didn't panic, although I was somewhat preturbed, but considering I didn't go anywhere near her I'll be fine. Still poor kid! I can't imagine what it would have been like if my mother had taken me into work when I was sick. I guess if you own your own business though, taking a day off is kind of impossible.

Moving on from that, I haven't done much else, although I did get a call from Mum today, apparently my little bro isn't sure he'll be able to get time off work - since he has to take mandatory time-off during Christmas - to go on the cruise. And apparently my father gets on better with my old landlady then he does with Mum's friend (I thought he disliked them both equally! :OP) so the former may end up coming with us and I'll have to share a cabin with her. Ugh, I certainly hope that won't happen, she's a chatterbox and I ain't in the mood for that. I guess I'll have to keep my fingers crossed.

Hmmm, well I did do my Russian earlier in the day so I don't need to worry about that, but I'll still have to make this entry short because it's almost midnight and like I said I don't want to end up having bad sleep habits.

And now, I say goodnight!

11:39pm: I even have the sign for it! The lightbox I bought from Aldi. ;O)

So yes! Mum made the dinner (lasagna and salad - I provided the carrot and cucumber for that), I provided the venue and Dad as well as the little bro attended, success! It's been ages since we've seen the little bro, but he's doing well at his new job and even took a quick weekend trip with his flatmade/friend.

Before that, it was a busy day! I didn't go to Spotlight, which turned out to be for the best because unfortunately there was a bad accident on the road I would have taken to get there and traffic was backed up for pretty much the whole day as a result! Thankfully, no-one was killed (I hope) and to top it off a crane broke down as well, so yeah it was a real mess.

I also ended up being a bit late to the SRE meeting and later on to the SRE class itself, and I didn't even end up been able to put into a proper workout on the gym. Booo. Ah well, I'll go again tomorrow for my last hurrah. Then I have to decide if I'm joining the gym just around the corner or if that might be a bad idea if I end up having to move somewhere else (knock on wood).

Anyway, I better make this short - sorry! - because it's getting late.

Oh! And Dad helped me with the spring on the green chair, so I'm back in it again, hopefully it'll hold up, but maybe I'll buy a zigzag spring just in case, although I have no idea how I'd put it in.

Right, I'm also a bit sleepy which is another reason to wrap this up, LOL.

Before I go, I have to also note that I managed to clean my flat up, whoo! I did have to do a bit more tidying after the parentals arrived but it's all good. :O)

11:17pm: Not sure where that little song comes from, but it's what my mother used to always say when we got home from holidays.

And so here I am back in my humble abode, alas still with the loan car from the smash repairers, I've got a terrible feeling they haven't made a start on my car yet, it's still not ready. Then again...the insurance guy did say it'd take 10 business day to fix, so perhaps he wasn't wrong. I saw ol' George parked on the side of the road today as I did a few days ago. I didn't get a chance to check him out closely, to see if the new door was on, but I guess it isn't. Oh well, I guess I'll get him back when I get him back.

Moving on, I'm sorry to report I didn't end up going ice skating after all that, because my abdominal area was still being an ass. I slept pretty well at my friend's place, despite being on the couch. Good call bringing my own pillow! On the upside, I did get to Lincraft where I bought fabric for my Pusheen plushy. However, I didn't notice the fabric was folded when I asked for it to be cut so I have soooo much of it. Perhaps I can make multiple Pusheens...

I also went to the pool, but sadly...no activity tracker, I'm pretty sure it's gone...so it's a good thing that the Dee Why Aldi had one left! Which I bought, and found to my relief that despite the price tag saying $70 it actually scanned at $50 phew! Better keep a close eye on this one though.

Speaking of the pool...it turns out that my gym membership hasn't actually ended...the last payment was just taken out today and I'm pretty sure that was in advance. I best check on that before applying to join the gym around the corner.

After that I popped by Mum and Dad's to return the TV box (I managed to return the antenna to the Warringah Mall Aldi, even though I didn't have the receipt) and had lunch with Dad. :O) Although he reminded me that's he's supposed to be looking at my place not the otherway around! ;O)

After that I popped home and then headed off to the library for my performance review, which went very well, with any luck I'll be getting a raise in a few months, yay!

And finally the optometrist appointment! I was somewhat surprised to hear that my prescription hasn't changed much, I hope I didn't make a mistake when he was checking my eyes with the machine - you know the "Is this clearer? Number 1? Or Number 2?"

The point is when he put the new script on those temporary glasses and put it on there really wasn't much of a difference...in that case I can't really splash out on new glasses. Plus they didn't have any green ones there. :O( They did say they could get other frames in, but apparently only from other OPSMs in the city. I wonder if they could get in the same brand of glasses I all ready have, I was looking on their website and they've got some good ones. Only problem...I bet they're super expensive!

Oh well, I guess I'll wait until my Medibank Private card arrives before I make any decisions.

And I was going to do some Memes, but it's quite late now and also the eyedrops the optometrist used to measure my eye pressure have left them all dry and shit, so I shall wrap this up here.

11:15pm: At the very least the net has been working pretty well today...knock on wood!

In other news no call about the laptop, I did think about popping into the shop after my volunteering at the library today, but I decided it was probably too soon and I didn't want to be a bother.

Although I'm suddenly reminded that I meant to call the Library Manager at Mosman Library (who's the same person as when I walked there) to remind her of that fact and letting her know how enthusiastic I am and all that. Do'h! Must do so tomorrow!

Also I realised last night - after the net went down and I couldn't save my entry after writing most of it up! - that I think I messed up the hill start which is why it didn't work. You're supposed to gun the engine before pulling the hand break up aren't you? I forgot that pulling the break up probably releases it even if you don't let go of it entirely. Fail! Lucky I didn't run into that Mercedes! I would have been pretty expensive!

So, what else to report, not much, the library went well as usual, lots of inter-library loans processed and returned! Always happy about a job well done. I stayed a little longer than usual and only just made the bus home - so good timing.

The rash meanwhile looks a little better but it's itch today which really sucks, plus the cortisol cream has gone missing, wtf? Very annoying. Anyway, depending on what it's like tomorrow I'll go to the doctor, plus I should go to the gym too. I'll decide tomorrow.

11:09pm: So I finally got around to looking more closely into the nearest gym with a pool and the cost of membership seems comparable with my current membership at the North Sydney Leagues Club and there might even be a discount because I'm a student. So yeah, I decided I better get around to cancelling my membership, so I rang up the Leagues Club only to find that crap! You've got to give two weeks notice. I guess that's better than getting a $400 fee for breaking a 'contract' or whatever, but still...Looks like I have to go to Leagues Club gym until the end of the month. I won't be able to go in a sign the cancellation form until Friday, which actually makes it 6th September. Well, we'll see maybe I'll write off one week as an acceptable $16 loss.

Anything else to report? Nah, not really, although today's TAFE class was very involved, there always seems to be heaps to do on Wednesday's and heavy stuff too. We looked at some of the more difficult aspects of looking after older people and also at grief and berevement. So yeah, bit of a bummer that...

Good thing there's cute stuff to look at on Tumblr when I got home!

Oh, and I do have something to report, the new Create-a-Sim demo is fantastic! It's so easy to make your Simmies now. Unfortunately, it doesn't let you take pictures, or if they do I can't find them on my computer. That's the one issue with Sims games since 2, they stick the photos in the most incomprehensible locations with filenames that mean nothing. But I'm sure I'll have lots of piccies to post when I get the game next month. Ooo I may have to resurrect my Sims journal, on Dreamwidth because LJ's update page is just a disaster these days.

Aaand that pretty much sums up my day, I don't have to get to bed as early as usual because my volunteering has moved to the afternoon rather than the morning, and I'll be doing the Inter-Library Loan stuff, exciting! Still, I better not stay up too late, I didn't get to bed until a bit late last night and when I don't get enough zzzs things go downhill for me. :OP

So, I shall bid you all goodnight!

10:45pm: Haha, I sincerely doubt it, but Project Plushy - the Babushka dolls have attracted some attention from other Plushy fans, how fun! :O)

Sadly for me, Australia doesn't have a Babushka-making industry, so there goes that as a career option...damn, kind of makes me wish I'd been born in an earlier time when such artisan trades were still viable career options.

On the other hand, there was no internet back then...the trade is probably not worth it. :OP

Hmmm, I'm watching TV right now and there's an add for an animal circus...I thought they banned those things in Australia? Although some years ago an animal circus came to the park across the street and my family went over to see the elephant. The elephant seemed to be OK, but really, they belong in their natural habitat, or at the very least a spacious zoo!

In other news, work today and happily my IBS got the memo and didn't bother me today, yay :O) So all the magazines were priced and put out and there was also stationery that needed pricing too, so yeah, good times. Man...I get joy from such weird things, don't I?

But I've got my introductory appointment with the Life coach person next Tuesday, so here's hoping she can help me put my best foot forward in the job hunt. Fingers crossed people!

What else to report? Not much, I was going to go to the gym after work, but the weather turned to shit and I couldn't be bothered, but yeah I'll have to go tomorrow otherwise I'm just donating money to the gym rather than actually using it LOL!

Hmmm and with nothing else to report, I guess I'll Meme and run:

Booking Through Thursday

Plot or Characters?

Which is more important when you read — the actual story or the characters? I’ve read books with great plots, but two-dimensional characters, and I’ve read multi-layered characters stuck in clunky stories, and I’m sure you have, too. So which would you rather focus on, if you couldn’t have both?

Well, as a reader of such trashy books at the Sweet Valley series, it's possible neither is important to me :OP But I think that characters are most important to me. I've read many a book with a crummy plot, but interesting characters which was enough to keep me hooked although the crappy plots would leave me rolling my eyes more than once. But yeah, I tend to get attached to characters.

Air Crash Confidential is on at the moment, they're looking at accidents caused by bad weather, including that flight over the Amazon that broke up leaving a lone survivor who fell some 30,000 feet into the forest and miraclously survived. We saw a movie about it at school once, it was a Hell of a story! But yeah, I can't even imagine getting through such a situation, surviving a plane crash and being stuck in the jungle for 11 days with an infected wound. o.O

Aaand that's pretty much all I have to say for now - although The Simpsons: Tapped Out has been going a lot better for me lately! Not so much crashing and I've been getting random premium currency and other stuff. Heh, probably all part of sucking me in.

And now, I bid you all goodnight!

10:04pm: So, I got up at a quarter to 7 this morning so I could be ready by 7:30 foe the pest spraying man. I washed my hair, had my breakfast, got my lunch packed and everything by 7:45, but no man. I hung out playing on the tablet as 8am passed, then 8:30... Finally at about 9, I found the name of the pest control place and called them up to discover...they'd put the wrong time in! They had 10:30 not 7:30! I have no idea how they managed to do that, but clearly I couldn't stay for that. 10:30 is when work begins, hmpf! However they've assured me that I can still get the $90 special and they'll be coming by on Saturday. Which will make Saturday a very busy day, what with voting and as it turns out two hours of work at the newsagency.

Yes! My savings balance will surely be healthy because while at my shift today the boss asked if I could do some hours on Saturday, and since he assured me I can leave at 4:30pm and thus arrive at church in time. Plus as I said, moneys!

Although, my poor feet and legs were very tired by the end of today's shift, although they've recovered rather quickly, which is way better than they used to do. I guess my converse like shoes are OK after all. Though I do wonder if I should look into a pair of Homey Ped shoes, they sell them at pharmacies and having had a pair I can say they're quite comfortable and not as expensive as a pair from Zierra or Beautifeel.

Oh! And I was rather disappointed to discover that there were only 7 tiny Nutella jars were left at work. I guess they gave them out to parents buying the Daily Telegraph in the morning before I came. Still, I did get 6 of them, originally I took the 7, but the person I was working with today wanted to give one to her daughter so I handed one over. Although I should be careful, I could resist buying a 375g jar of the stuff at Aldi where I went after to work to get some more cheese cubes. I just hope I don't go through it too fast!

In other news, now that I'm working on Saturday and there's voting and bug spraying happening I won't be able to stay over at my parents house and go to the gym on Friday. I originally considered staying over there and go to the gym tonight, but seeing as it's Mum's actual birthday tomorrow, I decided (while on the phone with Mum) to skip the Writer's Group this week and stay over there tomorrow instead. I hope I can still get to the gym...though.

Finally in RP news, Guybrush finally finished telling his rather...embellished tale to Victor on [community profile] multiverse_nexus. Ha, only took him 3 weeks! However, in bad RP news, I have once again fallen short on Activity Check for Pinkie in [community profile] dramadramaduck. This is like the sixth time (overall with all the characters I've ever played on there) that's happened. Man, I just can't so the 20 comment thing...so despite having some ongoing threads I'm thinking I won't bother re-apping. Plus after the first introduction it always seems I can't get any interest from other characters. I guess I'll keep Pinkie in the greener pastures of [community profile] mallowhallow, LOL.

Oh yeah! And I managed to return the shower cap and bring Mum the two extra pillows she wanted, so mission accomplished there.

And I best head off now, to catch up on my zzz's.

Goodnight all!

10:51pm: Yes, yes they can be, damnit. Not only did I miss the bus to the gym after work, I also caught the wrong one at Neutral Bay Junction, which terminated like a kilometre from where I wanted to go! But luckily the bus driver was running late and drove me up where I wanted to go anyway which was very nice indeed.

No such luck after the gym though, I forgot what time the bus left and missed it, so I had to walk up to Neutral Bay via my parents house. Although that wasn't too bad, because I found my mother's swimmmers and towels in the locker room of the gym (she must have left them behind on Sunday or something) so I was able to return them to her and also have some dinner. But then, when I went up to catch the bus that takes me directly to the stop just a block away from my apartment I missed it! D: Considering the fact this particularly bus stops running about that time, I felt that I was in a fine pickle. I was at least able to get into the city, but it looked like it was going to be a whole lot of bus hopping from there, at least until I discovered that the bus I missed must have been running late or my phone was wrong, because another one showed up and I got home relatively easily after that.

However, it was after 9pm by the time I got home! So any thought I had of catching up with Memes or even tagging has fallen by the wayside. Lame. And I haven't been getting to bed at a decent hour lately so I definitely have to turn in now.

Bah, not enough hours in the day I tell you.

For now goodnight!

10:04pm: I was going to go after work today but since I was still feeling sleepy and a bit off I decided to forgo it. I hope I can get back tomorrow.

In other news, the boss came by today to say that starting tomorrow she wants me to get some training on the stuff the Operations people do. I'm looking forward to it, although I do hope that I won't eventually end up been taken off files, because that would be really sad! Plus I wonder if I'll be any good at it...we'll have to see I guess.

Any other news to report? Not really, although I've realised that I have to go to bed much earlier than I thought, lest I not get my 8 hours, which sucks a bit because Air Crash Investigation is on and I haven't seen this one before! Not much I can do about that though.

Oh, I almost forgot! It was the final of Australia's Got Talent tonight and I watched with high hopes for the quick change artists Soul Mystique, but alas they didn't win. It ended up being between two music acts, which (petulant as this might be) I thought was pretty damn boring. I mean there's all ready shows for singing people. It gets rather boring after a while if you ask me. Sigh, still I guess if people are going to vote.

And finally, I've been keeping on the watching of My Little Pony and eeee it really is such a fun show! I'm definitely going to keep watching, Pinkie Pie always amuses! Which reminds me! I wonder what my cutie mark would be. Comment with any ideas if you have them!

And now goodnight!

10:44pm: OK, that's a terrible, terrible pun, but I'm sure my friend Spy will enjoy it :OD I've downloaded the bubble wrap app and mahjong and the word puzzle I enjoy playing on the tablet. I hope the screen isn't too tiny for my eyeballs.

In other news, Mum has just come home from work (late to go in, late to come back I guess!) and is making toast which is making me hungry! Looking at my calorie intake today I should be fine to have a piece of toast, but I still wonder about that fat content.

Not much else to report today, I went to the gym, played with my new phone :OD and surfed around on the net. Oh! I did some RPing which I've been slacking on for the last few weeks, it's time to get back in the swing of things!

Although there'll be quite a to-do list tomorrow, first of all some people are coming to inspect the house for possible purchase so I need to clean my room, I also need to call the library and ask if I can come in on Friday and I need to investigate what subjects I need to take to get my Masters degree. I don't want to pick the wrong ones, since as I've mentioned before it costs like $800 per subject.

Man, that toast smell is really getting me hungry...I'm going to get some eats.

And that's all I have to say for today.

Goodnight all!
