9:11pm: Heh, I'm actually updating this on my mobile phone in the hotel room I'm sharing with my parental units. I do have my tablet with me, but my charger is letting me down, the battery is low and I haven't got a cable long enough to use it. I'll have to look into that before we head off to Fiji.

So tomorrow I'll be heading home on the train, it'll take about an hour and a half to get back to the centre of Sydney and I have another hour and a half to get back to the north side and work.

I've started working on the McFly July prompts, getting one done before my tablet's battery fell into the danger zone. I might try posting that one tomorrow, see how the battery holds up if I leave it plugged in tonight.

In other news, someone actually tried to assassinate Donald Trump today! Yikes... He wasn't seriously hurt, but someone else was killed and two other people at the rally were injured. The shooter was also killed. It's all kinds of bizarre, like I'm not fan of the Orange Man, but actually taking a shot at him? It's a strange place in the US, there were people on the news wondering how someone even had the ability to take a shot at a former president. Well geeze guys, maybe the whole easy access to guns might have something to do with it? Although I suppose the shooter shouldn't have been able to get so close, but he wasn't AT the event so he didn't need to go through metal detectors or anything.

It was a bit alarming that apparently people saw the guy up there and tried to earn the cops on scene, and the cops apparently didn't do anything until shots were fired.

Anyway, the US election looks like it's gonna be a bad time... Not looking forward to the outcome of that.

The curse of "May you live in interesting times" is definitely holding true. Although, as a follow up to mentioning the various elections going down, the French one has turned out to be less of a shitshow than feared. So there's that at least.

Well, Le Tour continues and it's on TV (fortunately Mum watches it), so time to enoy that.

Goodnight!

11:15pm: Not much to report, although, I did finally get to the alterations place to get my pants taken in...all up this is going to cost like $60, which you know is like 10% of that one pair of pinstriped pants I saw on the net, LOL. (Seriously, they were Chanel and the only pants that came up on the Google search...I always though pinstripes were timeless!)

I also did my extra volunteering at Dee Why Library since I missed out on doing so last week, which is why I was in Dee Why to drop of my pants in the first place. There seems to be a lack of people working at the Home Library Service right now, so there was a heap of selections to do. Unfortunately, I got caught up with one particular client so I only did about three, boo.

Anyway, I also had success with getting a proper USB plug for my tablet at Officeworks, did I mention that I've been having trouble with that? I can't remember LOL, but I was and now I've got one with enough amps.

The tablet is going well since I installed Windows 10 on it, except the display is so small...I tried making it bigger, but then it get blurry...I guess that's just how it goes. Although it does make me wonder if I can actually change between my regular laptop and it without killing my eyeballs.

This is a very uninteresting entry, although I do have one piece of news, my co-worker has asked me over for dinner tomorrow night, it's going to be a Peruvian dish and I'm very intrigued. I hope it won't be too spicy though!

So, I gotta wrap this up because sleep is needed.

11:52pm: Right, OK, I have quite a few things to report, but nowhere near enough time to write about it...

First thing's first, I got myself an adorable little two-in-one tablet laptop at JB Hi-Fi yesterday! It was the last one so I got it at a discount, yeeess! However, it asked me to update tonight, which I tried to do only to have the thing throw a complete fit and now I've had to to reset it. Boooo! Not taht I had anything important on it but what a pain in the ass. I think I'll try upgrading it to Windows 10 next time, if possible. Windows 8 is notoriously crap if I remember right.

But OMG, I need to get back into my fic but I keep allowing myself to get distracted! Coe on get with the program me.

On a final note before I have to get my butt to bed and explanation for the subject title...I meant to turn the stove off earlier on, but instead I turned it up or at least not off completely. With it being winter and all I keep the door to the bedroom/living area closed so I didn't realise until my fire alarm went off and opened the kitchen door to find it FILLED with smoke! There wasn't a fire or anything, but my sausages were ruined and I had to open the doors and windows to clear it.

So yeah...massive fail there.

Right so I'm off to bed, at least I can say that I sped-read the latest chapter of the fanfic that's holding the Yuri on Ice fandom in it's thrall. So I can sleep easy. :OP

Now I say goodnight!

11:28pm: So for the past few days I've continued investigating tablets and I thought to myself, you know what, maybe I should buy one of those cheap 7 inch tablet they have at Officeworks, it comes in all sorts of different colours and I could use it for apps and type my fanfic on this laptop etc etc.

Except, I kinda forgot the main problem with that tablet, it's got some weird shit going on with the screen, like...it's weird? It's got this kind of glare to it and it's nearly impossible to hold it at an angle that doesn't cause it to look weird. It's not easy on the eye at all, boo.

So, now I have to take it back...again, not that they know I bought one before, but dang what a waste of time, grumble grumble.

I think I'm just going to go back to looking at second hand tablets, or see if I can get the old Motorola to work properly in the meantime, damn thing's so slow these days. But it's not like there's not enough storage on it, very strange...Maybe that's just how it goes.

Right, what else to report - well, I got an email today from Mona Vale with a whoooole lotta shifts for the upcoming months! Wow, what luck! I can take all of them pretty much...except for the two I'm already working, LOL.

In less good luck, it would appear the library job that I'm going to apply for was originally advertised only internally...I don't remember seeing it, do'h! So now it's being externally advertised, so there's gonna be a heap of applications. Of course, I'm going to call the contact person and let them know I'll be apply and so on, although there is one concern...namely that one of my co-workers who I was working with today had rang up to ask about the job and it sounds like they want someone who'd be willing to do Storytime for the kids. It's not a necessary part of the job description yet, but ewww.

Also I wonder how the days will work out? Plus it's for Manly Library, which is interesting, I wonder why they didn't mention it it in the ad. Eh, whatever.

So time is running short so I better wrap this up - but I need to remember to call a few people on Monday, namely the HR Department about claiming some of my gym membership, I keep forgetting to do so and I need to know if the GST needs to be on the thing or what.

Also, I should call my friend! I saw her in the library today actually, but we didn't have enough time to talk, but I've been too much of a hermit lately.

Right, it's ten minutes to midnight and once again I've been late to get to bed so I shall take this as my cue to exit!

Goodnight all!

11:33pm: Yep! And that's not just my own opinion, but that of my parental units and the priest who came over for dinner after church tonight. My little bro was supposed to come over, but alas he pulledut at the last minute, what a shame! I really should call him and see how he's going, I don't think I've even told him the exciting news about the apartment.

I also need to call my Uncle Sam and Aunt Jo to find out when I should come over with my Simpsons DVDs and to play Scrabble, they originally suggested this Sunday afternoon, but obviously that didn't go down.

Now, I did promise to have a more substantial entry today, but I forgot that I was going to be here at the parentals and therefore have my tablet, which doesn't have the greatest keyboard and doing he whole meme thing is a huge pain in the butt. I guessing could turn on the Bluetooth keyboard, but I'm a bit too lazy for that.

Oh dear, I just tried to turn it on and I've just discovered I didn't switch it off so it's out of charge, do'h! So there you go, it's not meant to be. :OP

What else to report? Not much although this week marks the beginning of my three and a bit work days with Mrs S! I hope I go all right! And then there's the interview on Friday, I remembered somewhat belatedly that at the moment all council jobs are on twelve month contracts and as my workmates pointed out the future is a bit murky what with all this council amalgamation stuff. Gulp! After speaking to Mum though I've reoncilled myself to this possibility if I get the job...at least I hope so!

OK it's quarter to twelve and I have to keep my zzzs up so I'll finish up here, goodnight all!

11:45pm: Yes, now that I've got the net at my Granny Flat I don't need to haul my laptop when I go to my parents' place, which I'm currently at.

It took quite a while to get it going because I needed to update all the out of date apps on it, but as you can see I got it going eventually.

Anyway! I'm at the parentals because I helped them out at church this evening and they also had a small present for me that they picked up in Canberra, it's this super cool glasses cleaning cloth with a photo of a golden llama that was found in Peru! I'll be showing it to Mrs S tomorrow,I'm sure she'll be intrigued, Mum even printed off a page of info on it, how nice!

Dad also wanted to show off his new mobile phone to me, the one he had was a built old and he couldn't install any apps on it, so on my advice he looked for the cheapest unlocked handset he could get and bought it. It's an LG and very spiffy! I'm slightly jealous to be honest. :OP Oh well, my phone still works so...

Moving on, I'm still wondering about getting a proper fish tank, but I dunno...Mum doesn' feel it's necessary for Bet ta fish, but I think five deceased fish says otherwise. Perhaps I'll ask mrs S what she thinks.

Well, crap it's after midnight so I need to get my butt to bed quick smart! Sleep is needed!

Goodnight all!
anonymoose_au: (Pinkie Pie Bounce!)
10:46pm: Ha ha, this show is so funny you can't help but get involved...although I am confused by this Charleton Heston cook guy who made a gigantic sandwich, but it had the weirdest stuff in it, what's up with that? Still his ideas of making giant food are relevant to my interests. :OP

In other news, I did it, I decided to throw caution to the wind and buy a new phone - although budget conscious as ever, I went for the cheapest one I could find that would be compatiable with the Wrist Band app. Although, as it turned out I ended up spending a bit more than I thought I would, because the phone I originally wanted to get wasn't available at the Dee Why Officeworks - despite the online site saying there was limited stock so I got the 2nd Generation version of it...which was only $268 unlocked (keep in mind the cheapest second hand Samsung s3 unlocked would have cost $179 and I would have had to order it from Ebay.

I didn't actually plan on going to Officeworks, and being a person who likes to stick with one brand I was going to go the Ebay option to get a Samsung, but then I do have a Motorola tablet and it was on the list so that's that.

I couldn't wait to get it out of the box! So shiiiiny, although the screen doesn't look quite so glossy now I've put my fingerprints all over it, LOL.

The only drawback is, it doesn't fit my Samsung case of course, and I just bought that, nuts. Apparently, the seller offers refunds so I've sent a message to them to find out if I can send it back and I've also purchased a green case for the Motorola, apparently it'll arrive on Monday, but I have hope it might show up on Friday.

In now related phone news, not much, today was a gym and swimming day, which went quite well! Except the showers didn't have hot water, WTF? I ended up just washing my hair with conditioner, which M advised me to do rather than use shampoo and conditioner and she should know since she went swimming for years and years.

I hope it has some effect on it, I put some of this sleek hair stuff I have when I got home because the humidity at this time of year just wrecks havoc on it. I swear I can't get it to lay flat! Bloody embarrassing.

Anyway, it's getting late and I need to get myself to bed, before I do though, the one last Meme and then I'm all caught up!

11:18pm: Although seeing as I'm doing so from my tablet at the parental units's place means there won't be any memes today either!

I'm here at the parental abode because Mum is spending the weekend with a friend up the coast and Dad's still recovering from his foot surgery so I came to make dinner, lasagna yum!

However, not everything went smoothly as hoped, Mum had suggested I come by before church to get the car, but to be honest that hadn't really crossed my mind, especially since I planned to go to those second hand shops in search of jeans. However, I managed to leave my tablet behind at the flat and figured what the Hell, I'd get off the bus at Dee Why then catch one to the parental unit's place so I could get the car and then go by the flat on my way to church. This took longer than expected as I just missed a bus going to my parents place and had to wait nearly a quarter of an hour for the next one.

But I got here eventually, although I failed to realise that my key worked in both front doors so I was trying to wake Dad up, even trying to call him on his mobile to let me in. No luck there, by the back door was unlocked so I managed to get in that way and wouldn't you know it? The second I do, Dad wakes up!

So I got the keys for Mum's car and set off, although I wonder if I should have because driving a manual does require more concentration I found myself kind of panicky during my drive to various places. I kept having to take back roads so I could drive more slowly and feel more comfortable about stopping should I need to do so. I did at least manage to hang in there and picked up my tablet (but forgot my driving hat!), got some second hand jeans (they might be a little loose, but oh well), got to church and got the lasagna sheets!

Dinner did end up being closer to 8pm then 7:30pm though with all the back road driving I did. Dad will probably need me to take him to Aldi tomorrow to do some shopping, so I'm thinking maybe we should take the red car for that. Or maybe not...it does help having someone in the car.

It was abdominal pain that was getting me down today though and I think that might be from PMS, very irritating it is too.

Anywho, better wrap this up since it's getting close to midnight and I don't want to sleep in too late!

So from me, it's goodnight!

11:17pm: The Strata Meeting that is, for one thing we didn't have that much to discuss, just four motions, I guess because it was an Executive Committee Meeting rather than just a general one anyone who has an apartment in the building can come to, so the result was a meeting that only went for an hour phew! Although, I managed to forget to bring my water bottle along, so I was a bit thirsty and annoyed because I filled it up with cold water especially and then just left it on the table at the parental abode.

Also I went to the doctor and remembered to ask for a referral to the pyschistrist and a script for my Zoloft, as well as the vaccine thing, unfortunately for me, Mum wasn't able to pick me up when TAFE finished (she went and visited the grandparents) so by the time I got the bus to Neutral Bay and got in to see the doctor the blood testing place in the Medical Centre was all ready closed. Boo. It opens at 8am tomorrow so I guess I can go then, I'm a bit leery though because of my history with blood tests, though I've been fine the last few times, so I guess I should suck it up. Or perhaps I can wait until the afternoon or something and go to a different blood test place (one that's still run by the same guys) which is on my way back to the Granny Flat. That might be a better idea, also it means I can get up at my usual time tomorrow.

In other news I managed to miss the 8:17am bus this morning, so I went around the corner to get the other bus and in typical running late style that bus was like 15 minutes late! The end result I was half an hour late to my class, crap! But luckily I hadn't missed too much and was able to catch up. We have a test tomorrow though and I haven't actually gone over the material three times as advised by the teacher, better do that on the bus tomorrow morning!

Any who, I'm here at the parental units place on my tablet, so I shall hold off in the Sunday Memes until tomorrow, plus Air Crash Confidential is on, so I'm going to concentrate in that before turning in for the night.

And now, I bid you all goodnight!

10:25pm: I am so relieved when a Hoarders story ends happily, because otherwise it's just awkward watching it, like I feel like an ass stickybeaking into a car crash or something...

In other news, my new charger for the tablet arrived! I didn't even realise because the delivery guy stuck it under the front door mat of my mother's friend's house, which I obviously wouldn't be looking at. But the friend's husband did and called me on my mobile to let me know it was here. And it works yay! I've all ready charged my tablet back up and played Tapped Out on it, aaah good times, good times. I must find out how to store the cord properly because this is the third charger I've had to get and as I've previously mentioned they keep getting more expensive!

In less happy news, I didn't get the Home Care job, fuuuuck. I can't even get jobs that are actually available because of a lack of people applying to them! Although that isn't what the email I got said. Daaaamnit. My mother is away at the moment and I haven't told her yet, she's going to be rather disappointed I just know it. I'm just no good at faking it, if I'm not certain and enthused about my prospects for a job the interviewer is going to know it.

So yeah, the car, it is no longer a happening thing. Farewell, green car, I barely knew ye!

Anyway, at least I have the party tomorrow to look forward too, I've made cupcakes - and I need to do the frosting before I go to bed though because I probably won't have the time or iclination to do it tomorrow morning before I head out for the IPL treatment, gym, church etc. I'm definitely going to have to borrow one of my parents cars tomorrow for the party though and also bring a heater back here, because it's bloody freezing.

That being the case, I better do the Memes before it's too late to be making frosting!

Anticipation

Do you still get excited about new books as you did when you were little? In general? New books in particular, like from a favorite author? Or do you look at all new, unread books with the same level of anticipation?

Well, to be honest, the only new books coming out that I was really excited about were the Harry Potters once I got into fandom. Outside of that I either read books that were old and hence all ready out and could be bought at second hand shops, or ones I could borrow at the library. There was a brief period when I was excited when the new Sweet Valley books came out, LOL before they went all 'modern' and shithouse.

As for anticipating new books, well I do enjoy the smell of new books, but as a budget-conscious and now unemployed person I'm far happier to find a book I want to get at the second hand bookshop!

I Scream

1. What’s something this past week that made you slightly bananas? Um...hmmm, dunno, it's been a pretty good week for me acftually, yay!

2. What did you do last Sunday? What are you planning for this coming Sunday? Last Sunday? Went to the gym, then moved allll the rest of my crap back here to the Granny Flat, which took forever and resulted in extremely painful leg muscles for the next couple of days. As for this Sunday, well I guess I'll have to take the parental car back to their house and I plan on going to the gym over there while I'm at it. Although I still need to figure out about joining the gym closer to home.

3. What’s something you fudged this past week? Getting a friggin' job, damnit.

4. What was this week’s most interesting scoop? Umm...well, a little known Aussie tennis player beat Richard Gasquet in Round 2 of Wimbledon just yesterday, whoot! (I can't remember his name...looks it up...Nick Kyrgios. Go you good thing!)

5. What was the cherry on top of your good or bad week? Getting my new tablet charger! Which means despite the lack of job getting has pushed the things that happened this week to the good side.

Right, the other memes aren't up yet, so now it's off to make that frosting! Wish me luck!

10:45pm: Haha, I sincerely doubt it, but Project Plushy - the Babushka dolls have attracted some attention from other Plushy fans, how fun! :O)

Sadly for me, Australia doesn't have a Babushka-making industry, so there goes that as a career option...damn, kind of makes me wish I'd been born in an earlier time when such artisan trades were still viable career options.

On the other hand, there was no internet back then...the trade is probably not worth it. :OP

Hmmm, I'm watching TV right now and there's an add for an animal circus...I thought they banned those things in Australia? Although some years ago an animal circus came to the park across the street and my family went over to see the elephant. The elephant seemed to be OK, but really, they belong in their natural habitat, or at the very least a spacious zoo!

In other news, work today and happily my IBS got the memo and didn't bother me today, yay :O) So all the magazines were priced and put out and there was also stationery that needed pricing too, so yeah, good times. Man...I get joy from such weird things, don't I?

But I've got my introductory appointment with the Life coach person next Tuesday, so here's hoping she can help me put my best foot forward in the job hunt. Fingers crossed people!

What else to report? Not much, I was going to go to the gym after work, but the weather turned to shit and I couldn't be bothered, but yeah I'll have to go tomorrow otherwise I'm just donating money to the gym rather than actually using it LOL!

Hmmm and with nothing else to report, I guess I'll Meme and run:

Plot or Characters?

Which is more important when you read — the actual story or the characters? I’ve read books with great plots, but two-dimensional characters, and I’ve read multi-layered characters stuck in clunky stories, and I’m sure you have, too. So which would you rather focus on, if you couldn’t have both?

Well, as a reader of such trashy books at the Sweet Valley series, it's possible neither is important to me :OP But I think that characters are most important to me. I've read many a book with a crummy plot, but interesting characters which was enough to keep me hooked although the crappy plots would leave me rolling my eyes more than once. But yeah, I tend to get attached to characters.

Air Crash Confidential is on at the moment, they're looking at accidents caused by bad weather, including that flight over the Amazon that broke up leaving a lone survivor who fell some 30,000 feet into the forest and miraclously survived. We saw a movie about it at school once, it was a Hell of a story! But yeah, I can't even imagine getting through such a situation, surviving a plane crash and being stuck in the jungle for 11 days with an infected wound. o.O

Aaand that's pretty much all I have to say for now - although The Simpsons: Tapped Out has been going a lot better for me lately! Not so much crashing and I've been getting random premium currency and other stuff. Heh, probably all part of sucking me in.

And now, I bid you all goodnight!

10:43pm: At least...I think so! I was able to go for a walk down to the Salvos and the Vinnies, where I managed to finally find a pair of 3/4 jeans to replace the pair that ripped, yaaay! I could have worn them today actually, because there was a a final burst of summer today when it got up to 29 degrees C, phew! Unfortunately for me, I didn't really consider that until after going out wearing my jeans, so I was kind of sweating by the time I got home. Do'h whoops. It is though supposed to go back to normal autumn weather tomorrow.

Anyway! Tomorrow is ANZAC Day, which means I shouldn't stay up too late because I need to wake up in time to watch the March on TV, although I'm not sure if Grandpa will be going this year, he usually does, but I did just have a hip replacement - or maybe a knee replacement, I can't remember. He's back to playing golf though, so maybe he will. Either way it's important to honour those who served.

What else to report...well I've just realised I've been totally neglecting my reading material the past few days, shame on me, and I was keeping up with it so well lately. Not that I don't read, I just read online stuff, which I can't really count on the Good Reads app, LOL. Shame that.

In other news, The Simpsons: Tapped Out app continues to be very temperamental, a lot of crashing...I wonder what that's all about and how many people have bitched about that issue. They really need to fix it though, I haven't had to restart my tablet so much in ages!

And in closing...the Meme for today!

Favourite

Do you have a favorite book? What do you say when people ask you? (This question always flummoxes me because how can you pick just one, so I’m eager to hear what you folks have to say.)

And, has your favorite book changed over the years??

In general, I'll say the Adrian Mole books, because I love them! I was most bummed when I heard his creator Sue Townsend passed away recently, not to mention her health problems in the last few decades.

I also really enjoy the book Polgara the Sorceress by David and Leigh Eddings, so sometimes I'll answer with that.

But like most things with me...my favourites haven't changed in many, many years, LOL.

And...I shall be off. I'm watching the news right now and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge along with Prince George are on their last day tomorrow, been an interesting visit, I'm rather bummed that I didn't go to see them last week. Damn weather. Oh well, I'm sure they'll be back...

10:48pm: It's Grease 2, but good God I heard it sucked, but this is seriously terrible! I pity the fools who paid to see this shit in the cinema. I should change the channel, but I kind of can't be arsed.

In other news, there was an update to the Simpsons: Tapped Out app yesterday, which I eagerly downloaded only to find that it crashes the game...a lot. Most irritating! I hope there isn't something wrong with my tablet, it's battery has been draining really fast lately.

This movie is messing with my mind...it has no coherent storyline whatsoever..

And there sure is a lot of gum chewing going on in this movie...it's distracting me.

Ha ha, right can we all tell I didn't do shit today and thus have nothing to report.

I did go to Holy Thursday Mass which I usually don't do, I think everyone was reading from the wrong mass, because the readings didn't match what was in the Missal at all. Although they still did the feet washing so they weren't completely lost.

Although, I can confirm I still can't abide by the incense, my poor eyeballs were quite itchy. They're fine now though!

10:50pm: Right, the title is not actually all that relevant seeing as I'm not even talking, LOL, but I haven't done nearly as many words as I hope to do. Because alas I wasn't able to type on the bus on the way home this evening, because my tablet's battery was so low I didn't want to risk typing stuff and then losing it if the battery ran out completely. At present I'm almost up to 11,000 words, which is good, but I'm still over 7,000 words behind, eek!

On the plus side, tomorrow is a day off for me now that my work schedule has returned to what it was, although I do need to do my laundry, clean my apartment and apply to jobs, so it won't be all NaNo-ing all day. Every little bit helps though I'm sure.

Saw the pyschiatrist today, he sympathised with me over the difficult of finding a full-time job in the world today and my monetary situation and whatnot. On the whole though, things seem to be going all right, so I don't need to go and see him again until February next year, by which time, I hope to have good news jobwise.

Anywho! I'm typing on my tablet simultaneously with this entry, which is some serious multitasking :OD However doesn't do much for my word count, so I better concentrate on one thing at a time.

Once again I shall skip the memes and instead leave my current word count and haul ass!

11005 / 50000 words. 22% done!

Go me! I think I'm doing pretty well actaully :O)

And now, off I go! Goodnight all!

10:36pm: Right, so as it turns out the wedding my parents are going to tomorrow starts later than I thought, which means while the little bro is happy to drop them off at the reception, he's not all that sure he wants to be available to pick them up. Mum says that she and Dad will probably finish up by 11pm, which incidentally is too late for me, I'm usually in bed by midnight, weekend or not! Plus I'm planning to get up early tomorrow so I can go to the gym tomorrow before I go working for the man, so I'll be more likely than ever to be in bed at a decent hour.

Plus, I think this situation is irritating my bowel, I felt seriously off-colour this morning, I thought I was going to have to get off the bus! Thankfully, I put on my relaxation audio and was able to calm down, but still ick! I suppose I should face my fears and all that crap, but driving over the Bridge at night? You'd think that'd be easier, but... Although I'm confused, Mum said I'd be able to pick them up and still get to church on time? How can that be if I'm not meant to be picking them up until 11. I guess I must have misunderstood.

I did tell Mum this morning when I called and found out it was a nighttime reception not a daytime one that she and Dad should just take a taxi, it'd probably be quicker and they wouldn't need to worry about their driver having a nervous breakdown. Plus I'm sure it'd only cost them 20 bucks! Maybe I'll just offer to pay for them to go myself. In the meantime, when I called this afternoon to see how the situation was going Mum said she was seeing about possibly hitching a lift with Auntie Chris and Uncle Laurie. Fingers crossed something comes up then!

In the meantime, today went pretty well despite the stomach pain, the reception gig is going quite well for me! I'm reminded though that I should ask about possiblities for full time work. Maybe I will have to take a TAFE course on accounting or something.

Anyway, as I said I want to get up at a decent hour, so I better get those Memes done and head off to bed!

Friday5

Toss

1. When (and why) did you last intentionally throw food onto the floor or ground? Intentionally? I don't believe I ever have! Food is important, there's starving people in the world!

2. To whom did you last throw a canned or bottled beverage? Are we still talking intentionally? If not well I often drop the bottles of fizzy drink when bringing them to my parents or getting a new bottle to put in their fridge - I've got butter fingers!

3. When did you last throw a ball? Uh...gee...no idea, not much of a ball thrower, I do throw my clothes at the laundry basket a lot these days, pretty accurately to if I do say so myself!

4. When someone throws you a set of keys, how confident are you while those keys are in midair that you will catch them and be cool doing it? Ha ha, absolutely none whatsoever! Although as I said, I've been getting better lately.

5. What’s something you regret throwing away? Oh man, I know there's something, but damned if I can remember what! This always happens. In all honesty though, I really ought to be throwing more stuff out...

The (Other) Friday Five

Computers!

1. When did you/your family get your first computer? Man, I'm pretty sure we were still in Canberra so like 1988 or 1989. Old school!

2. What type of computer was it? I think it was an Amiga, I'm not sure, I'm pretty sure it was stolen not long after the family moved to Dubbo.

3. What were your favorite things to do on your first computer? Play Frogger and Dig Doug, although the latter used to make me cry when I ran out of lives! It played such sad music!

4. When did you/your family first connect to the Internet? 1996, I believe

5. How did you spend time online when you first connected? Well, in those old days it was Dial-Up and for a while we only had the one phone line, so if someone was on the net no-one would call the house. So my brothers and I were limited to 2 hours each. Not that the little bro got on all that much in the old days. Which was lucky, I guess! Otherwise my time would have been less...

Right! My laundry has finished so time to hang them up and then off to bed.

And I just typed this all up on the new keyboard, aaah yeah! Although it seems slightly small than I'm used to, but I think I'm getting used to it. Good times, good times.

And now I say goodnight all!

9:38pm: So I'm watching My Strange Addiction and there's a woman on here who's obsessed with her breasts...which basically means she has this overwhealming urge to get implants...constantly! Like she's a size KKK, and has even had ribs removed to accomidate them. And when she had to get them removed because of a deadly infection she was so depressed she attempted suicide! Talk about scary! Her entire identity revolves around them, which is super sad since she has a husband and daughter. I sure hope they can do something for her.

I should probably not watch these shows...they're rather exploitative.

In other news, I got an sms from the Newsagency boss today, he wants me to come in on the next two Saturdays to fill in for someone else who's doing the HSC (the big exams at the end of Year 12). This is great! Because, money! Especially considering I missed out on applying to one of the jobs I was going to because I misread the closing date, do'h!

However this does make driving the parentals back from the Wedding Reception more than a little difficult...and I don't want to do it in the first place! But I need the money and after telling me to get more work, Mum can hardly tell me not to. However, she did convince me to ask the boss if I could finish at 4pm instead of 4:30pm, which he said was fine. Although this even worse because it means I'd have to drive over the Bridge twice! However, I hit upon the idea that this was a job for the little bro! He loves to drive and he just got a new job where he doesn't have to work on weekends...usually. He doesn't think he has to work this weekend so here's hoping he can step up to the plate. Fingers crossed friends!

And I haven't cleaned my apartment...whoops. But it was sooo hot today, ugh, I just didn't feel like it.

But! Exciting news! It came! I went to the convenience store after work, they didn't call me I guess they forgot so I was little worried, but yes it was there! In a rather normal drab brown package. But I opened it and just beautiful! Look at the keys! They're proper keys! Not rubbery like the other one that stopped working. Ah yeah this is great! Although since the keyboard is not removable I hope it's OK to have it exposed when I'm not using it. I wouldn't want it to break, especially after all the money I spent on it.

And...the Thursday Meme doesn't seem to be up, so I guess I'll wrap this up here. I'm now distracted by a woman who eats nearly 10,000 ice creams a year o.O. Woah.

And I should clean up a bit more just in case my little bro has to come over in between dropping my parents at the reception and picking them up.

Goodnight all!

10:11pm: When I got home today and checked the mail box I discovered one of those slips that get left when a courier comes and you're not home. But it was a Fed-Ex one which I've never seen before and much to my surprise it said that my parcel wasn't at the post office - it was with the Fed-Ex people who were going to try and deliver it again. Which considering the fact I'm not home during the week at least not during business hours isn't the least bit helpful. The slip said that you could arrange to have it sent to another address, but there'd be a surcharge, so I decided to call them up about it. Turns out the surcharge is $50! Fuck that, I'm poor! I also don't have neighbours, or at least I don't have ones I know will be home. Fortunately I had a brain wave, the Convenience Store down the road! They could leave the parcel there - there was a bit of a worry that that still might cost money, but the person on the other end of the line checked it out and said no that'd be find. So I had to fill out the slip, go to the Convenience store and check it'd be OK with them (considering I rent a car space to them it was), scan it into my computer, attach it to an email and send it to the Fed-Ex people so they'd know where to go and finally drop the slip back at the Convenience Store. But it should be good and I'll be able to pick my new Bluetooth keyboard tomorrow! Eee exciting!

Oddly enough, when I went to the Convenience Store the second time I met the Owner's daughter who mentioned that I've lost weight, noticibly so! Weird! I could have sworn I wouldn't look that different, I've only lost about 4 kilos all up, must be the toning from the weights. Or maybe 4 kilos makes a difference. Although the lady seemed to think I'd lost 15! Don't know if that was pounds or kilos, but either way... Unless she's mixing me up with my mother, LOL.

In other news, I was useful in the research department at work today! It turns out they haven't forgotten the plan to get some lockable doors on the file shelves for security purposes. My manager asked me to look into how much that would cost if it was possible or failing that how much it'll be to get new shelves with lockable doors. So off to the internet I went. Of course, in the end a co-worker noted that the shelves definitely should be able to have doors put on (the locksmith I called didn't think that would be possible) and I realised I just needed to call the company who made them. Well duh! So I went and did that, turned out I had to take some pictures of the shelves and email them off so they could see what shelves they are (they're probably quite old ones), although they'll probably have to send someone around to take a look. But hey, success!

What else to report? Oh! Yes went to the Writer's Group, got some good words in - although I can't wait to get the bluetooth keyboard!

Oh and I remembered what I was going to say yesterday! My hair was sore! Like a spot on my scalp really hurt whenever my hair moved or I poked it or anything. Thankfully it's better now, I think it needed a wash, which I did last night after working out at the gym (although alas no swimming I ran out of time). I also put that Moroccoan Oil on it in the hope it would make it nice and shiny. Not sure if it did that, but it sure is puffy today! O.o Don't know if that was the oil or just my hair, probably the later. Bah!

Oh! And the moving men were able to bring the furniture to the office today, yay! However, the traffic was still crappy, which meant my bus was late (although I really should have got there for the earlier one) meaning I was late! Man I have to stop doing that.

And on that note I should be off, I have some stuff to do before going to bed and I have to make sure I get my zzzs at a decent hour. Plus my house shows are on!

And now I say goodnight!

9:53pm: Why was I left uninformed that there's an easy way to take screen shots on my tablet! Oh my Gawd and here I've been taking pictures using my mobile phone to take photos of my screen like an ass.

This makes me a bit sad since I've been taking pictures of the My Little Pony and The Simpsons: Tapped Out that have taken my interest, but frankly they're all rather blurry and hard to see. Hmpf! Why was I left uninformed of this ability, I swear I never read it in the Operating Manual. Bah!

In other news I felt much better today having caught up my zzzs, which was a good thing since I went to work at the office. Although my IBS does seem to be acting up, I'm not sure though...it's hard to tell really. Grumble, grumble. I wonder if it was that Thai food, not that it was bad or anything, but IBS can be set off by the dumbest things apparently.

Also, as it turned out I didn't app Guybrush to [community profile] high_seas, primarily because I didn't get any comments on the tag I made so I didn't have a decent link to give! Also I was busy at work trying to figure out what happened to the moving man who was supposed to drop off some things at the office, turns out the 100th Anniversary of the Navy celebrations prevented him from been able to park the truck to load the stuff in. Apparently the rangers were going to tow him if he hung around too long, but he can come back tomorrow, I don't know about that since tomorrow is when the big Naval Parade is, which my grandfather is going in. Ah well, we'll see.

And... I was going to write something else, but now I've forgotten what it was! Oh well, I should probably wrap this up and head to bed, since this is my chance to get back into good sleeping habits!

So on that note, I shall be off.

Goodnight all!

10:59pm: OK, that's a little dramatic, but there was a fuck up this morning when I went to boil an egg and accidentally pressed the wrong button and turned on the wrong hotplate. Unfortunately for me I'd left the plastic banana carrier box I bought last week (to keep my banana from getting all squished and bruised should I take one to work) on that very plate. What really sucks is as I pressed the button I thought to myself that it was the wrong one, but I convinced myself it wasn't.

Then I didn't noticed what had happened until I heard sizzling looked up and saw my poor banana holder starting to melt! Well, suffice to say I got across to the stove top and picked it up quick smart. Sadly though there's a huge hole in the holder now, boo. I've decided not to throw it out thought because it still opens and closed, plus I'm having money issues.

Yes! Despite my extra work days this month, I couldn't afford to pay my levies before the due date, which was yesterday, what a fuck up. I have been spending a bit, but I didn't think it was that much. :O( I did discover part of the issue today when I was going over my budget to see what happened, basically the gas metre people couldn't access my apartment (because they want you to hang around all day to let them in like you don't have a job) so the gas company estimated my usage based on what comparable single person residences use. And I don't know what those people are doing, but their bills are almost twice as high as mine! What a rip off! Now I called the Gas company who will adjust my bill once I submit my metre reading, but still. :O(

I've also discovered that contrary to my belief I don't think I'm actually saving money by keeping my old style Foxtel...looking on the website, it seems that for a one off $75 fee I could upgrade to the Foxtel IQ box. Hmpf when did this happen? I may have to investigate that further once I get my budget situation under control.

And no more big purchases! Although I did wear my new black and white peplum top and a black skirt to work today, I looked most corporate indeed and my co-workers commented on it. Embolded by this I'm going to wear the sailor suit inspired dress - hopefully it won't be too cool, it was warm today, but yeah...

Still, it'll be a relief when the tablet keyboard arrives, it's not impossible to type on the screen, of course, but I don't think I'm getting the best of my Writer's Group that way! Although I think I got about 200 words done tonight, unfortunately for me I didn't plug my tablet in properly to charge it so it ran really low and I had to leave. Also that time o' the month has finally showed up and I was rather uncomfortable, so I wasn't there as long as I usually would have been.

Now, I should be off to bed, because sleep is needed, so in closing, remember to keep your stove top clear of plastic at all times!

Goodnight all!

10:22pm: Well, not frivolously, but it definitely looks like the Bluetooth keyboard I got last year (I think? I can't remember!) is just dead so I've splashed out and purchased an actual Xoom keyboard and folio case from EBay. All up it's cost me $57, but what the Hell, life is short. Although after doing so I wonder if the new case will fit in my green laptop bag which I use now to carry my tablet, keyboard, cleaning cloth and charger around. I hope it does, because that bag has prevented any loss of charger or cleaning cloth so far. It is a bit bigger than my actual tablet so hopefully it will.

In other news I made quite a bit of progress at the Writer's Group tonight, despite having to type on the upright touchscreen, go me!

And now it's Operation Clean-Up at the apartment, so I'll have to make this entry short - not that I have much else to report - because Mum will be coming over tomorrow and I hope to keep any extra cleaning I have to do to a minimum (because Mum always seems to find something that needs cleaning). Makes a mental note not to forget to vacuum before I leave for work tomorrow as it's too late to do so now.

And finally, I'm going to pop into the newsagency tomorrow to make another search for my Simpsons tea towel. Man, I hope I can find it...although it occurs to me I might have left it at the parentals, I might call Mum tomorrow morning to remind her to bring my stuff over and see if she can see it.

And that's all I have to say about that!
