Good News!

10:20pm: The fire inspection issue was resolved today, the man came by at 8:30am as I requested in my email to the company. Which was great because I got back here at 7:30am and was able to make sure the place looked presentable.

With regards to my package, well according to tracking website it's on the move once more, I guess they're going to try and deliver it again? My only hope is that the courier comes by early in the morning (sometimes they do) or that the company received my request and will take it to nearby post office if they can't get in. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

In other news, after work today I went to the farewell drinks for my colleague, one of my other colleagues being nice enough to give me a ride - which proved to be very good luck indeed because after very mild weather the last few weeks, it was super rainy this evening, at some points it was bucketing down! By my colleague dropped me off in front of the bar and went off to find a parking spot. During which time it poured down! One of the people who works in a different library branch, but comes to trivia got caught out and was positively soaked when they arrived!

Anyway, a good time was had by all! I ordered a large bowl of fries, which I ate all by myself (because fries a delicious dang it) and a piece of pizza. It was an interesting pub, I'd actually been there before a few years back, it has a dartboard and a pool table... I was somehow roped into joining in with the pool. I suck so hard at it LOL, like somehow despite trying to hit the ball in a certain direction it would go way off course. Major fail! Although, much fun was had by all, which is the important thing.

Although the pool table was like on the opposite side of the bar, so I didn't get to talk that much to my departing colleague, however she promises to still come to trivia so it's not farewell farewell (we still have $75 to spend at the pub next Trivia time!)

I was also lucky that I got a ride home with another work colleague - the guy who drove me over had left earlier plus was going in the opposite direction. The rain was still coming down, quite heavily in fact, so phew!

Well, I had to get up early today, so I'm sleepy now so I'm gonna head off.

The Sims Thing is back though! :OP

Goodnight!

10:14pm: Indeed, it started this morning as I headed down to the basement to put my overnight bag in my car, there were two guys from the fire inspection place our apartment uses, now I kind of suck when it comes to reading my emails - the Strata company used to put up notices in the lifts when the annual fire inspection was due, but they didn't this time.

After dropping my bag in my car I headed back up the lift to the ground floor - the guys had got off on the level above me, and they must have just been doing something quick because they also got back in the lift. So I asked the guys if they were here for the unit inspections.

The good news was: they were, but they were doing the common areas today and would be doing my block of the building tomorrow.

The bad news was: I go over to the parental units so I can pick up my Lite n Easy delivery in the morning - and I couldn't really cancel that because otherwise there's a whole lot of to-ing and fro-ing to get the food to me. Also my apartment wasn't in the best state, so even though I do head home in the morning, I usually don't get back to my apartment until 8am, but I think they start at like 7:30am...so if they show up before 8 I'll be kind of screwed. Because who knows where they might be in the building at that point? I tried to set up a time via email, but I didn't receive a reply, so shit.

Then, on my way to the bus stop I finally managed to figure out how to track this order of Pusheen related clothing, I ordered not last week but the one before, and it took me that long to figure out how to look up the parcel tracking without having to download an app. At first I didn't see any result, which was rather worrying, then I did manage to get it to show up and... it was even worse! The package had apparently come, but the courier wasn't able to access the building and according to the app the package was now back at the facility it originally came from rather than the post office! Did that mean it was going to be returned to the company I bought it from? Like WTF?! I later realised that if it's a courier and has no access to the building so that's why they didn't leave a slip or anything.

Anyway, I ended up sending an email to the shop and the facility, but I haven't heard back yet, so that's still unresolved.

Finally, after work I decided rather than driving straight to my parent's house when I got home, but clean up the apartment a bit, just in case I only have like two seconds to do it tomorrow morning. Which fortunately because of all the tidying from last week this didn't take too long.

Unfortunately, for me as I left the apartment for my car, I forgot to take my apartment keys along, fuuuck. Fortunately, I had my car keys and my parent's have a spare set so I'll have to use theirs - which means I should probably go and get them so I have them on hand tomorrow since I'm gonna have to hit the road ASAP.

Anywho, I'm updating on my little HP so I can't post as Sims Thing, ah well, I shall say goodnight!
anonymoose_au: (It's Peanut Butter Jelly Time)
6:49pm: It is a Moose!

Yes, yes, I know I said I was going to update more, but then I got both busy and lazy...

Anyway! I've just realised, horror of horrors that since my last update I've moved into my new apartment (the one I actually own 90/10 with my parents) and I haven't shown you guys any photos! (Although if you follow me on Facebook you've probably seen them)

This is a terrible oversight! Because the place is awesome and I'm super proud of it!

Now originally I took some panoramic shots, but either my phone isn't up to the task - or more likely my unsteady hands just made it look shitty, so I'll skip those and instead present...

My table area It's been nearly four years since I bought that table for this very occasion! (That is, a small space) it has two sides that can be folded down independently of each other, so as a general rule I just have this one side up, but if I have guests over I open the other side and seat up to four! (LOL, good thing I don't know a lot of people ;O)!)

The Wintergarden! Now I was under the impression that a Wintergarden was like an actual garden, so I wasn't expecting what's practically a second room! Out there I've got my old bed - which is now a day bed, my display cabinet, my bed box (that was suppose to fit next to my daybed, but Mum and I totally failed at measuring the width of the room and it juuust didn't fit, do'h!), my storage basket thing and (temporarily) my portable air conditioner - which I've been using despite the fact I had to keep one bank of windows prety much open to fit the outlet hose, but thankfully today the handyman came by with a perspex sheet he had made up to replace one of the glass louvers so now I can have it on without trying to cool the whole suburb.

My Kitchen! Check out the dishwasher! It's actually ridiculously big for one person, but the construction company must have got a huge discount for bulk buying. It sure washes well though! Also check out that sexy marble-like counter. I actually don't have as much stuff on the counters now, which makes my mother happy :OP

My pride and joy - the Water Dispensing Fridge! It's not plumbed in so I have to refill a tank, but it's still 100% than having to open the fridge every time I want water - which is often. Also my green toaster and kettle look very nice! You can also see the Pusheen Biscuit Jar there.

The entry and storage One of the most awesome things about the place is how much storage there is! There's a wardrobe and cupboard with shelves behind those mirrored door on one side and in the reflection you can see the bathroom door and another cupboard with frosted doors :OD And behind the white doors is the laundry...although there's quite a tale about getting the washing machine hooked up!

My new double bed! With my Pusheen doona cover! Love it! :OD The bed has four drawers underneath it providing yet more storage. I really should have enough space for everything...but those are fammous last words aren't they...

The COUCH, it's not actually as bright white as that photo suggestions, but still it's a risky choice, but it's so nice! Also I saved $100 on it because I got it through Gumtree because getting it new would have taken like two months. Of course, I was lucky that my mother's friend with her SUV was here so that she and Mum could pick it up, otherwise I probably wouldn't have been able to get it.

So there's a brief tour! I didn't take a photo of my credenza (where the TV is) because it's not very interesting since I haven't got my Siamese Fighting Fish yet.

I've got a fan above my bed now, it was just installed today and I've got it on now, rather than the air-con, it's doing a really good job I must say.

I've also got a side table for my couch along with an ottoman, that's very handy in that it's actually a double ottoman - there's a smaller one inside and the lid of the bigger can be turned over and it has a little tray on it, very handy for my plant.

Right, I'm cooking dinner at the moment so I better wrap this up and make sure my sausages aren't getting burnt!

Hope you enjoyed the apartment tour!

Ta-ta for now!

11:07pm: Man, it's been forever since I updated! Almost two months! I've let myself down, I've let my journal down and...maybe let you my loyal readers down, but probably not :OP

Anyway! Since my last update I've settled into my new role as Collections Librarian and it's been going awesomely! Not long into the job my supervisor said I was doing so well that it's pretty likely my contract will get extended! I sure hope so, because the apartment building is set to be completed in December this year and with an actual (nearly) full-time job I can probably afford to live in it.

Of course, there's also the chance that I'll actually interview to get the job permanently, which worries me purely because according the the law they can only judge an applicant based on how they interview (even if said applicant is int he position already) and I'm known for not been the best at interviews. Although I have been told that my interviewing skills are getting better so perhaps there's no need to worry. Fingers crossed!

So yes, the job has been going really well! I've caught up on the backlog and I'm learning new stuff - soon I'll be getting to know about cataloguing, which will be good because at present there's only one person there who can catalogue stuff from scratch so as you can imagine she's super busy! Plus new skills are always a bonus.

Suffice to say, I'm really happy with how life is going, I've got an awesome job, awesome co-workers and awesome peeks into the new books that are coming out. :O)

About the only downside is...it's not quite full-time as I mentioned, however I usually get an extra shift on the weekend which brings me up to 32 hours, which still isn't quite full-time, but seeing as I'm being paid as a librarian now certainly gives me way more money than I had before. Although I need to be careful in that respect, I went on a bit of a spending spree with Pusheen goods (ha ha no-one's surprised at that I bet!) as well as some Yuri on Ice related stuff so I don't have quite as much as hoped.

However! I did - for the first time in I don't know how many years - get a refund from my tax return! Which I meant to pay towards my HECs debt, I say meant because I managed to send it to the wrong account at the Tax Office. Which reminds me that I was meant to call them and find out where it is this week (I did it last Friday), but now it's the weekend again and I can't. Oh fail. I hope it hasn't disappeared...I need that it's like $1,500!

Lastly, I have had trouble making sure I get enough zzzs, I set up my FitBit to tell me when it's time for me to head off to bed, but then like a dumbass I ignore it and next thing I know I'm only getting 7 hours. Which doesn't sound too bad, but after a couple of days of this I end up with a headache and that's just not good.

Fortunately, I should be able to catch up on my zzzs tonight - for the first time in a while I won't be working either day on the weekend because I've only got half an hour left out of the total hours I can work (the maximum is 35, my part-time work is 28 hours, so that leaves me only 7 hours that I can do). I am heading over to M and Grandpa's tomorrow to play Canasta with M, but I don't need to get there until 11am.

Anywho, I'm gonna wrap this up now - perhaps next entry I can tell you about the saga of my 2-in-1 laptop LOL!

Goodnight all!

11:50pm: By work I mean write and by conditions I mean my digestive system deciding to be a complete asshole. Why you gotta hurt at such inopportune moments, gut? You suck and I'm offended.

I'm also starting this update way too late, do'h! Not that I have much to report, except...the landlord came in while I was out today (I gave him permission) to fix the tap...problem is...he didn't fix it and he also put the knob thing back weirdly, now it doesn't match the hot water knob, I have to turn them in two different directions! This is really confusing, seriously! But, I'm not sure I can really bring it up with the man, it's awkward. I'm starting to think I should just pay for a plumber to come and fix the dang thing myself. Sure, it's technically the landlord's responsibility but I'm getting a Hell of a good deal on rent here so, you know, maybe it's all fair in the end.

What else to report, well, I did spend quite a bit of time on the phone to Dad this evening, he was at Newtown, getting the place ready for the new tenants is proving to be quite difficult and poor Dad keeps having to do stuff! Also the last tenant or maybe the one before that did something weird to the internet and now he can't seem to connect. I tried to talk him through it over the phone, but no luck. He did talk to Mum later on though and when I called her myself she said that the new tenants who have just moved in seem to be a bit more tech-savvy so fingers crossed they can figure it out. Otherwise I'll have to go over there after skating tomorrow - I have to go to Macquarie Centre tomorrow because my beanie is being held at the shop for me!

Anywho, I should head off to bed because work calls tomorrow and all that jazz. I really hope I'll be able to write tomorrow! Come on me, I can do it, LOL!

For now, goodnight!

11:09pm: Which usually means I have to restart my laptop because I've tried going into the settings when this sort of thing happens, but I haven't been able to figure out what the deal is.

Anyway! I have exciting news! I finally did it! I went to the Aquarium shop in Manly where Dad used to buy his betta fish and got a nice greenish one whom I have called Fishenko. He's swimming around happily in my tank as I type. I am a bit worried that the heater and thermometre I put in there will start floating around, they've got suction cups on them but they don't seem to be suctioning like they're supposed to. Very rude.

Moving along, what else to report? Not much...I did finally remember to call the podiatrist and make an appointment, it's for Thursday at 11:30. Hopefully any issue with my orthodics will be fixed there, since like I said I feel like they might need to be readjusted, although my hips feel better now, yay!

Beyond that...not much going on in Mooseland, tomorrow though I need to apply to some jobs, because Mum's getting on my case about that and if I'm ever going to live in the apartment I'm planning to spend decades paying off I need the dough! I may have left applying for the secretary one a bit too late though...because I suck like that.

Annnd I was meant to do some Memes...but the mouse issue makes that a pain in the ass and it's a bit late to start on any right now, so I'm gonna do the lazy thing and skip it.

Oh and in closing, I'd like to thank the people of France for not fucking themselves over and electing the crazy ass right-winger. Although as I understand the guy who won doesn't actually represent a party...which seems to be quite the oversight when he has to fill 500 positions! How's this gonna work, seriously? France's political system does confuse.

Right, I shall be off now! Goodnight all!

11:14pm: From a young Australian tourist who went to Colombia, bought what she believed were sets of headphones from someone she met there and apparently didn't find it weird that they were given to her in black plastic bin bags secured with sticky tape.

To no-one's surprise (I'm sure) it turned out that each of these 18 packages contained not just headphones, but cocaine.

Now, it's possible that's just a really bad cover story and she did know, but if not I have no idea how anyone couldn't have been suspicious of something wrapped like that, it's the international symbol of "DRUGS ARE IN HERE"

Yaaawn, well I let myself get distracted and now it's on twenty minutes to midnight and I didn't get nearly enough zzzzs last night! Which might have explained why my digestive system was still being an ass. However, that might have had something to do with having to do the Year 2 Scripture Class by myself today! Fortunately, Mum gave me instructions on what to do and it went quite well, nice kids (with a few naughty ones, but none really bad) but still kind of nerve-wracking! I kept forgetting what to say and "um-ing and ah-ing" the whole way through. The career of a teacher is so not for me! :OP

However, I totally need to find myself some more hours...Dad and I met Mum at the office to sign the contract for the other studio apartment - the last one in fact! - and whilst the due date for the stamp duty resets itself (thank God because I had to pay that $650 fine today!) I'll need to be actually employed full-time (or equivalent hours) to be able to live there!

There is a part-time receptionist job that looks interesting, mostly afternoons, but it also seems to want someone who can fill-in when others are on annual leave or whatever - which depending on the day would be difficult...Plus there's one full-day on Friday - but Mrs S did say that if it was just one day I could change one of my three days so I could do that. Although...she did seem to forget that this morning when I spoke to her about it so I was bit worried :OP

But yes, let's not get ahead of oneself - I haven't even applied, LOL!

That in mind though, I'll need my wits about it, so now I shall be off to bed!

11:08pm: Yep, I've been making up a batch after last week's mix up when I thought my friend's house warming party was on! Had to eat most of those cupcakes myself, which could well explain why - according to the scale at the gym - my fat content has gone up. However...my actual weight has gone down, WTF? That doesn't even make sense...or maybe it does, fat weighs less than muscle. Still seems weird to me though.

Anyway! I gotta make the frosting before I go to bed, which is soon!

I've just remembered though that I forgot to call my other friend about coming to the house warming party! Fuuuck, it's probably too short of notice to do it now, but I guess I'll send her a text tomorrow and see if she's interested in coming.

Well, there's been some interesting developments re: the apartment situation, it would seem that we are going to buy one in the building we were originally looking at, as they've offered to sell a studio apartment that's in it at the same amount as the one in the 'Highline'. I'm still wondering if this is a good idea...I sure as Hell hope the builders aren't a bunch of shonks, I don't want to have to frig around with leaky bathrooms and whatever like Mrs S is right now (I have to come in early on Monday for this very reason, grumble grumble.) Hopefully it'll work out.

Not much else to say...although I had quite the busy day! I went to the mall after work and finally got around to buying some new gumboots, there was however a complete lack of Easter eggs, damn those things disappear so fast now! Sucks.

I also got to the gym, which I'm quite proud of since I've been slacking, plus there's probably going to be a fair bit of junk food in my weekend. :OP Plus there were still some eggs at the IGA across the road so I got some of those.

And there was also dinner at Mum and Dad's place, which the little bro also attended, Mum, Dad and the little bro had quiche while I had left over lasagna, delish! The parentals and I also watched Family Feud it was pretty hilarious as Dad kept ragging on the carry-over champion family who not only ended up winning the car, but finally getting the $10,000 Final Feud amount, LMAO. I told him I'd tell you all about this, so there you go. :OP

OK, the dishwasher which I put the beater whisks in has finally finished its washing so I gotta haul and get the frosting made! And then bed!

11:33pm: Yes! Although it was looking a bit dicey at around 10:30am when I noticed a message from the little bro saying he hadn't received the deposit from the Canadian girl yet and time was running out! He said he'd call her during his lunch break, but I prepared myself for the news I'd have to move.

Then just as I was about to get a phone number of a removalist Mrs S used when she moved last year I noticed another SMS had come in, it was good news! The Little Bro must have checked his bank account and the deposit was there! The move is off! :OD

So, that's a huge relief! Although I did briefly think maybe I should have moved in, because as I did tell Dad I sometimes do get lonely, but I'm more comfortable here. I just have to do more cleaning.

In less happy news, I made cupcakes tonight, but I must have done something wrong because they came out dry and tasting like crap. This hasn't happened to me in forever! They're pretty much unsalvagable too, like even if I slathered them with frosting they'd still taste icky. I'm a bit concerned the eggs might be off, I sure as Hell hope not because as I usually do when I make cupcakes I ate quite a bit of the batter. I guess all I can do is cross my fingers!

And make cupcakes tomorrow morning...since I really want to serve some up for Australia Day and just because. :OP

For now though, I better be off, although it's my day off and a Public Holiday besides I didn't get enough sleep the last two nights and that's sure to quick my ass if it continues.

11:15pm: And hopefully being cancelled!

Yes! This morning after doing a practice run to Mrs S's place from the apartment - and arriving with 10 minutes to spare (although it's still school holidays at the moment), I went to Mum and Dad's to discover Mum hadn't got the plastic tubs, because she'd been looking for crates - however, crates hurt like hell to carry once they're full - digging into the side of your fingers and all that. So I had to get the key to M and Grandpa's garage where I found the tubs in question and then it was off to the gym. As I was coming to the end of my work-out I got a call from the little bro saying that the Canadian girl had got back to him, letting him know she had found someone to take over her lease and that she was still interested in the apartment! Holy crap!

Of course, I'm sure you're all thinking "But Moose you gave in the Notice to Vacate yesterday! You're probably going to need to leave your granny flat anyway". That's what I worried about too, but I quickly called the agent who said they hadn't made a start on it yet! However, until I found out from Mum that everything was clear I couldn't outright cancel the notice so I told them I'd call back in the afternoon to let them know for sure.

By coincidence Dad called me up after that, to let me know about the crates in their storage shed, so I told him the news. He decided to stay out of it for now, LOL.

After the gym I headed back home, had some lunch, and a shower before heading off to my shift at the library. I spoke to Mum at home, but she said she needed to speak to the little bro in more depth before anything could be decided.

Just before going down to the library for my shift (I arrived in the area a bit early so did some shopping, there was bargains at Bed Bath and Table, I got some Christmas decos for the end of the year and a new swim/gym bag - it's rainbow!) I got a call from Mum, who said things looked promising with the Canadian, but it wasn't 100% so I would need to ask the agent if I could put the Notice on hold rather than outright cancelling it. She though it best to send an email, but I didn't actually have the agent who oversees my property's email address so I sent it to the original agent with a plan to call during my break to confirm she got it.

As it turned out the original agent wasn't in today so I ended up having to tell them over the phone after all! :OP But! If we're going to keep the same vacate date I'll have to give them a definitive answer tomorrow afternoon. Mum and I had hoped to be able to do it on Thursday, but then I remembered that's the Australia Day Public Holiday, so no dice.

But, I've SMSed the Little Bro since then and he seems pretty positive, so fingers and toes crossed all! Meanwhile, I'll take this opportunity to do some weeding of my posessions and what not. I do have quite a bit of crap that could probably go.

The only downside, I have to go back and get most of my hanging clothes back, as well as my spare TV and cube of fabric. Ah well, I gotta go to Mall at some point anyway so that's not so bad.

Anywho! I better wrap this up, since I do need to get to bed, however I will say this - Apple is a pain in the ass! A lady came into the library around 4pm trying to get advice on how to use some of the apps for e and audio books, but by 5pm she and the librarian on duty were having no luck getting onto the Apple App store because for some reason the lady's tablet was trying to sign up with her old email address. Eventually I came out to see if I could do anything, which thinking about it is kind of weird because I don't even use Apple!

Anyway, eventually I managed to figure it out and the lady was able to get one of the apps, hopefully she'll be able to get the other one's too, but who knows! But hey this will look good on my next review, fingers crossed. :OP

Right, off I go! Goodnight all!

PS: I almost forgot! The Fed-Ex triumphed tonight in his quarter final! Aaah he's such a boss! It's gonna be an all Swiss Semi-Final though, so fingers and toes crossed...

11:36pm: Well, at least somewhat as I'm writing this from the little bro's apartment, or I suppose I should call it my apartment. I decided to spend the night here after bringing over some more things including the kettle and giving notice (along with Mum) at the office of the agent that manages the Granny Flat. I'm hoping to practice the drive to Mrs S's place a few times before I move in completely just before going on the cruise.

However, this means I need to wake up half an hour earlier and thus I need to be in bed half an hour earlier...so I'll pretty much have to wrap up this entry here because I'm all ready late and when I don't get enough sleep a few days in a row I tend to get sleepy and headachey. In fact I all ready have a headache now, but that could be from being a bit dehydrated. The little bro doesn't keep a jug of cold water in the fridge here!

Anywho, this night has gone quite well, with the little bro and I hanging out in the living room watching the tennis, as I wrap this us Rafa's still on court, but alas, I can't stay up to see how it ends. Also our last Australian singles player is out, boo.

Right! Really gotta head off now. I'll have a more detailed report about the apartment next time.

Oh! And I ended up buying the green backpack, because I'm worth it. :OP

11:46pm: Whoopee! He's just won his first round match here at the Aussie Open! Frankly I was rather worried for a bit there...the first set was a hard one, and then in the second set he lost to his opponent, but he barreled back in the third and fourth, hooray! :OD

Speaking of Fed-Ex, I'm still waiting with baited breath for my phone to arrive, the Order Tracker still says order received, which does make me a little concerned that it won't arrive before it's off to Canberra with the parental units.

What makes it a bit more awkward is that I might have to give notice before I go. The little bro has had no luck finding a flatmate - the Russian girl didn't show up (WTF is the deal with people doing that? It's bloody rude!). There's one last possibility a Canadian girl who seems super interested, but then people might just say that kind of thing...Burg (aka the little bro) is hoping she can come by tomorrow, but if she doesn't I'll have to prepare to move. Which having driven over there today I realise will rather suck in terms of travel unless I want to hang out at my parents house a lot - which apparently they say I can do, but I dunno.

So yeah that's all up in the air...

Anyway, even though I'm not working tomorrow I need to wrap this up and hit the hay because I need to wash my car, I was going to do it this evening when I got back from Burg's apartment, but I had a headache and it was still hot so I didn't. Although apparently it's meant to be even hotter tomorrow... But I have to do other stuff too so yeah.

At least I got my Russian done today, go me.

11:36pm: Indeed so, but it was cooler today so there's that. And despite the cloudiness I think quite a few people went to the beach because it was a rather quiet day at the library. Which did make the time start dragging around 3pm, but one 4pm rolled around things went faster - although that could have been because I decided to check on incomplete items (which is part of my job - I get extra money for doing it :O)

I didn't actually get around to the little bro's this morning because I stayed up way too late and then lazed around too long so that had I been caught up in traffic on the way back I probably would have ended up late for work. So instead I'll be going over tomorrow afternoon to meet with the little bro, have an early dinner (of hotdogs!) and measure some stuff. Fingers crossed it all works out, especially since I found out that my lease actually ends on 28th January, so if I'm going to move out I really need to give notice ASAP.

Not much else to report, which is good since I do need to haul butt! I keep being five or so minutes late for work with Mrs S so I'm getting up earlier tomorrow which means going to bed earlier so I can get my 8 hours!

Still, I am trying to catch up on Memes, so before I flee...

11:43pm: OK, it's not as serious as all that, I needed to clean my house up after all, but she said she'd be coming by just before lunch today, but as you can guess from my title there, she did not.

Which was only an issue because I was waiting for her and was hiding from the hot weather so didn't go out shopping which I really should have done because I was out of cheese and then ran out of toilet paper. Oh dear.

As it happened I ended up heading over to the parentals because the proper documents for the studio apartment finally showed up (they had my parents' address wrong before) and the plan was that we'd have the next door neighbour over to witness us signing it. Also, for dinner - since I don't actually have anything...which isn't a hundred percent true I could have made some Alfredo.

But I was getting worried about the heat, thinking that perhaps my air-con wouldn't be up to it - although by the time I left my granny flat the weather was cooling down anyway - so off I went! We were supposed to be having pies and left over chicken for dinner, but the pies were coming from the retirement village's cafeteria and as it happened they were having that tomorrow not today so Dad and I had hamburgers instead. Good eatin'!

Alas, the papers didn't get signed because as it turns out we need to do it front of a Justice of the Peace which our neighbour isn't. Instead I'll be popping in on Thursday and we'll head down to the local Pharmacy.

Okedoke, gotta haul ass to bed, it's almost midnight. Have to keep my proper sleep up.

With any luck I'll be able to see my friends tomorrow, fingers crossed.

Oh and I also had to got the parental place so I could get a roll of their toilet paper, which I did before returning here, LOL.

Goodnight all!

10:52pm: "They" being the sleep scientists in the article I read the other day about how to get the best out of your sleep seeing as I've been waking up feeling a bit sleepy lately. Anyway, their advice was to make sure to close all your curtains and make your room nice and dark, now unlike Mrs S I've never had a problem with the sun waking me up in the mornings. Apparently the light can still affect your sleep making it lighter and thus not as restful. So I gave it a go last night and I certainly feel like I got a better night's sleep! At least until I was woken up a bit earlier than usual by a phone call from Mrs S asking me if I could come ASAP.

So that's what I did, which was for the best because I was able to finish early and get to the apartment by a quarter to 12 to inspect it. It was quite small, but some of that probably had to do with the fact that the current tenants had just moved from a four bedroom house and had a lot of stuff in there. The bathroom is a very good size though with enough room for a washing machine, which is nice. Also it's not at the front of the complex after all, so it's quite quiet and the parking spot isn't too far from the apartment although it isn't undercover or anything.

Of course, I doubt I can afford it, but it was good to see what's on the market! Although I did find out that last year a special levy was placed on all the units to help repair some concrete cancer that had got into the balconies - $40,000! Holy Hell, I can't imagine people having that sort of money just lying around, which begs the question what happens if you can't pay it? If you have to pay it in installments they'll be interest to pay off too, which just sucks.

After that it was off to Avalon for the Info Booth which went quite well, although it looks like I might have to find somewhere else to park, the Librarian recommended the Woolworths parking lot next door which would work if I had a short shift, but I don't! In fact after getting a call in the afternoon almost all of my shifts will be about five hours and there's a 3 hour limit at the car park. I certainly don't want to get caught out by a parking inspector. Those guys are harsh.

But the good news is these extra hours are at casual rates so I won't be living hand to mouth while Mrs S is away, which is a big relief. :O)

And now, once again whilst Memes calls me, bed calls me more! Man, when I finally get onto those things the back log will be insane.

On a final note Plushy has returned to Russia, but he's still got the neck brace on, of course, which hardly looks like the most comfortable thing in the world. I was just thinking how annoying it would be to wear one of those, I turn and/or tilt my head constantly, and it looks almost impossible to read comfortably in that thing! Poor Plushy.

Right, definitely need to hit the hay!

11:03pm: So today was the dreaded meeting, which I was late for, because my digestive system decided to be a bit of an ass, so I left rather late...and decided to park in a different place than I usually do.

The one upside of the whole thing was when I got on my third bus, and who should I see on there but one of my friends who was on his way to see his girlfriend. So that was cool, travel time sure flies when you're talking to a friend!

We were going to go our different ways at the QVB, but I guess my friend figured he wouldn't make it to his train, because just as the M30 I was on was about to leave he hopped on.

So, I got to the meeting and didn't notice at first that the old Resident Manager was there, but I sure did soon enough when things of course got awkward because he wanted to bitch about something in the agenda. At least until he was overruled.

I also discovered that it wasn't even worth my coming! Because there were too many votes for the new Executive Committee for them to be counted right then and there (at least not if we wanted to get out of there before 8pm), so w couldn't even do the second part of the meeting. Even worse? I hadn't paid my levies so I wasn't even able to vote for the new committee members anyway! Boooo! I really should ask them to send the levy notice to my flat, although I did pop by the apartment after the meeting to see if I had mail there - which I did...lots of it! Including the levies, so they're paid now.

And the apartment looks quite different what with the large bed in it (the couchbed is gone after all), but it still looks like home to me :OP I noticed that they've put those glow-in-the-dark stars on the upper doors of the wardrobe. Cool.

Interestingly enough I can still become a committee member, which I suppose is going to happen, sigh! I wonder when the next meeting will be...and if Mum and Dad will be back by then. But...who knows?

Then I had to get home, which wasn't that bad until I got to Dee Why and found myself waiting for 20 minutes or more for the bus that would take me to where I'd parked. Why the Hell did I park there anyway? Grumble, grumble, stupid digestive system. I think it might be related to that time o' the month, which is late according to the app on my phone, but I kind of messed up with it, so I don't think it's quite accurate...

Anyway, it's late again and I need to get myself to bed!

10:18pm: To the apartment building tonight, I got there around 6:15pm so I sat outside for a bit, which wouldn't have been so bad but a mosquito came over and bit my foot! So I went to the building and managed to get inside - since I forgot to bring any keys to the place. Then I proceeded to wait for 6:30...which came and went with no sign of anyone! Well except for the people who were coming in and out from their own apartments. I checked my email but there was no sign of an email cancelling it and there was also no mobile for the Strata Manager person and the bus that goes past the apartment was coming so after nearly half an hour I gave up and headed for home.

I had quite a good run actually! Particularly getting off the Limited Stops bus onto the 178, I almost missed it! So there was much arm waving and running. The driver had pulled away from the kerb, but she opened the door and let me on since there was a red light, so I got back to the apartment by 8:15.

Also, the figurine was returned! Which means the trip into the city wasn't a total loss, I just have to make sure that the gift card I got in return is kept safe and sound until Mum returns and can use it!

I also went to the library today, so I'm feeling very accomplished! However, I had quite a scare...when I got to the library and changed my shirt I discovered...my Activity Tracker was no longer in its clip! O.o My first thought was to go hunting for it, since I had no idea where it could be, but...I couldn't actually remember if I'd even put it in its little clip because I was in a bit of a hurry this morning...

So, even though my original plan was to go directly from the library to the city in the Limited Stops bus, I decided to head back to the flat in the hopes it would be there.

Alas, it was not D: I wasn't sure what to do, could it have fallen off in the bus, should I call the Brookvale Lost Property office or perhaps it had fallen off at Mrs S's place...There were many alternatives! So I took the bus to the bus stop I normally get off to go to work and walked towards Mrs S's looking carefully on the ground and feeling less and less hopeful...

And then! There it was on the ground just a few metres from Mrs. S's door! I could hardly believe my luck! It hadn't been stepped on or picked up by someone else or anything like that! Praise St Anthony the Patron Saint of Lost Objects!

So I have it back and now I have to wonder how I can prevent such a thing happening again, I suppose I'll have to put it in my actual pocket rather than clip it on the waistband. I wonder if it'll count my steps properly if I do that...guess there's only one way to find out.

And that was my jam-packed day! I have to be off to bed because I need to start half an hour earlier tomorrow as well as Mrs S and her husband are off to the Easter Show.

For now goodnight!

11:35pm: Yes! The new hard drive arrived this morning and it is now sitting inside my laptop with the contents of the old hard drive copied over and now no more warning whenever I start up that hard drive failure is imminent! And further to that, Windows now starts up quickly, like it used to. Sweeet.

I took my laptop over to the parentals before I had to head over to Mum's place of work and then we went to the apartment to attend a meeting (man, I hate those things, but what can you do?) which also gave me the chance to get the inflatable Scrabble from my Box Thing. Hopefully, I'll be able to convince some friends to play it with me. And find a way to inflate it without me needing to sacrifice my lungs!

So yes, I took the laptop over with the plan for Dad to help me with the hard drive replacement, but as it turned out I was able to do it pretty much by myself! I did need the help of their screw drivers so good thing I came! :OP Oh and of course I had to borrow one of Dad's external 1TB hard drives to copy the contents of the old drive to the new one.

I also cleaned my flat today, although as it turned out Mum didn't come by to see it when she dropped me off after all - oh well. I think though, the dust has effected my eyes which feel really dry right now. That being the case and the fact that it's 15 minutes to minute means I'm gonna wrap this up.

May all your computers treat you well!

11:17pm: The Strata Meeting that is, for one thing we didn't have that much to discuss, just four motions, I guess because it was an Executive Committee Meeting rather than just a general one anyone who has an apartment in the building can come to, so the result was a meeting that only went for an hour phew! Although, I managed to forget to bring my water bottle along, so I was a bit thirsty and annoyed because I filled it up with cold water especially and then just left it on the table at the parental abode.

Also I went to the doctor and remembered to ask for a referral to the pyschistrist and a script for my Zoloft, as well as the vaccine thing, unfortunately for me, Mum wasn't able to pick me up when TAFE finished (she went and visited the grandparents) so by the time I got the bus to Neutral Bay and got in to see the doctor the blood testing place in the Medical Centre was all ready closed. Boo. It opens at 8am tomorrow so I guess I can go then, I'm a bit leery though because of my history with blood tests, though I've been fine the last few times, so I guess I should suck it up. Or perhaps I can wait until the afternoon or something and go to a different blood test place (one that's still run by the same guys) which is on my way back to the Granny Flat. That might be a better idea, also it means I can get up at my usual time tomorrow.

In other news I managed to miss the 8:17am bus this morning, so I went around the corner to get the other bus and in typical running late style that bus was like 15 minutes late! The end result I was half an hour late to my class, crap! But luckily I hadn't missed too much and was able to catch up. We have a test tomorrow though and I haven't actually gone over the material three times as advised by the teacher, better do that on the bus tomorrow morning!

Any who, I'm here at the parental units place on my tablet, so I shall hold off in the Sunday Memes until tomorrow, plus Air Crash Confidential is on, so I'm going to concentrate in that before turning in for the night.

And now, I bid you all goodnight!

11:13pm: Man, always say that I'm going to get on AIM during the weekend, and then all sorts of things happen and I don't even get a chance! Boo!

Take today for example, Mum and I had to go to the apartment to wait for the moving men and also to give the two sets of keys to the new tenants. And wouldn't you know it? The moving men said they were coming at 12, but when mum called to see where they were when they hadn't arrived by 12:30, she was told they'd been held up until 1:30! Pft!

Then to make matters worse, the tenants were dealing with moving men of their own and wouldn't be able to get to the apartment until 2:30! Well, that was no good either, and as it turned out Mum and I got our wires crossed re: the key giving situation, apparently she wanted me to give them a single set when they came by last week, but since they hadn't paid the bond I thought I wasn't supposed to give them any. Then of course there was the fact we couldn't find the second set (although we have three sets, but we're supposed to keep one obviously). But anyway, Mum and I weren't going to wait, so we or rather Mum arranged for them to come to the parental abode to get them.

We also did some more cleaning because once we moved the couch bed in preparation for the moving men we discovered the carpet under it needed a good vacuum. Also the top of the air-con...

But everything was done and the moving men did at least show up at 1:30 as promised and I at least had my tablet with me to keep me entertained and I set Mum up on my mobile with online TV, although she only got to watch 10 minutes of it, in the end.

There was a bit of an issue on the way home, there was an accident so we got caught in traffic for a while, but once we got past it, it was fine. Plus Mum was nice enough to drop me off at the gym so I had a good work out, yay!

I also made lasagna from the left over mince tonight, most yummy, although Dad must be adding something new to his recipe because there's an interesting taste to it now.

Aaand, looking at the time, it's a bit late for memeing, so I shall skip that, it's all be easier to do on my laptop at home. After I clean my bedroom area when I return. Mum dropped some stuff off there this afternoon and found it unacceptable. Parents, man. :OP

Bit enough complaining I better get myself to bed, I've been under sleeping a bit lately, so I better rectify that! Also it's back to work tomorrow, so wish me luck.

Goodnight!
