10:53pm: To always wear our seatbelt, because some petty crook just got himself killed because he crashed his car, wasn't wearing his and ended up going through the windshield. I still don't get how you can drive without a seatbelt on, how do you not slide off the seat when you have to break suddenly?

Moving on from automobile safety or lack thereof, I discovered that I didn't have work today after all, fortunately I realised this before I went there. Although I should have gone to Mona Vale today to buy a new heater for the fish tank, when I got home from Mum and Dad's this morning I discovered the temperature on the fish tank was reading well under 19 degrees. Fishenko's still swimming about, but I do worry about him.

I didn't get a chance to go shopping at all today, though I meant to after going to the gym this afternoon, however I oh so unhelpfully forgot to bring my backpack with me and thus didn't have my wallet. Do'h fail. Oh well, at least still had my homemade pizza left so I had something for dinner at least. However...I don't actually have anything for breakfast tomorrow, I discovered when I got home that my milk went off several days ago (maybe that's why I've had stomach pain the last few days...) and yeah it was getting quite cold when I got home from the gym so I didn't go down to the service station to get it.

Ugh, crap I'm trying to do my Russian but there's a phrase I'm really stuck on...and I'm running out of time, I need to get to sleep soon because I have to get to work with Mrs S fifteen minutes earlier than usual tomorrow so that means getting up earlier.

So yeah, I gotta wrap this up, LOL story of my life. :OP

11:33pm: Yes! Although it was looking a bit dicey at around 10:30am when I noticed a message from the little bro saying he hadn't received the deposit from the Canadian girl yet and time was running out! He said he'd call her during his lunch break, but I prepared myself for the news I'd have to move.

Then just as I was about to get a phone number of a removalist Mrs S used when she moved last year I noticed another SMS had come in, it was good news! The Little Bro must have checked his bank account and the deposit was there! The move is off! :OD

So, that's a huge relief! Although I did briefly think maybe I should have moved in, because as I did tell Dad I sometimes do get lonely, but I'm more comfortable here. I just have to do more cleaning.

In less happy news, I made cupcakes tonight, but I must have done something wrong because they came out dry and tasting like crap. This hasn't happened to me in forever! They're pretty much unsalvagable too, like even if I slathered them with frosting they'd still taste icky. I'm a bit concerned the eggs might be off, I sure as Hell hope not because as I usually do when I make cupcakes I ate quite a bit of the batter. I guess all I can do is cross my fingers!

And make cupcakes tomorrow morning...since I really want to serve some up for Australia Day and just because. :OP

For now though, I better be off, although it's my day off and a Public Holiday besides I didn't get enough sleep the last two nights and that's sure to quick my ass if it continues.

So for now, goodnight!

11:50pm: Yeah, yesterday as I was coming home from the parental units place I popped by the 7-11 to get some milk and decided to pick up one of these Santa belly Krispy Kreme donuts, which are super cute looking. I didn't eat it last night because I'd all ready had quite a few sweet, but I warmed it up for dessert tonight and let's just say it was not the best decision. It was just waaay to sweet, my stomach felt so weird afterwards that I almost had a panic attack!

Bah, I don't even care for Krispy Kreme donuts anyway so I don't know what the Hell I was thinking...

Anyway, that was basically the most activity I got done today I'm sorry to say...my mother ended up going swimming in the morning so there was no reason for me to go over since I wouldn't be able to go swimming myself and my big bro was having friends over, so...

I probably should have gone out, lying around all day is no good for me...or my step count. :OP I hope to rectify that tomorrow with not just work but going swimming with Mum at M and Grandpa's place.

Oh! And my the landlord's wife dropped off a small present for me today! How nice of them! I should have at least given them a card...shame on me.

But! It's nearly midnight so I better haul, before I go...I wrote a little fic for my friend [personal profile] crossover_chick for her birthday! Happy Birthday, Vic! This is the first writing I've done in a while so I'm totally rusty...

11:32pm: It's rain! Rain has finally returned to Sydney.

Well, I think it's actually rained a few times before now, but only a tiny bit in the middle of the night, but this rain we got was loud enough to attract my attention.

It also means the humidity broke today! Although alas not soon enough to save my ham, which I stupidly forgot to put in the fridge when I got home today and had to throw out because it spent 6 hours in the 'danger zone'. Booo.

However, the shopping was successful, I returned the suction shower rack to K-Mart for a refund and not only did I find some cute winter pjs with penguins on them for 12 bucks, I found the over the cupboard door hanging rack for the kitchen I've been looking all over for! Not sure how I missed that the first time I went, but now it's hanging on the cupboard door under the sink and all is well.

In other news...Plushy finally revealed what's going down, and the news I fear is not good, he has to have an operation for a pinched nerve in his neck and will need 6 months of rehab! Poor Plushy, sounds painful as Hell. I hope it works though! It'd suck to go through all that and still have a weak arm. But also a huge blow to his plans to put on another big skating show at the end of this year. :O(

And lastly, because I need to get my ass to bed pronto, I have to confess to being quite disappointed in Australia's Got Talent tonight, once again the finalists were all singing acts! All talented people of course, but they have singing shows all ready. Plus, how could the magicians not get in?! They made a an ice cream truck appear out of thin air and everyone got to have some! Also, Erik the Dog didn't get in either, which I guess was less of a surprise, but come on, that dog was awesome.

Right, I better dash! I got an unexpected phone call re library shifts at Mona Vale so I'm on tomorrow and Thursday, so tomorrow will be a busy day.

Not Cool...

Feb. 9th, 2016 10:56 pm
anonymoose_au: (Whoops)
10:34pm: What's not cool? Well, firstly even though I've been very careful with my acne treatment cream my new Garfield nightshirt has faded a bit on the back! Son of a... I suppose I'll have to live with the damage so far and just not wear it until I finish up the cream. Although, I'm not sure how long that'll be...

Also not cool, today I felt quite icky, which resulted in me skipping the gym today, which I was most disappointed about. It was even worse when I realised what the cause probably was...the cheese I used on my pizza last night was mouldy! I actually knew this and thought that throwing out the effected bits would keep me safe, but as the internet informed me this was not the case. Not to mention when I took the leftover pizza out of the fridge and saw a spot of green on it. Ugh.

I've thrown the shredded cheese and the pizza out, which truly sucks. And of course, I was left rather anxious and troubled in the abdominal area for the rest of the day, so yeah. Damn shredded cheese, I never get through it fast enough and have to throw it out. Maybe I should buy the smaller packets available at Coles rather than trying to save money with Aldi.

Anyway, I didn't take anything to the new granny flat today either, which is not cool either because once Thursday rolls around I'll be working at the library which will kind of eat into moving time, so lucky for me I got that extra week. Although, I probably would have made a bigger push if I didn't have that time.

And finally, in the 'not cool' list, I've dilly-dallyed on applying for the library job and now I've only got tomorrow left to do so! Damn! That's cutting it close, but I guess that's what I get. :OP

Also...I didn't get enough zzzs, which has probably not helped my overall sense of health, so I shall be turning in now.

Tomorrow, I'll be meeting Mum at the new place to set up the shelves for the baskets so wish me lots of luck!

For now, goodnight!

10:20pm: Well, that's a slight exaggeration...but I shall have a green cover for the Kindle I got from my Aunt, it was a bit more costly then things I have recently purchased from Ebay, but I wanted the same kind of cover as I currently have just in green and $18.11 on Ebay is a damn sight cheaper than what it would cost to get from Amazon. The cover itself costs like $9 there, but the postage is something outrageous! We're talking $35! Total rip-off Amazon, uncool.

Anyway, I'm not sure how long it will take to arrive because it's coming from England, sometimes stuff comes quickly from there, but other times...not so much. I shall keep you posted.

In other news, tomorrow is one for the green lovers and those who are Irish, St Patrick's Day, whoo! I'm very much looking forward to busting out the green shirt, which will fortunately be dry.

I was a bit concerned this morning because when I got up my poor lower digestive system was being a bitch and it was very icky. I ended up taking some of my stomachache pills for it, which seemed to help...that and concentrating on work. :OP I was worried that it might have been from my lasagna because I kind of forgot to put the mince away when I cooked it on Saturday night. I imagine that cooking it at 280 degrees C would have rendered it quite safe...so perhaps I just had a bit too much cake. Also, it could be a bit of nerves as my parents will be leaving for three months soon and that bums me out a bit...I shall be seeing them tomorrow though so that's nice. :O)

It almost makes me want to drive them to the airport, buuuut...not really because driving over the Bridge by myself is a bit much. I just hope my little bro can do it, otherwise they'll have to catch the Airport Taxi and I know Mum will hate that. :OP

Oh! And there's been some excitement with the gameshow I like to watch every weeknight, there's been a champ on it for 14 nights now, and he finally won the $500,000! But undeterred he's going to go for the $750,000 tomorrow! He's got $300,000+ in safe money, but still what a risk. He's like the master at answering questions though, so who knows...maybe he'll go all the way.

On a final note, I had to redo one side of the zipper I sewed on my bag when I realised I'd accidentally sewed it on wrong and thus the bag was looking kind of weird. It's all good now and hopefully it'll stay that way. Go resourceful me!

In closing, I shall do a Meme or two and then it's time for bed!

Bookcases

Two part question:

In an ideal world, what kind of book cases would you have? Built-ins? Barrister ones with glass doors? The cheapest you could find so you could have lots of them?

Ooo, I'd really love built in ones with glass doors - although the glass doors would no doubt get fingerprints all over them. On the upside in an ideal world I'd have someone to clean them for me LOL! I'd also like them to be floor to ceiling even though I don't really like climbing ladders, :OP

And … what kind of bookcases do you REALLY have?

Well, I do have built-ins and two freestanding ones, and they're quite nice. One of the freestanding ones is white and is made up of six cube partitions and is where I put my Agatha Christies' I've also got an old 70s style one which I haven't actually put books in yet... As for the built ins - in my apartment they're part of the wardrobe and aren't exactly right because I need to store my books in crates which I then pull out. Here at the flat they're next to the kitchen counter, and I really should get them reinforced because they're bowing a bit in the middle, gulp!

Follow Friday Four Fill-Ins

The statements:

1. The worst feeling in the world is panic, fuck that, I say.

2. I would rather clean my toilet than washing dishes by hand, pain in the ass.

3. I can ice skate without falling on my ass but I wish I could do crossovers!

4. The song I Wanna Dance With Somebody evokes memories of the late 80s - early 90s because it was on a cassette called The Chipmunks Rock 'N' Roll or something like that...that my brothers and I got and listened too aalll the time, LOL.

Friday5

But Seriously...

1. What’s something most people just don’t take seriously enough? Um...I dunno. If we're talking the Australian Government? Climate Change.

2. What’s something most people take too seriously? Religion, man, always religion.

3. What kind of serious business are you up to today? Well, I'm about to head to bed, but during today? Well, making sure I do all the things necessary for Mrs. S is srs.

4. When did you last get the giggles at a time when you were expected to be serious? Uh...gee...I dunno?

5. What are some foods you think of as serious, and what are some you think of as funny? Serious food? Uh...I guess a roast is serious, whereas jelly (gelatin for the US friends) is amusing. :O)

11:46pm: It's most disappointing, I've looked up the issue on Google and have a few ideas, but I'm not sure what I'm going to do if I can't fix it, I can't afford to take my laptop in to get it fixed, I've all ready spent $160 on it this year. Don't die on me laptop keyboard!

In other news, I made the cupcakes for Mum and M who will be taking them to a fete tomorrow, but I'm really quite concerned that something went wrong with the recipe and I don't know if they'll actually end up tasting right. They seem very heavy, but I followed the recipe exactly! I really should have just used the recipe I did for butterfly cakes a week or so ago, or even my usual chocolate cupcake recipe, those all turned out great. Sucks. Since they're being sold, it's embarrassing to think they might taste shitty...perhaps the frosting will make up for it, although I ran out of cocoa powder so I had to make vanilla, which came out quite nicely, but chocolate frosting is my favourite! And I totally want some now, LOL.

Anyway, I'm happy to say that I've finally hit the 50% mark of NaNo, but of course there's only 9 days left so now I really need to kick it up a notch! Although as I said I'm at least at an interesting part of the stories where lots of kingdoms are been visited so I'm not running low on ideas at least.

Here's my current word metre!

25502 / 50000 words. 51% done!

And right now I'm watching Great Crimes and Trials of the 20th Century, tonight's episode features the first person to be executed after the US decided "Hey executing people is just fine" and it was in Utah. Where the guy choose to die by firing squad, once again I ask "What the fuck? WHAT THE FUCK?" Apparently Utah still allows that, that's totally sick. I was thoroughly confused by the DA being all "We want to keep this as decent an event as possible." Is that even compatiable with shooting an unarmed person in cold blood? Bloody US law.

And that's all I have to say about that.

11:04pm: I change my appointment to get the laser thing done and when I get to Neutral Bay and go looking around at the second hand shops - I'm still looking for shorts - and what do I see in the window of the Salvation Army but a pair of figure skates! OMG! I waaaaant. But of course, I have no idea if they fit me because of course I couldn't go in there. And of course this would happen when next week is all about the Clinical Placement. I finish at 3pm, but the Salvation Army shop closes at 4pm. I've checked my transport app but I really think there's no way I could get there in time. Damn. Who knows if they'll be there by next Saturday? I don't know what I can do, unless I can convince Mum to go and see about their size and get them if they're a 37, although, I wonder if I did get them if I'd actually do that much skating. The only rink anywhere near me is quite a distance away, two buses away in fact, and if I got them and didn't use them that would be a shame. Hmmm...decisions, decisions.

In other news, I made some jelly today, because there was a packet of it in the cupboard and I'm supposed to be making some for a friend's get together in a few week's time so I should see if I'm any good at it. You may laugh, but I recall completely screwing up last time I tried to make it and it never set! However, it's still got 15 minutes to go before it's been in the fridge for the minimium four hours, although thinking on that I should probably just leave it in there overnight to be on the safe side. Although it's a warm night and some jelly would be nice...

Anyway, let's do a meme!

Saturday 9

:Welcome to My Nightmare (1975):

1) Tell us about a bad dream you've had.

Well, I sometimes have these dreams where I'm on the beach and the waves start getting bigger and bigger and become a tsunami! I'm rather terrified of big waves since I got caught in a rip when I was swimming at a beach after a storm and the surf was big. So yeah, that one always set me on edge.

2) Sam is not crazy about spiders. What frightens you, or gives you "the creeps?"

Eh, I've never seen a huntsman or a red back or anything, but in general I'm not that worried by them. I absolutely hate ants, they scare the hell out of me!

3) This week's featured artist, Alice Cooper, has always liked to dress up. Performing as Alice, he wears garish eye makeup. In his first group, he and his bandmates dressed as the Beatles. Will you be wearing a costume this weekend? Nope, although I did put that green chalk in my hair last night, I thought it looked pretty sharp, LOL.

4) Alice says his makeup was inspired by Bette Davis in his favorite horror movie, Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? This Halloween weekend, will you seek out horror movies and scary TV shows, or will you avoid them?

Well, I'm watching Crime Investigation Network, but I hate gore and horror in movies so I'm steering clear!

5) Born Vincent Furnier, Alice used to tell reporters that he and his band got the name Alice Cooper from a Oujia board. Have you ever tried a Oujia board?

Nope, I seem to recall my mother telling me I should never use one because they're eeeevil. Or that could have been a dream or something. Either way, nope, I haven't.

6) Alice and his band (also called Alice Cooper) were discovered by music manager Shep Gordon while playing in Venice, California. Have you ever visited Venice, California or Venice, Italy?

Definitely not Venice Italy, sadly, though my parents have. As for Venice, California, I have been to Los Angeles, but not to that area.

7) In 1970s England, a morality campaigner named Mary Whitehouse persuaded the BBC to ban Alice Cooper. The ensuing publicity resulted in such a bump in record sales that Alice sent Ms. Whitehouse flowers. Do you believe in censorship? Or should adults be able to choose to see/hear whatever they wish?

Ha, ha, major fail Ms Whitehouse. And no, I think adults should be able to see/hear whatever they wish...well unless it's child pornography because that's fucked up beyond anything.

8) Today Alice has a popular syndicated radio show, Nights with Alice Cooper. Listeners all over the United States, Germany, Denmark, New Zealand, and the UK hear him introduced as, "a man for whom even Dr. Phil has no cure." Do you watch Dr. Phil?

Really? I had no idea! And nope don't watch Dr. Phil, I heard that he isn't even a doctor either medical or with a PHD for shame. :OP

9) Did you get many trick or treaters this year? What candy did you give them?

Nope, Mum's friends in the main house got a few, but I wasn't there to see any.

The (Other) Friday Five is up but it's all about Halloween which I don't do enough to make answering them worth it, so instead I shall wrap it up here! I've got to get up at a decent hour tomorrow so I can finish cleaning the kitchen and put more stuff on my shelves, Mum is coming over to check it out, so yeah.

For now, I say goodnight!

11:41pm: Ah whenever I hang out with my friends I always wonder why we don't all hang out more! Man, I need to work at being more sociable and whatnot. I definitely lose my social skills when I'm not hanging around with people enough.

I did however manage to almost lost my voice! In fact I did! Which was rather disturbing...if not quite unexpected because usually I am loud when hanging with my friends and I've never lost my voice before. It seems to have come back now though, so phew! If I lost my voice it'd be pretty hard to work on Monday and we all know I can hardly afford to take a day off!

I made my cupcakes and frosting, but something went seriously wrong with the latter and although the internet told me of a way to resurrect them it wasn't possible at my friend's place because she doesn't have beaters. My parents also don't seem to have beaters, but they do have a milk frother thing which seemed to work a bit although the frosting is still rather runny, do'h!

Anyway...it's late so I better wrap this up. The guts are much better today, I managed to get my lincense renewed, although I have to wait for it to arrive in the post, got the discount too so it only cost me $86 rather than $166.

And I got writing done! Although I'm still behind by about10,000 words, do'h! Tomorrow is definitely the day for catching up.

10:31pm: I'm afraid I didn't get nearly as much writing done today as I hoped, primarily because of a rather dumb move on my part. Last night I went to the supermarket and purchased a few things, including a carton of milk. However, I managed to forget about said carton and so left it out all night! I decided though to have cereal anyway...Which, you know wasn't the smartest move...and it left me quite worried as I travelled on the bus. Even worse was I forgot my earphones so I was unable to listen to my anti-panic attack audios which almost resulted in me having a full-blown panic attack! Fortunately I was able to fend it off by making a phone call to my mother, but the long and short of it was...not much writing done, even though I did write on the bus home. Bummer.

I also had that appointment in the Samsung shop, which I probably didn't need to do, because the phone is working very well, but the man there did clean out the USB port of it, so hopefully it'll stop getting so hot sometimes. He also told me that the particular battery that it uses means I shouldn't let the battery run out or leave it charging for too long, so must keep that in mind.

Once, I got home I investigated the Box situation, but damn me, I didn't follow my mother's advice and called ahead so the woman who owns the car wasn't at the shop so the car couldn't be moved, do'h! There was a brief moment where it looked like she'd left her car keys in the shop so her mother could move the car, but no dice. So it looked like I'd have nothing to show my citizenship at my interview tomorrow!

I decided though to look in a few more places in the apartment, but no dice and finally admitted defeat, although by this point the apartment was looking quite messy indeed, so I decided to do a bit of cleaning, putting things away in the wardrobe when what should I come across, but a basket I hadn't looked in yet and...

My passport was in it! Out of date, of course, but at least I won't look totally inept tomorrow. Whew! And hooray! :OD Now I just have to make sure I wear the right outfit tomorrow and make sure I interview well.

I also located a JP, one of my coworkers pointed out that there's a law office in the building, and there was a JP there! Apparently there's another JP in the building, but I went to the law office, the JP was at lunch when I first went, but I came back later and got everything signed. I haven't heard from the Registry Office about my birth certificate yet, but I hope they get back to me soon.

So, it turned out to be a good day after all! Although the apartment is still in a mess and I really don't have time to clean it, whoops.

Ah well, I should try and do something, type a few more words...so here's the word count for now:

Hey 13%, cool. And still no Booking Through Thursday up, it's been a month now, I wonder if they've given up on it. Oh well... For now, goodnight! <table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0" width="">

anonymoose_au: (I LOOOOVE Chocolate)
10:54pm: Yes, there's a baby shower for a co-worker tomorrow so what better excuse to make cupcakes! And this is a particularly good batch if I do say so myself :OD Although I'm slightly concerned about the small teaspoon of salt I put in, or rather the type of salt, I didn't realise it was quite so gradulated, I really should be putting fine grains in there, especially since I don't have proper beaters right now. I think it'll be OK though.

In other news, today is Nelson Mandela's 94th birthday! Happy Birthday to a great man! :O)

And Le Tour is back, they're going into the Pyrennes now and I just saw the strangest markings on the road, I swear it was a whole bunch of sperm. Honestly, the French.

Oh and I discovered that Cadel is still holding out hope he can do something to win the race, I hope so! I haven't managed to spot him yet but I can see Bradley Wiggins because he stands out in that yellow jersey. Come on, Cadel!

I was going to take the cupcakes to work, but I can hardly do that if they taste like complete ass can I?

Uh...well yes, only problem is I can't for the life of me think of what it could be. I'm pretty damn sleepy which probably doesn't make this any easier. Something from Adrian Mole probably.

Anyway, I'm gonna turn in now, and wonder what to do about my cupcakes, unpack my stuff which my little bro brought over (fortunately he was able to borrow the car and do his moving during the day so I didn't have to drive the car over the bridge after all) and of course water the plant! 10:21pm: Indeed! Dad's new tablet has this calorie counter app on it, so I've decided to have a go at it, and dearie me, the last two days have involved me going over my daily suggested calorie intake by a fair amount. Whoops, no wonder my weight is still the same! Still, if I'm getting muscles that's a good thing.

However, I'm also somewhat perturbed my lack of foresight after discovering Dad and I had left the chicken we cooked on the barbeque on said barbeque with the lid on for the whole night and a fair amount of day. Now the internet tells me once you leave chicken out for two hours it should be thrown out, but did I do that? No sir, I made a sandwich with it! I feel quite fine, but one should be careful...I did that a few weeks ago too! I hope I'm not dancing with food posioning here. On the other hand, there's a general sense of germophobia about these days. I mean you've got to have quite a bit of germs before you fall down sick, otherwise you'd never be healthy! At least, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. :OP

Anyway, things have got serious with Dad, a few months ago it looked like his heart operation could wait for a while since he lost weight after his back operation, but after seeing the doctor the other week they sent him in for an angiogram that showed a fair bit of blockage in the conoary artery, so he has to go in for surgery next week! It's a bit worrying, but I'm sure he'll be OK, but still serious business!

Not much else to report, went exercise today, always good times, although I'm not sure what to do about stretching, pilates isn't my bag, but the yoga is on at like 6:15am so yeah not going to do that. Maybe i'll just have to try some self-directed activities on that.

Don't have any else to report so I'll be off now.

Goodnight all!

9:40pm: I'm here at M's house after a bit of bruhaha because I spent so long at one of my friend's houses. Originally, I was going to go straight to M's house from there and Dad gave me the leftovers from Christmas dinner yesterday in a cooler bag, which I left in the car for like 7 hours. There was an icepack in there too and I can't really say how long it stayed frozen... It smelt OK though...Er...on a scale of one to ten how much danger do you think I've put M and myself in?

If we don't survive...avenge our deaths!

In the meantime, let's do this meme here...

2011 - The Year That Was

Go to your Calendar and find the first entry for each month of 2011. Post the first line of it in your journal, and that's your "Year In Review."

January: 1:08am: Here's a taste of the fabulousness that was the Fireworks Display for NYE 2010!

February: 9:55pm: Or rather it was, or rather it still is, but I fortunately am in my bedroom with the air conditioner on so it's now nice and cool. (Errr...it was hot)

March: 11:30pm: Yes indeed... (The subject heading was regarding RPG eating my brain, nothing much has changed! :OP)

April: 10:30pm: Not mine though, my friend's, although it wasn't exactly her's either... We got a good meal though and my friend got to catch up with her classmates. (This was a bout a Graduation Ceremony)

May: 11:23pm: When you're playing a game, sadly I don't have enough time to finish it before tonight, shame!

June: 10:17pm: I think the milk in my fridge must have been starting to turn, because I had a horrible stomachache for most of the day.

July: Everybody! Everybody try this game!

August: 10:40pm: It's the 1st of August! (Well, duh!)

September: 10:00pm: When I woke up this morning I had a funny feeling in my right eye, like it was twitching and when I looked in the mirror my suspicions were confirmed.

October: 10:54pm: Can we all say 'eeeeeee!' (This is about Merlin premiere-ing :O)

November: 11:10pm: NaNoWriMo that is!

December: 10:56pm: I'm sure you all see what I did there, and it's quite relevant to what happened today. (Subject heading Attention to Detaile)

Hmmm, same stuff different year, but it's good stuff really so hey good to know.

Anyway, as I said I'm here at M's house because Grandpa is away with Mum on that cruise and M managed to have a bit of a fall yesterday and hurt her shoulders. They're healing up which is good, but she's still having trouble with somethings. So here I am! She actually said that I could come tomorrow since I stayed so long at my friends' place, but Dad was so annoyed when I got back to the parentals, so...I figured I head onwards since it would have been awkward otherwise.

But! I've been able to help M with things like preparing dinner and putting on the dishwasher so I feel I've done a good thing.

And I've been momentarily distracted by my legs, I should have waxed them better...dang, have to deal with that when I get back home...or maybe ask Dad to bring the self-waxing kit here when he comes to visit tomorrow since I am wearing shorts. We'll have to see.

In the meantime though, I shall wrap up this entry and be on my way! (Also, sore knee oww.)

Goodnight all! And Happy Boxing Day!

Oh and a special thanks to [livejournal.com profile] docsgirl for the Christmas fic! Look out for your birthday card :O)

10:45pm: So tomorrow I've got an interview in Bondi, but I just realised a while ago that I left my resume at my parents house. Which is just great, this means I have to go back to my parents house tomorrow to get it, which sucks ass and will cost me in bus fare and time.

In other news, I cooked a hamburger patty tonight for dinner, only problem it was disturbingly rare, I have no idea why because it was starting to get burned. What the Hell is that all about? Very annoying.

I'm rather confused about tonight's Law & Order: SVU the military is involved and they can't seem figure out if they're for or against the death penalty right now. Although once again, Olivia's managed to fuck things up. I really hope real life police aren't that inept because I'd hate to be railroaded.

But since this in TV, Olivia's managed to turn things around, but she still has to take personal time. Man those SVU people.

And when I start banging on about SVU, you know I haven't got anything else to report, so I'll be off now, LOL. Goodnight!

10:17pm: I think the milk in my fridge must have been starting to turn, because I had a horrible stomachache for most of the day. It certainly made work rather uncomfortable, and I couldn't even make my hot chocolate because I didn't feel like I could drink it!

On the other hand...would the milk have hit me that quick? I mean I tasted it before I put in on my cereal and it seemed all right. Hmm mysterious. I hope it goes away tomorrow.

Although I've got a bit of conundrum there, on Friday at 10am I have my pyschiatrist appointment, I've got time off work for it but should I go over to my parents' house tomorrow night? On the one hand it'll make the appointment easy to get to, on the other if I go I'll miss my show! But I can watch it later online. But then, the person who I started work with is leaving on Friday, and I've still got some buttermilk left so I was going to make cupcakes, which I can't do at my parents' house because I can't take all the ingredients over.

Although how am I supposed to get the cupcakes to work anyway? I'll have to take them via the pyschiatrists office either way! Hmmm...ponder, ponder ponder!

I'll have to ask Mum I guess, she's supposed to call soon about Dad who had an operation on his back today (serious business!), which got pushed back from 1pm to 4pm so we haven't heard much yet.

Anyway, what do you, my LJ friends think I should do? I suck at decision making so I need help, LOL!

And I'll be off now, I'm cleaning out my laptop, boy, is it running low on space...hopefully that can be rectified soon.

For now, I bid you all goodnight!

11:02pm: Fortunately that there doesn't refer to my Nano which is going very well indeed - as can be observed here!

21827 / 50000 words. 44% done!

No, the problem was my stomach ached today and I was quite disturbed about it. As it turned out though, I found the cause, the milk I had in my cereal this morning was off. I didn't taste weird, but it smelt off tonight - my mother noticed it. So hopefully I'll be feeling much better tomorrow.

And Memes please:

5/11/10

Packing

1.How far ahead of time do you begin packing for a weekend trip?

I dunno...depends where I'm going...I'm usually a real last minute packer though.

2.What was your most recent purchase of a six-pack?

I don't drink alcohol or fizzy drink so never.

3.What do you look for in a good everyday backpack?

Sturdy, got room to keep books in it and a mobile phone pocket, because trying to find that thing otherwise is impossible.

4.Among people you know, who’s the worst packrat?

Me! Totally me...I keep old assignments from university, no joke.

5.How do you know when it’s time to pack it in each evening?

Well, before midnight generally...

12/11/10

1.When you’re sick in bed, do you prefer to be left alone or to be taken care of?

Left alone generally, because if I'm in bed I'm probably going to be asleep, so there's not point in someone hanging around and staring at me.

2.How difficult or cooperative are you as a patient?

Dunno, not that bad I guess.

3.It’s just a really bad cold so all you can do is ride it out. What are your strategies?

Lie in bed, sleep, drink lots of water, take Sudafed to stop my nose running and moan a lot.

4.How ill do you have to feel in order to shut it down for the day?

Uh...it really depends...probably less than the average person though.

5.Waves of nausea are washing over you and through you. Do you fight them off, or do you just throw up to get it over with?

Due to my emetophobia I'll fight them! I'll fight them on the beaches, in the air and on the battlefield. But alas I've discovered if it's really bad nausea or a stomach virus or something then you're fucked, but I can't help but fight it anyway, it's like a natural instinct for me.

The (Other) Friday Five

Birthdays

1. Do you really make wishes when you blow out the candles on your cake?

Nah, 'cause I can never think of anything in the heat of the moment.

2. Have any of the wishes ever come true, if yes?

Nah.

3. How do you feel about birthdays? (e.g. love the attention, just another day, don't want anyone to know my real age, etc.)

I love my birthday! There's cake and presents and friends! Embrace it my fellows, embrace it.

4. Tell us a favorite gift you've received, or something you'd really like for your next birthday.

Oh I suck at remember what gifts I've got. I did though, get tickets to The Corrs concert in 1997, and whilst concerts make me nervous, it was really great to watch.

5. What flavor cake?

Chocolate of course! Accept no substitues.

The (Other) Saturday Six

6/11/10

Favourite Movie Soundtracks

1.Name 6 of your favourite Movie Soundtracks and also a favourite track from each one?

Back to the Future
- Main Theme
Harry Potter and the Philospher's Stone - Opening Theme
Bridget Jones's Diary - I'm Every Woman Chakan (spelling?)
Sense and Sensibility - Marianne's theme (or whatever the musical piece is called where she's walking through the rain and gets sick)
Emma - Emma's Theme
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets - Something on that, I can't be arsed to get up and check it now.

13/11/10

Your Guess is as Good as Mine

1.Tea or Coffee? Neither

2.Summer or Winter? Summer totally!

3.Flight or Fancy? Ooo, tough...I'm going to say Fancy

4.Biscuits or cakes? Cakes, how is this even a question.

5.Mac or PC? PC for the win!

6.Grizzly Bear or Cuddly Bear?

Cuddly Bear, I don't want to die you see.

I'll work on getting the rest up later on...bed does indeed call me now.

Goodnight all!

11:00pm: Well, my NaNo buddies and I! Pats on the back for all of us.

OK, so I made the dinner tonight, a lamb roast, but I kind of failed at that, the carrots weren't big enough so they burned and I didn't cook enough potatoes and I forgot the pumpkin! So all in all a bit of a disaster there.

Anywho let's have some Memes here:

Monday Movie Meme

This week's movie topic is all about Documentaries You'd Like To See Made...

We are big fans of documentaries, probably because a talented filmmaker could turn virtually any topic into a movie that was interesting, entertaining and educational. They don't all succeed but the variety out there is amazing. Still, there are some ideas that we'd love to see a documentary about that we don't think have been done yet.

Hmm...I'm really not sure, honestly...maybe something about George III again, LOL. Or maybe something about Gymnastics, don't ask me why.

Right so apparently that's the only Meme we got.

I'll be off then although I'm damn annoyed about my chapped lips after yesterday...I've been using my chapstick but it doesn't seem to working too well. Sucks.

Anywho, goodnight all!

10:16pm: Well! It turns out my main RP partner has lost Net access! No wonder things have been so quiet. It's gonna be until the end of August until she's back on. This makes Captain John sad face :O( I suppose he can get up to lots more World Trip Shennigans, which will be fun.

I also had inspiration for a Flash fic! So here you go:

078. Where? )

In other news, woe on my diet this weekend! I've eaten a lot of chocolate and cheese, which really is a bad iead, What the Hell was I thinking. Although there doesn't seem to be fruit in this place.

Which has just reminded me...I think I left the fruit I bought in a plastic bag...shiiit.

Have to sort that out tomorrow, in the meantime though-

Memes! )

Well, work calls tomorrow, so I won't be able to watch all of the Tour De France, but Lance Armstrong won't be winning this year, but he's coming 3rd so go him! :OD

Gotta finish updating Captain John's LJ and then I shall be off to bed!

10:20pm: Hmm...I got home late tonight because the traffic was complete shit. I thought I'd never get back! O.o

But yes I did, played a bit of Sims 3, still can't get my guys to look right, but I built them a fine looking house right on the beach! Pretty!

Alas no RP action either! Bummer...ah well, not much I can do about that. As I said people on that side of the world should probably be sleeping, LOL!

In other news, my eating habits have gone down the toilet. For dinner tonight I about 6 Jatz, a carrot and a piece of bread! I was going to have rice, but I got caught up and it's way too late to eat now.

Booking Through Thursday

Fantasy and Sci-Fi

One of my favorite sci-fi authors (Sharon Lee) has declared June 23rd Fantasy and Science Fiction Writers Day.

As she puts it:

So! In my Official Capacity as a writer of science fiction and fantasy, I hereby proclaim June 23 Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Day! A day of celebration and wonder! A day for all of us readers of science fiction and fantasy to reach out and say thank you to our favorite writers. A day, perhaps, to blog about our favorite sf/f writers. A day to reflect upon how written science fiction and fantasy has changed your life.

So … what might you do on the 23rd to celebrate? Do you even read fantasy/sci-fi? Why? Why not?

Cool! I love Sci-Fi...I figure I'll do something Torchwood-like, write some more fanfic or something. Actually, that reminds me! Tomorrow evening at 8:30 ABC2 is going to start showing the first series! Yays! I'm going to watch because I've never seen it before and hey that's where it all begins.

That doesn't actually have anything to do with the question, LOL. Well I could start reading my favourite fantasy series by David and Leigh Eddings, that's always fun. I think I've got the first book around her somewhere...

Thursday Thunks

Kimber, the number 3000 and the color grape ape.

1. Are your ears dirty?

I don't think so, I cleaned them today.

2. Would you rather be stung by a scorpion or bit by a snake? (Don't say neither...no one wants to be in pain, that's the point. Pick one.)

Well depends on the snake really? I don't thing there's a deadly poisonous scorpio so I'd probably take that on. Ouch...

3. Do loud noises make you snappish? (i.e. A loud restaurant, screaming child next to you, booming stereo from a neighbor's house?)

Not snappish, but loud noises make me jump, even if I'm expecting them...what's with that.

4. PETA- thoughts on this org.?

They're a bit too gung-ho for me, apparently they like to show pictures of bloody animals to kids. Which is pretty damn gross.

5. Would you rather be the discoverer of the Loch Ness Monster or Bigfoot? (Imagination!)

Nessie! I love Nessie! I swear I saw the bubbles when I visited Loch Ness. :O)

6. When in a public toilet and it's not flushed: do you flush & use or move on to a clean one?

Move to a clean one...ewww...that's gross...unless there's no clean ones then I'll have to pick the one that's the least messy, or just give up on the endeavour all together.

7. Neighbors are having a noisy, party bonfire, what do you do?

Call the police! Because my next door neighbours are in apartment! So yikes! That'd be a Hell of a problem.

8. Do you play Monopoly? If so which version of the game?

Yes, but not very well...I played the chocolate version, Mum won that one though and got to eat the chocolate pieces, LOL!

9. Are you a remote hog?

Don't think so, not that it matters because I live alone.

10. Do you like the smell of paint?

Er no, that can kill you, you know.

11. My questions obviously suck this week. {I've had a bad week.}
So do you think Kimber should have...
~smoked pot before doing these questions?
~drank liquid courage?
~begged Berleen to do them (she's better at them anyhow)?
~just piss off! I could have done better!

Who's Kimber?!

Right, gotta get myself to bed, I think I've been a bit lax in getting enough sleep lately so yeah.
