10:51pm: Well, damn...I'm suffering from a facial breakout again, what's up with that? I've been using the anti-pimple cleansing stuff the beautician recommended and it seemed to be working.
And now it's just occurred to me, I don't think I've been washing my pillow enough...eww...awkward. I should look into that, and kick myself since I just did laundry a couple of days ago, I should have put my pillow case in then!
On the plus side, at least the spot that was right between my eyebrows has disappeared, that was in a really awkward spot, LOL.
What else do I have to report? Well today is Saturday, so church was on, of course as always I kind of miscalculated with time and even with the car - which Mum and Dad nicely lent me - it was a squeeze to get to the gym and then church, even though I only went on the bike and swam.
Also, is Tumblr loading really slow for anyone else? Or is it just my browser and the overabundance of tabs I've got open on it? Because I've got an excellent wi-fi signal here at the parental units so that shouldn't be causing me any problems.
And time is swiftly getting away from me, so I better do those Memes!
The (Other) Friday Five1. What was the last book that took your breath away? Mao's Last Dancer was a seriously amazing read! Some people have such amazing lives.
2. How many hours do you spend in a car during an average week? If you're talking strictly cars? Um, less than an hour. If we include all wheeled transport, probably more like two or three depending.
3. What is your favorite mind game to improve your memory? I've got this app on my phone called
Seven Words, I think it improves my memory, but I don't rightly know. Probably all counts right?
4. How often do you talk to friends on the phone? Not much at all, I'm terrible at keeping in touch by phone. I should do something about that...
5. If you could have minions (like the yellow guy in my icon), would you? Umm, nah, minions aren't really my bag.
Saturday 9:Little Red Corvette:(recommended by Smellyann)
No link this week. Prince apparently is very strict about copyright infringement.
1) The subject of this song is frankly sexual. Do you blush easily? So my friends say the one time they showed me some saucy material (why did they have saucy material? I don't know) But I'm not sure...
2) Prince is his real name (Prince Rogers, to be exact). Growing up, his relatives called him "Skipper." Do you have any nicknames within your family? Yes! Moose :OD And really his name's 'Prince' I thought he changed it to that before changing it to 'Symbol' then changing it back.
3) Prince says he's "obsessed" with Mozart and reads whatever he can find about the composer. What's the last book you read? Brace for Impact a collection of stories from 25 of the 155 survivors of the Hudson River Ditching. Good stuff.
4) Between Prince and The Beach Boys, the Corvette is a much sung-about car. Tell us about your vehicle. N/Am although I may have worn my parents down enough to get the green Citroen, if it's still there...Or rather we'll have a car-sharing agreement.
5) In the 1980s, when Prince was popular, MTV could turn a song into a hit. In 2014, how do you hear new music? To be honest, I generally don't, because I don't like the new stuff.
6) In 1982, when "Little Red Corvette" ruled the airwaves, Braniff Airways shocked the travel industry and threw passengers into chaos by declaring bankruptcy. When did you last fly? Did your trip go smoothly? Not since coming back from Bali and it was a smooth flight in terms of no turbulence, but my friend and I were seated separately from my mother and her friend because the plane was full. Also, our seats sucked right in front of the bathroom with no room to recline and the people in front of us put their seatbacks right in our faces. The food was good, though...
7) 1982 is also the year Disney opened Epcot. Have you ever been to a Disney park? I've been to both Disneyland
and Eurodisneyland with my family during our 1993 world trip. As this was before I turned into a wuss about roller coasters and stuff do it was good times all around.
8) 1982 is the year Cheers premiered. The sitcom was set in a bar where "everybody knows your name." Tell us about your favorite local bar or restaurant. N/A, but that's a great show!
9) The 1980s were considered a highpoint in professional tennis, with Jimmy Connors and John McEnroe dominating the sport. Do you play tennis? Ha ha funny you should mention them because I'm reading John McEnroe's autiobiography...Anyway I have played tennis and even had lessons for a while, but damn me I sucked at it.
Righto, that's the memes that are up right now, so I'll wrap it up here.
Tomorrow I'm going to the gym and then meeting my parents and grandparents for lunch at the War Vetrans' club - I'm driving my parent's BMW, so wish me luck with that!
For now, goodnight!
