12:41pm: Personally, I feel it's looking alright, but I 100% know that when (if?) Mum and her friend come by I'm busted!

But am I gonna get up off my couch and get frantic? Nah.

Instead I'm gonna post this blast from the past OMG-the-website-is-still-alive quiz that I found during my re-read of various friends' old journal entries.

LJ Friends Meme by coolerq

• You must tell 43 people about this game.
George is the one that you love.
Albert is one you like but can't work out.
• You care most about Michael.
Zepur is the one who knows you very well.
Ben is your lucky star.
Closing Time is the song that matches with George.
Forever Young is the song for Albert.
Summer Sunshine is the song that tells you most about YOUR mind.
• and Running Up That Hill is the song telling you how you feel about life

LOL, I swear I remember doing this before, but I can't seem to find it on my entries from around the same time as my friend posted theirs. I'll keep an eye out and link if I manage to find it in my trips down memory lane.

In other news, I'm judging myself because I'm totally procrastinating on writing...bah! I have all the intentions in the world of writing these little drabbles - I even have a table of prompts for them and then when push comes to shove I let time get away from me. It's not like I'm doing anything productive like going to gym or seeing friends or *ahem* cleaning my apartment, I mean that would at least be acceptable, for a while it's been me fiddling around with Hill Valley in Create a World, which is marginally creative, but the last few days, I got no excuse.

Humbug! You know what's annoying me? I feel like I'm wasting time, but then I don't really know what I want to do with the time I've got. Except I do...I want to write and play Sims 3. I guess a part of me doesn't think that's proper state of affairs or something? Or maybe I'm just low-key worried that Mum's gonna come by without sending a message of warning and I'm gonna be super embarrassed when her friend sees the place. Can't say I wasn't warned though.

On the plus side at least I felt marginally socialable last night watching the figure skating and commenting with fellow fans on the forum. Ah fun.

Right, I better stop procrastinating and do more cleaning!

Wish me luck!

11:25pm: Nah, not really, which is a shame...not that I haven't been enjoying myself, although I'm slacking on the fan fic, maybe I really do need to extra the digit as my mother would say and go somewhere else and actually sit at a table or something to work on it!

What else to report? Well, I've decided to use my acne cream on my face again since the pimples have returned. My only concern is I might end up bleaching my bed sheets or PJs, I probably should have put it on a bit earlier...although I haven't been able to find much info online about that.

Moving along, there was more ice skating to watch yesterday as the Junior Grand Prix event in Brisbane wrapped up. I missed like half of the ladies event which was a bummer, but I did at least get to see one of the Aussie girls. Yay! None of the Aussies finished very high, but hey it's the first event so there's nowhere to go but up. Also there was no pairs event in this one (which is weird, but OK) so our World Champions didn't compete. Fingers crossed when they do show up they'll go great!

Although watching the skating meant I didn't go skating, although I didn't really plan on it because I still have a cough from the cold so one shouldn't overdo these things, except that does mean I still haven't got my beanie from my friend! Ah well, next Saturday.

I also spent last night at the parentals because there was a fun-run this morning and Dad and I thought parking might be difficult in Dee Why for church, although as it happened there was hardly any traffic and plenty of parking. LOL. I guess that's how it goes.

Right, I better get going, it's almost 15 minutes 'til midnight and I've got work tomorrow morning and then volunteering! I be a busy Moose indeed!

Goodnight all!

10:45pm: That country has been having an awful time lately...I'm sure we've all heard the latest and on Bastille Day of all days. It's just cruel and rather scary...where are these fucked up individuals coming from?

Well, we kind of know that...at the same time, it's important - I think - to remember that most...possibly all?...of them have been long-term residents of the country they've attacked. :O( So, I hope no-one uses this as an excuse to blame refugees.

In less depressing news, I'm not sure I've looked this up before, but if I did I forgot about it...basically I was wondering what the deal is with house numbers in the USA. Like they're so HUGE, here in Australia it goes by street ie house 1 on said street has the number 1 on it, house 1 on the other side of said street has the number 2 on it and so on and so forth.

So whenever I've heard US addresses I've always wondered how bloody long a street over there has to be that there's a number 1001 or higher on it!

Finally, I decided to ask Google about this and I finally found the answer! Houses in the US are numbered entirely differently, like houses that are 10 miles from the centre of town get the number 1000 on them, even if the street they're on only has like twenty houses on it.

As an Aussie I find this thoroughly confusing...because in some cases the house numbers will jump from like 1010 to 2000 when there's a cross street or something. WTF? Weird.

And I'm sure you were all very interested to hear about that. :OP

Of course, it has reminded me that no writing has happened yet...I've been pondered getting out a notebook or something and actually writing by hand because for some strange reason I feel like that would make it easier for me. Problem is, I don't have any lined notebooks with me, obviously I could buy one but I've got like a million in the old Box Thing back at Newtown so it seems like a waste, but I'm not going to Newtown any time soon so...

Actually that reminds me, that things are continuing with the apartment purchasing possibility...and I need to fill out this financial form thing though, I meant to do it this evening, but I got distracted doing my laundry - my last laundry and rent paying at my current Granny Flat, sniff!

Also, I haven't done any memes this week, but now it's too late, but I'll be catching up at some point.

For now though, goodnight all! And keep France in your thoughts.

11:05pm: I opened this tab like an hour and a half ago and I'm only just now starting to type in it. Pft, fail.

Anyway, I'm sorry to say my mental state is still kinda...off...I'm starting to wonder if not having a proper breakfast before taking my anti-depressant is behind it. I mean obviously I have to take it every day, but I do recall reading about the importance of taking it after eating. But maybe I need a bit more than a mandarin and a couple of spoons of yogurt.

Anyway, I felt upset this morning and like I've been saying since Wednesday I can't put a finger on why. I feel that something's missing, but what? I did IM [personal profile] crossover_chick and talk for a bit (thanks, Vic) which made me think maybe it's writing. Like I signed up to Camp NaNo this month with the intention of getting back in the game only to find...I don't know what to write? Like...I've got no inspiration! At all?! I usually make up little stories in my head all the time, even if I never write any of it down and they seem to have gone AWOL too. It's disturbing.

Although having written that out I can see why something seems to be missing...because it is! My creative mojo! Where did it go? Why did it go? And why have I only just noticed this turn of events? Because thinking about it, I'm sure the little narrator in my head has been quiet for a while now. But I just noticed it this Wednesday? Why then? I've been quite happy these past few months - the odd panic attack excepted - scratches head.

The only thing I can think of is that I've been slacking off on my reading since been told about needing to move from the Granny Flat - and even though that's all cleared up now - I haven't got back into it and now my brain is all quiet, with more time to think about bad stuff.

The book I'm currently halfway through is about Roger Federer and one fan's journey watching him play and whatnot. Which perhaps is a bit of a bad choice because sadly even switching channels last night and going to bed didn't work. The Fed-Ex fought back valiantly only to go down in five sets to Freddo. Sigh.

I do have a number of other books to read though so I could look at those! I really should get with the program.

I might also be a bit distressed because last weekend when I went to my grandparents' place I discovered I hadn't put the top on my wart removal stuff properly and some of it leaked on my purple shirt - the one I sewed by hand - and left a stain, which hasn't come off despite washing! Damn, what if it won't come out? I worked so hard on that shirt...

Shakes head.

Anyway, I turned the heater off in preparation for going to bed and now it's getting chilly in here so I'm gonna wrap this up now. Besides I skipped my Russian last night and I really ought to do it now.

Goodnight all!

I'd definitely give anxiety the big 'fuck off', I hate it! It's the bane of my existence! What has anxiety, really bad anxiety ever done for anyone? Nothin'.

Anyway! Today was Earth Hour Day! I went with Mum across to the park to see the city, it was awfully misty out...but good times. I wonder why they can't keep the lights off in the buildings all the time. I can understand the warning light on top to warn airplanes, but the entire building lit up? Weird, I tell you!

I think I've spending too much time on my laptop because my eyeballs were having a spaz today, so annoying.

Righto then, let's have the Memes:

Saturday 9

:You're My Best Friend:

1. Outside of your romantic life, do you currently have a best friend?

I have best frineds, but no romantic life, but I don't care! Friends rock!

2. Regarding your future, what is the best thing you could hope for?

A freaking job! I didn't get the Manly Libary job :O(

3. Have you ever helped out a friend with basic needs, like rent or food? If yes. what did you do?

Nope, but I've let them use my washing machine, LOL.

4. If they re-instituted the draft (for both genders and your were of age) would you go, or would find some way out of it?

Fuck that, I'm not mad! I'd go to jail before I'd go to war.

5. Tell us one thing you wish you hadn't let yourself do.

Get fired...that was a big mess.

6. Tell us about the last time you bragged.

I don't know...been a while, it would seem.

7. What area are you wisest in?

LOL, if I can figure that out, I may have better job prospects.

8. Tell us about something that happened that at the time made you "full of yourself".

I got nothin'.

9. Has there ever been a time that you wanted to try something in the bedroom, but were afraid to ask?

N/A. I wanted to paint my bedroom green though and my parents said 'no'...or my mother rather. :O(

The Saturday Six

1. Have you ever belonged to a Christmas Club savings account? If so, did you actually use that check for Christmas shopping?

Er no, I'm not even entirely sure what that is.

2. For a few years in a row, you receive a nice tax refund: do you make an adjustment with your payroll deduction so they’ll take less, or do you leave it that way so that you can continue to receive the big check every spring?

Yeah, it sounds like a good way to save actually!

3. How likely are you to put such a check towards paying off bills rather than spending it on something for yourself?

Depends if I need to pay them or not. I'd probably do half and half.

4. Roughly what percentage of the time do you make at least double the minimum payment due to a credit card company?

Don't have a credit card.

5. Take the quiz: What’s Your Money Personality?

Your Money Personality is Healthy

You have a good relationship with money.

You don't spend wildly, but you're not opposed to treating yourself on occasion.

In general, you save some of what you earn.

You know the importance of a nest egg.

You aren't afraid of being financially literate - you embrace learning more about finances.

From a retirement plan to having an emergency fund, you know what you need to have to be safe.

Hah, that's a pretty good result for someone who's unemployed...

6. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the most stressful, how much stress are your finances causing you right now?

5 because of the lack of job.

Righto then nothing else to report, so I'll be off!

Goodnight all!

10:26pm: I was of course supposed to come over here tomorrow on the 9:13pm bus, but there was some unpleasantness yesterday and I was feeling most distressed over it, so I came on over today instead.

Alas, M beat me soundly at Canasta, even though I managed to go out before her twice! Most unfortunate! But maybe we'll have a chance at another game tomorrow, or we could play Chinese Checkers.

I've kind of left my RP characters hanging because I can't get on the net here through my laptop so I have to use Grandpa's computer instead and he's only just finished with it. I suppose everyone goes on a break at some time or another.

In another news, I'm still considering my options after last night's unpleasantness, I haven't heard back from either of my interviews yet and I've got a bad feeling I'm still going to be jobless, which is such bullshit. I totally can't move out if I don't have a job, so this is most lame. :O( My grandparents recommend I be nice to my parents and do everything they say, but seriously I can't be the only person who finds that next to impossible when they're being jerkasses can I? Most annoying.

Anyway, the memes:

Thursday Thunks

This week we will answer some crazy questions brought to you by Kimber, the color of doom, and the number 999.

1. You walk into a room, someone turns and looks at you and laughs. What do you do?

Probably get really uncomfortable and leave, because I'm paranoid like that.

2. You find an egg, take it home and keep it warm. It hatches. What type of dinosaur is it? Do you keep it and name?

Wow cool! I'd say a triceratops, because they're herbivores and cool looking. I'd probably take it to the zoo though, because it'll grow way too big for me to keep. I'd name it Spikey though, LOL!

3. Which superhero would you want to be related to and why?

Tough one...I'd kind of like to be related to Spider-Man because he's my favourite...but Mr. Incredible sounds like a good option to.

4. A drunken sailor comes up to you on the pier...he begins harassing you in a most repulsive way....what'll be your defense?

Push the bastard of it and I'll make sure to throw a life ring in after him, so don't worry.

5. Entering a CLASS A piano bar, you're encouraged to sing atop the grand instrument...you grab the microphone and sing.....

Nothing because my singing voice is hideous and it'd be unfair to inflict it upon the people, especially in such a classy joint.

6. If you were a character in a Dr. Seuss book/movie, who would you be and why?

The Moose with Mousse, because it's delicious!

7. If you have just been called to be a substitute in the Winter Olympics for your country (apparently everyone else was busy), what sport(s) will you compete in?

Oh man...well I might be able to manage curling...but everything else? No way...

8. Did the audience from the piano bar in question #5 applaud when you were done with your song?

If I dared to sing one? Hell no!

Winter Reading

The northern hemisphere, at least, is socked in by winter right now… So, on a cold, wintry day, when you want nothing more than to curl up with a good book on the couch … what kind of reading do you want to do?

Thank you for acknowledging that, and so I'll answer! At the moment I think it'd be an Agatha Christie book, because they're fun to read, particularly curled up on the couch or bed.

Anywho, I best be off, M and I are going swimming tomorrow morning and she'll be getting me up around 9am, so I best get my zzzs.

Goodnight to you all!

There once was a Time Agent Named Hart
Who made strutting out of Rifts an art,
An ex-partner he did find,
Snogging and fighting like old times.
But trusting him wouldn't be smart.

LOL! Shakespeare, I ain't.

My nose is sore, which totally sucks... :O( I keep loosing my ointment, this is my own fault I suppose, but still damn annoying.

Moving on! It's late so I better Meme and run!

Manic Monday

How old were you when you learned to tie your shoes?

Dunno probably around 5 or 6.

Have you ever snooped in somebody else's medicine cabinet?

Nah. Although I've thought about it, LOL!

Who do you think you are?

I'm me, bitch!

TMI Tuesday

1. Which traits from your parents do you see in yourself?

Um...I've got my Dad's cautiousness and enthusiasm for weird stuff and my mother's lack of time keeping and interest in cleaning!

2. Which traits from you/your partner do you see in your children (if you don't have kids, which would you like to see)?

Wow...I dunno...I guess my enthusiasm, the rest of it could be a bit of problem!

3. How did you get the birds-and-bees talk?

Some boys in Year 3 made some stupid comments so the teacher brought out the education pop up book.

4. What was your favorite childhood book?

The Adrian Mole Diaries
!

5. What is your favorite piece of erotic literature?

Never really thought about it...got some good stuff on internet fanfic sites, LOL.

Bonus: What is the one thing you wish you could go back and tell yourself as a child?

"Don't sweat the small stuff, damnit! Moving to Sydney will turn out well, don't get the anxiety, it's not worth it!" Whether child-me would listen though is a question for all us.

Double Bonus: If your life were a book or movie, what would the title be?

The Moose is Loose!
