10:32pm: So today was my first Kidbow Adbow class at the archery range! Unfortunately, yesterday there was a hazard reduction burn that got out of control and as a result there's smoke around and having spent two hours outside my eyeballs are now dry and rather sore. I ended up with a headache and as often occurs with me I kinda forgot to take anything for it for like two hours. But I finally got around with it and I'm good now.

Anyway, the archery went well...until the end where we had a game which was quite fun except that when my team ended up on the 25m target and even though we were closer to it than that, I missed the target soooo many times (although I've since realised it was probably because I didn't adjust the sight on the bow to compensate for the change in length from the target.

However! I did succeed in qualifying on the 15m target, which means next week I can go to do the 20 metre one, hooray!

That reminds me, I've totally forgotten to update Facebook on my progress, whoops...I think I mentioned that an old school friend of mine said they could see if their father (who was an Olympic archer) had any old equipment I could use. Which would be quite a saving, although I did find out last week that I need a rather short riser (that's the part of the bow you hold and place the arrow on) because I'm a shortie, so unless her father is also quite short, I'm not sure his equipment would work for me. Also how would I get it?

Right, it's 11pm now so I better haul butt and get a decent amount of sleep, which also might be why my eyes are dry.

Goodnight!

10:17pm: For archery tomorrow. I wasn't going to, because the internet seemed to be of the opinion that top archers don't shut one eye when shooting, but firstly I ain't a top archer and secondly, the para-archers who are currently competing close one eye though. Not sure how to account for the difference... they are using compound bows so I guess that might make a difference, but whatever. I did have a bit of scare when I could locate said eyepatch after trying it out, turns out it had fallen into my shopping bag. I really do need to clean up my house, especially since Mum, Dad and (possibly) the little bro are coming over on Thursday to celebrate Mum's birthday. It's actually the day before, but she's already got plans. So yeah, gotta fix that.

I also have to make a card for Dad for Father's Day, which means I gotta wrap this entry up quickly because I won't have time to make it tomorrow and it's not like I can stay up until stupid o'clock, archery starts at 9am tomorrow.

Also my digestive system has been somewhat annoyed today, I've taken some Buscopan for it, but I'm thinking a good night's sleep will be helpful for it.

Also I think I may have sat down too much today catching up on figure skating because my knee is deciding to be a butt again. Very rude.

Before I head off though...

Friday Five

9/11/23

1. What is on your bucket list that you want to do in the next ten years? Visit my big bro and his family in Japan, although that's locked in for next year, I've already paid a deposit and stuff for a tour my mother and I will be doing over there. So I should probably have another bucket list item...um...visit the US and the BTTF filming sites.

2. What bucket list items have you completed and enjoyed? I haven't really thought about a bucket list prior to that first question there, so I'm not really sure, LOL. Maybe get decent at archery?

3. What bucket list items did you accomplish but they weren't as great as you hoped or expected? See above. I'm trying to think of something now, LOL... Ummm... I got nothing.

4. What short term goal(s) are you currently working on? Cleaning up my apartment and keeping it tidy.

5. What middle term goal(s) do you have, and are you working on them? Get better at archery - I'm currently doing Beginner Classes which I have three more to do. Not sure what'll happen after that, I might have to redo the course depending on how I go.

Right, it's getting towards 11pm, and like I said I've got to do that card, wish me luck!

10:20pm: Well, the Juniors are at least, I didn't realise until I went onto YouTube today and it was on my "For You" watch list. I'd totally forgotten about it! Always a fun watch, although I was hoping to find the para-archery, but I guess they don't show the seeding rounds? Because those are on today, but they weren't streaming, boo-urns.

Anywho, I'm not sure if I should stay up for the last group of ladies because I'm pretty sure I haven't been getting enough sleep this week, which probably explains my sore eyeballs since it wasn't windy today.

As for work, lots of Inter Library Loans were sent out today since the courier drops them off quite late on Wednesdays now. But yeah, I got them all out except for one, sometimes when I put the reserve on, it comes out with a different branch than the one on the actual request, which is weird and rather annoying. I have to ring that patron and ask them which branch they actually want to pick the book up from, but sometimes they don't answer their phone or call me back.Ah well, tomorrow is another day.

Going off the topic, my water sort game I play on my mobile phone has changed and now it sucks, I have no idea why they did that, I might have to uninstall it it's that bad. Bah, if it ain't broke don't fix it. Also there's so many ads on it now with that damn pain in the ass AI voice. Throws up hands.

On that note, I'm gonna head off, because the past few days I've been saying I'll go to bed once I wrap up my journal entry and then neglect to do it! Not this time though.

So goodnight!

10:05pm: I'm not sure what's going on, but they're really rather sore...it was windy this afternoon so perhaps some dust or something got kicked up...

Speaking of the weather, it was 27 degrees today, like WTF? It's not even Spring yet, this doesn't bode well for Summer let me tell you!

In other news, I remembered something exciting from Trivia last night, one of the bonus round involved an anagram round, the clue was a "movie", for some reason just looking at it I was like "LOL, imagine if it was Back to the Future" and it totally was!! What are the chances?!

Not much else to report, although today Mum and Dad's car - which had to go to the smash repairers to be fixed - was ready to be picked up and because of where the smash repair place Mum decided it would be best to drive over to the Mall in my car, have me drive her to said smash repair place and drop her off and then drive my car back to the Mall. Which we did!

I did plan to park in the staff parking lot, however since I haven't used my staff pass in ages, it had been blocked. I'm pretty sure I'd have to go all the way to the car park office to get it unblocked, and that's all the way across the Mall, so nuts to that. Instead I parked in the public area, where in order to avoid having to pay you need to leave the parking lot and come back in before three hours is up. This is actually somewhat annoying when other colleagues do it through it the day (it costs $6 a day to park in the staff lot, which seems rather reasonable), but yeah.

Anyway, it's possible my eyeballs are sore because of a lack of sleep, so I'm gonna turn in now.

Goodnight!

10:07pm: Yep, my eyelids are feeling most heavy right now, and I want to be refreshed for work tomorrow!

Since I worked on Saturday, I had a half day today, which was good because it gave me time to get my eyebrows and legs waxed at a nice place in the Mall, then I headed home and went to the gym where I do my weights and worked out - although I skipped my core exercises, tsks at self. On the way home I went to the pharmacy to get my eyepatch, I was going to buy one of those hard ones, but I thought that might be a bit over the top so I got a soft one instead.

I tried it out when I got home and realised a further issue...my vision out of one eye is not very good even with my glasses on, I have no idea if this is common for people or if it's my astigmatism or something. Either way, it rather sucks. Although...I notice I don't seem to have this problem if I hold my left eye closed with my finger. Which is interesting, but decidedly unhelpful, since you need two hands to fire a bow after all. I mean I suppose I could tape it down? But I'd prefer not to have to keep my eye closed for like two and a half hours while I'm in the class. That would suck. So yeah...might need to work on that.

Not much else to report besides that, I feel like I had a busy day, but I guess it's not very exciting to write about, LOL.

I want to do a Friday Five, although this one is Halloween related, so it might be a lot N/A...

Friday Five

20/10/23

1. Will you buy a pumpkin to carve or just leave it uncarved for decoration? We don't really do the pumpkin thing here in Australia. I assume that you use the innards, otherwise what a waste of delicious pumpkin! :OP

2. When was the last time, if ever, you went trick or treating? I've never been tricking or treating, because it wasn't the done thing when I was a kid.

3. Did you or your folks ever buy into that urban legend about razor blades in candy and screen it before you were allowed to eat anything? Nope, although a seriously fucked up individual did poison a bunch of candy as part of a plot to murder his son for life insurance. The son died :O( although no other kids were harmed and the guy was caught. But what a shit, they caught him obviously.

4. What was the ultimate ‘treat’ to get that night? If I did trick or treat well any chocolate bars would be most appreciated!

5. Be honest, did you ever trick anyone because they didn’t come across? Across what? The street? Or to the door or whatever? No, I haven't. Unrelated to Halloween my car got egged once and it was a giant pain in the ass to get said egg off. So yeah, don't throw eggs, it's annoying and shitty and apparently if you don't wipe them off quickly enough it can ruin the paint!

Right OK, it's coming up to a quarter to eleven, which is when I should be asleep, so I'm off! Goodnight!

PS. I'm getting used to the ABC Australian News going back to their old music, but I remain resistant to the new graphics.

11:00pm: Eek, I'm gonna have to make this quick, but today was the first lesson of the four week Beginner's Archery Course. Our coach was a nice older chap this time around and we were on the opposite side of the field and the three targets seemed very close to each other, long story short though, without been able to close my non-dominant eye, aiming is quite the crapshoot. I managed to get two out of three arrows in the target, but one would always miss! I tried to squint my left eye, but it was rather difficult and judging by how wide some of the arrows went I obviously focused with the wrong eye. The coach mentioned that he actually used an eyepatch himself, so I guess that's what I need to do. I was planning to go buy one this afternoon, but I left my run to the shops a bit late and the pharmacy was closed when I got there. Ah well, there's always tomorrow. I'm hoping that this will help out because when I DID manage to aim with the right eye as I said I hit the target, I even got one in the yellow zone! :OD

I did take photos of my arrows - including one where the coach moved my arrows into the bullseye XD if only! But yeah there's three more lessons to go, so I'm hopeful! We also got a little guide to archery thing, so yay! I wonder if I should take my old schoolmate's offer of getting me some of her father's equipment. It would sure save me money, although with my supershort arms the arrows will probably be way too long LOL, and the bow would be too big probably (unless the father is rather short). But it never hurts to ask I guess. I'll look into that.

Now, I better be off, because my eyes have been a bit weird since the middle of the day, really tired, I even took a nap in the afternoon although it didn't really work. So yeah, gotta get those zzzs.

I got a McFly July prompt done though, so overall a successful day!

8:42pm: Well, I didn't get as much sleep as I hoped to last night, somehow time got away from me and it was 12:45am before I turned in, then some asshat rang my apartment buzzer at like...8am or something? I didn't answer it, obviously, but it woke me up. Grumble. This is hopefully why my left eyelid feels like it's twitching, I wouldn't want it to be something serious :Oo

Anyway, I thought I had more to say with this entry, but my mind is kinda blanking...I went out this morning with the aim of finding a darning mushroom (I'd never heard of one, but it's what you need to darn stuff, like the jumper I'm hoping to fix), there's this sewing shop a few blocks down. Alas, they didn't have one, although admittedly I didn't ask the shopkeeper. I'm terrible at not doing that, LOL.

Looking at my jumper though I fear I won't be able to fix it, it's not just a hole in it, the material itself seems to be thinning out :O( So I wondered about maybe tracking down a plain grey jumper and stitching little coloured squares on it like the current jumper, but no luck there either. I even briefly considered learning to knit so I could make a jumper myself, but that sounds a little overzealous LOL. It is a bummer though, because I did actually find a jumper like it on eBay, except it was a size medium, which won't fit me. Hope whoever did buy it will enjoy it, it's a cute jumper!

Anywho, I should wrap this up, tomorrow I'm heading down to Wollongong with my parents, we're meeting with some relatives along the way and then Monday morning I catch the train back, so I should make sure I've got everything packed and ready to go.

Before I go though...

The Friday Five

17/5/24

These questions were written by Dreamwidth user Spacefem.

1) Is summer a break for you, or is it busier? Well, it's not summer here in Australia, but yeah it is a bit, since it's Christmas time and my birthday, my big bro and his family usually come for a visit too so I take like two weeks off work. Good times.

2) What's next for your travel plans? Well, excepting tomorrow, in a few weeks I'm going to Fiji with my mother and her friend. Only for five days, very exciting!

3) What have you spontaneously done lately? I'm a pretty boring soul, so nothing really comes to mind right now. Hmmm, well I did spontaneously buy Cities Skylines last month, which proved to be a good idea.

4) What's your favorite way to unwind after a long day? Sit on my butt on my ouch and watch TV and/or YouTube.

5) What's in your pockets? I'm in my PJs so no pockets.

3:48pm: Indeed it is, I was planning to post this at 10:04pm California time, but then I remembered...I'll be at church.

Ah well, them's the brakes.

Moving along, I continue to read the old Journal entries and due to a lack of anything else to do I've decided to try the Anagrams from this post: https://anonymoose-au.livejournal.com/173058.html I was sick that day or something so I didn't get many at all.

More Anagrams, wheee!

Please list at least one anagram for the following words...

1. rentals: ? slanter

2. wreathe: ? weather

3. untidy: ? Me! Er that is - I'm not sure I have something for this one...

4. ruling: ? Luring

5. peaks: Speak

6. imprints:? - Ditto, does this one even have an anagram?

7. meals: Selma

8. reserve: Reverse

9. cosmic: Comics

10. heirs: Shire

Also I was amused by the quiz I did in this entry: https://anonymoose-au.livejournal.com/177910.html

Apparently the day I go to Hell will be October 7, 2041. I wonder if I should put a reminder in my phone XD Not sure if Google Calendar will still be a thing then... Although I'm not sure if I mentioned this, but I once sent an email to my future self through a website and would you believe it, it actually came! I can't remember where I put it I should try digging it up again.

In other news the Senior Figure Skating Season has begun! I'm rather annoyed at myself because the first event is Skate America and the time difference meant I could actually watch the events, but I totally missed the pairs. Ah well, at least I saw the men. I just caught up on the pairs now, in fact, except maybe I should have gone for a walk instead, my eyeballs kind of hurt now.

I will be heading off to church soon though, so with any luck that will save my sore eyes because I'm hoping to do some fanfic and Sims playing today.

Anywho, Happy Back to the Future Day! We may not having flying cars, self-adjusting jackets or lithium mode, but we do have the internet LOL.

11:15pm: Not much to report, although, I did finally get to the alterations place to get my pants taken in...all up this is going to cost like $60, which you know is like 10% of that one pair of pinstriped pants I saw on the net, LOL. (Seriously, they were Chanel and the only pants that came up on the Google search...I always though pinstripes were timeless!)

I also did my extra volunteering at Dee Why Library since I missed out on doing so last week, which is why I was in Dee Why to drop of my pants in the first place. There seems to be a lack of people working at the Home Library Service right now, so there was a heap of selections to do. Unfortunately, I got caught up with one particular client so I only did about three, boo.

Anyway, I also had success with getting a proper USB plug for my tablet at Officeworks, did I mention that I've been having trouble with that? I can't remember LOL, but I was and now I've got one with enough amps.

The tablet is going well since I installed Windows 10 on it, except the display is so small...I tried making it bigger, but then it get blurry...I guess that's just how it goes. Although it does make me wonder if I can actually change between my regular laptop and it without killing my eyeballs.

This is a very uninteresting entry, although I do have one piece of news, my co-worker has asked me over for dinner tomorrow night, it's going to be a Peruvian dish and I'm very intrigued. I hope it won't be too spicy though!

So, I gotta wrap this up because sleep is needed.

10:01pm: Yes! Exciting news! I saw my parents in church tonight (I thought they went in the morning) and was able to tell Mum it hadn't come through and she's sent it over, so now for your interest here it be! You can see how it's 'L-shaped' thus making the bed area separate from the living area. Of course, there's no natural light in the bedroom area which is a bit of a drawback, but hey you don't have to walk through my bedroom so that'll be awesome.

In other news, today has been a bit annoying because I think I must have woken up in the middle of a deep sleep block because I've had tired eyes all day along with general sleepyness. What can you do? Apparently there's supposed to be an app that will set your alarm so that it won't wake you up at a bad time, but I'm not sure it would actually work without like a watch or something that actually detects if you're asleep because sometimes I fall asleep quickly and sometimes I don't.

Anyway, moving on let's try and catch up on some more Memes...finally! )

9:43pm: It's really annoying, especially since I feel like washing them in hot water would fix it, but the optometrist told me that would be a bad idea. And thinking on it he's probably right and that probably explains why the polarising coating on my glasses is sometimes a bit messed up. Sometimes they don't go dark in bright light in a uniform manner.

Maybe I'll have to buy those special glasses cleaning things, although I feel like they're not very environmentally friendly.

Moving on, not much to report, although the rain has set in and is expected to last all the way to Monday - bugger. Especially since it's sheet washing this week and that's huge pain in the ass when it's raining, I don't have anywhere to hang the sheets properly inside my Granny Flat. Maybe I should look into buying a larger drying rack.

Ow, my eyeballs hurt, not sure if that's got to do with my glasses or my lack of zzzzs, I still keep getting only 7.5 hours a night, get with the program me!

I keep getting distracted by this DVD I'm watching so almost an hour has past and this entry is depressingly short. Evidentally I don't have any deep and meaningful things to say. :OP

Oh! Very good news, the Fed-Ex did it! He managed to turn the game around from 2 sets down so now he's going into the semi-finals, whoo! Although, he's up against The Sleeve or rather Raonic or perhaps I should go with a friend of mine's nickname for him "Freddo" because he bares a striking resemblance to the Freddo Frog. Go Fed-Ex! :OD

11:17pm: Which sound bizarre, but it's true! On the one hand I want to know what's going to happen next, but on the other the author is taking so bloody long to have anything actually occur that's it's getting quite tedious. Grumble, grumble.

Moving onto the Purple Shirt Project, well it turned out only one button was crooked, so I only needed to fix that one, yay! However, I still haven't done the button holes, there's a way to do it by hand of course, but I'm still not sure if that's a good idea. I also had to redo the hem, so it's no longer rolled, because otherwise the dang thing is just too short, as I discovered when I put it on and lifted my arms. Hopefully it'll be OK now...although I'm worried the fabric might fray and unravel. Fingers crossed. I also need to finish with the sleeves, I'm still hoping to be able to wear it on Saturday.

In other news, it was Library Volunteer Day today and while I was there the Home Library Service Co-ordinator came over to tell me that the home library patrons have been very positive about the book choices over the past few weeks. Whoo! This is very good news, obviously I didn't choose them all, but I would have done some and since I sometimes wonder if I'm any good at picking out good items this puts my mind at ease. I didn't get a chance to ask about the Librarian job, mostly because the person who looks after the staff doesn't seem to be there when I am. Maybe she's at one of the other libraries, or has a day off, or perhaps I just didn't notice her. :OP

And now, I'm gonna wrap this up, despite the shortness of the entry because I'm super sleepy, I think I got some dust in my face at Mrs S's, because my eyeballs are feeling seriously heavy and dry. Or maybe I'm just sleepy and it is pass my bed time after all!

11:17pm: Not sure where that little song comes from, but it's what my mother used to always say when we got home from holidays.

And so here I am back in my humble abode, alas still with the loan car from the smash repairers, I've got a terrible feeling they haven't made a start on my car yet, it's still not ready. Then again...the insurance guy did say it'd take 10 business day to fix, so perhaps he wasn't wrong. I saw ol' George parked on the side of the road today as I did a few days ago. I didn't get a chance to check him out closely, to see if the new door was on, but I guess it isn't. Oh well, I guess I'll get him back when I get him back.

Moving on, I'm sorry to report I didn't end up going ice skating after all that, because my abdominal area was still being an ass. I slept pretty well at my friend's place, despite being on the couch. Good call bringing my own pillow! On the upside, I did get to Lincraft where I bought fabric for my Pusheen plushy. However, I didn't notice the fabric was folded when I asked for it to be cut so I have soooo much of it. Perhaps I can make multiple Pusheens...

I also went to the pool, but sadly...no activity tracker, I'm pretty sure it's gone...so it's a good thing that the Dee Why Aldi had one left! Which I bought, and found to my relief that despite the price tag saying $70 it actually scanned at $50 phew! Better keep a close eye on this one though.

Speaking of the pool...it turns out that my gym membership hasn't actually ended...the last payment was just taken out today and I'm pretty sure that was in advance. I best check on that before applying to join the gym around the corner.

After that I popped by Mum and Dad's to return the TV box (I managed to return the antenna to the Warringah Mall Aldi, even though I didn't have the receipt) and had lunch with Dad. :O) Although he reminded me that's he's supposed to be looking at my place not the otherway around! ;O)

After that I popped home and then headed off to the library for my performance review, which went very well, with any luck I'll be getting a raise in a few months, yay!

And finally the optometrist appointment! I was somewhat surprised to hear that my prescription hasn't changed much, I hope I didn't make a mistake when he was checking my eyes with the machine - you know the "Is this clearer? Number 1? Or Number 2?"

The point is when he put the new script on those temporary glasses and put it on there really wasn't much of a difference...in that case I can't really splash out on new glasses. Plus they didn't have any green ones there. :O( They did say they could get other frames in, but apparently only from other OPSMs in the city. I wonder if they could get in the same brand of glasses I all ready have, I was looking on their website and they've got some good ones. Only problem...I bet they're super expensive!

Oh well, I guess I'll wait until my Medibank Private card arrives before I make any decisions.

And I was going to do some Memes, but it's quite late now and also the eyedrops the optometrist used to measure my eye pressure have left them all dry and shit, so I shall wrap this up here.

11:00pm: I may be exaggerating slightly, but it's suddenly got to 11pm and I haven't updated my DW or done my Russian! And considering I've been free all day this is quite shameful of me. :OP Actually, I did go out thinking I'd be able to get my eyes checked, but apparently once again, it seems you need to make an appointment in advance these days. Or maybe, I'm just misremembering since I haven't being in quite a while. Anyway, I finally got around to making an appointment, I originally considered going on Sunday, but then I decided to go with Friday.

This means that the next three days are going to be rather busy! Tomorrow I'm going to M and Grandpa's were I'll stay the night, then there's the library and ice skating show and staying at my friend's house on Thursday and on Friday there's the library, optometrist and picking up my car (hopefully).

Actually, I'm sure I saw my car today as I was driving to the shopping centre, I was rather surprised, because to fix it they need to take the side of it off, and the weather's been shitty lately. I couldn't see the dented side from my vantage point driving by, so I couldn't tell if they'd made a start on it or not. I guess not, otherwise they'd have called me. Perhaps they started on the smaller dents first.

It's occurred to me however, that I should get my eyes checked. It's been quite some time and I've been feeling rather squinty lately. The only problem...my private health insurance doesn't cut back in until June... unless I go to Centrelink, wait for who knows how long, to get a letter explaining I'm no longer receiving Newstart and thus can afford such things. I suppose though, nothing's stopping me from going to the optometrist and seeing what they say. Last time I had them checked I didn't actually need a new prescription, if I do I guess I can cross that bridge when I come to it? It's not like I have any work to go to on Monday.

Moving on, despite the amount of sleep I got last night - almost 12 hours, I'm still kind of sleepy today, no doubt I overslept. My brain feels sluggish too, I tried to - finally - take up the curtain that's going in front of my basket storage, but I made some kind of mistake and had to unpick it again! Very annoying.

Ooo! I've just received an email from my parents, I sent them one a few hours ago after which I found out there'd been a big earthquake in Japan. Fortunately, it was in the far south of the country so neither parental unit, brother, sister-in-law or niece have been affected.

Anyway! I need to head to bed because work's on tomorrow so I have to be bright eyed and bushy tailed for that. Plus I need to do my Russian before I go to sleep!

So on that note I shall be off! I'll let you know how the eyeballs go.

Goodnight all!

10:58pm: If you're wearing a dress...and have chubby thighs like me.

Alas yes, I have suffered an (admittedly) mild case of my heat rash. D: I could feel it developing about an hour into my trip into the city but there wasn't anything I could do about it, short of sticking my dress between my legs like the world's worst pair of pants.

And to add insult to injury, neither of the comic book shops even had the BTTF comic! I might as well have not gone, which certainly would have saved me the trouble. I'm a little worried about what will happen tomorrow, it's supposed to be hot so I want to wear a dress to work at the library, but what if I'm still sore? I tried putting on some shorts, but that doesn't really help.

Buggeeeer.

Oh well, I do have good news though! I got to see the giant book and have my photo with it! And that's the dress I made :OD Is it just me though or am I looking a little plump...damn cheese. :OP

And I got caught up watching the tennis - Fed-Ex played Joko in the semi's at the Aussie Open...and lost! Awww, so sad! Then Henri LeConte the funniest man in tennis was/is playing a Fast4 mixed doubles match and I was busy laughing at that.

However, my eyeballs are sore along with my thighs so I'm gonna cut this entry short and hit the hay. Tomorrow is gonna be busy...

Wish me luck!

Goodnight!

10:48pm: Well, they probably didn't because they're surgeons, but I almost did! I'm watching a show called Body Bizzare, which as you can guess is about...bizarre body stuff. Right now they're profiling a poor guy who ended up with a 400 pound tumour in his stomach! Like, what the fuck? The poor guy! He's had most of it removed thankfully, but geeze. The real kicker though was that the guy couldn't get treated for 14 years (that's how it got so big) because he's in the US and didn't have proper medical insurance. Damnit USA, think about your choices!

Moving on from bizarre body stuff, today was my third training session at Mona Vale Library, however I'm feeling popular because I also got a call from the Mall wanting to know if I could do a shift there this afternoon. Sadly I could not, but hey it's great they're calling me. :O) I feel rather popular now.

As for the morning job, I had a bit of a surprise when I arrived to find the air conditioning men all ready there. They weren't supposed to come until 2pm! Since Mrs S in a wheelchair and the air conditioner was being put into the bedroom this was most problematic and we had to be quick with the showering and dressing. It all worked out in the end though, still who just shows up like that? Tradespeople can be have very inconvienent timing.

In other news, my eyeballs are dry and sore, I wonder if it's because of the heating in the library because I certainly haven't been sitting in front of a computer all day. Maybe I should invest in some eye drops or that mist spray stuff. But obviously not right now, now I shall go to bed! Also I haven't been getting quite enough sleep and we all know what happened last week.

So, I wish you all good night!

11:33pm: I probably shouldn't have, but JB Hi-Fi was having a buy two get one free thing going on and they had all the Rugrats DVDs (I think) and I could't help myself. It cost me $115 all up, but that was for 9 DVD boxsets! Sadly, they don't seem to have any special features, but I've always wanted to see all the Rugrats episodes, Australia didn't broadcast them all.

In other news...my eyeballs are quite sore at the moment, beats me why, I haven't been on the laptop all day or anything. Bit of a mystery really.

Perhaps it's because I had such a busy day, since it was ice skating day, so I got down to business right away putting on my laundry, however I managed to screw up the timing so the second load didn't end until after 1pm and then I hung them out before heading off for Macquarie. By this time though, it was a quarter to two! Obviously, I was going to cut it close, but then to top it off I got almost all the red lights!

So in the end I only got half an hour worth of skating today, booo. Still the cashier at the ice skating rink were nice enough to charge me $13 instead of the usual $14.

After I bought all the DVDs I headed off for church, getting there in good time, yay. However, the regular organist is back and things got a bit awkward because the strange lad from the other week was back, he's the Altar Assistant's son after all (although I'm not sure where the kid has been before last week, I've never seen him there before), and the Organist can't abide people chatting in church at the best of times! I think the kid might have ADD or something because he chats a lot and can't keep still. I guess his father thought maybe he could be the back-up PowerPoint person, but with such scatterbrainedness that's rather unlikely.

The mystery continues!

Anyway, due to my eyeballs I shall forego the Memes for today and hope they'll be OK tomorrow!

And now, I'm off! Goodnight all!

10:13pm: My left eyeball has been an ass all day long, it started this morning with eyelashes falling in my eye that made life difficult and uncomfortable.

It stopped doing that in time for me to go to the library - phew! - but then the irritation came back in the form of dry eyes, and everything feels gritty and there's a general feeling of blurriness.

I was hoping to get some reading done tonight, I've almost finished the book on Russia, but the eyeball issue has made that rather difficult and I pretty much just want to head to bed.

It's a big day tomorrow, the interview! I've got my outfit planned out and the two forms that I need to hand over to the interview panel. I probably should consider how I might answer some of the questions they'll ask, I hope I can make a good showing, they were impressed with my resume, so I have to capitalise on that.

Aside from that, there's not much more to report, except that the car is acting odd, when I went out this morning the windows were completely frosted up, but as I discovered not just on the outside...they were inside too. Like I had to wipe the inside of the windshield, and roll down my side window just so I could see where I was going! Quite concerning...the car mats did get wet the other day when the little bro left the windows open, but I'm a bit more worried that the door seals might be going. The driver's side door itself seems to get a bit stuck. I could do without that I can tell you.

Right, better head for bed now, I don't think I got quite enough zzzs last night which might also be causing some issues with my eyes.

On that note, wish me good luck!

Goodnight all!

11:02pm: They've disappeared, I went to the gym today which meant swimming afterwards and I had hopes that they were in the lost property bin because I couldn't think where else they could be...they're definitely not in the flat, but no luck! So I had to go without them and now they're being jerks. Or that could just be a coincidence, because an eyelash fell into my eyeball. Owww.

Anyway! The Figure Skating Season is over until September, just when I discovered that as an Australian I can probably watch a bunch of stuff online...or rather that with the new modem and internet we have here at the flat I can actually do so. I'm always showing up late to the party.

Anyway, it was very exciting, complete with the first Spanish World Champion ever! He's got a a cool name too - Javier Hernandez, so congrats to him! Although the falling down continued, but maybe that was just the ice, which means if Shanghai's going to try for the 2022 Winter Games they better fix that up.

Today was the Gala actually, which I also watched, and as far as I can tell the bandwidth is still OK. Although I've just realised the billing cycle has started again, so I better be careful with that.

In other news, since I have my mother's car with me, I used it today to go to the gym and also shopping - with a detour to the library because I discovered that when I returned one of the DVDs to the library last week I'd forgotten one of the disc in my computer! Shock! Horror!

Although I had to hold onto the DVD longer than planned because I didn't realise the library doesn't open until 2pm on Sundays, so off I went to that.

I also went shopping at the Mall, to Target, where I got some coathangers and some hair stuff that's supposed to defrizz hair. It said to avoid the roots, but the hair on top of my head is the frizziest so I don't know what to do about that. I've put it in though, so hopefully it'll work.

And I got my standard cheese at Aldi along with a new set of pots...in green! I'll show you a picture of them tomorrow, and some nice green tongs.

Anywho, I'm trying to decided if I should drive the car to work tomorrow...it would mean I could leave later in the morning, but I dunno...

While I ponder on that...here's some of the Memes!

Do you carry a book around with you? Inside the house? Whenever you go out? Always, everywhere, it’s practically glued to your fingers?

(And yes, digital books very much DO count as long as you’re spending time reading on your Kindle or iPad and not just loading them with books that you never actually read.)

Yes sir this is me most definitely! I have to have a book or at least some sort of reading material on my person at all times...well, mostly. So you can be pretty sure that if I'm out and about they'll be a book or Kindle in my bag! :O)

Follow Friday Four Fill-Ins

The statements:

1. Figure skating is one of my new obsessions - in case you couldn't tell! :OP

2. I so enjoy having a swim after working out at the gym.

3. Would you ever go snowboarding? Because I sure wouldn't.

4. Weekends are for kicking back and relaxing!

Without Lamps, There'd Be No Light

1. When you were seventeen, how did you spend most of your Saturdays? Pretty much the same thing I do now...surfing the net, reading, going to church and helping out with the PowerPoint

2. What was your high school locker like? Well it changed every year, so pretty non-descript, I didn't put any pictures up on the wall or any such thing.

3. When did you last have to replace a missing screw? I dunno...I put a screw in the wall put that wasn't to replace it. The screws on one of the outdoor lights need to be replaced along with the bulb, I can't even get the latern cover off to change said bulb.

4. What was the last thing you drank out of a Thermos? Uh...I don't believe I've ever drunk out of a Thermos, I prefer cold drinks as a rule, even in winter.
