11:15pm: Yes, indeed, after watching so much of the Bigwallet Marathon and seeing that it's only 6 Aussie dollars a month I decided to subscribe to James Turner's YouTube channel. It does give me access to all these nifty members-only videos, so that's fun! I'm not sure how long I'll stay subscribed, probably not forever though.

Moving on from that, not much else to report, although it's that time o' the month, which is never fun...especially on the second and third day... I'm not sure if I should go to the gym tomorrow especially since I'm working this weekend which means I can go to the gym after work on that day. Having said that though I really need to keep up with my strengthening exercises, especially having gone to see the physio this morning. She gave me some different exercises to do, although I haven't actually done them today, whoops. However, when she went to do the muscle massage thing, I had the worst pain in my glutes, apparently, the whole muscle is super tight, I think my posture is shitty... But yeah gotta work on that because seriously, when she poked that area I almost cried!

I got to work around 10am, so the day passed rather quickly, including the last hour of the day when I was on the desk, since the courier dropped off all the reserves from the other big libraries in our group and man were there a lot of reservations! I barely got through them all before needing to finish up.

Oh yeah...and despite telling myself not to, I managed to forget my apartment keys this morning, but fortunately, Mum was able to drop off the spare set to me after work, better remember to take them back on Wednesday.

And...I've stayed up way to late again, shit, so I gotta go now.

Goodnight!

10:18pm: Well only one thing can bring me back to DW, I fear, and that is...

Illness.

Yes, I'm sadly suffering right now with a sore throat, I've had it since Wednesday - which forced me to take the day off work - which you know isn't a huge issue because I have a whole lot of sick leave - but the thing is, instead of doing it's usual thing of turning into a cold, I haven't got any of those symptoms. Instead it's just been three days of a painful throat that hurts like a bitch when I swallow, although I hasten to add it's not like...impossibly painfully, but OMG it suuuucks.

I've also had body aches, which also sucks ass, because it's really uncomfortable, even when I'm lying on my comfy bed or trying to sleep. I keep waking up like 3am because the paracetamol has worn off. Why you gotta only be effective for four hours, man? (Maybe I should look for that long-lasting stuff)

So, anyway, I went to see a doctor today because I was a bit concerned that it was still so sore, but that turned out to be a bit of a waste of money, because the only place I could find doesn't bulk-bill, so even with the rebate I'm 50 bucks out of pocket! With my current financial situation that's money I can ill-afford to spend. Alas the doctor couldn't say whether it was a bacterial infection - which needs antibiotics - or viral. She did give me a script for antibiotics in case the throat gets more painful, but I don't want to take them if I don't need to.

So yeah...that's my tale of woe. I'm sure you all enjoyed it :OP

But, I better be off now since it's almost 11pm and I should get as many zzzs as I can to fight this thing off.

Goodnight all!

10:06pm: Well sort of...it's more the Council, but alas my contract as Collections Librarian ended on Thursday. The good news is, I have the Collections Assistant position and thus I still have a job.

The bad news is, it's less money and hours, so I'll have to be careful budget wise and hope for lots of extra desk shifts.

Meanwhile, I'll hopefully be able to enrol in a Basic Cataloguing course which will help when the Collections Librarian job is actually advertised, since that's something I should be able to do in that job (I have had some practice doing copy-cataloguing though.

Anywho, just wanted to let you all know I'm still alive and give a quick update. With any luck I'll actually do some more updating, but... Who knows :OP

For now though, goodnight!
anonymoose_au: (Whoops)
11:07pm: Man, it's been forever since I updated! Almost two months! I've let myself down, I've let my journal down and...maybe let you my loyal readers down, but probably not :OP

Anyway! Since my last update I've settled into my new role as Collections Librarian and it's been going awesomely! Not long into the job my supervisor said I was doing so well that it's pretty likely my contract will get extended! I sure hope so, because the apartment building is set to be completed in December this year and with an actual (nearly) full-time job I can probably afford to live in it.

Of course, there's also the chance that I'll actually interview to get the job permanently, which worries me purely because according the the law they can only judge an applicant based on how they interview (even if said applicant is int he position already) and I'm known for not been the best at interviews. Although I have been told that my interviewing skills are getting better so perhaps there's no need to worry. Fingers crossed!

So yes, the job has been going really well! I've caught up on the backlog and I'm learning new stuff - soon I'll be getting to know about cataloguing, which will be good because at present there's only one person there who can catalogue stuff from scratch so as you can imagine she's super busy! Plus new skills are always a bonus.

Suffice to say, I'm really happy with how life is going, I've got an awesome job, awesome co-workers and awesome peeks into the new books that are coming out. :O)

About the only downside is...it's not quite full-time as I mentioned, however I usually get an extra shift on the weekend which brings me up to 32 hours, which still isn't quite full-time, but seeing as I'm being paid as a librarian now certainly gives me way more money than I had before. Although I need to be careful in that respect, I went on a bit of a spending spree with Pusheen goods (ha ha no-one's surprised at that I bet!) as well as some Yuri on Ice related stuff so I don't have quite as much as hoped.

However! I did - for the first time in I don't know how many years - get a refund from my tax return! Which I meant to pay towards my HECs debt, I say meant because I managed to send it to the wrong account at the Tax Office. Which reminds me that I was meant to call them and find out where it is this week (I did it last Friday), but now it's the weekend again and I can't. Oh fail. I hope it hasn't disappeared...I need that it's like $1,500!

Lastly, I have had trouble making sure I get enough zzzs, I set up my FitBit to tell me when it's time for me to head off to bed, but then like a dumbass I ignore it and next thing I know I'm only getting 7 hours. Which doesn't sound too bad, but after a couple of days of this I end up with a headache and that's just not good.

Fortunately, I should be able to catch up on my zzzs tonight - for the first time in a while I won't be working either day on the weekend because I've only got half an hour left out of the total hours I can work (the maximum is 35, my part-time work is 28 hours, so that leaves me only 7 hours that I can do). I am heading over to M and Grandpa's tomorrow to play Canasta with M, but I don't need to get there until 11am.

Anywho, I'm gonna wrap this up now - perhaps next entry I can tell you about the saga of my 2-in-1 laptop LOL!

Goodnight all!

10:46pm: The badge a good friend of mine gave me as a present many years ago, it has "Librarian" on it and this week I've finally been able to put it on...

Because I've been seconded to a 3 month position as a Collections Librarian! Yes, I've sadly neglected to mention it on here, but the woman who used to be my direct boss at Mona Vale Library recommended me (apparently they hadn't had much luck filling the role?) and I was accepted for the position! How awesome is that! The lady said she has great faith in me, so perhaps with luck this might turn into a more permanent role. I sure hope that can happen! It's not quite full-time, but I do get to keep 1 of my shifts at Mona Vale so it's nearly full time, which is great news for my apartment. I'll have enough to live there if that happens.

So yes, I wore the badge (and the nice new business like dress I got at Vinnies for a steal) for my first day on Monday. Although, I actually thought I was starting the Monday before last, so that was a bit awkward, however it turned out for the best because I ended up with a cold last week, so I would have had to call in sick to my first week! It ended up been pretty embarrassing actually, because before I realised I was unwell I got a shift at Mona Vale, replacing a co-worker (because I'd cancelled them in preparation for the job), but ended up having to go home sick from it. :Oo I was at least able to go in on Friday though.

So yes! I'm a Librarian now, I haven't actually had to tell anyone what to do yet, not sure if I will? Maybe when I do a desk shift? Although that in itself is weird because rather than having it at the Mall Library where I'm based I have to go to Manly Library for those. Luckily it's easy to take a bus there since parking is pretty much impossible. I'm actually taking the bus to the Mall Library because that's easier as well, which gives me time to read on the way.

However, I also thought I might have time to write on my new 2 in 1 laptop as well...so I took it with me to work, but never did actually use it. However, I stayed over at my parents place last night and I was planning to use it to watch the Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating, but when I opened it...

The screen was cracked! It still turned on and everything, but the touch screen was all sorts of messed up and I couldn't use it! D: I've barely owned that computer for a month!

I took it to the Computer Repair Place in Dee Why this morning, to see about getting it fixed. I hoped maybe the warranty would cover it, but no...and touch screens are notoriously difficult to fix.

To make a long story short...it basically costs as much as the laptop cost me to repair it! D:

I wasn't going to do it at first...but then I remembered another Computer repair place and decided to see what they had to say. They weren't entirely sure, but by that point I'd realised if I bought a new 2 in 1 it would be more expensive then getting my current one fixed, because it was on special. The only other 2 in 1s I've seen have been at least $500 or even $600, so when you factor it in...

Also when I left it at the second place the guy there thought it might be about $225 to fix...but it's gonna be about $300, which is what I paid for the laptop. But like I said, still cheaper than throwing it away and buying a whole new 2 in 1.

Annoying as Hell however! What shitty luck and I feel like a real idiot, especially since as I said I didn't even use it on the bus!

The lesson here is...I need a padded back to carry my laptop in once I get it back.

Anywho, the JGP Ladies are on now, so I must be off. This entry can best be summed up as...you win some, you lose some.

11:38pm: Well, I know what the deal is, it's a blatant way to try and get more money out of fans by having them buy a whole bunch of boxes to try and get the thing they're looking for.

Doesn't mean it doesn't totally suck!

Of course, you can always go online and buy the thing you're looking for, but it's quite a bit more expensive (not as expensive as buying twenty boxes, but still). However, I can't really afford to do either...well I can, but I certainly shouldn't because not only did I have to pay that Centrelink bill - maybe I should have tried to get out of that :O( - I owe tax again! I haven't actually submitted the tax form yet, but that's what it says and I want to know how the fuck this keeps happening?! I'm sure I've filled out the forms properly and I'm not claiming the tax-free threshold from more than one employer and I don't make enough money to have to start paying my HECs debt back (maybe I should though, because the interest is starting to build up), so why do I constantly owe over $1,000 every tax year? It's super annoying, plus I have to dip into my saving and that money is for the apartment stamp duty.

Suuuucks.

In other news, I totally forgot that I agreed to do a library shift tomorrow afternoon, which is great moneywise, but unfortunate because I've only been to the gym once this week. If I'd remembered I would have gone yesterday or on Tuesday. Bah humbugs!

And I've just noticed how late it is, dang, I've barely written any more on my fanfic, sigh. But, I must go to bed otherwise I'll be tired tomorrow and that won't do at all.

And so I say goodnight!

10:17pm: Well, I've finally heard back from the Office of State Revenue regarding the ticket I got for driving unregistered and they basically told me "Tough shit, pay up".

Fuck me...$650 down the drain. That's basically the cost of flying to Japan, seeing Plushy at a show (in a good seat no less!) and the flight back!

Not to mention like three weeks worth of savings for the apartment stamp duty and two and a half weeks rent. So yeah this is money I can totally spare.

They really need to put this shit on a sliding scale, because this a HUGE amount of money for me, whereas for someone else it'd be a bit of an inconvenience...I get that it's supposed to be a fine and everything, but they could be reasonable. :O/

The one saving grace of this whole mess is that at least the cop was nice enough not to give me a fine for being uninsured as well, otherwise I'd be looking at having to pay over $1000!!!

Fucking sucks.

In other news I'm feeling a bit glum because I've just discovered that one of my Tumblr friends now hates Yuri on Ice aka the figure skating anime. And now I'm a bit uncomfortable because I still love it and repost lots of fan-art of it on my Tumblr...I kind of want to say something to her over Twitter about it, but I have no idea what to say. I mean...I hope she doesn't look down on me for still liking it, but I don't even know? Plus she seems to have like valid reasons for not liking it...so now I'm questioning my own taste? But I don't know.

Well, we both still like birds and Plushy so I should stop being so dramatic, perhaps. :OP

And then there's been a huge blow-out in the real life figure skating fandom, which has caused a mass exodus of fans of a particular skater from the forum I visit every day. Man, I've never been involved in a fandom breakdown before. Not a pretty sight, let me tell you. It didn't involve Plushy though! (Although...I am reminded how I find out ages after the fact how the original Plushy fandom kind of imploded way back in 2006 when some of his original fans decided to be jerkasses and ended up hating the very person they once idolised! It was total BS...and way worse since you know, they were is actual "fans" rather than haters).

That was an unnecessary ramble there...

On the upside, I got my flu shot today! My arm is a bit sore, but the doctor was very nice and when I told him I was a disability worker arranged for me to get the shot for free! Also, I got my new script for my anti-depressant, except...they always give you five repeats...so I'm not going to need one when I go and see my psychiatrist later, which will no doubt cause all sorts of confusion.

Anyway, I better be off now, since I got up earlier than usual today. Poor Mrs S though, the bathroom issue at her house has caused a lot of trouble, the original builders of the place seem to not want to take responsibilty for screwing up with construction of the bathroom.

I sure hope that sort of shit doesn't happen in my apartment when (if?) it finally happens?

So yes, on that note, goodnight!

10:57pm: OK, I might be exaggerating a bit on that, but during yesterday's and today's shifts my co-workers all made mention of my hair. I guess the hair cut I got is super stylish. All the same, it's a bit too short, I really must make sure the hairdresser doesn't cut it that short again, the sides keep falling out of my ponytail and trying to go up my nose! It sucks. :OP

Anyway, I ended up missing out on church today, I was planning on going this morning, but I was too slow in getting up and washing my hair and since I would need to catch the bus there I decided nah. Then this evening I called Dad to see if he was going to the 6pm service, but he's got a stomachache so he wasn't which would have necessitated stuffing around with Mum's car and yeah nuts to that.

However, I did manage to catch the wrong bus, it went the back way and while it was driving along I briefly considered going to church Dee Why (it is Lent after all!), but I'd have to take the bus back afterwards and it just seemed like it'd take way too long. So instead I got off at Narrabeen and walked home, stopping by the 7-11 to buy a sausage roll for dinner.

Not much else to report except I need to head to bed now because I'm getting up like half an hour earlier than usual so I can get my car to the mechanics. I'm slightly worried that my luck might continue to be shit and I'll end up not passing the safety check, but I'm sure I'm just being paranoid about that. I'm still worried about what will happen with the fine...for a brief moment I did think about begging the cop to let me off, but he did say he could have given me two tickets (the other for driving uninsured), but he only gave one, so I should be thankful for small favours. :O/ I'm not very hopeful at all that they'll cancel if for me. Suuuucks.

I should stop bitching now and hit the hay, tomorrow is going to be busy with both Mrs S and the library...wish me luck!

10:15pm: Well, at least I'm getting a good pun in, but in all seriousness this is so fucked up.

As you all know my memory sucks...and this time it's truly ruined my wallet.

I decided after watching the ice skating highlights on SBS that it was time to head to Macquarie Centre and get my skates on. So I'm driving when suddenly police car lights flash in my rearview mirror! I was surprised but thankfully had the presence of mind to pull over rather than keep driving like some of the idiots you see on RBT/ I thought maybe I was getting a random breath test, but after handing my licence over I discovered it was worse...much worse.

I had completely forgotten to register my car!

It expired last Saturday so for almost a week I've been driving around unregistered and uninsured! FUCK! How could this happen?! Why didn't I get a renewal notice?! Didn't I pay for it? (No that was my comprehensive insurance, which is a totally different thing).

The cop was very nice, but that didn't stop him from giving me a ticket for driving unregistered (although, he at least didn't give me one for being uninsured too).

A ticket for $650.

I'll type that out again for you in the back row.

SIX

HUNDRED

AND

FIFTY

DOLLARS
!!!

That's more than I earn in a week! That's nearly three weeks worth of savings towards the stamp duty for my apartment. Two and half weeks worth of rent.

It's an absolutely ENORMOUS amount of money! On top of the actual cost of registration and the CTP Greenslip (which is $900). Add to that the parking fine from a few weeks ago...and the speeding fine...my car is swallowing money like a monster. :'O(

I don't understand why this is happening! I've always been such a good driver! Now I'm speeding, illegally parking, scraping and driving unregistered like a complete loser.

What really kills me though is that for some reason, despite the fact I changed my address for my licence, Service NSW (which includes the Road Department) had my OLD address on file. How can that be?! Although as it turned out it doesn't look like the renewal slip came to my old place because I went there on my way home (I couldn't continue on to the ice rink :O( which was the cherry on top of a completely sucky cake) and the old landlord said he hadn't seen it.

So, the damn fuckers didn't even send it!! What the fuck?! The nice cop said I could ask for a review of the fine and see if they'd waive it, but I don't hold out hope...if they wouldn't take pity on me for speeding 7 minutes before I would have been going 20kms under the speed limit, I don't see why they would for driving unregistered and uninsured.

If the review fails you can take it to court, but like that'll happen! If I end up been found guilty I'd need to pay even MORE, and no way could I stand up in court and defend myself.

And here I was thinking the day was looking good because despite having forgotten to take my lunch with me to work I found my nurse's watch! It was on the shelf in the Returns Room of the library where I put my stuff, it must have fallen out. I was so glad to see it again!

However...that watch cost $7, so...it all pales in comparison.

And to top it all off? Because my car is more than five years old, it needs a safety check before I can register it. And absolutely no mechanic in the area is open on Sunday, there's no way I can register my car until Monday. I have no idea how I'm going to achieve it...I've got a shift at the library on Monday afternoon, so I'm not sure if catching a bus to Mrs S's and then back to the house to get the car and taking the car to my mechanic for the check will work because I'll only have 1.5 hours between Mrs S and the library. Although when I type it out like that....

On the other hand I feel like I need to get this looked at as soon as possible, apparently the check can take 15 minutes, but it all depends, it could end up been 40 minutes. If that happened in the 1.5 hours I'd be stuffed because the shift doesn't end until 6pm when the mechanic would be closed, so how would I even get my car?

So I guess on Monday morning I'll get to the mechanic's at 7:30 - Google says he opens at 8am, but who knows maybe he'll open early.

The thing is, I don't want to tell my parents about this...there's nothing they can do about it and even if they lent me money I'd have to pay it back so it's not like I'd save any money. However...Sunday night is when I usually go over there, but obviously I can't do that, even worse I can't go to church with Dad (either in the morning or the evening) because there's no way to get there by public transport (or at least not without catching two buses). But I'm a creature of habit so what am I meant to say? Although it's just occurred to me I could simply tell Dad (Mum will be away at a hotel) that my car's out of rego so I can't drive it without mentioning the supreme fuck-up that was the fine. I guess that'll have to do.

The other big disappoint is that I was supposed to see my grandparents' and little bro tomorrow morning (to thank the former for the money to go on the cruise and to finally give the latter that huge Ferrero Roche I got just after Christmas and which goes off at the end of this month), but obviously I can't drive there either. I rang the little bro to tell him my woes (he's had fines himself so he was most sympathetic) and he did offer to come and pick me up and even drive me to work, although we hadn't actually asked M and Grandpa if they were available for tomorrow so he called them up to ask, but they haven't got back to us yet, so who knows what will happen there.

Oh...and lastly, my activity tracker is still MIA, I called the library, but it wasn't in lost property, but then again...it's hard to describe, also the shelves are magnetic so maybe it's stuck to one of them. As for the Medical Centre, they didn't answer the phone so I have no idea if it could be there. I was planning to go there tomorrow to look, but...can't do that.

Okay then...let's wrap it up here, I still have my Russian to do.

Goodnight.

11:42pm: So in the daylight this morning the car didn't look nearly as bad as I feared, although the scratches are still most unfortunate. My poor poor car. I did actually try to use my auto paint to cover them, but I dunno how well that'll work, however, I'm in no position to spend any money fixing it, especially with the letter I got today.

Yes, when I got home from Mrs S's and the Warriewood Square and saw the envelope in the mailbox my spirits lifted! Until I picked it up and felt how light it was and then saaw it was from the Office of State Revenue.

They didn't overturn my speeding ticket! What a bag of dicks, I have sped one other time during my whole driving life (and there were no cops or cameras around soo they don't know that), it was 7 minutes before the school zone time ended and the fact that $180 is a financial burden on me (more than a shift's worth) fell on deaf ears. What a fuck-up.

Obviously, I'll have to pay it since I'm certainly not going to court to argue about it - it'd cost me even more money and time.

So yes,not the best of luck there.

However! Because my place wasn't very tidy and Mum had to go shopping for some stuff, as well as it being unseasonably warm today instead of coming over to the Granny Flat, we went to Warriewood Square where I finally found a pair of shorts suitable for work (it only took going to just about every clothing shop in the place!) and got my medication - which I hadn't been able to purchase before because my low-income card has expired so now I have to pay the full subsidised price, which is $26.

Note to self I owe Mum $150 all up now...but hey! The shorts were only $12, nice.

Right, better wrap this up and hit the hay, I've got a library shift and volunteering tomorrow so I need my zzzs!

Goodnight all!

PS Oh I almost forgot, I had the weirdest dream last night - I was on a cruise ship with my two brothers, my parents and another person I didn't know. 11:49pm: t-shirt when I saw it in K-Mart this evening! Because, how could I not! Especially since I seem to recall seeing the same shirts last year, but not getting one only to find them all sold out when I went back!

Anyway, it's a men's extra-small, because apparently K-Mart doesn't have BTTF shirts for ladies, which seems quite the rip-off, they have plenty of Star Wars themed t-shirts in the women's section, so why not BTTF. But it fits pretty damn well, so yaaay.

Moving on, my busy day when very well! Although for some reason that may or may not be related my right thumb hurts when I bend it, I have no idea what I could have done to it. I guess I could have picked up some heavy books at work today...Man, I need to figure out some exercises for it, I've been working on my other fingers at the gym with weights, but I have no idea how to get the thumb involved.

Anywho, as you can no doubt see I left it quite a bit late to do this entry so I don't have time to say much more, but my bank card still hasn't arrived! It better come tomorrow otherwise I'm going to have to ring my mother up so she can pay for my hair to be done over the phone (although I've just realised, she's doing so relief teaching tomorrow so she may not be available, shiiit) Plus I haven't actually paid for the reunion! So you know, that'll be kind of awkward.

But, there's still tomorrow! So fingers crossed it arrives! And that my cupcakes turn out well, I got the green food colouring today, must remember not to put too much of it in, last time I used red food colouring it was a bit overkill, LOL!

8:00pm: I'm watching RBT which reminds me of the segment on the show we have here Have You Been Paying Attention? (man, when's that coming back, I love that show), it's actually hard to tell sometimes who's over or under. Some of them are just really bad at English so are very confused by the instructions, which isn't all that surprising because when you actually listen to them they use some odd language. "Expel your breath through this device..." Like what the...?

Anyway, I'm updating early tonight because I have to go to bed sooner rather than later - no joke this time because I need to get to Mrs S's an hour and fifteen minutes earlier than usual because she has to leave at 9:35am to get to a doctor's appointment.

This mean I need to get up an hour earlier too, which means I need to get to bed at...calculates...10:30 accounting for time taken to get to sleep. So yes, can't let time get away from me too much, as it so often does once 8pm comes around. :OP

What else to report? Well, my bank card still isn't here, which really, really sucks, I'm really hoping it gets here tomorrow, otherwise I'm going to have to go to the Mall and take some money out at the actual branch because I have about 50 cents in my wallet after going food shopping today. And I didn't even get cucumber, boo.

Hmm, these guys on RBT have interesting stories...the guy on right now had to take his goat to the vet! Also...apparently if your roadside test indicates you've breathed over the limit and they take you to the station or the booze bus they put you handcuffs! That seems a bit harsh.

What else...nothing much, except I've just looked at my emails and my Pusheen stuff is on the way! Hooray! I was starting to worry I'd sent money to the wrong account! I wonder how long it'll take to get here? If it arrives before the bank card though...

Although...it's left me thinking if I should get another bank account or something so in this sort of situation I'd have a back-up. Only thing is...another bank account means bank fees and what money would I even put in there? I guess I could check if my ING Direct account has a card. I don't think so though, I'm pretty sure it's just an interest saving account.

What can you do?

Well, I'll tell you want I'm gonna do I'm going to get my dinner! I dilly-dallied in putting it on so it's only just ready now.

Right, I'll be off, wish me luck tomorrow with the early rising! At least I'll have more time to clean up my bedroom!

Goodnight!

11:43pm: It seems like you need to spend it!

My latest annoyance is my phone, which is about two years old now and was out of date when I bought it. Now, far be it for me to need the newest phone out there, but I'm having trouble with my current one. First off it never seems to have enough memory even though I've inserted an SD card in there and set it to function like extra storage. I keep having to clear the cache and shit, plus every so often it grinds to a halt and I have to restart it. The second problem might not actually have anything to do with the phone...that is I often find myself unable to receive photos SMSed from people. And sometimes I don't even get their regular SMSes that don't have any photos! It happened yesterday actually! Mrs S sent me a photo of the kettle she needs me to purchase along with a separate SMS telling me that the Christmas Party start time had been moved to 6:30 rather than 7pm.

Neither of these got to me, despite the fact that nothing showed up on Mrs S's phone to say they hadn't got through (as far as I know my phone will say "Message unsuccessful" if it doesn't go), which meant I was late to the party - although they hadn't ordered yet so I wasn't late late. Now as I said, this could well be some sort of issue with my carrier because I'm quite sure my old mobile had trouble getting SMSes too. Either way very annoying.

I briefly considered getting the Motorola Moto G3 from Aldi when I was out shopping this afternoon, which is the next level up from my phone (still out of date, though, LOL), but it was $250 and that's a fair chunk of change. So, I didn't, apart from anything else I should really investigate if it's Spintel's fault I'm not getting photos and SMSes before doing that. They used to be contactable 7 days a week, but I'm not sure if that's true anymore.

Anywho, moving on, since it's getting late an I need to go to sleep ASAP, I've done some of my Secret Santa shopping, but I've only spent $30 so far and the maximum is $50 and I'm pretty sure other people will probably spend the maximum so it seems wrong not to do so myself. However one of the things my Secret Santa wants is something that I can't really buy until the end of next week - because it's a pot of flowers that are ready to bloom and if I was to buy it too soon it will have bloomed before I give it! Or I could go for the CD option, although I'm not sure I want to return that 70s CD set I got, because the songs on it look really good, plus I'm not sure where I've put the receipt. But what was I saying about saving money? :OP

Anywho, I'll have to ponder on that later because tomorrow I have quite a few things to do aside from going to work - decide what I'm going to wear for the big party on Sunday, have my hair done, wax and all that jazz. And with deciding what to wear I need to put that outfit together before leaving for work tomorrow morning since I won't have time afterwards!

So I bid you all, goodnight!

10:29pm: There was just a huge thunderstorm here in my suburb (and surrounding areas I assume), with flashes of lightning and bolts across the sky with big gust of wind and rain pelting down. I got a bit scared I have to say, I've never been a fan of lightning, although at least unlike last week I wasn't in my car at the time Still it was the sort of storm that makes you realise how easy it could stop a clock or send a DeLorean back in time. ;O)

Moving on, I'm wondering if I should send my application in for the temporary job at Mona Vale Library tonight or wait for tomorrow. I've pretty much written the cover letter and everything and I do wonder if waiting until the last day is bad form, but on the other hand I'm not sure it actually is ready. although as it turns out my mother might not be able to come over tomorrow after all (it seems she forgot that I work Friday mornings) so it's not like I can show it to her. I did think about calling the person on the ad though ust to see if they're looking for anything in particular or at least make sure they know that I'm interested!

Anywho...what else to report? Well I did my volunteering today, which was good, I caught the bus and actually read my book! (Usually I end up looking at my mobile instead :OP) I did get a bit concerned when I realised I'd managed to leave my drink bottle back at the Granny Fat but thankfully it didn't end up being that hot.

I can't think of what else to write, so here let's have a meme before a wrap this entry up.

Memes please! )

That's right I remembered another important and not so good news I received today...my rent hasn't been coming out of my account! No wonder I've had so much money lately! And now my savings are horribly depleted. Son of a bitch. Good thing I had it though... still that sucks. :O(

Right, work tomorrow then the psychiatrist so off I go!

10:47pm: It's really messed up to be honest...the person who's passed away isn't famous or someone I personally know, but one of the administrators of the Official Plushenko Forum, where I get my daily news on Plushy related sheninigans. It's very sad, and came out of left field! I think she must have had an illness of some sort.

So the Plushy fandom is quite sad about this, Plushy himself even posted condolences. So, it's a big thing.

Makes one feel a bit grim.

I was still feeling off in the abdominal area today, but thankfully it seems to have settled down, fingers crossed this continues because tomorrow evening there's a work function that I RSVPed for and it'd be a shame if I didn't get a chance to go.

Also the latest episode of the figure skating anime was on today! There's only five episodes left now - or is it four? So things are coming to a head. I wonder what's going to happen? I am a bit bummed that I can't afford to buy these really cute pillows of the show's three main characters. They're so cute! But aside from being too expensive they're also way too big so alas...

In other news, I took my car in for its service today and bizarrely enough the mechanic said I need to get my back tyres changed, but no mention of the front ones - even the one with the little chunk missing. How weird! But it sounds rather serious - one of them is balding a bit and could be contributing to a strange noise the car is making. So there's a cost for me, not sure how I'm going to cover that...I wonder if I should ask for a gift certificate to a tyre shop for my Kris Kringle gift!

And lastly because it's getting late, I'm most disappointed that I didn't realise my lack of cheese slices, because I didn't have enough to make lasagna! I hope the mince will be all right for lunch tomorrow. I'm sure it will be.

And now, I must be off! (Oh! I did of course go to the library for my volunteering today, the two co-ordinators were giving a talk at an old folk's home, but they left instructions for me and there were cupcakes in the kitchen so that all worked out very well!)

11:47pm: Regarding the internet, it's one confusing muddle. I didn't update yesterday, but basically the landlord came by not long after I got home - before I headed for the library - to ask if I'd sorted it all out. I asked him if the agent had called him and was a bit surprised when he said no because setting up a meeting between us all was how this was meant to be decided. Anywho, I decided to tell him about the possibilities I'd come up with, the $300 (plus?) new phone line installation was not a winner, but the suggestion I get an ADSL +2 line set up on his phone line under my name but with the router in his house went over even worse! Now admittedly, I didn't really explain the "in my name" part all that well, but I got the idea that I was getting into bad territory here. Like, my lease might not get renewed in February kind of idea, so I told him not to worry about the phone line I'd just deal.

Of course, this thoroughly sucks, I mean, I think I can get by on my phone like I mentioned last time I updated, but it would mean sacrificing regular visits to Tumblr or watching ice skating etc and it seems kind of...primitive to not have access to internet in this day and age.

So, I did what I usually do in this situation and called Mum, because I also wanted to tell her that we shouldn't go ahead with the awning idea, because the landlord probably wouldn't want people messing with his property. However, Mum pointed out that when she bought that idea up with him a few weeks back he was all for it, also she mentioned the important reason for getting it, for the summer time, because the way the Granny Flat faces means that the sun will shine in during then like nobody's business. Sure, I don't pay the electricity and I've got an air-con in here, but as Mum pointed out the landlord probably won't be thrilled when/if his electricity bill goes through the roof because I need to run the air-con all day!

She asked me if I'd called the agent to remind her that she was supposed to be setting up a meeting to discuss it, but I was hesitant. Although as Mum pointed out, the agent will be talking from a business prospective and would surely be better at convincing the landlord of the importance of having a phone line - especially if we - or rather I - offered to pay for it. Which, you know, I didn't want to do because it's expensive, but what can you do? I might be living in this place for quite a while, so....

Anyway, it'll still be a while before I find out what happens, especially since I got an email tonight saying that a new agent is taking over this property - which I hope doesn't complicate shit too much.

On a final note, I have to get my butt to bed because I need to get up early to meet Mum at Aldi to buy some awnings (they're actually the ones you put on the side of caravans) so I have to get up early (yuk).

So on that note I bid you all goodnight!

11:02pm: And it sure sucks for those who get diagnosed with his syndrome too!

I speak of Dr Hans Asperger, sadly pronounced "ASS-berger" instead of "As-pergers" like you think it would. Honestly, been on the autism spectrum is hard enough without having to put up with those shenanigans m

Although I guess you can't blame a person for how their name is pronounced.

Anywho, I'm updating this on my phone so I can keep a tight rein on my data usage. Because I got last month's mobile bill and man, it's ugly, were talking about $20 more than usual, ugh!

To further my distraction from the net I've been playing The Sims 3, whoo! I'm playing Doc's father and he's just arrived at university, exciting times. I should start updating my Sims journal...or maybe get a Tumblr for it. Hmmm, what say you?

Right, I still have to do my Russian so I better haul.

Goodnight all!

9:23pm: I don't actually see how the latter is possible, because this afternoon when I finished work I went to the old Granny Flat to clean and there was absolutely nothing left in there of mine.

So...where's my personalised Nutella label?! I'm super concerned that I threw it out :O( That would be...well not a tragedy, or devastating, but it sure would suck. Like I said they don't have the promotion going on anymore, the closest I could get would be to print one off on my printer, but it wouldn't be waterproof or anything.

Also, some of my smiley hooks are missing...it's a bit odd. Perhaps they're in the car somewhere? But I'm not sure how I could have missed them, I thought I checked really carefully, but maybe not?

Anyway, moving on, it's past 10pm and I've written three paragraphs on this entry, but I uploaded some more photos! First up the entry area, or as I like to call it, the Foy-yay. I don't know where the chest of drawers came from, I could have sworn it wasn't there when Mum and I inspected the place, but they're fabulous! And the bookcase is slim as anything but look at all the books I managed to fit on it! Although admittedly the bottom two shelves are doubled, but I can deal.

Speaking of books, with a fair amount of rearranging and doubling up of books in the middle section of the buffet cabinet I fit almost all my books in! Can we have a Hell yeah! ;OD

I still need to get another crate because the one that the rest of the books are in won't fit in the crate holder - I don't know how that happened. Although I'm not sure when because the places where the crates are available are a bit out of my way.

But I guess I don't need a short shelf or cabinet to put under the bench of the kitchen since I've managed to sort this book issue out, which is a good thing because I'll probably need to store my paper recycling bin and garbage bin under there, as well as my cupcake maker. Although I dunno...I feel like a cabinet would look better but who knows.

The next picture is of my pantry, which Mum and her friend so kindly put together for me (with the help of the guy who put the bench in I would think) and though narrow I managed to get pretty much everything in there. Go me!

And lastly, here's the controls for the stove/oven. Now is it just me or does it look like each knob turns on two of the three stove tops at a time? Since when has an uncoloured circle equalled on?

It's a weird little unit though, what with the three stove tops and also the fact that it's called an Estelle Email though I'm quite sure predates email as we know it. :OP

What else to report? Well, it was windy as all Hell today and when I got home I discovered that all the paper I'd put in the recycling bin and left outside due to lack of room with the drying rack up had strewn themselves all over the yard! I managed to gather them all up and put the paper bin inside.

I also got a bin for the kitchen, a cute one in green! It's like a smaller version a wheelie bin, I think it looks pretty sharp, although I'm sure my mother will diss it. :OP

There was something else I was gonna write, but now I've forgotten what it was! Oh, well the heater my father bought over does have a problem...in that two of the four heating elements don't actually work, so it's on at the moment but not really heating as well as it could. Hmmm, I need to find time to go to M and Grandpa's to search for my heater...and play Canasta with M too! I'll have to see what a good day will be.

And let's catch up on the Memes a Bit! )

Man, once again this entry has totally got away from me...better wrap this up and head to bed, still gotta catch up on zzzs. Tomorrow is going to be busy again, I have to go back to the old granny flat for the outgoing inspection because it was still wet this afternoon since the last thing I did was mop the floor. Hopefully, I've done a good job and will get my entire deposit back! I owe my other some money!

For now, goodnight!

10:59pm: Yep, here I am in the new place, which as predicted by Mum doesn't smell so weird now I'm in here.

On the upside, I can now watch the TV from bed, on the downside, I haven't moved any of my books that are in the pantry at the old Granny Flat, but my new one is pretty much full...so where am I supposed to put them?! D:

Anyway it was a seriously full-on day today, what with the moving men, it seemed to take aaages for them to get my furniture and some of the crates out of the old Granny Flat, and it did get a bit dicey when time came to move the crate holder thingie, dismantling it would have taken way too long, but it's not exactly sturdy - the top and sides of the metal rails are screwed into the shell, but the three separate rail sections are only held together by these metal clips - some of which have all ready broken off and that's without moving it. But the guys managed it, yay!

While they were doing this I was filling up my car with stuff to take over, having dropped off the rest of my clothes after finishing at Mrs S's place. So by the time the men had finished packing their truck I was ready to head down to the new place too. So down we went - although it took a bit longer than usual because a tree had fallen onto one of the roads so the SES were there to clean it up and as a result one side of the road was closed and lollypop men were there to either tell us to 'go slow' or 'stop'.

Anyway, the unloading of the truck went great! Although I missed out on thanking the men for their help because Mum sent me back up to the old place to pick up more stuff since technically I'm paid up to Friday although the landlords' are happy for me to have a few extra days. By the time I got back from loading the men were gone, which was for the best really since it'd taken them two hours so that cost me $220!

Also the whitegoods arrived before the men and I got too the new place, which was a big relief because I was worried that the two trucks would show up at the same time and it'd be difficult to move stuff in - seeing as the landlord's car is in the carport.

I really have to thank Mum, who did a lot of the unpacking and putting away of things, like all the crates in the crate holder and things into the wardrobe and picking up the new pantry that's going to be put up by the guy who built the shell of the crate holder. He's also going to put up a bench in the kitchen area, which reminds me...maybe we can put a little shelf under it and I can put some of my books in there as well in the narrow bookcase and the pantry. But I dunno, I might need that space for my plates and stuff.

Anyway, time is moving on, so I should wrap this up, although at least I don't have to go to the petrol station tomorrow morning because I went there this evening as it's just up the road now :O) But I skipped my Russian yesterday and I want to do it tonight before I turn in.

I'll have some pics of the new place to show tomorrow!

In the meantime good night all!

10:57pm: I swear I've seen like five of them in the one series of the show! Remind me never to stand behind a horse!

Moving on! Exciting news! I managed to go ice skating today! Hooray! :OD I did find out though that whether it's the school holidays or not the lunchtime sessions are a $20 flat rate, which was a bit of a blow. But till I had fun! Except I tied my skate laces too tight on my left skate at first and as a result my ankle was most uncomfortable going towards painful! But I finally managed retie it just right. Though that does make me wonder if I should eventually invest in new skates that properly fit and have padding in them and stuff.

In other news, I discover my smiley face nurses watch had finally run out of battery, so I decided to take it and another of my watches that doesn't seem to have a way to open to Mr Minit at the Macquarie Centre. All I can say is these batteries better last a long time, I kid you not it cost me over 30 bucks! What a rip.
I really need to find out what they use to open them because I'm sure they can't be as expensive in the long run as that.

Also, Mum came over after Scripture Class today and although the place wasn't as clean as it should have been - since I didn't stick around all that long to clean it after getting home from Mrs S's - it turned out not to matter so much because Mum had to fill out this form for her job and email it ASAP! So I had to help her with that which left her thoroughly distracted from how my place looked. Although I was supposed to have cleaned the kitchen area and SMS'ed a photo to her, but....yeah.

On a final note - because bed does call - I discovered to my disappointment that the watch I bought from Target the other day - the light purple one to go with my nice shirt - is too big! So I have to return it, which sucks because I can't find the receipt. I hope they let me at least exchange it for something because otherwise I have no idea what I can do with it.

Right, as I said I need to be getting to bed at a reasonable hour so off I go now!
