11:42pm: Which is why I didn't bother updating yesterday, and I don't really have much to report about today either.

I did go to church as Mum and Dad need me to do the Powerpoint, but aside from that I lay around all day and felt bummed because I won't be able to go to archery tomorrow. :O( Apart from anything else, I think it's raining, and as previously discussed, even without the cold I'm not sure how I'd do archery in the rain.

It was a good thing I went to church though because it meant that I finally got my package of Pusheen clothes! They're adorable! Although I have a slight problem with the dress, which looks fabulous, except the way it's cut kind of means I can't wear a bra or at least not the usual kind of bra I'd wear, maybe a strapless one would work? I kinda need to wear a bra because I'm not lacking in the boob department. I also might need to have it altered a bit, because the armholes gap a bit. The top fits great though! And I can't wait to do stuff with the scarf :O) I kinda wish I bought other stuff, since everything was half price, but I don't think there was much more I could have purchased. The swim suit was sadly a bikini, which I don't wear because of ample boobage. There was a skirt though...

Anywho, it's getting late and even though I'm not going to archery, considering the fact I'm unwell I should get all the sleep I can, especially since I need to clean my apartment tomorrow because Mum will drop by on Monday to drop off my serve of the roast dinner she, Dad and my little bro are having tomorrow. Hopefully, I'll be able to go to work on Monday, my sore throat has at least subsided, although now I have a cough, which sucks.

On that note though, I shall be off, send me healthy thoughts!

10:22pm: After a very good night's sleep (Monday didn't go as well because both Mum and her friend both snore and we were sharing a room, LOL) it was full speed ahead for the first full day in Fiji.

We started off with breakfast, which is included in our stay. It's meant to be a Tropical breakfast, but the hotel lets you have other breakfast stuff as long as it adds up to the same amount, so Mum and I shared a plate of eggs on toast, hash brown, breakfast sausage and bacon. I didn't want bacon and Mum didn't want the bacon, so we swapped those and that was good eatin'!

Then we headed off into the nearest town in the hope of buying a few things, like cheese and maybe a souvineer, there's this really cool clock at the hotel reception here, I have seen such ones before, where all the numbers have are at the bottom of the clock like they've fallen there and "Who cares?" written on it. Considering my chronic lateness this would be very handy indeed! As it happens I couldn't find said clock, but it's not really a Fiji-centric souvineer, you can buy those online (although the one here at the hotel has "Fiji Time" or something written on it), so I ended up getting a t-shirt with a turtle and Fiji written on it. Nice.

I also got my cheese! And there was a fabric shop where I found some embroidery thread, I'm working on a new Pusheen cross-stitch - tropical themed :O) We also went to the vegetable market, where we got carrots, there was also some very interestingly shaped bananas there too. Mum's friend bought a really short fat one LOL, we're going to eat it on Thursday - it's still green at present.

I did have a bit of a scare when I didn't notice a step down and my right foot landed quite heavily, but fortunately, it's OK.

Oh and we also bought a big bag of Twisties and since we had a big and late breakfast I didn't have much for lunch back at our hotel, just some of those and a carrot LOL.

After that we went to the beach just across from the hotel, which is just for hotel guests (although, there's nothing really stopping anyone from just going there, but I think people are generally honest) where we sat on beach chairs. Mum also got us some reef shoes - the hotel is on the Coral Coast of Fiji, which means there's a big coral reef on the beach that extends out for what has to be about a kilometre. So if you want to go into the water you need these reef shoes so you don't cut your foot on coral. Mum and I went into the water for a bit, but the tide was going out, so it wasn't quite deep enough to swim, we'll try again tomorrow. (Good news for me, that time o' the month is finally over!)

Then finally, the big event of the day, dinner at the fancy hotel with a Cultural Show of Fijian music and dancing. It was a most delicious dinner, a buffet! :O) And the Cultural show was really interesting too although I had trouble making out the explanations the host gave, so I was bit lost as to what was going down LOL.

The only downside of the evening was that the seat of my chair was loose, which I didn't notice until I went to pull it in closed to the table, a which point I got one of my fingers caught between the seat and the frame and that hurt like an absolute bitch! I'm pretty sure I'm going to end up with a bruise under my nail after that, ouch.

In other news, I got the 11th prompt of McFly July done and posted, but I didn't write any on others, there was quite a bit of downtime today but I was working on my embroidery instead. Ah well, you can only do your best.

Anywho, it's coming up to 11pm, so I should probably head off and do my Duolingo before my mother and her friend decide to head to bed.

Goodnight!

11:06pm: Eek it's after 11pm and I haven't done my McFly July fanfic prompt for today, I've started it, but not finished it yet.

Anyway, to sum up the subject heading, this morning I was late for the bus, which was my own fault and at the stop just across from my apartment building two buses were at the stop - one that went Manly and behind it was the one to the Mall, which obviously couldn't see me, so fair enough. I got on the Manly bus and then at the next stop when we were behind the Warringah Mall bus I jumped off, waving my hand frantically and a guy who'd just got off the bus told the driver to hold on.

And then the fucker shut the doors before I could get to the bus and drove off!! What an asshole! I hope the minute he saved leaving me in the dust was worth his while. Jerkass.

The only good thing was at least the Manly bus driver waited for me so I was able to get back on that bus, but of course it takes longer to get from the bus stop near the Mall to the library than the bus that goes directly into the Mall. I was so mad, I started to write up a complaint to send to the bus company - because fuck that guy - and some guy in a car who was pulling into the Mall parking lot decided to be an asshat too even though I was walking across the zebra crossing he kept on driving towards me and then pretended to be all shocked that I looked up at him with a "WTF are you doing?" face.

Bah!!

In the end I didn't send the complaint in, on the advice of a co-worker, even though I don't think the bus driver had an excuse, I was literally a second away from stepping onto the bus when he drove off. He did it on purpose! I have had a bus driver do that to me years ago and I complained in that case, because the guy stared me right in the face before shutting the doors and that was just rude!

And to top it all off, I hurt my foot running to catch the bus and it hurt for half the day, which just pissed me off more, plus I think I've got PMS, so...

Although, I'm hoping that time o' the month shows up soon, it was meant to start yesterday, but no sign yet. If it doesn't show up soon, it's going to be annoying, especially because the second and third day are the heaviest and I sure as Hell don't want to be on a plane for five hours plus in that situation. I think it might be coming though.

Anywho, once again I think I'll have to skip the meme, because I need to get to bed because I'm at the parental abode and have to drive home from here tomorrow morning with my Lite n Easy and carry on suitcase for the Fiji trip to pack.

I also need to clean my apartment, because my mother is going to come over tomorrow evening and the place is a mess!

On a final note, I finished the Pusheen decoration on the beret, hopefully it doesn't look too shitty, I'll put up a photo of it later.

For now though, Moose out!

11:15pm: As you may be able to guess from my subject heading, my fears from yesterday about getting totally blasted by my boss did not come to fruition.

Phew!

And also a fine demonstration of my ability to catastrophise. This as you can imagine is a bit of a problem for me because it usually results in me thinking the absolutely worst and worrying needlessly about what's going to happen and how bad it's going to be, when in the end it all turns out fine.

Shakes head, I'm a silly duffer.

I'm also in a bit of a rush because today is gym day and there was also a going away get together for a person leaving the library service and since it was at the pub across the road from my house I decided to pop in since the person is question is one of the selectors. Then when I got home I planned to write for the McFly July prompt I'm up to, but then I got inspired to finally try and create my own Pusheen beret.

Some years ago, I lost my beloved Pusheen beret on the bus and never found it. This was very upsetting because the beret is no longer available to buy and attempts to secure a second hand one have failed - which is not surprising because it's like the cutest thing ever.

So a couple of years ago, my mother bought me a beret that was a similar colour from the French market thing that happens every year in a nearby suburb. My hope was that I could get it professionally embroided with Pusheen's face, but alas they're not able to, I guess the face is embroided on before the beret is actually shaped to become a beret.

My only hope is to embroider it myself, which I've dilly-dallied on doing until tonight, but when the inspiration strikes... it's kinda lopsided though and only half done.

Of course, having done that I've found a website where the beret seems to be available to buy? I'm not sure I should trust this...because the hat was sold like eight years ago now, would an internet shop that's not eBay really have some just sitting around? And if so, why have I never stumbled across it before?

And now, my internet is done so I can't even check, that's not irritating or anything...

I guess that's my cue to exit, no meme today, but I've almost finished the little ficlet so at least I won't fall any further behind on McFly July 2024.

Ta ta for now!

ETA: Research shows that the website is fake, hmpf! If I want to a knockoff Pusheen product, I'll make it myself :OP

7:26pm: Yes, I went back to the gym this evening although I only did the recumbent bike and my stretches, just to ease back into it :OP I'm feeling much better though, hooray! Although my nose is still snifflely, I think that might just be from the cold weather. I tell you, it's chillier than normal this year. I'm watching the news right now - the weather is on - and apparently it was warmer than usual today, but then I didn't go out during lunch because it's school holidays at the moment and that always makes the Mall a bit of a madhouse. I'm also trying to finish the Terry Pratchett book I've been reading, I was going quite well, but unfortunately, I forgot to bring the book home last Monday, and then I didn't go to work for the rest of the week... then I forgot it again yesterday! But I have it now and I'm getting to the end so I should get to reading that.

I do need to hang up my masks though, I just washed them - yeah I still wear masks, I've kind of got used to it, and despite having just had a cold I think it's been helpful in reducing general illness. Knock on wood I think this is the first cold I've had this year? But yeah fingers and toes crossed I haven't jinxed it :OP

Apart from this not much else to report - a familiar lament of mine, however, I must make sure to contact my friends to see if anyone wants to go see Inside Out 2 - did I mention this before? LOL I can't remember and I'm too lazy to go look now. I'm not sure what to do if no-one wants to come, I guess I could ask Mum? Although that's kind of lame, LOL. One of her friends - the one I went up to Cairns with did offer to come, but I dunno.

Hmmm...did I have something else to say? Nah, I should probably try and do some McFly July fics, since the more time I wait the more I have to catch up on! Although I do want to play Cities Skylines, I restarted my Hill Valley, for no particular reason, except maybe to make it look a bit better, the one I was working on before now has sprawled out and has rather tall buildings and just generally not looking quite right.

I'm also making quite a lot of progress with my Pusheen ice skating cross stitch, I'm still trying to decide if I should cross stitch in the snow, I suppose I should, but it kinda seems like a waste because it's not like you can see the white thread unless you're looking really closely. But...we shall see!

I suppose I should stop writing about this stuff and start doing it, LOL.

Before that - catching up on the...

Friday Five

30/5/24

1. What are three things you refuse to live without?

1. Cheese (I tried to give it up once...nothing doin'!)
2. Reading
3. Hmm, my first thought was the internet, but I dunno...was life that bad without it? :OP Instead I'll say writing!

2. What are your three favorite items of clothing?

1. My emerald green coat - the lining which is polka dot fabric is fraying alas - but I still love wearing it :O)
2. My Pusheen yellow jumper (sweater), it has a sort of...embossed image of Pusheen baking on it, it's super cute!
3. This nice flower print dress I have, hmm maybe I should take that along to Fiji along with my white dress.

3. What are your three favorite books?

Ooo tough one this...the first three that come to mind:

The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 3/4 by Sue Townsend (I have to pick a specific one from the series)
The Hating Game by Sally Thorne (Yeah, it's a romance, wanna fight about it :OP)
The Mysterious Affair at Styles by Agatha Christie

4. What are three things you'd grab if you had to evacuate your house quickly?

My glasses (I need them to see!)
My laptop
Whatever Pusheen merch I could get my hands on (alas I no longer have a pet fish, so I don't have to worry about that)

5. What are your three favorite songs or musical works?

Grease
the movie
Summer Sunshine by the Corrs
Wuthering Heights by Kate Bush

Oh yeah, I just remembered what I was going to write about, I had to go on the desk for three hours today! Fortunately, not in a row, as a Collections Assistant this is quite unusual, although I was away all last week and a lot of fellow staff are on leave. I did survive though! Partly because a colleague offered to switch a shift so I didn't have to stand for two hours straight. Also the person who does the roster was kind enough to take me off the shift I had tomorrow, which is also Inter Library Loan day, so huzzah!

10:38pm: OK, I was going to title this entry "I'm OOOOLLLLD", but I should keep that in my back pocket for my 47th birthday like any self-respecting Backie would.

So yes, as of an hour or so ago I am official 40 years old O.o Shiiiit, I never imagined getting to 40, which I'm pretty sure I wrote when I turned 30 LOL. But yeah it's super weird, because I totally remember my mother being 40, she had a party at the Bowling Club near where we lived at the time. But here I am at 40 with a super messy apartment and I still order from the kids menu when I go out to eat XD Which I did twice today - once with my fellow work colleagues for lunch and then this evening for dinner with Grandpa, Mum, Dad and my little bro. Although I guess there's no need to judge myself, after all, not only do you save money, the meal sizes aren't ridiculously huge.

So, a lot has happened since I last updated, I've been meaning to do so earlier, but yeah... The first big news is unfortunately sad, my grandmother M died back in October. :O( She wasn't very well, she'd had Parkinsons for some years and she'd started getting seizures. However, I felt pretty shitty because I hadn't seen for at least a month, usually I'd visit M every second week, but in early September she moved to an actual nursing home facility because Grandpa was either having to lift her himself or would have to employ two carers because laws don't allow one carer to use a hoist. I'm not one for driving and while the nursing home wasn't THAT far away I wasn't that close either, so I never actually went to see M until the day before she died. At that point she had had a terrible seizure and was unconcious. She may have been able to hear us, but she couldn't talk, what was particularly sad for me was that I had promised to visit her and was in fact planning to that very weekend and we would have played Chinese Checkers (Grandpa even brought the game box down for me) and maybe Canasta and it never happened. :O(

The only not so sad thing was that originally I thought that M and I had an unfinished Canasta game, but as it turned out we didn't, so at least that's not kind of hanging over me.

So yeah, the funeral was on Friday 13th October, but the actual internment of her ashes only happened last Friday - mostly because that meant my older bro, who lives in Japan was able to attend with his family, which he did.

That's another big thing, the bro and his family made their yearly Christmas visit :O) My niece is 7, almost 8 so we had lots of fun together, along with my oldest nephew who's 6. My younger nephew is 2.5, so I didn't interact as much with him, but he was a lot more talkative this time around, which makes sense. They were here for 3 weeks, which incidentally was how long I took off work (yeah, whoo!), so I got to spend a lot of time with them. My niece, Mum and I were supposed to go up to the Blue Mountains to stay at a fancy hotel up there that has an ice rink attached, but alas the bro and family were delayed in coming because my older nephew had a fever so they couldn't fly out on the day they originally planned. But he recovered and they got down here and a good time was had by all! :O)

I feel like I should give more detail, but it's after 11pm, so I should wrap this up, also I didn't mention one of the most important things about today - my supervisor made me a cake for my birthday and not just any cake a Pusheen cake! Along with Pusheen cupcakes!

Here's a picture.

And yes, they were as delicious as they looked!

On that note I must be off, I've been going to bed after midnight the past few nights and I should really avoid that.

Ta ta for now!
anonymoose_au: (Whoops)
11:07pm: Man, it's been forever since I updated! Almost two months! I've let myself down, I've let my journal down and...maybe let you my loyal readers down, but probably not :OP

Anyway! Since my last update I've settled into my new role as Collections Librarian and it's been going awesomely! Not long into the job my supervisor said I was doing so well that it's pretty likely my contract will get extended! I sure hope so, because the apartment building is set to be completed in December this year and with an actual (nearly) full-time job I can probably afford to live in it.

Of course, there's also the chance that I'll actually interview to get the job permanently, which worries me purely because according the the law they can only judge an applicant based on how they interview (even if said applicant is int he position already) and I'm known for not been the best at interviews. Although I have been told that my interviewing skills are getting better so perhaps there's no need to worry. Fingers crossed!

So yes, the job has been going really well! I've caught up on the backlog and I'm learning new stuff - soon I'll be getting to know about cataloguing, which will be good because at present there's only one person there who can catalogue stuff from scratch so as you can imagine she's super busy! Plus new skills are always a bonus.

Suffice to say, I'm really happy with how life is going, I've got an awesome job, awesome co-workers and awesome peeks into the new books that are coming out. :O)

About the only downside is...it's not quite full-time as I mentioned, however I usually get an extra shift on the weekend which brings me up to 32 hours, which still isn't quite full-time, but seeing as I'm being paid as a librarian now certainly gives me way more money than I had before. Although I need to be careful in that respect, I went on a bit of a spending spree with Pusheen goods (ha ha no-one's surprised at that I bet!) as well as some Yuri on Ice related stuff so I don't have quite as much as hoped.

However! I did - for the first time in I don't know how many years - get a refund from my tax return! Which I meant to pay towards my HECs debt, I say meant because I managed to send it to the wrong account at the Tax Office. Which reminds me that I was meant to call them and find out where it is this week (I did it last Friday), but now it's the weekend again and I can't. Oh fail. I hope it hasn't disappeared...I need that it's like $1,500!

Lastly, I have had trouble making sure I get enough zzzs, I set up my FitBit to tell me when it's time for me to head off to bed, but then like a dumbass I ignore it and next thing I know I'm only getting 7 hours. Which doesn't sound too bad, but after a couple of days of this I end up with a headache and that's just not good.

Fortunately, I should be able to catch up on my zzzs tonight - for the first time in a while I won't be working either day on the weekend because I've only got half an hour left out of the total hours I can work (the maximum is 35, my part-time work is 28 hours, so that leaves me only 7 hours that I can do). I am heading over to M and Grandpa's tomorrow to play Canasta with M, but I don't need to get there until 11am.

Anywho, I'm gonna wrap this up now - perhaps next entry I can tell you about the saga of my 2-in-1 laptop LOL!

Goodnight all!

10:57pm: Actually, she arrived yesterday...but OMG, best $57 I ever spent!

She is ADORABLE! (Press the arrows to see) And huge and cuddly! I love her!

Definitely my crowning achievement of Pusheen purchases!

Which isn't to say I'm not still purchasing stuff...because I am weak. One of my Pusheen drink bottles has been leaking and getting a bit scratched up so today after ice skating I popped into the Jay Jays at the Mall to see if I could get another one.

I ended up getting a different (and more expensive) drink bottle and...this shirt (press the arrow again). Because seriously, how could I not?! I've been totally hoping to get a Baker Pusheen apron, but they've been sold out forever, so this t-shirt was clearly calling to me.

But seriously, I better not buy anything else for some time, because I'm supposed to be saving my pennies and also it's not like I have a lot space to put things.

The last thing I'm waiting on is the cross-stitch kit, which I'm sure will be arriving, along with a large parcel my parents have sent to me. Speaking of the parental units, they're off to Iceland on Sunday (Monday Moose-time) before heading to the US. Mum's been sending us updates so they've been having a good time.

Anywho, I better wrap this up because I need to get to bed, my extra work continues so I've got to keep my sleeping hours consistent, plus I do work on Sundays and go to church in the morning.

So off I go, I just wanted you all to see my Pusheen Plush! ;OD

10:35pm: Yes indeed, although that's not really why I haven't been updating - that's due to the fact I don't actually have anything interesting to say, LOL fail.

But it has been a very busy week! Not sure if I've mentioned it in a previous entry - since they're so far apart now a days - but I was asked by the Home Library Service Co-ordinator over at Dee Why to help with selections, which I do as a volunteer, but this time I get paid whoo! The reason for this is that the new HLS Officer is on holidays at the moment, plus the new library management system is being loaded up so assistance is needed.

That means for this week and next week, I've got a four hour shift on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Although I'd originally planned to in the afternoons, I've had to change that for Fridays, because I kind of forgot about them and agreed to do afternoon shifts at Mona Vale instead. Which means tomorrow I'll be working - for the first time in aaages - an actual full day. But it'll be two different locations that makes it a bit different. Plus I'll be using public transport because it's next to impossible to get a parking spot in either place these days, in fact I managed to get myself a parking ticket (ugh yes I know another one! I got one just last month at Mona Vale!) on Wednesday, so yeah. This means I'll have an hour in between shifts to get from one place to another, wish me luck!

In other news, Mrs S is back, but my hours have been cut right back, I now do only one day a week, which isn't so bad with all the extra shifts at the library - which with any luck will continue because there's so many people coming and going. Plus there's always the chance one of the jobs I went for will pan out, last week I went to one for a Librarian, which is was a bit nerve wracking, although it included a position that's full-time so...

What else to report, well, I bought more Pusheen goods because I'm weak and have a problem. :OP But that cat is just too cute! But I've probably got enough now...I've got a large Pusheen plush coming my way - not the jumbo sized one, but it's still pretty good! I shall post pics of all my goodies once she arrives. I also got a Pusheen cross-stitch kit, not sure when that'll show up.

Lastly, but far from least there's been a lot of hazard reduction burning in the area lately (where they burn parts of bushland so if there's a fire in the summertime it won't be so bad - hopefully) which has lead to a lot of nose issues. I keep worrying I'm getting a cold, but knock on wood, it seems it's mostly allergies. Still bloody annoying.

Anywho, I better wrap this up since I need to head to bed so I'll be bright and refreshed for tomorrow.

11:44pm: So a few days ago I got my Pusheen umbrella that ordered through E-Bay, which was most exciting, although it's been super hot and clear so I hadn't actually opened it. I decided to show it to Mrs S today, and I discovered that one the arms is kinda broken! D: Like you can straightened it out, but I'm not sure how well it work if it's a windy day, plus...it cost 30 bucks!

So I sent a message to the seller, who is kindly going to send me a new one, so fingers crossed it'll be OK! Otherwise I'm not sure what to do...get a refund I suppose? But it's a super cute umbrella and I want one that works. :OP

Anywho, I meant to start this entry earlier so I could type up some more stuff, but alas...I really need to work on my fan fic, which I haven't touched since the end of NaNoWriMo. Honestly me, I gotta work on my follow-through! Plus, you know, finish the thing.

I did plan to do some today, but OMG it was hot today, like crazy hot! A cool change came through not long after I got to my parents (air-conditioned place), hmpf! Originally, my parents and I were supposed to go into the city this evening to see some of the lights, all things considered it's a good thing we didn't, otherwise we would have sweated to death and then been blown of our feet and caught in a storm!

I also wanted to go swimming, but since I headed over to my parents place so late, I didn't have the chance, hopefully I can do tomorrow.

Tomorrow is my podiatrists appointment! I sure hope it is my orthodics that can be adjusted easily, not because my shoes are bad.

11:05pm: And it sucked! Obviously I turned up my water tap too much when I attached the dishwasher hose so I could put it on. I have no idea what happened! I should have gone and checked it when the dishwasher beeped, but it was still making noises like the cycle was still going. But when it stopped and I went into the kitchen to unpack it I found water was practically spurting from the tap and water was all over the floor, sink and table! Even worse, all my daily positive affirmations which I've been forgetting to do since...oh June (gotta get back onto them though) but have kept in my broken penguin cookie jar had been soaked through! D: Thankfully, I was able to put the pieces of paper out on the floor and they've now dried. However in trying to mop up all the water I knocked my penguin jar over and the head was smashed to bits. My poor jar!

However, it's not all terrible news, I decided to look up the new Pusheen cookie jar on E-bay, and had the great luck to find a place that will send it free! It cost me $45, but that's a bargain, especially since it's apparently never going to be sold here. It'll take a while to get here though, but I'm really looking forward to it! :O)

Moving on, today after scripture class, my mother came over and was pleased to see how I've been keeping my house clean, yay! :O) We also discussed dinners - since I don't have much of a repitoire, Mum is of the opinion I need to add more vegetables to whatever it is I cook, she's proabably right, I'm pretty sure I'm not getting all my serves in.

Apart from that, not much else to report, I got to bed early yesterday though (a miracle!) and got to Mrs S's an hour earlier as planned, which meant I finished an hour earlier and got to the gym, so I've done my two of that for this week. :O)

However, it's now late, so I must be off since tomorrow I've got volunteering and a library shift, so I better be ready for it!

For now, goodnight!

11:37pm: That's bloody impossible to spell, although to be fair, there's a lot of Russian words like that. Spelled like it sounds my ass, man. :OP

Anyway, the Junior Grand Prix of skating is on again, although now that daylight savings has come things are happening much later, which is a pain, I'm going to miss all the men :O( Ah well I'll catch up maybe? I dunno LOL, I'm a little concerned about my bandwidth now! However! I am hoping I can keep my eyes open for the last group of pairs because our Aussies who just won a spot for the Olympics next year are competing here today! And they're in first! Fingers crossed they do well! This is their second GP, although they didn't make the podium last time.

In other news, I finally got to the new Vinnies today, it's not far from where it used to be and it looks really nice. It also means I finally dropped off that huge bag of clothes and whatnot. I hope most of it can be resold.

Then I went to the Mall and did a bit of a shopping spree...I got two new Pusheen shirts - stop bringing out cute new ones guys! - and an adorable Pusheen wooden plaque which I have to take a photo of, because it's hilarious. :OP

Then I went looking for some undergarments, I could use one more set, but I couldn't find anything, which is shame because the sales are on. Ah well.

Right I better wrap this up because I need to finish the other bit of my Russian study, I managed to spell that word at least, LOL!

Oh and I finally called my friend to arrange to come over on Sunday, since I have the day off from work. Go me :OP

Goodnight all!

11:37pm: Yep! It's that time of year once more. A time for church, Easter eggs and a roast dinner with the maternal side of the family. It was greeeat! :OD

The only not so great thing was I didn't get nearly enough sleep last night because I woke up in the middle of the night to my poor father hacking up a lung. He's had this cough for some weeks now, although he's been to the doctor about and apparently it's not whooping cough or anything, but still it's weird. Although according to him I was also coughing and woke him up!

I can only hope it was from the doona Mum gave me to sleep under, I think it was a bit dusty rather than a sign I'm getting a cold (knock on wood, I so don't need that shit), my nose is certainly still itchy. Most irritating.

Anyway, I'm not sure what to do because there's this amazing fanfic I've been reading and the author is going to post the next chapter soon, but soon is still midnight for me and even though I get to start an hour later than usual tomorrow morning because it's a public holiday this is gonna be a loooong chapter so I probably shouldn't start reading it...

Oh and I almost forgot! I've got the photo of my Pusheen swag uploaded! Feast your eyes on the adorableness! It's beautiful I tell you. Comments are welcome - of course I won't wear all of it together at the same time, that'd be a bit much, LOL.

Right, once again I've let the side down Meme wise, but there was a lot to distract me this evening, like the new series of Doctor Who and the fact that I finally finished this book I've been reading, that sure took a while, which is weird because it was a good book. Figure that one out.

But yes I gotta head off now.

Goodnight all!

Whoops...

11:34pm: I did plan on updating yesterday, but I had to get to bed early after Monday's night/Tuesday morning's shocking lack of sleep so I didn't. But here I am today, which I'm sure you're all super excited about :OP

Actually, I do have some odd news, I bought up the idea of paying to go on a trip to Japan to see Plushy at an ice show (and you know, see my big bro and his family) and she seemed totally onboard with it! The downside is...Mum and Dad aren't actually going to be there at the time (I thought they would be, but I miscalculated) or rather there will be a show, but it's like a seven hour drive from where they'll be - or a one hour flight, but I'm not made of money, gee!

Now Plushy will be doing a show in China in August, when Mum plans to go back to Japan after my bro's second child is born and she suggested we could catch a plane via Beijing. Which is all very cool except...Mum's going to be out of the country for a month, which I obviously can't do so I would have to fly home by myself. Which...I don't think I can do...not because I'm terrified of the plane crashing but because I don't really think I could go on such a long trip in an inescapable mode of transport without freaking out.

Also...I've kind of remembered that the other carer is going home to see her family later this year, perhaps in August, in which case it'd make life difficult for Mrs S trying to find two carers to replace!

Aaah, I dunno...what should I do I wonder? Ideally I want to go to see a Japanese ice skating show and go when Dad goes as he wouldn't stay anywhere near as long as Mum would so I can get the plane back with him. Or should I like, suck it up or get something to knock me out on the plane (do they even let you do that? What if there's an emergency?) because hey at least Mum's on board with the idea?

Bah! I dunno.

In other news, I took a rather cute photo of myself in my new Pusheen gear, but the photo's on my phone and I tried posting to Tumblr with it (so I could link to it later here) but it wouldn't post. Ruuuuude. But with only ten minutes to midnight I don't have time so you'll have to wait with bated breath. :OP

And the meme as well for that matter, LOL.

Ah well, you can only do your best.

For now, though, goodnight!

11:11pm: Man, it's been a while since I've had this problem...at least to such an obvious extent - my right ovary be painful. Ouch. Most irritating.

Anyway, it's past 11 and as it turns out I've got a shift at the library tomorrow (yay! But I'm gonna be very very careful avoid speeding or parking tickets here!) which means I need to get up at a proper hour tomorrow.

But, today was a successful day! I managed to get up at 6:40am and got to work at Mrs S's on time - whoo! And Mrs S was ready in time to catch her bus to her appointment so good news!

Plus as I came in early I went home early and was able to do some of my cleaning - although my bedroom area wasn't quite up to my mother's standards, but not too bad and with her assistance (i.e her lying on my bed and directing me :OP) I've got the place looking really nice now. :O)

OH! And before I wrap up this entry I have super exciting news, my Pusheen goodies arrived today! :OD Awesoooome!

First up...Baker Pusheen! She's very small as she's a backpack clip, but still super adorable! Look at her little chef's hat. :OD

Second is the pencil with the 3D Pusheen Topper. Look at her perched on the top there, so cute! :OD

And lastly the sticky notes! The adorableness it kills me.

So, now I have official Pusheen stuff, so exciting!

However, the bank card still hasn't arrived, Mum has lent me 50 bucks, but I really hope the card arrives soon, I need to buy my ticket for the Reunion!

Right, like I said I have to be up at a decent hour so I shall be off now.

Wish me luck at work tomorrow!

11:32pm: I got an SMS from my bank this afternoon saying that due to suspicious activity my credit card has been cancelled and they need to send me a new one! Well shit. I have no idea when it happened, I called the number in the SMS (rest assured it was not a scam) all the recording on the end would say is that a suspicious transaction had been done online, but they couldn't say what said transaction was for. Which worried me a bit because I did pay that parking fine online yesterday...but when I went online to check my account, that particular transaction was still listed as having gone through, so I assume it wasn't it.

But who stole my card information! And how can I stop them doing so again? If it was an online thing is there something on my laptop that let them steal it? I have a Virus checker on my laptop, but these guys seem to be really good at finding weaknesses.

Suffice to say, I should probably but my card in one of those RDIF defender things so they can't phish me while I'm out and about. Although I'm not sure if I actually need to buy one or if just a regular thick paper sleeve will do. I guess I'll see what the net has to say.

In further not so good news, the get together with my friends today was cancelled. I'm seriously glad now that I went to the get-together on Saturday! But I'm rather bummed for my other friend, I'm not sure she got to see the other friend very much at all. :O(

Anywho, the is a bit of good news, namely that I got my kitchen and bathroom cleaned up pretty well and passed Mum's inspection after Scripture class today. Although, she did help me out a bit I have to admit, now I just need to make sure I keep the kitchen and bathroom clean, come on me, you can do it!

And now, I must head off, bed is needed, I managed to not get enough sleep last night, do'h.

Oh and after the bummer of my card, I ended up buying myself some Pusheen stuff from an Aussie shop (reasonably priced postage for the win!) and paid by direct deposit since I didn't have a credit card number, LOL :O) I wonder how long they'll come to arrive...

11:00pm: So I was gonna to type up a whole rant about what's happened in the USA, but I don't want to think about it and frankly I have no idea when I'm going to be able to watch the news or even The Project again. I was saying to Mrs S today that someone needs to come up with Trump-Free News where you can find out the important stuff going on in the world without having to be subjected to that thing.

So...I dunno, I've really got no idea what to write, I feel creatively drained right now.

However, I did remember I forgot to upload this! It's the first page of the Pusheen colouring book that I coloured. Super cute huh! I feel like I'll be using this book a lot over the next few weeks! :OP

But yes, I feeling pretty slack right now, so excuse the super short entry.

Now, I'm going to have ice cream.

11:14pm: Indeed so, as I mentioned a few weeks back after the interview I didn't hold much hope, still it sucks to hear it or in this case read it through an email.

Yes, it was very odd, but I heard I didn't get the job through email because apparently when the person tried to call me my phone number was restricted. WTF? Weird! I haven't had any problems with people calling my mobile before. At least...I don't think so, although it's been a while since anyone's actually called me, mostly it's been SMSing. I should probably check that out, maybe all the changing around of my mobile plan has done something.

Although...Mrs S did call me last Wednesday...but then it's a new month, hmmm.

However, it's not all bad news, the person had some feedback for me and wants to discuss the sorts of jobs I should be applying to the next time I come to the library. Whoo, that's cool! Although it would seem interacting with the pubic in the library setting is not my talent. Hmpf! I'm not sure that's true, however I do like the idea of working in the back of house at libraries.

Which reminds me I've got to apply for that one day a week job at the Local Studies Area! I guess no-one has applied because they've opened it to full-time employees too, dang. On the other hand...maybe they just need a number of people before they can assign someone to the job.

Moving on, exciting news! My Pusheen colouring book arrived today! It's so adorable! I can't wait to start doing some colouring in it. So cute. :OD And having it delivered to the pharmacy near my parents' place was a good move if I do say so myself. And handy since after helping at Catholic Scripture today I popped by Mum and Dad's to tell Mum how it went and see her off to the airport. I was surprised her flight left so late, but it turns out she's going via KL and will be in a hotel for a few hours and she's also only going with a carry-on and laptop bag! Wow! That's a new one for Mum! It does mean she was able to take advantage of the cheap deal I suppose, the ads for those usually say things about checked baggage not included.

In other news...the Library Manager at Belrose Library is screwing me around a bit...this afternoon he called to offer me a shift tomorrow afternoon which I was happy to take. I then went to the trouble of calling the Dee Why Library Home Library Service Co-ordinator about only coming in tomorrow morning for one hour, only to have the guy call me back and say he didn't need me after all! WTF? How does that happen?

I'm starting to wonder if it's something personal! As I've mentioned, I haven't had a casual shift at the Warringah libraries since before Easter this year. I hope not.

Right, I better wrap this up because I see to be developing a slight headache, obviously I been on the laptop too much lately (yesterday for example I only went outside to clean out the fan intakes because it's been switching itself off from overheating!).

So, I shall bid you all goodnight!

11:08pm: Well, obviously he got real like 20 years ago when the show was on, but I've been watching it since finding the DVDs at the library and I've got up to Season 4 now and there's been some serious issues cropping up here. I guess these are the "Special Episodes" they mentioned on IMDB, although they seem a lot less cloying then the ones that showed up on Quincy M.E - man some of those had no subtly whatsoever in those.

But yeah, interesting episodes.

Anyway, I did mean to start working on this entry an hour ago, but I got distracted by MacGyver, so this entry isn't going to be very interesting and also because I'm working on a new Pusheen plushy - because as it turned out you don't cut holes to put the legs and arms in, which was a fact I only discovered after doing it, son of a bitch. Oh well, I'm hoping second time around the plush will look better, they usually do!

Before I head off, I am cautiously hopeful that Nedshenko V will make it through, I purchased him today after getting the water from my tank checked. The guys at Petstock said it was perfect. However, they didn't have any Betta fish there so I got one from Pet Barn instead, because well...he was there and looking so nice and green. I've got the new food, so I guess I'll feed him tomorrow and I'm also keeping the tap feature thing in the tank because I'm pretty sure it's too strong - Bettas don't like strong currents. And finally I'm keeping the light off for a few days.

Right I gotta do my Russian and then hit the hay so let's wrap this up...I'll get back to you on the Memes...hopefully.

Yawn!

anonymoose_au: (I Don't Know...)
11:07pm: Man, I'm oddly tired, in fact I'm rather surprised I've made it to this late in the night! Although I have to get a move on because I want to wake up at a decent hour tomorrow as I have plans for before work.

But yeah, it's rather odd because I checked my fitness tracker app and it said that I woke up during light sleep, so I would have thought I'd be nice and refreshed.

So, I'm feeling quite scatterbrained, although I decided to make a go at making another Pusheen plush from a pattern that looks like it'll turn out better than the other one, since I kind of had to modify a non-Pusheen pattern for that.

So far it's going pretty well, except that I haven't figured out how to attach the arms and legs, am I meant to sew them straight on? Or cut a little slit to secure them that way? I really don't know, I suppose I should go looking online for any info.

What else to report? Well, it's almost the last day of the Paralympics all ready! Man, where does the time go? Australia's going super well though! Our athletes have totally kicked ass in the pool and not too bad on the track either. So that's pretty awesome.

Anyway, due to lack of coherency I'm gonna have to leave this entry here without any attempt to catch up on me Memes!

I did plan on having my aquarium water tested today, I actually took the tank into Petstock yesterday, but the lady there said it wasn't too small or anything and that the fish food though expired really shouldn't be deadly (I noticed that it has expired the other day, I thought perhaps that was the root of my problem), though I did buy some more fish food. When I got home yesterday after work I set up the tank to give it some time to cycle and took some of the water in a container today for the testing. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough, so they couldn't, I guess I'll have to do that tomorrow. I was surprised to see that at this particular Petstock the one in Brookvale, that all the Siamese Fighting Fish were gone! Gee, maybe the problem was with the fish instead. Or maybe a bunch of other people decided to buy some since I was in there on Wednesday - which is probably much more likely.

Right, better be off now.
