11:06pm: Eek it's after 11pm and I haven't done my McFly July fanfic prompt for today, I've started it, but not finished it yet.

Anyway, to sum up the subject heading, this morning I was late for the bus, which was my own fault and at the stop just across from my apartment building two buses were at the stop - one that went Manly and behind it was the one to the Mall, which obviously couldn't see me, so fair enough. I got on the Manly bus and then at the next stop when we were behind the Warringah Mall bus I jumped off, waving my hand frantically and a guy who'd just got off the bus told the driver to hold on.

And then the fucker shut the doors before I could get to the bus and drove off!! What an asshole! I hope the minute he saved leaving me in the dust was worth his while. Jerkass.

The only good thing was at least the Manly bus driver waited for me so I was able to get back on that bus, but of course it takes longer to get from the bus stop near the Mall to the library than the bus that goes directly into the Mall. I was so mad, I started to write up a complaint to send to the bus company - because fuck that guy - and some guy in a car who was pulling into the Mall parking lot decided to be an asshat too even though I was walking across the zebra crossing he kept on driving towards me and then pretended to be all shocked that I looked up at him with a "WTF are you doing?" face.

Bah!!

In the end I didn't send the complaint in, on the advice of a co-worker, even though I don't think the bus driver had an excuse, I was literally a second away from stepping onto the bus when he drove off. He did it on purpose! I have had a bus driver do that to me years ago and I complained in that case, because the guy stared me right in the face before shutting the doors and that was just rude!

And to top it all off, I hurt my foot running to catch the bus and it hurt for half the day, which just pissed me off more, plus I think I've got PMS, so...

Although, I'm hoping that time o' the month shows up soon, it was meant to start yesterday, but no sign yet. If it doesn't show up soon, it's going to be annoying, especially because the second and third day are the heaviest and I sure as Hell don't want to be on a plane for five hours plus in that situation. I think it might be coming though.

Anywho, once again I think I'll have to skip the meme, because I need to get to bed because I'm at the parental abode and have to drive home from here tomorrow morning with my Lite n Easy and carry on suitcase for the Fiji trip to pack.

I also need to clean my apartment, because my mother is going to come over tomorrow evening and the place is a mess!

On a final note, I finished the Pusheen decoration on the beret, hopefully it doesn't look too shitty, I'll put up a photo of it later.

For now though, Moose out!

10:35pm: Yes indeed, although that's not really why I haven't been updating - that's due to the fact I don't actually have anything interesting to say, LOL fail.

But it has been a very busy week! Not sure if I've mentioned it in a previous entry - since they're so far apart now a days - but I was asked by the Home Library Service Co-ordinator over at Dee Why to help with selections, which I do as a volunteer, but this time I get paid whoo! The reason for this is that the new HLS Officer is on holidays at the moment, plus the new library management system is being loaded up so assistance is needed.

That means for this week and next week, I've got a four hour shift on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Although I'd originally planned to in the afternoons, I've had to change that for Fridays, because I kind of forgot about them and agreed to do afternoon shifts at Mona Vale instead. Which means tomorrow I'll be working - for the first time in aaages - an actual full day. But it'll be two different locations that makes it a bit different. Plus I'll be using public transport because it's next to impossible to get a parking spot in either place these days, in fact I managed to get myself a parking ticket (ugh yes I know another one! I got one just last month at Mona Vale!) on Wednesday, so yeah. This means I'll have an hour in between shifts to get from one place to another, wish me luck!

In other news, Mrs S is back, but my hours have been cut right back, I now do only one day a week, which isn't so bad with all the extra shifts at the library - which with any luck will continue because there's so many people coming and going. Plus there's always the chance one of the jobs I went for will pan out, last week I went to one for a Librarian, which is was a bit nerve wracking, although it included a position that's full-time so...

What else to report, well, I bought more Pusheen goods because I'm weak and have a problem. :OP But that cat is just too cute! But I've probably got enough now...I've got a large Pusheen plush coming my way - not the jumbo sized one, but it's still pretty good! I shall post pics of all my goodies once she arrives. I also got a Pusheen cross-stitch kit, not sure when that'll show up.

Lastly, but far from least there's been a lot of hazard reduction burning in the area lately (where they burn parts of bushland so if there's a fire in the summertime it won't be so bad - hopefully) which has lead to a lot of nose issues. I keep worrying I'm getting a cold, but knock on wood, it seems it's mostly allergies. Still bloody annoying.

Anywho, I better wrap this up since I need to head to bed so I'll be bright and refreshed for tomorrow.

Goodnight all!

11:23pm: Not anything about me for once but on the news tonight the son of the head of the Australia Tax Office has been busted for skimming money that should have been going to the tax office. Oops... A kid hasn't embarrassed his father in this country since the son of a cabinet minister wracked up a giant phone bill on his father's parlimentary account! Whoopsie.

Moving on, I took the bus to volunteering today, which is interesting because at the moment the bus drivers are strike, yet the buses here on the Northern Beaches all seemed to be running just fine. Obviously, it wasn't an employee-wide strike. Apparently the State Government is annoyed by this, saying it's disruptive, to which I reply "duh", what's the point of having a strike if it's not going to inconvenience people?

In other news, the Orange Cheeto of Doom is having a bad week, to which I say "HA!" take that, you dickhead. Although of course he's having a big old tantrum over the whole thing. What a piece of work. I do remain concerned that even if he is thrown out of office Mike Pence will become President, and he doesn't sound much better - in fact in many ways he sounds worse. Bloody Republicans.

And, I've just noticed how late it is, I'm meant to be asleep now, a couple of nights ago I felt like total crap and I'm pretty sure a lack of sleep might be the culprit. So yes, I better head off!

10:29pm: There was just a huge thunderstorm here in my suburb (and surrounding areas I assume), with flashes of lightning and bolts across the sky with big gust of wind and rain pelting down. I got a bit scared I have to say, I've never been a fan of lightning, although at least unlike last week I wasn't in my car at the time Still it was the sort of storm that makes you realise how easy it could stop a clock or send a DeLorean back in time. ;O)

Moving on, I'm wondering if I should send my application in for the temporary job at Mona Vale Library tonight or wait for tomorrow. I've pretty much written the cover letter and everything and I do wonder if waiting until the last day is bad form, but on the other hand I'm not sure it actually is ready. although as it turns out my mother might not be able to come over tomorrow after all (it seems she forgot that I work Friday mornings) so it's not like I can show it to her. I did think about calling the person on the ad though ust to see if they're looking for anything in particular or at least make sure they know that I'm interested!

Anywho...what else to report? Well I did my volunteering today, which was good, I caught the bus and actually read my book! (Usually I end up looking at my mobile instead :OP) I did get a bit concerned when I realised I'd managed to leave my drink bottle back at the Granny Fat but thankfully it didn't end up being that hot.

I can't think of what else to write, so here let's have a meme before a wrap this entry up.

Memes please! )

That's right I remembered another important and not so good news I received today...my rent hasn't been coming out of my account! No wonder I've had so much money lately! And now my savings are horribly depleted. Son of a bitch. Good thing I had it though... still that sucks. :O(

11:42pm: Well, to be fair I'm probably not grumbling that much right now, but that title just called out to me. :OP In fact what I am is short on time...again.

But I did get what I wanted to get done today, except for finding some pinstriped pants! Why are there none around? I want to look professional when I go to work dang it.

Oh and the interview with the person at work didn't happen because they got called away for a meeting, I assume they didn't know about the meeting when we made the arrangements last week. Not to worry though, I just did my volunteering. We're meeting next week instead.

Speaking of volunteering, with Christmas coming up some Home Library Service patrons want extra items since there's less deliveries. Only one guy actually wanted extra items today, but damn son he's hard to pick items for! I basically spent a whole hour trying to find something for him! Which I didn't get through nearly as many selections as I usually do, boo.

I also got some reading done since I took the bus to and from the library, although I didn't get to Innovations to return something for Mrs S and hopefully pick up something else for her if it hasn't been sold out. Ah well, I guess I'll have to do it some other day.

Right, it's almost midnight so I have to haul butt now.

10:58pm: Yes, I decided to take the bus today, not just to Dee Why Library to do my volunteering, but also to Warringah Mall where I bought some pants Mrs S wanted me to get for her and to look for a collapsable bucket at the Reject Shop which she told me about. But I'm not sure if there's such a thing, the guy I asked there certainly hadn't heard of it. There's collapsable laundry baskets, but I can't use one of those to empty water from Plushenko's fish tank! I guess I'll have to stick with the small garbage bin I bought at the Japanese discount shop last week.

Anywho, I got the pants for Mrs S, which is good! But still no luck finding nicely green coloured 100% cotton sheets for me, although admittedly I didn't look that hard, I headed out later than I planned so I didn't really have time to hang around, unless I wanted to be late getting home from the library.

Speaking of...tomorrow is the interview! OMG! It's at 2pm so I don't have to rush from work with Mrs S tomorrow or anything, but I'm not exactly sure what I should wear, apparently it's going to be quite hot tomorrow so I suppose I should wear a dress or skirt. Except I haven't done my legs in a few weeks so they're looking a bit unacceptable by social standards. :OP

Not much else to report although I had the most bizarre dream last night where I suddenly discovered two of the Nedshenkos in my old fish tank, one was dead, but the other was hanging on so the dream ended with me trying to revive him and properly dispose of the one that died. I couldn't put surviving Nedshenko in Plushenko's tank because two male Siamese Fighting Fish will kill each other if they're put together. Suffice to say I woke up without knowing if still-alive Nedshenko made it through.

Right, so I need to head off because as I mentioned yesterday I told my UP activity tracker thing I'd go to bed at 11:18pm so I can get the proper amount of sleep. And that's in 8 minutes!

So on that note, goodnight all! Wish me luck at the interview tomorrow!

11:19pm: Yes, all went well with the service! Hooray! I had planned to go home in between dropping the car off and going to the meeting at noon, but the bus never showed! I have no idea how I missed it, but eventually I decided to head to Mona Vale Library to return a book and also to donate some stuff I bought today to make Winter Care Kits for people who are homeless. Although...you wouldn't think it was anywhere near winter with the temperature we had today...it got to 27 degrees today! O.o

Going to the library was a good move because I was able to catch a lift to the meeting place with some co-workers. As it happened though the meeting was a bit of a bust because the Administrator and Interim General Manager got held up and so never showed up! I say a bit of a bust because there was a Q and A session with two upper level people (I'm not sure of their exact positions), so some questions were answered. But there was a lot of standing up, good thing I had my sneakers on!

After the meeting finished I wandered back over to Warriewood Square and did some browsing before heading off to wait for the bus, I never found out if it came or not because I got a phone call from the garage telling me the service was finished. Hooray! And it only cost $206! it wasn't a major service, but still that's a pretty good deal. :O)

And I wasn't imagining it before, the Mazda's power-steering was a bit...loose? It feels a lot more secure now. Nice. :O)

Right, I also made a fabulous purchase at K-Mart today - Winter Garfield PJs! I don't actually drink coffee, but I figured...what the Hell. :O) However, I do have to wash them before wearing them because they've got that weird chemical smell.

Moving on here's a meme before I head off.

Saturday 9

: These Boots Were Made for Walkin' (1966):

1) In this song/video, Ms. Sinatra's boots make a serious fashion statement. Do you choose footwear for comfort or fashion? Definitely comfort! I couldn't even wear high heels until a few years ago when I started going to the gym and strengthening my ankles.

2) This is by far the biggest hit of Nancy Sinatra's career, which includes 6 top ten hits. Can you name another? Nope. :OP

3) Nancy recorded it on Reprise Records, which was founded by her father, Frank. Did your parents give you a leg up in your chosen career? Aside from their support? No, but hey that's super important wouldn't you say?

4) Professionally Nancy has been involved in espionage, singing the theme to a James Bond movie and appearing in an episode of The Man from UNCLE. Do you enjoy spy/secret agent stories? Eh, nah, at lest not the one's I've heard of or seen...James Bond is such a ho.

5) Nancy maintains the official Sinatra family website, which includes a link to the site of Mia Farrow. Ms. Farrow was, briefly, Nancy's stepmother, and obviously they are still on good terms. Do you have a big, extended family? Well my father's side of the family certainly is! :O) He has two brothers and three sisters all of who are married with families of their own. So family get-togethers on that side are big! Mum's side of the family not so much, but we do see that side a lot more.

6) Nancy's music -- and posters -- were very popular with the troops during the Vietnam War. Nancy continues to return their loyalty and affection with her efforts on behalf of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund. Here's your chance to promote a cause that's near and dear to your heart. What charity gets your support? Water.org! Which gives people in disadvantaged places access to water. I'm helping them via the Tab for A Cause thing. :O)

7) Nancy hosts a Sirius radio show devoted to her father's music. Do you have a subscription to a satellite radio or podcast network? Nope, those things aren't really my bag.

8) Nancy has said that she and her sister Tina had a more comfortable relationship with their famous father than their late brother, Frank, Jr., did. Do you think it's easier for mothers to get along with their sons, while fathers have an easier time with their daughters? Hmmm, I dunno, it depends on the parents' I guess! I get on with both my parents, so lucky me. :O)

9) Random question: Tonight's dinner is on us. Would you prefer to eat at a casual restaurant with exceptional food, or an exclusive restaurant with so-so food but a celebrity clientele? Casual restaurant with exceptional food! Because even if celebrities are at a restaurant I'd bee too shy to go up to them. Besides...they just want to enjoy their meal I'm sure.

Right, only ten minutes 'til midnight! Better be off now!

11:16pm: But apparently that's what the designers on this show like to do, not that I've seen it very much, but in the episodes I have seen have involved them. And it's rather weird, because it makes the house really stick out and sometimes it looks pretty tacky. Plus...on both occasions they where terrace houses, so one really should consider the neighbours when they're doing weird shit to the facade.

Anyway, I'm sure none of you are interested in that, especially since I can't even remember the name of the show :OP, so moving on I shall tell you about today! I think I ate too many crisps yesterday and my digestive system was none too pleased this morning, however, I feel much better now. Hopefully this will continue because tomorrow its back to work at the library and stomach pain can be very distracting there.

I also decided to take the bus to the Info Booth at Avalon today, which didn't take all that long, despite the detour the bus takes through a suburb, the only problem I had was when I went to buy some curtain weights - I discovered a fabric shop in Avalon that I didn't know existed and realised...I'd left my wallet at home, do'h! This came back to bite me when I had to go out again after getting home to withdraw my rent from the bank, the IGA has an ATM out the front, but it's one of those non-branded ones that charges eveeryone two bucks to use it, which I ain't doing, so I had to drive down the the 7-11, which I parked down the street from only to discover there's parking spaces in there for people who aren't filling up with petrol. Do'h fail!

But, I paid the rent and did my laundry so that's done for this week, wipes brow, happily, although I have a terrible feeling I might have left some socks unwashed...whoops.

Anyway! It's Friday - which is Meme time sooo

10:09pm: I'm feeling totally displeased right now, I've just discovered that despite my best efforts in applying the pimple cream and then waiting for it to dry before putting my PJs on, my Garfield PJs have been bleached by the cream! Now there's a big pink splotch on the back. I am thoroughly bummed by that because I'm quite sure you can't get these PJs at K-Mart anymore because I was just there earlier this week and I didn't see them. Sigh. I guess the only upside is its on the back so it's not like I can see it.

I'm probably being a bit overdramatic, but today hasn't been the best for me, this morning I had abdominal cramps and it was only good luck that I was able to get to Mrs S's. I tried driving there myself, but while I felt well enough to be able to do my work, driving is a whole different matter. So I ended up back in front of my house not sure what to do, except see if C, my landlady was still home because I saw her when I left. It turns out she was and was kind enough to give me a lift, so I didn't let Mrs S down at least.

After I finished up I went over to Mum and Dad's house on the bus, just in time to see Dad's car leaving, I figured that he might be going to get Mum from the airport - so I went in to enjoy the air conditioning and wait for them. After nearly two hours though I decided that they probably weren't coming any time soon and I should probably get myself home because the weather was looking pretty bad.

It took a lot longer than planned though, as it turns out some truck driver managed to spill his load of dirt on the Harbour Bridge and the knock on effect resulted in a huge delay for the buses. Good thing I had my book to read.

My abdominal area remains somewhat unsettled, but I think I should be good for tomorrow - fingers crossed.

Whoops, I've gotten distracted by the Russian Junior Nationals - the kid out there right now is wearing a very bizarre costume, even by figure skating standards. He's got suspenders...that don't actually go over his shoulders. WTF is that?

What else to report? Well not much, the weekly memes are decrease in number though! Another one the Follow Friday Four Fill-Ins as gone now, how sad. But there's still the two Friday Fives' so...

Slow

1. What’s something you make that takes a really long time to cook? I'm not a the person who cooks for a long time, I'm too lazy for that, LOL. I guess the longest would be lasagna, but even then that's only about an hour.

2. Of books you’ve completed, which took you the most time to get from beginning to end? Hmmm, I'm not actually sure. I guess there's been a few books I've slogged through, maybe a month and a half to two. If a book sucks that much I usually give up on it, although I generally do finish books.

3. What’s a movie that seemed much longer than it was? The fucking Matrix, God I hated that movie, what a crapfest.

4. Who was your partner for your first slow dance? Never done a slow dance, so N/A.

5. What decision are you dragging your feet toward making? Whether I'm going skating tomorrow I guess? I've been good with the decision making lately. :OP

15/1/16

SW:TFA

1. When did you last wear a lei (or something similar)? Um, I wore some red painted flower beads a few weeks back, they came from Fiji I think.

2. What are your thoughts on organically grown produce? Um...I don't really have any...although I did read somewhere that it takes more water to grow organic stuff than non-organic stuff, but I don't know about that.

3. Which Goldie Hawn movies have you seen? The only one I can think of is Death Becomes Her and I didn't really watch all of that.

4. What’s something you’ve recently and reluctantly flown solo on? Scratches head...nothing's coming to mind.

5. What experience do you have with BB or pellet guns? None whatsoever, I don't even know if you can get those things in Australia.

22/1/16

Balance

1. When opposing forces in your life pull you in different directions, how do you recenter yourself and find balance? Uh...I probably don't, which would explain some of my problems, LOL. I usually end up asking people's advice on what is more important, I guess.

2. What are often the greatest threats to your overall balance? My anxiety? Yeah, probably that.

3. If you could add just a little more of one thing to your life and have a little less of another, what would they be? Mo' money, less anxiety damnit.

4. What are pluses and minuses of hanging out with mercurial people, and what are pluses and minuses of hanging out with even-keeled people? Which tend to populate your social groups most? Hmmm, well, I guess the pluses of mercurial people are excitement and the minuses are you never know when their mood might change. With even-keeled people the pluses are emotional stability (they're probably fun too though) and the minuses...I dunno. Sometimes they might be a little too calm. As for which group populate my social group...probably even-keelers.

5. What’s you greatest challenge in maintaining a balanced diet? Not eating too much cheese and chocolate! It's a bit of a losing battle I have to say.

Right, I'll get to the other Friday Five later, in the meantime I'm trying to make heads or tails of Russian commericals, but I'm not getting anywhere really, except for recognising the word for 'everything' LMAO.

And I better be off, because I can't stay up too late, I need to be at Belrose Library at 9:30 tomorrow! Wish me luck!

10:39pm: Well not entirely, but today was a very hot day indeed and despite having turned on my air conditioner and the fan in the bedroom area it didn't seem to be doing very much at all. I was almost ready to give up, but then I discovered that I could point the vents on the air conditoner further downward so it was actually pointing at me. And I even turned off the "swing" function so all the cold air was blowing my way. And ah relief! Although tomorrow is set to be even hotter and it didn't really get comfortable until the sun set...

I suppose I could wait until sunset to come home tomorrow, I was actually planning to go to the city to see the Giant Atlas at the State Library and also buy the new BTTF comic book, but then again I totally don't want to go out if it's hot as anything! On the other hand...with all the work shifts I've got these days I don't really have a lot of time to go see the book before it goes. Eh, I suppose if the bus is air conditioned and I bring my big bottle of water with the ice cold stick thing in it. Of course, there's still the problem of the walk from the bus stop to the Library, which is quite a distance.

Bah, decision making is hard. :OP

What else to report. Well! I got another doona cover set for my bed, a nice green one, since I thought it'd be nice to have two different ones, since I've got the two different sheets sets. My one concern is that it's made of polyester, which apparently doesn't breathe very well, on these hot nights I often wake up drenched in sweat (ewww, I know). So I probably should have sprung for something cotton... The internet's opinion seems to be divided on that though.

Anyway! I better be off now, bed calls plus I don't really have anything else of interest to say. :OP

And so I say goodnight!

9:50pm: About my living situation...again...the landlords have been talking about moving recently - why I have no idea, they just bought this house seriously - which would mean I'd have to leave the Granny Flat, since as I've mentioned before you can't stipulate that someone can remain in a property unless its in a will (and maybe not even then!).

The problem is, my landlords talk a lot about various plans and ideas and then never do them - for example that washing machine in the shed next to the flat has been there for over nine months and I still can't use it because N hasn't set up the hose! And I spent 40 bucks getting a new lid for it and everything. Bit of a waste right there.

Plus there's been no movement on the car front, if I want my parking sensors it looks like I'm going to have to pay to have them installed by someone else. Bloody hopeless.

So as you can see I'm not sure if I should take these comments seriously or what? I mean, I guess a case could be made for me to just find somewhere else to go regardless just to escape the uncertainity. But I really like where I live right now! Pain in the butt.

In other news, today was the interview, which I think went pretty well...but I never can tell with these things, fingers crossed.

So anyway, after that I hurried home to change clothes before the bus to the mall came, I also had to take down my washing because rain was forecasted. I managed to get it off the line, although I didn't have time to take it back up to my flat so I had to leave it under the veranda thing - as it turned out that wasn't covered enough and so it got a bit damp.

I did manage to get the bus, though it was a very close thing! It was coming down the street as I hurried down the driveway of the house but the nice driver saw me waving and waited at the stop for me.

So yes, the day went quite well, at least until halfway through my shift at the library when I got abdominal pain for no apparent reason...and that really put a damper on everything, it was bad enough that I almost asked if I could lie down or something. It's settled down a bit now, but is still there and I don't know where I put my Buscopan so I can't even take that. Why do you to this to me digestive system? I hope it wasn't from the cream...because I ate some cupcakes with that on it.

Anyway, I should probably get to bed sooner rather than later, sooo...

Some Memes! )

Righto, I'm finally starting to catch up on those Memes...still a bit to go though, but now, bedtime! With any luck I'll sleep much better tonight because as mentioned the rain has set in so it's not nearly as hot now.

11:23pm: OK, that's a weird subject heading, but after not been able to find salted caramel stuff until I went to the Alfresco Emporium yesterday, now it's popped up again in the form of the Christmas gift from the library! Of course, now I'm wondering if I should try it out myself, or give it to my aunt. I'm not a big fan of salt, so I'm not sure if I'd like the taste. Decisions, decisions...

Anyway, so yes, the volunteer party was today, I was a bit late getting there but I didn't miss the speeches, or all the food, heh so yum! It was also amusing because it was held in the Local Studies Room, where there was a big sign saying No Food or Drink and there we were with a fruit platter, Christmas cake and scones!

After half an hour I decided to head off to the mall to see about getting small presents for my parents and little bro, but I then remembered an email I got the other day regarding the Back to the Future comic book, the third issue is all ready out! And I haven't even got the first one! However, the only comic book shops are in the city, so...I decided to leave my car parked at the mall and take the L90 in.

I went to Lincraft first and bought some fabric scissors and tried to see if they had any of the reusable shopping bags, but alas they did not (I have now ordered a bee one and a pig one from Ebay), then onto the comic shops! At the first one, which is closing down over the next year, has been around for a very long time, since the 70s, so it's sad to hear it will go. And the same two guys are still running it and they recognised me! Is my face that memorable? Anyway, I found the first issue there, but not the second, so I went to the other comic shop too.

However, they didn't have the second one either! Apparently it's only available online now, so I'll have to order it, that kinda sucks...especially because by going to the second comic shop (not to mention having to go get money from the ATM because some places still have EFTPOS minimums!) I missed the bus I needed to get so I that I wouldn't get charged for parking back at the Mall! That cost me five bucks (and 12 cents because of the credit card surchage), boooo! That's never happened to me before.

Hmpf, but I have the comics and I've read the first story, interesting stuff! Can't wait to see what other stories will unfold.

I was inspired to some creativity this evening, too, making a new mobile phone pouch, since the current one was all dirty and gross, not to mention it's too small for the phone which is how it fell out into the garbage bin on Monday!

Her'es the old one and here's the new one, which has an added bonus, I positioned the strap so I can turn it around, and on the other side is...an ice skate!. Pretty cool huh?

So my day was quite busy especially since I even got my food shopping in, go me!

Now though, I need to head off to bed, goodnight all!

11:00pm: Well...that might not be entirely accurate, I wouldn't say I'm sleepy, but my eyes have certainly felt heavy today.

What am I talking about? Well, before I headed off to Belrose Library today I was sneezing and my nose was running like a tap to the extent that I decided to skip the Herbal treatment for hayfever and take the big gun hayfever medication. Which did eventually work, although not until an hour had passed - which was rather annoying - but as I've written above, I've had heavy eyes since then. Most unwanted. I certainly hope the same thing won't happen tomorrow!

In other news...I've really done it this time, I've lost my Fit Tracker and I'm pretty sure it's gone for good because without a car I caught buses today, so unless it fell off my pants waistband - where I'd secured it, so much for that! - inside the library itself it's not going too show up this time.

However, with the wonders of Ebay I've seen a new possibility so to speak, it's called a Misfit Shine, which looks very cool, comes in green, of course and you can wear it on your sock or even around your neck as a necklace! I think I'll have a lot more luck with that one. Although I have to wait a bit though because right now I'm totally broke! I had to take some money out of my car savings just to get by this weekend. I'll keep you updated.

Moving on, work went pretty well, I got there easily enough, but getting home took ages because none of the three buses I need to catch met up with each other. Because of all this I haven't done nearly enough words on NaNo today, boo faiiil. Oh well, there's still time...

18288 / 50000 words. 37% done!

I'm almost to 40%! Except I really should have be 50% at this point. I need to pick up the pace, maybe I should write on the buses I need to catch tomorrow and Tuesday instead of playing on my mobile or reading. :OP We'll see I guess.

Well, once again I've managed to dilly dally too long so no time for the memes, but I'm sure you're not all too devestated, I'll catch up as son as I can though!

For now, goodnight!

11:21pm: OK, that's an exaggeration, but not by much! This morning at 8:30, Mum called to tell me that a lady had come by to see the car and wanted to buy it! Right away! She was just off to get the cash, but once she came back and handed it over the Chery would be hers. The reason Mum called me was because I had kept my car key of course since I was going to use the car today, so she had to get it from me, that was handy because she was able to drop me off at Dee Why before heading off back to where the car was waiting.

And hey presto by 9:40am the car was sold! Just like that! O.o

So, unless something is wrong with the Mazda 2 (knock on wood, cross fingers) I should be getting it on Tuesday! Although I'm not sure whether it'll be in the middle of the day - the chap will be taking it to the mechanic to be checked out in the morning - or the late afternoon once I finish work at the Mall. Until then, it's buses all the way. It's gone all right so far though, phew! Luckily the librarian at Dee Why was nice enough to let me leave a bit earlier than usual so I could get the bus to church.

Moving on, I've been working at the NaNo this evening, I've managed to hit the 1,667 word mark although I'm still quite a bit behind. But hey small steps. :O) Here's the word count as of now:

16668 / 50000 words. 33% done!

Nice.

No time for Memes today though, I didn't realise it was so late, but then that's usually the cry of the Moose isn't it? :O) Also I've got a shift at the Belrose library tomorrow as well, so yeah can't stay up too late, since I need to get up so I can do my laundry.

Lastly...it's been a horrible day in World News, terror attacks in Paris, Beirut and Iraq. How awful! I heard that one brave man in Beirut prevent the deaths of a hundred people by stopping a suicide bomber, sadly he died doing so. Truly horrible stuff.

On that sombre not, I'll be off, think good thoughts for the world everyone.

Goodnight all.

11:09pm: Yes, it's late so I better be quick about it, but to explain my subject heading after I finished work this morning I noticed I had a missed call on my mobile so I called back and it was Mona Vale Library wanting to know if I could come in this afternoon! Of course I said "Yes!"

It ended up being a bit complicated because in my wisdom I'd decided to take the bus to work this morning, which turned out to be a bad idea firstly because the first bus was late, which meant I missed the second and when a bus finally did come it was an all-stops one that seemed to stop at all the stops, get the red lights and traffic was slow for no reason I could discern. Long story short I ended up being 15 minutes late! Damnit! I let Mrs S know of course, so she was OK, but very irritating indeed.

The second reason it was a bad idea, was because it took quite a while to get back to the flat - the original plan for Wednesday is to go to the gym, so I didn't have work clothes only work-out clothes. So I finally managed to get to back - although I had to take the 179 instead of the 178, quickly eat lunch and then I popped over to the swimming pool at the gym - because I figured I'd at least be able to fit that in. But, I probably shouldn't have, because it was 2pm by the time I got to Mona Vale and that's when my shift begins but I hadn't found anywhere to park!

However, since I'd come in at such short notice they were cool about it, so phew! Also I later heard that some of my fellow workers who I've been training with have said nice things about me! Hooray! :OD I'm doing a good job! I love libraries so much. :OD

The only downside to today is I almost had a panic attack while driving home after going to the Mona Vale Officeworks to buy something for Mrs S. I felt quite nauseous indeed, and my stomach still feels kind of icky. Why this happened I have no idea...hopefully it was just some weird one-off thing or maybe some sort of PMS thing.

Right, so as I said, I have to get my butt to bed, so I shall wrap this entry up now.

10:26pm: So I took the bus to work today, a good choice since the weather's being very nice this week and not too freezing out. Plus it means I got to read, whoo! Plus I got there in good time, so that all worked out nicely. As for getting to the gym afterwards, well I did have to wait for a bit and catch two buses, but it wasn't too bad and I got there by 12:30, so I wasn't rushing to get to the pool before it closed.

The only thing I didn't do was go to Aldi to get my cheese, I would have had enough time as it turned out, but how was I to know the bus was going to be ten minutes late, although I suppose I should have checked the TripView app on my phone.

Oh well, I'll be going to the mall tomorrow after I finish at the library so no lack of cheese emergency will occur. :OP

Hmm...what else to report, I did a really short entry last night when I had more to say...at least I thought I did, but I seem to have forgotten whatever it was.

Hmm, well I've been using my Fitness app to see how my eating stacks up - what with my love of the sweets and cheese and whatnot. Lucky for me I don't eat huge portions, but the little macro things that come with the app show that I kinda overdo it on the fat intake, LOL, whoops.

I have to go to bed soon, because I need to go into work half an hour earlier than usual, no doubt because the turf people who were supposed to come in today and lay the artifical turf in the backyard didn't finish the job. Pft, rude!

Hmm, right now I'm watching a bridal show that pits a personal shopper (I guess?) and a designer to see if a bride wants a new dress or wear her mother's dress. You can see where this is going, since most mother's of the bride got married in the 70s or 80s their original dresses are just terrible fashionwise. So the designer pretty much takes the dress apart, yikes! What happens if the bride goes with the new dress, her mother just had her own wedding dress taken apart ant totally changed for nothing.

Why am I mentioning this? I dunno, although, this does remind me that Mum still has her wedding dress - a shocking thing from the late 70s, with big ruffles and what not. Thing is...I wouldn't fit in it! Mum was very thin in her younger years, plus she got married when she was like 23. I can imagine the designer for this show would have to use the material from the puffy sleeves to make it big enough, but I can't imagine it looking very good.

But no seriously, they're really taking apart the mother's wedding dress here and I don't see the point...it should at least be recognisible.

Right...better wrap this up and get ready to head for bed. Oh wait, I did have something that was sort of exciting to report, but not...because as I was getting home I got a call from the library at the Mall which is part of the Warringah Council, offering me a shift on Monday, however when the person found out I hadn't actually done any shifts before she apologised and said since the only other person who'd be there was also a causal someone more experienced would be needed. Fair enough, but dang, so close! Oh well, I'm sure I'll get a shift there soon.

Okedoke! And now I'm off!

Goodnight all!

Public Transport

10:40pm: Thus I can't even think clearly about what I want to say in this entry! Not that anything super important happened today, except it briefly looked like I was going to get my first shift at Dee Why Library. However, as it turned out someone was all ready covering the shift for next Monday, so I'll have to wait for a while longer.

Tomorrow however is my first shift at Mona Vale, and I'm still wondering what to do about getting there, what with the parking situation in the area. I sort of feel that I should use public transport when possible, but since I have to change my clothes after working at Mrs S's that means I either have to haul them around with me, or go home afterwards to change - which seems a bit of a waste of time...I'll basically have to turn right around the second I do that. So, I don't know. I'm currently thinking I could take the car to Mrs. S's park in the All-Day Park and Ride parking lot next to her house, catch the bus to Mona Vale which has the added benefit of me been able to catch the bus back there after the library shift and not have to worry about the buses synching up to get me home.

I do make things convoluted for myself...maybe I can just Google and see if there are untimed parking spots in Mona Vale closer to the library.

Hmmm, what else to report? Not a lot, I did catch the replay of the last stage of Le Tour de France and wouldn't you know it? It looked promising for the Aussies, with one of our riders in the lead and thus able to win the stage, but there were still two laps to go, and by that time the rest of the sprinters had got to the front and the Aussie was nowhere to be seen. Ah well, you can only do your best.

Right, I better wrap this up, tomorrow is going to be a long day and I need to get the right amount of shuteye.

Wish me luck!

Goodnight!

10:30pm: Yes! One of my Plurk pals (I don't know who because they were anonymous!) was giving away two month paid accounts to a few lucky friends who put their name in. Which I did and as a result was one of the lucky ones who got one! So now I have my Pinkie Pie Mood theme to compliment the rest of my journal, yaaaay!

I can also use more icons...at least for two months, LOL, I suppose I may as well upload a few while the going is good, the account will expire oddly enough on my big brother's birthday on 15th September.

In other good news, my new mobile phone case arrived today! It's very nice, and the black holder bit for the actual phone is a more mallable plastic kind of material, which I hope won't end up breaking away like the case I had before. The only downside is the volume and button that turns off the screen are covered, they still work, but they're not quite lined up with the intentations of the black holder part. Ah well, they seem to work OK from the fiddling around I've done with it.

Moving on, I took the buses to work today, it worked quite well! And also allowed me to get quite a bit of reading done, which is the main reason I like catching public transport. Although I suppose with the Casual Pool situation I should err on the side of car taking, but perhaps not the buses to Mona Vale run pretty often, I guess I'll just need to check how quickly I can get from Mrs. S's place to the library.

Speaking of which, I still haven't received an email link for the online oritentation stuff, the HR person said she'd email a link to me by now, I wonder if I should call tomorrow or wait? I probably should call, show some iniative and stuff, it'll make me look good, right?

Finally...er...I had something to write, but I've gone and forgotten what it was now! Man, I think this is a sign I should get more sleep! I don't think I'm getting quite enough zzzs. Anyway, hopefully, whatever it was wasn't that important.

10:19pm: Of the We Don't Need Roads book, which is proving to be thoroughly engaging, so much background information! Ah, I love this stuff!

In other news, I planned to go skating after work today, but these plans were derailed by several factors, firstly, Mrs S needed me to stay a bit longer to help unpack some stuff, then I got that weird pain in my left hip area, there was a bit of a wait for the bus and lastly the run of clear skies has come to an end and it started to rain. It started while I was still working, then went away, but by the time I got back to Dee Why it was coming down again, do'h. So I went home and ended up just sitting on my butt for the rest of the evening.

And Wimbledon has come on and awww, Little Lleyton has ended his final open tennis match in the mixed doubles, farewell Lleyton! You were a great tennis player and have done Aussieland proud!

Aussie tennis is in a bit of trouble at the moment, mainly because of the men, there's like one Aussie man he doesn't make a dick of himself and act like a spoiled brat. Things have got nasty when one of our Australian sports legends - Dawn Fraser (a great swimmer) decided to make what could only be construed as a racist or at the very least prejudiced comment. Basically these three Aussies all have "foreign" sounding surnames, two of them Greek sounding and the other...Slavic or something? Anywho basically the comment was that if two of these particular players couldn't behave themselves they should go back to "where their parents came from". A comment that clearly wouldn't be made if their last names were Smith...or Fraser. Honestly, what the fuck? Makes you embarrassed to be Australian.

Anyway, hopefully these young chaps can pull their heads in so we can cheer for them without cringing whenever they decide to have a dummy spit.

Speaking of sports, there's also drama on Le Tour where three big crashes yesterday resulted in one of the favourites to win had to withdraw! Not to mention various injuries and they had to put the race into "neutral" so the riders wouldn't hurt themselves any further. I swear these last two years, I don't remember this many crashes happening before. I know someone died in the tour once, but I thought they made lots of safety improvements after that...?

It's a bit of a worry because today's stage involves...cobblestones the nemesis of bicycles that don't have wheels with traction on them! We can only hope everyone gets through safely enough, last year it was a huge mess.

Although, I won't know about it until tomorrow because I need to go to bed very soon. Luckily, there's not much else for me to report, except of started on another book one I got from the library, and I'm a bit concerned at my treatment of said book, I put it on the couch and I've managed to crease it a bit. Poor book, it looked so nice when I borrowed it. Fail, just fail.

And I have to figure out if I'm going to take the car tomorrow or not...I guess I will with the weather being what it is. Which means I can sleep in a little, nice.

Oh and one last thing before I go...I finally remembered to take the cupcakes - though it was a close thing, I had to go back upstairs and get them - good think I originally left the flat with ten minutes to spare so didn't miss the bus. They were well received by Mrs S and her husband and perhaps the other carer, I'm not sure if she ate one.

Right, must be off now.

10:52pm: I'm getting to the tail end of the big book about Russia and after what seemed to be a promising moment in 1991 the whole thing has gone down the crapper. Seriously, how can one country have so much bad luck? Although...I guess most countries in the world are pretty screwed up. Shame about Russia though, Putin certainly hasn't done it any favours in the past decade.

Moving on to something far more exciting, the interview! I'm not sure how I went though, because I suck at interviews. I'm also not entirely sure if I was late or not...the clock in the library might have said 11:20 and the interview was at 11:15, fingers crossed this won't sink me.

It was quite a rush to get there because wouldn't you know it? I made sure to bring my interview clothes all nicely placed on a coathanger only to realise...I left my backpack at home! Fuuuuck. So I had to go back to get it before driving on to Mona Vale. I was fortunate enough to get a park right in front of the library though and the JP was available right away so thank heavens for small favours!

After the interview I went to the bus depot to enquire about my beanie, there was a brief moment when looking through the lost property book that I had hope, a gray beanie was listed as having been turned in, but...alas it was not mine. I guess I can try Brookvale Depot one more time and then I'll just have to give up on it. Sniff, it was such a nice soft beanie too!

After that I went to the Mona Vale Aldi to get my cheese and then I headed back home, where I decided after talking to Mrs S this morning to see about going to the outdoor ice skating in the city. The weather was fabulous today but the forecast is for showers tomorrow and with the Dee Why Library Volunteers party on I didn't want to risk been rained out!

Luckily, there were still tickets available - plenty of them I'm sure ;O) - so I got the hot chocolate package, paid, printed out the ticket, got my skates and headed off in the car to Dee Why, where I found a parking spot so I could catch the L90 into the city.

The website had said to arrive 30 minutes before the start of the session, but as I mentioned most kids aren't on school holidays so it wasn't overly crowded. However, I did arrive to a site that wasn't too good...the Saint John's Ambulance officers were treating a girl (with her own skates) who had manged to cut up her knees something terrible. Ouch! She seemed in good spirits though.

Anyway! I didn't go to the ticket office because I was a bit confused, so I didn't get the little paper bracelet thing, but I was allowed on the ice. :OP And here's the proof, whoo! I could use a selfie stick...

There was mostly kids and a few mothers about and I enjoyed myself skating around, it's really something been outside while skating!

Right,it's rather late so I better get myself to bed right now so I don't end up missing out on my zzzs!
