10:46pm: The badge a good friend of mine gave me as a present many years ago, it has "Librarian" on it and this week I've finally been able to put it on...

Because I've been seconded to a 3 month position as a Collections Librarian! Yes, I've sadly neglected to mention it on here, but the woman who used to be my direct boss at Mona Vale Library recommended me (apparently they hadn't had much luck filling the role?) and I was accepted for the position! How awesome is that! The lady said she has great faith in me, so perhaps with luck this might turn into a more permanent role. I sure hope that can happen! It's not quite full-time, but I do get to keep 1 of my shifts at Mona Vale so it's nearly full time, which is great news for my apartment. I'll have enough to live there if that happens.

So yes, I wore the badge (and the nice new business like dress I got at Vinnies for a steal) for my first day on Monday. Although, I actually thought I was starting the Monday before last, so that was a bit awkward, however it turned out for the best because I ended up with a cold last week, so I would have had to call in sick to my first week! It ended up been pretty embarrassing actually, because before I realised I was unwell I got a shift at Mona Vale, replacing a co-worker (because I'd cancelled them in preparation for the job), but ended up having to go home sick from it. :Oo I was at least able to go in on Friday though.

So yes! I'm a Librarian now, I haven't actually had to tell anyone what to do yet, not sure if I will? Maybe when I do a desk shift? Although that in itself is weird because rather than having it at the Mall Library where I'm based I have to go to Manly Library for those. Luckily it's easy to take a bus there since parking is pretty much impossible. I'm actually taking the bus to the Mall Library because that's easier as well, which gives me time to read on the way.

However, I also thought I might have time to write on my new 2 in 1 laptop as well...so I took it with me to work, but never did actually use it. However, I stayed over at my parents place last night and I was planning to use it to watch the Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating, but when I opened it...

The screen was cracked! It still turned on and everything, but the touch screen was all sorts of messed up and I couldn't use it! D: I've barely owned that computer for a month!

I took it to the Computer Repair Place in Dee Why this morning, to see about getting it fixed. I hoped maybe the warranty would cover it, but no...and touch screens are notoriously difficult to fix.

To make a long story short...it basically costs as much as the laptop cost me to repair it! D:

I wasn't going to do it at first...but then I remembered another Computer repair place and decided to see what they had to say. They weren't entirely sure, but by that point I'd realised if I bought a new 2 in 1 it would be more expensive then getting my current one fixed, because it was on special. The only other 2 in 1s I've seen have been at least $500 or even $600, so when you factor it in...

Also when I left it at the second place the guy there thought it might be about $225 to fix...but it's gonna be about $300, which is what I paid for the laptop. But like I said, still cheaper than throwing it away and buying a whole new 2 in 1.

Annoying as Hell however! What shitty luck and I feel like a real idiot, especially since as I said I didn't even use it on the bus!

The lesson here is...I need a padded back to carry my laptop in once I get it back.

Anywho, the JGP Ladies are on now, so I must be off. This entry can best be summed up as...you win some, you lose some.

Ta ta for now!

10:42pm: Well, once again the library jobs I've applied for have gone external! I'm starting to think they're just trying to avoid hiring me! :OP Which I know isn't true, but it's really annoying all the same. Seriously, what ever happened to promotions?

I also didn't get the Library Assistant job that I interviewed for way back at the beginning of this month. Grumble, grumble.

In other news, I was quite embarrassed when I was looking at the CruiseTracker webpage and discovered...Mum and Dad's cruise is been tracked! Turns out you just had to press the 'X' up in the corner and reset the thing, that was not made clear so no wonder I missed it LOL! I guess if I actually downloaded the app on my mobile it'd be more user friendly. Hopefully my big bro didn't have the same problem I did so he was able to keep track and show his kids on the map.

Moving on, I'm concerned about my budget, I keep having to withdraw money from my savings for the Stamp Duty. I'm most concerned about this...especially if Mrs S decides to cut back my hours drastically when she gets back. Although, it does look like I'm going to get some casual shifts in the Home Library Service at Dee Why Library, so maybe my volunteering has helped me out a bit!

Apart from that, not much else to report although I'm getting a lot of reading done, which is good news, although my creative writing input seems to have gone right down the toilet. Boooo. I'm not sure what to do about that, I guess you can't force the muse. :OP

Anywho, on that note I shall be off, I need to get ready for bed, work calls tomorrow and all that.

Goodnight all!

11:05pm: And it sucked! Obviously I turned up my water tap too much when I attached the dishwasher hose so I could put it on. I have no idea what happened! I should have gone and checked it when the dishwasher beeped, but it was still making noises like the cycle was still going. But when it stopped and I went into the kitchen to unpack it I found water was practically spurting from the tap and water was all over the floor, sink and table! Even worse, all my daily positive affirmations which I've been forgetting to do since...oh June (gotta get back onto them though) but have kept in my broken penguin cookie jar had been soaked through! D: Thankfully, I was able to put the pieces of paper out on the floor and they've now dried. However in trying to mop up all the water I knocked my penguin jar over and the head was smashed to bits. My poor jar!

However, it's not all terrible news, I decided to look up the new Pusheen cookie jar on E-bay, and had the great luck to find a place that will send it free! It cost me $45, but that's a bargain, especially since it's apparently never going to be sold here. It'll take a while to get here though, but I'm really looking forward to it! :O)

Moving on, today after scripture class, my mother came over and was pleased to see how I've been keeping my house clean, yay! :O) We also discussed dinners - since I don't have much of a repitoire, Mum is of the opinion I need to add more vegetables to whatever it is I cook, she's proabably right, I'm pretty sure I'm not getting all my serves in.

Apart from that, not much else to report, I got to bed early yesterday though (a miracle!) and got to Mrs S's an hour earlier as planned, which meant I finished an hour earlier and got to the gym, so I've done my two of that for this week. :O)

However, it's now late, so I must be off since tomorrow I've got volunteering and a library shift, so I better be ready for it!

For now, goodnight!

11:56pm: Because in typical Moose fashion I made a mistake and my friend's house warming isn't until next week! Boy I feel like a dope! Especially since I made all those cupcakes...now what am I supposed to do with them? Besides eat thme of course....Good thing I went to the gym this afternoon I guess! :OP

On the plus side I did get to watch The World Team Trophy, which was super awesome! I love watching figure skating live, shame I never did it when Plushy was around. Boooo! Although he does have a show in Italy next week, perhaps they'll televise it! That'd be cool.

In other news, I managed to be fifteen minutes late to work today, on a day that the second-in-charge is on shift, of course. Argh damnit, why do I fail at life like that! She warned me that the Overall Library Manager is looking to make cuts so I better be careful. Cripes that's comforting isn't it. :OP

Right, I better be off.

11:25pm: Damnit, despite having cleaned the kitchen sink and whatnot any time I leave something out that's not completely rinsed and cleaned off a hoard of motherfucking ants invades! Now I guess this just means I should clean everything up, but I did rinse it pretty well...and my dishwasher was full so I couldn't put the saucepan in there.

Also, I'm most annoyed by the fact my ant baits don't seem to be working. Although...maybe they've just run out of...er...poison stuff, I think they only last for three months and I've had them for longer than that. Or maybe I should try and get the spray...

Except, I haven't got my card yet, so right now I only have fifteen bucks or so to my name at least until the bank card arrives or I go to the bank to withdraw cash. Except, I don't think I'd be able to get to said bank, it is open on Saturdays' but I'm pretty sure if closes before I finish work.

Anyway, I'm sure you don't really care about ants...but I don't have much more to say...except I made a bit of a mistake today when I was doing the laundry - I forgot about my car key in my pocket so it went through the machine! No wonder there was so much noise! I think the key has survived, the little light on it still goes off when I press the buttons. Also, I have just remembered that unlike my mother's car key I can still use this one like an actual key so even if it is dead or the battery is screwed up I can still get in my car to drive to work tomorrow!

Speaking of which, I've totally stayed up too late this week which is really no good for me, so I should actually get to bed at a reasonable hour tonight! And this time I still have to finish up on my Russian before I turn in! So...

11:36pm: Well, the southerly change has come through and it's not really that hot anymore, but it was bad enough that even having reconnected my air-con's hose the Granny Flat was still unbearable. The problem was my air-con kept switching itself off giving at warning that it was overheating so I could only use the fan function. And with it being 35 degrees or more that just wasn't good enough - even though I went and bought the mini-desk fan to put on my bedside table (they were on special at Coles) I ended up sweating like Rafa Nadal on a tennis court! (Have I all ready used that analogy? Well, I'm gonna use it again) So I'm back here at the parental abode.

This is probably a good thing though because the interview is tomorrow and I need Mum's help to do my hair (that's a bit sad isn't it, LOL) although I've just remembered that I left my resume folder back at the Granny Flat along with my activity tracker (I took that off before taking my shower after I went to the gym), so I guess I'll have to stop by on my way to Mona Vale tomorrow.

Aside from that I haven't got much more to say, it was just a regular sort of day (that time o' the month has appeared - which means I won't have to worry about it on the cruise which is very good news) except for the heat factor. Man...anyone denying climate change has to be an idiot, which some people clearly are, especially one I had the misfortune of seeing on Four Corners tonight, which my mother watched when she got home. Lucky for me I'd brought over one of my Air Crash Investigation DVDs and was able to watch that instead, because ew.

Right, it's almost midnight and I gotta haul, I still need to finish my Russian!

11:55pm: Indeed! With Mrs S and the two other carers, it was good times indeed! There was a special on for dinner $15 chicken pamjana with chips and salads, delicious! Although very large portions, I had no room for dessert, which I guess is a good thing since it would have cost me more and I do need to save.

Speaking of which, I was feeling guilty today because shortly after noon I got a call from Mona Vale Library asking if I wanted to come in for a shift this afternoon. However, I'd all ready promised to go in for my volunteering and it would have been too late to reschedule that (although having written t hat I probably could have moved it to tomorrow) plus if I did I would have had to hurry from work to the RSL Club for the Christmas Party and that sort of thing tends to set off my anxiety, which I totally didn't want.

So yes, suffice to say I said I couldn't and then I've felt guilty about it since, I did consider after about half an hour calling back saying I'd changed my mind, but no. What made me feel guilty more than anything was I've been praised before for my flexibilty and willingness to pick up extra shifts. On the other hand you can't just be a doormat for your work and I'm sure this won't impact on my job or anything.

So, rest easy mind!

Also I've managed to dillydallying on this entry so now I have to wrap it up and hit the hay! I've got work tomorrow and I really really need to go to the gym because I haven't gone this week and that's not cool. Especially seeing as it's a waste of my all ready tight finances if I don't actually go!

Oh and sadly I discovered this morning that like an idiot I'd left putting together my Christmas Hamper for the Church's Christmas Appeal! And now it was too late! But I was reassured to hear that the fellow I picked will still get a hamper as they got a surplus of donations. Thank goodness, how crap would I have felt otherwise! Although now I have a CD of 70 hits from the 70s. Hmmm, wonder if I should regift, return it or keep it for myself, LOL. Oh well, at least I got something for the K-Mart Wishing Tree, which I need to drop off tomorrow.

Right, now I really have to go! Goodnight all!

10:39pm: So today was the interview and I have to say...I don't think I did so well. Obviously I didn't prepare enough for it, because they were the same sort of questions I've had at such interviews before, but that didn't stop me from basically "uming" and "uhing" my whole way through. They told me to expect an answer back in about two weeks, but like I said I don't hold out a lot of hope. Damn shame because it's actually a full-time job with weekday hours so I'd be like a proper employed person.

In other news before I headed out to the interview the landlord came by to give me a letter and check that the smoke alarm was working, which it was. I also showed him the dripping tap, but unfortunately it doesn't look like he's all that sure how to get the top of the taps off either. Damn, should have got that plumber in here after all.

Huh, interesting I'm watching a doco called Body Hack and have just found out that you don't even have to be French to get in the French Foreign Legion. Not that I'm going to join, I'd last approximately point one millisecond, meanwhile the guy doing the doco is like "I'm so old compared to these guys..." which he is, but damn doesn't mean he's not fit since he ends up surviving the course and would have made the legion!

Also, Duolingo is being a bit of a pain here, I'm not sure if it's due to my phone running out of space or the storm that's outside. Maybe a bit of both? Very annoying. Especially since I'm still trying to get to bed at 11:18pm as advised by my UP app.

And also, I was going to do some memes, but Friday5 doesn't seem to be working, but I guess I'll just do the other Friday Five.

The (Other) Friday Five

15/7/16

1.How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are? Uh...like how old do I feel? I guess like 16? Which is like half my age which is kinda sad.

2.Which is worse, failing or never trying? Never trying I suppose, although failing sucks rather hard :OP

3.If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do? Because you gotta eat, man and most people's dream jobs aren't really profitable.

4.When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you’ve done? With how much I talk definitely the former!

5.What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world? The inequality, it sucks that so little of us have so much. :O(

29/7/16

1.Do you believe in reincarnation? Nah.

2.Have you ever felt that you knew someone the first time you met them? Not that I recall.

3.Have you ever visited a foreign country or city for the first time and found that you knew exactly where things were? Pft, I barely know where things are in the place I live in all the damn time, so no.

4.Have you ever looked in the mirror and 'seen' a different face? Nope, although I have looked at photos of my niece and I think she looks a Hell of a lot like my mother's baby photos. Except...I don't remember seeing photos of my mother as a baby. Weird.

5.Is the belief in UFOs, aliens, physic powers, etc, growing because the belief in religion is dying? I dunno if it's actually growing, it's probably about the same it's just more noticible because of the internet.

Right, better be off now otherwise I won't make my bed time, which is more important than ever because I didn't sleep too well last night, I think I was nervous about the job interview, hmpf!

11:48pm: So I was going to make some cupcakes tonight just because and even went down to the 7-11 on the corner to get milk, but unfortunately for me there was a problem. My eggs were off! I tested them by putting them in water and the bobbed to the top. Suffice to say, I wasn't going to risk using them! Unfortunately, I'd all ready creamed the caster sugar and butter, so I had to cover the mixing bowl and put it in the fridge. I sure hope it'll be OK for tomorrow...because otherwise, what a huge waste!

In other news, I went ice skating today after work and what fun! It wasn't nearly as busy as last Saturday and I was able to try going backwards a bit more, it seems I need to turn my head the opposite way to my instinct, which is weird, I feel like I should look over my right shoulder, but when I do I end up turning my whole body around! Still, I can't see myself ever being able to master that...Still much fun was had.

What else to report? Oh! I got my official name badge from the Mona Vale Library today! I've never had a name tag before, this is quite cool. One gentleman even made use of it, checking the name so he could use it to thank me for helping, LOL.

I also renewed a few of my library books...including one I hadn't even started yet, which was on hold, whoops so I endeavoured to power read it, and I was making pretty good progress until I realised...I wasn't actually all that interested in finding out what happened. :OP So instead I just read the end, confirmed my suspicious and I shall return it when I'm at work tomorrow. Hope the person who had it on hold enjoys it more than I did!

Also, because of the reading I have no time to do any memes! Booo. But there's not much that can be done about that now...so instead I shall be off!

Hope to have more tomorrow though.

11:32pm: You can see where this entry's going I'm sure. :O(

I came home today to discover Nedshenko the V lying listlessly in his tank, discloloured, dull eyed and dead.

Nedshenko whhyy? I thought I'd finally sorted everything out!

So that's a huge bummer, especially sinc I've had such a good day! Work went well and I even went ice skating afterwards! After watching that awesome figure skating anime yesterday I was feeling inspired! Not that I managed to do anything exciting...although someone ran into me but we managed to both stay on our feet, phew! Then I had the rather undignified experience of tripping on my skate when I was off the ice and heading for my stuff on a bench. Lucky for me there's padded tiles on the floor so I didn't hurt myself. But seriously though that's like the first time I've fallen in figure skates and I'm very glad it wasn't on the ice!

Anywho, not much else to report, except I really do have to clean my house (oh dear, that old mantra again) and I watched the reboot pilot episode of MacGyver tonight, I didn't hate it, but let it be known that no-one is as awesome as the original Mac, no matter what the ads say. :OP

And I am aware I'm falling down on the Meme front, but there's not time to catch up now, I had to do my Russian! Now that I've got the net back I can catch up on what Plushy's up to.

10:29pm: Seems they are because their women's team is currently winning against our Aussie team over at Rio. And I for one am confuzzled, isn't Poland basically landlocked? Or at least doesn't get warm enough for beach volleyball? I suppose maybe they train in some other country as many athletes do.

In other news, it turned out to not be a good day for me, for the past few days I've had a sore throat, but I've felt generally OK. However, today after working with Mrs S I headed off to the library for my shift which started off quite well, but about an hour and a half in I started feeling really icky and dizzy. It got so bad that I had to tell my co-workers and then went out back to sit down and try to feel better, but alas I only felt worse. I felt so bad in fact that I didn't think there'd be any way I could drive home, so I tried to call Mum but she was out at a church event and didn't answer, then I tried Dad but he's still battling his own cold and was in no condition to pick me up.

So in the end I had to spend about fifteen minutes lying on the floor of the Library Manager's office with a blanket over me (because I was really feeling quite dizzy) by which point after trying Mum for like the sixth time she answered and I no longer felt so badly dizzy that I would have been a danger in a moving vehicle.

So, I went home sick, which I guess can't be helped, and if I'm going to have a sick day Sunday's the best day because there's four of us on the shift. The problem, though is that as I've mentioned I'm the only one who works every weekend, the Librarian on Duty rotates, and you might also remember that a few months back I had to leave suddenly on Sunday before (although in that case it was a panic attack) and that was the with the same Librarian on duty! :Oo

She's perfectly nice and was very sympathetic, but that can't be a very good look...also I'm a bit worried that I've run out of sick days, or just days off in general because I have two days I want to take off before the end of the year. I mean I could take them off without pay (and would need to because these are important events) but that'd suck pretty hard.

So I ended up going to my parental unit's after meeting up with Mum (at the service station where she decided she needed her car washed so that took quite a while), which I'd planned to do anyway to go through the box she and Dad bought back down from my aunt's place last week. I had also planned to go to church - after missing last week - but alas that didn't happen. I did at least go through the box, there were a few things in there I wanted to keep, but the rest was fine to throw out.

I'm a bit worried how I'll feel tomorrow, but fingers crossed I'll be OK, I finally got around to eating a mandarin and you know what they say about Vitamin C.

Also, being at my parental's means I can use the internet here, thank God...I sure hope that the internet situation at the Granny Flat gets sorted out, I've all ready resigned myself to having to cough up another $15 this month for going over my mobile data limit.

Anyway, I'm gonna wrap this up because I don't want to stay up too late, vitamin C and a good night sleep is the prescription to lessen the problem with colds.

So goodnight!

11:13pm: That Aussie turn of phrase is very appropriate for today, I can tell you! Or at least one event of the day.

After another missed session of ice skating - I left on time, but once again my digestive system decided to act like a real ass with cramping and what not - I ended up down at Warriewood Square in the K-Mart looking at inline skates, or as we called them in my day roller blades. They were ridiculously cheap (30 bucks?!) and I figured..."What the Hell" and bought a pair, I thought perhaps they'd help me learn to skate better - maybe I could finally learn to skate backwards! :OP

Upon testing them out at a local park though I discovered this wasn't going to happen - first of all despite saying they'd fit sizes 5-8 my feet were really cramped in there and secondly ice is nice and smooth while pavement is not. Obviously, you get what you pay for and perhaps more expensive roller blades would work better, but these ones didn't wok very well - or perhaps it was just the pavement. Either way, I was not gliding and my lower shins started to ache almost immediately! After about ten minutes I decided "this sucks" so I wrapped them, put them back in their box and took them back. The wheels looked a bit scratched so I'm not actually sure what will happen to them, they probably can't be sold as new. Maybe they'll put them on the shelf I saw for "slightly damaged items".

After that fiasco I went to the Cookware place in the shopping centre where I bought a sugar bowl, so now I have a milk jug and a sugar bowl, although to be honest I'm not sure how often I'll use those. The sugar bowl was only six bucks though.

Then it was back home for a bit of a sit down before heading to work, which despite my digestive system still being sore was fun. Ah, books, how I love thee, let me count the ways! Although after a busy start things became very, very quiet and we sort of ran out of things to do! However, that did mean we closed on time for once, usually someone decides to come in at literally the last minute to borrow something, it can be very annoying.

After work it was church, which I was able to get to today in contrast with last week! The parental units were singing tonight and Mum's friend Mrs Lampe is staying so she was there too. I was a bit concerned when I saw that a group of kids were having their First Holy Communion, but unlike Baptism or Confirmation this particular sacrament doesn't make the mass super long. Which was good because Mum had invited me to come to dinner, I thought it was going to be at their house, but nope it was at the Chinese Restaurant across the street - I'd never noticed it there before!

Mum also invited the priest too, so that was nice, although there was quite a lot of discussion over what to order, we were going to go with the Banquet option, but the waitress said we'd end up paying too much that way - unless we're all big eaters. So we ordered individual dishes, including honey chicken, YUM!

I sort of ate and ran though because as you know I don't like driving in the dark all that much, but I made it back here without too much trouble. As I'm now typing up this entry!

Right, I better head off, even though I'm starting an hour later because of the public holiday tomorrow I don't want to muck up my sleep schedule too much.

So, no memes tonight! Instead I bid you all goodnight!

11:14pm: Fortunately this is not due to illness (knock on wood), but on the fact that I while drinking some water I sort of hiccuped and as a result inhaled half a gulp o water down the wrong pipe. It's settled down thankfully because I thought I was going to choke for a minute there! A bit scary when one lives alone.

Moving on, the rain has indeed set in for the weekend, somehow I managed to get everything hanging up in my flat, even the sheets so at least I don't have to be concerned about that. However, I am rather concerned about what this will mean for my ice skating. I always get a bit worried about driving in the rain, with any luck though perhaps it'll be calmer.

In other news I got an email today from the IT person at the library, apparently on Sunday the wi-fi network will be down! Fortunately it looks like there'll be an off-line library management system available so we won't have to do everything by hand, but considering how many people come for the computers it's going to be weird day.

I was also disappointed when I went to the Mona Vale Aldi to find the sausage dog shaped draft stoppers were sold out there too. Dang, they were the cutest little things, should have known they'd sell out quick. :O( Having said that there doesn't seem to be a draft in here, especially after Mum removed the outlet hose for the air-conditioner from the window in the bedroom. Which I really should have done myself, fail me.

However! I did have the great luck to purchase a very nice striped green business like shirt at Salvos, yay! I washed it so hopefully it'll be ready to wear on Sunday. As for Project Purple shirt, I re-sewed the collar on because it wasn't sitting right, which was really quite a pain in the butt. I also finished up the sleeves. The only thing that's left is those damn button holes...I've tried everything but I just can't get the sewing machine to do the automatic buttonhole making. Boooo. I think I might be able to manually make the outlines of the buttonholes using the machine, which hopefully won't end up biting me in the ass.

And I can only hope that it's still not too short after redoing the hem...

Anyway, time flies when you're sewing so I shall forego the memes for tonight and instead get ready to hit the hay. Zzzzs are needed! :OP

And now I say goodnight!

9:52pm: That should really be a spring, because I'm talking about is the spring on the green chair, which as previously mentioned has a broken spring that I've tried to fix with a u-shaped nail, but to no avail. The nail held for a while, but lately the spring has kept getting loose no matter how much try to put it back. Bloody pain in the butt, as I'm sure you can appreciate, so now I've tried gluing it, which I'm not really sure will work, at any rate I'm sitting in the other chair at the moment while the glue dries. I hope it works, otherwise I'm going to have to find some way to get repaired.

In other news, I went to the gym today because as it turned out it was only my last payment last week, so there's still two weeks to go. I also went to the Mall, but alas they only have one shade of grey felt, or at least they did at the art shop I went to. Although! I did have luck in Target where I got new blue towel - because the one I have is tread bare, as well as this utterly adorable quilt set. Everyone say "Awwwww" together.

There was also some not so good luck, when I left to go to the gym I forgot my keys, effectively locking me out of my flat, do'h! I was sure though, that by the time I got home one of the landlords would be at home. However, they weren't! Which I have to say was a surprise to me...I did consider waiting, but I really wanted to get inside because my little skate blades arrived! After looking around I saw that I was able to open one of the kitchen windows. Then I had to get one of the plastic lounge chairs to climb on so I could shimmy through.

I did briefly wonder what would happen if the landlords came home as I was doing this, or that the next door neighbours might think I was breaking in or something! But I got through without drama, yay! Maybe I should get an extra key and hide it outside somewhere...Or I supposed I could have just dropped by Mum and Dad's to get their spare key, but yeah as I said, I figured the landlords would be at home.

Anyway, the skate blades are really awesome! Except for one thing, I couldn't get them to stick on! I've got fabric glue, but I guess I need craft glue? But I don't have any, and super glue didn't work either. So I tried to sew them on, but the way they're made makes that impossible. So finally I glued them onto some material which I'm going to cut out and then sew onto Plushy Plush, hopefully it'll look OK!

What doesn't look right is Pusheen Plush! I'm not entirely sure what's going wrong, I altered the pattern and it looked OK flat, but not once I sewed it together and stuffed it. I'm not sure why, it's very annoying. Oh well, the experiments will continue I guess! Good thing I bought all that material after all! :OP

And now my phone is acting like a bitch, apps keep crashing or freezing up. So I've just had to shut it off, but I've just realised this very second that it was probably a case of having too many apps open, I should have tried clearing the queue thing. I don't know why the apps don't close automatically but apparently that's how it rolls.

Anywho! I better be off, tomorrow is the farewell breakfast for the Library Manager and it starts at 8:30am, so I need to get to bed way earlier than I did last night.

So I bid you all goodnight!

11:13pm: But somehow my Pusheen Plushy didn't come out right...her little ears and legs were all messed up, particularly the ears as I somehow managed to lose one? How do you even that? I thought I cut out fabric properly...Maybe I should finally bite the bullet and buy some proper fabric scissors - like the $23 ones rather than the ones I have now, which are meant to fabric scissors, but you know.

Moving on, it was a good day at the library :O) although the weather has gone right down the toilet, it keeps raining on and off so it's a good thing I didn't wash my sheets, because they would have got soaked. However, I did notice as I drove to work that my Mazda's been moved off the street, so phew I say! Although I'm still a bit surprised they left it out there on the street for like the last week! Oh well.

Anyway! I'm sleepy and having trouble concentrating, so I guess I'll keep this entry short, plus I need to finish up my Russia before midnight!

In other news, the landlord came in this afternoon to hookup the heater to the gas fireplace because it's starting to get cold out there...I'm a bit concerned that he might be perturbed by the state of the place. I really need to get with the program on things. I don't get why things look so messy whenever I'm around, but they do!

That's pretty much all I have to say right now, so I shall be off! I'll keep you updated on Project Pusheen!

Oh! And I heard from Mrs S via email today, she's having a great time on her trip and the weather is beautiful over there (as evidenced in some pics she sent ;O)

So, yes I'm off, I didn't get quite enough zzzs last night so I need to catch up on those.

Goodnight all!

11:29pm: OK that's a bit dramatic, but it was what happened today when I got to work. When I got there, I saw that a gentleman who often comes was standing n front of the door and I wonder if there was a back entrance, because said gentleman is a bit odd and I didn't want to get into a whole conversation about how the library wasn't opening until 1pm and he can't come into foyer.

But nope, there's no back entrance, at least not one I can get into with my swipe card, so back to the front I went, by the time I got there one of my co-workers was there and there was a problem...the door wasn't working! You'd swipe you card, it'd beep, but the door wouldn't move! One by one my other co-workers arrived - there's four of us on Sunday - and none of our cards could get the door open!

So eventually we had to call one of the higher up Librarians to see if she had any ideas and in the end she had to come and get in via the backdoor - which needs a special key. Although we had to wait for about 20 minutes for her to arrive, with the odd gentleman speculating on various ways to open the door - all of which would probably have set off an alarm and had the cops coming!

In the end we got inside just before the library was due to open, and luckily unlike last weekend there wasn't an avalanche of books so we managed to keep on top of everything. Good times. :O)

After finishing up there I headed off to church where Father Rex was officially installed by the Bishop as our Parish Priest. This meant there was a supper afterwards! Yummy! :OD I didn't stick around there too long because I wanted to watch David Attenborough's Great Barrier Reef doco on the ABC. Also, it was dark out there.

And I've just made a purchase of an umbrella that's small enough to fit into the waterproof bag! It's costing me $36, but it's very adorable, it has raindrops on it, some of them with faces! I'll take a pic when it arrives.

Yawn! It's later than I thought...which means...no memes! Which is kind of embarrassing, :OP I think I'll stop mentioning them and you can all just be surprised when some pop up! ;O)

For now, though, goodnight!

11:21pm: Of my sewing machine. I was trying to fix up my green and white polkadot dress using a tutorial [personal profile] isleofapples was kind enough to link me too. But I sort of misunderstood and decided to try and get and get a baste stitch by hand. Which has kinda worked but I've just realised this very second what they meant by releasing the stitch tension...and that of course there'll still be a bottom stitch and a top stitch, duuuh.

Unfortunately, it's too late for me to do anything with it now, as I have to go to bed, tomorrow is work and even though I got over 10 hours sleep last night (apparently scientists are now saying you can catch up on it, make up your mind science, gee!) that's hardly an excuse to get back into debt.

It was a busy today, I fit in going to Aldi, going to the gym, dropping off Mrs S and my unwanted stuff to Vinnies, checking out Goodwill for umbrellas (no luck there), returning my library books and feeding Mum and Dad's fish.

Oh, and get out my money for rent and do my laundry. Talk about productive! I feel good. :O)

Now, usually I'd plan to do some memes, but alas I left this update a bit too late for that. I really need to plan my updating better. However! I did do my Russian, so I'm pleased about that.

Oh I also bought a hammer from the local IGA, but my wrist must not be strong enough because even though it's a rather large hammer I still can't get the U-shaped nail to go all the way in so every so often the spring springs out. I'll either have to get the landlord to come and help, or wait for Dad to get back and come for a visit. Guess it depends how clean I can get the place...

For now though I best be off!

Goodnight all.

11:28pm: Look at the time! All right, I'll admit that adjusting to the time change when Daylight Savings finishes is easier than the other way around, but it still completely sucks that it was dark when church finished this evening.

Anyway, work today was hectic, like OMG, so...many...people and books! It was like an avalanche! And I'm sorry to say I did terribly with customer service. We're meant to be changing the old library cards to new ones whenever we get the opportunity. I've done this a number of times with no problems, but never during such a busy period. Suffice there was a major fuck up where I updated the previous customer's details! By the time I realised this it was too late and there was confusion and the lady who's card I was trying to update started getting bitchy and in the end it looked like I was going to have to send some poor person a new card they didn't ask for and would have no idea why it had even been created. I also ended up getting a bit short with one of my co-workers because I was having difficulty explaining what I'd done and they were having difficulty understanding what I'd done.

In the end the crisis was averted, but ugh, way to look like an asshat, me.

Also I forgot to bring the label with me, the one that I'm going to put around the plush kanagroo's neck - I made it up before work while enjoying the skating on SBS. But I didn't actually bring it along, and I was planning to so I'd be able to put contact on it otherwise it'll get all creased and whatnot.

I also forgot to do my timesheet...which means I'll probably have to go to Avalon via there tomorrow otherwise I won't get paid! And I've also arranged to have lunch with my parents before they head off on their trip - I need to give them the label for the kangaroo after all - so it looks like I won't be going to the gym tomorrow. Well, I did just wash my hair his morning.

Right, I am a bit worn out after the hard day at work and it's getting close to midnight so I'm gonna wrap this up now.

Goodnight all.

11:16pm: But apparently that's what the designers on this show like to do, not that I've seen it very much, but in the episodes I have seen have involved them. And it's rather weird, because it makes the house really stick out and sometimes it looks pretty tacky. Plus...on both occasions they where terrace houses, so one really should consider the neighbours when they're doing weird shit to the facade.

Anyway, I'm sure none of you are interested in that, especially since I can't even remember the name of the show :OP, so moving on I shall tell you about today! I think I ate too many crisps yesterday and my digestive system was none too pleased this morning, however, I feel much better now. Hopefully this will continue because tomorrow its back to work at the library and stomach pain can be very distracting there.

I also decided to take the bus to the Info Booth at Avalon today, which didn't take all that long, despite the detour the bus takes through a suburb, the only problem I had was when I went to buy some curtain weights - I discovered a fabric shop in Avalon that I didn't know existed and realised...I'd left my wallet at home, do'h! This came back to bite me when I had to go out again after getting home to withdraw my rent from the bank, the IGA has an ATM out the front, but it's one of those non-branded ones that charges eveeryone two bucks to use it, which I ain't doing, so I had to drive down the the 7-11, which I parked down the street from only to discover there's parking spaces in there for people who aren't filling up with petrol. Do'h fail!

But, I paid the rent and did my laundry so that's done for this week, wipes brow, happily, although I have a terrible feeling I might have left some socks unwashed...whoops.

Anyway! It's Friday - which is Meme time sooo

Let's Do This Thang )

Right! I've pretty much caught up on the Friday5s at least until tomorrow comes, and now, I can head to bed!

So I bid you all goodnight!
