11:40pm: Yes indeed! This evening was Mrs S's Christmas Party - or rather get together, since there was only her, me and the other carer there, but I did wear my Santa hat (not the springy one though LOL) and Mrs S wore this antler headband she got the other week.

Anyway! We had it at the same restaurant in the RSL as last year, I did consider the idea of having lasagna (with chips and salad) rather than the special parmagana thing, but seeing as I make my own lasagna - and it's pretty dam tasty if I do say so myself - I decided to go with the parmagana after all, most yummy!

Before that I was at M and Grandpa's, although there was some weirdness there, I called M earlier this week to confirm we'd be coming over to see her and play Canasta at one pm. However, M's memory isn't want it used to be and she didn't write it down in her diary by today she'd forgotten about it! So when I turned up after volunteering at the library no-one was home!

I called M's mobile and then Grandpa's put no answer, so finally I called Mum since she's usually up to date on M and Grandpa's movements and it turned out they were all together, looking at one of the other retirement villages, M is having trouble moving about lately, so they might need one of those serviced places and the they were going to have lunch there.

This was bad news for me because not only was I hungry - it was lunchtime! I really needed to go to the bathroom, and I couldn't get the key box to open and I'd also forgotten they have a few public facilities on site so I ended up leaving.

I went just down the road to the shops there, where I got some chips, but there were no toilets there either, do'h! So I ended up in Dee Why.

It was bloody hot today, so I considered going home, but M still wasn't answering her mobile, so I called Grandpa, who was still with Mum who answered and said M was looking forward to seeing me, so off I went, which was great because we got to play Canasta although we didn't finish our game, so I'll have to go back. :OD

Anywho, I better wrap this up because work's on tomorrow and it's nearly midnight!

11:11pm: Not the weather, no but my new heater! I did not know this but there's a big hardware shop in Mona Vale near where I work! Can't believe I never knew about it. Anyway, after no luck this morning at the Dee Why hardware shop before my library volunteering I headed over there to behold...oil heaters! Yay!

So far it's doing quite a good job, I just have to work out the timer, it has one but it's just a knob with some numbers on it, LOL.

What else to report? Well, despite not having updated in three days I don't have much to report, I've been obsessing on the fan fic and it's timeline, LOL. Sometimes it doesn't bother me, then sometimes it does, I blame my obsession for timelines on Back to the Future, they're very important there. But! I've decided to set that aside and actually write the thing because there's interest in it.

There has been a bit of bruhaha regarding work though, Mrs S's husband has had to have surgery! He's OK, but it was quite unexpected so I thought maybe I'd have to go over to her place at night to help her into bed - since he usually does that - but she seems to have figured out how to get into bed herself. At least I hope so, I don't think the wheelchair would be comfortable to sleep in.

Anyway, I better head off and get my much necessary zzzzs.

11:37pm: I don't have much to say about today, the usual stuff happened, volunteering at the library, getting up late, LOL. I did have to go see Mrs S for a little bit, but that was really the only change in the typical routine of the day.

But OMG I almost forgot to mention the most important thing! I got a phone call from Manly Library today, they want me to come in for an interview next Wednesday! They asked if I wanted to do it 2pm but I've asked for 4:30pm instead since I'm supposed to help Mum out with Scripture Class, even though yesterday she wasn't able to do it because she got called in for substitute teaching at the high school in Mosman. Instead she got Dad to fill in for her, I'm surprised she managed to convince him, since Dad has been less than enthused about it, I went early to help him with both classes although he didn't really need me that much. Interestingly enough Year Two class seemed easier to handle, I guess they were all intrigued by the guitar,they all enjoy singing in that class. The aim was to teach them the Hail Mary, which I think Dad did, so with any luck they'll remember next week.

But yes, an interview for a library assistant job! Hooray! It's been a while though so I better work on my interview skills which I feel let me down a lot. With any luck Mum might be able to drive me to Manly afterwards so I can at least know if my hair is nice.

Anywho, time is swiftly moving and I need to get my zzz's! That being the case I'm gonna short entry this sucker and head for bed!

10:46pm: Not sure if I mentioned this but I borrowed a DVD series from the library the other week called The 72 Cutest Animals and of course it's full of cuteness! They've just shown the Elephant Seal, the adults aren't that cute, but the little calfs sure are! Man, I love seals and how they have to wriggle along, LMAO, boing, boing, boing! And so on :OP Looove it.

Anyway moving along, it's been a busy day! First there was work at Mona Vale Library this morning, it started off rather quiet, but ended up being quite busy and then afterwards volunteering at Dee Why Library. I arrived rather later than usual for the latter because I forgot my phone this morning so had to go via the Granny Flat to get it and I also had to pick up my newly altered pinstripe pants! :O) They're looking good although I have tried them on yet.

Speaking of pants though, I did buy a black pair with wider legs at Warriewood yesterday, I got them from Suzanne Grae which is kind of an old lady clothes shop, but it has the benefit of short length pants, which means they actually fit me without needing to be taken up! Praise the Lord! They look very nice, except they do seem to be slightly tight? But I think they'll expand a bit, I hope so! But it's not like I could have got the next size up because then they'd be too big. Seriously, what's up with pants and me? Pisses me off.

Eeee! Break in proceedings to say the panda has just shown up on the DVD and eeee they're so CUTE!!! They look like soccerballs! It cracks me up.

What else to report? Well, my throat seems to be a bit dry today...weird, I hope I'm not getting a cold (knock on wood), maybe I should gargle or something?

Oh! And I almost forgot, dinner with the co-worker last night went really well! On Mrs S's advice I made cupcakes, but I think I mucked up the recipe a little because they didn't come out as nice as they usually do. In fact the first batch was kind of a write-off to be honest. Oh well, at least I got the frosting right this time around!

My co-worker baked chicken and added some Hoysien sauce (I think), which was Chinese inspired, but there was also mashed potato and sliced potato with a Peruvian sauce on it. Which I've tried before at Mrs S's place, it's quite nice! And the second batch of cupcakes turned out OK, so there was that as well. Her boyfriend who lives in the sharehouse too joined us, so that was interesting!

So yeah good time being social, go me.

Anyway, I better wrap this up and head off, I've got to go to bed and do my Russian!

But! I can inform you the panda got to be number 1 in the list, as it should be, LOL.

11:17pm: Yeees, George III's birthday was a couple of days ago 4th June! Happy Birthday to the Monarch who's collection became the nexus of the British Library.

In other news, this is a creepy as Hell episode of Cold Case...I mean they usually are, but this one has a sick pedophile, so yeah, gross. There's a lot of sickos out there.

Not much else to report, although I did get my volunteering done at Dee Why Library as well as my paid shift at Mona Vale. Although, I'm not really looking forward to that bullshit training thing I have to go to on Thursday, I spoke to a colleague who went to the session that was on this morning and it sounds like the biggest wank. The only upside is I'll be paid for my time, but still...there's other stuff I could be doing, like writing my fic! I've slowed down in writing it, I don't want to lose the mojo...I'm think I should bring a notebook to that stupid training thing and write in it like I used to do at school. Hah that'll take me back.

Anyway, it's getting late and I need to wrap this up so I can get to sleep ASAP once Cold Case finishes, which is soon! Although this entry is seriously lacking, sorry about that - although I sure feel like I'm saying that a lot :OP I should get an interesting hobby!

11:37pm: In Equador? I'm watching House Hunters International and apparently in Equador (and other places I suppose?) they don't have regular hot water, they just put heating wires around the actual shower head. Like WTF? I don't even understand how that would work without electrocuting you first time. Seems it must though. Crazy all the same if you ask me.

Anyway, not much to report I got to work at Mona Vale today early...real early as it turns out as I wasn't on today! WTF? How embarrassing! I felt pretty silly, especially since I bought a sausage roll for break time before going in. There wasn't any mini-sausage rolls there, but the owner kindly let me have a normal sized one for the same price!

So, once I discovered that I wasn't on at Mona Vale, I realised that meant I needed to do my volunteering! So it was off to Dee Why Library for that. On the plus side, at least that meant I could return the stuff I borrowed there personally because I'm still not sure if returning them at Mona Vale means they'll get checked in that same day. Because Dee Why Library doesn't let staff avoid overdue fees, which is pretty rude when I think about it...

Anyway, the volunteering went OK, although I don't feel like I got as many selections done as I should have, oh well. Once I finished I popped by the parentals on the way home to try looking for my sunglasses, but no luck. While there though Mum gave me some concerning news about my apartment, the agent had actually called me while I was driving to the library to ask for Mum's number so she could tell here something and I found out what it was.

They hadn't actually got the DA entirely approved by council when they were selling the apartments! So instead of a 15 storey tall building, they can only do a 7 storey one! Which means a whole lot of apartments will no longer exist! There's no word on whether mine will be one of these, but seriously what the fuck? I guess that news article wasn't wrong! Buying off the plan is risky. Now if the apartment does disappear we can get our money back, but I'm most irritated because the deposit we paid could have been in our bank accounts gaining interest. Instead the building company gets it! I've heard about that bullshit before, not cool not cool at all.

So, now I have to wait and see what happens.

On the upside I found my sunnies! I turned out I'd left them in the shopping bag with my new swimsuit - so it was here in my room this whole time! How embarrassing - again! I actually thought about that this morning but I'd forgotten where the bag was...so that was another worry until I found it again. But yes everything is back in hand.

Anyway, it's coming up on midnight so I better haul butt, good news, though, Plushy's grand opening of his skating school went super well and there was cake and everything! Yum! Except now I want cake ;O)

11:42pm: So in the daylight this morning the car didn't look nearly as bad as I feared, although the scratches are still most unfortunate. My poor poor car. I did actually try to use my auto paint to cover them, but I dunno how well that'll work, however, I'm in no position to spend any money fixing it, especially with the letter I got today.

Yes, when I got home from Mrs S's and the Warriewood Square and saw the envelope in the mailbox my spirits lifted! Until I picked it up and felt how light it was and then saaw it was from the Office of State Revenue.

They didn't overturn my speeding ticket! What a bag of dicks, I have sped one other time during my whole driving life (and there were no cops or cameras around soo they don't know that), it was 7 minutes before the school zone time ended and the fact that $180 is a financial burden on me (more than a shift's worth) fell on deaf ears. What a fuck-up.

Obviously, I'll have to pay it since I'm certainly not going to court to argue about it - it'd cost me even more money and time.

So yes,not the best of luck there.

However! Because my place wasn't very tidy and Mum had to go shopping for some stuff, as well as it being unseasonably warm today instead of coming over to the Granny Flat, we went to Warriewood Square where I finally found a pair of shorts suitable for work (it only took going to just about every clothing shop in the place!) and got my medication - which I hadn't been able to purchase before because my low-income card has expired so now I have to pay the full subsidised price, which is $26.

Note to self I owe Mum $150 all up now...but hey! The shorts were only $12, nice.

Right, better wrap this up and hit the hay, I've got a library shift and volunteering tomorrow so I need my zzzs!

PS Oh I almost forgot, I had the weirdest dream last night - I was on a cruise ship with my two brothers, my parents and another person I didn't know. Although shit got rather weird when Dad seemed to be drunk or something yelling at people and my brothers, the mystery person and I couldn't find our muster point during the drill.

Right, it's getting quite late and I stayed up waaaaay too late last night, which was a really pisspoor idea because the niggling sore throat I had yesterday has become quite a bit worse and a runny nose was thrown into the bargain today. In fact it was bad enough that when I went to do my volunteering the co-ordinator decided I should head home early - I didn't even end up staying an hour! But I've done more than two-hours volunteering the last few times, so I didn't protest too much. :OP

Right, I need to head off, work calls tomorrow and I need to do a lot of washing too!

11:11pm: Yes! I didn't expect it, especially after checking the tracker page this morning and seeing that it was still 'Order Received' and even more so when I got home from volunteering and saw no box - and the landlord's wife didn't come out like she usually does when something arrives for me. So imagine my surprise when I refreshed the tracker page wondering if maybe it'd come tomorrow before it's time to leave for Canberra and seeing that it's listed as delivered!

So I went to the main house and saw through the screen door that yes! The box was there! So I rang the doorbell and the landlady answered and handed it over. Woohoo! I've been setting it up on and off since then. It's really very sleek looking and super fast compared to my old phone! This is really very exciting! And now I get to play around with it on the drive to Canberra.

Speaking of which, I have to keep this entry short because I need to wake up early tomorrow and before going to bed I have to finish packing! I don't want to forget anything.

I will just say there's a cool feature that allowed me to have most of my phone settings installed (like the wallpaper and my contact list) when I started up my new phone. Niiice.

In closing, the Canadian girl did show up to inspect the apartment and Burg seemed to like her so perhaps I won't have to move after all. But she won't be able to give an answer until Thursday, so fingers crossed.

I would also like to say, da-yamn it's hot...maybe I do need to invest in a fan....

11:55pm: Indeed! With Mrs S and the two other carers, it was good times indeed! There was a special on for dinner $15 chicken pamjana with chips and salads, delicious! Although very large portions, I had no room for dessert, which I guess is a good thing since it would have cost me more and I do need to save.

Speaking of which, I was feeling guilty today because shortly after noon I got a call from Mona Vale Library asking if I wanted to come in for a shift this afternoon. However, I'd all ready promised to go in for my volunteering and it would have been too late to reschedule that (although having written t hat I probably could have moved it to tomorrow) plus if I did I would have had to hurry from work to the RSL Club for the Christmas Party and that sort of thing tends to set off my anxiety, which I totally didn't want.

So yes, suffice to say I said I couldn't and then I've felt guilty about it since, I did consider after about half an hour calling back saying I'd changed my mind, but no. What made me feel guilty more than anything was I've been praised before for my flexibilty and willingness to pick up extra shifts. On the other hand you can't just be a doormat for your work and I'm sure this won't impact on my job or anything.

So, rest easy mind!

Also I've managed to dillydallying on this entry so now I have to wrap it up and hit the hay! I've got work tomorrow and I really really need to go to the gym because I haven't gone this week and that's not cool. Especially seeing as it's a waste of my all ready tight finances if I don't actually go!

Oh and sadly I discovered this morning that like an idiot I'd left putting together my Christmas Hamper for the Church's Christmas Appeal! And now it was too late! But I was reassured to hear that the fellow I picked will still get a hamper as they got a surplus of donations. Thank goodness, how crap would I have felt otherwise! Although now I have a CD of 70 hits from the 70s. Hmmm, wonder if I should regift, return it or keep it for myself, LOL. Oh well, at least I got something for the K-Mart Wishing Tree, which I need to drop off tomorrow.
