11:16pm: It's 11:16 and I need to get my person to bed! Not that I have anything super exciting to report today - thinks for a bit... Yeah I got nothing.

The weather has turned towards Spring, it's supposed to be in the mid-20s and beyond this weekend, which is kind of a worry because I'm pretty sure it's still winter-time, technically. Although I did hear that a cold front might come in mid-next week, so who knows what the climate is doing?

There was some good news today actually! A few days ago a baby humpback whale got stuck in some fishing line, but mid afternoon today the marine rescue people managed to free him from the line and direct him back out of the harbour to the open ocean to continue on his migration. I wonder why he was in the harbour in the first place, maybe taking a break from swimming? Who knows, but I'm glad he made it. The last few times whales have been on the news the outlook has not been so good.

So yeah, happy animal news always brightens the day :O)

But as mentioned it's late and I have to head to work tomorrow, so I better Meme and run!

These questions were written by Dreamwidth user goddess47, who adds: "if you're not in the US, change the dates to your country's last election."

1. If you are old enough, are you registered to vote? I am indeed! I don't remember actually registering, but I must have because my little bro didn't register himself so missed out on voting in some election. By not registering though he didn't get a letter warning that he was going to be fined since voting is compulsory in Aussieland.

2. Did you vote in the November 2023 election 2022 Election? I forget what actual day it was, but yes since as above it's compulsory, although I'd like to think that I would vote even if it wasn't, because that's how you get your voice heard.

3. Do you vote in primaries? Don't have those here, the party decides who will be their leader, which is why, particularly in past years there's been different Prime Ministers here without a vote.

4. Do you plan to vote in the November September 2024 election? This is actually a Council Election, but it's still compulsory, it's also caused more bruhahah than usual because the Liberal Party (note: not actual liberal, they're conservatives in Aus) actually forgot to enroll their 140 of their candidates in various council electorates. So yeah...talk about an own goal there. Although party alignment doesn't matter as much in Council Elections, still are their faces red!

5. Do you vote early, by mail, in person, or some other way? I tend to vote early in person, because they often have a polling booth in the Community space above the library, so I figure what the Hell. However, you can't vote early in Council elections, so I'm gonna need to do that on the day. Which fortunately is a Saturday in Aus because of the whole compulsory ting.

Right better run.

Goodnight!

11:36pm: I'm watching an expose on Channel 7 (one of our free-to-air channels) about the toxic workplace culture there, it's pretty bad. But what's seriously weird is that at least three people went to tender their resignations but they weren't accepted. How does that work? Like how can a company not accept your resignation? I would hope you're not a slave at this place? How can they not let you resign? I wonder what happens if you don't show up? Does that mean you can't get unemployment or something? It raises many questions...

In other news, I've left this entry waaaay too late, I've been going to bed after midnight this week and yeah I shouldn't be doing that. Although it's not like I have much to report, just a typical day at work. Although the boxes keep on coming! As do the Inter Library Loans, so busy busy.

So why update, well I want to keep in the habit! Although it doesn't make for too much interest, sorry about that.

Hopefully, I'll have a better entry tomorrow.

10:40pm: For example, I was totally sure that I have the physio appointment this morning, which was weird because my Google Mini didn't mention it when I woke up. Before setting off this morning I picked up my phone to check the address (my physio has more than one office) and FINALLY noticed that even though it was showing on my calendar app, it wasn't actually happening until the 23rd, next week!

Whoops! Fortunately, I wasn't any later for work than usual, but that was a bit embarrassing...

Anyway, not much to report, work went well, although I did discover that somehow I sent an ILL book to the wrong patron! So I've had to order another copy, because said wrong patron is a Home Library Service patron and they have reaaaally long loan periods, so apparently I wouldn't get the book back until 28th August at the earliest. Yeah, way too long.

I have no idea how I managed that either...but suffice to say I feel pretty silly. It is possible the book hasn't actually been sent to the Home Library patron, but I haven't got a reply back from the Home Library Service person yet.

I posted my second McFly July prompt, I was actually thinking of writing on it during lunch, but I need to find some new boots and possibly a pair of white sneakers while the sales are still on, so I did that instead. No luck, I'm afraid, the problem is I wear orthodics, so I need to get a larger size than I'd wear otherwise, but that does mean the shoe can sometimes be too loose in the back, but too tight in the front. I guess I could go to the shoe shop that specialises in orthodic type shoes, although I'm not sure they're having a sale.

Right, so it's coming up to 11pm and I've been trying to get to bed at a more decent hour, so I'll do a quick meme and hit the hay.

These questions were written by Dreamwidth user milo_r.

1. Are you happy with your current line of work? What do you like/don't like about it?

Most definitely! It took me forever to get into the library field and now that I'm in it it's everything I hoped it'd be :O) I like pretty much everything about it! Except maybe filling in stuff for the yearly Performance Reviews, LOL.

2. Do you see yourself doing the same type of work in 5 years? What about 10?

You can pry this job from my cold, dead hands :OP No seriously, I don't even like to think about having to find another job, it took me so long to find this one!

3. Did you see yourself doing this type of work 5 years ago? What about 10?

Well, I started working at this job 5 years ago, so that's a yes. 10 years ago, I was volunteering at the library, but I wasn't actually succeeding at getting any positions so I went to TAFE to get my Certificate III in Aged and Disability Care. This allowed me to meet Mrs S, who even though I haven't spoken to her in a while, was a really good boss and I enjoyed my time with her... Also the three councils in my area merged into one during that time and everyone had to reapply for their jobs so I'm not sure I would have been able to take the stress!

4. Did you have a dream job as a child? What was it?

Long time readers will be well-aware of my Peter Pan Syndrome and lack of plans re: my adult life. I didn't briefly want to be a vet, but when I took a one day "Visit a Vet" type program thing, I quickly decided it wasn't for me when we were asked to dissect a goat's liver.

5. If you had to pick a radically different job from what you have now, regardless of whether you'd realistically be able to do it given your skillset, what would you pick and why?

Oh geeze, I dunno if I want to go there and it has to be radically different? I honestly can't think of anything I'd want to do. Maybe work at a museum? Which isn't radically different, but it's the closest I can think of and I do enjoy history so...

Oh and I almost forgot, I'm happy to say my stomachache was gone today! Although, I unwisely drank a bit too much water just before going to the gym so I had to cut my work out shorter than usually because I felt kinda ick. I feel good now though, so here's hoping that continues!

For now, goodnight!

10:20pm: Earlier today...but do you think I can remember what is was now? LOL fail.

Oh wait, maybe it was about the GINORMOUS order file I had to upload into our Library Management System? Basically, the library doesn't order any items in May and June because of the end of financial year. I'm not sure if this is what other council's do, but probably. So yeah, for about two months no orders have been made, but finally the selectors got the go ahead so put their lists through.

Which lead to over one thousand titles being ordered! The Library Management System can't take that many in one upload, so I had to split the file. I didn't actually know how many items were on the list - because I'm not gonna count it manually, but I split the file into 100s (which is pretty much the limit of the LMS) and ended up with 11, so yeah more than a thousand.

What was weird though, was previously when we a large order file, it would time out when we tried to upload it, thus alerting us. This time though, no warning at all! I didn't even know it was an issue until one of the selectors messaged me wondering why some of the books she was putting holds on for patrons weren't showing up. Good thing she did, because it would have been a huge pain in the ass to figure it out from emails or whatever.

I'm happy to report that I've arranged to see Inside Out 2 with my friends, not this weekend, but next - this weekend I'm going down to Wollongong on Sunday with the parental units and will catch a train back (more train-ing) Monday morning to get to work in the afternoon. Which is also the day of my Yearly review thing, which I think I've got done, mostly. Fingers crossed it won't suck, those things are always a pain in the ass, basically it's checking to see if you're doing your job...the answer to which is...yes I am, except when I've got to screw around typing into the system about how I'm doing my job. LOL.

I'm hoping I can get some writing done this weekend, we'll be 2 weeks into July and I've done a grand total of zero fics for McFly July! Tsk! The fics don't need to be super long or anything and I think I've got a few ideas for the prompts, so bring it on.

It's past 10:30pm now, so I better get a move on, I want to do some stuff tomorrow morning so I don't want to oversleep.

Before that though...

The Friday Five

12/7/24

1. Are you good at fixing things? Hmmm...not sure to be honest, probably not, although I AM going to try and darn my favourite jumper, so I guess we'll see!

2. What kinds of things can you fix?

See above.

3. Is there anyone in your family who is good at fixing things?

Grandpa is, although at 93 he doesn't fix as much stuff as he used to, although he did fix the toilet lid at my parent's house a few months back and last year he was fixing the compost thing at his unit in the retirement village, not sure if he did end up fixing it, but he probably did.

4. Has anyone ever taught you how to fix things?

Nah, or if they offered I didn't take up the offer, probably a poor idea in retrospect.

5. What was the last thing that broke in your home?

The soap dish in my shower, it just fell off the pipe! I tried to put it back on, even waiting for the shower to cool down because I thought maybe that's why it wasn't going back on. But nope, when I tried again the thing broke! This spurred me to finally buy a new shower holder thingy though, it looks quite nice, although that does mean I needed to take off the shower holder that has a dolphin shape in it. That was kind of broken too though, so...

Although I'm reminded of one last thing, because of the headache yesterday, I went to bed on time for once and would you believe it? I missed an interview with Phil Ligget (aka "The Voice of Cycling"). Boo-urns what are the chances?

Mum recorded it though, so hopefully I'll get a chance to see it.

But for now, I'm off!

6:44pm: Sadly yes, I took some ibuprofen for it a couple of hours back but it's only taken the edge off slightly, grumble grumble, how annoying. I don't think I got enough zzzs last night, tsks at self.

Goes to check my app, well, it was under 7 hours by a tad and even though it gave me a sleep score of 80, I think that probably is not quite enough, better make sure I go to bed on time tonight!

But crap, I've just noticed something...my period is due smack bang in the middle of the trip Mum, her friend and I are taking to Fiji. Oh shit. I forgot that we're going a week later than originally... well that sucks ass... On the other hand I'm not sure since my period isn't as much like clock-work as it used to be, so maybe I'll luck out, or alternatively get really screwed and have it the whole time I'm away.

In other news, I want to get Inside Out 2, but I feel like time is running short, I could try going this Saturday, but it's rather short notice, guess it can't hurt to ask though.

So yeah, headache, very annoying, it's hard to write stuff when your head hurts, shakes head at self, but you can only do your best I guess!

Not much else to report, although the yearly assessment thing (which I'm totally blanking on the official name of) is next Monday afternoon, gulp! I'm mostly prepared, but kind of not, I totally forgot to do a few things and now it's a bit late. It also includes a self-assessment thing which is always a pain in the butt because like as if you're either going to big note yourself or sell yourself short.

Man, I keep almost nodding off, on the plus side the headache seems to be going away, so hooray!

Before I go though...

These questions were written by juke128 on LJ.

1. What's the happiest thing to ever happen to you? Like ever? Wow, that's a tough one...I guess the big family trip around the world in 1993, because that was pretty epic and so many memories :O)

2. What's the saddest thing to ever happen to you? Hmm, well, I'm quite sad about M dying last year, but she was old, not well and ready to go so I'll say moving away from Dubbo as a kid. I was totally crushed by it and it definitely affected me for a while.

3. What's the thing that got you the most angry in your life? Ponders...well I remember being seriously pissed off by some of our State Government's decisions during COVID, there was some dumbass decisions made during that time, let me tell you.

4. What's the most frightening thing to ever happen to you? When I was like 8 years old I was riding my bike to school when my shoelaces untied and got stuck in my bike chain, which resulted in me and my bike falling to the street. While I was stuck down there trying to free my shoelace, I swear a bus came this close to running me over. Somewhat embarrassingly, I didn't learn my lesson or at least my shoes didn't because a few weeks later the same thing happened, fortunately no bus this time around!

5. What's the most unbelievable thing to happen to you in your life? Ponders...I have no idea. I guess getting to go on a world trip was pretty unbelievable, I mean who gets to that? :OD

OK, it's Taskmaster Australia time!

7:26pm: Yes, I went back to the gym this evening although I only did the recumbent bike and my stretches, just to ease back into it :OP I'm feeling much better though, hooray! Although my nose is still snifflely, I think that might just be from the cold weather. I tell you, it's chillier than normal this year. I'm watching the news right now - the weather is on - and apparently it was warmer than usual today, but then I didn't go out during lunch because it's school holidays at the moment and that always makes the Mall a bit of a madhouse. I'm also trying to finish the Terry Pratchett book I've been reading, I was going quite well, but unfortunately, I forgot to bring the book home last Monday, and then I didn't go to work for the rest of the week... then I forgot it again yesterday! But I have it now and I'm getting to the end so I should get to reading that.

I do need to hang up my masks though, I just washed them - yeah I still wear masks, I've kind of got used to it, and despite having just had a cold I think it's been helpful in reducing general illness. Knock on wood I think this is the first cold I've had this year? But yeah fingers and toes crossed I haven't jinxed it :OP

Apart from this not much else to report - a familiar lament of mine, however, I must make sure to contact my friends to see if anyone wants to go see Inside Out 2 - did I mention this before? LOL I can't remember and I'm too lazy to go look now. I'm not sure what to do if no-one wants to come, I guess I could ask Mum? Although that's kind of lame, LOL. One of her friends - the one I went up to Cairns with did offer to come, but I dunno.

Hmmm...did I have something else to say? Nah, I should probably try and do some McFly July fics, since the more time I wait the more I have to catch up on! Although I do want to play Cities Skylines, I restarted my Hill Valley, for no particular reason, except maybe to make it look a bit better, the one I was working on before now has sprawled out and has rather tall buildings and just generally not looking quite right.

I'm also making quite a lot of progress with my Pusheen ice skating cross stitch, I'm still trying to decide if I should cross stitch in the snow, I suppose I should, but it kinda seems like a waste because it's not like you can see the white thread unless you're looking really closely. But...we shall see!

I suppose I should stop writing about this stuff and start doing it, LOL.

Before that - catching up on the...

1. What are three things you refuse to live without?

1. Cheese (I tried to give it up once...nothing doin'!)
2. Reading
3. Hmm, my first thought was the internet, but I dunno...was life that bad without it? :OP Instead I'll say writing!

2. What are your three favorite items of clothing?

1. My emerald green coat - the lining which is polka dot fabric is fraying alas - but I still love wearing it :O)
2. My Pusheen yellow jumper (sweater), it has a sort of...embossed image of Pusheen baking on it, it's super cute!
3. This nice flower print dress I have, hmm maybe I should take that along to Fiji along with my white dress.

3. What are your three favorite books?

Ooo tough one this...the first three that come to mind:

The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 3/4 by Sue Townsend (I have to pick a specific one from the series)
The Hating Game by Sally Thorne (Yeah, it's a romance, wanna fight about it :OP)
The Mysterious Affair at Styles by Agatha Christie

4. What are three things you'd grab if you had to evacuate your house quickly?

My glasses (I need them to see!)
My laptop
Whatever Pusheen merch I could get my hands on (alas I no longer have a pet fish, so I don't have to worry about that)

5. What are your three favorite songs or musical works?

Grease
the movie
Summer Sunshine by the Corrs
Wuthering Heights by Kate Bush

Oh yeah, I just remembered what I was going to write about, I had to go on the desk for three hours today! Fortunately, not in a row, as a Collections Assistant this is quite unusual, although I was away all last week and a lot of fellow staff are on leave. I did survive though! Partly because a colleague offered to switch a shift so I didn't have to stand for two hours straight. Also the person who does the roster was kind enough to take me off the shift I had tomorrow, which is also Inter Library Loan day, so huzzah!

2:10pm: Yeah, I decided to just go with the half day today and take another half day next Monday, which proved to be a very good idea indeed, because I have feeling pretty tired after only 3.5 hours at work! Geeze...it's been a week since I got the cold and I don't recall ever having a lag like this before. I don't think I had this with COVID either, but I can't really remember.

But yeah I hope this isn't some new 40 year old thing where it the recovery from illness just drags, because that would suck ass.

Just goes and checks phone for my sleep amount, hmm only 7 hours which I don't think is quite enough for me and now I'm wondering if I should take a nap or something.

I'm also wondering if I should take my gym bag along tomorrow - I mean it's not super heavy or anything, but I'd rather not lug it in if I'm not going to use it. Dang, I should have checked to see if my work colleague who I usually get a ride with home is out on Thursday (if she's on the weekend shift this Saturday she will be) and I can't check that from home. Boo hiss.

Another good thing about the half day was that I got to take my laptop to the computer shop down the road to sort out the screw situation. It cost $45 but the back of my laptop is now secured, apparently all the screws were loose! Yikes, I should probably keep an eye on them in future, I mean I'd get quite the shock if the bottom just fell out one day. Although maybe I should have let that happened, because there's some tiny bit of plastic inside the case, you can hear it when I move my laptop around. The guy at the shop though, assured me it's unlikely to cause an issue in there. So fingers crossed on that front.

So yeah, I'm now safely ensconced at home watching the replay of the highlights from the last two days of Le Tour De France since I'm asleep by the time it finishes. I did see some of yesterday's stage though and apparently, if the slope of a climb is too steep or you can't make it (because the road's gravel like yesterday and you get caught behind someone) you can in fact get off your bike and push it up without getting disqualified! That's pretty funny. Although obviously not if you're one of the guys who has to do that.

Hmmm...not much else to report although Cities Skylines crashed on me last night after I'd done some fiddly stuff with replacing buildings so that rather sucked. Hopefully it's not one of the things I downloaded, I hate trying to figure out what might be causing the problem. I'll have to give it another go today/night I guess.

On that note...

The Friday Five

14/6/24

1. What is the oldest object you own? Hmm...well my parent's still have the first toy doll's crib I had when I was a kid, although it's not exactly mine. Um, probably some old second hand book, I once bought a lot of airplane books at an auction and I think one of them I kept is like from the 60s or something. I do have a pair of green boots from my grandmother that are probably that old too, LOL.

2. What object have you owned the longest?

My Garfield books! I started collecting those in the mid-90s, one of my first obsessions!

3. What is the newest object you own?

I think it would be my mobile phone, which I bought at the start of this year, although I think the phone itself was already a year old when I got it (it was new though, still in the box and everything) but that meant it was cheap. :O) It does alas have a tiny crack at the bottom right of the screen fortunately it's all but unnoticeable, but every so often I see it and go 'do'h'!

4. Who is your oldest living relative?

That would be Grandpa 93 years young, still plays golf twice a week. Seems in general good health except for skin cancers (he was in the Navy so exposed to a lot of sun).

5. Who is your youngest living relative?

Unless one of my cousin's has had a baby lately, I think it would be my nephew Rowan, although, thinking on it, it could be another first cousin once removed, I'm not entirely sure when they were born. Rowan though was a COVID baby - born 2021.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, despite the sleepiness it was good to be back at work, I may have talked a bit too much though LOL. But hey apart from the parentals and people in church (from a distance) this is the first time I've seen other people in almost a week!

8:31pm: I was looking at the bottom of my laptop today, trying to figure out what exactly why the hinge was going weird and I realised what the problem was. Several screws are missing! I have no idea how that happened! Do screws unscrew themselves? I'm vaguely remembering unscrewing the laptop, but I'm thinking that might be an incorrect memory because why the Heck would I do that?

On the plus side this seems to be something I could fix myself, except I don't have any of the same screws, I was thinking I could go to Bunnings tomorrow to find some, but I feel like computer screws would not be available in a hardware shop. Plus, I wouldn't want to do the wrong thing and end up stripping the screws or mucking up the holes, so I guess I'll have to go to the computer shop across the road after all.

The thing is, I'm not sure I'll have tomorrow afternoon off work after all, my parents are going down to Wollongong next Sunday and have invited me to go along with the idea I'll take the train home the next day. After the success with flying to and from Cairns (the latter by myself) and other train-ing this would probably be a good idea. Buuut having had most of last week off sick, so I'm wondering if instead of doing my half day tomorrow I do it next Monday so I can come into work in the afternoon when I get back from the Gong. Hmmm... On the other hand I'm not lacking in leave either soooo...

I guess I'll ask my boss about it tomorrow.

I am slightly concerned that my nose still seems to be stuffed up and I did wake up a few times last night coughing. I do feel OK now so I think I should be good to go tomorrow (fingers crossed!). I'm wondering if I should take a COVID test, although I did take one on Thursday morning before heading to the doctor's and it was negative... on the other hand when I did get COVID last year the first test I took was negative and only when I needed to go to the doctor's a few days later did I have to take another test which proved positive.

However, I think all my COVID tests are actually out of date...so I'm not sure if taking one is of much use.

In other news, I went to the parentals for lunch today, bringing along the roast chicken - Mum had made the veggies and there were only two cupcakes left over which we had for desert, along with berries and dollop cream. I'm not a fan of berries, but any chance to partake in dollop cream :OD

Then I came home I did my laundry, which is now hanging up to dry in the winter garden.

With a lack of anything to report on, I'll do some more Friday Five Memes, because even though it ain't Friday there's a whole backlog of 'em!

Friday Five

21/6/24

1) What's an area where you're not perfect, but trying your best?

Uh...all of them :OP In all honesty? Having a tidy apartment, I'm like the Queen of Turning a Blind Eye when it comes to mess, like I swear I can just block the untidiness like a champ. I notice when I come home from work, but once sit down and start doing stuff on the laptop it just fades into the distance. Of course, this means it gets reaaaally bad and if I want to invite anyone over it's a mad dash to clean it up. But! I've been endeavouring to get on top of it. I'm supposed to have my Aunt and Uncle visit and play some boardgames, this has been planned for like three years now...still hasn't happened though.

2) Who are you proud of?

Hmm...I dunno, haven't really thought about it! My family members I guess? For being cool.

3) What makes you feel appreciated?

When (almost) all my cupcakes are eaten! Admittedly I like to have some left over so I can eat them, but when there's only 2 left out of 22, well I must have done a good job!

4) What would you like to make more time for?

Friends! Thing is, I do actually have time I'm just lazy as Hell and thus haven't seen them for ages - one of them for nearly 6 months! Yikes... Gotta work on that.

5) What can you re-arrange?

Uh...my wardrobe and cupboards? I feel like this is a question that asks for a deeper meaning, but eh...

Righto, I'm off to play Cities Skylines, my current obsession, I'm making a Hill Valley, but I've downloaded a heap of things since I first started playing the game a few months back and thus am half tempted to restart my city, but maybe not... Heh, maybe that's something I can rearrange :OP

9:45pm: So I always forget that when I have a cold I feel shitty in the mornings, so I'm super glad I have those Doctor's Certificates! No way would I have wanted to go to work this morning. I'm also taking tomorrow off as well to make sure I'm good to go for Monday, which will be a half day, so I'll be easing back into it.

Making sure my hands were clean I made the cupcakes for my parent's retirement village's get-together tomorrow. Vanilla ones, which is not my usual MO, but Mum asked if I could make them and I said I would, it went pretty well until it came to add the milk. The last few times I've made cupcakes I've made a double batch which means one cup of milk...this time I was doing my usual batch which only needs a half. You can see where this is going...

Queue the cake batter practically turning into a liquid and me going O.O, then adding a whole lot of flour to make it become solid again, before realising that might be a bad decision and looking up the internet to see what if anything I could do to rescue the situation (I didn't want to have to throw the batter out). The first suggest I saw luckily said to add extra flour, but it also recommended adding an extra egg, which made sense... I once got a recipe from M for a one egg cake, which didn't work when I tried it...I guess egg helps bind all the ingredients together, because when I baked the cake it wasn't properly solid and just fell into a puddle.

Long story short, I managed to get the batter looking right again and got to baking the first batch of six. They looked pretty good when I took them out, but I decided I better taste test one at which point I realised that cupcake was rather...flat. Also, because of the cold my sense of taste is kinda off right now, so I wasn't even 100% sure they did in fact taste OK.

I decided to call Mum at this point for advice, thankfully she had some which was while adding the flour and egg was a good idea, I needed more baking soda to help it rise. Duh. The net did say to just double the recipe and I did add extra vanilla as well, but totally blanked on the baking soda.

Unfortunately, I'd put the second batch of six in, whoops, so in the end half the batch had the appropriate amount of baking soda and the other half didn't LOL.

After all 23 were ready to go I packed them up and headed over to Mum and Dad's so Mum could decorate them - she had dollop cream and wanted to butterfly them and add a little decoration on top. Unfortunately, I'd kind of forgotten what the roads can be like at 3pm on school day...took twice as long as usual to drive to my parents place, lucky for me it usually only takes ten minutes so it wasn't THAT bad.

I hung around while Mum decorated the cupcakes, they look really good! With any luck if there's any left over I'll get to enjoy some! In the end there were 22, because Mum had to test one as well which met with her approval. Wipes brow, lucky me!

In a blast from the past look what's still around on LJ...

The Friday Five

28th June 2024

1. Have you gotten everything done that you had hoped to do during the first half of 2024?

Hmm, sort of? Once again I've been failing at the keeping up with IRL friends, but I have managed to take four short flights on an airplane (having not flown for more than 20 years), and otherwise facing some of my anxiety issues, so go me.

2. Did anything exciting or unexpected happen to you during the first half of 2024?

Well, I visited Cairns u in Queensland Australia for the first time, that was pretty exciting! Considering how cold the weather has been this winter, having a short four day visit to the tropics was much appreciated :O) Plus, the flight up and down went quite well for me, so that was a relief.

3. What big plans do you have for the second half of 2024?

Well, in about three weeks I'll be heading to Fiji with Mum and her friend - this will be about a five hour flight. I'm pretty hopeful that I'll be good for it, plus more tropical weather and a place I haven't been to before, huzzah!

4. Have you taken, or are you planning, a vacation this year?

Heh, see above. Mum's a bad influence on me :OP I've already gone to Cairns this year and soon Fiji!

5. Have you ever wanted to be one of the people writing and posting these questions?

I feel like this might be a request for questions to be sent in...and maybe? Depends if I've got any inspiration, which I currently don't. I probably should send in some questions one day though...

Well, it's almost 10:30 so I should probably haul. Le Tour de France is on tonight, but alas it's the time trial and that's not nearly as fun as having a peloton to watch.

Goodnight!

10:08pm: Might as well post four minutes past 10:04 if this is a belated birthday post, LOL. Although the July 3rd date is only for the US, as I discovered some years back, BTTF was actually released on 15th August here in Australia.

I was just reminded - looking at crossover_chick's entry today that it's McFly July! Which I should take a look at, maybe write some short fic if I get inspired.

Anyway, here's the the greatest movie of all time! :OP

Regarding today, I did have to go to the doctor's because I took the day off, fortunately there's a place near where I live that still does bulk-billing so I didn't have to pay to hear I've got a cold. The doctor was nice enough to give my a Doctor's Certificate for Saturday since this is one of the weeks where I do a Saturday shift. However, I'm not sure whether to use it or not...on the one hand, I got a heap of sick time (like way more than I have annual leave), but I think I'm on the other side of the cold and might even be able to go to work tomorrow. Having said that though, the other Doctor's Certificate does include tomorrow, and if I recall it can be a bit of a hassle if you come back before the sick note says... That might just have been for this other job I had.

Then, of course, I could do a half day because if I'm working on Saturday that means I do have to take a half day so I don't do too many hours. Plus, I'm making cupcakes for my mother - the retirement village she lives at has a monthly get-together for residents. The idea is that I make them and drop them over so we can decorate them. Which obviously I won't be able to do if I'm at work all day.

Eh, probably should just take the day off, I mean I'm still sniffling and I wouldn't want to overdo it (although my immuno-comprised worker has Friday's off, I'm sure my other colleagues wouldn't appreciate being exposed either!).

In other news, the UK is voting today, which strikes me as so weird, an election on a weekday? Thinking about it though, a lot of country's probably do that too, the US being a prime example. But yeah we have it on Saturdays here in Australia, which I guess sucks for weekend workers - although there's pre-polling of course, so I guess that's when they do that, I know I did when I worked weekends. But then we also have compulsory "show-up at get your name marked off the roll", so that influences things too.

There's a lot of elections at the moment...France, UK, the US... the UK is the only one where it looks like things aren't going to go to shit. The French look like they're gonna elect a right wing Prime Minster and the less said about the US the better...

And to quote the great Forest Gump - "That's all I have to say about that."

Since I'm trying to get over a cold I better haul ass and get to bed.

Goodnight.

8:50pm: So I had another sick day today, the good news is my throat has stopped hurting (praise the Lord!), although my nose is running and/or stuffed up as Hell, it makes it hard to breathe.

In regards to my title, well I discovered that apparently if you take more than 2 days off you need a doctor's certificate, I thought you needed one after three days.

This is a bitch though because it means if I want to take tomorrow off, I need to go to the doctor, which is pretty dumb, because I know I have a cold and those generally take three days to clear up if not four. So now I'm supposed to go to a doctor's office, sit in the waiting room possibly infecting others all so I can get a note that says I have cold? Like WTF? That seems really backwards...

Now apparently you can get a certificate from a pharmacist, but obviously that's not quite the same thing as a doctor's certificate. I suppose I should clarify with my boss about that.

But yeah... I'm thinking I'll have to take a sick day tomorrow, if for not other reason then one of my work colleagues is immuno-compromised and I certainly wouldn't want to get her sick, that would be shitty of me.

I swear though, it's three days not two...but I have no way to confirm that, so I have to go with what my boss currently says. Annoying.

Also, I could have sworn I heard a few weeks back they were going to make changes to sick leave where you DIDN'T need a doctor's certificate because hey it's your sick leave and with COVID and all the idea of going to a doctor to tell you what you already know is a waste of time at best and a possible spreading event at worst. Grumble, grumble.

Also of annoyance, my ears are blocked, makes it hard to hear TV shows and my mother - I'm over at my parent's place because my Lite n Easy meals get delivered here Thursday morning, she also wanted to see the clothes I'll be taking on our Fiji trip, plus she came over to pick me up today since she borrowed my car the other day (one of my parents' cars had to go to the mechanics). This was also so we could talk to the financial advisor on the phone (my mortgage's are coming off their fixed rates so we might re-finance), this also means that my apartment got cleaned up, it was seriously due for it, so phew.

Plus we also get to watch our shows together, or maybe not...since apparently Mum watched them because they were online and the TV antenna at their place is being an ass. Hmpf, guess I should have watched them myself :OP although at least we got to watch the first 10 minutes.

Now we're watching Le Tour De France, gotta love Le Tour.

Anyway, I guess I should wrap this up because I have to blow my nose.

Damn colds.

11:01am: Wherein a simple cold makes me feel like shiiiiit. It all started yesterday with an itchy nose, which I thought was allergies, but then my throat started feeling sore and when I took a look at it it was angry red colour.

And I kept waking up during the night from the pain, which totally sucked. Now my nose is all stuffed up, my throat is still sore as is my face generally and I feel just generally malaised.

This also means I'm not at work today, which means no gym this afternoon. As I enjoy my job this rather sucks, especially because tomorrow is Library Courier Day - which is when we get books requested from other libraries in the city as inter library loans. It's my favourite day of the week LOL.

Ugh, colds suck and I'd like to submit a complaint to...someone.

So yeah...nothing else to report, I just like to use online journals to bitch about minor illnesses :OP

I think I need to suck on another lozenge, sigh.

10:01pm: Indeed! And I don't actually have anything exciting to report, but then what else is new :OP I have no idea how I kept this thing updated daily for years, I think it was all the memes, or questionnaires, I'm not sure if those things are still around.

In other news it's mid-winter here in Australia and my feet are freaking freezing! Although the rest of me isn't that cold, fortunately! I should get of my butt and put on some slippers or something!

In other other news :Op I finally went back to a gym today, the one near Dee Why Library which the council owns so it's free. Sadly it's a bit shit, for one thing the bike there is unusable, not because it's broken, but because the seat is hard as hell and sitting on it is painful! Also it's got clip in pedals, but I don't have any clip in shoes - why would you anyway? Don't people with those shoes usually have their own bike?

Ah well, I did use the stepping machine, except it told me I only burned 52 calories for 15 minutes, I call sheninigans!

Oh well, I'm planning to go tomorrow to lift some weights, I'm crossing my fingers that I don't have that Post-Exercise Soreness thing the next day - since I haven't done any working out for ages. Wish me luck!

On that note, I better be off, this week I'm doing two days at DY Library - which was I was near the gym this evening - and thus have to get some shut eye.

Hope you're all well out there in LJ/DW land!

11:04pm: Hmm, I wonder if I've ever used that subject heading before...I'm sure I must have LOL!

Anywho, when I last updated a couple of weeks back I was supposed to let you know about my interview and how it went. But then it got suuuuper busy at work and I never got around to it (story of my life these days), but I able to report I have no idea how I present myself at interviews. Because afterwards I met Mum in the Council area and was certain I'd bombed it! I was so nervous despite knowing both people very well (one of them is my current supervisor) and the feeling that I'd been talking a mile a minute and making no sense whatsoever.

As it turns out, at least for the two people who interviewed me I came off very well (which makes me scratch my head!) and last week my supervisor asked about contacting my references. Which was kind of weird because one of them is the other person in the interview! Obviously, they didn't contact that person though.

So, as it stands it looks like I might have the job - although I don't know yet, of course, which is good on one hand, but on the other...it's less hours and less money - although I'd be able to do more desks shifts around it so it might balance out. I still kinda wish I could stay in the Collections Librarian role though! We'll have to see...still no sign of any cataloguing courses I can do, grumble grumble.

However, in what could be an omen I have lost the old school librarian badge that my friend bought for me all those years ago. Which I'm very bummed about, because even if I buy another one to replace it, it won't be the same obviously. :O( I probably shouldn't have worn it to work on interview day - I took it off before I went into the interview (since it was for a Assistant position) an thought I put it safely in my wallet, but...famous last words right there. I've looked all over the apartment and inside my various bags, but no luck, so unless it fell out of wallet at church it probably is gone forever.

I also seem to have lost my purple sunglasses, which I'm also very annoyed about, I definitely had them on Tuesday...but I haven't seen them since then. I can only assume I left them on the bus? Argh, why do I suck at keeping hold of my things?

And lastly - since it's getting late and I need to do my Russian before midnight, I went ice skating today, I was meant to get there at about 11:30 because there was a special $10 session in celebration for the saving of the rink. Unfortunately, in typical Moose-style I managed to miscalculate my timings and ended up getting only 35 minutes of skating time in - which means I didn't really save much. Bah! Oh well, at least I was there to support the rink. Also I saw a lady there with rainbow blades, wow, what will they think of next?!

Right best be off now, hope you're all well out there! :O)

Oh! And I also did some more "train"ing, so I'm pleased about that...although the suburb I got off at didn't have anything interesting in it in terms of shops, plus I had my skatebag which was heavy... Perhaps I shouldn't bus it most of the way, but the traffic can be such a crapshoot...

But yes, must be off now!

10:46pm: The badge a good friend of mine gave me as a present many years ago, it has "Librarian" on it and this week I've finally been able to put it on...

Because I've been seconded to a 3 month position as a Collections Librarian! Yes, I've sadly neglected to mention it on here, but the woman who used to be my direct boss at Mona Vale Library recommended me (apparently they hadn't had much luck filling the role?) and I was accepted for the position! How awesome is that! The lady said she has great faith in me, so perhaps with luck this might turn into a more permanent role. I sure hope that can happen! It's not quite full-time, but I do get to keep 1 of my shifts at Mona Vale so it's nearly full time, which is great news for my apartment. I'll have enough to live there if that happens.

So yes, I wore the badge (and the nice new business like dress I got at Vinnies for a steal) for my first day on Monday. Although, I actually thought I was starting the Monday before last, so that was a bit awkward, however it turned out for the best because I ended up with a cold last week, so I would have had to call in sick to my first week! It ended up been pretty embarrassing actually, because before I realised I was unwell I got a shift at Mona Vale, replacing a co-worker (because I'd cancelled them in preparation for the job), but ended up having to go home sick from it. :Oo I was at least able to go in on Friday though.

So yes! I'm a Librarian now, I haven't actually had to tell anyone what to do yet, not sure if I will? Maybe when I do a desk shift? Although that in itself is weird because rather than having it at the Mall Library where I'm based I have to go to Manly Library for those. Luckily it's easy to take a bus there since parking is pretty much impossible. I'm actually taking the bus to the Mall Library because that's easier as well, which gives me time to read on the way.

However, I also thought I might have time to write on my new 2 in 1 laptop as well...so I took it with me to work, but never did actually use it. However, I stayed over at my parents place last night and I was planning to use it to watch the Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating, but when I opened it...

The screen was cracked! It still turned on and everything, but the touch screen was all sorts of messed up and I couldn't use it! D: I've barely owned that computer for a month!

I took it to the Computer Repair Place in Dee Why this morning, to see about getting it fixed. I hoped maybe the warranty would cover it, but no...and touch screens are notoriously difficult to fix.

To make a long story short...it basically costs as much as the laptop cost me to repair it! D:

I wasn't going to do it at first...but then I remembered another Computer repair place and decided to see what they had to say. They weren't entirely sure, but by that point I'd realised if I bought a new 2 in 1 it would be more expensive then getting my current one fixed, because it was on special. The only other 2 in 1s I've seen have been at least $500 or even $600, so when you factor it in...

Also when I left it at the second place the guy there thought it might be about $225 to fix...but it's gonna be about $300, which is what I paid for the laptop. But like I said, still cheaper than throwing it away and buying a whole new 2 in 1.

Annoying as Hell however! What shitty luck and I feel like a real idiot, especially since as I said I didn't even use it on the bus!

The lesson here is...I need a padded back to carry my laptop in once I get it back.

Anywho, the JGP Ladies are on now, so I must be off. This entry can best be summed up as...you win some, you lose some.

Ta ta for now!

10:57pm: Actually, she arrived yesterday...but OMG, best $57 I ever spent!

She is ADORABLE! (Press the arrows to see) And huge and cuddly! I love her!

Definitely my crowning achievement of Pusheen purchases!

Which isn't to say I'm not still purchasing stuff...because I am weak. One of my Pusheen drink bottles has been leaking and getting a bit scratched up so today after ice skating I popped into the Jay Jays at the Mall to see if I could get another one.

I ended up getting a different (and more expensive) drink bottle and...this shirt (press the arrow again). Because seriously, how could I not?! I've been totally hoping to get a Baker Pusheen apron, but they've been sold out forever, so this t-shirt was clearly calling to me.

But seriously, I better not buy anything else for some time, because I'm supposed to be saving my pennies and also it's not like I have a lot space to put things.

The last thing I'm waiting on is the cross-stitch kit, which I'm sure will be arriving, along with a large parcel my parents have sent to me. Speaking of the parental units, they're off to Iceland on Sunday (Monday Moose-time) before heading to the US. Mum's been sending us updates so they've been having a good time.

Anywho, I better wrap this up because I need to get to bed, my extra work continues so I've got to keep my sleeping hours consistent, plus I do work on Sundays and go to church in the morning.

So off I go, I just wanted you all to see my Pusheen Plush! ;OD

10:15pm: Because I got a little less than that last night and I am feeling very sleepy right now indeed. Yaaawn! This reminds me that I should probably start going to bed earlier in preparation for when Mrs S comes back, although I still don't know what days I'll have when she gets back.

One job I won't have however is the Home Library Service Officer role, I heard back from the Manager when I came in to volunteer on Friday. However! She thought I made a good case for myself and all, and suggested that I could do some casual shifts for the Home Library Service while they're a bit understaffed. Who knows...maybe the person who did get the job will decide it's not for them or find something else and I might be considered again. :OP I still haven't heard back about the Library Assistant job that they went external with, though...and there's all ready a new round of Library Assistant jobs to apply for! Phew!

Not to mention actual librarian jobs...which closed on Friday, I applied to those as well, although with my lack of experience I'm not sure what luck I'll have with that (lack of experience seems to be my achilles heel right now, except wouldn't you know it? Back when I didn't have a Masters it was a lack of qualifications! Side-eyes all this.)

So yes, lots of jobs to apply to! I sure hope I get something though...as the jobs get filled they'll be less casual shifts available for me. In fact, it's all ready kinda of happening, for the last two weeks I've only had one extra shift per week, when previously I've had three. I had to take money out of my savings this week to cover rent! I'm wondering if that might have to do with the move to a fortnightly pay system at the library, but honestly, I'm sure it's because even with the extra shifts I'm not making up those 15 hours I do for Mrs S.

Ah man, adult life is hard. :OP

In other news, the parental units are on the cruising portion of their travels, I was following their progress on Cruise Tracker (they have had wifi here and there and sent us photos :O) but it's stopped tracking, which I'm wondering might be because some years back there was the whole pirate thing (the ship my parents are on actually got fired at by Somali pirates!) so perhaps they're not updating so the pirates can't track them. Having said that though...I'm sure they use their own radars or whatever...or just sail around looking for ships. Or maybe they're not even in action anymore, I haven't heard about pirates out there in ages.

But yeah whatever the case, they're in the middle of the Indian Ocean right now, so no wifi and thus they're incommunicado. I bet they're living it up though!

Anyway, with the parentals away I have been seeing more of M and Grandpa, which is nice, in fact this week I'll be spending two nights over there because it's ANZAC Day on Wednesday and Grandpa goes in the march so he'll be out and M can't be left by herself for too long in case she falls over something (knock on wood!) Although, she's been much more steady on her feet since the operation on her toe - which was pretty much an amputation. But, the important thing is, we can play Canasta when I come over! :O)

The only thing I'm still wondering about is whether or not to go to the Annual Ice Skating Show at the Macquarie Ice Rink on Thursday. On the one hand, ice shows are fun and it'd be good to support the skaters, on the other as mentioned I'm running low on dough and I don't have anyone to go with so perhaps I should skip in this year? I dunno... Plus would I drive there or catch the bus? If I do go, should I see if I can stay over at my friend's place like I did a couple of years back? I have work the next day in the afternoon so I guess it can work. Thing is I didn't go skating this afternoon (I got some new shoes and my feet were sore) so I don't actually have a ticket, so I'd have to go over early on Thursday to get one before the line gets too big. Decisions decisions!

Also...I've realised I need to rearrange the day I'm going in for volunteering, because of the working on Friday thing (I forgot about that shift...) Plus I've got my car booked in for a service on Monday morning, phew! So busy busy week coming up!

On that note, I should wrap this up and get ready for bed. Last week I totally overslept and didn't get to church which was a shame, so I want to be up tomorrow.

Hope you're all well in internetland!

11:06pm: This photofit of a suspect they just showed on the news! I mean yikes if anyone looks like that in real life you'd pretty much know it! It'll be interesting to see, if the guy is caught - and I sure hope he is because he's a suspected rapist - if he looks anything like that photofit.

Anyway, what do I have to say since we met last update...well Mum came over today and helped me clean the Hell out of my kitchen, it looks really nice in there. I really need to figure out how to keep it like that! Famous last words of mine, I know. :OP

I had something else to report...I've lost my Aldi fitness tracker! Which I probably should have seen coming. Arrrgh why do I lose things so easily? It's enough to make a grown woman cry.

Seriously...what was I going to write? I'm distracted by the Cheeto of Doom's latest dumbass shit move the whole tariff thing. What a fuckwit, honestly. I'm reminded again why I'm often avoiding the television news this day, he's guaranteed to show up on it and I just want to punch my TV when he does. I'm honestly surprised anyone can work with that thing.

Moving on from politics, it's starting to get chilly at night and in the morning, which totally bums me out. Don't leave summer! Sniff! We barely knew ye.

I guess the big news for me is that my work situation with Mrs S has been changed, I go in later because rather than using the sliding sheet, she needs to be carried to her wheelchair, which despite my working out in the gym I'm really not good at. I mean, I can lift her but my arms certainly shake while doing so. This means I'm getting less money, which sucks. It also might lead to a permanent reduction in hours when Mrs S gets back from her trip home to Peru, which is certainly no good...

And shit that reminds me, I need to check the internal jobs at the library, apparently there's one for a technology librarian and I was recently mentioned in dispatches (ie commended) in the weekly round-up for my dedication to helping patrons with the technology woes. I'm pretty sure it closes tomorrow and if so I gotta apply!

Anyway even though I am starting work later, I am working tomorrow so I need to get my butt to bed! So for now, goodnight all!

9:50pm: The GOAT of course meaning "Greatest Of All Time" and in this case it refers to - who else - but Roger Federer, the Fed-Ex, the man! He's here at the final of the Australian Open looking to win his 20th - count that - 20th Grand Slam! He's up against Cilic who he beat at Wimbledon last year - although Cilic was injured at the time, but he's not now. The Fed-Ex had a great first set, but lost the second during a tie-break, won the third and now in the fourth it's on a pretty even footing - the Fed-Ex broke serve early, but Cilic took it back and now there's another chance for Fed-Ex if he can break the deuce!

Nope, Cilic is one up! I rather hope we don't end up doing a five setter because I work tomorrow morning and thus can't stay up too late. We'll have to see.

Anywho, I've been slacking so badly on the journaling, mostly due to a lack of excitement, but also because I've been really busy with lots of extra shifts at the library. I may not have got either of those full-time jobs, but I'm still loved :OP

In other news, my fitness tracker isn't working! Like WTF?! The battery was flat so I changed it, only to find I couldn't get the thing to synch up with the app. I've tried everything! I have no idea what the problem could be, I mean the lights still come on and all that, the app says it can 'find it', but then won't pair. Bad news is the company that makes the fitness tracker Jawbone no longer supports any of its devices, so emailing the support people won't do much. I can buy a new one I suppose, but after a while it's kinda not worth it. So I'm seeing if I can get my Aldi one up and running again.

Oh dang, it's going to five sets, I hope it doesn't go too late and I hope Fed-Ex can re-group! He'll be serving first which is a positive! You can do it, Fed-Ex! We believe in you!

On a final note, I've been investigating the upcoming Olympics, less than a fortnight now and dang me if everything isn't on in the morning rather than the evening - which is when you'd expect it. Obviously this better for the the US audiences, but it does make things irritating. I won't be able to see stuff live - I can only hope I don't get spoiled :OP

Oh man, Cilic's got a break point in this first game of the fifth set, I am alarmed! I'm also thirsty, but I don't want leave before seeing how this game goes. Or maybe I should, sometimes I think I'm bad luck :OP

11:50pm: So there's more skating on this week - this time in China, which is pretty good timewise for me...but OMG every skater I was really rooting for bar one screwed up - or got screwed (figure skating judging is notoriously iffy). Now obviously this is ridiculous, I don't control the universe, of course, but man, when five of your favourites end up way off the podium and I don't even know if two of the three who did actually deserved to be you start to get suspicious!

I'm starting to feel relieved rather than bummed that I didn't fangirl Plushy (who's 35th birthday was yesterday) earlier! He might not have become the unstoppable winner he was LOL!

My biggest beef, is that the female skater I like did a triple axel (which is a jump that like...only one other lady can do at the moment) and it wasn't the neatest looking jump, but she did all her other ones amazingly, but still ended up 7th because...I dunno...the rules don't reward that sort of thing anymore. Grumble, grumble.

In other news, there was a rather embarrassing incident at work for me today...a lady and her daughter came in to pick up a DVD they reserved. The first problem, it was the wrong DVD! D: How the Hell did that even happen? Fortunately I was able to find the right one, but it was old and the lady felt that it would be too scratched to work, so she asked if we had a DVD cleaning machine.

Well, we do, but I've never used it and I don't think I'm allowed, which I told her. She looks at me as if I'm a complete idiot and asks if there's anyone else who can. I ask the librarian but she doesn't know anything about it, so at this point I'm getting agitated, the lady is getting more demanding and I don't know what to do.

Finally, I go downstairs to the DVD cleaning machine and try to work it, but it doesn't work. One of the collection management ladies is there so I ask if she knows how to use it. She flips out telling me I shouldn't have touched the machine! Apparently it's really hard to use, and the lady who looks after it is away from work with a broken leg and none of them have been able to figure it out since she's been out.

So I go back to the lady and explain this, but she's still asking what is she meant to do if she takes the disc home and it won't play.

Well, at this point I lose it and snap at her, because I don't have an answer. Because even if she brings it back on Monday or whatever, I don't know if there'll be someone who can work the DVD cleaner there (I don't actually mention that). I tell her we won't charge her for the hold (even though I'm not supposed to do that either), but she STILL wants to know what will happen if the DVD won't play.

At which point I practically yell "I DON'T KNOW?!!" Other people in the library look in our direction, at which point the librarian has to step in and diffuse the situation. But the lady clearly thought I had a problem and was being unreasonable.

But I ask you...was I? Or was she? First off, it's a library, people borrow the DVDs, hopefully they don't wreck them, but if they do, they either need to confess or tell us the DVD doesn't play. I can't possibly know if it does or doesn't because I don't have a frigging DVD player, I mean there is actually one in the library, but it would have taken a fuckload of time to turn on and connect to the TV.

Secondly, I said I couldn't operate the machine, is this an oversight by library management? Maybe, but if I can't use it, I can't use it. But then I tried to and I can only hope I didn't break it! I suppose I should have stood my ground, but she was being extremely pushy.

Now the DVD has been descratched before, a few years ago, but honestly? It probably hasn't been borrowed since then, so.

The point is, the whole thing was embarrassing and upsetting and since we all wear name tags these days now I have to worry that I might be reported! Or that the librarian who I don't know very well, but seems a bit..gossipy might tell. And considering that just this morning another co-worker was telling me how much the appreciated me work as a volunteer and that I'm a great employee is disconcerting.

Or perhaps I'm being oversensitive.

I don't think I've been getting enough sleep lately, so I really need to go to bed right now (it's nearly 12:30am and catch up!)

And my NaNo is languishing with all this skating watching. :OP

So now, goodnight!
