Gee I Hope This Isn't a Trend...

2:10pm: Yeah, I decided to just go with the half day today and take another half day next Monday, which proved to be a very good idea indeed, because I have feeling pretty tired after only 3.5 hours at work! Geeze...it's been a week since I got the cold and I don't recall ever having a lag like this before. I don't think I had this with COVID either, but I can't really remember.
But yeah I hope this isn't some new 40 year old thing where it the recovery from illness just drags, because that would suck ass.
Just goes and checks phone for my sleep amount, hmm only 7 hours which I don't think is quite enough for me and now I'm wondering if I should take a nap or something.
I'm also wondering if I should take my gym bag along tomorrow - I mean it's not super heavy or anything, but I'd rather not lug it in if I'm not going to use it. Dang, I should have checked to see if my work colleague who I usually get a ride with home is out on Thursday (if she's on the weekend shift this Saturday she will be) and I can't check that from home. Boo hiss.
Another good thing about the half day was that I got to take my laptop to the computer shop down the road to sort out the screw situation. It cost $45 but the back of my laptop is now secured, apparently all the screws were loose! Yikes, I should probably keep an eye on them in future, I mean I'd get quite the shock if the bottom just fell out one day. Although maybe I should have let that happened, because there's some tiny bit of plastic inside the case, you can hear it when I move my laptop around. The guy at the shop though, assured me it's unlikely to cause an issue in there. So fingers crossed on that front.
So yeah, I'm now safely ensconced at home watching the replay of the highlights from the last two days of Le Tour De France since I'm asleep by the time it finishes. I did see some of yesterday's stage though and apparently, if the slope of a climb is too steep or you can't make it (because the road's gravel like yesterday and you get caught behind someone) you can in fact get off your bike and push it up without getting disqualified! That's pretty funny. Although obviously not if you're one of the guys who has to do that.
Hmmm...not much else to report although Cities Skylines crashed on me last night after I'd done some fiddly stuff with replacing buildings so that rather sucked. Hopefully it's not one of the things I downloaded, I hate trying to figure out what might be causing the problem. I'll have to give it another go today/night I guess.
On that note...

1. What is the oldest object you own? Hmm...well my parent's still have the first toy doll's crib I had when I was a kid, although it's not exactly mine. Um, probably some old second hand book, I once bought a lot of airplane books at an auction and I think one of them I kept is like from the 60s or something. I do have a pair of green boots from my grandmother that are probably that old too, LOL.
2. What object have you owned the longest?
My Garfield books! I started collecting those in the mid-90s, one of my first obsessions!
3. What is the newest object you own?
I think it would be my mobile phone, which I bought at the start of this year, although I think the phone itself was already a year old when I got it (it was new though, still in the box and everything) but that meant it was cheap. :O) It does alas have a tiny crack at the bottom right of the screen fortunately it's all but unnoticeable, but every so often I see it and go 'do'h'!
4. Who is your oldest living relative?
That would be Grandpa 93 years young, still plays golf twice a week. Seems in general good health except for skin cancers (he was in the Navy so exposed to a lot of sun).
5. Who is your youngest living relative?
Unless one of my cousin's has had a baby lately, I think it would be my nephew Rowan, although, thinking on it, it could be another first cousin once removed, I'm not entirely sure when they were born. Rowan though was a COVID baby - born 2021.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot, despite the sleepiness it was good to be back at work, I may have talked a bit too much though LOL. But hey apart from the parentals and people in church (from a distance) this is the first time I've seen other people in almost a week!
Right, gonna wrap this up now.
