11:49pm: t-shirt when I saw it in K-Mart this evening! Because, how could I not! Especially since I seem to recall seeing the same shirts last year, but not getting one only to find them all sold out when I went back!

Anyway, it's a men's extra-small, because apparently K-Mart doesn't have BTTF shirts for ladies, which seems quite the rip-off, they have plenty of Star Wars themed t-shirts in the women's section, so why not BTTF. But it fits pretty damn well, so yaaay.

Moving on, my busy day when very well! Although for some reason that may or may not be related my right thumb hurts when I bend it, I have no idea what I could have done to it. I guess I could have picked up some heavy books at work today...Man, I need to figure out some exercises for it, I've been working on my other fingers at the gym with weights, but I have no idea how to get the thumb involved.

Anywho, as you can no doubt see I left it quite a bit late to do this entry so I don't have time to say much more, but my bank card still hasn't arrived! It better come tomorrow otherwise I'm going to have to ring my mother up so she can pay for my hair to be done over the phone (although I've just realised, she's doing so relief teaching tomorrow so she may not be available, shiiit) Plus I haven't actually paid for the reunion! So you know, that'll be kind of awkward.

But, there's still tomorrow! So fingers crossed it arrives! And that my cupcakes turn out well, I got the green food colouring today, must remember not to put too much of it in, last time I used red food colouring it was a bit overkill, LOL!

And now, I bid you all goodnight!

10:22pm: Yes, I finally realised how to rotate a video on my phone...with the edit button! Duh! No idea how I missed that, a bit embarrassing to be honest. I've been wanting to put this video on my Cruise Album on Google Pics, I think I mentioned it before? I couldn't find that edit option on my phone before, so I uploaded it because when I searched how to rotate videos it told me you could do it on Google+, but when I did that I couldn't find any way to do it. But! Turned out the option was on the phone the whole time...so we'll get to the later.

But I should update about some current events since I've been slacking on that too. I'm rather excited to say that I've caught up on the Back to the Future comic books! I ordered issues 14 to 17 from Kings Comics on Friday and they arrived today, which was a good idea if I do say so myself because that way I only had to pay for one lot of postage. Of course, it does mean if I'm going to do that I'll even more behind than usual (Australia's all ready behind with comic books). The "Who is Marty McFly" arc was a good read although I got confused at some points, like I was missing something, LOL. I figured it out in the end though so perhaps I didn't miss anything after all. :OP

Aside from that, not a lot of excitement in the life of Moose - although today I started the process to join the new provider Mrs S is going through, which is good news, because she's leaving her old one at the end of this week and if I'm not signed up I can't get paid...or you know actually work. The only pain in the butt was the fact I left the paperwork I need (first aid certificate, police check etc) at home so I had to go from Mrs S's (which is just across the road from the providers) to pick them up so I ended up a bit late for said interview. But it all went pretty well in the end, so things should be good to go next Monday.

And finally, today is Ash Wednesday, I wasn't able to go to any of the morning masses, so I had to go to the evening one, unfortunately I misread the start time so I was at the church a whole half an hour early. Whoops.

Oh and today marked the first day of helping Mum with the Catholic Scripture class, which went pretty well considering how had to haul a heavy-ass box of books to the classroom.

And now...back to the Cruise! )

Phew! This turned out to be a super-long entry and I better not stay up too late tonight, so I shall say goodnight!

10:04pm: Even though Australia's like 13 hours ahead I still felt the need to begin updating this entry at this historic time to celebrate the temporal conjunction point of the entire universe...aka November 12th. :OP

Not that anything particularly momentous happened today, except that it's super hot today and it's almost that time of the month which I'm sure is the reason I got such a nasty headache this afternoon. I took some paracetamol for it when I got home from work (I forewent ice skating today unfortunately) and it didn't do shit! Very annoying because I had to wait for a few hours before taking some Nurofen, although considering they've put out these new paracetamol/nurofen tablets on the market maybe I didn't? Although I wasn't actually sure I had any nurofen, but lucky for me, I did and now my poor head feels much better.

Anywho, moving on, still loving the new laptop! I notice that the keyboard is the sort where food can't get in between the keys, which is a relief because as one of those terrible people who eat while typing so now I don't have to worry about the keys getting stuck! Or maybe I could just stop eating over my keyboard, LOL. :OP

What else to report, well, I've made the cupcakes for Mrs S's party tomorrow. I hope they like them. I shall make the frosting tomorrow morning and then frost the cupcakes last thing, otherwise it tends to harden up too much, at least that's what I've found.

Note to self, I need to ask Mrs S if I can borrow her copy of Microsoft Office because I didn't realise this, but it wasn't actually included with my laptop, do'h! And no way am I forking out for the new Office it costs almost as much as the laptop to get it! Geeze, I just need Word and Excel I'm not asking for a lot. (I suppose I could get one of those free office programs, but I don't feel like it, so I won't. :OP)

Finally, before I get to the Memes...I've forgotten what I was going to type! Because of the headache I've been left super sleepy and rather ditzy. Um...oh! My new sandals...I'm somewhat uncertain about them because I kind of forgot that I can't wear superflat shoes without my orthodics in them because my feet end up hurting. Hopefully, I'll be able to wear them then, because the shoes do seem a little loose, but the next size down was too tight so...

OK, so Memes...man I've let them go for so long I have no idea what the last one I did! It seems it was from July so...

Away We Goooo! )

OK, that's the Saturday 9 for July done! And now, my eyelids are drooping so I'm gonna turn in. I don't think I've been getting enough sleep this week and it's finally hitting me.

So goodnight!

11:23pm: OK, that's a weird subject heading, but after not been able to find salted caramel stuff until I went to the Alfresco Emporium yesterday, now it's popped up again in the form of the Christmas gift from the library! Of course, now I'm wondering if I should try it out myself, or give it to my aunt. I'm not a big fan of salt, so I'm not sure if I'd like the taste. Decisions, decisions...

Anyway, so yes, the volunteer party was today, I was a bit late getting there but I didn't miss the speeches, or all the food, heh so yum! It was also amusing because it was held in the Local Studies Room, where there was a big sign saying No Food or Drink and there we were with a fruit platter, Christmas cake and scones!

After half an hour I decided to head off to the mall to see about getting small presents for my parents and little bro, but I then remembered an email I got the other day regarding the Back to the Future comic book, the third issue is all ready out! And I haven't even got the first one! However, the only comic book shops are in the city, so...I decided to leave my car parked at the mall and take the L90 in.

I went to Lincraft first and bought some fabric scissors and tried to see if they had any of the reusable shopping bags, but alas they did not (I have now ordered a bee one and a pig one from Ebay), then onto the comic shops! At the first one, which is closing down over the next year, has been around for a very long time, since the 70s, so it's sad to hear it will go. And the same two guys are still running it and they recognised me! Is my face that memorable? Anyway, I found the first issue there, but not the second, so I went to the other comic shop too.

However, they didn't have the second one either! Apparently it's only available online now, so I'll have to order it, that kinda sucks...especially because by going to the second comic shop (not to mention having to go get money from the ATM because some places still have EFTPOS minimums!) I missed the bus I needed to get so I that I wouldn't get charged for parking back at the Mall! That cost me five bucks (and 12 cents because of the credit card surchage), boooo! That's never happened to me before.

Hmpf, but I have the comics and I've read the first story, interesting stuff! Can't wait to see what other stories will unfold.

I was inspired to some creativity this evening, too, making a new mobile phone pouch, since the current one was all dirty and gross, not to mention it's too small for the phone which is how it fell out into the garbage bin on Monday!

Her'es the old one and here's the new one, which has an added bonus, I positioned the strap so I can turn it around, and on the other side is...an ice skate!. Pretty cool huh?

So my day was quite busy especially since I even got my food shopping in, go me!

Now though, I need to head off to bed, goodnight all!

11:09pm: Holy Shit! I just got an email and you won't believe from who...

ME!

Not me now...PAST me! Past me from 2003...although I seemed to be under the impression it was 2004 and that 1955 was 60 years in the past. Man, I know I'm bad at maths and time-keeping but that's pretty bad. But I can't believe it worked! I do remember doing it and wondering if it would since it kind of depended on the company continuing to exist, but it has!

Here's what I said! )

Hahahaha, I sound exactly the same! Which I guess isn't too much of a surprise, I mean one's personality is pretty set by the time you're 19 or 20 I'd assume.

But hey, I have good news for my past self I'm not in terrible debt! But I do have a place of my own to live in which isn't a terrible mess right now, buuuut. And I do still love BTTF and I do play The Sims sometimes...

I also mention tapes...heh, remember VCR? I actually do have tapes though...and I do have enough room for them.

And yes Past Me...31 is fun! :OD

Although, I'm still behind on NaNo! I was hoping to get to 15,000 words today so I'd only be two days behind, but it's almost bed time and I'm not gonna make it. Booo!

Oh well, here's the count as it stands at present:

13501 / 50000 words. 27% done!

Sick Day

Oct. 27th, 2015 11:20 pm
anonymoose_au: (Oww...Aaah...Owwww)
11:12pm: I'm afraid so. My abdomen was in a bad way this morning and I knew there was no way I could drive to work, so I had to call Mrs S with lots of apologies and later on the Warringah Mall Library to say I was sick.

At about 10am I went back to bed where I slept until 3pm, bit despite all that I'm really tired now, so this will be a short entry.

I did make a big move though, I drove to my parents house, where I'm spending the night which will hopefully make getting to Mrs S's tomorrow easier because Wednesday is the one day the other carer can't come in, at least not without a lot of rearranging.

As for the shift at Dee Why Library tomorrow afternoon...well I hope I can get to that!

Right gotta sleep now, but today brought one piece of good news, the 3Oth Anniversary DVD set of Back to the Future arrived! Woohoo! I look forward to watching it when I feel better.

For now, goodnight.
anonymoose_au: (Arthur- Awesome)
10:34pm: Yes! The internet and even TV are full of stories and whatnot about Back to the Future, so fabulous! It's a good day to be a Backie! I've set up a post for Tumblr of the scene at the start of the second movie, to show up tomorrow at 8:29am because that's when it'll be 4:29pm in California. I hope it works, I've never used the post scheduling feature before.

In other news, I made a bit of stuff up today re: the skating...I managed to read the session times wrong, so after work today I hurried to get to Macquarie Centre by 12:30, thinking that the lunchtime session went from 11:30am to 1:30pm. I actually succeeded in getting there - despite going the long way and taking a slight detour - only to find...it's only a two hour session on Sundays! The rest of the time the lunchtime session is 1 and a half hours. So basically, there was only half an hour left. Shiiit.

Also, it's a flat rate of 20 bucks with no discount for having your own skates, so obviously I didn't go, I decided to wait for the next session and having expected to spend 20 bucks, I'd go in the first hour instead of the second. Even with those compromising, I had two and a half hours to kill. So I had lunch, ran into someone I used to went to school with - I later realised the shorts I was wearing are my crappier ones with the paint stain that won't quite come out - awkward :OP, then I left the mall - because you only get three hours free parking, and if I didn't I'd end up having to pay 4 bucks for being there 3 and half hours - and went to get some petrol and check out a Vinnies shop in Ryde. Unfortunately, I didn't find anything...except, I checked the purse Lorraine has in the film and it's one of those old school beaded ones and I think I might have seen one of those, but I didn't realise it would be the right one at the time!

But I got back to the mall - and after an hour the three hours begin again - although I was told the ice rink would validate my parking for an extra hour, but eh whatever and got on the ice. :O) Since it was the beginning of the session the ice was so smoooooth, nice! It's almost worth paying extra for that...Oh well, we'll see what the ice is like at the Sunday session.

After an hour I headed off for the Super Centre in Belrose, Mrs S gave me her bedroom curtain, which the other carer had pinned up to sew and I wanted to get matching thread - and also return that bais binding I got. I planned to go via Mona Vale Road (face the fear), but I got a bit confused and ended up having to go via Warringah Road which was a bad choice because the traffic on that thing is just terrible in the afternoons. Eventually, I turned off and took a back route for a bit.

The curtain has been taken up now and it looks great if I do say so myself :OP! Although, I was going to do more with my petticoat, but I haven't got round to it and it's kinda late now.

Anyway, I better wrap this up I still don't seem to be getting enough sleep and that won't do at all!

In closing HAPPY BACK TO THE FUTURE DAY! (OMG, I don't have a BTTF icon available! D:)

10:53pm: I do believe I've pretty much completed the dress and petticoat! It's been hard work and I think I might have stuffed up the petticoat a bit when sewing the tulle onto the yoke, so now there's almost a bustle effect, LOL, I certainly don't need help in that department. :OP It also doesn't help that as I discovered the other day that there's special petticoat fabric. It's a bit late to do anything about it now...well technically it's not I suppose, but I'm sure it'd be expensive to buy the fabric.

But! I shan't keep you all in suspense - here's the petticoat, please excuse the jeans, but as I discovered last night if I don't have pants on under it you can see my underwear! LMAO. It doesn't look quite right as you can see...

But when I've got the dress on over it it looks a lot better, right? :O) I think it might be a bit short, but eh, what you gonna do?

And also I hope you all noticed the shoes! They arrived today! :OD They're not quite as pink as I hoped, but they're a pretty good match and I can probably wear them with other stuff too, which is nice. I wanted to show them to my mother but she wasn't home when I popped by after work at Mrs. S's. I did show Mrs. S the shoes though since I've been telling her all about the costume and she thought they were pretty sharp.

In other news, I'm trying to figure out when to go see my friend's car, Mum sent me a message this morning suggesting that I didn't really need to see it since I've all ready test driven a Citroen much like that one before, but I do want to see my friend! Although I'm not sure of her address, I sent her a Facebook Message about getting her mobile number and while it says she's seen it she hasn't replied! I guess she's busy, I'm sure she'll get back to me.

Speaking of the car...I feel the signs are continuing, when I left Mrs. S's today what should I drive behind...but a green Citroen! What are the odds, I ask you? It was even for sale! I didn't get a chance to get any info about that since I was driving. I sensed it might have been a manual though...

Anyway, I went to Mum and Dad's house as I said to have some lunch before going on to the library, Dad was working on the story of his and Mum's trip earlier this year and I shared my hopes for the car, but he still thinks I'm nutty, he just really loves his Chery though.

After my lunch it was off to the library where I spent half an hour doing some inter-library loans until it was time to begin my shift! Today I had my first taste of working with the public when it's super busy. They all like to come at once...but the woman I was working with managed to handle it all, so that was cool. I also did quite a bit of shelving. And my new black shoes were pretty comfortable, so that's another relief!

Annnd, I've just looked up petticoat net on the Lincraft website and wouldn't you know it? It's cheap ...like $1.50 a metre cheap...Damn, I'm so going to need and buy some. Perhaps I should buy some fabric to make a better yoke...Decisions, decisions...

They'll have to wait though, because bed calls! Tomorrow is my Saturday shift at Mona Vale, so I have to get up at about 8:15 so I can get there by 9:30.

Finally, now I no longer have a paid account I don't have a BTTF icon...but I don't want to delete any icons I all ready have...so...have a happy Plushy instead.

And now I'm off! Memes tomorrow...I hope ;O)

Goodnight!

9:46pm: Yes, after missing the actual US release date of 3rd July, I went on IMDB and found out that 15th August 1985 was the day the movie was released down under, so I made the decision to watch the first movie on this day. And I managed not to forget either so here I am watching it! Hopefully, I've managed to synch it up some the big lightning strike will happen at 10:04, but I'm not sure the internet gave me the right time.

I'm up to the part where Marty is (over) rocking out to Johnny Be Good, LOL...I love this movie I really do. I've even got my shirt that I had printed. I'm very proud of it, since I created the collage in Photoshop all on my own, although I'm not sure I should have put that 20th Anniversary bit in there, ah well.

Hmm, the Clocktower scene has begun and there's still 12 minutes 'til 10:04! But Doc just said there's only 7 minutes and 34 seconds left! Movie time has lied to us again it would seem. :OP

And yes I'm watching as I type, the benefits of learning to touch type, I heartily recommend all youth do it!

In un-BTTF related news, today was skating day! Although I wasn't sure if I was going to get there in time because for some reason the traffic really sucks on one of the roads I need to take to get to Macquarie. I have no idea why because it just disappears at a certain point, I didn't think that many people turned off. Anyway, the good news is I got into the actual skating rink with a minute to spare, so I threw on my skates and went out there.

I'm pleased to say I'm doing much better on the ice, but I swear I'm never going to be able to go backwards, why were skating moves all developed with the person going backwards? What's up with that? Seems a bit counter-intitutive.

Aaah, I think I've done something wrong here...it's 9:57 and Marty's just taken off a bit late to hit the wire...somehow I've lost four minutes? Or is that gained four minutes? Rude! Should I pause so I can celebrate the big moment? That'll ruin the suspense, but then that's the whole point of this exercise!

So I have.

But seriously the webpage I went to categorically told me to start the movie at 8:23 and 14 seconds! That was the Blu-Ray release, and I'm watching the regular DVD version, but I don't recall 4 whole extra minutes been stuck in the blu-ray version at any rate. Hmpf, I guess I'll have to try again on 5th of November at 8:27 and 14 seconds.

Anyway, I won't do memes, because it's hard to do that and watch a movie at the same time, plus my eyes are dry and I have to blink a lot.

So! On that note I shall update this entry celebrating the greatest movie of all time at 10:04pm precisely!

For now, goodnight!

11:32pm: It remains bloody cold, no doubt because of the wind blowing down from the Blue Mountains where a whole lot of snow fell yesterday - because the climate's gone haywire. I wore four layers today - singlet, skivvy, cardigan and jacket, but while at church I still felt chilly! I could have worn my coat, but I thought I might go to Coles afterwards and didn't want to end up being acclimatised and thus cold when I was doing that. I kept my scarf on though and at one point even put on my gloves, a truly sad state of affairs.

In the end I didn't go to Coles because as I said - it's cold - and I decided it wasn't necessary, plus before leaving for church in the car, I'd hung my second load of washing out, somehow not noticing the threatening clouds. i hadn't got even half way to church before the rain started to fall. I left a message for C asking if she could rescue the stuff before it got too thoroughly soaked but I had no idea if she got it or not. As it turned out, she or N had and when I got back I found the clothes in my laundry basket near the back door of the main house. Phew!

I'm currently watching Le Tour which has caused me to be distracted and that's why I'm writing this so late! Also I finished two books today, I've been reading them for a while and one of them was the new BTTF book We Don't Need Roads, excellent read! I recommend it to all Backies!

Anyway, I better head off, since tomorrow I'm meeting with my parents, grandparents and my great aunt for lunch at the restaurant at the War Vetrans Home, Grandpa will be coming by to pick me up at 11:30 so I best be ready!

I hope I'll get a chance to speak to Mum about this flat I saw on Gumtree, it looks very nice $300 including bills, although not Foxtel or internet I'll have to figure that out myself, and I wonder if we should make a move on it, it's sure to be snapped up quickly and it becomes available on the 25th!

LOL, there's a lot of butt shots going on in Le Tour today...must be because the helicopter has to be so high up in the air - the race is going through a gorge at the moment and the helicopter can't go with in 900 feet, so there's lots of motorcycle camera work today.

Right, I shall do the memes tomorrow, for now, though, goodnight!

10:27pm: I have to get my person to bed soon! Honestly you watch one show at night and suddenly it's past 10!

Anyway, today was a busy day, what with work and then volunteering, I got to spread my good news today! :O) Although unfortunately, I managed to forget to bring the cupcakes along, do'h fail! I must remember to do so tomorrow!

I got an SMS from the post office while I was at the library, apparently a package had arrived for me! I was quite excited and went to the Newsagency/Post Office up at the shops once I finished getting some stuff at Coles only to find...no package was there! WTF?!

When I got home I took a look in the mailbox and found the card the Postman left, which indicated the parcel needed to be picked up after 4pm, well, the SMS could have mentioned that. Hmpf! So after watching RPA, I walked around the corner and up the hill back to the newsagency, wondering what the package could be. I was rather hoping it would be my new phone cover, because my current one is this close to falling apart, it was not, instead it was...We Don't Need Roads, the behind the scenes book about Back to the Future! OMG, how exciting! I haven't actually started reading it yet because I was finishing the autobiography of a chap with Asperger's Syndrome who is also a savant, which I wrapped up today, so tomorrow I'll be able to start on the new book. Yaaay.

What else to report? Oh yeah, I forgot to mention this before, but my missing silicone cupcake cups? They showed up, apparently I'd managed to hide them somewhere and when I cleared my table yesterday, there they were, that's a relief!

And since I have to get up at 7pm it's time to wrap this entry up and hit the hay and let it be said these cold nights are making me very happy to have my electric blanket! Ain't technology grand. :O)

10:29pm: Because I didn't watch the movie today! But I was out a lot today, first I went to the gym, then I bought a new swimsuit at the Togs shop - as it's closing down and everything's half-price, and by the time I got home there was hardly any time to spare before I had to turn around and head out for church! And on my way home I stopped by Aldi planning to get the penguin themed beanie, scarf and glove/mitten set, but I mixed up which Aldi I saw it at and went to the wrong one. However, it wasn't a waste because I got a new block of lite cheddar cheese and while waiting at the register I saw a single electric blanket waiting to be put back out (I assume) and purchased that too, it's heating up my bed as I type.

And then when I got home there was Father Brown to watch and then I got distracted and by the time I remembered Wimbledon was starting with Fed-Ex up against an Aussie. I'm going for the Fed-Ex of course, because he's the best.

Still, I should load up BTTF into the DVD player tomorrow, but I definitely need to make sure I watch the films on 21st October! Or at least the first part of Part II that takes place on that date - since it is a Wednesday and I might be working!

I did take a BTTF quiz that was linked on Facebook and I nailed it, although as a dedicated Backie I'd expect that. ;O)

In other news, the internet is being a dick, I swear, the change over to Optus can't happen fast enough, Telstra just wants to be a dick!

Before I head off, let's do the Friday memes! )

11:22pm: I keep sticking to my couch - gross, but true. Damn, not very comfortable let me tell you. I guess I should turn the air conditioner back on, I didn't think I needed it, buut...

In unrelated news, I decided to change my mobile phone's ringtone today, I've had the "Help! Help! I can't get out! I can't get out of the pocket! Help me, mister!" one for some years now and while I do love it, first of all, I never get to the "Help me, mister!" part before it goes to voicemail and second of all, it keeps freaking people out because of the "Help, help! I can't get out!" part, which proves to be quite awkward. So, now I'm using the theme to Back to the Future and man, I can't believe I haven't tried that before! It sounds so epic! I have decided to use my last icon space to upload my Back to the Future icon. Ah, takes me back.

I had something else to say, but I've forgotten what it was now...oh wait now I do! I was prompted to make this ringtone change when I missed a phone call this morning. It went to voice mail, so I called my voice mail to hear it and discovered another message from my friend in New York, only she's back here in Australia for a few weeks! Why was I left uninformed about this? Damn you, voice mail service! I waited a bit before calling since I woke up at 8:30, but I had to leave a message with her mother, but eventually I got onto her. How exciting! She's going to be here for my birthday, I really must have a party where the inflatable Scrabble board can get some use - only I think said board is back at Newtown...damn. I'll have to investigate that, I can at least use that picnic set I won at the gym...I'm thinking the beach might be nice.

And with a bit of difficult I managed to schedule my IPL and eyebrow wax for tomorrow afternoon, so that's good, because otherwise I'd never get it done before Christmas.

Speaking of doing things before Christmas, Centrelink has decided to be an asshat, by telling me I need to report today, but then making it impossible to do so by having technical difficulties with their app and online report thing. Bloody hopeless.

It better work tomorrow, because I need that money by the end of this week otherwise I'll have to take even more money out of my savings to cover my rent! I suppose I can just put the money back in once I'm paid, but I'd rather not.

11:03pm: LOL on the TV just now there was one ad encouraging people to do Ocsober (forego drinking for the month of October and donate what you save to help kids) followed directly by...an ad encouraging you to buy six packs of beer to win a trip or something. Pft, they obviously just stick on whatever ads they feel like with no consideration.

In other news, the Inter-Library Loans Officer is still away! Gee, I hope she's recouperating all right, in the meantime I caught up on some of the inter-library loan stuff, although as I think I've mentioned before another librarian on staff has been doing the work as well. Although, not as much as usual because I keep having to send books got from other branches back because by the time they get to us the online system has all ready moved the request on. Which is a bit of a pain in the ass, but what are you going to do?

Speaking of interesting stuff on TV, last week I'd written about how I kept seeing a promo on CI for a show I've never seen, and wouldn't you know it, it finally showed up today. Although I still haven't seen it because I was watching something else earlier this evening, it's coming up next though. Not sure if I'll actually watch it because I've got a bit a headache. Not sure why, except I did wake up an hour earlier than normal this morning which was very annoying, I keep getting these night sweats which wake me up in the middle of the night. I probably should have asked the doctor about that when I saw him back in September, but I forgot. It's a bit of a mystery, but I think it might be related to PMS.

And I've just remembered, Back to the Future days are coming up soon! Which is quite amusing since the movie's been in the news a bit with some people creating a hoverboard! Unfortunately, said hoverboard on'y hovers 2 cms above the ground and will only work on copper. Still, it would be pretty cool if a few more prototypes were out this time next year.

Right, I be sleepy, I think I'll just wait til the repeat tomorrow to watch the long unseen show and hit the hay instead.

I bid you all goodnight!

11:21pm: First off my progress on the assignment is only a little over the halfway point. Sigh... I so need to get it done before the weekend ends as Monday will only give me a bit of time to male sure everything is written up and is correctly laid out and all that shit.

My other concern is, I think I stepped on a tiny shard of glass from my favourite glass, which I broke last night. :O( I thought I'd picked it all off...it had pretty much broken into three big pieces or so I thought. But my right foot has had this sore spot on it since this morning. I thought I removed a bit of glass from it this morning, so now I'm worried there's a tiny bit of it stuck in there. Oh man, I hope not. Maybe it'll feel better tomorrow.

In other news, not much, since I spent most of the day trying to do the assignment, sigh, I really should have done a better job on it, but man I'm so not cut out for management. Fuck that noise.

Oh man, I am reminded that I haven't found much in the way of job ads in the papers or any of my job list email things. Not good at all. How is one supposed to find a job when there's none available! What the Hell is this? Maybe I should take up house painting or landscaping or something...bah!

Anyway, Memes please:

Friday's Question

24/01/2014

Do you have an eclectic mug collection, or is your stuff all matchy matchy? Eclectic, particularly as I don't drinK coffee - although I drink hot chocolate - So yeah a wide range of mugs, my favourite is my crossword mug! That thing is bitchin'! Personalized by moi.

Friday5

Like Family Part 1

1. In what not-so-good way are you like your father? As amply demonstrated this week, dealing with people when frustrated leads to angry outbursts.

2. In what not-so-good way are you like your mother? I be most lazy, preferring to lounge around rather than clean up things.

3. In what not-so-good way are you like your siblings? Uh...gee I can't think of anything that isn't one of my parents traits too! Um...addiction to smart phones or something?

4. In what not-so-good way are you like a relative outside your immediate family? This I have no idea! I do argue a bit like my granfather I guess, not taking into account the other person's point-of-view.

5. If members of your family voted, what would they elect as the thing about you they’d most like to change? My inability to CONTROL THE VOLUME of my voice.

The (Other) Friday Five

24/01/2014

1. Do you snack? Hell yes!

2. Do you prefer sweet or salty snacks? Sweet! Although every so often I get a serious hankering for something savoury like Jatz or potato chips.

3. What one snack can you not resist? Cheeeeeese!

4. What one snack do you refuse to try? I don't much like the sound of trail mix, sounds like what you put on a trail, not eat!

5. Do you tend to snack more by yourself or when you are with friends? Bye myself definitely, damn my lack of job at present, it's causing me an increase in caboose size. *Eats another cookie LOL*

Right, it's getting late, time for me to head off, lots to do tomorrow!

Oh oh! Before I go, exciting Backie news, there's going to be a Back to the Future Musical next year! Eeee! I hope it'll be successful! This could speak well for future projects.

Goodnight all!

10:15pm: Because [personal profile] crossover_chick's link to tumblr review of the first Back to the Future novelisation is the greatest thing I've ever read, I shit you not. I laughed until I cried at some points. Hee!

However, there was a downside, I slacked off on the NaNoing today! Which considering I woke up late today (nearly 11am!) and then went to the Day of Climate Action (late, so I missed all the speakers, do'h!), then dilly-dallied home - because I popped by the new mall building thing they're building near my old Uni - was not a good idea. I still haven't cracked the 20,000 word barrier yet! Oh dear and I even copied my story file over to my laptop so I can type at the desk here, but yeah. Oh well, on the plus side I at least know where the story is going, unlike last year where I was just kind of pulling stuff out of my butt, LOL.

Anyway, despite arriving at the Day of Climate Action late, there was still some activity going on, some petitions to sign, a neat band to listen to. There was also a very strange sight as I left...it's a line of porter potties and one has been tipped over! WTF?!

There was an interesting booth there about a Superannuation company that does responsible investment, I'm thinking I need to join that because it's right up my alley! I'm often wondering how much of my super is being invested in fossil fuel like companies, which just isn't cool.

Also I got a photo of this neat sign and this lady dressed up as the sun!

So yeah, that was cool.

After that I went and looked at the new mall that's just opened up as part of a development that's going on opposite to my old Uni, UTS. It's a very odd looking new building which boast the largest 'vertical garden' on a building yet, which means there's trees and plants growing on it. It's pretty neat! There's this interactive game inside where you can upload your heartbeat and then pick a visual experience to go with it. I choose the dancing one, heh, it projected my silluotte on the wall so I could dance...badly.

I also went and looked at the display suites for the apartments they're building on the site too. They're pretty damn fabulous! My New York lamps would look super cool in one of those, but I'm sure they're expensive as Hell.

Right, better head off now to work on the NaNo a bit more before I head to bed, I need to go to the post office to get my birth certificate before work tomorrow.

I leave you will the Word Count:

19743 / 50000 words. 39% done!

Oh noooes still not to 40% yet! D:

Well, I'm gonna have to try and fix that!

10:21pm: I blame my distractabilty and the fact I kind of forgot to my ADHD stuff as well as my anti-anxiety medication, which didn't actually cause anxiety, but left me feeling very dizzy after I went out to buy the sauce for spaghetti. Then I remembered that I needed to go to the Convenience Shop to ask about moving their car, because I still can't get the Box Thing open. However, I think I must have left it too late because the woman who rents the spot wasn't there, do'h! The owner of the shop said might be back after 5:30, but when I came back at 6:30 she wasn't there.

Ah well, I don't actually need to get in there urgently, maybe I'll try next Tuesday.

After getting back from the Convenience shop for the first time and taking my anti-anxiety stuff I did a bit of writing, but because it is 12th November, I had to watch Back to the Future! No point in putting a movie on if you're not going to watch it so...

And finally, I needed to submit that job application for a library job that would be right up my alley and I always have trouble with those things, so it took me quite a lot of revising and whatnot until I was finally ready to send that off, which I've just done now. Except of course, bed calls soon.

Still, I did get most of the laundry done - one load is left because I don't have enough space to hang everything up. And like I said I did get some writing done, but I haven't even broken the 1,000 word mark today, do'h!

That being the case, I should leave off here and get to the typing! Before I go though, the woeful word count:

11966 / 50000 words. 24% done!

Well, almost a quarter done at least...

And now, I shall be off!

Oh Ass

8:56pm: I just rolled on the book I was reading and bent the cover :O( Why can't I keep my books in shape? You should see what my Missal (the book with all the readings and whatnot for church) looks like, a very sad state of affairs.

Oh well, at least the book only cost me $7, still I'd rather keep my books looking nice and loved!

Moving on today we visited M for the Easter egg exchange, meeting Aunt Weed as well as Uncle Sam and cousin Mack there. So lots of chocolatelyggoodness has been given, yum! Although I probably should be careful not to eat too much of it because I had a stomachache today and in fact I had to take some Buscopan for it, which seems to have worked at least.

But yeah, it was great to hang out with the family including the little bro, who wanted me to drive him back to his apartment afterwards and pick up the Easter eggs he bought but didn't bring over, but with my anxiety issues of late I declined. I'm a bit worried about what will happen tomorrow evening when I go home after work, but I guess that's part of my problem! Too much worrying ahead! Smacks hand, keep focussed me!

Now, seeing as I'm updating this earlier than usual, I'm able to catch up on the Memes from yesterday.

The Sunday Seven

Eh, it's about Bible passages, I can't be arsed to think which ones are my favourites so I'll skip this week's one.

Unconscious Mutterings

I say ... and you think ... ?

1. Mailbox :: Mailman

2. Creamy :: Delicious!

3. Deal :: with it!

4. Eyeglasses :: Spectacles

5. Bag :: Dad

6. People :: E veryone

7. Candy :: Canes

8. Orange :: Peels

9. Frosting :: Chocolate!

10. Surrender :: Let go

Right, that's all caught up then.

Before I go, I must complain about my inability to eat chocolate eggs without getting crumbs of it on my person, which then leads to chocolate stains on my shirt! Boo :O( Fortunately, my father can just about any kind of stain out of clothes, but still, it'd be nice to be able to eat properly, LOL.

And finally in closing I wore Casual Albert to the hospital today which of course meant I was super over dressed but I looked mighty fine if I do say so myself. Shame that the weather is about to turn cold, I probably won't be able to wear him til the Spring!

And now...I'm thirsty so I shall be off! Goodnight all!

Oh! I almost forgot, Happy 75th Birthday to my favourite movie character George McFly!

10:24pm: So, I finished the Back to the Future game today, good times, good times. Although, I'm reminded that there's a "To Be Continued..." teaser at the end of the last game. Hmmm, wonder if that's ever going to come about, it's been a couple of years now. But what are you gonna do?

In other news My Little Pony was back on this week, yay! A very fun episode with Pinkie being Pinkie and the Crystal Empire and we briefly got to see Rainbow Dash's father, which was super exciting! I love background info like this, plus he had a super cool design.

Moving along, I've been watching my crime shows and I feel I should remind people again that should you be arrested do make sure you call your lawyer, this is not in fact an admission of guilt, but a totally smart move.

Aside from that, I didn't do very much at all, but I did head out to do some food shopping to make spaghetti for tonight, which I did, very yummy.

And now I'm playing Sims 3, so I better do the memes and get onto that!

Stop! Meme time )

Whoops...

Feb. 6th, 2013 11:18 pm

10:47pm: Right, I had a rather embarrassing moment at work this morning when I discovered that I'd packed a mismatched set of shoes! So basically I had to wear my sneakers all day (I wear them to work, you see, so my feet don't get sore), which you know doesn't make for a good look, but what can you do? I considered going and buying some red sandal, since I kind of need a new pair, but as with the black shoes I tried to find last week, it's a lot harder than it sounds, seriously, what passes for shoe fashion these days?

Well, suffice to say, no shoes were purchased, but I did get to work early and made good time getting to the gym afterwards, which means I was able to get to Aldi afterwards, so I've got my cheeses and carrots, yum!

Aside from that, not much else to report, although I played more of the BTTF game, I'm on Game 4 now and making good progress, I might not be able to play tomorrow because my mother has roped me into helping her make a poster. I probably should have worked on it tonight, but I didn't feel like it.

And now I must be off, I got to bed too late last night, so I better rectify this situation!

So, goodnight all!
