6:19pm: The second last day of the year!

I've just got back from the gym and I've recently been looking at old LJs and I'm reminded that once again I've been slacking on the updating.

However, there's not a whole lot to report, or maybe that's not true, because after nearly 3 years my big brother and his family have been able to visit from the Japan! :O) His kids are 7, 5 and 1.5 years old now. I've never met the youngest until now, he can walk but he can't talk, which is normal I think. The other two more than make up for it though, in fact they might talk more than I do (I never thought I'd see the day!)

Just got a phone call from Mum about tomorrow, I'll be going over to my parents place for the evening - they've rented an visitor's room while my brother and his family are here so Dad has somewhere to hide from the chaos. I'll also be going over to my grandparent's place during the day to hang out with my grandmother, so yeah gonna be busy!

Christmas went well! I got some fancy new towels for my bathroom, always appreciated :O) Plus we had a super yummy Christmas lunch! Usually the whole maternal side of the family gets together, but this year we went to my grandparents place only for the morning. But on the 27th we went to my uncle's place - which is currently under renovation - but has a nice big deck out the back which my aunt and her husband also came. More super yumminess!

Yesterday, I went to visit the niece and nephew again, my little bro was also there so we went down to the park. It's a pretty impressive park, it's got a jungle gym along with the usual swings and play ground equipment. The youngest nephew and my big bro popped up later - it was amusing because I saw my nephew first and was wondering how the heck he managed to get there (as I said he's only 1.5 LOL), then I spotted the big bro.

In other news, Mum reminded me during the phone call that in just over two weeks she, Dad and I will be heading down to Melbourne on the cruise ship. I hope I'll be able to stay calm, I did get my fourth booster shot a couple of weeks back so I should have maximum protection. Having said that though, getting COVID even if you don't have much symptoms would truly suckass on a cruise, you have to stay confined to your room! Although at least my parents have sprung for a balcony cabin, but imagine being in one of those tiny ones without a window!

Anywho, I've got right back into The Sims 3 over the past few months, I've created a Hill Valley and populated it with ancestors of our favourite (and not so favourite) characters. I've had to download a whole bunch of hack type things to make everything run smoothly although it's still being a bit hit and miss. I swear my Sims game is crazy, it has an attraction system which I can't figure out the mechanics of, although it seems to be..."Be attracted to be in-laws", like the husband will not have the "magnetically attracted" mood when he's hanging with his wife, but he will have it when he's with his mother-in-law. And in-laws can flirt in the Sims so that's pretty awk! So far no-one's run off with their parent-in-law, but it's still whack.

Also playing with the Tannen family means I've got a family of assholes and it's hard to keep them from totally killing each other. They're even enemies with their own kitten! I've tried to get at least one of them be friends with the cat, but not much luck there. On the plus side, Howard Tannen (Biff's grandpa) at least gets on with his mother. However, I'm trying to get Howard together with his future wife (Biff's grandma the one who yells from the house at him) and it's proving a bit difficult, he keeps picking on his future father-in-law. LOL, what an idiot. And Buford's having an affair which seems on point...

In other news, I'm still without a fish, ever since Fishshenko died a few months back and I found out that my tank's water is too high in phosphate. I have changed the water and all that stuff, but I haven't had the water re-tested yet. I'm a bit concerned about the tank to be honest...it's got algae in it. I cleaned it all off when I did a complete water change, but it's since come back. Once I get a new fish, I won't be able to totally change all the water again so I'm not sure what to do. Should I empty it AGAIN, wash off all the rocks and restart the water cycle again? This might be a question for the internet.

Anyway! I better be off, I won't be able to play any Sims 3 tomorrow so I should get onto that this evening. Also, it's hot in my apartment again so I need to put my air conditioner on actually conditioning - the dehumidifier isn't cutting it right now.

Oh I almost forgot, part of the reason I was updating was to mention this seriously bizarre dream I had last night which involved Mum and I going to some sort of market where Crispin Glover, of all people, had a stand. I spent the whole dream wondering if I should go over and ask for an autography particularly since I happened to be wearing a Back to the Future t-shirt, LOL. Eventually, I got up the courage to go over there with Mum at which point it started pouring down with rain. I think I actually got away with mentioning BTTF and I got my autograph, but then I couldn't figure out how to get back to the train station where Mum was waiting (how we got separated, I don't know). I finally made it to the platform, but it wasn't the right one and then I woke up, do'h!

Right if I don't update before then, Happy New Year and here's to a 2023 that doesn't suck!

10:48pm: I had last night! Suffice to say I won't go there...although when my alarm woke me up I went back to sleep and had a really weird - but not creepy dream - about the cast of My Little Pony in an Olympic swimming competition - LOL whut?

Aside from that, not much to report, I cleaned the Granny Flat as usual before Mum came and picked me up - which was very nice of her, but she had an ulterior motive, firstly she needed my help in carrying a box to the storage shed of their new house in the retirement village and then to drive the car home when we went to my little bro's place to pick up Dad's car, which he had borrowed the last week so he could go in a road trip with a friend. Mum and I hung out with him for a bit until I realised I was going to miss out on the gym completely unless I got a wriggle on! As it was I only did swimming, which was refreshing, not sure what to do tomorrow though...I was able to drive the car comfortably enough (which I was a bit worried about) but yeah, hmmm...

In other news I'm afraid the hole in my jeans is well and truly established, do'h. I might have to see about going to M and Grandpa's via the Mall tomorrow to buy some new ones. On the plus side the sales should be on at the moment...fingers crossed. Must remember to get money from Mum, especially since when I went to pay the electricity bill this afternoon I accidentally paid it twice! :Oo Hmmm, wonder if I should call AGL about getting it refunded since money is tight for me these days.

And since I have to get up early tomorrow I better do the Meme and head for the sheets.

8:48pm: Job/moneywise, that is, at the newsagency today the boss asked me how my interview last week so I let him know that alas I had no luck there, at which point he told me that the girl who works Sunday shifts is leaving and he asked me if I would be interested in doing it.

Can we say Hell yeah! Especially since working on Sunday earns you time and a half! Which means if I get it I'll be earning enough from the newsagency to cover my apartment mortgage and the rest of what I earn can go towards bills and actually saving money! He didn't actually say I would get the shift, although the second in command put in a good word for me, whoo! Fingers crossed friends!

So yeah, I'm feeling better, had a proper appetite today, although I was rather dizzy or at least lightheaded for a lot of the day, not to mention I'm feeling bloody tired right now. What's all that about?

I have to say...I seem to have a slightly sore throat again, I wonder if this is some sort of virus...I really need to get me some Vitamin C if that's the case. I haven't been eating any oranges or mandarins lately. Maybe I should have got that Natural Hay fever Relief stuff with the added Vitamin C.

Hmmm, just went to the weekly chat with my Library Management class lecturer, I must say I was expecting a bit more information! Oh well, I'll go to the library tomorrow and see about funding some books or something for my references.

In other news, I had a weird dream last night, or rather a weird dream experience, at first I was dreaming about working at the newsagency, then the dream shifted and...I was doing something else, not sure what, but anyway at some point I ended up back at the newsagency where I was promptly told off for leaving on my lunch break and never coming back! LOL whoops? I mean the dream totally changed...it wasn't like it was a whole long continuous segment or anything. Weird!

Anyway! I better go, the assignment calls, also I need to do my last two Christmas cards otherwise they won't get to where they need to go even if they are for my fellow Aussies!

9:56pm: My brain is most dead today, this is most unfortunate.

But let me just say I had the weirdest dream last night! Hercule Poirot was in it and we were trying to solve a murder mystery, or he was at least, I don't think I was actually there. It was rather violent for a Poirot mystery, I mean someone got run over by a train! WTF? Its rather interesting that I remember it so clearly since I usually don't, I mean I remember my dreams when I wake up, but usually as the day goes on I forget.

In other news, my feet are cold. I had to take my socks off becaus there's a hole in one. Hmmm, I think I have some bed socks around somewhere.

This isn't a very interesting entry, LOL.

Hmmm...nah not really. I read lots of different kinds of books! Right now for my assignment I'm reading about Celtic legends and stuff. It's pretty cool! I like reading crime and biographies and all sorts of things.

We don't have Memorial Day in Australia - we have ANZAC Day, which was a month ago, so yeah, I'll skip this one.

Bah, I be tired, evidentally I haven't been getting enough zzzs, I should turn in soon I guess. Except my brain deadness has resulted in no work done on my assignment today except to borrow a book on Celtic Legends in general. This better not bite me on the ass.

Now I'm watching that doco on the Duggars, apparently you can have 'Gender cakes' now, so you can find out what gender your baby will be by cutting the cake. Yum, any excuse for cake, huh?

Which reminds me I totally forgot there was this Morning Tea thing, it's for a good cause (which I can't recall right now) and I forgot to go and give a donation and all that jazz. Bummer. Ah well, what can you do?

Day 15 – Your dreams, in great detail

Well, my dreams a bizarre! Just this morning I dreamed that my big bro was trying to get a rap song on the radio or something and he was also gay (which he's not in real life), which seemed to have something to do with the lack of his success.

I've also had other weird dreams, the strangest one involved me been hit by a train and losing my left leg and right arm. Now, I was fine with this and was adapting to life until...I realised I could no longer write! (I wrote with my right hand at the time). I woke up in horror! And actually had to feel for the body parts in question just to make sure they were there! Fortunately they were. I later realised I could have just learnt to write with my left hand, but the fact remained.

I also used to have lots of strange dreams involving being trapped on a train which keeps going faster and faster until the only way I can stop from flying is to grab hold of a pool for dear life. It doesn't sound that scary but it always freaked me out.

Having said all that though, I enjoy being able to remember my dreams and hope that I'll continue to do so, my father never remembers his dreams, which is rather sad. :O(

Although I've got a feeling I may rewrite most of Chapter Four because it's really not very interesting and even though NaNoWriMo is about the word count I'd like to have something semi-passable at the end.

I'm not looking forward to the unpleasantness, last time I had to write angst in a NaNo novel it was George III's father's death and I cried like a little baby.

In other news I don't think I got enough zzzs last night, I practically fell asleep on the bus on the way over to Newtown to take inventory of the apartment and drop of the keys to the real estate agency that's going to try and rent it out to us.

This may have had to do with my phone running low on batteries and waking me up by it's beeping.

Also, I put glasses in a weird place this morning and I almost didn't find them! I practically freaked out, I totally need those. Luckily I found them, somehow they'd got into the folds of the pillow I keep on my desk chair.

In other news I'm listening to my playlist, but I've got Lateline on but muted and this is supposed to be late night news and they're doing an indepth interview with a the creator of Mad Man, which I understand is a good TV show, but it's not exactly news. Seriously WTF?

Anywho, the meme writers must be doing NaNoWriMo or otherwise distracted because no memes are up, but there's this one I didn't do last week:

In closing I had a seriously bizarre dream where I went to New York to a hotel...where I made a racist remark (?!) while checking in and end up been kept in the the reception area for ages and ages while everyone else got their rooms before me.

Then I had to go hunting for my room and I could find it, but instead saw snakes with Ralph Wiggums head on them being beheaded (?!)

Finally a busload of kids crashed into a lake and eventually I dived in to help save them along with a number of other people.

All in all this added up to a huge "WTF?" Whatever I ate last night I best avoid it in the future.

11:19pm: It's true! Today my co-worker Terry dared me to do a push-up (I can't quite remember what we were talking about to lead to this...something about how much I eat, or don't eat as the case may be!) and I couldn't! Like I couldn't even get off the ground...and then I tried a sit up, that wasn't pretty either.

And I sure as hell can't do squats...ouch!

And as I mentioned yesterday my left wrist is sore from mouse clicking.

Seriously when I do that flex your bicep thing I have no muscle in my arms, it's all spongey!

So yeah, that's a worry!

Although I'm sure all this texting I have to do while the boss is away isn't doing my wrist any favours...although it's the other wrist, so I probably can't complain.

Well, biting my nails I guess...I used to do it when I was a kid, but then my father told me that every time I did I was swallowing whatever was under them and ewww! That put me right off!

Ummm...dunno, my obsessive maybe, it's handy in ignoring my messy apartment, LOL!

A bloody weird one where people move their mouths along with you when you're speaking. OK, I've only met one person who does that, but it was extremely off putting!

Ooo a doco on planes, I love planes! Especially the 747, as I've mentioned before (and evidenced in my icon). Airbus shall never impress me!

9:59pm: Torchwood rears its head again! Sort of...I'm watching Bargain Hunt, and they like to visit places when there, so they've gone to Cardiff Castle, where they filmed a scene from Exit Wounds.

Although, it also has a George III connection...kinda...one of the owners of the Castle was a descendant of George III's friend Lord Bute, who interestingly enough was Scottish, not Welsh, so why his descendant was hanging out there beats me!

Hmmm, not much going on, except I had a bizzare dream last night that started with Torchwood - duh - before moving to people I know and a New Year's Eve party and then to some sort of gender-bending thing with this pyschotic kid who I think was trying to kill me. WTF?

Whatever I've been eating I might need to stop! I had an even more bizarre dream on Monday night, but I neglected to write it down. Whoops.

10:32pm: Before I got a laptop I wrote long hand basically all the time, so much in fact I had a permanent callous on my my middle finger. I no longer have the callous, since apart from anything else I swapped hands and now write with my left.

Anywho, the point is I don't write longhand all that often, but I've been doing it lately for various reason and fuck man, does my wrist hurt like a bitch. I hope it's not carpal tunnel syndrome. Although checking the Wikipedia entry it seems not, carpal tunnel makes your fingers hurt, not your wrist. I suppose I can chalk this up to the way I hold my writing instrument, not mention my weak ass finger muscles. It's called Dyspraxia and it sucks.

Anywho, I'm sure you don't want to hear me bitch on about this, so instead let's have some memes!

Man, I think I need to try and find one of my wrist bandages, since I have used them years ago, they do tend to get a bit itchy after a while, but oww.

6:25pm: It's called that because it pisses you the hell off!

I was in terrible pain this morning and couldn't even eat my yogurt, my breakfast consisted of a banana.

Then I drove to work in some pain, spent most of the morning in pain and almost wigged out driving to get lunch.

However, I was able to eat lunch, and I felt a lot better...I ask you, what the deuce?! Not to mention the chocolate crackles my co-worker brought in.

Then I felt awful again and almost decided to go to my parents house rather than come back to the apartment...but I have to go through my Box Thing, so I came back and I'm feeling OK.

Seriously, WTF?! I want a refund on my digestive system.

I had a dream last night in which I got fired by my boss because my mother told him I'd been surfing on the internet! Mum's revenge for me not picking her up last night perhaps? The weird thing was that I was running around trying to get these cheques cashed at the bank, but it was taking sooo long. Then when I got back to the boss's house it was a construction site. Which isn't that out of place because next door to the boss's place is a construction site, which is a complete schamoozle as the guy who owns the house doesn't know shit.

Anyway, as mentioned, I have to start going through the Box Thing as part of my epic clean, so I better go down there sooner rather than later. I might call Mum before I go down, because I can't take my mobile down there because it doesn't work.
