11:33pm: Yes indeed! And I think Mum's right, oil heaters really do stop moisture from forming, which is a damn good thing because as I might have mentioned before I've been having trouble with that, like when I wake up in the morning there's so much moisture on the inside of my windows you could get a glass of water from it! It's also having an unfortunate effect of causing mould to appear in my pantry. Gross.

The only downside, I don't think this heater I got has a timer on it and I don't think I should leave it on all night...although maybe it'll work with the timer switch thing...

Also it's meant to have four little wheels, I didn't notice until I got it home that there's only three. I'm having to jack it up using an old glasses case. I got it from the Target at Macquarie Mall (it was ice skating day today :O), so I dunno. I guess I could go to the Target at the Warringah Mall and return it or at least ask for fourth wheel LOL.

Anyway! I have exciting news from the big bro, my parents timing was awesome, he and my sister-in-law, Eri had their baby, it's a boy! They've called him John after Dad (and Dad's grandfather, I think). Which is interesting, because I'm not sure if John can be transliterated into Japanes, I guess he could be 'Jon'. Scratches head.

In other news, ice skating went well! Although I think I'm not used to harder ice, I got them sharpened last week and while I did move better today, it was still a bit scratchy. In the summer the ice is softer because of the sun (or maybe because the ice rink was old? They've renovated) and the blade seems to dig in better. Also they are playing ice hockey there now and if I remember right, ice hockey players prefer harder ice. Dang, don't know what this means for me.

What else? Well tomorrow is the play! So I get the day off work tomorrow, nice :O). I'm planning to go to the gym because I totally slacked off on that this week! Aside from that the day is pretty much free until 3:30 when I go to my Aunt and Uncle's place to get ready to head off. The play starts at 5pm in the city and afterwards we'll go out to dinner. I'm looking forward to it.

That's pretty much all I have to say for now...I'm going to try and catch up on my Positive Notes because I've totally slacked off and need to catch up on three months worth of them! o.O I hope I can!

For now though I bid you all goodnight!

11:02pm: Right now they're showing the ice show Plushy - and a bunch of other fabulous skaters - is in and I can't find a way to stream it. Boooo! Russian TV is really nice about this sort of thing (or perhaps they're trying to lull me into a false sense of security so they can hack my computer only to be severely disappointed by its content), but Japanese TV is a black hole when it comes to this kind of thing. Oh well, here's hoping some of it ends up on YouTube or whatever.

In other news, I'm confused as to why it's kind of too hot under the doona, but too cold outside the doona. WTF is this? Very annoying.

Moving on, I just realised the other day that I've been forgetting to write my positive note of the day! I'm supposed to be doing that so at the end of the year I can look back and see all the good things that happened in the year. I really must get back on it. I'm not sure if I should try to catch up on the days I missed though...my updates on Dreamwidth aren't really that descriptive so I might not be able to remember! I guess it could be good brain exercise.

Anyway! Work was weird today...in that mid-way through the shift the Librarian on Duty disappeared into the children's area I later discovered that some kid had thrown up down there and the poor Librarian had had to clean it up!!! OMG, I am so fucking glad I didn't get asked to do that, because let me just say no way, no way in Hell. I'd probably let myself get fired first.

Seriously though, the parent probably should have dealt with that, but I think they took the kid home which I guess is fair enough. Suffice to say I didn't go and shelve anything in that area after that.

And I gotta haul butt now, it's bedtime, but I haven't done my Russian yet! At least my writing is going well, yaay! :O)

On that note, goodnight!

11:25pm: Damnit, despite having cleaned the kitchen sink and whatnot any time I leave something out that's not completely rinsed and cleaned off a hoard of motherfucking ants invades! Now I guess this just means I should clean everything up, but I did rinse it pretty well...and my dishwasher was full so I couldn't put the saucepan in there.

Also, I'm most annoyed by the fact my ant baits don't seem to be working. Although...maybe they've just run out of...er...poison stuff, I think they only last for three months and I've had them for longer than that. Or maybe I should try and get the spray...

Except, I haven't got my card yet, so right now I only have fifteen bucks or so to my name at least until the bank card arrives or I go to the bank to withdraw cash. Except, I don't think I'd be able to get to said bank, it is open on Saturdays' but I'm pretty sure if closes before I finish work.

Anyway, I'm sure you don't really care about ants...but I don't have much more to say...except I made a bit of a mistake today when I was doing the laundry - I forgot about my car key in my pocket so it went through the machine! No wonder there was so much noise! I think the key has survived, the little light on it still goes off when I press the buttons. Also, I have just remembered that unlike my mother's car key I can still use this one like an actual key so even if it is dead or the battery is screwed up I can still get in my car to drive to work tomorrow!

Speaking of which, I've totally stayed up too late this week which is really no good for me, so I should actually get to bed at a reasonable hour tonight! And this time I still have to finish up on my Russian before I turn in! So...

Goodnight all!

11:36pm: Ha ha, as you can see I obviously didn't have a title to go for this entry, but h ey it is what it is.

Anywho, today was a regular working at the library on a Sunday day, except for when I got a hair on my tongue which almost made me gag. Ugh, it was awful! I have no idea where it came from, though I'm pretty sure it was at least mine. Still gross.

Also, I got a phone call from M inviting me to come over on Tuesday - my birthday - for canasta and yummy food! Hooray! Although, one of my friends did get back to me about doing something on Tuesday, so whoops. Although I guess technically I could do something after finishing with M an Grandpa, but I have work the next day so...

Speaking of work, once again I've left updating the ol' journal too late for meme related sheninigans. Ugh, dang it! Didn't help I got distracted by House Hunters International, I'm still wondering why this couple with a kid wants a one bedroom. Surely you'd want two in that case? Although I guess they don't have the money or maybe just have the kid sleep in the loungeroom. Still weird to me, though. :OP

I also went to Church after work today, which was a good thing because they needed me to do the Powerpoint, although Dad managed to forget that it was Sunday and thus didn't show up! Poor Dad. :OP However, I'm over here at the parental abode because that's how I roll on Sunday nights. Also Mum told me to come and fix up the doona in the spare room. To my confusion the doona appears to be fine? Maybe Dad fixed it, seems like something he'd do.

Righto, I better head off now, I didn't get enough sleep last night because I did not go to bed early after all (shame on me!) and I have to take my External harddrive to the computer repair shop and get to the gym tomorrow and maybe come back here to help Dad move furniture because the carpet's getting steam cleaned on Tuesday.

And now, goodnight all!

11:32pm: OK, that's hopefully inaccurate, but when I woke up this morning despite high hopes it wasn't long after I started walking around that the stabbing soreness in my right heel returned and I was hobbling around. Gawd, I dunno how the Little Mermaid in the original Hans Christen Anderson tale put up with the sensation for any amount of time let alone three days. She had it both feet!

What I'm saying is it feels like a knife jabbing into my heel. It did decrease a little while at work, which was a good thing, since it would have been way too late to tell Mrs S I couldn't come in! Afterwards though I drove right to Dee Why Medical Centre and managed to get in to see a doctor in about half an hour.

He gave my foot a few pokes and prods and diagnosed me plantar facsiitis after all. Shiiiiit. The treatment, rest, stretches and some anti-inflammatories which will hopefully kick in by tomorrow, otherwise I'm not sure what to do re: going to the fireworks. I just briefly though I could take the light weight scooter my parents were keeping in their carport for M, but I'm pretty sure it's not there anymore. Also...I have no idea how to drive one of those and I'd probably end up driving into a bush or a hole or something.

In other news, there appears to be a cockroach infestation in my kitchen, gross! I put out a bait before I left the other day, but it doesn't seem to be keeping them at bay, so I've put out another one near the dishwasher where they seem to disappear when I turned on the kitchen light and they scurried away. On the plus side the ant bait seems to have worked.

In less gross news, I got my laundry done, which is good, but there's some stains that didn't come out of a few items, which is bad. I should probably get some stain removal things instead of always relying on Dad to do it for me, LOL.

And I was sort of hoping I could make a dent into the Memes which I've been neglecting again, but I guess that ain't gonna happen tonight and probably not tomorrow either, so I guess that'll have to happen in the new year!

For now though, I bid you all goodnight!

11:57pm: Yes indeedy! And we're watching International House Hunters together! And she also bought me a present of sorts. She managed to forget to back her toothbrush and what not so needed to buy another one and she saw a Garfield one in green!

So, she bought it and gave it to me, sweeet! Although I probably won't end up using it as I'm set for toothbrushes.

I also spent this evening watching the mens and womens free programs at the Cup of China - which was full of thrills and spills, but I'm pleased to say there was no bad mouthing of Plushy (there was only one British Eurosport guy commentating today though so I guess it would have been weird to bitch to himself, also the other skater did OK in his program so there wasn't really any point in bitching) but more excitingly my favourite ladies skater and one of my favourite men got bronze medals! Hooray!

Although seeing as I'm here at the parental house I'm not sure I should have watched the live stream, I sure hope I didn't eat up all their bandwidth!

Also I'm very happy to report I found my lunchbox! It turned out there was a cupboard in the library kitchen I hadn't noticed before, there were lots of empty containers in it and one of them was my lunchbox! Oh thank goodness, I was feeling quite bummed about that.

Anyway, I better wrap this up and hit the hay, I didn't get nearly enough sleep last night and also had the unpleasant experience of being woken up by heartburn and reflux, yuk. But hopefully things will go better tonight!

11:36pm: I'm not sure what to do about it...I think I've got some spray but I'm not sure if it'll actually work on moths and I don't want to spray a whole heap of it around if it's not.

Moving on to Tank Update, it's cleared up a bit more and I've moved the filter further down into the water, although after going to the PetStock at Mona Vale after work with Mrs S today I thought that I'd actually put it the wrong way up in the filter holder thing and that's why it was making noise. As it turned out that was a different type of filter, I've taken the hook off so as I said it's lower in the water and it's a bit quieter now. I think that's just how it is. If things keep clearing up and the water test is good I can get a Betta fish next week. Yay.

What else to report? I did get to the gym today! Which is good because that means I've caught up there, plus it's always good to work out. Yay!

Not Cool...

Feb. 9th, 2016 10:56 pm
anonymoose_au: (Whoops)
10:34pm: What's not cool? Well, firstly even though I've been very careful with my acne treatment cream my new Garfield nightshirt has faded a bit on the back! Son of a... I suppose I'll have to live with the damage so far and just not wear it until I finish up the cream. Although, I'm not sure how long that'll be...

Also not cool, today I felt quite icky, which resulted in me skipping the gym today, which I was most disappointed about. It was even worse when I realised what the cause probably was...the cheese I used on my pizza last night was mouldy! I actually knew this and thought that throwing out the effected bits would keep me safe, but as the internet informed me this was not the case. Not to mention when I took the leftover pizza out of the fridge and saw a spot of green on it. Ugh.

I've thrown the shredded cheese and the pizza out, which truly sucks. And of course, I was left rather anxious and troubled in the abdominal area for the rest of the day, so yeah. Damn shredded cheese, I never get through it fast enough and have to throw it out. Maybe I should buy the smaller packets available at Coles rather than trying to save money with Aldi.

Anyway, I didn't take anything to the new granny flat today either, which is not cool either because once Thursday rolls around I'll be working at the library which will kind of eat into moving time, so lucky for me I got that extra week. Although, I probably would have made a bigger push if I didn't have that time.

And finally, in the 'not cool' list, I've dilly-dallyed on applying for the library job and now I've only got tomorrow left to do so! Damn! That's cutting it close, but I guess that's what I get. :OP

Also...I didn't get enough zzzs, which has probably not helped my overall sense of health, so I shall be turning in now.

Tomorrow, I'll be meeting Mum at the new place to set up the shelves for the baskets so wish me lots of luck!

8:49pm: That's the question this program about treating OCD has me asking. I mean, I can see the point of touching the toilet and then not washing your hands for a while, but actually licking them? What if you got sick from it? That'd set back your progress for sure! Also...who does that? Does being able to lick your hands after touching a toilet really essential to day to day living?

But the dude who can only open the washing machine with his foot obviously needs some help with that.

Really though, don't lick your hands, it's a really bad habit to get into.

In other news, I made some purchases today, a new thinner doona - because I like to sleep under one, but it's just too hot and a new quilt cover set, it has a New York-like cityscape on it. Sophisticated! :OP Well, at least when you compare it to the My Little Pony quilt cover I had before, LOL.

What else to report, well the Citroen I was looking at was sold before I could find out much about it. Dang... Oh well, I didn't really want to go all the way out to Campbelltown anyway, also I'd never be able to show it on Facebook because my friend would see it and probably be hurt or it would at least be awkward. So the saving of money will continue and perhaps I'll be able to get the Getz in December if no-one's snapped it up before then.

Anyway! I'm updating a bit earlier in a bid to make these entries actually make sense rather than just be a whole lot of rambling or at least rambling that doesn't make any sense, LOL. It also gives me time to do the memes!

11:16pm: Yep! I filled in for the other carer this morning, it went all right, I kind of forgot the proper order of somethings, though! Honestly, I don't know what to make of my brain sometimes, it can be so scattered!

Although, part of that could have been the result of the less than stellar sleep I got last night, my thoughts were full of the green Hyundai Getz, wondering if my parents would give me a loan. Also, I managed to do something with my doona and it ended all twisted up and thus I was not properly covered so woke up at like 5am freezing my person off. I've straightened it up now so hopefully tonight I'll sleep way better.

As for the loan, alas, it is not to be, since Dad only just got his new car it's not like there's any great need for me to get my own car, even if it is perfect for me, sniff. I can only hope against hope that I can keep saving and perhaps the car will stick around and maybe even the price will go down a little. Mum thinks I should be patient and surely a nice car will pop up eventually, but I dunno...I've never seen a green Hyundai Getz automatic, they all seemed to be manual (on top of been in WA LOL).

In other rather gross news, I seem to have developed a bit of athlete's foot on my left foot, between the little toe and the one next to it. It started hurting me just before I had to head off to church so I was kind of limping around. I bought some spray to treat it, which will hopefully work quickly! Apparently, in addition to this you're supposed to keep your shoes off to air your feet, which is the last thing one wants to do during the winter! And also wear thongs in public showers...except I hate thongs, they annoy the bit between my big toe and second toe. I think I have a pair of slip sandals though, I'll have to check that out.

Anyway, I need to head to bed as soon as I finish this entry because tomorrow is Mack's birthday party and I need to get to the Mall to get my hair straightened beforehand, the party starts at noon so ideally I need to get to the hairdresser's by ten because I also want a trim and my hair takes ages to straighten because it's so thick.

Before I go though...Memes!

The Other Side

What do non-reader friends think about your reading habits? Do they understand? Are they sympathetic? Or are they always trying to get you to “get your nose out of that book?”

Well, I don't really have non-reader friends, or if I do they don't comment, however! My parents certainly do, more so when I was younger when I was often told to "get my nose out of that book". Honestly, the attitude still confuses me to this day because the parents of my friends at the time were always telling them to read, and there I was doing it for fun. Pft, the grass is always greener...

1. What memories do you have of an old-fashioned general store? Uh...I dunno if I have any, I don't think I've patronised any old-fashioned general stores in my time. They don't really have them in Australia. There were milk bars and corner shops, and I generally remember them as been quite dark and small, but plenty of chocolate options!

2. What’s something people think incorrectly of your home state (or country) but still contains a kernel of truth? That we all talk like Steve Irwin, we don't, but we do use "mate" quite a lot and shorten people's names by adding 'o' at the end.

3. What are the major differences between you and your best (non-romantic) friend? I have more than one best friend! But probably the volume of our voices. Most of my friends have normal volume...not so much me.

4. What’s something you were the captain of? Er...gee...I dunno. I don't think I was ever captain of anything! Not even when team captains were randomly selected in PE!

5. What’s the story of your first private moment with a high-school romantic interest? N/A. :OP

Star Gazing!

1. What is your fondest memory of something related to the stars or space? Uh...scratches head...I can't really think of anything. Well maybe a group project in Year Six that involved building a model spaceship, I got on well with my team and we made a pretty good model!

2. What is a celestial body that you find particularly interesting? Saturn! First there's the rings and second the fact it's so gaseous and light it would float in a bathtub, if there was one big enough.

3. When you look at the night sky, what thoughts cross your mind? Nice, especially if it's clear and you can see the moon, To be honest though, when I was out in the country with no light pollution the number of stars I could see were positive dizzying, I didn't like that at all.

4. Have you ever seen anything weird or inexplicable up there? Nope, at least, I don't think so.

5. Would you live in space or on another planet? Maybe if I can pring my family along, but just by myself? No, I'd get way too lonely!

Right, better go now! I have to whip cream for the cupcakes I've made for Mack's birthday before I hit the hay.

11:40pm: Well, I think you can guess what went down today...it starts with "time" and ends with "month" and as is typical with this BS it didn't show up this morning before I left for work, oh no, it had to show up in like the middle of work.

Suffice to say I've never actually asked to use the toilet at work since I'm only there for three hours and it is someone's personal bathroom and it didn't occur to me to do so today. I was originally going to go to the gym after work, since it is gym day, however, I decided for the good of my clothing that I needed to go back to the flat, especially when I ended up having to work for an additional hour.

Anyway, I'm sure you all wanted to read that :OP but seriously that sucked...and Facebook reminded me that the GST applies to feminine protection (as my mother would call it), but no to condoms, which is bull-shit. Women don't buy that stuff for fun. Anyway, I signed a petition to send to the Tax Review Board about that.

Poetry

It seems like I’m always asking about actual books … but what about poetry? Do you read it? Write it? Like it? Not like it? Do you prefer song lyrics? (Because we can all agree there’s a relation between poems and lyrics, right?)

Not really, primarily because reading poems that don't rhyme gives me no end of trouble about how the rhythm of the words are supposed to be...And with poems that do rhyme I tend to read like a limmerick or something.

I have enjoyed some poems though...and I do like to write poems sometimes...

As for song lyrics, I have tried to write new song lyrics to other tunes, LOL, but nothing I'd ever share! :OP

And that's pretty much all I have to say for today...the tenant's daughter and I are meeting tomorrow so she can hand the keys back, I wonder if she might have done something with the dusty bathroom...I guess I'll see!

10:32pm: Something seriously terrible, no doubt because I was woken up way too early and actually got out of bed before deciding to go back to sleep for a few more hours and thus waking up in the middle of a sleep stage, which as I've discovered is a totally bad idea.

It also might be from my allergies, that flared up to a ridiculously degree today when I was down on the floor looking for one of my mini-screwdrivers under the couch. Not only did I not find it I ended up sneezing and coughing with my nose running so much I had to take a Clartyne, I was honestly surprised I had some. Anyway, it's supposed to be a non-drowsy formula, but apparently it can occur, so...that might be the case with me.

Or worst of all...I could be getting a cold, I sincerely hope not because technically I don't think I'm supposed to go to work in that case, because the person I work for is suscepitible to pneumonia, so I shouldn't expose her to viruses.

Whatever the case, it really sucks that didn't even manage to find the tiny screwdriver! D: I'm worried I might have vaccuumed it up when I was cleaning the other day. I have the other two that come with the set but it's still a bit of a blow.

Also, I felt so icky I almost wanted to skip church all together, but I soldiered on and felt better for it.

But Hell, am I tired and I have to get my ass to bed, tomorrow is the get together and I need to be clear in the head for that. I made the blueberry muffins as requested by Mum, although I'm kind of worried they might not be right, and the first batch might be a bit overcooked. Plus a few of them have burnt bottoms! 11:42pm: Well, it's difficult because I've definitely been reading this book for hours, but I'm not all that certain it's because it's compulsive reading. It's more like a train wreck of sorts - don't you hate it when a author goes off the rails? Because it seems Patricia Cornwell has...or hopefully did and is back on track somewhat now. Those books started off so well, but the last few I've read have been a mess both character and plotwise...at the same time, it's not like the writing is horrible, but it's just really convoluted and I don't know why Cornwell would commit character assassination on her own characters. What's up with that?

Anyway, since I'm sure you, my journal friends, have read these books, so enough about that.

It turned out to be a rather busy day for me, I headed out to the gym and ended up having to turn around and go back out once I got home because I discovered the bread I bought just two days ago had gone mouldy, seriously WTF? That was probably my mistake, but the nice people at Coles agreed to exchange it for me, so I had to go down and do that - only just managing to get the bus - big thanks to the bus driver there. I also went looking at the Salvos since I had time before the bus that would get me back home and found some new tan shorts and a green shirt with those little holes I mentioned before, I'm going to wear it on Friday and hopefully that will keep me from sweating like I do when I'm working out!

I've just remembered that I probably shouldn't stay up to watch this very interesting doco because I have an appointment tomorrow morning and need to get up for that! I guess I'll have to record it tomorrow or something, because it really is quite interesting, it's about people who have had the amazing ability to forgive those who have committed crimes against them or people they love. Can you imagine that? Not only that they became friends.

Right better head off to bed now, goodnight all!

10:54pm: Maaaybe, I went and saw the lady at her house today to discuss the carer's position - she's very nice, and it sounds like a good position except for one thing...as part of her personal care some toilet related stuff is necessary. That was pretty much the thing I avoided when I did the one week placement for my course, not so much because I think it's beneath me or something, but because I'm not sure about my visceral reactions to such a thing. I mean I certainly wouldn't want to offend by making a horrified face or something, but I feel like I might not be able to help it. And this is a bit more involved that I thought it would be...I should probably spare you all the details though. :OP

Anyway, tomorrow I'm going for a trial with the current carer so I'll get to see how everything is done and whether I can hack it or not, I better decided quickly though, because I don't want to jerk the lady around. She can't start her day without a carer to help in the morning, so if I can't hack it I better step out of the way so someone else can do it.

Of course, all this is complicated by the fact that I called the lead my aunt gave me, another nice chap who told me to send in my resume and then a meeting could be arranged to see about getting me some work through his firm. I have no idea though, if it's a sure thing - like they have positions that need to be filled with clients or what. I guess I'll have to wait until we can meet, hopefully this week...

Finally, there's the library job! Which if my calculations are correct I can expect to hear a yay or nay for the interview stage on Monday. But it could be longer, who the Hell knows?

And this is why job hunting is so difficult, if you get more than one job at once how do you turn down one without sounding like a dick? Or worse, if you get one job, but then you get another one, the one you really want how do you quit the first one without being an ass? I suppose some would say if employers don't owe you a living then you don't owe them anything, but I'm so bad at that, I get anxious and will probably start crying and just generally feeling like a shit.

But, I suppose I shouldn't get ahead of myself, for one thing, maybe I'll be OK with this carer stuff - I did mostly all right at the Aged Care Facility, even with bodily functions limited my exposure to it was.

Anway, I should probably hit the hay, the hours are usually 8:30am to 11:30am, but tomorrow for my trial we have to start at 8am, so I need to be up at 7, so yeah, need that shut eye.

Wish me luck though! Being gainfully employed is what I'm aiming for after all, and hey helping someone is a good job to have.

For now, goodnight!

11:22pm: I keep sticking to my couch - gross, but true. Damn, not very comfortable let me tell you. I guess I should turn the air conditioner back on, I didn't think I needed it, buut...

In unrelated news, I decided to change my mobile phone's ringtone today, I've had the "Help! Help! I can't get out! I can't get out of the pocket! Help me, mister!" one for some years now and while I do love it, first of all, I never get to the "Help me, mister!" part before it goes to voicemail and second of all, it keeps freaking people out because of the "Help, help! I can't get out!" part, which proves to be quite awkward. So, now I'm using the theme to Back to the Future and man, I can't believe I haven't tried that before! It sounds so epic! I have decided to use my last icon space to upload my Back to the Future icon. Ah, takes me back.

I had something else to say, but I've forgotten what it was now...oh wait now I do! I was prompted to make this ringtone change when I missed a phone call this morning. It went to voice mail, so I called my voice mail to hear it and discovered another message from my friend in New York, only she's back here in Australia for a few weeks! Why was I left uninformed about this? Damn you, voice mail service! I waited a bit before calling since I woke up at 8:30, but I had to leave a message with her mother, but eventually I got onto her. How exciting! She's going to be here for my birthday, I really must have a party where the inflatable Scrabble board can get some use - only I think said board is back at Newtown...damn. I'll have to investigate that, I can at least use that picnic set I won at the gym...I'm thinking the beach might be nice.

And with a bit of difficult I managed to schedule my IPL and eyebrow wax for tomorrow afternoon, so that's good, because otherwise I'd never get it done before Christmas.

Speaking of doing things before Christmas, Centrelink has decided to be an asshat, by telling me I need to report today, but then making it impossible to do so by having technical difficulties with their app and online report thing. Bloody hopeless.

It better work tomorrow, because I need that money by the end of this week otherwise I'll have to take even more money out of my savings to cover my rent! I suppose I can just put the money back in once I'm paid, but I'd rather not.

10:24pm: It's stopped working and wants me to reset the router, but it's too late at night for that and now I have to do this update on my mobile. Damnit Telstra make a decent wireless router! Maybe that'swhatneeds to be done... I guess I could bring that up.

In other news I think there's a leak in one of the walls of the Granny Flat, specifically the one in the bedroom area. An area of carpet is damp and also smells gross. Fuuuuck, that sucks too! I don't know for sure though I'll have to go outside tomorrow morning and see if there's anything untoward about the wall.

Anyway the day wasn't a total suck fest, I had fun at the Volunteer Thank You Afternoon Tea, it's nice to know I'm making a good impression on people and doing a good job. We even got a nice card and decadently boxed chocolate.

Now I'm gonna wrap this up here, I've been going to bed too late the past couple of days so I should try to correct that.

Wish me luck with the wall issue tomorrow!

Goodnight all!

11:37pm: With regards to catching up on NaNo, primarily because when I got home this afternoon after going to the library, then the gym and pool, and then having to wait for the bus for quite a while (although that did give me time to buy some shorts and trousers from Lifeline) I ended up with a terrible headache, which morphed into a very uncomfortable stomachache. Maybe it was the heat of today, I better be careful tomorrow because it's supposed to be even hotter tomorrow!

Anyway, the headache seemed impervious to Nurofen, but the stomachache oddly enough went away after I ate dinner, sausages, which is just weird because one usually doesn't consider sausages a good food for that sort of thing. But apparently my body is stupid.

Anywho, the point is, I didn't get anywhere near as much writing as I hoped to do, I still haven't broken the 50% mark yet, boo, although I like to think I still did a good job today especially considering the other issue that cropped up...Namely that the spacebar 'm' and comma key has stopped working on my laptop keyboard, I've had to plug in a USB keyboard. I tried restarting and giving the keyboard a bit of a clean with a small paint brush but it's still not working, this is not good at all :O( I hope this isn't a sign that my laptop is starting to die, I don't have money to replace it!

Well, the USB keyboard will have to do for now and here's my stats at this minute...

23710 / 50000 words. 47% done!

Heh, hey look! 47...;O) a good Backie number, nice.

And now, I better wrap this up, more library volunteering calls tomorrow!

Wish me luck with catching up on NaNo.

Oh and I almost forgot...there was a bit of horror story this morning when I discovered a whole lot of ants had got into my water cooler dispenser! I hate ants, I really do so this freaked me out quite a bit. I unplugged it, took it outside and hosed it down to get rid of them since I could hardly use insect spray on something I'm going to drink out of, so here's hoping they don't come back

11:34pm: Who used up all that bandwidth on my Grandpa's internet, however, it's not as bad as all that because as it turns out the cycle is from the 22nd of the month, not the end of the month. So he shouldn't run out of bandwidth, especially since he doesn't download that much stuff. Phew! Still, I really dropped the ball on that one, I should have known there was going to be trouble as soon as stuff started downloading on the Sims game. Shakes head, not cool me, not cool.

In other news, M once again proved her status as Canasta Queen, but coming back from the jaws of defeat to snatch victory from me in our game! We started up a new one, but only got one hand done before it was lunch time. But hey a good reason for me to come back and defend my honour. :O)

Lunch turned out to be...er...interesting. M and Grandpa had crumbed cow brains with bacon and salad, and I had a pork sausage with bacon and salad. However, the grandparents insisted I try some of the brains, and...it was groooosss. Ugh! The texture, the taste, so disgusting. I almost spat it out, but I could hardly to that so I had to take a huge gulp of water.

Always be open to try things my ass, worst of all I had this weird sensation in my mouth for hours. Yeah, definitely not going to be trying that again.

After lunch I hung out for a bit reading The Women's Weekly until it was time to catch my bus to Neutral Bay so I could go to church, which I did in good time and that was lucky because the laptop was acting strange, not reading the USB stick the organist had brought in with the PowerPoints on it. I had to restart it to get it to work. Unfortunately, somehow the organist had put the wrong hymns in the PowerPoint, so no-one in the congregation knew what to sing for the entrance hymn! I quickly typed up the words of the other hymn, but not enough of them, so...again the congregation was left hanging. Pft.

Got the bus back here to the flat in good time, although I didn't really have a proper dinner. Shame on me. I did have a carrot though, always good. :O) And played more Sims 4! I haven't got used to the new interface completely, and haven't seen what's the whole career thing is like, but hopefully I'll get a chance to do that tomorrow. And show you all the photos of the goodies I got as part of my Collector's Box Set. The plumbob USB thing is fabulous!

And...I've just noticed the time! Yikes, almost midnight, I better wrap this up because bed is calling, tomorrow is Father's Day and Mum, Dad, little bro and I are going out somewhere.

So, I shall be off! Goodnight all!

10:29pm: Although it was rather amusingly told, so I guess I'll let it slide. Plus it was on TV an hour ago now, so if I was really pissed off about it I'd have mentioned it before now.

The rest of the comedy show was most hilarious though, so I'm cool, I'm cool.

In other news, the car situation is not so dire anymore, for one thing, M has decided not to go to the Book Club tomorrow after all and for another, Mum and Dad have decided - I think - to let me drive the BMW. Although Dad might still be going for the manual...crap. Do not want! :OP

And...I am sleepy, sooo sleepy. I could have sworn I got a decent amount of sleep last night, but I guess not?

And work was a slight schmoozle today, the Lotto people were supposed to do a system upgrade last night, but surprise, surprise they fucked that shit up and when I got in at 10:30 the systems all around the state were still down, five hours late! Apparently it was meant to be back up by noon, but nope. At about 2:30 things seemed to be working again, but only for about five seconds and then the machine wouldn't even let us log in! But finally at about 3pm, nearly 12 hours after it was supposed to come back up, it started working again! So for most of the day my co-worker and I had to explain the situation, because people can't read signs.

People were starting to get a bit antsy by the end of the day, which seems to indicate some gambling issues with our society at large, but yeah...

Oh! And the weirdest thing of all, my drink bottle showed up! I swear St Anthony is totally screwing with me, because it definitely wasn't there on Sunday. Unless I'm going blind or something, or maybe I really am that unobservant!

And finally, I've got off my ass in terms of that Life Coaching thing my Aunt told me about a couple of months ago. Hopefully this will help me score a job, because right now things are looking pretty dire. Although I still need to try my luck with networking - follow up that lead given to me by a woman I spoke to after church. I'll keep you all informed!

Now though, I need sleepy times, gotta be ready to hit the ground running tomorrow...

And oh! The plumbers came this morning before I had to be at work and as it turned out they didn't even need to come up to the hot water heater thing in the storage area. However, Mum and I didn't know that, so she got me to finally clean my bedroom up! Oh yeaaah. It's looking good and here's hoping I can keep it that way!

For now, though, goodnight!

10:20pm: From carrying my baskets up the stairs to the top bedroom here at the parental units. Which is probably why I've procrastinated so much and there's still several more to be dragged up there. Ah damn, I have to get them up there before the cleaning man comes tomorrow and the last few times he's come super early - well before 10am. So yeah, I better do this entry and finish doing that...and also clean up the kitchen before I hit the sack.

In other news, I went out today to look for 3/4 jeans to replace my old ones that sadly gave up the ghost, but no joy! I eventually ended up at the Vinnies in Chatswood, where a couple of weeks ago I saw those motarboards, there was one left and it was 20 bucks, but what they Hell! I'll get a pic of me in it tomorrow for you're amusement :OP

And here's the Meme for today!

Re-Rereading Books

I’ve asked before if you re-read your books (feel free to recap), but right now I want to know if that habit has changed? Did you, for example, reread more as a child and your access to new books was limited by how often you could convince your mother to take you to the library? Has the economy affected your access so that you’re forced to reread more often now? Have you grown to look at old books as old friends so that you’re happy to spend time with them rather than rushing the next new thing?

Hmmm, well I have been reading quite a few new books as of late, but I do enjoy re-reading things, which is why I don't want to give up any of my books like my mother keeps suggesting I do! Hmpf! Although I do admittedly have a few books that I haven't actually read yet...need to get onto that.

There's also been an update on the Malaysian Airlines plane, some debris has been a couple of thousand kilometres off the coast of West Australia. Big debris too...there's several ships heading out towards it, so fingers crossed that it doesn't disappear before they do and we can find out one way or another.

And I'm watching the most bizarre show ever about a man with a terrible condition in the genital area. Believe you me, this is some crazy shit...He finally got it taken care of last year, but alas recently died from unrelated causes just a week or so ago. Shame. After all that.

A lesson to be learned from this story? The US medical system is bullshit if you don't have insurance. Embrace Obamacare yo.

Right better head off, those baskets won't move themselves unfortunately.

Goodnight all.
