11:33pm: Yes indeed! And I think Mum's right, oil heaters really do stop moisture from forming, which is a damn good thing because as I might have mentioned before I've been having trouble with that, like when I wake up in the morning there's so much moisture on the inside of my windows you could get a glass of water from it! It's also having an unfortunate effect of causing mould to appear in my pantry. Gross.

The only downside, I don't think this heater I got has a timer on it and I don't think I should leave it on all night...although maybe it'll work with the timer switch thing...

Also it's meant to have four little wheels, I didn't notice until I got it home that there's only three. I'm having to jack it up using an old glasses case. I got it from the Target at Macquarie Mall (it was ice skating day today :O), so I dunno. I guess I could go to the Target at the Warringah Mall and return it or at least ask for fourth wheel LOL.

Anyway! I have exciting news from the big bro, my parents timing was awesome, he and my sister-in-law, Eri had their baby, it's a boy! They've called him John after Dad (and Dad's grandfather, I think). Which is interesting, because I'm not sure if John can be transliterated into Japanes, I guess he could be 'Jon'. Scratches head.

In other news, ice skating went well! Although I think I'm not used to harder ice, I got them sharpened last week and while I did move better today, it was still a bit scratchy. In the summer the ice is softer because of the sun (or maybe because the ice rink was old? They've renovated) and the blade seems to dig in better. Also they are playing ice hockey there now and if I remember right, ice hockey players prefer harder ice. Dang, don't know what this means for me.

What else? Well tomorrow is the play! So I get the day off work tomorrow, nice :O). I'm planning to go to the gym because I totally slacked off on that this week! Aside from that the day is pretty much free until 3:30 when I go to my Aunt and Uncle's place to get ready to head off. The play starts at 5pm in the city and afterwards we'll go out to dinner. I'm looking forward to it.

That's pretty much all I have to say for now...I'm going to try and catch up on my Positive Notes because I've totally slacked off and need to catch up on three months worth of them! o.O I hope I can!

For now though I bid you all goodnight!

I Got Game!

Dec. 3rd, 2016 11:36 pm

11:18pm: Yes indeed! This evening I went over to Uncle Sam, Aunt Jo and Cousin Mack's with my Simpsons DVDs and ready to play Scrabble!

As it happened we didn't end up playing Scrabble because Mack had a friend over for the night, so we had to play a game that was more of interest to them, which turned out to be a game that I can no longer remember the name of...Oh dear. It's like an Aussie version of Monopoly where you're a sheep farmer and them aim of the game is to get five irrigated paddocks full of sheep. Unfortunately, it didn't go all that well for me, I ended up with no sheep at all! Like Monopoly it took a lot of time to play. Mack and his friend played as a team and we almost declared the game done because it looked like they were going to win, but Mack's friend wanted the satisfaction of actually winning, so we continued...for a lot longer, because they kept missing out on the right spot (you could only buy or sell sheep when you landed on a square called "Stock Sale") and Aunt Jo almost stole the win! But alas she kept getting taxed...just like real life, LOL.

Meanwhile, Uncle Sam kept missing turns because it kept landing on "Go to town" - which I guess is the "Jail" equivalent. As for me...like I said not very good luck I kept going into drought or not able to buy any sheep and losing my sheep etc. etc.

Anyway, I'll have to go back some other time for the Scrabble!

On my way home I popped into this amazingly decorated house near Jo, Sam and Mack's place. I went to the same house last year with my parental's actually, but even with some of the same decorations it was still a sight to be seen. I took video which I haven't uploaded yet, but when I do I'll let you all have a look-see.

And I'm feeling quite sleepy so I'll wrap this up here...may I get around to Memes, some day!

Goodnight all!

11:11pm: Yes, today was the big combo-Mum's Birthday-Father's Day Celebration and it went off without a hitch! Although, I didn't actually end up doing what I was meant to! For example, because I had to get my hair done I wasn't able to pick up the birthday cake on Saturday afternoon - so Mum had to pick up her own cake, LOL! Then because my friend Ben called to invite me over to his place (he lives far away in Darwin and that was the only time I could see him before he headed back) I didn't have time to make my usual cards, so I had to do that today during the party. Lastly, I neglected to pick up two Venetta ice cream cakes from Woolies so had to ask my little bro to do it.

Actually, considering that he picked them up, made the fruit salad and got the Chinese food from the restaurant he was the real hero of the day! :O) Which is nice because often he doesn't get to involved in this sort of stuff. I guess have a steady job with normal hours has made it easier for him.

The only thing that didn't happen was the big bro making a Facetime call, because the air-conditioner has broken down over there and it's still summer and my little niece is probably still too young to properly regulate her body temperature, so he had to get onto that. Good thing he's in Japan where you can get handymen to come out on a Sunday! Hopefully he got it fixed.

Also, my cousin Mack kindly gave me a little Bonsai as a thank you because on Wednesday Mum and I helped him out with buying some pants which he needed for a performance he was in at his school and delivering them to him. It was actually on our way to Newtown, so he didn't have to, but I do have an empty spot where my old fish tank used to be, so there's somewhere to put it which is cool.

As for the fathers, well I'm sorry to say I totally forgot to get something for Dad! I didn't even get him a bag of salted peanuts like I usually would! And I forgot to bring over the Pineapple Cadbury Dairy milk chocolate that I got especially for Mum. Man, I meant to buy another block of it last night when Ben and I had to go to his local Woolies because he was missing an ingredient for the cake he was making.

Pft, talk about scatter-brained!

Anywho, it's past 11:30pm now, so I better hit the hay, I didn't get enough deep sleep last night - at least according to my app - and I think it might have been behind the headaches I had today - one in the morning and then in the afternoon. Dave McFly is totally right - the last thing you need is headaches.

But man, I so need to get back to the Memes...it'll have to wait though.

For now, goodnight!

11:30pm: And I didn't get quite enough sleep last night so I have no business being online here! So this will be a very short entry.

First up, the costume! I've put the bias binding on most of the seams of the bodice because they were really starting to fray, I also sewed it all together and it seems to fit, OK...still a bit weird in back, but I'm hoping maybe when I attach the skirt that will smooth that out a bit.

I also sewed up Mrs S's shower curtains a bit more - since they were still a bit too long...whoops! So as you can see there's been a lot of sewing tonight!

Another reason for my late updating, I got an unexpected call from Mum, she came back from visiting her friend today and Dad was originally supposed to collect her from the ferry wharf, but unfortunately something's wrong with his knee and it was totally killing him, so I had to do it. We also had to get my cousin Mack from the After-School Care, so I ended up losing about an hour and a half of my time. :OP But all for a good purpose.

Anyway, gotta haul ass. Sorry for the short entry!

Goodnight all!

11:13pm: That was the question I just posed to myself while watching Homes Under the Hammer, because what the Hell, someone fixed up the house they got at auction and completely ripped out the front garden. Why would you not even leave a tree and some bushes? Doesn't look very friendly. Also, they got rid of the rather nice 1930s character tiling in the bathroom.

Oh wait they did leave one tree...but only one? I hope they're planning to stick some grass in back at least.

Anyway, enough about gardening. Today turned out interesting as I went over to the parental units house in the afternoon to discover Mum and Dad had some friends over, which meant I got to hang out with my cousin Mack which was fun, but it did mean that the cleaning of the car was held off until 5pm! (Good thing it's daylight savings now) Which I kind of didn't expect, and also means that I'm a bit behind with cleaning up the kitchen of the flat and the shelf builder is coming at 8am tomorrow - and Mum is too! Eek! So yeah, I'm kind of picking up things while trying to watch my show...oh and do this entry.

On that note I better move quick here with the Memes!

The (Other) Friday Five

24/10/14

1. Are you an overall happy person? I would say yes, a nervous person sometimes, but in general a happy one.

2. What is happiness for you? Enjoying life and finding pleasure and fun in the things you do and the people you meet and stuff like that.

3. What color is happiness? I'll be boring and say yellow - even though I love green when I think of happiness, I think of the yellow smiley.

4. What do you think of the idea of a Happiness Minister who is responsible for the happiness of the population? Pft, I wouldn't trust any Happiness Minister from this current government. Although i hear tell that Nepal has a National Happiness Product rather than a Nation Gross Product to measure the country's success. I think that sort of thing would be pretty cool.

5. Do you feel guilty about being happy when others around you aren't? Depends how sad they are...if they're supper unhappy I'd be worried and wonder why and what to help them. I wouldn't say I feel guilty for being happy though.

Saturday 9

:Moon River (1962):

1) This song is featured in a Dove candy bar commercial. What's your favorite way to enjoy chocolate (cookie, candy bar, ice cream, hot cocoa, etc.)? Anyway I can get it! :OP Ahem, in all seriousness, I would say in a chocolate bar.

2) It was originally written for the movie, Breakfast at Tiffany's. Where's the best place to eat breakfast in your neighborhood? Uh...well I'm in a suburb with not many cafes within walking distance so I'd say my own flat, LOL!

3) Were you able to see the moon last night? Didn't look.

4) When Andy Williams' show was first telecast in color, viewers commented on how very blue his eyes were. What's the first thing you notice about a person? Dunno really...I guess their face in general? Or maybe their smile, if they look friendly.

5) The Andy Williams Show gave the Osmond Brothers their first national exposure. When younger sister Marie joined the act, she made her debut on his show, as well. Let's say you have just been bumped up to first-class for a three hour flight. Which Osmond would you prefer as your seatmate, Donny or Marie? I'm not all that familiar with the Osmond's thus I can't say if either are annoying or one is worse than the other. I'd probably be fine with either...unless they were really talkative and loud.

6) Even though Andy was a millionaire many times over, he was still careful with money, once saying he would never pay more than $50 for a haircut. This leaves Sam shaking her head, because she spares no expense when it comes to her hair. What's something you splurge on? I too enjoy a good bargain, but I guess I kind of splurge on Sims games, I bought the Deluxe Limited Edition Sims 4 after all!

7) Andy's Moon River Theater still draws tourists to Branson, MO. Have you ever been to the Ozarks? Nope, because I don't live in the US, although even if I did I don't think Andy William's music is really my bag.

8) Andy had a discerning eye for Native American art. His collection of Navajo rugs was sold at auction for nearly $1,000,000. Have you ever bid on an auction? I have! I bid on a box of airplane books, which I got for $10, alas they were mostly books about the mechanics of planes and about war planes, so I don't think I actually kept any of them. Fail.

9) Andy told an interviewer that his earliest memory was hiding from a storm in the cellar of his family's Iowa home. What's your earliest memory? Um...I think it's lying on the carpet in the hallway of the first house I lived in in Canberra. How exciting...not.

The Saturday Six is about Halloween memories, but seeing as Halloween didn't become a thing in Australia until the last decade I can't actually answer any of them, so I shall skip it...Which is a good thing actually because time is short!

So instead I shall bid you goodnight and keep you update on Project Shelf!

Goodnight all!

10:08pm: Damn people waking me up at obscenely early hours, very annoying indeed, because RPGing really suffers when one is tired. I want to get my people out to do something, but I can't think of anything. Of course most of them are good, but Series!Arthur and Captain John are feeling bored.

In other news, today was ridiculously hot, like RIDICULOUSLY, it was 41 degrees C or 106 degrees F. The Hell! Fortunately I stayed inside most of the day, atlhough it curtailed my plans to go to church because I would have had to walk there and no way.

It's supposed to be slightly less hot tomorrow so hopefully I can get to church then.

I did go to the church gathering that happened afterwards though, because Mum helps set that up and I got to go in the car with her. She was also going to spend the evening with her nephwe, my cousin Mack, so he hung out with us there. So I got to saw all my church people. Still phew!

So yes tired - here's the Memes:

Can't do because it's about iPad/Phone apps.

Saturday 9

:Margaritaville:

1. Tell us about a time that you had way too much Jose Cuervo.

I don't know what that is.

2. Do you agree with the following statement: "The older you get, the faster time goes by."

Yes! What's with that shit? Remember how when you were 8, 9, 10 and the year seemed to take forever? Then when you started thinking "Hey been an adult will be hard" everything will start going really fast. Ass.

3. What do you usually do during your "down time?"

RPG! Reading! Watching TV all that sort of stuff.

4. When it comes to the opposite sex, do you feel you have a grasp on 'em - or do they continue to just surprise you?

Talking to a RPG friend of mine today has shown me I know nothing about dudes. Which is a slight problem seeing as I'm RPG-ing a bunch of 'em! But hey that'd just be stereotype so I should be cool.

5. What is your home town famous for?

The Harbour! And all it's related buildings - Harbour Bridge, Opera House.

6. How many romantic relationships have you had?

0.

7. What's the best concert that you've ever been to?

The Beach Boys one kicked a lot of ass! And the Brian Wilson Concert I went to see for free! So I dare say that was the best.

8. Which famous person would you like to meet? Why?

George III! He'd probably hate me a bit, LOL.

9. Has a newspaper or television reporter ever interviewed you? If so, what were the circumstances and what did you think when you read or saw what you said?

Ha no.

And apparently that's it, which is good since I need to catch up on those zzzs!

Goodnight all!
