Ummm...

10:39pm: OK, I don't actually have a good subject heading for this post, my mother and I have just finished watching our shows, which means I should be getting ready for bed, but I figured I'd post a little update before heading off.

Not much to report, although apparently after a few days of been mostly warm, it's going to be cold and rainy tomorrow and into the weekend, which kinda sucks. I hope it isn't raining on Sunday for archery, as mentioned they apparently only cancel if there's lightning, but I can't really imagine been able to shoot a bow with any accuracy whatsoever with rain pouring on my glasses.

In other news, we've got training tomorrow morning, which sucks, firstly because, training is always a drag, often you get told shit you already know and then you have to roleplay situations an it's all awkward. Secondly, that's 3.5 hours away from my actual work tasks, such as the Inter Library Loans and QC-ing the new items. We're falling behind on the latter again and this training won't help. On the plus side it is only down the road from my apartment, so at least I don't have to go far.

Finally, I did do a Sims 4 session, but ended up not saving because poor Gardner Shea is not having the best honeymoon, I sent him and Lady to the jungle, but he keeps getting attacked by various creatures. When I left the game he was on fire! o.O I hope the game's not trying to kill him off, because seriously, the audacity.

On that note, I better be off, hopefully I might have a more interesting update tomorrow. Good night!

10:30pm: Yes indeed, which honestly is probably the last thing I need, because Sims 3 is already plenty addictive without adding a second game to it! But while watching some of the member videos on James Turner's channel, I saw that someone had re-created the gardener, who Lady Bigwallet I was originally going to pursue a relationship, until the game crashed before James could save it and the gardener was lost forever :O( As it turned out someone had also made a Lady Bigwallet I, so I thought to myself...why not download them both and get them together in an alternate world? Which is what I've been up to this evening while at my parents place and it's proven to be most amusing, especially since as James did, Lady has no money, so at the moment she's scrounging around and carrying her bed everywhere since she doesn't actually have a house yet, LOL. I've had quite a bit of luck fishing, but I'm not sure how I'm meant to save up enough money to buy walls...

Meanwhile the gardener - Shea - does in fact have a house, so I guess I could get Lady to romance him and move in, then she could work on getting rich as is her aspiration. They're actually already flirting and it's quite cute :O)

Moving onto non-Sims related news, work was busy today, as it's Wednesday which is Inter Library Loans courier day, also there's a delivery of books to get through...there was also the monthly staff meeting. I have to say I'm not a fan of meetings...although my supervisor always has a treat and this time it was scones! :OD Still you can't work on other stuff at meetings, so...

Interesting enough our increasing workloads were on the agenda, apparently the big boss wants us to do more Collection Analysis and stuff, although currently we don't really have time for that, so some other stuff might have to be changed. I feel like that might end up being quality checking the books, which we're all resistant to because of various reasons. But I guess you gotta do what the big boss says.

Anywho, Mum and I successfully watched all our favourite funny shows, but I should wrap this up now and try to get to bed before 11pm for once!

Goodnight!

10:16pm: Well, that time o' the month brings a whole hot of issues to my person...firstly my knees hurt, which is very annoying, but at least they didn't hurt until after I finished up at the gym.

Secondly, I've got a sore right thumb, I have no idea what the deal with this is...every so often I'll get this soreness, which don't seem to be related to the joint, I went to see a doctor about this issue a couple of years back, but they weren't able to tell me what the deal was, except it's not arthritis. Which is good news.

Thirdly, my left QL muscle is still sore :O( I've tried using the little sports ball thing I got to try and lessen the tension in the muscle, but not much joy there.

So yeah, that really sucks, and it's rather difficult to type this entry with the sore thumb and there certainly hasn't been any fiction writing going on.

I should take some ibuprofen for this rather than complaining I suppose. I sure hope I feel less aching tomorrow though, I certainly don't need these sheninigans!

In other news they've changed the graphics for ABC News, they're all...streamline-y? And website-lie and brought back the old intro music, very strange.

Right, so short entry syndrome strikes again, and I don't feel up to doing the memes, so, yeeeeah.

Wish me a good night's sleep!

10:59pm: So, I'm over here at the parental abode, where I come every Wednesday so that I can pick up my Lite and Easy lunches that are delivered on Thursday morning as well as watch my favourite shows with Mum, where much laughing and amusement is had.

I was planning to do some writing this evening for McFly July, especially since I finished the Terry Pratchett book this morning - it was really good! - but alas, I allowed myself to be distracted by the internet, curse you internet. Seriously, I remember scoffing a few years back about the whole "The Internet is stealing our brains!" thing, but it's true! Attention spans just aren't what they used to be and for someone like me - who had a shitty attention span to begin with, this is bad news.

So yeah, no writing done this evening...I better get onto that, I don't wanna make a liar out of my Tumblr post, LOL.

Anyway, I'll have to make this a super short entry though, because it's after 11pm now and I should be in bed! I swear my lack of zzzzs did me no favours when it came to the cold, although I'm pleased to say my nose has finally unstuffed itself- I do have a bit of a cough though, annoying.

I also forgot to give my father the book he asked me to get - he's reading Daniel Silva's Gabriel Alton (Allen?) series, so I better do that before I forget and accidentally take it back home with me again!

Hopefully, I can write some fanfic tomorrow and also a less rushed journal post, LOL.

For now goodnight!

10:53pm: To always wear our seatbelt, because some petty crook just got himself killed because he crashed his car, wasn't wearing his and ended up going through the windshield. I still don't get how you can drive without a seatbelt on, how do you not slide off the seat when you have to break suddenly?

Moving on from automobile safety or lack thereof, I discovered that I didn't have work today after all, fortunately I realised this before I went there. Although I should have gone to Mona Vale today to buy a new heater for the fish tank, when I got home from Mum and Dad's this morning I discovered the temperature on the fish tank was reading well under 19 degrees. Fishenko's still swimming about, but I do worry about him.

I didn't get a chance to go shopping at all today, though I meant to after going to the gym this afternoon, however I oh so unhelpfully forgot to bring my backpack with me and thus didn't have my wallet. Do'h fail. Oh well, at least still had my homemade pizza left so I had something for dinner at least. However...I don't actually have anything for breakfast tomorrow, I discovered when I got home that my milk went off several days ago (maybe that's why I've had stomach pain the last few days...) and yeah it was getting quite cold when I got home from the gym so I didn't go down to the service station to get it.

Ugh, crap I'm trying to do my Russian but there's a phrase I'm really stuck on...and I'm running out of time, I need to get to sleep soon because I have to get to work with Mrs S fifteen minutes earlier than usual tomorrow so that means getting up earlier.

So yeah, I gotta wrap this up, LOL story of my life. :OP

11:27pm: Indeed! I finally got around to making a card for the occasion! I pride myself on my homemade cards, but I've been slacking on them lately. But I made one for Mum, yaaay! Although not for my little bro, who's birthday was yesterday. I thought I was going to see him at the Mother's Day Brunch at my Uncle's place but alas he's sick and wasn't able to come (sick for your birthday, that suuucks), so I called him to wish m a belated birthday. I left him a message at first since he didn't answer, he called me later though.

Sadly the weather was not very nice today, all rainy in fact when I drove over to my uncle's place it was totally bucketing down, I couldn't even hear the radio over it! Luckily, it let up but it was still pretty dreary.

However, work at the library was still pretty busy because it was Code Club day, which is a monthly computer thing that is popular with kids - there were thirty of them there this time! However, my feet were positively aching by the end of the shift. However, they're fine now...so I don't know if this is a sign of an issue with the shoes or if I'm just adjusting to the orthodics or what? It's puzzling I tells ya! The shoes are stiffer than the ones I had before, so maybe I just need to break them in?

What else to report? Not much, which is good since it is getting late and I should be getting ready to hit the hay and since I'm at my parental units' place I need to get the couch ready to lie on :OP

Before I do that though...drumroll please...a Meme!

:The Getting to Know You Questions:

1. What is your occupation right now? How long have you been there? I have two, three mornings a week I'm a personal carer for Mrs S, I've been working for her for nearly two and a half years now, wow! On the weekends (and a shift here and there) I work as a library assistant in Mona Vale and I've been there for...nearly two years. Niicce.

2. Favorite rock band. Ever. EVER? Man that's a tough one...do The Corrs count as rock? If not I'm gonna say The Beatles.

3. What are you listening to right now?
A house show Mum recorded, we enjoy watching the house shows together on Sunday :O)

4. Last person you spoke to on the phone. What was it about? The little bro, about his birthday and is badly time sickness!

5. How old are you today? Or make up a question. This one bites. Can't think of another question so I'll answer this one, 33.

6. What is your favorite sport to watch on TV? Figure skating for the win!

7. What is your favorite drink? Iced water...or iced chocolate.

8. Have you ever dyed your hair? Nope, I'm too lazy to do it myself, too cheap to have it done at the hair dresser and I wouldn't want to mess it up and be stuck with it!

9. Favorite food? CHEEEEESE!

10. What is the last movie you watched? Finding Dory on DVD.

11. Favorite day of the year? Oooh, that's a toughie, I'll say Christmas, because hey it's Christmas!

12. How do you vent anger? Not well, mostly with yelling and crying. :O/

13. What was your favorite toy as a child? My imagination :OP Also my dollshouse.

14. Living arrangements? (Of course your pets count. Geez!) I live in a Granny Flat with my fish, Fishenko. :O)

15. What was the last thing that you cried about? Uh...you know I can never remember, I mean I remember crying, but not what it was about.

16. Who is the friend you have had the longest? I guess it'd be Edith? But we're not so much in contact these days, so I'll say Zep. We've known each other since I was about 13! Edith too, actually, so yeah!

17. What did you do last night? Hung out online and watched house shows.

18. What are you most afraid of? Throwing up.

19. In how many areas of your country have you lived? What's your favorite? I was born in Canberra and lived with my family for five years in Dubbo, which is in the country and of course here in Sydney. And despite my feeling when we moved there I gotta say Sydney has been the best. (Although Australia's a huge place, and I've only lived on the east coast!)

20. What is your favorite flower? (Ugh. Quite the note to go out on. But hell, we steal the questions. I guess you get what you pay for.) I love red roses! :OP

11:28pm: Aussie Style! Yeah! I do forget that it's on but I managed to remember it today and it's pretty hilarious. I do love me some good improv and all the best games are there...Scenes from a Hat, that one where you have to change the last thing you said...I even saw the one with the three dates a few weeks back. I've yet to see News Anchors, though I hope that comes up soon! Although they put it on so late I'm not sure if it's actually getting a lot of viewers, which means it might get cancelled, to which I say boo.

Anyway it just finished so I switched over to 9Life for my house show and the show before was still on and damn this guy on it looks a lot like Biff Tannen, it's rather creepy to be honest.

Moving along, I've had abdominal discomfort all damn day, checking my app I think the middle of my cycle is coming up, not the ovulation pain again! Because that's just a pain in the...ovary :OP I also had a headache this morning, but two paracetamol helped wit that, I don't think I got quite enough sleep though, so better make sure not to do that tonight.

Not much to report, except that I didn't finish the library book that's overdue and on hold, do'h! I actually drove to the library this evening hoping I could finish it and return it, but nope it was going to take too long and was it was getting dark, not to mention the library had already closed by that point. So I'll have to do it tomorrow morning before head over to M and Grandpa's for Canasta and lunch.

But oh I forgot to mention, I found my Marge Simpson glass last night, it was next to the sink the whole time! I have no idea how I missed seeing it! I need to get my eyes checked!

Right, before I wrap this up let's have another Meme:

Sunday Stealing

:The Cannon Fodder Questions:

1. Is there someone you'd like to be kissing right now? Nope.

2. When you're being extremely quiet, what does it mean? I'm either really upset, nervous or just gone to sleep (but I talk in my sleep apparently so that may not last for long! :OP)

3. What are you listening to right now? House Hunters International good times, good times.

4. Are you a big fan of thunderstorms? Not really, thunder scares me.

5. Do you believe in perfect? Like a perfect day? Or a perfect person? Yes to the former, no to the latter (unless we're talking about Jesus or something). But hey not everything has to be perfect.

6. Are you a jealous person? I don't think so? I have no idea to be honest! I've never had a relationship.

7. What was the first thing you thought this morning? "Man, that was a weird dream..." I've kind of forgotten what it was now though, I think I was at Plushy's new skating school though!

8. What do you think about when you are falling asleep? Nothing much...probably just that I have good dreams!

9. Are you satisfied with what you have in life? Eh...pretty much, although I could use more hours at the library. Why is the employment market so unkind.

10. Do people ever think that you're either older or younger than you actually are? Ha, ha, younger, all the time younger! I don't wear make-up so I guess I look pretty young. Although people have stopped asking if I've just finished high school, now I get what uni course are you studying, LOL.

11. Do you think men truly understand women? Eh, dunno, but do women truly understand men? :OP Or anyone truly understand anyone?

12. How about women understanding men? Oops, pre-empted this question, but see above.

13. Did anybody ever call you handsome or beautiful? Nope, I have been told I'm pretty though.

14. What is one fact about the last person that called you? Uh...she's my boss.

15. Other than your current one, tell us about the longest relationship you have had either a romance or a particular good friend. When I was a kid in Dubbo, I had one best friend, we got on super well and I was so happy to have one good friend (I had others, but as a general rule I have trouble making friends) and it sucked when my family and I moved to Sydney. We eventually lost touch, but I still remember the good times.

Okedoke, time to hit the hay, although I've got one last musing about the current ad I'm watching - it's about a doorbell and camera system that works through wi-fi so you can see who's at the door from postmen to burgulars, but...why would a burgular ringt the doorbell?! Or does the camera just send video whenever anyone gets near to your house? Sounds annoying...

Your thoughts on this matter would be appreciated. :OP

8:00pm: I'm watching RBT which reminds me of the segment on the show we have here Have You Been Paying Attention? (man, when's that coming back, I love that show), it's actually hard to tell sometimes who's over or under. Some of them are just really bad at English so are very confused by the instructions, which isn't all that surprising because when you actually listen to them they use some odd language. "Expel your breath through this device..." Like what the...?

Anyway, I'm updating early tonight because I have to go to bed sooner rather than later - no joke this time because I need to get to Mrs S's an hour and fifteen minutes earlier than usual because she has to leave at 9:35am to get to a doctor's appointment.

This mean I need to get up an hour earlier too, which means I need to get to bed at...calculates...10:30 accounting for time taken to get to sleep. So yes, can't let time get away from me too much, as it so often does once 8pm comes around. :OP

What else to report? Well, my bank card still isn't here, which really, really sucks, I'm really hoping it gets here tomorrow, otherwise I'm going to have to go to the Mall and take some money out at the actual branch because I have about 50 cents in my wallet after going food shopping today. And I didn't even get cucumber, boo.

Hmm, these guys on RBT have interesting stories...the guy on right now had to take his goat to the vet! Also...apparently if your roadside test indicates you've breathed over the limit and they take you to the station or the booze bus they put you handcuffs! That seems a bit harsh.

What else...nothing much, except I've just looked at my emails and my Pusheen stuff is on the way! Hooray! I was starting to worry I'd sent money to the wrong account! I wonder how long it'll take to get here? If it arrives before the bank card though...

Although...it's left me thinking if I should get another bank account or something so in this sort of situation I'd have a back-up. Only thing is...another bank account means bank fees and what money would I even put in there? I guess I could check if my ING Direct account has a card. I don't think so though, I'm pretty sure it's just an interest saving account.

What can you do?

Well, I'll tell you want I'm gonna do I'm going to get my dinner! I dilly-dallied in putting it on so it's only just ready now.

Right, I'll be off, wish me luck tomorrow with the early rising! At least I'll have more time to clean up my bedroom!

11:24pm: On this house show my mother and I are watching right now. Seriously, the house had water damage, ants and somehow they messed up heir measurements and now the door won't fit. Major Fail.

Anywho, in other news it was another mad day at the library today but with four of us on today we finally caught up on everything, phew! But man, we should have put a count on the number of books we had because it has to be a record! And they said libraries would become obsolete after the internet became popular. Clearly not.

Aside from that not a lot else to report, gee, I'm not a very interesting person I am? at least not on Sundays LOL. But it is late so it's probably a good thing I've got short-entry syndrome.

I'm reminded though I haven't done any memes in aaaaages, I gotta get back onto that.

11:18pm: Or it did, it's finally starting to settle down, but gee did it suck...stupid knee pain. I really should book that appointment with the podiatrist, I think I've mentioned before that the last time I kept getting leg pain and whatnot it was because they weren't right for my gait anymore.

Anyway, I was rather annoyed because I couldn't think of any reason I should have a sore knee, it's not like I went ice skating or anything this afternoon, but haven't said that, work at the library today was an absolute madhouse! There was a Union Picnic Day yesterday and the library was closed. Seems that everyone in the whole suburb had decided to come along and return their books! The chute was utterly full, books spilled out and some where jammed in the top of the slots. We have two large blue trolleys to get books out, we had to use both of them twice and even though we worked hard there was still quite a bit of shelving left to do for tomorrow's shift, including me, LOL. No rest for the wicked indeed!

Now, my friend (not the one who's gone back to Wales) and I had discussed getting together this afternoon, but after the busy, busy shift I didn't really feel like it. It turned out she'd been in Mona Vale earlier that day and had SMSed me. But I SMSed back suggesting we get together on Tuesday - since that is my day off - or maybe next Saturday (don't know what to do about ice skating though!), although I haven't heard back yet.

Not much else to report aside from that, although I managed to leave the book I was reading at the library and I was just about finished too, boo. Ah well, at least it's given me the chance to finish up the other book.

And now I'm watching the Amazing Spider-Man movie, I never did see this one...that Lizard is creepy as shit. Also, Andrew Garfield reminds me of someone with his hair and I've just realised...I'm pretty sure it's our top Aussie male skater! Nice, he and some of the other Aussies were on the SBS figure skating highlights today, although they didn't show their whole programs, I'm disappointed. One of them did skate to my mother's mobile phone ring tone, seriously so bizarre.

11:03pm: Regarding playing Russian Roulette with the parking lot across from the Library. It's got a one hour limit, but I have at various times - usually the weekend parked there for my shift - which is four hours.

And today I finally got a ticket, fuuuck. It was even more my own fault than usual because I only parked there because I was running late and thus didn't have time to park in the normal place where there's no time limit.

Although, the cost of a parking ticket seems to have gone down since the last time I got one years and years ago, back then it was 80 bucks! This one was $66 but with the 25% discount for paying it right away it went down to $49.50. Still that's like two hours of work. Shit.

Anyway! Now I don't have a cruise to recount any more I'm not sure what else to say! Except did I ever mention that I found my anti-chafing stick thing? Turned out it didn't fall out of my bag in the parking lot near the psychiatrist's office, instead it fell out here in my bedroom! So when I was unpacking two weeks ago, I found it! Hooray!

So, I need to get to bed but I'm caught up in I Shouldn't Be Alive, I really want to know how the guy gets himself out of this, he's trapped under a quad bike and coyotes are coming for him. O.o Luckily, he seems able to scare them away, but he's been out there for like 3 days.

Quad bikes suck.

But not much else to report, I did do some cleaning and ironing today so the place should be ready for Mum's inspection tomorrow afternoon. :OP Meanwhile, I'm still waiting to hear if I'm going to get together with some friends tomorrow evening. 9:52pm: Actually, I don't know if that's true, but it feel like it should be, I mean...red in the bathroom? Just sounds wrong. Although there was another bathroom in the house in question that had green wallpaper, I was on board with that! :OP

Just to clarify, I'm watching my house shows, I'm not actually looking at houses myself - although I'm reminded that I think they might have finished the display suite of the apartment building I've bought off the plan, I should find out for sure and then the parental units and I can go visit it!

Also, is a weird that the dude in this current house show wants elements of the Pacific Northwest in the house when he and his fiance are in fact on the east coast, wrong side of the country, my good sir.

Moving on, the get together looks to be going ahead tomorrow evening/night, yay! The only problem is my friend hasn't replied to me about whether he's going to the party at 4pm - which means I'll have to take public transport there because I finish work at 5pm - or later. I wonder if he's not getting my messages over Facebook, I'd assume so though. I guess he's thinking about and will get back to me.

I'm not actually sure that's an approved method...I guess as long as they don't end up making other people obsessive, because the guy that's on right now takes four hours to wash his dishes!

10:49pm: Yes! I got it back! Just to discover that Letters & Numbers apparently isn't on anymore. I'm not sure if it's just temporary or what, I should make sure to watch the eps I missed online before they all disappear again.

I'm sure you're all wondering how this came to happen. Well, after finishing up work I decided to go to the Mall, the idea was to ask someone at JB Hi-Fi if they had any solutions to my strange problem. As it turned out, the chap I spoke to was as confused as me, he'd never heard of such a thing! The only thing he could think of was the player was old, which I guess made sense. The only suggestion he could give was to get a set-top box or a new Blu-Ray/Tuner combo player. The latter though, costs over $300 and I didn't really want to pay that. The former seemed to be a bit of overkill, I mean getting a whole set-top box just so I could tune into SBS? And then I'd have to go through all sorts of rigmarole to record anything...

However, when I say one for about forty dollars in Target I figured, "What the Hell" and purchased it, along with some of those small battery operated fairy lights (I want to add some light to my room).

So I get home with the set-top box, set it up and it works great! Obviously, there's nothing wrong with the antenna or the cable. I then headed off to the gym, because I haven't been there in over a week and while I was working out it occurred to me...when I plugged in the set-top box, I unplugged power adaptor for the Christmas Tree, which is quite large and I wondered if perhaps that had had some weird effect on the Blu-Ray player.

Sooo, when I got home, I unplugged the set-top box, plugged the antenna cable back in the Blu-Ray player, rescanned and...all the SBS channels came back!

Which is great! Except now I have to go back to the Mall to return the set-top box, which is a pain.

Also, how the Hell did I not think of doing this before?! And I sure wish I knew why the Christmas Tree's plug caused such a big problem, it's not like there's not a whole bunch of other stuff plugged into that power board. Very annoying.

Anyway! It's been a busy day I must say, I was a little worried about my right foot which was hurting a bit after I finished working, shopping and going to the gym, but it's feeling fine now so I think it'll be OK.

But now I have to hit the hay, my app says I'm not going to bed early enough so I better address that. I know I'm sleepy right now!

So I shall bid you all goodnight!

11:28pm: Well, at least in this documentary Death Row Stories where they seem to be sentencing people to death on the flimsinest of evidence. Like, seriously? Although the other week I found out that even if someone admits they lied their ass off on the stand if the trial was "fair" they won't give you a retrial. If this is true, fuck the law, man. Someone just admitted to lying so how was the trial "fair"? Beats me. I sure hope I never end up getting screwed over by some bad cops and over the top prosecutors. I wonder do any of these prosecutors ever wind up in jail themselves for being bullshitters?

Anyway, moving on, my brain is frazzled today and I didn't get nearly enough cleaning, which is no good for me because my mother is coming over tomorrow and I really should have it looking right...it's not like I haven't had enough notice of this.

But I blame biology, it's that time o' the month as well as being damn hot, I'm a bit worried actually as it's supposed to even hotter tomorrow! I've got my air-con, but I'm not sure if it's strong enough to keep me cool tomorrow...On the other hand the big bro and his family arrive this Sunday morning so I'm not supposed to spend time the night over at the parental units's.

Which actually brings me to something that's got me down, with the big bro, his wife and their baby staying with my parents for Christmas there's no room for me to stay over on Christmas Eve as usual! That means waking up Christmas morning with no-one to say Merry Christmas to except Plushenko the fish (sorry Plushenko, but you can't talk back :OP) I mean technically I could stay on my parents' couch, but er...that'd be six people in the house way too crowded. Of course Mum said I can just come over Christmas morning ASAP, but I dunno, I'm considering seeing if M and Grandpa will have me stay over. Tell me, am I lame or not for not wanting to wake up all by myself on Christmas morning?

Right, it's almost midnight so it's time for me to wrap this up and hit the hay!

Goodnight all, wish me luck tomorrow with finishing my cleaning!

10:15pm: Well maybe not everyone, but I sure do! I cant figure out if it's because it's nearly that time o' the month, or because the weights I lifted at the gym on Friday were too heavy or because of my new shoes. Or perhaps a combination of all three... Either way it sucks.

Although it does seem to come and go, right in the middle of work today my poor lower back was so sore I wasn't sure if I wanted to drag my butt to church, however by the time I finished I felt all right, so off I went - although Dad ended up backing out. The new priest was there, he gave a good sermon and spoke really well, which is impressive when you consider English is his third language, he was born in Africa.

Moving along, the show I'm watching called Zombie House Flipping is very amusing, I have no idea how 'real' it is, but right now the team is trying to deal with an alligator in the pool. Why they haven't just called Animal Control...

Oh! And I got the frosting for the cupcakes done this morning and even used my special frosting kit to pipe it onto the cupcakes. They looked very fancy and I got an SMS from Mrs S earlier this evening to say they went down a treat and there's some left over for me to enjoy, yaaay!

What else? Um...I did have something to say, but I wanted to finish my Russian for today (because I keep leaving it too late and end up skipping a day) and now I've totally forgotten what it was! Hmm, I suppose it mustn't have been important.

So let's do some Memes instead )

Right, it's almost 11:30pm and work's tomorrow so I better wrap this up and get ready to hit the hay!

Goodnight all!

11:35pm: When you're at a friend's house! Well, maybe I could have, but I lost track of time and I had to go to bed before I got the chance.

Anywho! It was great to hang out with my friend again! We watched the new Ghostbusters movie, which I really enjoyed! I tend to think the fanboys who were complaining about it are being a bit precious, but I suppose if they made a BTTF reboot I'd probably be bitching a bit too. But eh, it was still a good movie!

My friend was a very good hostess indeed. :O) She made a delicious dinner and had ice creams in the freezer for desert. Good times! Plus the house is big so I had a proper bed to sleep in, so that was cool.

In the morning she showed me some US TV shows that I'd heard of, but never watched, Samantha Bee and John Oliver. Very amusing! Although, you have to wonder what will happen after the US Election...depending on the result there good be a whole lot of screaming and running around in horror!

And just looking at the time I can see the dreaded Duolingo practice has eaten into my post time! Honestly me!

Ah well, suffice to say after watching the TV shows with my friend, we took a quick walk around the neighbourhood and then had an even quicker lunch before heading off to Mona Vale so I could go to walk and my friend could do some shopping.

Work went very well! It was a miracle I found a parking spot because the yearly markets were on today, which also meant a huge number of books had been returned in the after-hours chute. It must have taken a good two hours to clear and check-in everything that was in there! But we managed it. I do enjoy returning books.

And...I've just remembered I totally need to apply for that one day a week job in the Local History part of Dee Why Library! Don't want to miss out on that chance.

But for now, I must get my butt to bed!

Goodnight all!

11:32pm: So after work today I popped over to the Petsmart to ask about it, but I didn't have a very good picture of it on my phone so the sales person wasn't really able to help me much, for example is the whole thing supposed to be submerged in the water? Or is the little motor part with the propeller in it suppose to stick out? She seemed to think it should be full submerged so when I got home I attempted to do that, but the filter is too long and when I sort of nudged it down at an angle poor Plushenko almost got sucked into the propeller! So I lifted it back out again. Fortunately Plushenko was uninjured, I hope...he seems OK. Also of a worry when I put the filter all the way in the water some weird...stuff...came out, like dirt from the gravel, I hope that hasn't done anything bad to the water in the aquarium.

So the upshot of all this...it's still making pretty much the same amount of noise! Damn! And I can't take it out of the tank really because I'm quite sure it's working and I don't want to risk Plushenko's health and I can't seem to figure out exactly what type of filter it is so looking it up on the net hasn't helped. Most irritating.

Anywho, moving right along, I'm sorry to report I didn't go ice skating today, primarily because I have a blister on one of my right toes from the shoes I wore to the interview yesterday. I usually wear the shoes with stockings, but it was a bit hot to do that yesterday, and my right foot is bigger than my left so...blister. :O( And my ice skates are quite tight so I didn't want to end up limping, which I probably would have seeing as I'm a wuss. Also it's been rainy today and I don't really like to drive long distances in the rain.

So instead I came home and sat on my butt :OP but I caught up on my reading so that was cool. Although I haven't caught up on my memes, which is not cool.

Oh, wait I did do some shopping before heading home because I was out of cheese, and I also got myself a pair of watches from K-Mart, they're cheap but I've had watches from there before that are still working so...

Right, I better be off, it's almost midnight. LOL, the guy's name on this House Hunters International is Barkley, seriously? People these days. :OP

And now, I say goodnight!

10:39pm: So today was the interview and I have to say...I don't think I did so well. Obviously I didn't prepare enough for it, because they were the same sort of questions I've had at such interviews before, but that didn't stop me from basically "uming" and "uhing" my whole way through. They told me to expect an answer back in about two weeks, but like I said I don't hold out a lot of hope. Damn shame because it's actually a full-time job with weekday hours so I'd be like a proper employed person.

In other news before I headed out to the interview the landlord came by to give me a letter and check that the smoke alarm was working, which it was. I also showed him the dripping tap, but unfortunately it doesn't look like he's all that sure how to get the top of the taps off either. Damn, should have got that plumber in here after all.

Huh, interesting I'm watching a doco called Body Hack and have just found out that you don't even have to be French to get in the French Foreign Legion. Not that I'm going to join, I'd last approximately point one millisecond, meanwhile the guy doing the doco is like "I'm so old compared to these guys..." which he is, but damn doesn't mean he's not fit since he ends up surviving the course and would have made the legion!

Also, Duolingo is being a bit of a pain here, I'm not sure if it's due to my phone running out of space or the storm that's outside. Maybe a bit of both? Very annoying. Especially since I'm still trying to get to bed at 11:18pm as advised by my UP app.

And also, I was going to do some memes, but Friday5 doesn't seem to be working, but I guess I'll just do the other Friday Five.

The (Other) Friday Five

15/7/16

1.How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are? Uh...like how old do I feel? I guess like 16? Which is like half my age which is kinda sad.

2.Which is worse, failing or never trying? Never trying I suppose, although failing sucks rather hard :OP

3.If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do? Because you gotta eat, man and most people's dream jobs aren't really profitable.

4.When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you’ve done? With how much I talk definitely the former!

5.What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world? The inequality, it sucks that so little of us have so much. :O(

29/7/16

1.Do you believe in reincarnation? Nah.

2.Have you ever felt that you knew someone the first time you met them? Not that I recall.

3.Have you ever visited a foreign country or city for the first time and found that you knew exactly where things were? Pft, I barely know where things are in the place I live in all the damn time, so no.

4.Have you ever looked in the mirror and 'seen' a different face? Nope, although I have looked at photos of my niece and I think she looks a Hell of a lot like my mother's baby photos. Except...I don't remember seeing photos of my mother as a baby. Weird.

5.Is the belief in UFOs, aliens, physic powers, etc, growing because the belief in religion is dying? I dunno if it's actually growing, it's probably about the same it's just more noticible because of the internet.

Right, better be off now otherwise I won't make my bed time, which is more important than ever because I didn't sleep too well last night, I think I was nervous about the job interview, hmpf!

Goodnight!

11:07pm: Never fear, dear readers, I'm still alive, although I continue to be internetless, which let me tell you is a total downer.

In regards to my title, I'm watching a replay of the Closing Ceremony and it's getting close to the part where Japan does is presentation in preparation for when they hold the Games next. I saw some of it move this morning because Mrs S's husband was watching it, and I heard about it on the news as well, basically it was totally epic, so I wanna see!

Actually, if I had the funds and the bravery, I could go to the Toyko Olympics, my passport arrived today! I'm slightly confused as I could have sworn the email I got said I'd have to sign for it, but it seems that just handed it to the landlords' wife here. Bit weird that.

Anyway I'm feeling much better now, a week and one day after the cold decided to kick my ass although I am left with a rather chesty cough. Mrs S thinks I should get it checked by a doctor, but I dunno. I do have to go near a Bulk Billing medical centre tomorrow, so I guess I could pop by and see how long the wait will be.

Anywho, I better wrap this up as I'm already in danger of falling into bad sleeping habits and that's no good.

So now I say goodnight!
