I Don't Have A BTTF Icon Anymore...

10:46pm: At least on my Dreamwidth account...I guess I can change one of the ones I have.
Anyway, the 9th June is Marty McFly's birthday, so Happy 54th Birthday to the World's First Human Time Traveller.
So I continue to have BTTF on the mind, I unearthed my Back to the Future comic books - well actually not much unearthing was necessary because I actually keep them in a magazine holder that I bought a few months back. Rather unfortunately, only bought up to issue #20 and it actually ended with #25, how annoying! Especially since in recent years the price of postage from overseas - which is the only place I can find the issues - has gone insane. I remember when it was like 5 US dollars, and now it's just utterly ridiculous, we're talking US$25 for one comic book.
I wanted to buy a replacement for one of my Pusheen bookmarks that I managed to lose, these are tiny things, like smaller than your hand and the postage works out to Australian $35. It's bloody nuts! Apparently it's an Ebay thing...which is annoying because looking online you can see that to send a letter from the US it's only about two dollars. But according to the person I asked, if you've signed up with Ebay you have to charge the postage they assign, apparently Ebay seems to be under the impression that everything you buy on there weight like 10kgs.
Apart from that rant, I don't have much else to report - although my mother is currently flying to Japan to visit my big bro and his family. She'll be gone for 3 weeks and has been looking forward to this for ages, my brother and his wife had their third child last year and this is the first time Mum will get to meet my new nephew. She's a bit bummed she missed out on all the baby's first whatever things. On the plus side, both my nephews are born in June, so Mum will celebrate their birthdays with them and with any luck, my brother and his family will make their usual end of year visit this year.
So, yeah, I'm hoping to update the old journal a bit more, get back into writing and so on. I'm not sure if I'm just trying to recapture my youth (LOL, I make it sound like I'm 70 years old or something) but it gives me something to do.
On a final note...in an amazing display of not noticing something right under my nose...I thought I'd lost my sunglasses, I couldn't find them anywhere, not in my car, not in my bag, not in my jacket pocket... I could only hope I'd lef them at church and would be able to get them back on Saturday. Tonight though I went over to my DVD player...and there they were sitting on the cabinet...somehow I'd missed them this whole time. I swear...I'd lose my head if it's wasn't securely fastened to my person. XD
Right, it's coming up on 11:30pm and I need to get my butt to bed, I've finally busted out my flannel sheets, so here's hoping for a toasty warm sleep.
Goodnight all!
