11:43pm: It seems like you need to spend it!

My latest annoyance is my phone, which is about two years old now and was out of date when I bought it. Now, far be it for me to need the newest phone out there, but I'm having trouble with my current one. First off it never seems to have enough memory even though I've inserted an SD card in there and set it to function like extra storage. I keep having to clear the cache and shit, plus every so often it grinds to a halt and I have to restart it. The second problem might not actually have anything to do with the phone...that is I often find myself unable to receive photos SMSed from people. And sometimes I don't even get their regular SMSes that don't have any photos! It happened yesterday actually! Mrs S sent me a photo of the kettle she needs me to purchase along with a separate SMS telling me that the Christmas Party start time had been moved to 6:30 rather than 7pm.

Neither of these got to me, despite the fact that nothing showed up on Mrs S's phone to say they hadn't got through (as far as I know my phone will say "Message unsuccessful" if it doesn't go), which meant I was late to the party - although they hadn't ordered yet so I wasn't late late. Now as I said, this could well be some sort of issue with my carrier because I'm quite sure my old mobile had trouble getting SMSes too. Either way very annoying.

I briefly considered getting the Motorola Moto G3 from Aldi when I was out shopping this afternoon, which is the next level up from my phone (still out of date, though, LOL), but it was $250 and that's a fair chunk of change. So, I didn't, apart from anything else I should really investigate if it's Spintel's fault I'm not getting photos and SMSes before doing that. They used to be contactable 7 days a week, but I'm not sure if that's true anymore.

Anywho, moving on, since it's getting late an I need to go to sleep ASAP, I've done some of my Secret Santa shopping, but I've only spent $30 so far and the maximum is $50 and I'm pretty sure other people will probably spend the maximum so it seems wrong not to do so myself. However one of the things my Secret Santa wants is something that I can't really buy until the end of next week - because it's a pot of flowers that are ready to bloom and if I was to buy it too soon it will have bloomed before I give it! Or I could go for the CD option, although I'm not sure I want to return that 70s CD set I got, because the songs on it look really good, plus I'm not sure where I've put the receipt. But what was I saying about saving money? :OP

Anywho, I'll have to ponder on that later because tomorrow I have quite a few things to do aside from going to work - decide what I'm going to wear for the big party on Sunday, have my hair done, wax and all that jazz. And with deciding what to wear I need to put that outfit together before leaving for work tomorrow morning since I won't have time afterwards!

8:53pm: Yes indeed, I went and got my skates sharpened after work today, but it took so long that I decided to forego actual skating because had I done so I would have been driving home in the dark and as I said I don't like driving in the dark, particularly considering how bush-like the road home is.

Also I was rather sleepy as well, yawn.

However! I do plan to go tomorrow morning before work, which actually had been my plan previously, however I kept on staying up too late! I have to get to the ice rink a little before 10am, which means I have to leave the flat here at 9am and thus get up at about 8:30. But when you stay up until 1:30am that's not the best idea. So yes! I'm updating earlier than usual so I can get to bed on time.

In other news, I also need to buy a new SD card for my phone, I bit the bullet and after swapping things around to get my photos off the one I have so I could format it for internal storage I got a message saying it's a slow one, also according to the specifications I can use up to 32 Gb! Not sure if I can afford it, but 16Gb would be twice as much as I've got now.

Moving on! I'm wearing my new Garfield pjs! I feel fancy :O) or at least like a real fangirl, it's nice to see Garfield is still popular.

And I'm just kind of rambling here, I thought I might have had something else to write about from yesterday...oh wait! I do! I mentioned a while back that I was going on a cruise with my parental units in December on a cruise ship with an ice rink on board! However, it looks as if my sister-in-law and new niece will be arriving in Australia at that time, so obviously Mum and Dad want to be there to hang out with the new grandchild. So instead we're going next February, which will be Dad's birthday, so that's cool.

Although...they wanted me to see if I could get a friend to come along, however, considering the sale ends tonight the notice was a bit too short...Oh well, I guess we'll all have to share a cabin after all. :OP

10:46pm: Ha ha, this show is so funny you can't help but get involved...although I am confused by this Charleton Heston cook guy who made a gigantic sandwich, but it had the weirdest stuff in it, what's up with that? Still his ideas of making giant food are relevant to my interests. :OP

In other news, I did it, I decided to throw caution to the wind and buy a new phone - although budget conscious as ever, I went for the cheapest one I could find that would be compatiable with the Wrist Band app. Although, as it turned out I ended up spending a bit more than I thought I would, because the phone I originally wanted to get wasn't available at the Dee Why Officeworks - despite the online site saying there was limited stock so I got the 2nd Generation version of it...which was only $268 unlocked (keep in mind the cheapest second hand Samsung s3 unlocked would have cost $179 and I would have had to order it from Ebay.

I didn't actually plan on going to Officeworks, and being a person who likes to stick with one brand I was going to go the Ebay option to get a Samsung, but then I do have a Motorola tablet and it was on the list so that's that.

I couldn't wait to get it out of the box! So shiiiiny, although the screen doesn't look quite so glossy now I've put my fingerprints all over it, LOL.

The only drawback is, it doesn't fit my Samsung case of course, and I just bought that, nuts. Apparently, the seller offers refunds so I've sent a message to them to find out if I can send it back and I've also purchased a green case for the Motorola, apparently it'll arrive on Monday, but I have hope it might show up on Friday.

In now related phone news, not much, today was a gym and swimming day, which went quite well! Except the showers didn't have hot water, WTF? I ended up just washing my hair with conditioner, which M advised me to do rather than use shampoo and conditioner and she should know since she went swimming for years and years.

I hope it has some effect on it, I put some of this sleek hair stuff I have when I got home because the humidity at this time of year just wrecks havoc on it. I swear I can't get it to lay flat! Bloody embarrassing.

Anyway, it's getting late and I need to get myself to bed, before I do though, the one last Meme and then I'm all caught up!

11:01pm: That wasn't the aim of course and thankfully I think I'm on my way to resurrecting it, in fact I thought I'd succeeded in doing just that a few hours ago, only to realise there were several things amiss with the display...like all the options I'm used to weren't there! Most displeasing and I couldn't for the life of me figure out why, until just now.

Basically it all started with those Fit Bands from Aldi, Mum got them this morning - I'd actually all ready headed out to my Aldi, but it wasn't a big deal for me to continue on my way to the Mall, especially since I wanted to go to Target anyway.

So anyway, I had success at Target finding an ironing board cover that actually fits properly and to my surprise a fabulous green bra that was on Sale! The only problem...there was only one set of matching underwear left to go with it. On the plus side it was my size, so that was good. Then I got some cleaning supplies at Coles and headed back home to look at setting up the Fit Band.

Alas, that was when I discovered my phone isn't actually capable of downloading the app that is considered quite necessary for the Fit Band - at the very least there doesn't seem to be a way to set the clock properly without it. Pain in the butt.

So...I decided to be clever and do some internet searching where I discovered that whilst you can't update your phone to the latest Android through official channels you can do it under the table as it were. Since I've been having such good luck with doing it myself with technology lately I decided why not try it for this.

BAD IDEA! In the end my phone stopped working altogether! And I was pretty sure it was bricked, ruined forever and what was I supposed to do? I briefly considered just buying a new phone since, you know, I have money and such, but no...I couldn't find an unlocked ones that weren't pricey as Hell. So, I went to an Opts shop to see if they could help me - since the SIM is technically from them. They don't do repairs, but the chap did show me how to get into download mode, which apparently is how you load a new OS on them. And that's how I ended up accidentally downloading the wrong OS, and now I'm trying to get Jelly Bean. Seems it'll take a while though, so I'm not sure I'll manage it tonight.

And after all that I have no way to synch up with my Fit Band, boo. I wonder if Dad's Android that he got from Aldi would work? Sadly my tablet is also too old to be updated to KitKat (the latest Android OS) either. Well, the manual does say you can use it without the app, somehow, so I'll have to investigate that tomorrow.

On that note, it's late and there's no time for Memes, ah fail. I shall have to get back to you on that. For now, wish me a good night sleep!

11:11pm: Although my internet suffering should shortly be over - come midnight the new cycle starts, thank God! Although hopefully it won't run out half way through like last time, I'll be watching it very closely! - a new technological problem has reared it's ugly head. My mobile phone has stopped working! I was playing The Simpsons: Tapped Out on it when it locked up, which has happened before and generally restarting it will do the trick. This time though, nothing doing! It seems to be stuck on the loading screen, I took out the battery and put it back in, I left it charging for a bit thinking that maybe it was it being very low that was causing the problem, but nope. I tried clearing the cache from the boot-up screen, still nothing. The only thing left to do, is to do a factory reset, which will probably work but all my stuff is on there! My photos in particular...I think I backed up that file on my laptop, but I'm not sure how long ago.

Right...just checked that they were backed up on 7th January this year. Hmmm...I can't actually think of any super important photos I've taken since then...at least not any I haven't backed up - like my smiley watch for example.

I'll also lose all my SMS messages...boo, but I guess I don't actually need those.

The only things I do need is my appointments which I put in my calendar, but that might be synched with Google so they'll come back once I log in anyway? Also I do believe I get a call a day or two from the different places involved to remind me of said appointments, so I guess that can be sacrificed too.

My contacts though are a different story...I used to save them to my SIM card, but I moved them off so that I could put pictures to most of them. I'm pretty sure doing a factory reset will leave me to have to collect all the numbers again. Shit.

I have left the phone switched off to charge a bit more, since the battery was all but drained, so maybe with any luck that will revive it, because I think I had a problem like this once before and that worked. All in all, though, fuck this noise.

And no Memes tonight because - you guessed it - the internet is slow as shit for another half hour at least.

That's pretty much all I have to say about today...even though other stuff went down, I shan't bore you with the details.
