11:52pm: Yes! Not only did I go ice skating myself after work (I think my skates need another sharpening though, do'h), but the Men's Free Program of the GP event in Russia. Sadly, Plushy wasn't in the audience today, or if he was they didn't show him, but hey it's all about the skaters competing and they had some really great ones.

Of course, now it's almost midnight and I haven't done any writing on my story - boo me - and I don't have any time to really put anything into the entry.

Oh yeah, well there was some drama at the ice rink, I think a lady dislocated her knee or something! She ended up needing to be taken off on a stretcher, so yeah pretty serious. Hope she's OK, last I saw they were taking her to the medical centre next door.

Also...I made the mince for spaghetti and lasagna tonight with the added vegetables Mum cut up for me, I was just going to make lasagna but I didn't have enough cheese! I'll have to put it together tomorrow instead.

Speaking of which, I really must go since I have to get up for church.

Before I go though...I'm very disappointed that I didn't get any cute corn holders from Aldi, they were all gone by the time I went! Didn't help I totally forgot about them until after I'd finished skating. Dang, totally should have gone in the morning before work.

Well, live and learn.

And now, I'm out!

Goodnight all!

11:27pm: So yesterday I decided to buy that 2-in-1 laptop from Aldi because, it seemed like a good idea and the parental units were on board. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but...alas it just wasn't right. In that it the screen was too small, so all the text was tiny and even when I tried to zoom in it just wasn't right. Maybe it wasn't related but later in the night I had such horrible headache, seriously, it was killing me!

Also, the screen flickered when I got on Tumblr and the touch screen wasn't quite receptive enough - although I guess I should have expected that one, it's not top-market after all. So I decided to return it, which is allowed, except there was one small issue...the laptop came with a year's subscription to Microsoft Office so I activated it. I think it might be attached to my email now...which means even though I've returned the computer the next person who buys it won't be able to use the subscription! I did go to the Microsoft website to try and sort it out, they told me not worry , though I'm not sure that's true.

I feel bad about that, I gotta say. Maybe I should look into it again tomorrow.

Aside from computer related sheninigans yesterday was a good day! It was a public holiday so I didn't have to get to Mrs S's place until 9:30 and then I finished early and went to the parental abode for lunch with the parental units and the little bro. Not only was lunch delicious, the little bro had some good news, not only is work going well, he's decided to quit smoking. Yay! :OD It seems to be going well for him so far, so fingers crossed that goes on.

I spent the night at the parentals so Mum and I could watch our show - it's a hilarious topical game show, ah we laugh so hard.

Which makes me bummed that for the next two weeks I'll be watching it on my own because Mum and Dad are off to Japan to visit the big bro. Sniff, them's the brakes I guess, I'm sure they'll have fun, I'm not sure if I mentioned but they'll be doing some tourist stuff like going to an onsen.

I really should get going because it's ten minutes to midnight and I've got work tomorrow! I had work today actually, because Mrs S said her other carer wanted to meet me and that I should probably show her a few things and also to help rearrange a room...although the whole room thing ended up being a bust, LOL. Anyway! She was nice and actually said we should meet up sometime because she likes cooking Peruvian food (she's from Peru too) which means I could try it.

And lastly, the fanfic is still going, although now I wonder, if I write the whole thing before I start posting it do I posted it all at once or what? Please advise.

Right, now I really have to go.

Goodnight all!

11:12pm: Yep, I was hoping the weather people had dropped the ball on their predictions (it happened a couple of weeks back) but nope, it looks like it's going to be a very wet weekend. To which I say boo, because I wish to go ice skating and I probably need to get my blades sharpened which means driving and I'm a little leery about driving in the pouring rain. Especially since some of the roads I take are prone to flooding with this sort of weather, I guess I'll just have to cross my fingers.

Also...the weather was deceptively clear when I got home from doing some shopping today (after finishing up at Mrs S's place) and it was sheet washing day so I put them on and headed for the gym. However, a little over halfway through my work out it started absolutely bucketing down! So I had to do some creative sheet hanging because I can't put them on the line. Which is bad news because I don't have any room anything else so no clothes washing today...I really hope I can get everything done and dry by Monday.

What else to report? Well, I did briefly buy a Bamboo Spark which was on special at Aldi - it's been there for a while and it looked interesting. I have a Bamboo One but it's weird to draw on because you can't actually see what you're drawing on the thing itself, it appears on the laptop screen and it's a little disconcerting. When I got the Spark home though I discovered there's an app for tablets and smartphones that lets you draw on the screen and it's free! The Spark is a little weird...in that you actually draw on paper with a special pen which then sends the strokes you made to an app, so there's still a bit of disconnect. Plus it was sixty bucks, and I'm not meant to be spending money on extraneous stuff, so after the gym I returned it.

The only downside to the app is that my phone screen is too small for it to really work properly and my tablet is a bit too old - on the other hand it could just be the stylus I'm using...might need to check into that. So I might just have to stick with the Bamboo One after all that. Pft, fail.

On the fan fic front, I'm most relieved that while working at Mrs S's today I found a way to move the story forward, phew! I was getting bogged down and the headache I had last night wasn't helping at all. Of course, having a story idea while working isn't very helpful because I couldn't write it down, but patience is a virtue, or something. :OP

So, it's getting late and thus I better head off, I only have one other thing to report...the handle decided to break off my regular sized pot, do'h! Now I need to find a new one, but should I splash out and buy a new set of pots? Or just replace that one? Any advice on this matter would be appreciated.

And now I shall be off!

11:47pm: Regarding the internet, it's one confusing muddle. I didn't update yesterday, but basically the landlord came by not long after I got home - before I headed for the library - to ask if I'd sorted it all out. I asked him if the agent had called him and was a bit surprised when he said no because setting up a meeting between us all was how this was meant to be decided. Anywho, I decided to tell him about the possibilities I'd come up with, the $300 (plus?) new phone line installation was not a winner, but the suggestion I get an ADSL +2 line set up on his phone line under my name but with the router in his house went over even worse! Now admittedly, I didn't really explain the "in my name" part all that well, but I got the idea that I was getting into bad territory here. Like, my lease might not get renewed in February kind of idea, so I told him not to worry about the phone line I'd just deal.

Of course, this thoroughly sucks, I mean, I think I can get by on my phone like I mentioned last time I updated, but it would mean sacrificing regular visits to Tumblr or watching ice skating etc and it seems kind of...primitive to not have access to internet in this day and age.

So, I did what I usually do in this situation and called Mum, because I also wanted to tell her that we shouldn't go ahead with the awning idea, because the landlord probably wouldn't want people messing with his property. However, Mum pointed out that when she bought that idea up with him a few weeks back he was all for it, also she mentioned the important reason for getting it, for the summer time, because the way the Granny Flat faces means that the sun will shine in during then like nobody's business. Sure, I don't pay the electricity and I've got an air-con in here, but as Mum pointed out the landlord probably won't be thrilled when/if his electricity bill goes through the roof because I need to run the air-con all day!

She asked me if I'd called the agent to remind her that she was supposed to be setting up a meeting to discuss it, but I was hesitant. Although as Mum pointed out, the agent will be talking from a business prospective and would surely be better at convincing the landlord of the importance of having a phone line - especially if we - or rather I - offered to pay for it. Which, you know, I didn't want to do because it's expensive, but what can you do? I might be living in this place for quite a while, so....

Anyway, it'll still be a while before I find out what happens, especially since I got an email tonight saying that a new agent is taking over this property - which I hope doesn't complicate shit too much.

On a final note, I have to get my butt to bed because I need to get up early to meet Mum at Aldi to buy some awnings (they're actually the ones you put on the side of caravans) so I have to get up early (yuk).

So on that note I bid you all goodnight!

10:45pm: So I'm catching up on my house shows, I've actually seen this one before, but it raises many questions...so this family of five has decided to move into a tiny house, but surely they're not planning to live there for very long, because once their kids become teenagers no way are they gonna share one tiny loft space! Also, not to put too fine a point on it, the parents also have a loft with no door or anything so how exactly is there going to be sexy results? Talk about awkwaaard. But then people are weird I guess. :OP

In other news, I better make this entry quick because I didn't get enough zzzzs last night so you know what that means - a skipping of the Memes, sorry about that.

Also the TV reception has just buggered up, beats me why, but undoubtedly that's my cue to exit!

Not much to report today, although I did pop into K-Mart after work to find a mattress protector for Mrs S, who got a new bed delivered so now she has two spare ones - well three actually if you count the fold-out one. Family likes to come and visit though. I found it quite easily and then went looking for boots, alas K-Mart didn't have the kind I was looking for...they did however have this adorable cushion made to look like the sun with a smiley face and everything! It's so cute and only 10 bucks so I kinda had to get it. :OP I also got a soft black beanie to go with my black gloves and restocked my cheese supplies at the new Aldi, niice I say.

However, after that I was pretty lazy so once again I've failed in reaching my step count! Must do better tomorrow! I also need to find out if the school Mum does her Scripture at is out for the holidays on Wednesday or not, note to self!

Right, better dash, like I said, bed calls!

10:42pm: Yes! Today was finally the day, the new part of Warriewood Square opened and with it the new Aldi! It's a very upmarket looking one too! Usually Aldi is rather warehouse looking inside, but this one has nice accents on the walls with various sections of the shop clearly marked. I wonder if Mum and Dad will go there this weekend and be all sorts of impressed by it, especially Dad, LOL.

Anyway! I woke up, or rather was woken up in time to make it back home to take a shower, eat breakfast and change into my proper work clothes before heading off to Mrs S, so that was good!

And I was most relieved that I felt a lot better today! I briefly considered moving my library volunteer day to tomorrow, but I wanted to pick up the two books I put on hold that had come in and also pick up the red shirt I had embroided, so I went. It all went quite well. We're really keeping on top of the home library selections, but that's not surprising now that there's two people working on it full-time.

Gasp! Sorry I just got distracted by a bathroom with carpet in it. Ewww, I know you can get water resistant carpet or whatever you call it, but still who does that? Uncool :OP

So, I completed everything I wanted to do today! Which is always a relief. I even got around to making my lasagna and this time I didn't burn the cheese on top, whoo!

Anyway, not much else to report beyond that and I need to start getting to be earlier so I can get my 8 hours of zzzzs which means I need to be asleep by 11:30 and I have to brush my teeth and put the various stuff on my right foot.

Oh, I almost forgot one thing...I wore my purple shirt today but it proved a bit unfortunate because as I later discovered I put the buttons on wrong and three of them fell off while I was at the library! Good thing I was wearing my cardigan at the time, that could have sucked.

And...LOL...after all that I just discovered that the floor of that bathroom wasn't carpet after all, but there are ones out there!

So, I shall bid you all goodnight!

11:14pm: Fortunately this is not due to illness (knock on wood), but on the fact that I while drinking some water I sort of hiccuped and as a result inhaled half a gulp o water down the wrong pipe. It's settled down thankfully because I thought I was going to choke for a minute there! A bit scary when one lives alone.

Moving on, the rain has indeed set in for the weekend, somehow I managed to get everything hanging up in my flat, even the sheets so at least I don't have to be concerned about that. However, I am rather concerned about what this will mean for my ice skating. I always get a bit worried about driving in the rain, with any luck though perhaps it'll be calmer.

In other news I got an email today from the IT person at the library, apparently on Sunday the wi-fi network will be down! Fortunately it looks like there'll be an off-line library management system available so we won't have to do everything by hand, but considering how many people come for the computers it's going to be weird day.

I was also disappointed when I went to the Mona Vale Aldi to find the sausage dog shaped draft stoppers were sold out there too. Dang, they were the cutest little things, should have known they'd sell out quick. :O( Having said that there doesn't seem to be a draft in here, especially after Mum removed the outlet hose for the air-conditioner from the window in the bedroom. Which I really should have done myself, fail me.

However! I did have the great luck to purchase a very nice striped green business like shirt at Salvos, yay! I washed it so hopefully it'll be ready to wear on Sunday. As for Project Purple shirt, I re-sewed the collar on because it wasn't sitting right, which was really quite a pain in the butt. I also finished up the sleeves. The only thing that's left is those damn button holes...I've tried everything but I just can't get the sewing machine to do the automatic buttonhole making. Boooo. I think I might be able to manually make the outlines of the buttonholes using the machine, which hopefully won't end up biting me in the ass.

And I can only hope that it's still not too short after redoing the hem...

Anyway, time flies when you're sewing so I shall forego the memes for tonight and instead get ready to hit the hay. Zzzzs are needed! :OP

11:16pm: Which means I can't think of a good title here...I was going to make it about the fact the Aldi at Mona Vale seems to have stopped selling double length toilet paper, but I thought that'd be a bit embarrassing.

Seriously, though, where's the double length toilet paper go? That was super handy! Four rolls instead of 8, which is great in a flat such as mine where there's not a heap of space. I guess I should have gone to another Aldi, but figured they would have restocked by now. I guess I'll have to keep an eye out to see if this is a store-wide thing. I hope not!

Ha ha you know it's a slow news day for Moose when I spend a paragraph going on about toilet paper.

I had planned to do more exciting things today, such as go ice skating, but I need to get my skates sharpened which means going to the skating shop first and if I did that I'd end up finishing my skating session just as peak hour starts. Having driven in that situation before I can safely say, fuck that. I hope to go tomorrow though, although that will probably mean driving home in the dark a bit. Hopefully, not too much!

I did get to the doctor's though, however, to my great disappointment I wasn't bulk billed and thus am out of pocket $40 and I forgot about asking for a flu shot! Damn, fail! I'm not a rich person, that $40 covers my food for a week!

Unfortunately, the weird look of my toenail is a fugal infection...shit, so now I have to use this anti-fugal that could apparently take 2 months to work! Ugh. On the fortunate side, it's not related to the wart treatment I've been using, so I can go back to using it. That'll take months too...I could have it frozen off, but that would probably take more than one session and hurt. Boo.

Oh and I got to the breakfast this morning, sadly though there were no crossiants available and everything else was bloody expensive so I went with a muffin, which was very big and I didn't in fact finish. I wrapped it up in a napkin and bought it home, so I can have it tomorrow.

Right, I was thinking of doing a meme, but like I said, I'm a tired Moose so I better be off to catch up on my zzzs!

11:17pm: Not sure where that little song comes from, but it's what my mother used to always say when we got home from holidays.

And so here I am back in my humble abode, alas still with the loan car from the smash repairers, I've got a terrible feeling they haven't made a start on my car yet, it's still not ready. Then again...the insurance guy did say it'd take 10 business day to fix, so perhaps he wasn't wrong. I saw ol' George parked on the side of the road today as I did a few days ago. I didn't get a chance to check him out closely, to see if the new door was on, but I guess it isn't. Oh well, I guess I'll get him back when I get him back.

Moving on, I'm sorry to report I didn't end up going ice skating after all that, because my abdominal area was still being an ass. I slept pretty well at my friend's place, despite being on the couch. Good call bringing my own pillow! On the upside, I did get to Lincraft where I bought fabric for my Pusheen plushy. However, I didn't notice the fabric was folded when I asked for it to be cut so I have soooo much of it. Perhaps I can make multiple Pusheens...

I also went to the pool, but sadly...no activity tracker, I'm pretty sure it's gone...so it's a good thing that the Dee Why Aldi had one left! Which I bought, and found to my relief that despite the price tag saying $70 it actually scanned at $50 phew! Better keep a close eye on this one though.

Speaking of the pool...it turns out that my gym membership hasn't actually ended...the last payment was just taken out today and I'm pretty sure that was in advance. I best check on that before applying to join the gym around the corner.

After that I popped by Mum and Dad's to return the TV box (I managed to return the antenna to the Warringah Mall Aldi, even though I didn't have the receipt) and had lunch with Dad. :O) Although he reminded me that's he's supposed to be looking at my place not the otherway around! ;O)

After that I popped home and then headed off to the library for my performance review, which went very well, with any luck I'll be getting a raise in a few months, yay!

And finally the optometrist appointment! I was somewhat surprised to hear that my prescription hasn't changed much, I hope I didn't make a mistake when he was checking my eyes with the machine - you know the "Is this clearer? Number 1? Or Number 2?"

The point is when he put the new script on those temporary glasses and put it on there really wasn't much of a difference...in that case I can't really splash out on new glasses. Plus they didn't have any green ones there. :O( They did say they could get other frames in, but apparently only from other OPSMs in the city. I wonder if they could get in the same brand of glasses I all ready have, I was looking on their website and they've got some good ones. Only problem...I bet they're super expensive!

Oh well, I guess I'll wait until my Medibank Private card arrives before I make any decisions.

And I was going to do some Memes, but it's quite late now and also the eyedrops the optometrist used to measure my eye pressure have left them all dry and shit, so I shall wrap this up here.

11:21pm: Of my sewing machine. I was trying to fix up my green and white polkadot dress using a tutorial [personal profile] isleofapples was kind enough to link me too. But I sort of misunderstood and decided to try and get and get a baste stitch by hand. Which has kinda worked but I've just realised this very second what they meant by releasing the stitch tension...and that of course there'll still be a bottom stitch and a top stitch, duuuh.

Unfortunately, it's too late for me to do anything with it now, as I have to go to bed, tomorrow is work and even though I got over 10 hours sleep last night (apparently scientists are now saying you can catch up on it, make up your mind science, gee!) that's hardly an excuse to get back into debt.

It was a busy today, I fit in going to Aldi, going to the gym, dropping off Mrs S and my unwanted stuff to Vinnies, checking out Goodwill for umbrellas (no luck there), returning my library books and feeding Mum and Dad's fish.

Oh, and get out my money for rent and do my laundry. Talk about productive! I feel good. :O)

Now, usually I'd plan to do some memes, but alas I left this update a bit too late for that. I really need to plan my updating better. However! I did do my Russian, so I'm pleased about that.

Oh I also bought a hammer from the local IGA, but my wrist must not be strong enough because even though it's a rather large hammer I still can't get the U-shaped nail to go all the way in so every so often the spring springs out. I'll either have to get the landlord to come and help, or wait for Dad to get back and come for a visit. Guess it depends how clean I can get the place...

For now though I best be off!

11:25pm: Not much happened today...or rather quite a bit did happen, but none of it was super interesting. I went to the Mall hoping to find something to put under the sink to hold my washing up gloves and sponges and stuff, but apparently they weren't much options unless one wanted to screw something in - which I can't do because I'm only renting. I did consider buying a shower caddy, but I thought the little hanging bits would be too think thus I'd be unable to close the cupboard door. Maybe I should do something with suction cups...I didn't end up returning that rack to K-Mart so there's a possibility.

Speaking of suction cups, Aldi was selling suction cup shower racks too, so I bought one and what do you know, it took a bit of work but I managed to get it to stick on the wall! That's pretty cool, it seems to be holding really well. Although it's occurred to me that steam might end up causing it to fall off, especially since I enjoy hot showers. Especially when it gets colder and the window will be closed... I guess we'll have to see.

I also considered purchasing one of those bluetooth head sets, but I don't really want to stick something in my ear whenever I go driving. Then I thought maybe I should get one of those ones that has its own speaker and you just press it to answer the call. Only problem with that is that you can't actually make calls from it - because it's got no number pad or speech recognition.

So once again I looked at using voice commands on my phone - its supposed to have it and finally I discovered where it is...it's the Google app, apparently it's not just for searching the web, you can use it to open stuff on your phone too. Quite handy I got it to call Mum this evening, although not while I was driving. I'm not sure if it works when the phone's screen is turned off...I guess if I just plug it in I could keep the screen on at all times. I even dictated a short text message on it, although I didn't actually send it.

I was also trying to find some stuff for Mrs S, but alas no luck! I'm hoping to go ice skating tomorrow and some of the same shops are there so hopefully I can look there and perhaps have some luck. I also have a 7 bucks voucher to spend at Target, they wouldn't give me a refund for my fabric cube without the receipt only the voucher. Perhaps I should put it towards some new gumboots? I dunno...

And once again I've reached the end of the week without doing any memes, I'm somewhat ashamed, but I guess it can't be helped.

I also looked at my health insurance...apparently if I do nothing my Medbibank Private insurance will restart itself on the 19th June, hmmm...But I was considering going with that other company. I should look into that some more, I think.

There was a bit of worry today when I went to the pharmacy to get more medication only to find that pyschiatrist hadn't sent the new script in! Damn, I totally should have called last week! I called from the pharmacy, but my psychiatrist was seeing another patient, so I had to leave it with the receptionists and hope for the best.

Thankfully, I later got a phoncall saying everything was sorted, so I was able to pick up my script, phew, what a relief, especially since it's the one I can't stop taking suddenly! I was worried I'd have to go to the doctor and see if they could write me a stop-gap script.

And lastly...I went to my parents place and later we headed out to the Golf Club for the 10 dollar Friday dinner which this week was fish and chips, yum! Dad wasn't going to come at first because he's had a long week and had a bit of a headache, but Mum got him to come. :OP

So all in all a good day and I even got my washing done! :OD Although I've had to hang it up inside, because it looks like the weather is finally turning, but I'm not actually sure if they'll be any rain...

And I also went to the gym too, so I ticked all the boxes today!

Oh and the DVDs I ordered from Ebay arrived! Sweet! I must leave feedback for that, actually! So off I go!

Lastly...I've decided to upgrade to Windows 10, my laptop keeps telling me to do it...and Google assures me I can roll back to Windows 7 if I don't like it. Here's hoping it won't suck. :OP

11:40pm: I've done it again! But all this dubbing does distract a person from what time it is...at least that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

Anyway, I'm still here in the Granny Flat because the land lady wasn't at home when I got back from work and I also had to do my washing here (since Mum was of the opinion that one shouldn't do their washing first thing when moving into a new place) and, of course, to make a dent on the recording. I guess I can - hopefully - finish up the taping this week by coming over after my shifts at the Mall Library. I can park my car here before getting the bus.

In other news, there's two flies in the flat and they're really annoying me, but I hate bringing out the fly spray because that stuff gets everywhere and makes it hard to breathe!

Anyway, it was a busy day although I don't know how I'm going to move all my kitchen stuff...mostly because I don't have enough boxes. In fact, I don't really have any boxes. Mum brought a basket over from M's (she had to go and get her mobile phone which left behind there), but it's quite small and I've all ready filled it. I may have to use plastic bags to carry the rest of the stuff.

What else to report? Well, I got a nice green top and skirt and jacket from Aldi after work today. Hopefully, they'll fit, I've tried on the green shirt, I wonder actually if it's too big, but that's really quite confusing because according to the measurements on the size chart it should actually be a bit small. WTF? Do I just fail at measuring myself or what? So mysterious and annoying for when I make clothes! I still need to make that purple shirt after all.

Anyway, I better go in case I need to make more than one trip to the new place tomorrow morning before work.

Oh! I'm happy to report that work is going very well, it's only the second week, but I remain pleased!

Now, I bid you all goodnight!

11:03pm: Actually, it came during the night and when I woke up this morning it was coming down quite hard and since it had been warm last night before I went to bed I'd left my doors open so it was a bit chilly. This resulted in me dilly-dallying when it came to getting up and I didn't leave my place until after quarter past eight, which meant I got to work late. Do'h! I'd been doing well in the punctuality department this week, bit of a fail there.

It all turned out OK in the end, though and by the time I was finished the rain had stopped enough that I didn't end up getting soaked when I went to the Aldi, then the Coles at Mona Vale. I think I might have been imagining the matching aqua coloured toilet brushes. Dang. I did take a look at Bed, Bath and... whatever the last word is, and while the did have some toilet brushes they were super expensive. Gee, I'm gonna use the brush in the toilet I'm not spending 50 bucks on it. :OP

Anyway, I got the $300 along with some other stuff - although not the zip I thought I could get from the Mona Vale Fabric Shop, or rather you can't just get a replacement zip bit, you have to replace the whole thing which means I need to measure how long it is and all that. But right now the vest is way down in the box I put my winter clothes in, so that'll have to wait.

The fact the rain stopped for a bit also meant I was able to put stuff in the car and go over to meet Mum who bought the crate rack things this morning. Although she needs to exchange a few because when you put them on top of each other they're way too high. Also somewhat unfortunately, I discovered that the top drawers of the buffet are too short to fit DVDs in them, whoops. Not entirely sure what I'll put in them instead...I guess some books? I need to rearrange my books actually, perhaps give some away and put ones that I'm not going to read so much in the crates.

Lastly, my analogue to digital adaptor thing is now in transit, but apparently it's not estimated to arrive until Monday, booo.

And, I've just realised...I forgot to call my friend about dinner tomorrow, crap, I hope I can get hold of her tomorrow I need to know what I'm going to do with myself.

Although I do know I'll be going to the gym tomorrow, yay! And also pick up Mrs S's manual wheelchair and maybe pop by the mall to see if I can find a reasonably priced toilet brush there.

But for now I have to go to bed!

Goodnight all!

10:11pm: Regarding the smart watch - activity tracker situation...because wouldn't you know it, but when I picked up the Aldi catalogue for next week I saw that on Saturday 23rd they're gonna be selling...

Activity Trackers! For 70 bucks, and these are updated one's too, with a more watch like band and a screen that is a lot easier to read and it comes in green and is cheaper than the one I got last year. Plus it also has the clip option, so when I want to wear a watch that matches my clothes I can just put it on my pants or whatever.

Soooo...should I return the smart watch then? I really like it how it alerts me to messages and emails and phone calls, I was thinking I'd just keep it anyway, because it's not like the cost of both it and the activity tracker will break the bank for me. But...it's so bulky, so if I shove it in my pocket it's really quite noticible which rather defeats the purpose. Plus it could well fall out! Bah! What to do, what to do...

I suppose I'll ask my parents what they think, Aldi has a 60 day returns policy, although in all honesty if I'm going to return the watch I should do it sooner rather than later.

Or maybe I should just be like Doc Brown and wear a watch on each wrist :OP

Anyway! I was going to make this entry more interesting than yesterday's, which I haven't quite succeeded in doing, but I do have good news about my car! I finally got around to going to Autobarn and having them mix up some touch-up paint for the scratches. My landlord was out in the front yard when I came out to wash my car and he was nice enough to help me out with that. Obviously, the touch up paint doesn't completely cover up the scratch like it would if I went to the panel spraying guy, but you have to be standing quite close to notice.

So that's great! Although it's supposed to rain tomorrow evening - boo and typical. :OP

Now, to continue the Meme catching up... )

Right! I've made a lot of progress there, but now I better be off, as I mentioned I went to work early today but it turned out I didn't need to, that was a bit annoying, but ah well. I did finish early so there's that.

And now I say goodnight!

11:20pm: Well, the rain has stopped, but I swear it's had a terrible effect on the internet, it keeps dropping out, slowing down acting completely unreliable. I wonder though, if it's just me, usually when the internet is acting up so much the landlord will SMS me asking if I'm having problems too, but no sign of that.

Right now I'm using my mobile's data just to update this entry, so I'll have to keep this quick! First off, no sign of the Misfit, which is quite sad :O( However, when I went to Mona Vale after work today I found not only a pattern for a shirt at the Salvos for a buck that was cut out to my size, but that there was another sort of smart watch at the Aldi with a smaller dial face, so I decided what the Hell and made a purchase.

It's a pretty awesome watch although it is an analogue and missing the second (third) hand, which is a bit annoying if I want to wear it to the gym when I'm doing weights because it won't help me keep track of how much time has passed between sets. But, it lights up when I get email messages and stuff and I can even use it to make my phone ring if I can't find it! Sweeet!

Also, Mum and Dad were nice enough to give $50 towards the purchase of it as my birthday present - so that means it only cost me 5 bucks in the end, nice.

And I also finally debut my poka-dot dress since I finally hemmed it and everything! :OD It fits! Although it's not quite as well sewn as I thought, because I didn't iron it when Mum saw it she decided that it needed it and she found quite a few parts where I hadn't joined it up properly and so holes were threatening to appear. She endeavoured to fix most of them, and also managed to get the zipper to sit right. Apparently, Mum could sew back in the day and even made a dress herself long ago. :OP

Eventually, it was ironed and Mum, Dad and I headed out to the Long Reef Golf Club to enjoy $10 fish and chips in the nice weather. A good time was had by all!

So yeah, it's still not quite right so...I guess I won't wear it tomorrow to the party, but I guess a dress doesn't really lend itself to mini-golf anyway.

And on that note I better go! I have to get up at 7:30 tomorrow to get to work on time so I'm all ready late in getting to bed!

Wish me luck tomorrow! Goodnight all!

11:41pm: And now look at the time!

But once again it was a busy day, what with work, going to the gym, the mall, out to dinner... phew! Just writing it all down makes me tired, LOL. :OP

In other news, that time o' the month finally showed up yesterday just in time to screw up my weekend in regards to swimming, so rude.

Also rude...the disapearance of gum boots from shop shelves! I mean, I guess it makes sense since it's summer, but I need new ones! The only pair I saw today were at a nursery for 90 bucks! Seriously I can't afford that! I wonder though...if the ones at Rivers might not be on special after Christmas, in which case...perhaps I should wait until then. I'm still annoyed over my Just Jeans purchases that came on sale a week later!

Anyway, I have to get up early tomorrow so I can get to Aldi and buy the swimmers, so I'll have to make this a short entry...sorry! Plus my brain is all scattered so I'm not making much sense anyway.

Hopefully, I'll be more coherent tomorrow, although that's gonna be a busy day. Damn, if I get that weekend library job, I'll be working every day! I dunno if that'll be possible, I guess I'll have to think about that...Mum thinks if it happens I should ask Mrs S if I can work less days, although I don't think that'll work.

Right, yes, off to bed now.

Goodnight all!

10:20pm: Yes, it's the men's final tonight, but because time zones are an ass, I'm hardly going to have a chance to watch it, because I need to go to bed very soon because tomorrow is a work day. What a bummer, because it's the Fed-Ex up against the Joker, Fed has been on fire this competition, can he win Wimbledon again or will the Joker make it back to back wins? I know who I'm backing though, go Roger, go Roger, go! Perhaps it's better I don't watch, my guy never seems to win when I watch, LOL.

In other news I'm concerned that my sitting habits could be leading to unpleasantness, just before I went out to the gym today my lower back area the one that's been sore lately started twinging quite badly, like little spasms and stuff. Not good, not good at all. I really must be more careful with my posture, if I hurt my back with the carer's job I've got, I'll be pretty stuffed.

But hey I got to the gym and did my swimming so that was all great and I even headed off to the Aldi up at Forestway hoping that maybe they'd have long sleeve shirts in my size, but no dice. Although, I did notice while looking at them they're made in Bangledesh, which is a bit of a worry since apparently the clothing factories there have the worst working conditions of all - which means they've got to be pretty horrible.

And, dang, I've just seen the match doesn't even start until 11pm, boo, damn you England why you're time zone got to be so out of synch with Australia? Not cool.

Moving on, let's have a meme or two since I'm falling a bit behind here...

Beautiful

What’s the most beautiful thing you’ve ever read?

Hmm, interesting question...and I'm not sure how to answer it! I don't really read "beautiful" lyrical books, I tend to like straight-forward writing. So, I really don't know! My memory is failing me, how embarrassing.

Follow Friday Four Fill-Ins

The statements:

1. I hate going to the dentist because they always seem to put the chair too far back these days and also that fluroide stuff is horrible.

2. I want more hours of sunlight and less bloody freezing in the mornings!

3. I have regifted nothing from anyone that I remember, because that's how I roll. :OP

4. Sitting on my butt is the secret to my boring life. LOL.

Friday5

Hard Time

1. What’s the story of someone you know who has spent time in prison? Who do you think I hang out with? :OP As far as I know I don't know anyone who's been in prison so N/A.

2. What is the most official trouble you’ve ever been in? I got sent to the Principal's Office in Year 6 and also had the Principal come and give me a telling off in person that same year. Damn that was not a good year for me discipline-wise.
Oh wait...I forgot, I once had to go to the police station and give a statement in regards to the time I accidentally backed into a car and then drove off without leaving my information after waiting for half an hour. They also called my father (since the car was in his name) beforehand which gave him quite a shock. Bloody awkward.

3. What’s the last program you binge-watched? Well, I watched the documentary Russia: A Journey with Jonathan Dimberley last week - although there was only five eps so it wasn't exactly a binge watch.

4. What would be good prison nicknames for a few people you know? Uh, I ca't really think of any honestly, I don't actually know what passes for a prison nickname!

5. Of the usual prison jobs (library, electrical shop, laundry, cafeteria, gardener, clerical, etc.), which would you ask to be assigned to? Feel free to be creative! Library! Library! Damn son, I'd almost commit a crime just to do that - no no, I'm kidding. Don't report me. :OP

The (Other) Friday Five

These questions were written by kennycreeper.

1) If you had to eat nothing but CEREAL for a week, what types would you eat? Damn, I do enjoy my Balanced Right but every meal for a week? I'd probably have to bring in some Honey-Nut Crunch, Komplete and what the Hell let's have some Cocoa Pops

2) Have you ever bought candy/cereal/snack JUST for the PRIZE inside?
Nope because I don't think we have that here in Australia.

3) What is the earliest you have ever been drunk? N/A

4) Name one thing you have taken apart and could NOT put back together. Hmm, scratches head...I'm not sure to be honest, not much of a take-things-apart person.

5) Three musketeers or three stooges? Never watched either, but I like the sound of the Three Musketeers more.

And on that note, it's time for me to hit the sheets, just as the Roger wins the first game, come on Roger keep it up!

I hope to wake up to good news, for now, goodnight!

Oh Crap...

Jul. 11th, 2015 11:53 pm
anonymoose_au: (Hey! Bitches)
11:23pm: Firstly, look at the time! It's almost 11:30! Secondly, I just realised I haven't visited my friends Springfields in Tapped Out which means I'll have to skip doing so on Sunday because it only lets you visit them once every 24 hours and I'll be asleep by this time tomorrow. Thirdly, my phone case has totally died, the phone won't stay in place inside it anymore...and the replacement case I got from Ebay hasn't shown up yet. Hopefully, it won't be long.

In sports news, weird shit at Le Tour De France where some guy got thrown out for testing positive to cocaine. Honestly, what is it with cyclists? Although having said that a couple of football players here in Australia got busted for taking coke too, but you'd think you'd avoid taking it when you're doing something like Le Tour where they drug test pretty much everyone at least once.

There's also some very sad sports related news, Plushy's mother has died and she was only 59, my mother's age (well take a year). To make matters sadder, Plushy was in Japan at the time, so he didn't even get to be with her when she died, it's all rather depressing.

There's quite an interesting ladies Wimbledon Final going on, Serena Williams versus a rather unknown Spainard called Gabine Mugruza, will Serena get her Serena Slam or with the Spainard take it? Gabine is leading 4 games to 2 in the first set so far, but it's early yet.

And oh shit...I think it's raining outside, a cold front is supposed to be coming in tomorrow (the temperature's predicted to get no higher than 13 degrees C, but they didn't say anything about rain and my washing is out on the line. Fuuuuk. I hate it when my washing gets rained on, it ruins the nice smell of the clothes from the machine. But it's too late to rush out there now, plus I'm pretty sure it's cold as ice out there.

What else to report? Well, those long sleeved shirts I got from Aldi proved to be too big! I'm pretty sure the measurements for the sizes are iffy or something, because I picked the size that corresponded with the measurements I took the other day (which was a size 14), but nope they were too big. Rude! So I had to return them in the end because I couldn't find any size 12's at the Dee Why Grand Aldi or the Warringah Mall Aldi. Oh and the Robot vacuum cleaners had also all been sold, boo hiss. Guess it wasn't meant to be.

I did at least manage to get to the gym before going to church and C finally saw the newly cleaned flat, so go me.

Once again, I was going to do Memes but time has run out so I'll have to leave them for tomorrow.

Serena has hit her stride, she may take this set out yet!

Goodnight all!

11:20pm: Yes, I finally got to do it today! It's still school holidays so the lunch time session goes for two hours from 12:30 to 2:30, so I was able to get there after seeing the pyschiatrist. Although, I didn't really think too hard about it, but the website mentioned the session would be a Disco Session with a live DJ and everything. As you can imagine it was pretty busy when I got there! In addition to that, the music was very loud, so loud I had to cut the corner of the rink so I wouldn't end up deafened from it. Fortunately, the music was all right, no copious amounts of swearing or anything like that.

Actually, it was a rather close thing, I got to the rink five minutes past the half hour (not that that made any difference to the cost, it was a 20 buck flat rate), because it took me a bit of time to find a parking spot in the Mall. But nearly as long as it could have, I was about to go to one of the lower levels and suddenly...a spot appeared! I felt a little bad about taking it, because I didn't even see it at first! But oh well, I guess the stars aligned for my skating. :OP

After the skating I went to Target where I finally got around to buying some singlets...two in fact - I wonder I should have splashed out and got five? One for each work day, but I dunno...seemed a bit extreme. Although they were only three bucks each.

I also went to the Aldi at Macquarie to see if there were any robot vacuums there, but nope. Hmmm...I wonder, should I buy one while they're still at Dee Why Grand, they are only $125, on the other hand, what if it doesn't work very well? That'd suck. I did however buy two skivvys for $10, a red one and white one, nice.

Actually, I thought my fit counter wasn't working, it ran out of battery last night so I plugged it into one of those USB socket plugs, but it didn't seem to be charging when I went to bed, and this was confirmed when I woke up this morning and it was still flat. Do'h. I tried plugging it into the laptop's USB, but still nothing! It was only when I plugged the USB plug into the outlet then inserted the fit counter into the actual charging thing that it worked. Hmpf, didn't say anything in the manual about that. Oh well, the more you know.

Anyway, everything went well today, except I was almost late to my pyschiatrist appointment, remind me not to go to Chatswood via the Spit Bridge and Mosman, at least not in the holidays, takes ages! Plus I parked a bit too far from where the consulting rooms are located. But the doctor was also running a bit late, so it all worked pretty well! I got to tell him my great news and he gave me good advice about planning stuff so I know what to do in different scenarios to go with the new job. Good plan.

And it's getting close to midnight, so I better wrap this entry up, plus I'm quite sleepy, nothing like skating to use up energy! And I don't want to be too late waking up tomorrow, Mum is coming over to give me a new hat she bought for me and also to see what clothes I can give away.

So, I bid you all goodnight!

9:20pm: Because for some reason the internet died and I'm using my phone's bandwidth. Although I suppose with my new plan and five days of the month left along with the fact I've still got about 1Gb left I guess it's not too much of a worry. However, I've been getting to bed a bit too late, so it's a good idea to update a bit earlier anyway.

There's not much to report today, I was considering going ice skating today, but I somehow ended up getting heartburn this morning as well as a terrible taste in my mouth I couldn't get rid of and then to top it off I had a fair bit of abdominal pain, so that plan went out the window. However, I did go to the shops after work because I need to buy some toilet paper from Aldi and I've been wondering about getting a new heater and wanted to look in the hardware shop.

I'm also reminded that I need to get some nice black pants, in case I need to do a job interview or something, so I went to Lifeline, where I found a possibly decent pair...except it lacked pockets! So I held off on that, however, they have some new bras there, which I couldn't resist since they were less than $10 each and two very nice ones - one red and one purple (with aqua and pink accents) - in my size, which I tried on and they fit perfectly so I figured, what the Hell. Of course, there was no matching underwear to go with them, which is rather unfortunate, but what can you do?

I went to Salvos where most stuff was 50% off, but alas there were no decent black pants there at all! However, I did purchase a Homer Simpson style beanie! It's so cute, I don't really have a good picture of it at th moment, but I'll see what I can do.

Didn't end up buying a heater, but I did get a timer switch, because when I wake up in the mornings it's as cold as ice in the flat! My plan is to put my current heater on the timer so it turns on an hour before I wake up, so it'll hopefully be sort of warm. I should look into buying a bigger sized heater though, this tiny bathroom one is probably not up to the job. I did actually find a heater that looks almost exactly like the "old-timey" inspired one my parents gave me which doesn't actually seem to heat. I'm not sure if I should be buying a heater from the Reject Shop though...Perhaps I should investigate the Good Guys or 2nds World or something.

Anyway! I better be off, because I need to clean up a bit before I go to bed, it's still looking quite sad here in the flat.

So, I bid you all goodnight!
