10:56pm: Well, I didn't get to updating this yesterday, but let me just announce...

Roger Federer is the GOAT! He won his 8th Wimbledon Title on Sunday and is the BOOSSSS of tennis! What a guy! You gotta love him! :OD

And apparently he plans to come back to Wimbledon next year! We'll have to see though. :O)

Moving along, I ended up staying over at the parental abode last night as well, because Mum and I watch Have You Been Paying Attention?, such hilarious times! Although I realised I left my cupcake tray behind, whoops. I'm sure Mum will bring it over tomorrow since she'll be coming over after Scripture Class, which means I need to clean this place up. I've been working on it...slowly, but I'm really going to need to pull my finger out after finishing work with Mrs. S.

What else to report? Nothing much, worked at the library this afternoon, it was kind of boring because they had Duke of Edinburg students volunteering, which means they did the shelving rather than me. Also, I was so close to finishing the book I've been reading, which I borrowed from there and was hoping to return, I've finished it now, but I don't if I should go return it tomorrow since I need to go to the supermarket, however as I said I need to clean my house!

I guess I don't need to return it, but I've had it out for quite a while and I feel rather bad for hogging it. But what can you do?

Right, I better wrap this up because I need to get ready for bed and do my Russian practice.

Wish me luck with my cleaning!

Goodnight all!

11:29pm: The Fed-Express! He's at Wimbledon right now, playing for what could be his 8th Title! Of course, I'm not gonna be able to watch the whole thing because it's only just started and I suck at staying up late even if it's only for one night.

He's just broken serve, but who knows what's going to happen because he's up against a tough competitor! Not Nadal, but a super tall guy from Croatia who has beaten him once. So fingers and toes.

So, I'm here at Mum and Dad's place so Mum and I can watch the Final together, Mum suggested having a Wimbledon inspired supper of finger sandwiches, vanilla cupcakes with jam and cream and strawberries and cream. Very elegant! Mum took a photo of me, but it's not my best angle, LOL! I'm also wearing the Tennis T-shirt I got many years ago, hopefully it'll be good luck.

Anywho, I better make this entry quick as time is getting on and having done my Russian yet (I forgot yesterday and lost my eight day streak, boo) and my tablet battery is getting rather low.

Plus, it's not like I have much to report, I went to church, went to work, made the cupcakes and came over here.

And whoot! Fed-Ex has taken the first set, come oooon you can do it!

And now I shall wrap this up, goodnight all!

11:28pm: There's not a lot to say about it probably, since all the competitiors have to wear white, but they've got a Frenchman playing and his got a bushy beard! LOL I've never seen a tennis player with a beard before! Actually that seems to be an athlete thing, I know body hair is the enemy of swimmers, divers and cyclists, but you don't see other athletes with them either. Hmm, maybe it's all the sweater.

In other news, I'm relieved to report that I've managed to get through a road block in my fan fic! I've been stuck on it for the past few days, but finally some inspiration hit. Yay, go me!

So I didn't end up updating yesterday after all because that's how I roll, but let it be said, it was a great get together for my cousin Mack's birthday. Some of his maternal cousins were there, who I don't think I've met before, interesting people.

I had a cheese burger with chips on the side (I also put the lettuce that was in the burger on the side, because who wants warm lettuce? Why is that a thing anyway?) Very nice, although the cheese could have been meltier, it's hard to find good cheese.

Mack liked the Google gift card my little bro and I got for him - which reminds me I forgot to give the little bro my bank details so he can pay me back, whoops! - and the card I made. I drew Mr Burns in his "Excellent" pose since we enjoyed the play.

Aunt Jo made a rather interesting cake with caramelised apple and...I'm not sure what else, not chocolate though, because my aunt doesn't cook with chocolate. But there was dollop cream to go with it so yuuum!

Plus let's not forget the fact I took a paid day off work, so yay!:O)

Anywho, it's ten minutes to midnight now, so I better go, I've got work tomorrow at 9:30am and I need to make sure I get the proper amount of zzzs.

Wish me luck with my story and goodnight all!

9:43pm: It's really annoying, especially since I feel like washing them in hot water would fix it, but the optometrist told me that would be a bad idea. And thinking on it he's probably right and that probably explains why the polarising coating on my glasses is sometimes a bit messed up. Sometimes they don't go dark in bright light in a uniform manner.

Maybe I'll have to buy those special glasses cleaning things, although I feel like they're not very environmentally friendly.

Moving on, not much to report, although the rain has set in and is expected to last all the way to Monday - bugger. Especially since it's sheet washing this week and that's huge pain in the ass when it's raining, I don't have anywhere to hang the sheets properly inside my Granny Flat. Maybe I should look into buying a larger drying rack.

Ow, my eyeballs hurt, not sure if that's got to do with my glasses or my lack of zzzzs, I still keep getting only 7.5 hours a night, get with the program me!

I keep getting distracted by this DVD I'm watching so almost an hour has past and this entry is depressingly short. Evidentally I don't have any deep and meaningful things to say. :OP

Oh! Very good news, the Fed-Ex did it! He managed to turn the game around from 2 sets down so now he's going into the semi-finals, whoo! Although, he's up against The Sleeve or rather Raonic or perhaps I should go with a friend of mine's nickname for him "Freddo" because he bares a striking resemblance to the Freddo Frog. Go Fed-Ex! :OD

Right, before I head off here's a meme:

10:21pm: Because everyone is wearing white...sometimes it's really quite hard to tell the players apart, especially if they're both wearing hats! Although the Fed-Ex is on and he wears a headband thing so...

However! They've only just started playing the game, so I won't be seeing much of it, which is quite a disappointment. I've been reading the rather odd biography on him I found at Mona Vale Library and it's reminded me how nice it is to watch Fed-Ex in action! :OD Although he's old in tennis years now, he's still great!

Sure wish that Fed-Ex merchandise wasn't so pricey! I want a hat, or maybe one of the shirts that says "Roger That!" LOL.

In other news...I've forgotten what I was about to type...oh wait! I signed up for Camp NaNoWriMo I'm hoping to get into writing again because I've been so failing at it as of late. I dunno where my mojo went...damn shame. I meant to get a star on things tonight, but alas I started to read some of my old stuff and now look at the time! :OP

Anyway, I didn't get to see the Granny Flat today since the tenants are still in there and obviously a time needs to be set up that's convenient for everyone, and that turns out to be 2pm tomorrow so I'll have a report then.

However, I've all ready sent the application in online and it looks like the agent's all ready got to work on it because when I went downstairs to the landlord's place to ask about a reference they told me they'd all ready had a call! Man, that's some fast work.

Right, I didn't get enough zzzzs last night despite my best efforts so I better wrap this up and head off now. Fed-Ex's managed to take the first set and has played some kick-ass shots so I'm hopefully of his continuing success.

Fingers crossed for Fed-Ex all!

9:59pm: For the election which was today. And unlike last time thing's are looking way better...the Liberals who have been screwing us over for the past three years look to end up in a minority government, which basically means they can't just do whatever the Hell they want.

Depressingly, though, the ex-Prime Minister Tony Abbott is still in his seat, unbelievable, I know this side of Sydney is conservative but that guy is the biggest fuckwit. Seriously, I'm embarrassed for people.

Moving on, Dad went to look at the granny flat for me todzy and reported that it doesn't smell, is quite large, in a nice backyard with the only drawbacks being that it's kind of old looking and doesn't have as many windows as my current place.

So, I prepared to send in my application for it, this the first time I've gone through an agent for something like this and damn is it involved, not only do I need work references, prior landlord references, but two more unrelated references! Oh and of course I need to provide 100 points of ID, which sadly, I can't do right now because I'm at the grandparentals. Oh well, I'll text the real estate agent to arrange a time on Monday for Mum and I to see the place and let her know I'll be sending it over in the evening.

So, things at least seem to be progressing well on that front.

Funnily enough, Dad knows the real estate agent from when he taught her at school! This probably won't have any affect on my application getting through, but hey, small world.

What else? Well, voting today took longer than usual, the polling place was just next door to the library and there was a line there the entire time we were open! No idea why, especially with all the comments about so many people doing early voting...although there's a suggestion the Electoral Commission might have over-estimated that and thus provided less polling booths today.

I didn't even get a sausage for my trouble (the sausage sizzle is an election day institution here in Australia).

After finally voting, I exchanged my sheets for ones with darker green on them, they're bird print actually and very nice.

Then the original plan had been to go straight to M and Grandpa's, but Mum went and saw M today and ended up taking her out shopping so she wasn't home. I thought maybe the whole thing was going to be called off, but nope, which is good, because Grandpa had made moussaka for dinner.

M did need to take a rest after getting home though, so Canasta didn't begin until nearly 5pm and I kicked butt in the first hand, but alas I lost the next two hands, neither of us has got to 5,000 yet, so I need to get to bed sooner rather than later.

So I should probably wrap this up then.

On a final note though, Le Tour De France has begun! Overlapping with Wimbledon! Man, I can't even stay up very late to enjoy those.

Oh well...

I'll be off now, though.

Goodnight all!
anonymoose_au: (Brownies)
10:31pm: By which I mean the grass at Wimbledon, not some sort of marjuana joke :OP.

In this particular case, I've just been watching one of the Australia women, Sam Stouser get beaten in straight sets in the second round. Or was it the first? I'm not actually sure because it rained yesterday so some matches rolled over to today.

But yeah! Sam Stouser did super well at the French Open, which is on clay, but apparently grass isn't her thing. Shame that. However! We do have another Aussie woman, so fingers crossed she can win her game. She's up next, sadly I won't be able to watch it or at least not much of it because I have to get to bed, no joke, according to my Up Move I didn't even manage seven hours last night! Totally uncool. Although that probably explains why I was rather scatter brained at Mrs S's today. Man, I gotta keep it together! :OP

Although my app tells me that time o' the month is also approaching quickly, which could also be a contributed, damn annoying thing that it is.

However! I did manage to get everything done today, both the gym and the library volunteering, although I should steer clear of working out on Thursdays, because I didn't get to the library today until ten to 3pm! This meant that it was getting dark when I left. So I must aim to get there at 2pm or perhaps earlier because around 4:30 the traffic gets shitty (although it probably won't be the next few weeks because the school holidays are on).

Aw no, it's starting to rain at Wimbledon again. The umbrellas are coming out, it doesn't look good at all and there's only one court that has a closing roof in the place, which to be honest seems to be quite an oversight for a country like England where it rains quite a lot. In fact, they only recently but the centre court roof closing thing in, only a few years back. People were calling for it for aaages.

Anywho, I guess I should take this as my cue to exit, like I said, I gotta catch up with those zzzs!

One last observation about Wimbledon...they seem to have done away with the "Miss" and "Mr" titles on the scoreboard! I couldn't have sworn they used to be there. They still call the player "Miss or "Mr" but yeah...it used to be on the actual scoreboard.

And lastly, Milos Ranoic the Canadian known as "The Sleeve" is out there...playing without his sleeve?! What voodoo is this? That's his trademark! Who dispenses with their trademark. Shocking.

Right, I'm leaving for real this time! ;O)

10:20pm: Yes, it's the men's final tonight, but because time zones are an ass, I'm hardly going to have a chance to watch it, because I need to go to bed very soon because tomorrow is a work day. What a bummer, because it's the Fed-Ex up against the Joker, Fed has been on fire this competition, can he win Wimbledon again or will the Joker make it back to back wins? I know who I'm backing though, go Roger, go Roger, go! Perhaps it's better I don't watch, my guy never seems to win when I watch, LOL.

In other news I'm concerned that my sitting habits could be leading to unpleasantness, just before I went out to the gym today my lower back area the one that's been sore lately started twinging quite badly, like little spasms and stuff. Not good, not good at all. I really must be more careful with my posture, if I hurt my back with the carer's job I've got, I'll be pretty stuffed.

But hey I got to the gym and did my swimming so that was all great and I even headed off to the Aldi up at Forestway hoping that maybe they'd have long sleeve shirts in my size, but no dice. Although, I did notice while looking at them they're made in Bangledesh, which is a bit of a worry since apparently the clothing factories there have the worst working conditions of all - which means they've got to be pretty horrible.

And, dang, I've just seen the match doesn't even start until 11pm, boo, damn you England why you're time zone got to be so out of synch with Australia? Not cool.

Moving on, let's have a meme or two since I'm falling a bit behind here...

Beautiful

What’s the most beautiful thing you’ve ever read?

Hmm, interesting question...and I'm not sure how to answer it! I don't really read "beautiful" lyrical books, I tend to like straight-forward writing. So, I really don't know! My memory is failing me, how embarrassing.

Follow Friday Four Fill-Ins

The statements:

1. I hate going to the dentist because they always seem to put the chair too far back these days and also that fluroide stuff is horrible.

2. I want more hours of sunlight and less bloody freezing in the mornings!

3. I have regifted nothing from anyone that I remember, because that's how I roll. :OP

4. Sitting on my butt is the secret to my boring life. LOL.

Friday5

Hard Time

1. What’s the story of someone you know who has spent time in prison? Who do you think I hang out with? :OP As far as I know I don't know anyone who's been in prison so N/A.

2. What is the most official trouble you’ve ever been in? I got sent to the Principal's Office in Year 6 and also had the Principal come and give me a telling off in person that same year. Damn that was not a good year for me discipline-wise.
Oh wait...I forgot, I once had to go to the police station and give a statement in regards to the time I accidentally backed into a car and then drove off without leaving my information after waiting for half an hour. They also called my father (since the car was in his name) beforehand which gave him quite a shock. Bloody awkward.

3. What’s the last program you binge-watched? Well, I watched the documentary Russia: A Journey with Jonathan Dimberley last week - although there was only five eps so it wasn't exactly a binge watch.

4. What would be good prison nicknames for a few people you know? Uh, I ca't really think of any honestly, I don't actually know what passes for a prison nickname!

5. Of the usual prison jobs (library, electrical shop, laundry, cafeteria, gardener, clerical, etc.), which would you ask to be assigned to? Feel free to be creative! Library! Library! Damn son, I'd almost commit a crime just to do that - no no, I'm kidding. Don't report me. :OP

The (Other) Friday Five

These questions were written by kennycreeper.

1) If you had to eat nothing but CEREAL for a week, what types would you eat? Damn, I do enjoy my Balanced Right but every meal for a week? I'd probably have to bring in some Honey-Nut Crunch, Komplete and what the Hell let's have some Cocoa Pops

2) Have you ever bought candy/cereal/snack JUST for the PRIZE inside?
Nope because I don't think we have that here in Australia.

3) What is the earliest you have ever been drunk? N/A

4) Name one thing you have taken apart and could NOT put back together. Hmm, scratches head...I'm not sure to be honest, not much of a take-things-apart person.

5) Three musketeers or three stooges? Never watched either, but I like the sound of the Three Musketeers more.

And on that note, it's time for me to hit the sheets, just as the Roger wins the first game, come on Roger keep it up!

I hope to wake up to good news, for now, goodnight!

Oh Crap...

Jul. 11th, 2015 11:53 pm
anonymoose_au: (Hey! Bitches)
11:23pm: Firstly, look at the time! It's almost 11:30! Secondly, I just realised I haven't visited my friends Springfields in Tapped Out which means I'll have to skip doing so on Sunday because it only lets you visit them once every 24 hours and I'll be asleep by this time tomorrow. Thirdly, my phone case has totally died, the phone won't stay in place inside it anymore...and the replacement case I got from Ebay hasn't shown up yet. Hopefully, it won't be long.

In sports news, weird shit at Le Tour De France where some guy got thrown out for testing positive to cocaine. Honestly, what is it with cyclists? Although having said that a couple of football players here in Australia got busted for taking coke too, but you'd think you'd avoid taking it when you're doing something like Le Tour where they drug test pretty much everyone at least once.

There's also some very sad sports related news, Plushy's mother has died and she was only 59, my mother's age (well take a year). To make matters sadder, Plushy was in Japan at the time, so he didn't even get to be with her when she died, it's all rather depressing.

There's quite an interesting ladies Wimbledon Final going on, Serena Williams versus a rather unknown Spainard called Gabine Mugruza, will Serena get her Serena Slam or with the Spainard take it? Gabine is leading 4 games to 2 in the first set so far, but it's early yet.

And oh shit...I think it's raining outside, a cold front is supposed to be coming in tomorrow (the temperature's predicted to get no higher than 13 degrees C, but they didn't say anything about rain and my washing is out on the line. Fuuuuk. I hate it when my washing gets rained on, it ruins the nice smell of the clothes from the machine. But it's too late to rush out there now, plus I'm pretty sure it's cold as ice out there.

What else to report? Well, those long sleeved shirts I got from Aldi proved to be too big! I'm pretty sure the measurements for the sizes are iffy or something, because I picked the size that corresponded with the measurements I took the other day (which was a size 14), but nope they were too big. Rude! So I had to return them in the end because I couldn't find any size 12's at the Dee Why Grand Aldi or the Warringah Mall Aldi. Oh and the Robot vacuum cleaners had also all been sold, boo hiss. Guess it wasn't meant to be.

I did at least manage to get to the gym before going to church and C finally saw the newly cleaned flat, so go me.

Once again, I was going to do Memes but time has run out so I'll have to leave them for tomorrow.

Serena has hit her stride, she may take this set out yet!

9:26pm: Because it's made me worried about my waist circumference (my BMI is fine, but that can be sort of dodgy) and uhoh, it's not too good. In fact it's periliously close to the high danger category - unless I've measured wrong. Dang, how concerning. I thought I was looking a little rotund in the gut area, guess I'll have to keep up the squats at the gym! And keep away from the Nutella...again (that bastard).

Speaking of the gym, I meant to go today, my abdomen was being a jerk so I didn't, which is rather annoying seeing as I took my gym bag with me. But it was also library volunteer day and I was all out of steam by the end of that, I tell you some of those Home Library Service clients make it hard...like people who want 20 books each time. Man, some people read a lot!

However! I did manage to go to the hardware shop and get some sandpaper for my bathroom vanity - a couple of weeks ago I put my straightner on it in the incorrect manner and it melted some of it leaving a rather sharp point. As you can imagine this makes wiping it clean with the sponge hard to do because it gets caught. Long story short, I explained this to the hardware shop guy who got me the right grade of sandpaper and now it's no longer a hazard.

I mopped the floor this morning before leaving, as I promised Mum I would, so go me, except I kind of left it a bit late and thus ended up missing the bus, which kind of stressed me out a bit even though I have the car and drove that. But you know, I had things all planned out in my brain etc.

And I burned the top of my mouth eating dinner, ow...why I gotta do this to myself? Fail.

What else to report? Well, the Fed-Ex is up against Murray in the semi-final of Wimbledon, will the Fed continue to be awesome? Will Murray make Britain proud? I hope for Roger! This is the 10th time he's been in a Wimbledon semi, and if he gets to the final it could be an 8th Wimbledon title for the Fabulous Fed.

Now, the new Embarrassing Bodies is on so I shall be off to watch that! :O) Tomorrow is the pyschiatrist appointment so I need to get to bed at a reasonable hour so I get enough zzzzs.

Wish me luck, then!

Goodnight all!

PS. Oh wait, I've checked it out and it turns out I was measuring the wrong way, no need to panic people, remain calm! :O)

10:19pm: Of the We Don't Need Roads book, which is proving to be thoroughly engaging, so much background information! Ah, I love this stuff!

In other news, I planned to go skating after work today, but these plans were derailed by several factors, firstly, Mrs S needed me to stay a bit longer to help unpack some stuff, then I got that weird pain in my left hip area, there was a bit of a wait for the bus and lastly the run of clear skies has come to an end and it started to rain. It started while I was still working, then went away, but by the time I got back to Dee Why it was coming down again, do'h. So I went home and ended up just sitting on my butt for the rest of the evening.

And Wimbledon has come on and awww, Little Lleyton has ended his final open tennis match in the mixed doubles, farewell Lleyton! You were a great tennis player and have done Aussieland proud!

Aussie tennis is in a bit of trouble at the moment, mainly because of the men, there's like one Aussie man he doesn't make a dick of himself and act like a spoiled brat. Things have got nasty when one of our Australian sports legends - Dawn Fraser (a great swimmer) decided to make what could only be construed as a racist or at the very least prejudiced comment. Basically these three Aussies all have "foreign" sounding surnames, two of them Greek sounding and the other...Slavic or something? Anywho basically the comment was that if two of these particular players couldn't behave themselves they should go back to "where their parents came from". A comment that clearly wouldn't be made if their last names were Smith...or Fraser. Honestly, what the fuck? Makes you embarrassed to be Australian.

Anyway, hopefully these young chaps can pull their heads in so we can cheer for them without cringing whenever they decide to have a dummy spit.

Speaking of sports, there's also drama on Le Tour where three big crashes yesterday resulted in one of the favourites to win had to withdraw! Not to mention various injuries and they had to put the race into "neutral" so the riders wouldn't hurt themselves any further. I swear these last two years, I don't remember this many crashes happening before. I know someone died in the tour once, but I thought they made lots of safety improvements after that...?

It's a bit of a worry because today's stage involves...cobblestones the nemesis of bicycles that don't have wheels with traction on them! We can only hope everyone gets through safely enough, last year it was a huge mess.

Although, I won't know about it until tomorrow because I need to go to bed very soon. Luckily, there's not much else for me to report, except of started on another book one I got from the library, and I'm a bit concerned at my treatment of said book, I put it on the couch and I've managed to crease it a bit. Poor book, it looked so nice when I borrowed it. Fail, just fail.

And I have to figure out if I'm going to take the car tomorrow or not...I guess I will with the weather being what it is. Which means I can sleep in a little, nice.

Oh and one last thing before I go...I finally remembered to take the cupcakes - though it was a close thing, I had to go back upstairs and get them - good think I originally left the flat with ten minutes to spare so didn't miss the bus. They were well received by Mrs S and her husband and perhaps the other carer, I'm not sure if she ate one.

Right, must be off now.

10:29pm: Because I didn't watch the movie today! But I was out a lot today, first I went to the gym, then I bought a new swimsuit at the Togs shop - as it's closing down and everything's half-price, and by the time I got home there was hardly any time to spare before I had to turn around and head out for church! And on my way home I stopped by Aldi planning to get the penguin themed beanie, scarf and glove/mitten set, but I mixed up which Aldi I saw it at and went to the wrong one. However, it wasn't a waste because I got a new block of lite cheddar cheese and while waiting at the register I saw a single electric blanket waiting to be put back out (I assume) and purchased that too, it's heating up my bed as I type.

And then when I got home there was Father Brown to watch and then I got distracted and by the time I remembered Wimbledon was starting with Fed-Ex up against an Aussie. I'm going for the Fed-Ex of course, because he's the best.

Still, I should load up BTTF into the DVD player tomorrow, but I definitely need to make sure I watch the films on 21st October! Or at least the first part of Part II that takes place on that date - since it is a Wednesday and I might be working!

I did take a BTTF quiz that was linked on Facebook and I nailed it, although as a dedicated Backie I'd expect that. ;O)

In other news, the internet is being a dick, I swear, the change over to Optus can't happen fast enough, Telstra just wants to be a dick!

9:24pm: So I'm watching a doco about this guy who killed his wife's teenage lover in the head and somehow managed to get off without any time served. Seriously, what the fuck? I didn't think that "She's having an affair, my masculinity!" defense flew these days? Plus, you know, he didn't shot his wife, he shot the third party.

Now admittedly having an affair with your student is fucked up, but I put it to the US Justice System that it's somewhat less fucked up then shooting said student in the head.

Basically what seems to have happened is the jury decided that it was the wife's fault for being a dirty whore so they let the husband off for murder. I find this rather offensive to justice.

Now I'm watching a doco called Dead Again, which is about two experienced detectives reinvestigating controversial murder cases, although I find it rather hard to believe these guys wouldn't know about this particular case (it's a big ass case) and they're not supposed to know about the case beforehand.

Moving on, today was the big day, moving day! It was all systems go and I'm quite surprised and impressed at how the moving guys managed to fit everything in the truck! It must have been like Tetris in there, LOL.

It took quite a while though and not everything is packed, basically most of the plates and whatnot in the kitchen, but it's not like someone else is moving into their old house tomorrow or something (not like with me!) so this isn't a huge problem.

Also, admittedly I had to put quite a few things in my car, but nothing too heavy or anything like that and Mrs S very kindly bought me lunch.

In other news, my feet are cold! The internet tells me that the best way to clear up the athlete's foot, beyond using the anti-fungal spray is to keep my feet bare and exposed to the air, which really sucks when it's winter, I've got the heater on but it's still chilly. It seems to be clearing up, so fingers crossed.

What else to report? Not much, although I did realise why I was running so low on money and had to dip into my savings, I never paid myself back for some expenses I had to cover for my parents whilst they were away. However, a new expense will be coming up soon, I'll be paying for half the Foxtel, which I guess is fair enough, it'll be about $45 a month.

Oh! And I rang about the Lifetime Health Cover Loading thing and have been assured by my Health provider that my suspended membership will keep me from getting slugged for not been covered. I sure hope that's right...I don't want to call Centrelink because it takes over half an hour to answer, if they do at all. I suppose I could go in in person, it's still a long wait but at least they get back to you!

Finally, Wimbledon started last night, but alas, Little Lleyton didn't make it through, he's still playing Doubles though and this was his 17th Wimbledon! Gotta applaud the man for that. And he got lots of kudos from the greats of the game, hooray!

I only just remembered that it's on so I've quickly switched over to watch, it's a nice day in London! And of course you can't beat the class that are tennis whites on a grass court. Right now I'm watching Rafal Nadal go up against some kid I've never heard of, wonder how that'll go!

And lastly, I went through my apps on my mobile and discovered what was probably behind me running out of data this month, I had most of them on 'auto-update'! Damn, I though I told them not to do that, very irritating. Oh well, July starts tomorrow so I'll be able to use Mobile Data once more, and thank God for that because The Simpsons: Tapped Out doesn't work all that well through wi-fi. At least not here.

Right, I better be off now, although I don't have to start work until 9:30am tomorrow, Mrs S says we all need to recover from today! Still, can't stay up too late, even if the Fed-Ex is up on Centre Court after the women's match.

For now I bid you all, goodnight!

anonymoose_au: (Hey! Bitches)
7:52pm: Indeed so, because tomorrow is moving day! And I need to get to Mrs S's at...wait for it...6 AM! Oh mer gerd! That means I have to be asleep by 9:15 so I can wake up at 5:15 having to my eight hours. Which is why I'm updating this now, rather early for me! Also, the internet is acting up a bit, so I want to make sure I do this now. I'm a bit concerned about the internet weirdness, I don't need it, especially since I've run out of data on my mobile and can't use the mobile network until Wednesday when July starts.

Anyway, busy day today what with work, and library volunteering and the gym! All went well, except for the fact that I couldn't find my gym shoes this morning so I had to take my new ones - which I found to very tight indeed. It says size 7 on them, but the little sticker on the bottom of them had 6 on it. I certainly hope there hasn't been a mistake and it's just because they're new. Otherwise, I'm kind of stuffed since I took the stickers off so now there's no evidence of conflicting sizes.

Incidentally, I found my old pair of gym shoes, they were on my "clothes chair", I have no idea why I put them there...they were also covered by a few of my clothes, which was why I couldn't find them! Mystery solved. :OP

Moving along, I mentioned the adorable souvineers my parents got me during their trip and said I'd get a photo, and indeed I have! Here it is. Look the little faces on the lip balms and that's a Prince Consort Albert decoration, I guess for a Christmas Tree, which actually makes sense because it was he who introduced the German tradition of Christmas Trees to his wife, Queen Victoria and thus Britain as a whole.

Speaking of trees...I haven't planted the shrub yet and when I got home today it was looking a little wilted...shit. I gave it some water, but I need to get a pot and some soil for it ASAP! I'd hate for it to die!

Right time is getting on, so I better wrap up the memes and then this entry!

Saturday 9

:I Miss You (1997):

... because Smellyann suggested it

1) In this song, Bjork knows what she's looking for in a mate, she just hasn't met him yet. If you are/were still looking for The One, what two qualities would you hope he/she possessed? Eh, not looking, but if I was I guess it would be a good sense of humour and niceness.

2) The lyrics ask if you believe "that a dream can come true." Do you believe that dreams come true if you wish hard enough? Dunno...sometimes they do, but sometimes they don't! It's a matter of luck, and probably a bit of hard work ;O)

3) Bjork turns 50 this year. Do you treat "milestone" birthdays differently? Or to you, is your age just a number? Well, I did have a big 21st Birthday party, but my 30th wasn't as exciting. I enjoy birthdays though for the friends, cake and presents, be they "milestone" or just regular.

4) Bjork was always highly musical. At the tender age of 6 she began studying classical piano and flute. Sam is impressed because at the age of 6, she was still trying to master tying her shoes. Do you consider yourself musical? Ha ha ha, no. I can't even clap in time, and I have no ability to carry a tune.

5) She was born and raised in Reykjavik, Iceland. While the city is known for its bar scene, beer was banned there until 1995. How often do drink beer? Really? Weird! I don't drink, so never.

6) 66ºNORTH is one of Iceland's biggest employers. This clothier makes quality outdoor wear and this time of year they sell a lot of durable rainwear. Do you have a raincoat? No, although I do have a blue trench coat which is rather waterproof, so I guess it could pass as one.

7) In 1997, when this song was popular in clubs, Titanic was popular in theaters. Sam saw it and yes, she cried. How about you? Have you seen the saga of Jack and Rose? Did you enjoy it? I have and I did enjoy it! I would have cried, but I wore contact lenses at that time and didn't want to lose them!

8) Also in 1997, singer John Denver died. Name a John Denver song. I got nothin', I'm not very good at remembering songs and artists.

9) Random question: If you had the opportunity to sky dive, would you take it? Oh Hell no. I'm afraid of heights! I wouldn't even get on the plane to go up in all honesty.

Stolen from: My Random Randomness

1. Who was the last person of the opposite sex you laid in a bed with? Well it'd probably be one of my brothers when we were kids, I remember my little bro and I had to share the pull-out bed at my cousin's house. 9. Who was the last band you saw live? Well, my parents and I saw a 60s tribute band a few years back, they were pretty good.

10. Do you take care of your friends while they are sick? Nah, I'm too much of a wuss for that sort of thing.

11. Any historical figures that you envy? Nah, the olden days weren't all that fun...no flushing toilets for most of that time!

12. How many songs are on your iTunes? Don't have iTunes and I'm really not sure how many songs I have saved, a bit more than 100 I guess?

13. What brand of digital camera do you own? Well, there's an Olympus camera here which I found when I moved into this flat, it doesn't work though.

14. When was the last time you got a good workout? Just today!

8:59pm: Which is not breaking news, but I'm watching a program on TV that is reminding me of that fact even moreso. The current Government wants to screw over the budding renewable energy sector in Australia, all for the sake of the Big Coal companies, total bullshit, man, total bullshit.

To say nothing of how we're treating aslyum seekers. Ugh.

Although, I wonder how I can help, I feel I should put my money where my mouth is, get a job helping with aslyum seekers, but I don't actually know if there's any paying jobs in that sector. Maybe I can volunteer in that capacity or something.

Anyway, enough politicking, I'm here at my grandparent's house, which is why I'm watching this documentary and M and I played Canasta this evening, although we didn't get to finish our game, I'm currently kicking ass. However, best not to get ahead of myself, M did win the last hand quite thoroughly and caught me out.

Speaking of getting ahead of oneself, I dare say the commentators last night might have jinxed the Fed-Ex, alas he didn't win. :O( Despite a rather good start too...although as I found out while watching the news tonight that the Joker almost took the match in four sets, but Fed-Ex pushed it to five. Oh well, he still holds the Wimbledon record jointly with Pete Sampras...whatever happened to that guy?

What else to report? Not much, tomorrow I'm accompanying M to the community library where we'll be hearing from an indigenous speaker, which should be very interesting. Plus, there'll be morning tea, so they'll be yummy things to eat, including lamingtons! M is bringing them, Grandpa got them at the shop, including ones with cream, although there's none of those left. Oh well.

That's pretty much all I have to say for now, so I'm going to roll my eyes at this program, or at least the dumbass Liberal politicians on it.

I bid you all goodnight!

10:32pm: It's an exciting moment for fans of Fed-Ex, he's about to step out onto the Wimbledon Centre Court with the aim to win for the 8th time! If he manages it'll make history! :OD Fingers and toes crossed! I love the Fed! :OD

And on SBS Le Tour continues and man are the crowds out in force! You usually don't see this many people on either side of the road until they get into the mountains in the second or third week! Whoa! Although sadly for the Yorkshire/British crowd Mark Cavendish had a really bad fall yesterday, broke his collarbone and is out of the race. Although I discovered from my mother Cadel Evans isn't there this year, awww, shame. I don't think us Aussie have anyone else who could get in the yellow jersey, although apparently we do have a guy who's good at sprinting.

Ha, ha, I'm rather amused that I just wrote two paragraphs on sport! But I'm particular about my sports, I like my pelotons and tennis whites. :O)

In other news, the Granny Flat is looking in tip-top shape because I cleaned it up for my mother's visit. She came to watch a Rugby match mostly though so there wasn't much hanging out. Still, she bought over the green lamps that used to be in the upstairs bedroom of their house, so that was nice. Although now I have nowhere to plug in my mobile phone next to my bed, hmm might need a double adapter or something.

Hmm, seems Fed-Ex and the Joker (Djokovic) won't be walking out for another twenty minutes, so moving right along, let's do some Memes!

Here they are! )

And once again, I missed a protest march! There was another one today against the Budget, but I didn't go...mostly because I woke up late and it probably had all ready started by then, also because of the cleaning and finally that time o' the month has begun and ow. May I Amble in August!

Although I do need to get into the city at some point for the ice skating! Must see if any of my friends want to come along.

For now though, I shall be off to watch the Wimbledon Final/Tour and finish up a cover letter for a job that closes tomorrow morning! Wish me luck!

10:25pm: I am so relieved when a Hoarders story ends happily, because otherwise it's just awkward watching it, like I feel like an ass stickybeaking into a car crash or something...

In other news, my new charger for the tablet arrived! I didn't even realise because the delivery guy stuck it under the front door mat of my mother's friend's house, which I obviously wouldn't be looking at. But the friend's husband did and called me on my mobile to let me know it was here. And it works yay! I've all ready charged my tablet back up and played Tapped Out on it, aaah good times, good times. I must find out how to store the cord properly because this is the third charger I've had to get and as I've previously mentioned they keep getting more expensive!

In less happy news, I didn't get the Home Care job, fuuuuck. I can't even get jobs that are actually available because of a lack of people applying to them! Although that isn't what the email I got said. Daaaamnit. My mother is away at the moment and I haven't told her yet, she's going to be rather disappointed I just know it. I'm just no good at faking it, if I'm not certain and enthused about my prospects for a job the interviewer is going to know it.

So yeah, the car, it is no longer a happening thing. Farewell, green car, I barely knew ye!

Anyway, at least I have the party tomorrow to look forward too, I've made cupcakes - and I need to do the frosting before I go to bed though because I probably won't have the time or iclination to do it tomorrow morning before I head out for the IPL treatment, gym, church etc. I'm definitely going to have to borrow one of my parents cars tomorrow for the party though and also bring a heater back here, because it's bloody freezing.

That being the case, I better do the Memes before it's too late to be making frosting!

Anticipation

Do you still get excited about new books as you did when you were little? In general? New books in particular, like from a favorite author? Or do you look at all new, unread books with the same level of anticipation?

Well, to be honest, the only new books coming out that I was really excited about were the Harry Potters once I got into fandom. Outside of that I either read books that were old and hence all ready out and could be bought at second hand shops, or ones I could borrow at the library. There was a brief period when I was excited when the new Sweet Valley books came out, LOL before they went all 'modern' and shithouse.

As for anticipating new books, well I do enjoy the smell of new books, but as a budget-conscious and now unemployed person I'm far happier to find a book I want to get at the second hand bookshop!

I Scream

1. What’s something this past week that made you slightly bananas? Um...hmmm, dunno, it's been a pretty good week for me acftually, yay!

2. What did you do last Sunday? What are you planning for this coming Sunday? Last Sunday? Went to the gym, then moved allll the rest of my crap back here to the Granny Flat, which took forever and resulted in extremely painful leg muscles for the next couple of days. As for this Sunday, well I guess I'll have to take the parental car back to their house and I plan on going to the gym over there while I'm at it. Although I still need to figure out about joining the gym closer to home.

3. What’s something you fudged this past week? Getting a friggin' job, damnit.

4. What was this week’s most interesting scoop? Umm...well, a little known Aussie tennis player beat Richard Gasquet in Round 2 of Wimbledon just yesterday, whoot! (I can't remember his name...looks it up...Nick Kyrgios. Go you good thing!)

5. What was the cherry on top of your good or bad week? Getting my new tablet charger! Which means despite the lack of job getting has pushed the things that happened this week to the good side.

Right, the other memes aren't up yet, so now it's off to make that frosting! Wish me luck!

11:35pm: Federer, I mean, I haven't seen a match of his on TV yet! How could they be ignoring Roger? I'm shocked, I tell you, shocked! Of course, now that there's only two Aussies left in Wimbledon now they'll be showing more matches from other nationalities. Or I could try and find Fed-Ex on one of the Foxtel sports channels, I haven't actually checked that out yet.

But yes! Down from seven Aussies to just two, one of who is Little Lleyton who's playing his second round match sometime tonight, I'll probably be in bed by then, but fingers and toes crossed!

In other news, Dad delivered the fish to my place today - although he forgot to bring my costume, boo, turns out the party is in the evening, so it's not that big a deal. Mmmm, maybe I should ask if I can borrow the car to get there after church. Although I don't like driving at night and then I'd have to bring it back...maybe I can try and hitch a lift with one of my friends who are going, although I'm not sure they'd even go past Neutral Bay, I guess I'll check with them tomorrow.

So yes! Now I have a pet fish to compliment the Plant, what fun, the fish is Ned III, but I'll just call him Ned for short ;O)

Dad also kindly drove me down to the Library for the induction, which went well! Although there was a bit of worry when it seemed to be about delivering books for the Home Library - in a car, which while I have access to but can't get that easily...but they're also looking for people to select the books and do other things, so that sounds like it's right up my alley!

After the induction, I went to Aldi to get some pizza ingredients, since I still have one pizza base and some tomato paste and shredded cheese left so why not use it? :O) The pizza was indeed delicious.

Also, the Home Care people hadn't called by the afternoon, but Mum gave me the mobile number of one of the other priests who'd be easier to get into contact with so I called them up with that info and later on Mum's friend came up to the flat to drop off some food for the chickens and told me they'd called her. So it looks like things are still moving forward there! Fingers crossed...sort of...:OP

Also, I need to find out if I should perhaps do a different course at TAFE, since the acute care placement thing is putting me off, although I'm not sure if I can, I'll have to call up about that.

And finally, tomorrow I must make cupcakes for the party on Saturday, although it's going to be somewhat annoying to take them with me to my parents house then to church and then either by bus or car to the party. Well, what can you do?

Yikes, time has got away from me I see! Only ten minutes to midnight, so I better skip the meme and say goodnight.

Oh! And my RP app was sucessful, whoo! Here's hoping that I can get back in the saddle! I've got four days before the game opens to prepare. Wish me luck.

For now, goodnight!

10:23pm: Yep, Wimbledon time and I've just seen footage of a guy saying words to that effect to the Umpire, I don't think he was successful with the call, LOL.

Meanwhile, Little Lleyton is on! He's one set up, but stuck in a tie break for the second set. Man, these things can go on foreveeeer! Lleyton's getting pretty old now for a tennis player - he's 33 and this will be 16th Wimbledon! Can he make it, or will age eventually wear him down? Hard to say.

In other news the English test and the interview were today, both went pretty well, but I'm still leery about what I'm expected to do, the course for example will involve work experience for two weeks at an acute care facility! And with the Home Care job it seems even if you don't really want to do Personal Assisting (i.e the shower thing) you still need to do it. Dang.

However at the Home Care place they apparently have a system to earn a Certificate III in some sort of Health and Community thing, maybe I should look into doing that instead? I don't even know if I can change courses anyway.

Also, most unfortunately for me, my lower leg muscles are still fucked up and having to do a fair bit of walking today hasn't done anything to make them feel better. Also driving the manual car to the Home Care place in slow traffic also made life difficult. I'm quite worried about it having something to do with my achille's tendons, but Dad seems to think even if it is I shouldn't worry about them snapping on me or something. This though makes going to check out the Gym at the Digger's Club not an attractive prospect, which displeases me.

And that's pretty much all I have to say for this day, the Home Care people says they'll check my six references (three work, three personal) and get back to me, probably on Thursday. Depending on what goes down the car situation may move forward, or not.

Now, I shall bid you all goodnight!

10:00pm: Yep, the great tournament is on! Whoo! Gotta love how green the courts are at the start of the two weeks and seeing all the players in their crisp tennis whites. Andy Murray has just walked out onto Centre Court to defend his title! Will he win in the end? Or will he go back to being the Scotsman :OP (Seriously, a couple of years ago he was British all the way up to when he lost and the paper had the headline "Scotsman Chokes" or something close to it)

I could do without those awful Tom Waterhouse gambling commericals, can't they go back to "Sakata" biscuits.

In other news tomorrow is going to be quite busy, firstly I have to get to the TAFE for the English test by 9:30am so I can enroll in a course, then I have an interview with the Home Care people in a far-off suburb at 3pm. I have no idea why the head office for the northern beaches is not located anywhere near a beachside suburb! My parents have offered to lend me one of their cars so hopefully I'll be good to go.

In other news my legs hurt, I can't decide if it's from the gym where I leg pressed a slightly too heavy weight (I think) or from carting all those crates up to the Granny Flat, probably the later. Man, I hope they'll stop hurting by tomorrow because I have to wear decent shoes for an interview.

LOL, it's called "Gentlemen's Singles", so proper, and it reminds me Men's figure skating really ought to be called "Gentlemen's Figure Skating" since it's "Ladies' Figure Skating" get your tiles right! :OP

Hmm, wonder when the Fed Ex is playing, with my luck probably stupid o'clock. Good luck anyway, Fed!

And with a lack of anything else to report - except I made $40 today for ironing, whoo! - I shall wrap this up.

Have a goodnight all!
