9:29pm: I'm watching a show right now about staying young and they've got this 17 year old who because of an interesting genetic mutation looks like 7! It's a very interesting syndrome called
Laron Syndrome that has the interesting side effect of keeping those who have it from getting cancer and diabetes.
On the other hand...the guy looks 7 years old! Poor guy must get asked if he's for real every day and I can't imagine he could ever get into a bar even with ID! And...yeah I can't see him ever getting a date, he's got the mind of a 17 year old it seems, but...er...yeah it'd look all wrong. The cops would be pulling his date over constantly! o.O
Moving along, today was Granny Flat inspection day. I did however, make the mistake of going to the mall to return that light purple watch that's too big, I sort of forgot it was a) the school holidays and b) cheap movie Tuesday.
It took me half an hour to find a parking spot! O.o And since it appeared it would take almost that long to get
out of the parking lot again I decided I wouldn't stick around for too long, not that I was planning on doing much, except purchase some singlets, but I couldn't find any with short sleeves! So, now I have this refund voucher to spend because I couldn't get an actual refund on the watch because I couldn't find the receipt. Not sure what I'll spend it on since I couldn't find the singlet, but I'll figure something out I suppose.
Anyway, it didn't end up taking that long to get out, thankfully, and I got to the street where the granny flat is in good time and read the book on Fed-Ex until Mum showed up, shortly followed by the real estate agent. It turned out to be a different one because the one who was actually in charge of renting out the place was unwell.
Anyway, it's a bit of a step down from my current place, more like Mum's friend's granny flat, with the fibro walls and small windows. Although...it
does have a lot more windows so that's good. The kitchen though is rather sad, I've got used to all the counter space! I don't know if I'm going to fit my stuff in there... There is a spot for my dishwasher but it's rather wobbly so I'm not sure it'll actually work.
As for the furniture, the current tenant is actually moving back to New Zealand so it's possible I might be able to get the washing machine, the table and chairs, and the (surprisingly) huge fridge and maybe the wardrobe in the bedroom/living room area. Apparently, I didn't need to worry about how they decide to picka a tenant if there's a lot of interest because the agents feel I'll be a good pick! The one I met said they were going to start putting together a lease!
It occurred to me later that I'll need a bookshelf or something because there's no big pantry there, I suppose in the meantime I can just stack them in a corner. And yikes, I hope the crates will fit in there, hopefully it will.
In other news, I'm still trying to figure out - five days in - what to work on for my
Camp NaNo, I kind of want to do some
BTTF stuff, not sure why, I guess because there's so many stories that can be told in that universe. I guess I could also work on my George III story, that is after all the only one that could ever publish were there any interest.
And I can't forget the all-important Librarian job at Manly! I mentioned it to Mum today after we saw the Granny Flat, I'm a bit worried about it, since it really sounds like a management type role, I'm actually supposed to make important decision in the running of the library and stuff! To be honest I'm rather surprised that the Staff Manager at Dee Why thought I'd be good candidate. Maybe she knows something I don't, LOL.
( Anyway, before I go let's have a Meme or two: )Shoot, this entry has gone on waaaay too long, I gotta haul ass! Lots to do tomorrow what with applying for the librarian role!
Wish me luck!
Goodnight all!
