11:29pm: But these Englishmen are nuts! We're talking like enough drink for 22 men! Although, I do remember an episode of RBT where they busted a guy who's blood alcohol level was so high it could only have been achieved by drinking 100 drinks.ONE HUNDRED, how he didn't die remains a mystery to this day.

Anyway! Today was packed, not only did I go to the gym and the library, I also had to go and meet with a lady at the Parish Office near the church along with Mum to sign some more stuff for this Catechist business. I'm still not sure how this is going to go. Particularly since I found out the teacher is actually in the room, but apparently they involve themselves so I need to be there to police stuff. These kiddies better be as easy to put back on track as Mum thinks. :OP

What else to report? Not much, except I really must get to bed because I've been failing at getting my zzzs and I think it's impacting on my work a bit! I keep forgetting stuff and also I dilly dally in the morning and ended up being 10 minutes late today in part because I got stuck behind a garbage truck! But I was rather late in leaving anyway.

Oh and Mum bought a table while she was dropping off some things at Vinnies, the idea is to put the dishwasher on it, since I've moved the air con into my bedroom. Unfortunately, the floor in the granny flat is quite slanty and the table is a bit too small so it's not really suitable, but Dad thinks he might have something that will work, I'll find out on Saturday. Although, I'm still worried the dishwasher will leak, I took the tubes off the back and put them back on paying special attention to screwing the screws tight and all that, buuuut...

And now, I must be off, I need to wash my glasses and like I said get to bed!

For now, goodnight all!

10:33pm: The new Embarrassing Bodies seems to have changed nights, it's on right now, why was I left uninformed? Damnit Foxtel keep it together.

The other weird thing is my ankles...this afternoon before I headed off for ice skating I was hanging out my second load of laundry when I ran out of pegs, so I headed towards the main house to look for the peg bag and the wooden block at the top of the stairs gave way and I almost ended falling! Thankfully, I stayed upright, but my left ankle did twist a little and felt a bit sore on the drive to the Mall and it seemed fine, skating went well, I'm getting pretty good at skating on one foot I even tried to do a bit of an arabesque which due to my lack of flexibility wasn't much, but hey, it's a lot more than I could do at the beginning of this year!

And my ankles felt fine until church...when my right ankle started hurting as if it's the one I twisted, but I know it wasn't. So what the Hell is going on? Thinking about it, I must have favoured my right leg today without realising it...so now I've hurt the right ankle. Well that's just great and very annoying. I should put my ankle brace on, since I've got one.

Anyway, on less weird injury news, the hunt for pink shoes remains unsuccessful, so I'm thinking of turning to the internet, I looked at EBay and found what I was looking for right away, and at a decent price. However...buying shoes online sounds like trouble, I mean I'm usually a size 6...but I've also had shoes that are 5.5 and my sneakers are size 7s. So, you know, it's really very hard to know if shoes will be right without trying them on. And due to the cost of postage in Australia returning them if they are the wrong size will probably be more expense than its worth. However I've been nearly everywhere I can think of and there's only one pair I've found and they cost $119, and I suppose even the cost of having to return the ones I saw would be less than that (although if I had to do that I'd still have no shoes!)

I did make a purchase today though, a black bag the same style of the red and brown one I all ready have, I had to pay full price, but that was only $34.99 so I figured what the Hell. Plus I asked the girl behind the desk about it because I couldn't see any sign of the bag in the shop, they had it in stock, but it was way up high in a cupboard and after the girl went all the way up a ladder to get it so I felt like that was telling me something.

And yikes, I've just noticed the time! I should wrap this entry up so I can get ready for bed, tomorrow I need to wash my car, go to the gym and also work more on the bodice, I've put together the lining, but I'm still trying to decipher the instructions regarding how to attach it! Obviously, I haven't got a grasp on all the lingo. :OP

But I'll do the last Friday Meme before I go though:

The (Other) Friday Five

A Slightly Less Conventional Friday Five

These questions were written by rude_not_ginger.

1. It didn't happen? No, thankfully I didn't take a tumble down the stairs today! o.O

2. What if it did? I'd be pretty fucked if I'd hurt myself, because I don't have sick leave for my job so if I broke something...well I don't want to think about it!

3. Did it hurt that badly? Well not that badly, but my right ankle does hurt.

4. Would you remember? Falling down the stairs? I imagine I would! Unless I hit my head...knock on wood!

5. And if you forgot? Well, I'd have a concussion so I'd need to keep a close eye on myself in case of any after affects, Hell, I might even need to stay with my parents.

And that's all I have to say about that.

Oh! And I've decided on Nedshenko for my fishy...thanks [personal profile] crossover_chick!

Goodnight all!

11:09pm: Well, at least as far as this story on Embarrassing Bodies tells me...which is apparently the longer ones middle finger is compared to the index finger the more testoterone one got in the womb and the more masculine brained or rather systematically brained one is. Now, I have quite a difference, but I don't have any of the systematic brain stuff, like superior hand-eye co-ordination and been able to assemble Ikea furniture. On the other hand I'm not sure if I really rate on the typical feminine or empathetic brain skills of picking up facial expressions and remembering shit.

So make of that what you will.

In other news, today I travelled to five, count them five different Vinnies hunting for a strapless dress that I might be able to use as a base for my Halloween costume...and wouldn't you know it? I found one at the last Vinnies I went too! LOL, typical :OP

So now I'm trying to figure out what to do, because I've realised that I didn't get quite enough pink material the dress...and I'm wondering if the white chiffon that's supposed to overlay the pink material was the right choice because I'll have to stick about five million sequins on it. I'm wondering if I should get a different sort of fabric, which won't be an exact match, but at least won't require all busy work. I mean, I don't know if I can even stick that many sequins even if I do have a little over two months.

Either way I'm not sure if I'm going to use the white chiffon, but obviously it can't be returned, so I have no idea what I'll do with it. Any ideas. :OP

And yikes, look at the time...is there time for Memes? Maybe one!

Friday5

A Cure For What Ails Ya

1. What’s the greatest lovesong of all time? Ah geeze...I'm not sure to be honest...I quite like 8 Days a Week by the Beatles.

2. What’s in the background of the most recent two pictures of you? An outdoor ice rink and the glass doors and living room of my grandparents place.

3. What was the primary cause of your most recent mishap? Well, I did almost trip over my own pants on Friday morning, so that was a close shave...also the day before I somehow managed to knock over my glass of water and nearly soak my calendars! Hurrying too much was the cause of both.

4. Why can’t I be you? Would you want to? But then...I am gainful employed now...but I am me so alas you cannot be.

5. What did you do on the 13th? Was that a Friday? No...it was a Thursday so...just check my entry from that day! :OP

Also...I'm a bit concerned there's a rat or possum or something on my roof, or perhaps even in the roof, there's been quite a lot of noise up there lately...

On that note, I shall be off it's getting close to midnight!

Oh but wait I must announce that while ice skating today I managed to crouch down and touch my skates! OMG! So exciting! Go me! :OD Still no luck going backwards though.

10:39pm: And that's a glowing reference for Jimmy Savile, who since the book in question was published was revealed as a hideous sex offender. Obviously the author in question had no idea about this when he wrote it, but it's like oh God, stop talking - it's an audiobook - ick.

Which reminds me, unfortunately, that both Dee Why and Mona Vale Library has stuff by Rolf Harris in it. I wonder if that's been brought to their attention and if not...should I? Because seriously that stuff shouldn't be there.

I'm further reminded that while at JB Hi-Fi looking at DVDs I saw The Cosby Show was available, should that be stricken from the record too? I mean other actors were on the show, but who would even want to watch that now?

In other news, the new Embarrassing Bodies is back! If indeed it went anywhere...and there's a lady here with a huuuge hernia, and I'm confused as to how this has been missed, I means it's giant. The lady has had many operations so one would have though she'd be going to the doctor often, so who's dropping the ball here?

And there sure are a lot of gentlemen suffering from man-boobs on the show lately, poor guys, it's safe to say people aren't nice about that. The guy on tonight had to quit his job his co-workers were being so shitty to him.

In non-book and non-TV show related news I didn't get home until almost 5:30 because after Mrs S's I went to the Job Centre only to discover I wasn't meeting the guy today, but tomorrow, do'h! Then it was volunteering at the library where I got quite a lot of selecting down and also a piece of cake, yum!

Theeen I went all the way to Manly to look at the Vinnies and Salvos to look for a suitable dress for my Halloween costume, but alas no luck! Well, I did see something that might do, except it's too dark and I don't think I'm game to try and make it paler. It'd be one thing to dye a white dress, I've dyed clothes before, but bleaching something, aw Hell no.

So there's three more possible second-hand shops I can try and then I guess I'll have to give E-Bay a go.

After that, I headed to the gym to catch up on my exercise before heading to the Dee Why Grang to get some groceries before I finally got back here to the flat. Phew!

All in all it's been a good day and now I must be wrapping this up so I can head to bed!

9:39pm: EVER would have to be the ones I just heard while watching Embarrassing Bodies, and those words..."Ripped your penis off."

I'm not even a dude and I was like "AAAAAAAARGH! Oh HELL NO!"

Although I'll be doing that a lot this episode, because it's all about man bits tonight.

In unrelated, but still body related...I've got a pimple on my ear! I have no idea how this even happens. It's very irritating because I actually touch my ears a lot...which is probably the answer to that question.

Also...it's that time o' the month (just in time for the full-moon) and my left knee hurts. Why you gotta do this to me body. :O(

And also most unfortunately, I've lost my Fit Bit from Aldi! I didn't realise it until I got home this afternoon, after which time I'd been to the library and the mall...I thought maybe it fell out of my pocket when I changed pants at the library before starting my volunteering so I went all the way there with my fingers crossed, but no. :O( I think it's definitely gone for good.

Fortunately, Mum still has hers - it turns out Dad lost his as well! Ohmergerd! - but she doesn't actually use it because she got a waterproof Garmin one, so she's going to give it to me. Except I've just realised I now no longer have the little belt clip bit, damn. I forgot to ask Mum if she still has hers, I guess I'll have to call tomorrow morning to ask about that.

In Embarrassing Bodies news, medical science is a Hell of a thing, they reconstructed the "ripped your penis off" man's penis using skin and muscles from his forearm! Amazing! But seriously, this poor guy got run over by a car when he was only 6 years old and up to the reconstruction he had 100 surgeries to repair the damage. Damn.

Damn, my knee is most sore, ow. I should take some period pain medication otherwise I'm going to have trouble getting all my zzzs!

On a final note, I bought a new vacuum cleaner, originally I was going to get this cute and spiffy looking green one, but alas it doesn't suck enough, so I ended up going for a $199 one (marked down from like $269) that has five years of free service and is cordless with a detachable dust buster part. So, I think it was a good deal.

So I shall be off now.

Goodnight all!

10:50pm: Today was the day of the on-site induction at Mona Vale Library, hooray! It included getting to know the returns system, which is rather hi-tech, with an electronic pad that can read the barcodes of more than one book at a time just by placing them on it. Also shelving! Although, I didn't actually do any work on the desk, whoops! However! I have four shifts come up on successive Tuesdays so I'm sure I'll end up on it pretty soon.

The only problem, I'm not sure what to do with the car situation, I took the car today, but parked a fair distance from the library and I'm not sure if there's any non-timed parking spots closer to the building. However, in the winter at least, there's the issue where it's dark by the time my shift will finish (since I can only work in the afternoons). Soooo, what to do, what to do?

But it's all very exciting! They'd all ready had pigeon holes marked with our names and everything! :O) The only downside is they took photos for our ID Badges (I guess) and I have a couple of rather nasty pimples on my chin! Aw man...how embarrassing. Maybe I should go see a dermotologist or something, I feel I've been lied to, I mean we were always told that pimples were a teenage problem, ha, I think not.

Anyway, it's Embarrassing Bodies night tonight and I have to ask...do men really have no problem giving sperm samples in any location? Because on this show they often have them just going into a public toilet and giving one for the doctors to examine. I mean seriously? How can they do that in a public toilet? I'd think the location would be enough to put you off.

And that's pretty much all I have to report for today, it's been a busy day! I wonder how I'll go next Tuesday when I'll be working from 8:30 to 6pm, although there will be a two hour break in between, maybe I'll have to learn the art of a power nap! :OP

Oh and I almost forgot...as I was driving to work this morning I was making a turn when a car came out of nowhere (at least to me O.o) and we almost ran into each other! To make matters worse we were going in the same direction and I was kind of worried there was going to be a road rage incident. Whoever was in the car not only honked me at the near collision, but later on - for no reason that I can think of - eventually we went our separate ways. But I was left to wonder...was I the one at fault or were they? I swear I looked both ways before beginning the turn. Maybe they came out of a driveway. Hmpf, I'll have to be careful!

For now, though, goodnight!

10:32pm: Well, I've just finished watching the new Embarrassing Bodies for this week and it was a special on how this chap who had to have nearly half his face removed to get rid of cancer and medical science was finally able to create a prosthesis and other things so he can get his face back and also be able to eat and drink again. I'm not actually sure if the last bit happened, but he managed to get the prosthetic in time for his wedding, and now he doesn't have to wear sunglasses and change the dressing that used to cover the big hole in his head every day. So, yeah nice to see.

In other news, the emails have come in from Pittwater Library, which I better get a start on because I have to get a "Working With Children Check" and a pre-work medical, oh and the induction thing, which I guess I'll do over the weekend since it's supposed to take like an hour and a half.

In other news, when I went to the library to volunteer today, the Inter-Library Co-orinator came over with an availability sheet for the Casual Pool, wheeee, how exciting! Further to that, they had another surprise for me, they've nominated me - among other volunteers - for the Volunteer of the Year award! For the state of NSW, I doubt I'd win - they'll be volunteers who have rescued people from fires or whatever - but hey it's the thought that counts. :O)

And shit, I let myself get distracted and now it's after eleven pm and I have to go to bed! Unfortunately this hasn't been the most engaging entry ever, sorry about that. :OP

And I've got some new icons!

And now off to bed I go.

9:26pm: Because it's made me worried about my waist circumference (my BMI is fine, but that can be sort of dodgy) and uhoh, it's not too good. In fact it's periliously close to the high danger category - unless I've measured wrong. Dang, how concerning. I thought I was looking a little rotund in the gut area, guess I'll have to keep up the squats at the gym! And keep away from the Nutella...again (that bastard).

Speaking of the gym, I meant to go today, my abdomen was being a jerk so I didn't, which is rather annoying seeing as I took my gym bag with me. But it was also library volunteer day and I was all out of steam by the end of that, I tell you some of those Home Library Service clients make it hard...like people who want 20 books each time. Man, some people read a lot!

However! I did manage to go to the hardware shop and get some sandpaper for my bathroom vanity - a couple of weeks ago I put my straightner on it in the incorrect manner and it melted some of it leaving a rather sharp point. As you can imagine this makes wiping it clean with the sponge hard to do because it gets caught. Long story short, I explained this to the hardware shop guy who got me the right grade of sandpaper and now it's no longer a hazard.

I mopped the floor this morning before leaving, as I promised Mum I would, so go me, except I kind of left it a bit late and thus ended up missing the bus, which kind of stressed me out a bit even though I have the car and drove that. But you know, I had things all planned out in my brain etc.

And I burned the top of my mouth eating dinner, ow...why I gotta do this to myself? Fail.

What else to report? Well, the Fed-Ex is up against Murray in the semi-final of Wimbledon, will the Fed continue to be awesome? Will Murray make Britain proud? I hope for Roger! This is the 10th time he's been in a Wimbledon semi, and if he gets to the final it could be an 8th Wimbledon title for the Fabulous Fed.

Now, the new Embarrassing Bodies is on so I shall be off to watch that! :O) Tomorrow is the pyschiatrist appointment so I need to get to bed at a reasonable hour so I get enough zzzzs.

Wish me luck, then!

Goodnight all!

PS. Oh wait, I've checked it out and it turns out I was measuring the wrong way, no need to panic people, remain calm! :O)

anonymoose_au: (Oww...Aaah...Owwww)
10:21pm: Yes sir, new Embarrassing Bodies is back on the air and one of the first people to show up is a poor chap with banalitis, which if you don't know is inflamation of the penis and in this chap's case it was so bad it made me wince! Then we found out he'd had it for two years, shit son, I would have gone to the hospital about five minutes into that! Men, gee. Happily, the chap was sent off for a circumscion and is now cured. Still there was a lot of shrieking and "Oh God no!" from me. :OP

Also of interest, there's an exo-skeleton out there that can help some people who have been paralysed stand up and walk (with the aid of crutches), amazing stuff! I wonder what the future will hold for this technology. I think it's only for exercise at present rather than a permanent walking around type thing...yet!

In other news, I was most disappointed to discover that due to the way my new heater switches on, the timer doesn't work! That is, it switches the power on, but not the actual heating, since it's a two step process. Thinking about it, I suppose the only way to work around that is to not actually turn the heater off just set the timer to 'auto'. That all sounds a bit complicated, and the main issue in the morning is the bathroom, so I have stuck the old fan heater in there with the timer set to come on fifteen minutes before I get up in the morning so I won't freeze my ass off when I go in there. Although I've just realised that I won't actually be having a shower in the morning tomorrow because it's gym day, but I do have to go into bathroom, so we'll see!

Aside from that, the heater is working great! :O) I like the thermostat setting, keeps it from getting too warm! Plus I'm sure it saves electricity...at least I hope it does.

In other news now Embarrassing Fat Bodies is on now and slightly awkward they just had an ad about standing against eating disorders, though I guess over-eating counts, so maybe it's apt?

What else to report? Not much although I made pizza tonight, that was some good eatin'! Although I was in a hurry because the idea didn't occur to me until 10 minutes before the bus came, so I only had time to go to Aldi and their pizza bases are really quite huge. Ah well, more to enjoy, I guess.

And I should probably wrap this up and get ready to hit the hay as soon as my show finishes, after all, there's work tomorrow and I said I'd go into the library tomorrow after the gym to help the Home Library Service.

Oh and I finally got my silver watch working, I feel a bit bad because I just asked the man at Mr Minit to prise the back off it so I could put the battery in myself later, but it would have cost $19.95 to have him do it, what's up with that?!

Now though, I shall be off! Goodnight all!

10:43pm: And not because of the reasons you think! The show is Embarrassing Bodies, which often does have gross crap on it, but I usually just look away at those parts, but my problem is when they talk about eyes, whenever they do that my eyes go nuts, like twitching eyelids nuts. Which sometimes makes me worried that they'll get stuck doing that long after the show is over! Suffice to say that hasn't happened, so phew!

Moving on from that, I did some food shopping today to get some more cereal and cheese and some crackers from Aldi and chicken legs and cheese wedges from the supermarket near my apartment. Which is good, I also got a new belt, which at $16 was a very big bargain but has still broken my budget. Oh dear, what to do... I really need to find a way to make a bit more money, I don't think the newsagency can offer me any more shifts, at least not with any regularity. On the other hand will I have any luck looking for a new part-time job? I suppose I can only keep applying for full time work, fingers and toes remain crossed for the ABC!

Although, it would be a shame to have to leave my current job, I really do enjoy it, even though it causes does cause a lot of paper cuts, ow! And I was a little worried today when we had a big meeting about moving the tax forms and Superannuation forms electronically, which I feared would cut back on filing so much I wouldn't have a job at all! Fortunately, it doesn't look like that will come to pass, though I won't be getting any extra hours, boo.

And this entry has got quite long and the time is getting a bit late, so I shall do the me me and head for bed!
