11:07pm: Man, it's been forever since I updated! Almost two months! I've let myself down, I've let my journal down and...maybe let you my loyal readers down, but probably not :OP

Anyway! Since my last update I've settled into my new role as Collections Librarian and it's been going awesomely! Not long into the job my supervisor said I was doing so well that it's pretty likely my contract will get extended! I sure hope so, because the apartment building is set to be completed in December this year and with an actual (nearly) full-time job I can probably afford to live in it.

Of course, there's also the chance that I'll actually interview to get the job permanently, which worries me purely because according the the law they can only judge an applicant based on how they interview (even if said applicant is int he position already) and I'm known for not been the best at interviews. Although I have been told that my interviewing skills are getting better so perhaps there's no need to worry. Fingers crossed!

So yes, the job has been going really well! I've caught up on the backlog and I'm learning new stuff - soon I'll be getting to know about cataloguing, which will be good because at present there's only one person there who can catalogue stuff from scratch so as you can imagine she's super busy! Plus new skills are always a bonus.

Suffice to say, I'm really happy with how life is going, I've got an awesome job, awesome co-workers and awesome peeks into the new books that are coming out. :O)

About the only downside is...it's not quite full-time as I mentioned, however I usually get an extra shift on the weekend which brings me up to 32 hours, which still isn't quite full-time, but seeing as I'm being paid as a librarian now certainly gives me way more money than I had before. Although I need to be careful in that respect, I went on a bit of a spending spree with Pusheen goods (ha ha no-one's surprised at that I bet!) as well as some Yuri on Ice related stuff so I don't have quite as much as hoped.

However! I did - for the first time in I don't know how many years - get a refund from my tax return! Which I meant to pay towards my HECs debt, I say meant because I managed to send it to the wrong account at the Tax Office. Which reminds me that I was meant to call them and find out where it is this week (I did it last Friday), but now it's the weekend again and I can't. Oh fail. I hope it hasn't disappeared...I need that it's like $1,500!

Lastly, I have had trouble making sure I get enough zzzs, I set up my FitBit to tell me when it's time for me to head off to bed, but then like a dumbass I ignore it and next thing I know I'm only getting 7 hours. Which doesn't sound too bad, but after a couple of days of this I end up with a headache and that's just not good.

Fortunately, I should be able to catch up on my zzzs tonight - for the first time in a while I won't be working either day on the weekend because I've only got half an hour left out of the total hours I can work (the maximum is 35, my part-time work is 28 hours, so that leaves me only 7 hours that I can do). I am heading over to M and Grandpa's tomorrow to play Canasta with M, but I don't need to get there until 11am.

Anywho, I'm gonna wrap this up now - perhaps next entry I can tell you about the saga of my 2-in-1 laptop LOL!

10:16pm: So, I was just on Facebook playing Criminal Case when one of the random people I friended the other week so I could do things in game sent me an instant message through the Chat thing saying 'Hi' and I said 'Hello' back.

Which lead to a short convo, but I'm a bit leery that this person might be trying some sort of online relationship thing. I think it's a guy, but it's a foreign name so I can't really tell, but yeah, he asked quite a few questions, but then I asked the same ones back, which I'm not sure was the right way to go. Scratches head...I guess if they keep bugging me, I'll just de-friend them, because as of yet they haven't even accepted my request to be a teammate on Criminal Case yet! :OP

In other news, today I was thinking I'd get back to the Flat rather early, after getting to the gym at 10am and then having Mum agree to drive me back here. But, since there's the moving out going on, I was roped into helping with that and then because we had so much stuff and Dad had dropped his car over, Mum took his filled with stuff while her friend and I went in the BMW. And because we were also taking the fish, I had to go to their villa in the retirement home because I couldn't let the fishbowl just sit on the seat it might fall over! As it was when we had to make a turn some of the water ended up splashing out of the bowl and getting all over me! I was admittedly on the phone at the time, the woman from the library called, which led to a brief period of excitement when I thought I might be getting an interview after all, but alas no. However, it was an offer to help volunteer with the Inter-Library Loan section, which is something to add to the resume, and hey maybe if I really impress them they will hire me in their next round of hiring.

Then I had to help Mum and her friend with the unpacking of the cars and doing some cleaning, it took aaages, which was a pain in the butt if only because I didn't have time to do laundry when I got back to the flat because there wouldn't be any time to hang it out and have it dry. Although the weather this weekend hasn't really been conducive to such a thing, although it hasn't rained since about midday.

I did get that short-answer test thing done (hopefully right!) for tomorrow, so I'm ready to head to bed as soon as I do the Memes and Homes Under the Hammer is over.

And lastly, I was going to do my tax tonight, I downloaded the program and got most of the way through, but I still owe money! How can this be? I'm sure I must have put something wrong, so I'm going to leave it be for the while and see if I've missed anything.

Right, I better make sure I'm ready to jump into bed as soon as my show is over s I better be off!

10:42pm: Yes! I got through the entire 4th ep of The Tales of Monkey Island without having to cheat! Go me!

Of course now I'm at the start of the fifth ep and damned if I know what I'm meant to be doing LOL.

In other news I've finally returned to the apartment! Ah, I've missed the place! Plus my IBS seems to have settled so fingers crossed next week won't screw me over.

Not much to report, although tonight is the last night of Le Tour, they're going to be in Paris! There might be roundabouts! Unfortunately it's also not starting until late, I might have to go to bed before they can start, I need to get up earlier thanks to last week's late arrival, I don't want that to happen again.

Oh...and there was something else, I filled out my tax return (although I haven't submitted it yet) and apparently I owe the tax office 300 bucks? That's bullshit, Terry Damn, man, I can't afford that...I mean I can, but I'd rather not. I'm not sure how to get out of that though. But paying that money will complete deplete my savings! Or at least the ones I have to hand, which sucks because my budget indicated I should be able to get by without having to dip into them. Weak.

( Anyway I'll have to figure that out later, for now I better Meme and run. )

11:19pm: Well, my mother's put me on the case of Dad's Tax, putting all the deductions and whatnot in a spreadsheet. Pain in the butt. And very confusing too!

The rest of the day was spent working on my Hill Valley World for the Sims 3, I've almost got it just how I want it! Very exciting indeed.

Speaking of the Sims 3, a new Stuff Pack with all sorts of nifty cars, it's supposed to come out in Australia tomorrow, I'll keep an eye out when I'm in Chatswood after the library tomorrow.

What an odd thing to ask a Prince, but then again I'm sure royal underwear is the most luxurious, LOL. But I buy my underwear from either Myer or David Jones depending which one has a sale on at the time.

Weird...and quite lazy. But I like to think I'm creative at least! And bubbly.

Sometimes...but often I chalk down not doing something because I was distracted, which is you know, not taking responsibilty. It also comes back to bite me on the ass, so there you go.

Uh...I dunno...just try and do your best and help people when and if you can, I suppose.

10:30pm: Most definitely feelin' lazy today! Not only have I left it to now to update the LJ, I haven't really done any writing either. Bad me!

Awww, shit there's a big blow fly in here, I don't know how it got in here, but it's pretty damn annoying, I used to have some fly spray, but I'm not sure where it is, plus whenever I use that stuff it doesn't really work. Damn you, inefficient fly spray!

Also, today Terry from Berry returned from his week's holiday sporting a goatee, which was damn hilarious, he looked like he should either be wearing a Hawaiian shirt or a 'Hells' Angels' leather jacket.

He also incidentally gave me advice re: my tax return, so I might not owe money after all (phew!) except I can't find the damn Notice of Assessment anywhere and I can't submit my tax return electronically until I do that. Argh, dang it! I knew I had it when I started doing my tax because that's the only way to get the program going. The schools shall be blamed!

Right, I have to get my ass to bed because once again I was almost late this morning, so I definitely need to haul ass a few minutes earlier.

8:20pm: So Daylight Saving is starting in 11 days, which by my calculations means we also get the Labour Day holiday to recover from the change in time! Great decision, whoever it is who makes these decisions, people are never in the swing of things by Monday so this'll be cool. :O)

Do they mean the National Football League as in actual players? I suppose it wouldn't be the strangest thing ti ever have a fandom, crossing it with Doug though is totally bizarre.

In other news, I was woken up this morning by my parents who were fussing over the skylight...or rather the lack of skylight. At some point during the night the skylight at the very top of the parental's house broke or blew away or something and rain came in and got all over my father's laptop! Cripes, I hope he didn't lose any important data, the laptop is covered by insurance, but you can't get data back when its gone.

Man, when is 20 to 1 on? I ask you, since when did starting times for programs become a relative term on commercial TV? They never used to pull this shit before and it certainly makes timer record harder to do.

Oh nuts, and I just realised it's not 20 to 1 time yet, it's 2 and a Half Men (you can see the dead look in Charlie Sheen's eyes!), whatever.

So I'm here at the parentals, but I only just got here a half hour ago, I had to come back to the apartment first to pick up my mobile phone charger also to collect mail etc. So I didn't have to bother my parents' for dinner which I'm sure they're all happy about.

Hmmm...I thought I had some chocolate, but it seems to have disappeared, how rude! Although I did find a Cherry Ripe in my bag today, I forgot I brought it last week, LOL, nice surprise there. :O)

In other news, I got my Tax File Number, but I still think the ATO is telling me I owe Tax, I am most disappointed! I've never had to pay extra tax before, well I suppose since I was on Unemployment for a while I can't complain, but as the Angry Video Game Nerd would say: "Son of an ass!"

Not much more to say, except tomorrow's gonna be busy as all Hell at work, everyone's going to be in because my co-worker is leaving to have her baby, so she has to go over everything before she does. Pray for Moose! (I better take notes!)
