10:46pm: Indeed so! Always an exciting time, although I missed the Opening Ceremony because I was at work today. However, the news did replay some highlights, including the Tongan Flag Bearer who's taken the world by storm, LOL!

Right now, I'm watching the Road Race with Grandpa, Phil Liggett is commentating, yay! It's gokna be a very long race though, seven hours! So obviously we won't be staying up for all of it. But with any luck one of our Aussie's will do well and maybe pick up a medal!

It also has to be said that Rio looks really pretty from the aerial shots, which is nice because there's been a lot of doom and gloom in the lead up. Good to see the Opening Ceremony highlights, since even with the tight budget there was a lot of excitment and the caldron for torchy was amazing! :OD

In other exciting news, I won Canasta against M this afternoon! OMG! Even more than that, actually, I kicked some serious butt. Whoot! Hooray me! There's gonna be a rematch tomorrow morning though, so who knows what will go down there.

Not much else to report, although I didn't end up meeting Mum at the display suite of the apartment building that's going up in Brookvale, which was a good thing because I never would have made it! Not sure what's happening, apparently Dad's been investigating options too, maybe he's found something nicer! I'm still wondering about that one bedroom myself, although I probably can't afford that one.

Not much else to report except Uncle Sam dropped by this afternoon with a two quarters of a chocolate mousse cake, one for me and one for M and Grandpa, yum! Although, I haven't actually eaten any of my yet, I tasted some of M and Grandpa's piece.

Uncle Sam also got me onto this game called "Letterplex", we're playing a game right now, don't think I'm gonna win against him, at least not the first game.

Right, it's after 11pm and I haven't done my Russian! Better haul, I do need to get up at a decent hour tomorrow after all.

Goodnight all!

11:27pm: I should be in bed! But I got distracted reading stuff on the internet (as usual :OP) and I don't have too much to report about today anyway. Although, I made my lasagna for dinner tonight and it's come out quite perfect, yummy indeed!

That further reminds me that I forgot to take the cupcakes to Mrs S house today, do'h! Better make sure to do that tomorrow otherwise they won't taste very good and what a waste that would be!

Anyway, I'll make this quick then, today was far busier than I thought it would be. No I didn't go skating, but I managed to miss the bus that would get me home after the volunteering at the library and doing some shopping.

It was super annoying because the bus was late, but just before it came I realised that my Fitness counter wasn't in my pants pocket! And the last time I saw it was at the Lifeline shop where I was looking for jeans. So I had to leave the bus stop and rush back there, where I discovered to my dismay it was nowhere to be seen! I even asked the people in the shop if they'd seen it, but no luck.

Eventually, I returned to the bus stop, the bus had been and gone by then and emptied out my bag where to my great relief I found the Fitness counter at the bottom, I had taken it out of my pants pocket when I was trying on the jeans and placed it on top of the bag and it must have fallen in there.

THEN I realised I'd left the book I was reading back at Lifeline, so back there I went and then back to the bus stop to wait...until I received a call from the Job Centre place I'd forgotten the appointment there! Fortunately, it's just down the road so off I went.

Originally, I was only supposed to be there to sign something, but it turned out my Employment Pathway plan needed to be updated so we had to go through that...After all the waiting at the bus stop I'd done I began to worry I was going to miss yet another bus! But it all ended up OK in the end.

And now it's only 15 minutes to midnight! I'll have to skip the memes again and hit they hay!

11:07pm: The job service people, there's this requirement that one goes to an appointment once a month, but there's not actually much reason for me to do so. Last time I was there I got a form for my pyschiatrist and/or to fill out, however, I haven't actually gone to either - although I'm seeing the former next Friday, so I wonder if I can call to ask for the meeting to be postponed until then. Or maybe I should actually use the facilities provided at the Job Service place and apply to more jobs, I think I should have applied to at least 12 by now, but I've only done half that. Man, I gotta get onto that...

In other news, it's October (inventory time ;O) which means, holy shit the year is passing fast and also that I can finally use mobile data on my mobile phone again, yay! Although I really should do more reading on the bus...it's certainly helped me get through the Kay Scarpetta series I've been reading lately, I'm all ready up to Book 7!

Also, the driving went well this morning, except I parked really badly at the mechanics and Mum had a bit of a time getting the car out of it, whoops.

However, the guy who was supposed to come by and measure for the shelving has been postponed yet again, although apparently on Friday the material is supposed to be coming and then the guy can come by. I guess he'll start putting the shelves together on the very day he comes.

So with a lack of anything else to report, let's do the last Friday5 meme!

Friday5

Happy Birthday Bruce (Springsteen)

1. Hey, what else can we do now, except roll down the window and let the wind blow back your hair? (“Thunder Road,” 1975) Well, I've got no car and though it was windy this morning it no longer is now, so...tough luck there. :OP

2. Is a dream a lie if it don’t come true, or is it something worse? (“The River,” 1980) Uh no...it's just a dream, most of which are pretty weird and make no sense at all...I suppose you mean the other kind of a dream, in which case...I dunno...worse because it didn't come true.

3. So tell me who I see when I look in your eyes: is that you, baby, or just a brilliant disguise? (“Brilliant Disguise,” 1987) Nope, it's me, unless I'm dressed up in my Pinkie Pie cosplay, LOL.

4. Do you think what I’m asking’s too much? (“Human Touch,” 1992) I dunno, depends on what you're asking for... :OP

5. Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart? (“Life Itself,” 2009) Because life's an ass?

Right...better wrap this up here, it's getting late again and I need to get enough zzzs.

Wish me luck tomorrow!

11:41pm: The internet that is, although it only just recovered an hour or so ago, I though I'd resurrected it at 7pm, but the motherfucker kept dropping out and shit. Grumble, grumble! But that might have had to do with way the Foxtel was plugged in down in the main house because - knock on wood- it's back on and it's stayed on. Praise the Lord! Beloved internet, let us never be separated again! :OP

Anyway, I kind of let myself be distracted - of course - so there's really not enough time to update this with Memes and whatnot. But I shall catch up on that later.

In other news, went to the gym again today, and the pool - I didn't do the whole shower juggling, but I left my bag up in the small lockers at the entrance of the gym (they have number locks) so I didn't have to worry about my wallet. Speaking of my bag, I realised this morning when I got to the library for my volunteering that there's a tear in it! O.o I'm not sure if that was why it was $5, maybe...but I swear it wasn't there when I bought it...

Anyway, the library volunteering went great as always, I do love the atmosphere of a library...come on Mosman Council get back to meeee.

After that there was the gym, where I did have a bit of an issue with the machines, firstly, the bicycles had a damn uncomfortable seat, or maybe I'm just not used to them anymore? I did eventually find a more comfortable way to sit. Then the cross trainer thing was weirdly set up...I felt like I was hunched over the whole time, weird!

After that I went down to Brookvale to the Vinnies and then the Salvation Army hoping to find another bag, no luck at Vinnies, but the Salvo's delivered! Although the bag isn't leather like I hoped...well as long as it doesn't end up cracking and flaking I'll be cool - although none of the mobile compartment things that come with these bags fit today's wider smartphones. Oh well.

Then I went to Aldi to get my cheese, before catching the bus back here and finally hanging out my laundry and putting the second load on. Fortunately there was enough sunlight left to dry my fitted sheet before I have to go to bed. Alas, I don't think my jeans are going to be dry by tomorrow, hopefully it'll be sunny tomorrow I can hang them out for a bit before I head out.

I'm wondering about the protest that's meant to happen near the Prime Minister's local office - which I don't think he'll be at - tomorrow. I planned to go because it's not too far from where I live, but recently there's been a whole lot of terrorist-related arrests and what not, I'm wondering if the cops might not be all paranoid, I don't want to end up arrested!

I'll probably still head on over, I did make that sign and all.

And now with four minutes to go 'til midnight, I'll wrap this up.

Aaaah it's good to be back! :OD

10:41pm: Well, this is the second one on Crime Stories in as many days! And I think they have the same plot (so to speak) of a spouse setting up the other spouse to be murdered on a beach. This would make one quite wary of going on a beachside stroll with your significant other if there's trouble in the marriage.

In other news, [personal profile] greenonme has convinced me to throw my hat in the RP ring again, I haven't RPed in forever due to lack of interest or at least a loss of playing partners, but since she's set up this RP community she's sure to be active there and hopefully I will too! :O) Although I hope I get in, I kind of did the app on the fly since it closes today/tomorrow, hope I haven't completely lost my mojo, LOL.

Today was spent lounging around, except for the part where I did my laundry, including my bedsheets and pillow case, so they're nice and clean now, yay! The wind was still gusty which had the benefit of helping everything to dry (it was also quite sunny), but the downside of almost blowing everything away even when I pegged it!

Also, it's bloody cold and the heater here doesn't seem to be doing anything again, so despite its nice fake wood fire affect I may have to buy something a lot less pretty lest my fingers freeze off! Unless, for some reason, the ironing board I've got set up is blocking it or something, but I don't think so...

I'm also sleepy, so I guess I'll wrap this up due to a lack of anything more to say. Tomorrow is also set to be another busy day what with the induction to volunteering at the Library and possibly hearing back from the Home Care people.

And now I bid you all goodnight!

11:11pm: I've been reading a figure skating community over there (I has problems yes) and I've just been reminded of why I had to leave it in the first place...the damn changes they made with that stupid ass default comment page. Ouch! And I've forgotten what to put in the address bar so I can view it in my style. Grumble grumble.

Anyway! Today was another good day! I finally got back to the gym, hooray! Also I'm most pleased with my Blu-Ray player and its very big 500Gb memory, I left it recording this morning and I think I got all of the ice skating gala! :OD Of course I think I also got a whole lotta of other stuff in it too. Hmmm, I need to get that program I had my computer during the London Olympics that lets me cut out parts of recorded videos and whatnot so I can piece it all together and I have a spectacular show to watch yay!

So, yeah, Olympics now over, the Paralympic games are on next though...hopefully ABC will show it, although alas I don't think the Pralympics has figure skating in it, which I find odd, they have basically everything else, including speed skating. I guess figure skating would be pretty full-on, never mind having a disability and trying to do it. Shame that it doesn't get to be on the main networks, but hey being on the ABC means no ads.

Hmm, I wonder if there's curling in the Paralympics? Because it would totally rock if there was and the Norway team had crazy pants! :OD

And since times is slipping away, let's do Memes!

Saturday Six

1. H is for HABITAT: How close is your current home to your “dream” home? Well, I totally love my apartment, alas I'm not there right now, but figures and toes crossed for the start of June.

2. H is for HACKER: How concerned are you about the threat of someone hacking into your personal accounts? Hmmm...well, saving my bank account, it seems it'd be more annoying than anything else? Although I wouldn't want them knowing where I live or having my phone number!

3. H is for HELICOPTER: Have you ever ridden in a helicopter? If not, would you if you had the chance? No and fuck no! I think the trip would be way to bumpy for me to be able to take! Plus they just seem kind of rickety...

4. H is for HELL: Do you believe that Hell is a real place, and if so, how do you picture it? Hmm, well I believe in Heaven, but I'm not so sure about Hell in terms of fire and brimstone and stuff...it seems weird that an all-loving God would have a Hell, even for murderers and all that. So yeah.

5. H is for HITCHCOCK: What’s your favorite Alfred Hitchcock movie? I've never actually watched one, when I was 8 I saw a clip of the shower scene in Psycho and I think they were explaining the blood was chocolate sauce, but it still freaked me the fuck out. I don't like scary movies!

6. H is for HOLIDAY: Which holiday do you wish people would take more seriously and why? Holidays in general are not SRS BSNS! Although I suppose we should always make sure that ANZAC Day (insert your own country's day of remembrance here) should always be treated respectfully.

Fifteen Meme

from Liv Rants

1. What was your first job like? It sucked pretty bad, it was pamphlet delivery, junk mail! I mean it was good exercise, but the pay was so bad! Like 0.02 cents a phamplet, plus one time I had to deliver political material for a racist party.

2. It’s a typical Sunday, how are you spending it? Go to work, go to the gym, watch My Little Pony - although I keep forgetting to do so! Just bum around on the net generally...

3. What was the happiest day of your life? Gosh, that's a toughy...although going to Disneyland was awesome!

4. What was the best decision you ever made? EVER? Man, no idea, seriously...I'm really bad at decision making really, so...

5. Tell your go-to “pretend” game as a child (who was your alter-ego?) I'd just make up stories in my head, sometimes about dolphins, other times about...any old thing. I played with my Dollhouse a lot and made my own paper dolls for it.

6. What email service do you use? Yahoo for most stuff, Gmail for professional stuff.

7. What fandoms would you consider yourself a part of? BTTF! My Little Pony! BBC's Merlin! Monkey Island! Figure skating!

8. Do you use anything on your lips? (eg. Chapstick, gloss, balm, lipstick) Lipstick for special occasions and lip balm should I get chapped lips, which I often do in winter, ow!

9. How many devices do you own which can access the internet? Including the Blu-Ray player? Hmm, big laptop, small laptop, old laptop (probably need to have that recycled) and mobile phone, which equals five.

10. Last strong smell you can remember smelling? I have a terrible sense of smell, but alas this morning at work the garbage men came to get the old fish from the fish shop down the alley and uuuugh! They were quick though, thank God.

11. If you had to move your birthday to another date, which one would you choose and why? Nah I like it right where it is! Although if I lived in the Northern Hemisphere I'd probably want to change it to 10th July so I could have a summer birthday. Winter sucks.

12. Inspiration behind your blog title? Alliteration! As for subtitles and the rest I'm a bit of a true crime buff, so that's where that comes in.

13. If you could spend a rainy day with anyone in the world, who would you choose and why? Umm...all my LJ friends! Hugs :OD

14. Is there a foreign culture that you love? Japanese culture is pretty interesting, I must say!

15. Do you have a favorite soft drink? Nope don't like soft drink.

And eek! I've just seen the time! I'll have to leave off on Unconcious Mutterings until tomorrow, I'm sure you can all wait.

For now, though, goodnight!

11:07pm: Roy & HG must have been on later than usual tonight! Usually the repeat of their Olympic show would be on now but it only ended about ten minutes ago...Unless I really got into watching YouTube videos and I don't think so? This is most unfortunate because I something went wrong with the recording and I want to re-record it but I have to go to bed pretty much now because I'm working tomorrow.

Good news is, I seem to be feeling a lot better now as far as abdominal pain goes, it was still rather bad in around the middle of the day, but I ended up having to go out and I got some fresh air and a bit of a walk in, which really seems to have helped! :O) Fingers crossed for tomorrow then! Perhaps some work is just what I need, sitting around all day can't be good for me, I should at least be going to the gym or something.

Anywho, as mentioned I got a bit caught up in watching YouTube videos, I've been getting my ice skating groove on and discovered this really odd part of the Olympic program back in the day...Compulsary Figures, which basically involved every ice skater doing little patterns in the ice while nine judges stood right there on the ice and watched. Talk about bizarre! Apparently, doing these figures makes one a better skater, I don't doubt it actually, but man I can see why they got rid of that in the competitions, talk about boring! I mean they didn't even get to make up a pattern of their own thing they all had to follow the exact same pattern. Weird! Who'd pay to see that?

The old days...weird!

Anyway, due to me sitting on my ass basically all day I have nothing at all too report, so let's look at those Memes:

Follow Friday Four Fill-Ins

The statements:

1. Tomorrow is Saturday did you all have a busy week?

2. I really think I need a thing to do that isn't computer related during the days I'm not at work.

3. I would never own a motorcycle, talk about an accident waiting to happen!

4. The craziest gift I ever got was a nice personalised poem/story of my life from 2001 to 2004 that my friend Ben made for me. Awww.

Friday5

Accessies

1. What was the last computer accessory you acquired? Um...gee...probably the Portable Hard drive, which we'd rather never speak of again.

2. What was the last clothing accessory you acquired? Um...gosh beats me. I think it was a hair elastic or something.

3. What was the last auto accessory you acquired? Don't have a car.

4. What was the last accessory you acquired for one of your hobbies? I did buy some of those make-your-own-card cards, niiice.

5. What was the last hair accessory you acquired? Oh well...I answered that in number 2...don't really make much hair accessory purchases.

And those are the only two up!

Hmmm, no luck finding out when the replay Roy & HG, do'h! I guess I'll have to try getting off the internet, you can find whatever you want on that :OP

10:18pm: My friends! I have super exciting news!

My plan worked! When I ran the Data Recovery program on my old laptop it found most of my story files! In tact! :OD Alas my folder of BTTF 1 screencaps was not among them, but I'm quite sure I backed those up on a DVD. If not I could always redo them with caps from the Blu-ray edition which would be nicer.

OMG I'm so happy! :OD

And then after that my main USB stick broke! Seriously, what the fuck?! I'm not sure if I want to bother trying to get that fixed up. It does have some files on it that I don't have elsewhere, but they're uni assignments mostly so yeah not that worried. Still I might show it to the Computer Repair people when I go to pick up my busted hard drive and see what they say. The USB plug part just fell off! I don't think anything inside is broken, but apparently getting stuff off it might be hard to do. Shame... :O(

But OMG I'm just so happy about my stories! And BTTF fanart! Thank you Data Recovery program! I am eternally grateful to you!

In other news today is my father's birthday! Alas I do not have a card for him...nor do I have a present, which kind of sucks. Although unfortunately he's not feeling in the mood for birthday wishes because he's had a tough last few days. Sigh, shame. I'll make him a card though and see if that cheers him up.

The other teachers at school got him a cake though! A yummy chocolate mud one! :OD However...I think Dad isn't that big on chocolate cake...whoops.

So the Women's Figure Skating Short Program on tonight - although probably late so I may just wait for the replay tomorrow to see it. Apparently there's an Aussie in it! How exciting! I wonder if she'll manage to get into the top 20 and thus get into the Free Program, that'd be pretty damn cool. Our ice dancing team managed it, and I thought their Free Dance was pretty kick ass, they danced to circus music! I like that sort of stuff!

I have also become oddly obssessed with Plushenko aka Plushy at this late juncture, well actually I have always like him in the Olympics (evil Australian television doesn't show figure skating competitions on free-to-air and I don't have the sports channels), but man YouTube has a shitload of stuff and I'm trying to watch it all. I have so many tabs open it's not funny. It is weird to see the difference in commentators. The British ones all respectful, the American ones seem kind of bitchy (at least to Plushy) and the Aussie ones are just plain excitable. Good times, good times.

In annoying news, my lower digestive system is being a dick, I've been in pain on and off for a few days now. So damn annoying, I haven't taken anything for it, which is not quite right...I should probably try some Buscopan see if that settles it.

And I didn't go to my Writer's Group, boo! I guess I should try to set up one on this side of the Bridge...hmmm, I guess I could ask the fellow who started the group. We could do it at Stanton Library on a Thursday, it's open 'til 9.

Anywho! Better be off. I should check it my files and see if I can't put them in order again.

Goodnight!

9:41pm: My Photobucket that is...for some reason linking stuff is not working properly, like the pictures are all viewable in thumbnail form, but when I try to zoom in or view them individually the page loads and the picture never shows up! WTF? This makes my Plurk Page less fun to look at, also I've just realised there's a whole lot of other journals I've got that use photobucket images. Geeze I wonder if they're all right!

Goes to check [personal profile] of_monmouth, hmm nope he's fine. Weird...and annoying!

And er...I should be doing my assignment, I meant to...but yeah, no. Ugh, I hate finding references and shit, the tutor guy is looking for 10 to 12! I am so bad at finding sources, or rather I find one or two, get the picture and then it's just looking for crap just for the sake of it and trying to squeeze it in. Bah! But time is getting short now - just five days until it's due...

Bah humbug!

Also I should turn in soon, so I guess tonight's gonna be a bust assignmentwise, and looking at my previous entries it seems I'm not that far behind on Memes, so fuck it, I'm gonna catch up on them:

Saturday 9

:Jingle Bell Rock:

1) Sam has affection for this song because, when she was very young, she tap-danced to it for a Christmas recital. Her parents told her she was wonderful. Do you have any memories from a school/church program or pageant -- either as a child onstage or an adult in the audience? Well, I certainly recalled how I slipped over while processing out of the church after my Confirmation. Apparently no-one noticed, thank God, but man did I feel like an idiot.

2) Ok, she admits it: After too many cups of holiday cheer, Sam did a few steps of her "Jingle Bell Rock" routine at last year's company Christmas party. Have you ever done anything at a coworker get together that you now regret? Does not going count? Because I'm quite sad I didn't get a chance to go to the Christmas Dinner, but eh, what can you do? In so far as drunken sheninigans or whatever, nope!

3) Since that unfortunate Christmas 2012 incident, Sam can't even look at a cup of egg nog. How about you? Do you like egg nog? I've never had it, I'm not sure if it's even a thing in Australia. I think maybe I saw some in Aldi, but yeah egg nog's not really my bag.

4) For special events, Sam slips on her favorite piece of jewelry: a charm bracelet that once belonged to her grandmother. Do you have a special treasure from a previous generation? Alas no. And I still can't find that black and white bracelet! This is such a bummer...I did find another nice looking one, but it's like $17 which I can't afford at this point.

5) The only Christmas card Sam has received so far in 2013 is from her insurance agent. How about you? Have any holiday cards arrived yet? Yes! I have cards from Steph, Sage and Spoo :OD And I'm just about to send the last two of mine off, luckily to people in Australia, so they should arrive in time.

6) Because of the chill in the air, Sam gave her dog his Christmas gift -- a sweater -- early this year. He's already gotten compliments on it. Are there any pets on your gift list? Nay.

7) Do you need snow to get "into the spirit?" Seeing as I live in Australia, nope. Although I must admit, it was pretty cool (pun not intended) having a white Christmas when the family visited England in 1993.

8) Are you going to get/have you gotten a flu shot this year? Nope, because I have to pay for it since I'm not in the danger group, and I've been so poor all year.

9) December is an important fundraising month for charities. Here's your chance to plug a worthy cause that means a lot to you. Hmmm...well Doctors Without Borders do a lot of important work, especially for those who need medical help the most, so yeah, if you've got the money donate to them!

The Saturday Six

1. How many pairs of scissors do you own? Er, let's see...two pairs for paper - one cooking type pair and two nail scissors.

2. How often do you get a haircut? Not too often at all, because I find it really expensive. Plus I usually get it straightened when I have a cut and that takes FOREVER.

3. Would you ever be brave enough to cut your own hair? Oh fuck no, I can't make a straight line with a ruler! It would be a total mess with my my hair let me tell you.

4. How many times have you had surgery? Once for a twisted duoeduem when I was about a year old.

5. Be honest: have you ever run with a pair of scissors in your hand? Er...maybe? But I've always made sure they were handle up.

6. Do you own a pair of poultry shears, and if so, have you ever used them to cut meat? No and no.

:The Blerp Meme:

from Lucy B.'s Surveys

When you get a headache do you take painkillers right away or try to wait it out? Try to wait it out, though now you mention it...I really should stop that, because it really doesn't work.

Is there a really funny YouTube video you’d like to recommend to me? Not that I can think of off the top of my head.

Did you watch Sesame Street when you were little? I did! And sometimes I watch it now! LOL.

What’s the last thing you touched, other than your computer?
My Blu-Ray Player remote, my TV channels are acting weird, so I rescanned them and now I can't get Ch 7 or any of it's sub-channels! Weak!

When was the last time you talked to your best friend?
Well! I have a big blast from the past when one of my best friend's called me on Skype! I haven't spoken to her in aaages! I thought she'd forgotten about us or something, but it turned out she'd just forgotten to email and then it'd had got kind of awkward. LOL, I know the feeling.

How often do you listen to music?
Usually for an hour and a half at the gym when I go, otherwise I generally listen to TV programs when I'm at home.

What color is your cell phone? Black, blah, although I have it from my little bro that he's got me a protective case in green, whee!

What is the last non-alcoholic beverage you drank? Nice cool chilled water.

Do you like to wear sweatpants? Not particularly, I'm more of a jeans or PJ bottoms type. Although the latter might sort of count..

What song are you currently listening to? Who sings it? I'm listening to Say Yes to the Dress although I've all ready seen this ep...

Have you ever gotten a black eye? Fortunately no.

What caused it? See above.

How many times have you checked up on your ex? N/A.

If you had to get a tattoo what would it be? HAD to? Er I guess a small star on whatever part would hurt the least!

How many tabs are open right now? Ooo, not including on my tablet - 6!

Are you scared of needles? Well, sort of...in so far as I once fainted after having a blood test, man that was awful. But the last few times I've had a blood test I've been fine, so yay!

Do you believe love can last forever? Sure!

Are good-byes easy or hard for you? Hard, sniff, I hate been left behind.

Would you rather sing or dance? That's a toughie, I'm awful at both! I guess I'll say dance.

10:15pm: Because [personal profile] crossover_chick's link to tumblr review of the first Back to the Future novelisation is the greatest thing I've ever read, I shit you not. I laughed until I cried at some points. Hee!

However, there was a downside, I slacked off on the NaNoing today! Which considering I woke up late today (nearly 11am!) and then went to the Day of Climate Action (late, so I missed all the speakers, do'h!), then dilly-dallied home - because I popped by the new mall building thing they're building near my old Uni - was not a good idea. I still haven't cracked the 20,000 word barrier yet! Oh dear and I even copied my story file over to my laptop so I can type at the desk here, but yeah. Oh well, on the plus side I at least know where the story is going, unlike last year where I was just kind of pulling stuff out of my butt, LOL.

Anyway, despite arriving at the Day of Climate Action late, there was still some activity going on, some petitions to sign, a neat band to listen to. There was also a very strange sight as I left...it's a line of porter potties and one has been tipped over! WTF?!

There was an interesting booth there about a Superannuation company that does responsible investment, I'm thinking I need to join that because it's right up my alley! I'm often wondering how much of my super is being invested in fossil fuel like companies, which just isn't cool.

Also I got a photo of this neat sign and this lady dressed up as the sun!

So yeah, that was cool.

After that I went and looked at the new mall that's just opened up as part of a development that's going on opposite to my old Uni, UTS. It's a very odd looking new building which boast the largest 'vertical garden' on a building yet, which means there's trees and plants growing on it. It's pretty neat! There's this interactive game inside where you can upload your heartbeat and then pick a visual experience to go with it. I choose the dancing one, heh, it projected my silluotte on the wall so I could dance...badly.

I also went and looked at the display suites for the apartments they're building on the site too. They're pretty damn fabulous! My New York lamps would look super cool in one of those, but I'm sure they're expensive as Hell.

Right, better head off now to work on the NaNo a bit more before I head to bed, I need to go to the post office to get my birth certificate before work tomorrow.

I leave you will the Word Count:

19743 / 50000 words. 39% done!

Oh noooes still not to 40% yet! D:

Well, I'm gonna have to try and fix that!

10:20pm: Because I usually mean to do so, but then I forget and by the time I remember there's like 400 emails in there. So I'm going through them now, deleting some and moving others into my multitude of folders as I'm a bit of hoarder when it comes to email.

In other news, I feel oddly sleepy even though I didn't wake up particularly early and its not particularly late. Ah well, Daylight Savings does weird stuff to a person. But I'm glad it's here! I went out this evening at about 6:20pm and the sun was still shining, ahhh.

I'm back here in the apartment, having brought over the rest of my summer clothing in a bag to hang up in the wardrobe. Which I've done, along with other cleaning up in the apartment, however, most sadly for me I accidentally stepped on my black headband with the flower on it that I bought some months ago. Aw shit, I really liked that headband! That's the reason I went out actually, I was hoping to find a replacement since I bought it at a pharmacy, but alas, of the pharmacies still open none of them had any headbands, boo. I guess I'll have to wait until I go to work on Tuesday and see if I can find something in the mall.

Not much else to report except I have Memes to catch up on!

11:11pm: Aw damnit, I thought maybe I had solved the mystery of why my bluetooth keyboard wasn't working properly last week when the battery low indication light went off. But charging it up hasn't done any good, some keys are still not working! I downloaded an app that said it'd help fix it up, but nothin' doing. I haven't got around to testing the keyboard with my old Dell laptop (which has bluetooth), I was going to do that tonight, but I was busy finishing up my picture collecting for Pinkie's mood theme. I'm happy to report that I've got allll the piccies now! Of course, I still have to make them the right size for a mood theme and all that jazz.

Oh and I had my hopes raised by the fact that a branded Motorola bluetooth keyboard is available for less than $30 on Amazon.com, but wouldn't you know it? No delivery to Australia, bloody rude!

In other news, Writer's Group this evening! Alas the bluetooth keyboard issue means I didn't get much writing done at all, boo! I also order some fries since I've got some money now and despite ordering the kids size the portion I got was absolutely enormous! I have no idea what an adult size portion would be! I ended up taking a third of it home, and I've just finished eating it. Good chips though! Even cold!

And right now I'm watching Homes Under the Hammer! I forgot that it was on on Wednesdays! I'm reminded of the fact I don't have enough of those audio-visual cables to plug all my various electronics in. Also I still don't know what to do re: the remote issue. Getting a proper branded one is quite expensive, but I'm not sure if I want to risk going the universal remote option. Hmmm...maybe I could borrow Dad's and see if it works and if it does buy one of my own. That's actually a good plan...go me!

And OMG, I was a quarter of an hour late to work today! Major ass fail! Maybe I shouldn't try too hard to be on time, I seem to jinx myself when I do. Oh well...at least I exchanged Mum's slippers, although I somehow managed not to notice the bit of backing with the barcode on it in the bag and it took five minutes for the sales assistant to find the right code on the computer. Pft, fail.

And I have made my hair appointment for Saturday morning at 8am o.O so I'll be properly groomed for the family get together in Bowral. Good for me. Now I just have to decide what I'm going to wear to the shindig, guess that'll depend on the weather. Hmmm...

And now I should be off, zzzs as always are needed!

11:05pm: Yes, look at the time! O.o I didn't realise it was so late! But I'm getting very close to gathering all the pictures for my Pinkie Pie mood theme, although I'll have to actually make the mood theme icons once this all done. So I don't think I'll be finishing it up tonight.

In other news, I went to the gym this morning, good times, but as it turned out though my mother had lent me the car I had to rush back because she'd left some stuff in the car, which lead to me leaving my crucifix behind! O.o I managed to get it back, but alas I ended up being ten minutes late for work because of all the running around. Oh dear. Fortunately, I've been good lately so when I called the boss to let him know he didn't kick my ass, but still I better make sure I get to work on time tomorrow.

Although...I need to get my upper lip and eyebrows waxed, I was thinking of doing that tomorrow morning before work, but I'm not sure if I'll have enough time. I suppose I can just go to one of the Beauticians at the Mall later on this week. Plus I need to figure out when to get my hair cut and blow dried, this weekend the extended maternal family is meeting up in Bowral so Mum wants me to look nice.

Annnnd, that's pretty much all I have to say for today, except for the fact that it's finally started raining again, after the driest winter on record. I swear, the climate is all over the place these days. Good thing I haven't put away any of my coats yet!

Now I shall be off to finish the mood theme piccie collecting.

Goodnight all!

8:49pm: Because firstly the traffic was just terrible on the Bridge, man it took forever and then there was the fact I had to go to the apartment to put my second sample (which I managed to get today) in the fridge as the instructions said. So, yeah by the time I did that it was past 7pm and since the group ends at 8pm there wasn't much point. Boo.

So here I am in the apartment, which did let me make some icons for a friend of mine on Plurk and had dinner and now I'm sitting back updating this thing and waiting for The Hamster Decides from the Chaser Team, whee! I love those guys.

Also, I should probably write a bit since I missed the Writer's Group after all...although I do have to get to bed at a decent hour because I have to head out early tomorrow to drop off those samples before work because the sooner I get them in the better.

And that's pretty much all I have to say for now. Although shout-out to [personal profile] crossover_chick for our current thread at [community profile] multiverse_nexus with Guybrush and Victor. Fun times, man, fun times.

10:21pm: Yessir, finally I gave my latest obsession wings and made me a Guybrush Threepwood, Mighty Pirate™ journal: [personal profile] youfightlikeacow (many thanks to Vic [personal profile] crossover_chick for helping me on the name). I got him a few icons, although seeing as I'm on my tablet, I'll probably redo them once I get home and have Photoshop at hand.

Although, I'll say one thing for the tablet, it has a handy ™ button on the on screen keyboard! Just like that! No HTML symboling for me.

Moving on, I think I might be returning to normal digestion wise, I hope so! Although, I'm still not sure what to do re: work on Monday...to go home tomorrow or not too? That is the question. I guess we'll have to see.

But yeah I was feeling rather off when I went out to church this evening, I almost wanted to beg-off, but I doubt any replacement to do the PowerPoint for me could have been found. But yeah, after having a proper dinner stuff has looked up. Weird. Either that or the tablets have finally kicked in. Either way a relief.

And now I shall catch up on the memes: )

Right, all caught up now! Le Tour is on so time to watch that.

11:46pm: With regards to the internet here at my parents' house, I came over to go to the gym, but planned to go back to the apartment if it still wasn't working, which it wasn't. I called up Telstra again, because it's been like 5 days now and that's not cool. Basically they couldn't tell me anything, so...

However, I came over here rather late in the day and it was dark and cold by the time I finished up at the gym, also I remembered something, I hadn't tried to restart the modem, which is quite an oversight when it comes to tech trouble-shooting. I decided I would stay over even if I couldn't get the damn thing to work, but thankfully it did, yay! Which means I didn't have to die of boredom until the tour came on. Although it's a team time trial and even though there's at least 16 wheels involved it's not quite as fun, which means I can go to sleep at a reasonable hour.

Although there's a dude cycling today with a hairline fracture of the pelvis, apparently it's important for him to be there, but I can't see the logic, surely he could only slow the team down, not to mention the possible long term damage! I hope he'll be OK...

And as it's almost midnight it's time for me to haul ass!

11:28pm: Well, sort of, I've only just finished watching the long play of Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge on YouTube, which I started watching last night- ah that takes me back.

Although probably not to the 90s because the special edition, which is the one I watched had new graphics and voices, the latter is weird, because I swear the original version had voices, but it couldn't have. I know I used to act the lines to myself when playing, strangely enough a few of the voices I used sounded just like the ones in the game, LOL weird.

Anyway, I'm here at the grandparents' but the Canasta playing doesn't start until tomorrow which is why I was watching YouTube videos in the first place.

Also my aunt was here when I arrived, she didn't stay for dinner, but it was nice to see her, while we were all here Grandpa called Mum on the cruise ship before it set sail, apparently there's a camera on the ship which you can access on the net and see how it's going, which is pretty damn neat.

There's also unfortunate and surprising news from Wimbledon, Roger Federer is out! D: which sure does suck and it's the first time such a thing has happened in like 6 years. So now I'm left to go for the remaining Aussies, Andy Murray or maybe Jokevic (spelling?).

Oh well, at least the Tour de France will be exciting, especially since I've joined the Fantasy Team web page and will be up against my Uncle Sam and some people from work, although not really because they've put money in and I haven't. Still, sure to be interesting.

Speaking of money, great news! I've been given a raise! Or..at least a CPI increase in take home pay, I'm not sure if that actually counts as a raise, but what the Hell, I'll take it! Plus, my boss did say I was much appreciated by the staff. Yay! Now if only I could get a part-time role somewhere so I could remain there, not sure what my chances are of that, though.

And since it's getting late, I best head off now, I don't want to wake up late and miss prime-Canasta time! I'll do the Memes tomorrow.

For now I bid you all goodnight!

11:58pm: Oops, I forgot to update! I started reading Cracked articles and totally lost track of time! Whoops.

I'll make this brief then? Since I didn't actaully do much of anything today except clean my apartment and it's looking very fine indeed! Plus it passed muster with Mum so all is good :O)

Also it rained all day long and I still haven't bought a new umbrella so I didn't go out, but I need to go out tomorrow to discuss the parking space with the current renter, for one thing they don't seem to have paid me yet, and for another I've just discovered I've been ripping myself off! I should be charging them at least $30 a week. If they haven't paid me by tomorrow I'm upping the price and if they don't want to take it there's still someone else I can call (who dropped a leaflet off in my mailbox).

And that's all I have to say about that.

Now off to bed with me!

11:08pm: Weatherwise I mean, it was almost 20 degrees C cooler today then it was yesterday!

However, in a bizarre twist it's actually hotter in my apartment tonight then it was yesterday! I have no idea why that is, the only reason I can figure is that it's quite humid today as compared to yesterday and I think the apartment traps wet heat more than dry. Which really sucks because humidity always feels worse than dry heat. And it makes my hair really puffy!

In other news tomorrow is my birthday and I'm turning 29 gulp! I don't feel like a 29 year old at all! Case in point I baked myself birthday cupcakes and my favourite part? Getting to lick the bowl, LOL!

Not to mention the excitemeent I get out of playing the My Little Pony app, although I do wonder when the next update will be, or if it'll snow in Ponyville forever! Still, at least my ponies can be cool. :OP

Not much else to report really, oh! I had some more training today with the receptionist duties, I like to think I got everything writtten down and will be ready and able to do the tax related mail tomorrow and onwards.

And finally I found a kickass map of Medieval Britian which really help in my Geoffrey tale since I need some city names and whatnot. I've found a few maps before but they've all been too small to read not so this one!

But that will have to wait until later though because it's bedtime now.

Lastly...my sunburn is finally beginning to fade, it's hardly noticible now, except in the sleeve area. I better be careful in future though, because damnit that sucks!
