10:14pm: Yes, it's Leap Forward Time Down Under! Which I'm very pleased about because I love it when the sun is up in the late afternoon and evening. The downside, of course, is that at the start of the process an hour is lost...so it's actually more like 11:14pm right now, in which case I better make this quick because I'm off to Archery tomorrow morning and it'll start at what feels like 8am rather than 9am!

Not much to report, although I'm working on a new cross stitch having finished Pusheen on a tropical beach (although I might add one more detail), it's Pusheen doing Archery (of course!) :O) However since this requires a bit more deviation from the patterns that came in the Pusheen cross stitch kits I've just had to unpick half of it because of a mistake, whoops.

After a week and a half I finally got back to the gym today, yay, so I'm feeling good about that.

I've also noticed that more Friday Fives are available, but I might have skip those for now because I really should get my butt in bed! It seems that short entries are my life right now :OP I blame Sims, I'm still playing Sims 4 and Lady, who's doing really well, I've actually had her start doing cross stitch as well XD

There's also skating, which is another downside, I suppose, of daylight saving in that everything is now an hour (soon to be two) hour later than it was before. This means it's a lot harder for me to catch competitions that take place in Europe live because they start at like 11pm or midnight.

Anyway, wish me luck tomorrow!

Goodnight!

11:01pm: Yes indeed! I went ice skating today in person. Hooray for me! :O) It was fun as always, although I was a bit later than usual because I stopped at the Discount Homey-Ped shop on my way there - I got some closed in shoes this time, I think the ones I have now are getting a bit worn out, I did get them like six months ago and I wear them a lot.

Speaking of shoes, I wore those closed-toe sandals to work yesterday, but alas I'm not sure if they work with my orthodics, my right heel kept slipping a bit, which may or may not explain my right foot pain today. I'm a bit worried it's that plantar fasciitis thing again. I don't need that shit, man. I have some anti-inflammatory tablets that I got for it, but I dunno if I want to take those. Maybe I'll just use the anti-inflammatory gel and see if that helps.

Grumble grumble.

Anyway, daylight savings starts tomorrow, which means it's actually an hour later than it is (although it doesn't officially begin until 2pm)! And since I have to get up tomorrow morning I really should get a move on.

Aside from shoes I also bought a new pretty green toaster from E-Bay, because my current one is broken, it's supposed to arrive on Friday! I'm looking forward to it - I've selected to pick it up at a nearby Woolworths, hopefully that'll go smoothly.

And that's all I have to say for now, goodnight all!

Locked!

Oct. 1st, 2016 10:14 pm
anonymoose_au: (I Don't Know...)
9:50pm: Aww nuts, I bought the first two seasons of Modern Family on DVD while I was at the SupaCentre today buying the tea spoons that had finally come in at the homewares shop there only to discover just now that the Season one's DVD lock is still engaged! Which means I can't open the case, bugger. Also it sounds like it might be sort of...broken inside, which sucks because that means whenever you open it (once I can do that) some of the DVDs will fall out!

And now I've got to find a way to get the case open, one possibility could be the library, although I'm not sure if Mona Vale has a DVD unlocker thing - I know there's one at Dee Why Library - or used to be at least. I'm not sure I an really be bothered to go to Dee Why Library tomorrow before I head off to work. Either way I don't feel like hiking all the way back to the SupaCentre to get it open! I suppose if all else fails I'll have to go to the JB Hi-Fi at the Mall, which is still kind of annoying.

Moving on, I didn't go ice skating after going to the SupaCentre because I'm at Mum and Dad's house for the night - so I can go to church with them early tomorrow - and with Daylight Saving kicking in tonight that means a whole hour is lost and I wanted to get the most out of my wi-fi time here.

As it is it's technically all ready 11pm! I have to go to sleep as soon as House Hunters Renovations finishes, in which case I should do a few more Memes and wrap this up.

Friday5

16/9/16

That's My Fund-Day

1. What’s the last thing you didn’t want but purchased anyway because someone’s kid was raising funds for something? Hmm, nothing comes to mind. After all fundrasing often involves chocolate and I'm good for that. :OP

2. What’s something you’re always happy to buy when kids sell it as a fundraiser? LOL see the tail-end of my answer above.

3. What was the last fundraiser you participated in? Man, I haven't been involved in one since school! And that's...gulp 13 years ago now.

4. What are your feelings about the endless cycle of fundraising? It seems...annoying? But I guess how else can one get money? Especially if it's a non-profit.

5. What’s something people don’t sell as a fundraiser but really should? Ummm...books? But I guess technically they do that because you can buy them at Vinnies etc and the money there goes to charity. I guess because of the obesity issues in Australia it should be fruit!

23/9/16

All Over

1. What would you like right now to be coated with? Like this moment? 'Cause that question doesn't really make a lot of sense! I wouldn't say no to a Cherry Ripe though.

2. What’s something you recently slathered on something else? I slathered a whole lot of butter on Mrs S's toast on Friday morning - she likes it that way.

3. What’s something you purchased recently whose purpose is to cover something? Uh...I have no idea honestly? I bought some cling-wrap but it was so long ago I don't remember when!

4. What do your current bed linens look like? Dark green sheets and pillow case, with a New York City Skyline doona cover and pillow case and a dark green U-Shaped pillow case.

5. Under what circumstances did you last wear some kind of gloves? At Mrs S's place for personal care , gotta keep it clean. :OP

30/9/16

Impromptu

1. What’s something you’ve created while improvising in the kitchen? I'm not an improvisor so I got nothing. Oh wait! Thickened cream on grapes is really delicious, but that's probably a known fact. :OP

2. In your work, how good are you at winging it? Pretty good...although I do prefer clear instructions!

3. When you travel, how much of your trip do you make up as you go? Don't travel much, although the last time I did I pretty much winged it the whole time!

4. How structured are your plans for this weekend? Since I work on the weekends, quite structured in terms of that, but after work I'm pretty free.

5. What’s something you’ve discovered while wandering around in your neighborhood? My neighbourhood's very quiet and is just residential property, so...nothing.

Okedoke, finally caught up on the Friday5! Round of applause, please! ;OD

And now, I bid you all goodnight!

11:49pm: I ended up having to use LJ's updating page, which is just terrible now...but here's the text of said entry:

I'm updating from LJ for once...what the shit have they done to the update page here? It took me a good minute to figure out why my text wasn't showing up - it was but it happened to be hiding behind the options bar, why the Hell is this option bar in the way? Heads should roll... :OP

Anyway, the exciting news today is me going ice skating! Good times, good times! And I'm very relieved that I haven't lost it! Skating is a bit like riding a bike in that you don't forget how to do it, but it takes a while to pick it up again as evidenced by when I returned to the rink earlier this year where I could hardly skate at all!

I was hoping to take a picture, but without a selfie-stick it turned out to be impossible to get one with my skates in the photo. I tried to take some video of me skating, but my video taking skills are decidedly poor.

In other news, I realised while driving to Macquarie that I have work at the Mona Vale Library tomorrow! It had totally slipped my mind, although even if I hadn't remembered just then, I would have when I checked my phone since I set up a reminder in my calendar, knew that was a good idea. Note to self, must remember to bring my pass along, otherwise I won't be able to get inside.

After ice skating and a bit of shopping (I didn't get anything exciting) it was off to church, where I found out that another one of our priests are getting reassigned to some other parish. This is the third guy they've moved in like a year. What's the deal with that? Do they not like the Northern Beaches. :OP Although our Deacon is getting ordained at the end of the month so I guess he'll be the new priest.

And of course, since it's now daylight savings the sun was still out when church finished and I hung out my second load of washing and since then I've been lying around here on the couch. :O)

Right, this update page hurts my eyes so I'm gonna wrap this up here. I hope DW will back up tomorrow!

Goodnight all!

10:54pm: Yes indeed! Daylight Savings begins tonight, yay! Although this does mean it's actually an hour later than it is, so I really should go to bed because I need to get up early to do my laundry, it's a day later than usual because of work at the library today, but if the weatherpeople are right I won't have to worry about my clothes not drying. It's supposed to be 35 degrees C tomorrow! Yikes! I have no idea what I'm going to wear to work tomorrow...I have to wear closed in shoes, but will I be too hot in long trousers? The root of the problem is, I can't wear closed-in shoes without socks because otherwise my feet sweat like a bitch, but you can't wear socks when you're wearing skirt so what am I meant to do? I did try those footlet things, however they just make my feet sweat more!

Also, I haven't waxed my legs, so I guess...pants it is.

What else to report? Well, I sewed my petticoat layers to the yoke this evening and discovered...that I've probably done the wrong thing again. You will probably remember me going on about the gathering and how I used a length of wool to do it? Well, the layers ended up being too tight so when I tried to put the petticoat on I couldn't get it over my hips! So it has occurred to me, I don't need the length of wool after all, it'll get gathered when I attach to the yoke. Big ass fail right there. Now the poor yoke has a hole in it...I don't think it'll get bigger, but how annoying.

But! Work today went really well! I think I'm getting the hang of working at the circulation desk, although admittedly I didn't spend a lot of time on it because for most of the day there were three of us there so I took care of the shelving because there were a Hell of a lot of books. A couple of times it got quite busy, with the HSC and other school exams coming up the computers were busy, busy indeed. Thankfully, unlike yesterday no-one came in when there was only five minutes to closing time to print or scan something.

I wonder how tomorrow will go? The public holiday is on Monday so there could be even more returns and shelving to do then there was yesterday! Plus there will be just me and one other person. I wonder how it'll go.

Anyway, I should probably do the Meme and change the clocks in the house before I hit the hay.

Saturday 9

:Straight Up (1988):

1) In this song, Paula sings about being in a dream. Did you dream last night? I did! It got very strange...one moment I was looking for shoes the next I was helping to translate Russian directions for someone. I think Plushy might have shown up briefly, LOL.

2) When Paula enrolled at California State University, she planned on studying broadcasting and becoming a reporter. Think about your career aspirations when you were 19. Did you follow through and stay on track or, like Paula, did you veer off and find success elsewhere? Well! I definitely wanted to work in a library, and after more than 10 years and some volunteering...that finally seems to be coming to pass! Whoo go me!

3) For a while she was a "Laker Girl" and performed at L.A. Laker games. Do you have a favorite NBA team? Nope.

4) Paula was once married to Brad Beckerman of Stillhouse Spirits, a company that specializes in whiskey. What's your favorite alcoholic beverage? Don't like alcohol.

5) Paula has been dancing since age 8 and, as you can see from the video, Paula moves very well in heels. Tell us about your most comfy shoes. My sneakers are very nice and comfortable although most of my shoes feel a lot better since I got my new orthotics.

6) Paula admits it was her passion for jewelry and that inspired her to design her own line for QVC and Avon. What is your favorite thing to go shopping for? Hmmm...that's a toughie, I do like shopping for books, although I only have limited space so I really should cut down on doing that. I do enjoy shopping for chocolate, LOL!

7) She advises young girls to "keep the faith and don't lose your gut instinct." How about you? Are you more logical or instinctive? Instinctive, sometimes to my detriment, see my recent car buying woes for a good example. :O/

8) In May, Paula traveled to Austria for The Life Ball, a fundraiser to help those afflicted with HIV/AIDS. When is the last time you left the country? Way back in 2001 when I went my friend, my mother and her friend to Bali for schoolies.

9) Paula Abdul is a spokeswoman for Avon's "Go Check Yourself" campaign for breast health awareness. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Do you know anyone who has been touched by this disease? Fortunately no.

Right, that's pretty much all I have to say for today, oh! My cupcakes were a big hit, although my mother really added some class by putting whipped cream on them. There were some left over so perhaps I'll get a chance to have one when I visit the grandparents on Monday.

Oh and I made lasagna for dinner, yum yum! So I'm set for lunch and dinner tomorrow...and the next day too :O)

Right, goodnight all!

Too Lazy...

Oct. 5th, 2014 11:40 pm
anonymoose_au: (Attempting to Give a Damn)
10:35pm: To make a start on (yes, a dreaded) this assignment about conversations, primarily because it's just occurred to me I really don't have a lot of conversations...at least not verbally. This is kind of awkward, because now I'm gonna have to make some shit up. But really in order not to make crap up you really would have to take notes while conversing or just after you finished so you don't forget things which kind of makes it a bit unnatural.

So yeah, I tried to make a start on that tonight, but...er...I failed. :OP Gotta do something tomorrow though, I was thinking of going to the library until I remembered that it'll be closed tomorrow because it's a public holiday. Damn. Gotta discipline myself!

Anyway, in other news, M won the Canasta game this morning! Even though she was a bit dizzy from this new medication (well, she's going to taper off on taking it because it's not working very well), she still managed to take me down! We started another game, but that remains unfinished and inducement to go back - not that I need one, but you know.

Also Grandpa got me in for lunch, which was a roast pork dinner and a chocolate pudding thing, ooo so delicious! :OD However I somehow managed to miss my bus back to the flat despite the fact it was more than 15 mins late! I got complacent and left too late, arriving within eyeshot of the bus stop just in time to see the bus whizz past. It would be almost another hour before the next one came, so I decided fuck it and walked home. Which didn't take long, but it was bloody hot today (up to 30 degrees C!) so that might not have been the wisest idea. I don't appear to be sunburned or anything so I guess I'll live.

Although after that I couldn't be bothered to go out to do some food shopping or go to the gym, hmpf, come on me get it together! On the plus side, the pool reopens on Tuesday so I'll be able to go swimming!

Annnd to wrap this up, Meme time!

Follow Friday Four Fill-Ins

The statements:

1. During thunder storms, I get a little frightened!

2. While I like walking, I wouldn’t want to be in a marathon!

3. Reading while walking, is probably not the best idea, but I did it today with no tripping over!

4. Why would anyone work at a cigarette company? I pray I'd never be that desperate! D:

Friday5

Rebel, Rebel

1. In what ways have you rebelled against your upbringing? Uhh...I guess not having a significant other or even any dates. Mum used to encourage me to go on some, but I'm not interested in those sheninigans and she gave up on that. LOL.

2. In what ways have you rebelled against your schooling? I got nothin' I'm a good student! Unless you'd count half-assing some assignments, but who hasn't done that?

3. In what ways have you rebelled against American culture? Well, I'm Australian so...

4. Is it possible to rebel against yourself? Well, I have tried to stand up to my anxiety and push myself outside my comfort zone, so maybe that counts? Or anxiety itself is trying to rebel against me, but I ain't havin' it!

5. What’s your favorite song about rebellion? Well I do like that song that goes "With a rebel yell, she goes more, more, more! In the midnight hour she yells more, more, more." Or something like that.

Saturday 9

:Rubber Ducky (1970):

1) This song is sung by Muppet Ernie. Who's your favorite Muppet? Well I do like Ernie a lot, but I've also really liked Grover for some reason. And the Count, ha ha ha ha!

2) Ernie became famous on PBS's Sesame Street. What public television shows do you watch? Well, we've got quite a few public television shows on the ABC, including Sesame Street. Although we also get a lot of US and British shows. My favourite Aussie made shows are Million Dollar Minute and Mad As Hell. Unless you mean like totally public access shows, because I don't watch that channel, it's just too hokey, LOL.

3) When you were a little kid, what was your favorite TV show? I was a huge fan of Inspector Gadget, good times, good times.

4) On Sesame Street, Ernie frequently teases his best friend Bert by stealing his nose. Do you enjoy practical jokes? LOL, Bert...And no not a fan of practical jokes, I prefer puns and the like.

5) Sesame Street creators developed carefree Ernie and serious Bert to show children that different types of people can be good friends. Think about your closest friend. Tell us how you two differ. Awww, that's sweet! As for me and my closest friends, well they're all quite a bit less silly than me. :OP

6) Bert and Ernie share a basement apartment on Sesame Street. Tell us about the basement of the building you're in right now. Really? I never knew that. And there's no basement where I am, the one at the apartment is the underground garage for parking, as a rule Australian houses don't have basements.

7) Ernie and Bert were created by Jim Henson. In addition to being an accomplished puppeteer, Mr. Henson was also a talented cartoonist. Can you draw? I can! I'm not super-talented or anything, I certainly suck when it comes to trying to shade stuff, sigh. But I enjoy it!

8) Jim Henson made his first puppets himself using felt, foam rubber, string and rods -- all items that can be purchased at an arts and crafts store. When is the last time you shopped in an arts and crafts store? A few months ago when I got some stuff for my Plushy plushy. Cuddles said plushy!

9) When is the last time you took a bath (as opposed to a shower)? Uh...wow, probably six months or something, I don't have a bath at either the Granny flat or apartment and now that my parents have moved there's no bath at their house either. Guess bathtime is over for me!

Saturday Six

1. Who was your favorite teacher from elementary through high school and why? Man, that's a tough one because there were quite a few of them, especially in high school with all the different subjects. But I'll always have a soft spot for Miss Jones my Year Five teacher who encouraged me in my writing. Thanks, Miss Jones!

2. Overall, did you tend to get along well with teachers, not get along, or somewhere in the middle.? Ha ha, I'm such a teacher's pet, I was like the only person who got on with English teacher in Year 11 and 12. Everyone seemed to think she was a huge bitch, but I thought she was great!

3. Think of the various subjects you studied and the teachers who taught those subjects: overall, which subject (or department) do you think had the most teachers who knew their subject matter well enough to teach it effectively? Uh, well I went to a private school which could afford to hire very good teachers, I don't recall any that couldn't teach their subject, except for perhaps one particular teacher, it wasn't her lack of knowledge it was her ability to keep the classroom in order. It was pretty sad really eventually she left and we ended up with a substitute for the rest of the year!

4. Which subject or department had the fewest teachers who you felt knew the subject matter well enough to teach it effectively? Oh...well, see above. Although the PE Department had the most unsympathetic teachers, who had us swimming in the freezing outdoor pool while they were wearing padded coats and telling us "Oh it's not so cold."

5. How many teachers have you kept in touch with since you graduated from high school? None alas, which is a shame, but Facebook wasn't that big back then so yeah. They probably wouldn't want to keep in contact with students anyway, LOL!

6. How many teachers have you not kept in touch with but would like to speak to again? Ooo quite a few, as I said I liked most of my teachers and would like to know what they're up to... The only one I saw with any regularity funnily enough was an old science teacher who worked out at the same gym I used to. He must have been younger than I thought because he'd be like 80 now if I'd been correct in my assumption!

Random 20

1. Have you had an argument with anyone recently? If so, do you still have issues with that person? Nah, my last argument was with my parents and we forgave each other a while back. :OP

2. Are you talking to anyone while filling this in? How about texting/chatting on Facebook? Nope, I am watching Homes Under the Hammer though.

3. Have you done something recently that helped someone else, in any way? Well, I did some ironing for my granparents today, and hung out some clothes for Mum's friend in the main house.

4. Who was the last person to pay you a compliment? Uh...M probably.

5. Is there anything that’s happened in the past month, that you wish you could go back in time and change? Well, I sure wish I had got an interview for the library job, give me a chance you bastards!

6. What colour is your purse/wallet? Black.

7. What’s the closest item to you that’s black? The remote controls for the TV and Foxtel or even my laptop.

8. Think about what you looked like 5 years ago. How did you look different, compared to the way you look now? Haha no, I look exactly the same. Exactly.

9. Before Facebook became popular, did you use any other social networking site, like Bebo or Myspace? I used LJ, good times, good times, not as busy there these days though, boo.

10. Has someone of the opposite sex ever sung to you? If so, how did you respond to it? LOL whut? No. And I guess it'd depend if they were any good or not.

11. When did you last hug someone of the opposite sex? Not including relatives, my friend Ben a few weeks ago.

12. Have you ever seen the film “Casablanca”? Did you like it? Nope, not really my bag.

13. Do you have a relative whose name begins with ‘L’? Tell me about him/her. Well there's my father's older sister, Lorraine. I don't see her much, but she's quite nice and after Grandma died she seemed to have inherited the collection of birthday cards with eeriely accurate pictures of the recipient on the front of them. Because my father married at a much later age, her children were a lot older than me and my brothers so we didn't see them much.

14. Are you a secretive person? Nope, I'm pretty much an open book.

15. When did you last eat? Uh, I had some Eton crackers twenty minutes ago or something.

16. If you were going to buy a present for a special person, what would you generally choose? I suck at picking out gifts, I'd probably get 'em a gift card. I would make them a nice card though!

17. If I’m going to buy you a box of chocolates, which kind should I definitely NOT get? Mint ones...or ones with nuts in them, I don't like either.

18. Is there something you generally always ask for help with? Uh...pretty much everything :OP But in all seriousness, probably big life decisions, I suck at making those.

19. If you had to give up your phone or your computer, which would it be? See ya later phone!

20. Has anyone called you gorgeous/beautiful today? Aside from myself Nope.

11:03pm: Not allowed Internet because Grandpa's planning to download something big and needs all his bandwidth, so I'm updating on my phone and thus will make this quick.

The day started out kind of crappy what with having woke up at 10:30 later than I wanted and with my abdominal pain still happening. Then when I realised I was out of Zoloft and walked up to the pharmacy I found it closes at 12:30 on Saturday and isn't open at all on Sunday and with Monday being a public holiday...Guess I shouldn't have left my script there after all.

Luckily my father also takes Zoloft so Mum who was going to the mall was nice enough to bring some tablets to me and give me a lift. After an unfortunate experience last year I certainly don't want to go without them for three days again!

Anyway, Church went well and I bought some Jaffas from Woolies afterwards and still managed to get the bus. Dinner was delicious, cutlets, corn, beans and potatoes and onions. Plus apple pie with custard and ice cream for dessert! Delicious!

And now I must go, Daylight Savings starts tonight so it's actually an hour later than it feels and I need to be up early for Canasta!

Wish me luck! Goodnight!

Also my right elbow hurts for some reason, like I've strained it, surely not from Friday's session at the gym, because I'd have thought it would have shown up earlier if that were the case.

Anyway, getting to bed on time sure worked wonders for my headache, it was gone this morning and I felt pretty good so today I didn't even feel jet lagged, yay!

And here's short entry syndrome par excellence because off I go! Wish me luck with the assignment!

But! I did find this fabulous icon which is full of true facts. So woo-hoo!

In other news, daylight savings began today so we lost an hour, but the sun didn't sent until just after 7pm, I approve! Although, my body clock is sort of messed up, for a while I felt like it was way later than it was, now I feel like it's earlier. Weird...

1. Describe your favorite old portrait of yourself: how old were you when the portrait was made and what were you doing? The portrait of me in Albert the Tuxedo Dress when I'm looking silly! It's fab!

2. Of the photos of people you have on display in your home, what percentage of them would you estimate have you in the photo? I only have one photo on display in my house and it has me in it, so that's 100% I guess.

3. Which do you prefer in a portrait in terms of background: a solid color, a textured color, or a very scenic background? I like a nice background I must say.

4. Which do you prefer in a portrait: the subject smiling, looking serious or looking like they’re in thought? Smiling! :OD

5. Which do you prefer in a portrait: the subject making eye contact with the lens or not making eye contact with the lens? Uh...depends really.

6. You see a portrait of someone — male or female — who is in exceptionally good physical shape: how likely is that photo to make you take action to get in better shape yourself? Eh 0%, I'm lazy, LOL.

And it's almost midnight so I better haul ass!

Oh and before I go! I got a tumblr - because I'm a sheep - see here: http://anonymoose-au.tumblr.com

10:54pm: Can we all say 'eeeeeee!' Well I will, often and vocally! :O)

However, in amongst this good news is some very bad news :O( I seem to have left my bus tickets in their little purple sleeve on the bus! $20 or more worth! I don't rate my chances of ever seeing them again and I won't even get a change to find out until Tuesday because Monday is a public holiday and the Lost Property department isn't open on weekends. :O( Bah!

Today is also the start of daylight savings, or rather tomorrow morning at 2 is, I'm quite looking forward to it because, yay! Daylight! We do still loose an hour, but what can you do I guess?

This evening I went over to my friend's apartment and another friend joined us so we could watch Doctor Who, it's the second last episode of the series and it was a good watch. Then we attempted to watch the Doctor Who movie, because my other friend hadn't seen it, but Daylight Saving day always makes one feel like it's later than it is, and said friend kept falling asleep so we called it a night..

And, I didn't do much of my assignment at all...whoops. I have to get onto that, damnit.

Right, meme time!

Saturday 9

:Sleeping to Dream:

1. Do you ever go to sleep to simply dream? No, because unless I'm sick, I can't nap without feeling like a pile of crap and if I am sick I'm not in a very creative mood so it's moot.

2. When you’re having trouble staying awake, what are some things you do to make sure you don’t drift off to sleep? Usually I just sort of slap my own cheeks or eat a chocolate or something. A surprisingly good way to stay awake is do that almost fall asleep thing and then jerk awake again. Wakes you right up again, at least for a while.

3. What’s most likely to cause you a prolonged period of not enough sleep? Reading stuff online, damn you fanfiction! Shakes fist. :OP Or a good TV show.

4. When you’re going through a prolonged period of not enough sleep, what parts of your daily routine are likely to change, and how? Well, basically my brain will go to shit, so my lack of sleep doesn't last for all that long because I simply can't function. They'll be a complete lack of proper thinking going on.

5. In what ways does your personality change when you go through a prolonged period of not enough sleep? See above, basically I become a zombie and even more distractiable than I all ready am!

6. Who in your life seems regularly to have not enough sleep? Well, my father often seems to be lacking in sleep, although since he's had his back op he's doing way better so that's good know. Otherwise, some of my poor internet friends. Off to bed with you all at a reasonable hour. :OP

7. When your sleeping, do your closer friends tend to be male or female? Why do you think that is? Huh, I don't understand the question. Do you mean when I'm dreaming or something? 'Cause I don't know, never really thought about it.

8. If you could wake up tomorrow with a new talent, what would it be? Ooo, I would love to be able to speak Japanese, that'd be all sorts of cool!

9. In a dream, is your past something that you can go back to? Sometimes, I can't make it happen, but sometimes it does.

Well the other Meme isn't up yet, so I guess I'll wrap it up here. I've just realised it's technically 12am so I better turn in! I don't want to oversleep tomorrow for a variety of reasons! :O)

11:32pm: Yes indeed, it's set to end this week...on the plus side we get an extra hour's sleep, but on the downside, it will now get dark around five o'clock, which is a complete pain in the arse. Damn you farmers!

Good news, I've been playing Sim City 4 and I've managed to get Hill Valley back on track and I'm making money and everything. Go me! :OD

Anywho, tomorrow my friend is coming over to join us for Easter lunch and then I'll be heading over to her place on Monday for a get together, hopefully the other friends can come too. Been a while since I've seen them.

Went to Church tonight, the Easter Vigil, I think it's the first time I've been to that particular service in a long time because I don't remebere it taking so much time. Like an hour and a half! Quite unusual.

And now Memes!

Saturday 9

:Hurts So Good:

1. Tell us about the last time you really got hurt.

Like physically? Or mentally? For the former, last year I ran into my glass table at the apartment and got the worst bruise on my butt. Seriously hurt like a bitch. Took weeks to go away.
Mentally? I'm not sure, getting my arse fired last year, probably counts.

2. What's your oldest possession?

Gee, I don't know...I've got some old books and stuff...but I couldn't say how old though.

3. Do you have any phobias?

Yes! Emetophobia like whoa...let's not discuss it, makes me nervous.

4. What values did your parents instill in you?

Let's see...honesty, um...faith...and er...dunno, other good stuff. LOL.

5. What are your plans for Easter?

See above.

6. I like sun more than snow.

Well, yeah so do I in general...that's not even a question though!

7. Tell us about 3 fads from your teenage years.

Tamogotchi (anyone remember those?)
Uh...I dunno...I never paid attention, LOL!

8. Tell us what is the most important attribute in a lover.

I'm not looking, but they'd have to be nice!

9. What new piece of technology have you resisted buying and what would it take for you to change your mind?

A GPS phone type thing...and I'd get it if I had the money and was out of contract with my phone, which I won't be for some time.

And that's the only meme up! Which is probably good because it's almost midnight and you know I hate to miss a day.

And so I say goodnight and Happy Easter to you all!

10:40pm: That's my catch cry, not that it seems to do much good. Sigh! Come on self, do uni stuff!

Anyway...not much to report today, except I suppose Daylight Savings needs to end because when I woke up this morning just before 7am it was so dark outside I thought it was about 4am instead! Plus I have to get myself up early tomorrow so I can get to the library.

That being the case, I best get myself to bed soon, but first Memes!

Monday Movie Meme

This week's movie topic is all about Sex Scenes...

Sex sells. That's why you see it - on one level or another - everywhere. It can either be alluded to or explicit. In the world of movies, sometimes a sex scene is more effective if the actions are just implied. Other times, full on images of the process make the best impact. Tasteful or tactless, romantic or disturbing, scenes of a sexual nature always get a reaction. Here are some examples that caught our attention. Share on your blog movie scenes involving sex that raised your eyebrows or made you roll your eyes.

Well, I can tell you that this show my mother was watching last night was a shock! Goddamn every second scene was a sex scene, boobs in your face and people making noise like they were been choked to death. It was quite hilarious after a while. But yeah...that was a mini-series rather than a movie...

I don't really watch movies that have sex scenes in them...at least not ones that come out of nowhere and make you go - say what?! Although I seem to recall there were some in Love Actually, two porn stars, yikes...

The Sunday Seven

THIS WEEK’S QUESTION:

Name the seven paid holidays you’d offer to your employees if you were limited to giving them only seven.

1. New Year's Day
2. Australia Day
3. ANZAC Day
4. Queen's Birthday
5. Labour Day (in October)
6. Christmas Day
7. Boxing Day

And in closing, I'd like to congratulate President Obama for bringing in Universal Healthcare! I remain utterly confused by those protesting it - it's like "OMFG, health care that doesn't cost an arm and a leg! Bad news!" Do they live in reality?

And on that contraversial note, I'm off!

Goodnight all!

10:02pm: Yep! It's that time of the year again! Daylight Savings returns, woo-hoo! :OD Although losing an hour does suck, but the payoff is great.

Anywho! It's been raining all day and it looks like it's going to continue that way, which sucks a bit. I hope some is going into the dam.

Also, went to Church with Dad today - he did the music, including my favourite hymn and a special presentation he put together for Marriage Sunday - which is in fact next week, despite the fact the readings today were pretty marriage heavy. Figure that one out LOL. Anyway, it all went well, which is always good for Dad.

Anyway Meme time!

Saturday 9

:Let's Go to Bed:

1. Has a relationship been effected by how one of you slept?

Hmm, maybe a bit, but only with family members and they tend to forgive and forget.

2. What side of the bed do you sleep on?

I've only had single beds so I tend to sleep in the middle.

3. Do you sleep on your back, side, or stomach?

All of the above, I toss quite a bit. I usually go to sleep on my side but wake up on my stomach.

4. Describe the bedding on your bed right now. How does it change with the seasons? Are you particular about your pillows or linens?

Uh, well, it's in the washing so nothing...I'll have to sleep like that I guess.

5. When sleeping with someone, do you hog the bed, steal covers, or snore?

Hmmm, haven't shared a bed with anyone for ages, I think it might have been with my mother and I stayed on my side of the bed because apparently I kick in my sleep and I didn't want to kick my mother, LOL

6. What do you wear to bed? If it varies, explain.

In warmer weather I wear a tank top and boxer shorts.
In colder weather I wear long fannel pants and either a fannel pj top or a t-shirt (at least since I got my two pairs of Simpsons pjs! :O)

7. No matter how much you love someone, would you rather alone?

Sleep you mean? Well I've never had a romantic relationship so I don't know in that case.

8. Tell us about a time when you awoke in bed, saw the person next to you and thought, "Oh, no..."

N/A.

9. Tell us about a time when you awoke thinking it was a different day than it was.

Hmmm...I'm not sure that's ever happened, but one time I went to bed early and woke up two hours later and I was convinced that it was morning - despite the darkness. And I thought the time on the clock was am not pm and I was super late so I threw on my school uniform and hurried downstairs to find my mother watching TV.
Yeah, that was weird!

Hmmm that appears to be the only meme up at the moment, which considering everything's an hour later than I think is probably good.

So that being the case, I bid you all, goodnight!

8:20pm: So Daylight Saving is starting in 11 days, which by my calculations means we also get the Labour Day holiday to recover from the change in time! Great decision, whoever it is who makes these decisions, people are never in the swing of things by Monday so this'll be cool. :O)

Anywho, this is of interest - I swiped it from [livejournal.com profile] foxywriter's LJ:

Your challenge is to write crossover fanfiction combining the National Football League and Doug.
The story should use bondage as a plot device!

Generated by the Terrible Crossover Fanfiction Idea Generator

Do they mean the National Football League as in actual players? I suppose it wouldn't be the strangest thing ti ever have a fandom, crossing it with Doug though is totally bizarre.

I refreshed it a couple of times trying to get a BTTF one, but screw that...I got this highly amusing one though:

Your challenge is to write crossover fanfiction combining Silent Hill and Lord of the Rings.
The story should use legalizing gay marriage as a plot device!

"I don't think Gandalf meant for us to come this way, Frodo!" Well it looks as if Gandalf has been overthrown by a Senate majority, so feel free to express yourselves little Hobbits!

In other news, I was woken up this morning by my parents who were fussing over the skylight...or rather the lack of skylight. At some point during the night the skylight at the very top of the parental's house broke or blew away or something and rain came in and got all over my father's laptop! Cripes, I hope he didn't lose any important data, the laptop is covered by insurance, but you can't get data back when its gone.

Man, when is 20 to 1 on? I ask you, since when did starting times for programs become a relative term on commercial TV? They never used to pull this shit before and it certainly makes timer record harder to do.

Oh nuts, and I just realised it's not 20 to 1 time yet, it's 2 and a Half Men (you can see the dead look in Charlie Sheen's eyes!), whatever.

So I'm here at the parentals, but I only just got here a half hour ago, I had to come back to the apartment first to pick up my mobile phone charger also to collect mail etc. So I didn't have to bother my parents' for dinner which I'm sure they're all happy about.

Hmmm...I thought I had some chocolate, but it seems to have disappeared, how rude! Although I did find a Cherry Ripe in my bag today, I forgot I brought it last week, LOL, nice surprise there. :O)

In other news, I got my Tax File Number, but I still think the ATO is telling me I owe Tax, I am most disappointed! I've never had to pay extra tax before, well I suppose since I was on Unemployment for a while I can't complain, but as the Angry Video Game Nerd would say: "Son of an ass!"

Not much more to say, except tomorrow's gonna be busy as all Hell at work, everyone's going to be in because my co-worker is leaving to have her baby, so she has to go over everything before she does. Pray for Moose! (I better take notes!)

Anywho...Memes please. )

Man, I think I may have to buy eyedrops or start taking Clartyne or something because my eyes are seriously having a spazz.

Anywho, now 20 to 1 really is going to start soon and I've finally got the TV reception to work in here so I don't have to record it on the TV in my parents' room after all. Noice.

And that's all I have to say for now.

Goodnight to ye all!
