10:58pm: It's the Men's Archery Final and it's nail biting stuff!! It's gone to the Arrow-Off! That's where the two competitors have one arrow to fire at the target and the closest to the Bullseye will win! And in the last set both guys got a perfect round. Edge of your seat business!

Speaking of archery, an old schoolmate of mine saw a post I made on Facebook about being interested in it and mentioned that her father used to do archery and even went to the Olympics -

Ahmahgawd, the Korean Kim won the Arrow-Off and got the Gold! I was kinda going for the US guy, but dang the South Koreans absolutely slay at Archery. The US guy took his defeat well, he does get a silver though, so that's cool - also he's 35 which is pretty old for an Olympian!

Anyway, back to the schoolmate, she recommended I should go to the Sydney Olympic Archery Range to check out the sport, while I'm too lazy to go all that way I was reminded about the archery club that meets nearby, a quick internet search showed that they practice or get together on Saturdays and Sundays. So I decided to drive on down to check it out.

Unfortunately for me, my digestive system decided that this would be a great time to play up and I had a sore stomach and was too nervous to actually outright ask any of the archers how to take a lesson or whatever. Somewhat concerning I couldn't actually see the arrows they shot. Although maybe that's normal and why the coaches at the Olympic have those monocular things, so they can tell what's going down. Also there's the fact that one time I tried archery back at Year 6 Camp I failed so bad...first of all I could barely pull the string back, secondly I ended up letting go of the bow instead of the arrow.

On the other hand, I could use more physical activity, so I wrote an email to the Archery club to inquire about their Come and Try sessions, they mention them on their website, but I couldn't see any for the second half of the year. So we'll see what they say.

My stomach decided to spend the rest of the day being a dick, so I have got no writing on the McFly July 2024 prompts whatsoever, very discouraging. Although, it wasn't the usual kind of stomach pain so rather than try my Buscopan I took some ibuprofen - I did have a headache as well - I'm finally feeling not so ick just in time for bed.

In other news, LJ continues to not work for me unless I use my VPN and set it to a different country. Very odd...I wonder what the explanation is? I was connected to a Russian VPN (it's for ice skating related purposes) and it worked, but right now I'm on a USA VPN and it works, so yeah... Total head scratcher.

Right, better wrap this up and head to bed, it's back to work tomorrow for the first time in a week, bring it on! (Although I've got to take a half day on Friday for my Psychiatrist appointment, better let them know about that).

Goodnight!

6:49pm: It is a Moose!

Yes, yes, I know I said I was going to update more, but then I got both busy and lazy...

Anyway! I've just realised, horror of horrors that since my last update I've moved into my new apartment (the one I actually own 90/10 with my parents) and I haven't shown you guys any photos! (Although if you follow me on Facebook you've probably seen them)

This is a terrible oversight! Because the place is awesome and I'm super proud of it!

Now originally I took some panoramic shots, but either my phone isn't up to the task - or more likely my unsteady hands just made it look shitty, so I'll skip those and instead present...

My table area It's been nearly four years since I bought that table for this very occasion! (That is, a small space) it has two sides that can be folded down independently of each other, so as a general rule I just have this one side up, but if I have guests over I open the other side and seat up to four! (LOL, good thing I don't know a lot of people ;O)!)

The Wintergarden! Now I was under the impression that a Wintergarden was like an actual garden, so I wasn't expecting what's practically a second room! Out there I've got my old bed - which is now a day bed, my display cabinet, my bed box (that was suppose to fit next to my daybed, but Mum and I totally failed at measuring the width of the room and it juuust didn't fit, do'h!), my storage basket thing and (temporarily) my portable air conditioner - which I've been using despite the fact I had to keep one bank of windows prety much open to fit the outlet hose, but thankfully today the handyman came by with a perspex sheet he had made up to replace one of the glass louvers so now I can have it on without trying to cool the whole suburb.

My Kitchen! Check out the dishwasher! It's actually ridiculously big for one person, but the construction company must have got a huge discount for bulk buying. It sure washes well though! Also check out that sexy marble-like counter. I actually don't have as much stuff on the counters now, which makes my mother happy :OP

My pride and joy - the Water Dispensing Fridge! It's not plumbed in so I have to refill a tank, but it's still 100% than having to open the fridge every time I want water - which is often. Also my green toaster and kettle look very nice! You can also see the Pusheen Biscuit Jar there.

The entry and storage One of the most awesome things about the place is how much storage there is! There's a wardrobe and cupboard with shelves behind those mirrored door on one side and in the reflection you can see the bathroom door and another cupboard with frosted doors :OD And behind the white doors is the laundry...although there's quite a tale about getting the washing machine hooked up!

My new double bed! With my Pusheen doona cover! Love it! :OD The bed has four drawers underneath it providing yet more storage. I really should have enough space for everything...but those are fammous last words aren't they...

The COUCH, it's not actually as bright white as that photo suggestions, but still it's a risky choice, but it's so nice! Also I saved $100 on it because I got it through Gumtree because getting it new would have taken like two months. Of course, I was lucky that my mother's friend with her SUV was here so that she and Mum could pick it up, otherwise I probably wouldn't have been able to get it.

So there's a brief tour! I didn't take a photo of my credenza (where the TV is) because it's not very interesting since I haven't got my Siamese Fighting Fish yet.

I've got a fan above my bed now, it was just installed today and I've got it on now, rather than the air-con, it's doing a really good job I must say.

I've also got a side table for my couch along with an ottoman, that's very handy in that it's actually a double ottoman - there's a smaller one inside and the lid of the bigger can be turned over and it has a little tray on it, very handy for my plant.

Right, I'm cooking dinner at the moment so I better wrap this up and make sure my sausages aren't getting burnt!

Hope you enjoyed the apartment tour!

Ta-ta for now!

HOMEOWNER!

Sep. 24th, 2016 12:05 am
anonymoose_au: (Plushy Goes Eeeee!)
11:32pm: Or an apartment owner, at least...Sort of...

Yes, Mum got back to me and the solicitor had cleared the contract so she and I went to the place where the apartment building is going to be built to sign the contract. After looking over all the plans we decided to go for a studio two floors up from the third floor, because otherwise it would have been rather dark in there because of the slope of the land and position of the sun.

So yeah, super exciting! Although it's gonna be quite the wait, I can't remember now if the projected completion date is mid-2017 or mid-2018? I think it might be the latter, which rather sucks. But on the upside it'll give me heaps of time to save up lots of money to get a nice deposit. Plus I may have a full-time job or at least the equivalent hours for one.

Speaking of, once again I've left the updating a bit late...it's only five minutes until midnight! And I still haven't written a reply email to my big bro. But alas I don't have any news about the librarian position, which is beginning to worry me, but on the other hand, ten days is fast for a council...so maybe I shouldn't worry too much, plus there is the library assistant job still out there.

Aaand, it's past midnight now, do'h! And I totally need to get to sleep, and thus must be off. Oh well, this entry may be short, but it was exciting right? :O)

But for now, goodnight!

11:02pm: I do believe I have purchased - with my parents help, of course - an apartment! A studio apartment that won't be built for some time (projected finishing date is mid-2018) so it'll be quite a wait, but when it happens I'll have somewhere to live! OMG! So exciting!

Of course, it's not all set in concrete yet, because Mum wants our solicitor to look over the contract although she has put down the deposit. As it happens though, we might end up getting an apartment the next floor up because Mum's concerned that the slope of the land will result in my view being of a wall and since the apartment faces west there won't be a lot of sun, and that wouldn't be very nice. It's a bit of shame though because the apartment we put the deposit on today was 302, which is the inverse of the Newtown apartment (which is 203), but as I don't believe in numerology or whatever so I won't be deciding my life based on that. Although it would have been fun.

So, yes! Very exciting news! However, I still haven't heard from the library re: the job yet, but I don't think I should worry yet as they did say they'd get back to me in a week to ten days. But just in case, I've sent off another application for a full-time position as a library assistant, so even if something doesn't happen on that front there's a back up!

What else to report? Well, after the Religious class at school Mum came over to look over the Granny Flat, I'd done some more cleaning before I headed out, but the kitchen was still looking a bit sad, so Mum got out the sponge and Gumpton (a strong cleaning product) after having tea and got to scrubbing, especially the stove/oven. It's looking sparkling now, she took the stove tops off, and got me to put them in the dishwasher! I thought that was a bit nuts, but Mum was of the opinion that if my new dishwashing tablets were so amazing (and they are! I used one today before heading to the school - all the cutlery and dishes came out sparkling!), but everything didn't fit quite right in there so when I got home after the meeting with the real estate person it had stopped halfway through the cycle. It took me a while to figure out what was wrong, but I did and now everything looks nice.

Anywho, I better wrap this up because it's getting late and bed calls me, but before I go, there's more good news, I think my wrist is better again, it's certainly stopped twinging in general. We'll have to see when I next do weights at the gym. I'll keep you posted.

For now, goodnight!

11:16pm: Of the much anticipated M vs Moose Canasta Game! Alas M was not at her best today, which could partly explain my stunning victory. Still... Beggars can't be choosers. :OP

Grandpa made a delicious moussaka for dinner, yum cheesey! With broccoli and beans and for dessert we had watermelon. I also finished off the second chocolate bunny I swiped from Mum's stash. ;O)

Anyway, better be off now, the grandparents, or at least Grandpa wake up early and last time I was here I got woken up too, so I best keep on top of my zzzzs.

10:35pm: It always sneaks up on me, I swear! And I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to do tomorrow - the plan is to go over to my parents place, but I'm not sure what time that should be...I suppose the most efficient use of my time would be to go directly from Mrs S's. However, I've still got left-over lasagna to eat! I guess I could bring a piece over to eat...but I also need to bring my Christmas tree, two sets of clothes, my presents, wrapping paper, PJs and some decorations from C that belong to Mum which she needs back.

That's quite a lot of stuff! Not to mention the cupcakes - which I forgot to take again this morning, do'h! This means multiple trips to carry everything, but I generally don't give myself a lot of time in the mornings...

In which case perhaps it'd be better to come back? Ugh, decisions, decisions, I hate making decisions I suck at them!

I shall have to think about this longer...But I have super exciting news... I missed a call from the HR Department at Pittwater Council (why do they always call me before 11:30am? I tell them I'm at work), I called back but got their message bank, so left a message and while I was driving home they called! Worryingly, the lady on the other end couldn't hear me very well over the bluetooth, so I had to pull over and speak on the mobile.

BUT! To make a long story short...I GOT THE WEEKEND JOB AT MONA VALE LIBRARY!!

O...M...G! This makes the gift I received from my friend over in Britain very apt indeed! It's this badge. Heh, so cool huh?

However, I did have a bit of scare with the car, because as I pulled over, I managed to scrape the curb with my very nice sporty tyres! And when I got a closer look there was a small strip off rubber hanging off...there wasn't a hole or anything, but the little strip off rubber didn't look good.

I ended up asking Mum for advice when I called to tell her my news and she suggested that I go to the mechanic, the mechanic suggested I go to a tyre shop. So off I went to Bob Jane T-Mart where luckily I was told the tyre was intact and I didn't have to worry about blowouts or anything. Phew.

This at least got me out of the house and to the gym since I almost skipped going today which would have been a shame, because I do pay to be a member of that place, and should go at least twice a week.

And I better move this along because bed calls!

But here's a Meme or two )

OK, time to head off! Wish me luck tomorrow!

10:52pm: Who do I mean? Plushy! Just as I was about to go to bed last night I checked the ice skating forum I enjoy visiting to discover a post with that very information! My first thought was it must have been some BS or trolling or something, but it was also on Plushy's official forum.

Well, I was certainly shocked! I went to bed though figuring that there's be more information on the subject when I got up in the morning and indeed there was. There's quite a split of opinion of course, since Plushy is a dinosaur in figure skating years and he's had all those surgeries, but I say go for it and good luck! I've been watching all of Plushy's old programs on YouTube and he's fabulous, so if he gets out there next season (which starts in October) with new costumes and whatnot I'll be all over that.

An exciting time to be a Plushy fan ;O)

In other news, not much, I did my laundry and was smart enough to bring it in when I got home from church because there was a chance of rain - at least according to my phone app - and just an hour ago it really came down. So if I hadn't I'd have soaking wet clothes rather than just damp clothes.

I could have sworn I had something else to say, but I've forgotten what it was now. Oh well, let's just do some Memes then.

Unread

What proportion of the books you own are unread? Well I have bought quite a few new (second hand) books recently so it's probably at 10% now, but as a general rule if I have books I read 'em, otherwise why bother having them? :OD

1. If I was Prime Minster I’d change the hideous Border "Protection" policy, because it's fucked up.

2. I’d rather volunteer at a library some where than not (yeah didn't know how to answer this one!)

3. Seeing Plushy's old programs makes me happy.

4. Could you still live in a house after finding out a murder occurred there?

Interview

1. How well do you think you handle being interviewed for jobs? Shittily, lately I've been thinking my voice has been letting me down, it's so high-pitched! But...who knows.

2. In what other contexts have you been interviewed? Um...I can't think of any other contexts, I've never been interviewed for a magazine article or anything like that.

3. What are the strangest questions you’ve been asked in interviews? I was asked this question at that Mission Australia thing, but I couldn't think of one. In fact I could only think of strange questions I'd asked!

4. What are your greatest strengths on the job, and what are your greatest shortcomings? Oh, screw this question...OK, my greatest strengths is my enthusiasm, eagerness to learn and positivity. My greatest short-comings my distractabilty and tendency to get anxious.

5. When has a mistake at work resulted in something positive for you? Uh...gee...I don't think that's ever happened to me...

And...the internet has just died here :Oo Damn, that hasn't happened in forever...I hope it's the rain because I got a warning from my data measuring program that we're almost at 90% of usage for this month and there's still 9 days left.

So on that note, I shall wrap this up.

11:20pm: I better make this quick as I need to head to bed soon, anyway, the reason I'm only updating now is because at a quarter to ten this evening I got a call from Mrs S, there had been some unpleasantness and she needed me to come on over to help. She usually asks the other carer (I guess because she works in the afternoon's), but alas they weren't answering. Lucky for me I still have my parents car so I was able to get over there quite swiftly and render assistance.

Anyway it took about an hour, but I'm pleased to report I did a good job and I think everything is fine now. I was a bit concerned that my cupcake could have been responsible, but no she and her husband assured me it was delicious and they did eat it hours and hours ago. So that's a relief.

It's been a busy day indeed what with my decision to head off to the ice skating rink, in the car no less! I was worried it was a bad idea when I got into the parking lot and it looked almost full! I managed to find I spot though I was a few minutes late for the last hour. I'd forgotten about the flat rate thing and only had $16 in money, however, they've finally moved into the 21st century with an EFTPOS machine so I didn't have to waste time going to an ATM.

There's also some exciting news, I noticed it on the website when I was looking up times that a skating show was coming to the rink, but I didn't think too much of it, but the poster at the rink has more information. One of the skaters is the one who went to the Olympics men's skating event last year and he was also at Worlds just a few weeks ago! So I've decided I will go and see it next Thursday.

There was also more weirdness at the rink, but I better wrap this up and head off now, I was going to take the bus to work tomorrow, but I've been invited over to my uncle's place in the afternoon to play more Canasta with my cousin Mack and I'm also going to the library so I shall take the car. All the same if I'm going to get the necessary zzzz's I better be off!

11:40pm: Yes indeedy! Which is why I'm updating this so late, because I've been enjoying the fact I can surf the web now! Praise the Lord!

However, it was a bit touch and go, particularly when I got home from the gym and found that it didn't seem to be working, the people in the main house weren't home so I couldn't ask them about it and when they did, N said the new modem wasn't working right. This was especially sucky because I got an SMS on my phone this morning telling me that I'd reached my data limit with two days left in the month, fuuuck.

But yeah everything's back to normal now, which of course means I don't have much time to update this thing, whoops. Suffice to say it was a good day, looked quite rainy this morning, but the sun came out around midday and it was a lovely day. :O)

However, there was one down point, when I went to the bus stop to go to the gym there were some signs on the bench saying "Wet Paint", it didn't seem wet though and eventually someone else sat down and it seemed all right for them so I did too. Only to discover when I got to the gym there were a few streaks of paint on my shorts! Fuuuuck! It was also on my bag too! I tried getting it off with nail polish remover, which did work for my bag, but not the shorts which I also tried to wash. I mean the specks are definitely not as bad as they were before, but it's still noticable. Shit, I need those pants seriously, they fit so well!

And I'm tired...I was planning to go ice skating tomorrow morning, but my friends have invited me out for the afternoon so I dunno...I can't go skating on Sunday either, since I'm going to visit M and Grandpa. It's getting to be a long time between skating sessions for me.

I guess I'll have to figure something out. For now, though, good night!

11:09pm: So I finally got around to looking more closely into the nearest gym with a pool and the cost of membership seems comparable with my current membership at the North Sydney Leagues Club and there might even be a discount because I'm a student. So yeah, I decided I better get around to cancelling my membership, so I rang up the Leagues Club only to find that crap! You've got to give two weeks notice. I guess that's better than getting a $400 fee for breaking a 'contract' or whatever, but still...Looks like I have to go to Leagues Club gym until the end of the month. I won't be able to go in a sign the cancellation form until Friday, which actually makes it 6th September. Well, we'll see maybe I'll write off one week as an acceptable $16 loss.

Anything else to report? Nah, not really, although today's TAFE class was very involved, there always seems to be heaps to do on Wednesday's and heavy stuff too. We looked at some of the more difficult aspects of looking after older people and also at grief and berevement. So yeah, bit of a bummer that...

Good thing there's cute stuff to look at on Tumblr when I got home!

Oh, and I do have something to report, the new Create-a-Sim demo is fantastic! It's so easy to make your Simmies now. Unfortunately, it doesn't let you take pictures, or if they do I can't find them on my computer. That's the one issue with Sims games since 2, they stick the photos in the most incomprehensible locations with filenames that mean nothing. But I'm sure I'll have lots of piccies to post when I get the game next month. Ooo I may have to resurrect my Sims journal, on Dreamwidth because LJ's update page is just a disaster these days.

Aaand that pretty much sums up my day, I don't have to get to bed as early as usual because my volunteering has moved to the afternoon rather than the morning, and I'll be doing the Inter-Library Loan stuff, exciting! Still, I better not stay up too late, I didn't get to bed until a bit late last night and when I don't get enough zzzs things go downhill for me. :OP

So, I shall bid you all goodnight!

11:23pm: Exciting news from the academic front! I got what I'm certain is my last assignment (unless the Uni put their foot in it and there's something else I need to do - but there better not!) and my mark....

41/50!

OMG! I haven't got such a good mark on an assignment in ages!

Do you know what this means? It means...I have a Masters in Information Studies! OMG! I can now apply to all the jobs! (Note to self, must do that tomorrow!) I have to call the Uni tomorrow to see about getting my diploma and stuff. Eeee!

I'd like to thank the Academy for making this possible...

But no seriously, this is great! It's certainly capped off a pretty good day! Work went quickly - although a few times it was so busy I could barely keep up! - I made a delicious lasagna for dinner and I've been having fun this evening watching ice skating videos. Good times, good times.

The only downside to this day is the weird pain in my foot, it feels like I've stepped on a glass splinter again :O( I actually took my shoe off at the bus stop and looked hard, but I couldn't see anything. Hmmm, I guess if it's still sore tomorrow I'll go down to the doctors...again.

Also, I've just realised...I think the cleaning man is coming tomorrow...oh dear, I was supposed to vacuum the floor down here. I'll have to do it in the morning and also make sure the kitchen is relatively tidy after making the lasagna. Delicious, but can be messy!

Annnnnd, I should probably go, because I have nothing more to say, instead I shall revel in my (hopeful) success. Yaaaaay!

10:11pm: In my subject for the Masters degree, because I watched the Assignment 1 Feedback video the Tutor put up this evening and he mentioned that 'Monica' had done really well. Now unless everyone else failed hugely this clearly can't be a reference to me. I barely even passed! Not to mention the sentence at the end which started and finished with "Thiz". Talk about awkward! I'm still wondering if I should send an email to the lecturer about it, but it's kind of embarrassing to do so. The only other thing...apparently another a person marked my assignment, like the lecturer's assistant or something, maybe they disagreed? Maybe I will send an email...because I'm really confused.

Although if I went well in Assignment 1 that doesn't help me too much with this second one, I gotta be honest, I'm not even sure what the aim of this paper is! But it's a bit late to bring that up now.

In other news, the inspector in this crime doco has the name Tim Taylor, which is really distracting and I'm having trouble taking this seriously because I keep picturing Tim Allen (that's the guy in Home Improvement right?), it's really weird. What would be the odds of his superior being called Wilson, that'd be kind of hilarious.

Also...my new lunch bag and my lunchbox remain missing, I thought for sure they'd be handled into the lost property, but I called every bus depot that the bus I was on could possibly end up. Mum and Dad are quite convinced that because the lunch bag is brand new with the tags still on that someone else on the bus probably found it and took it. :O( I ended up making two 'Lost' signs for it, which I taped up at the bus stop near work and the other one at Neutral Bay.

I'm not all that hopeful though...so I searched around on the net and found the same lunchboxes available on E-Bay so I've put a bid in. I'm wining it right now, but seeing as I originally got the set for $10 I don't want to pay more than that for these ones. So here's hoping the bidding doesn't get too high and I stay in the lead! :O)

And I should be wrapping the entry up - I haven't been getting enough zzzs so sleep is needed.

But before that - the Memes! )

10:57pm: Well, kind of...it is a castle and is up for auction and alas the castle is used for commercial purposes, but there is a cottage you can live in behind it and in four years when the leases of the commercial tenants expire maybe you could move into the castle proper! In other news, this morning did not start well for me, I woke up with a sore throat and a stuffed nose. Horror of horrors I feared a cold was developing! 9:37pm: Indeed, right now I'm watching a program about transgendered people and those who have had gender reassignment surgery (if that's the right term? I hope so!). I find this intriguing mainly because when I was young I often thought I didn't want to be a girl, but at the same time I didn't want to be a boy either, LOL. This was before I went through puberty though...so I guess having female bits wasn't terrifying or emotionally disturbing to me. Although I will say since I developed so quickly I'm the boob area I worried that I'd end up being absolutely enormous! Thankfully that didn't happen!

Speaking of GLTB issues exciting news from the Australian Capital Terrority, which today has voted to allow gay marriage! Yay! Although it looks like the Federal Government is going to mount a challenge based on the fact that marriage law is more a federal rather than state-by-state issue and we are under a Conservative Government now, ick, although the last Labor Government didn't do much in that department either, sigh.

In further news, Pope Francis continue to impress by making sensible statements about not being so rigid over church laws and whatnot. Man, I love this guy, he rocks. Long may he reign!

Anything else to report? Not really, I think I may have been overreacting a bit re: the desk move, although it hasn't happened yet. I think I did good work today, go me!

And now I should be off because I have to wax my legs before I go to bed. Hmpf, lasts three weeks my butt.

Well, goodnight all!

10:32pm: Although I did have to go up to the local hardware shop here in Newtown with the actually flushing part of the toilet because the washer I got didn't fit, do'h! As a matter of fact I found out from the handyman at the shop that the company that made my toilet no longer exists which explains why looking up what washer I needed to get on Google wasn't getting me any results. But! Fortunately the handyman found a washer that fit it, hooray!

However, the drama wasn't over yet, I went to pay for the washer ($6) only to discover...I'd left my wallet back at the apartment! Well, son of a bitch, so I had to leave the toilet flushing bit there while I headed back, got the wallet (it must have fallen out of my bag when I took out my orthodics).

But it all worked out and now there is blessed sound of silence from the bathroom, no more running water! Praise the Lord! Although it'll be quite a while until I see if it makes all that much difference to my water bill. Since it seems to be based on water usage for the whole building, I'm not sure how that works out.

Now I must remember to call Grandpa and tell him this exciting news, hopefully he'll be proud to hear about my success :O) the grandparents often mention that I act way too immature for my age, so this should look good...I hope.

In other news I also have a new convection microwave oven! It's from Aldi and therefore very well priced and most shiny! The parental units came with me after we all went to the gym, to swap the old microwave oven with it. I mostly passed the clean apartment test, except for the fridge, which we all had to clean it out, although it mostly ended up being Dad because he has the magic cleaning touch.

Ah, the apartment kitchen is looking good indeed. Plus I washed my sheets so they're all nice and fresh, which is good because I have to go to bed soon. I just have to make it!

Before I do that, Meme time! )

Right, best be off, though I did manage to make my bed during an add in Homes Under the Hammer, but that's over so to bed I go!

Goodnight all!

10:54pm: Can we all say 'eeeeeee!' Well I will, often and vocally! :O)

However, in amongst this good news is some very bad news :O( I seem to have left my bus tickets in their little purple sleeve on the bus! $20 or more worth! I don't rate my chances of ever seeing them again and I won't even get a change to find out until Tuesday because Monday is a public holiday and the Lost Property department isn't open on weekends. :O( Bah!

Today is also the start of daylight savings, or rather tomorrow morning at 2 is, I'm quite looking forward to it because, yay! Daylight! We do still loose an hour, but what can you do I guess?

This evening I went over to my friend's apartment and another friend joined us so we could watch Doctor Who, it's the second last episode of the series and it was a good watch. Then we attempted to watch the Doctor Who movie, because my other friend hadn't seen it, but Daylight Saving day always makes one feel like it's later than it is, and said friend kept falling asleep so we called it a night..

And, I didn't do much of my assignment at all...whoops. I have to get onto that, damnit.

Right, meme time!

Saturday 9

:Sleeping to Dream:

1. Do you ever go to sleep to simply dream? No, because unless I'm sick, I can't nap without feeling like a pile of crap and if I am sick I'm not in a very creative mood so it's moot.

2. When you’re having trouble staying awake, what are some things you do to make sure you don’t drift off to sleep? Usually I just sort of slap my own cheeks or eat a chocolate or something. A surprisingly good way to stay awake is do that almost fall asleep thing and then jerk awake again. Wakes you right up again, at least for a while.

3. What’s most likely to cause you a prolonged period of not enough sleep? Reading stuff online, damn you fanfiction! Shakes fist. :OP Or a good TV show.

4. When you’re going through a prolonged period of not enough sleep, what parts of your daily routine are likely to change, and how? Well, basically my brain will go to shit, so my lack of sleep doesn't last for all that long because I simply can't function. They'll be a complete lack of proper thinking going on.

5. In what ways does your personality change when you go through a prolonged period of not enough sleep? See above, basically I become a zombie and even more distractiable than I all ready am!

6. Who in your life seems regularly to have not enough sleep? Well, my father often seems to be lacking in sleep, although since he's had his back op he's doing way better so that's good know. Otherwise, some of my poor internet friends. Off to bed with you all at a reasonable hour. :OP

7. When your sleeping, do your closer friends tend to be male or female? Why do you think that is? Huh, I don't understand the question. Do you mean when I'm dreaming or something? 'Cause I don't know, never really thought about it.

8. If you could wake up tomorrow with a new talent, what would it be? Ooo, I would love to be able to speak Japanese, that'd be all sorts of cool!

9. In a dream, is your past something that you can go back to? Sometimes, I can't make it happen, but sometimes it does.

Well the other Meme isn't up yet, so I guess I'll wrap it up here. I've just realised it's technically 12am so I better turn in! I don't want to oversleep tomorrow for a variety of reasons! :O)

Goodnight all!
