Toilet Triumph!

10:32pm: Although I did have to go up to the local hardware shop here in Newtown with the actually flushing part of the toilet because the washer I got didn't fit, do'h! As a matter of fact I found out from the handyman at the shop that the company that made my toilet no longer exists which explains why looking up what washer I needed to get on Google wasn't getting me any results. But! Fortunately the handyman found a washer that fit it, hooray!
However, the drama wasn't over yet, I went to pay for the washer ($6) only to discover...I'd left my wallet back at the apartment! Well, son of a bitch, so I had to leave the toilet flushing bit there while I headed back, got the wallet (it must have fallen out of my bag when I took out my orthodics).
But it all worked out and now there is blessed sound of silence from the bathroom, no more running water! Praise the Lord! Although it'll be quite a while until I see if it makes all that much difference to my water bill. Since it seems to be based on water usage for the whole building, I'm not sure how that works out.
Now I must remember to call Grandpa and tell him this exciting news, hopefully he'll be proud to hear about my success :O) the grandparents often mention that I act way too immature for my age, so this should look good...I hope.
In other news I also have a new convection microwave oven! It's from Aldi and therefore very well priced and most shiny! The parental units came with me after we all went to the gym, to swap the old microwave oven with it. I mostly passed the clean apartment test, except for the fridge, which we all had to clean it out, although it mostly ended up being Dad because he has the magic cleaning touch.
Ah, the apartment kitchen is looking good indeed. Plus I washed my sheets so they're all nice and fresh, which is good because I have to go to bed soon. I just have to make it!
The Saturday Six
1. Which store is your favorite place to buy the most of your groceries? Hmmm, it's a bit of a contest between Aldi and my local IGA. Aldi is full of fabulous bargains, I love bargains :O)
2. Does that store offer some sort of discount card and, if so, do you have one? Aldi? I don't think so, but as I said, it's full of great prices. As for IGA, indeed there is and I do have one. Haven't cashed anything in, though. You do get extra discounts with it, so it's pretty handy.
3. What’s the number one reason this grocery store happens to be your favorite? Aldi? Like I said, bargains, whoo! IGA because it's the closet supermarket to where I live.
4. Do you wipe off your shopping cart with one of those sanitizing wipes stores now place next to the carts, or do you secretly snigger at those who do? Don't buy enough to actually need a shopping trolley, I do use baskets though and now I don't use sanitary wipes I so make sure to wash my hands thoroughly when I get home.
5. Do you prefer paper, plastic or reusable cloth bags? Reusable, although they're not always cloth ones. I often take some old plastic bags since there easier to screw up in a small ball and fit thrm into the bag I usually carry about.
6. Which section of the store (i.e., frozen, produce, meat etc) do you buy most often from? Hmmm, well it's all pretty even. Although sometimes I go a bit nuts in the chip and biscuit and/or sweet aisle. Damn them and their yuminess!
Sunday Stealing
:My Random Randomness Meme, part 3:
1) What room are you in? I have a studio apartment and thus am in the main room.
2) Can you solve a rubix cube? Pft, fuck no. I have a friend who can apparently! Without peeling the stickers off, LOL
3) Are you psychic in any way? I sincerely doubt it. I did have a prophetic dream of sorts once. But eh, it didn't give me any great insights or anything.
4) What star sign are you? Capricorn and I be the least Capricorn-y person ever.
5) What's your favorite color? Green! Whoo!
6) What's your lucky number? I think it's supposed to be 5, but I prefer 6 or 8.
7) Do you have any chores that should be done now? Gottmake the bed.
8) Did you have a cherished childhood teddy bear or other toy? I do! The Garfield toy I got during the family trip around the world. Man, he's 20 years old now. Ugh, I feel old.
9) What was the last thing you bought from a vending machine? Man...it's been ages. I think it was a packet of Twisties or something.
10) What shoe size are you? Either 5.5 to 7. It depends on the shoe and if I'm wearing orthodics with them.
11) How many pairs of shoes do you own? Hmmm...Quite a few actually! Let's see...16 pairs I think.
12) If you were prime minister/ruler of the world what laws would you make? Renewalable energy stations set up throughout the world! Also clean water initiatives and laws to have proper payment given to farmers for their produce etc.
13) If you were a super hero what powers would you have? Hmmm, Teleportation and telekensis would be most helpful I think!
14) and what would your hero name be? Haha I once made up a superhero name for myself after a newsagency I worked in for like a week. Supanews! I like it!
15) and what outfit would you wear? Something green! Maybe like Rogue from the X-Men, she had some kickass outfit for a time.
16) What was your last dream about? Gee, I can't remember now... It might have been something to do with houses for some reason.
17) What would you do if you won the lottery? Buy the apartment, pay off my parents' mortgage, donate to clean water charities and save the rest.
18) Would you like to build/design your own house? Design it, maybe, but definitely not build it with my own two hands!
19) Which form of public transport do you prefer? Well, I used to love trains, but now I've gone off them so...buses.
21) Can you juggle? As someone who can rarely catch a ball, Hell no!
