10:33pm: Yessir! I headed out to Macquarie Shopping Centre this afternoon - so I could get to the hospital and deliver Dad's stuff to him - and got on the ice rink for the last hour discount, whoo! But gawd man are those neon orange skates such an eyesore! Although I'm really glad I brought along my thick socks because by the end of the hour it my right inner ankle was starting to get a blister on it. Which I guess isn't a surprise since my feet roll in so much - that's why I have orthodics, but you can't wear orthodics with skates.

But yeah! Lots of fun was had, I can't skate backwards at all these days, but I can do figure 8s LOL. Plus I didn't fall over! I do pride myself on not falling over when I skate, although I did run into the wall at one point trying to avoid someone.

Also, there were a lot of skaters with their own skates there, I wonder if that's the usual thing, or if kids were inspired by the Winter Olympics? There were some an ice dancers - at least they were doing twizzles! And thankfully hardly any speed skating wannabes, they used to be a bit of an issue last time I went.

At 5pm I headed off for the hospital and from the observation windows I saw the Zamboni out and about! I took a piccie but it's on my mobile downstairs, I'll show you it all tomorrow - I'm sure you all can't wait! ;O)

So on my way to the hospital I got a call from Mum, Dad's surgery had been delayed, and he was still in it at 4:30pm. When I got there it was closer to 5:30, but nope he was still there apparently. Mum though insisted I should stay there until he came out of recovery rather than just leave the stuff he asked for and to buy him a sandwich because he'd miss dinner.

So I did - along with one for myself - and waited for another half an hour doing a crossword puzzle before going back to the reception area where I had to wait for some time behind some people checking in only to be told Dad was still in recovery, but I could go up to his room at least and wait.

So yeah, I did that for another ten minutes and finally he was brought back in, unfortunately for me, he had only just come out of the anesthetic and was quite nauseous. I kind of felt like an ass but yeah...when he reached for the barf bag (they gave him a barf bag, what happened to those kidney shaped bowls?) I fled the room!

Although, I have to say, I'm a bit proud of myself, because only a few years ago I totally would have lost my shit, especially since I could actually hear him getting ill from the hallway. But I managed to keep calm, although I wasn't going to stick around, because let's not tempt fate! Plus, Dad really was out of it. I tried to call Mum, but alas as it turned out I'd misunderstood her plans for the day and as I found out I called her in church and she hadn't turned her mobile off! Yikes, good thing she doesn't have an embarrassing ring tone like I do!

So I said goodnight to Dad, who at least seemed to know I was there and told the nurses about his sandwich - which I'd put in the little fridge conveniently placed in the room and off I went.

I'd ended up missing the bus I was planning to take, but I got one to Chatswood, which didn't end up being that much out of my way, I ended up catching the same second bus (albeit from the start of its route rather than near the middle), but hey, I got home before Mum!

Mum kindly bought honey chicken and rice for dinner and the Chinese restaurant included fortune cookies! I am impressed! Mine told me to take advantage of a new opportunity that's coming up. Hmmm, a job perhaps? :O)

And of course, I delivered the light bulbs and picked up the mail too, which included my complete Masters degree transcript! Sweeeet! Gonna stick that in my resume. Still not sure what to do about graduation though...will have to think about this.

Phew! Look at that, a detailed entry! I'm impressed with myself. The one thing I didn't manage...was getting cheese cubes from Aldi, boo! Well there's always tomorrow...

For now though, I shall be off!

11:23pm: Exciting news from the academic front! I got what I'm certain is my last assignment (unless the Uni put their foot in it and there's something else I need to do - but there better not!) and my mark....

41/50!

OMG! I haven't got such a good mark on an assignment in ages!

Do you know what this means? It means...I have a Masters in Information Studies! OMG! I can now apply to all the jobs! (Note to self, must do that tomorrow!) I have to call the Uni tomorrow to see about getting my diploma and stuff. Eeee!

I'd like to thank the Academy for making this possible...

But no seriously, this is great! It's certainly capped off a pretty good day! Work went quickly - although a few times it was so busy I could barely keep up! - I made a delicious lasagna for dinner and I've been having fun this evening watching ice skating videos. Good times, good times.

The only downside to this day is the weird pain in my foot, it feels like I've stepped on a glass splinter again :O( I actually took my shoe off at the bus stop and looked hard, but I couldn't see anything. Hmmm, I guess if it's still sore tomorrow I'll go down to the doctors...again.

Also, I've just realised...I think the cleaning man is coming tomorrow...oh dear, I was supposed to vacuum the floor down here. I'll have to do it in the morning and also make sure the kitchen is relatively tidy after making the lasagna. Delicious, but can be messy!

Annnnnd, I should probably go, because I have nothing more to say, instead I shall revel in my (hopeful) success. Yaaaaay!

7:01pm: Early in the day that is.

Anyway first the bad news, I heard back from the Jewish school, sadly I did not get the job although apparently the Head of the Primary School enjoyed meeting with me. Do'h! I tell you I just don't interview well! Which is a huge problem when one doesn't have enough work.

With that in mind I decided that I better get onto applying for Newstart Allowance, but because Centrelink is a bitch I couldn't do it online! Apparently the page wasn't available, although it seems I should have tried opening it on a few other browsers because after trying to call them up on the phone and finding out the wait time was going to be over 45 minutes I decided I best go to the Centrelink Office. Where I was told to call a number from one of the onsite phones, this was irritating, but I figured it would be an internal line and therefore I'd get on to someone faster. I don't know about that, I certainly had to listen to that Godawful Muzak for far too long. Then when I finally got on to someone I found I had to make a phone appointment and the next one isn't until 2nd January. Well, shit.

Hmpf, so after that I went to the Aldi in Liechhardt to get more cheese cubes and some butter to make frosting for my mini-cupcakes. I also got some paper towel and hoped to get some super sized tomato and BBQ sauce for the Christmas Tree at the RSL club for the Rural Fire Service volunteers, but to my surprise Aldi didn't have the super-sized ones, I'll have to go to Coles.

I made the frosting, but er...for reasons unknown, I decided to make the full amount of the online recipe - probably because Mum mentioned a lack of it as a reason she didn't like my cupcakes so much - it came out delicious, but in a huge amount. Fortunately the internet tells me you can freeze butter cream frosting so most of it has gone on the freezer. I'm sure it'll be useful.

In other news I have concerns, this morning I lost a pen down the side of my bed-couch, so I had to lift it up into it's bunk-bed configuration so I could get to it. In doing so, not only did I face a mighty struggle to get it back down, I discovered that the middle slat of the bed I sleep on is almost cracked right through! Well, shit, what am I supposed to do with that? I have no money to replace it, although the internet suggests I should move it to the foot end of the bed. I don't really want to open up the bed again, but maybe I won't have to. I'll check it out after I finish this.

I'm also worried about my big New York Cityscape lamp, yesterday I managed to knock the lampshade and light fixture bit clean off when moving my couch pillows. I managed to screw the light bit back in and it still works, but the lampshade is all askew now, not very attractive, I wonder if there's a wpay to straighten it?

9:47pm: Yes indeed, I regret to report I didn't even go to the gym today! I blame the fact I went to bed late, but I woke up early, for a rather embarrassing reason. Somehow I managed to fall asleep on my hands, so they fell asleep and I woke up in no small amount of discomfort and by the time I got them to wake up again it was a bit too late to back to sleep. Hmpf.

Anyway! So like I said a rather lazy day for me, I'm still going to the gym three times a week, so I think I'm pretty good. I meant to use this day constructively, talking to my Northern hemisphere friends and doing some Uni work, but alas that didn't happen, the latter because I'm a lazy ass (LOL) the sooner because my Northern hemisphere friends were having too much fun in real life :OP

Ah well, what can you do?

So yeah, I have to get onto the Uni work, it's the one about library services around the world and I don't know if I mentioned this, but I'm doing Egypt, which I'm sure will be interesting once I get my ass into gear.

But yeah, probably won't happen tonight, maybe tomorrow morning because I start work and hour later now, so I should have time do some stuff and maybe the light of day will get me concentrating!

10:14pm: So I joined this website called Good Reads to keep track of my reading and I've really been slacking as of late, since I've been reading the book I'm currently on for 64 days! Geeze, that's Dad speed right there, LOL. I should move it along a bit, so many fabulous books, so little time.

In other news I've just received an email back from my tutor regarding the subject I failed. Doesn't look like there's any way for me to get my money back, instead I have to decide if I'm going to retake the subject or find something else. Hmmm, decisions, decisions. And Mum's not here to help me figure out stuff! I guess I'll have to ask Dad instead.

Moving along, I'm watching Air Crash Investigation and it's one I haven't seen before! Depending on how it ends, I recommend avoiding Sao Palo, Brazil's airport seems it has a deadly runway.

The worst runway I've ever been on was at the old Hong Kong Airport, it stuck out into the sea so water was on either side of runway strip! It was seriously freaky. Of course that airport doesn't exist anymore, so you don't have to worry about that one.

And I went to the gym over in North Sydney after work today before coming on home to the apartment. It went quite well, except I may have to forgo the proper shower after my swim until I get home because I managed to miss the bus I should have taken. As a result I ended up buying a personal sized Hawaiian pizza from the pizza cafe, it was only 8 bucks and very delicious! Although it totally undid all my good work at the gym itself, LOL.

And at the moment I'm doing laundry and the washing up because I'm all adult and stuff :OP and there's not much else to report.

So on that note I shall be off!

11:15pm: As previously mentioned I'm moving towards geting my Masters by completing three more subjects online. I'm currently doing two of them now and I've unsurprisingly been sitting on my hands with it and now I have two assignments due in two weeks that I haven't even started yet. And once again, they're proving to be difficult. I should take myself to a library or something, I don't seem to study well outside of the school environment, so many distractions you see! I'll definitely need to try that out.

Right now for example I'm distracted by the house program we like to watch here at the parentals, and once again I'm struck speechless by the British idea of interior design, at least in the 70s. I mean God damn, the flowered wallpaper, the flowered carpet, the flowered curtains! All different patterns! It's like they were on LSD when they decorated. Maybe they were, LOL.

What are your best and worst neighbor stories?

I'm not actually sure I have any good neighbour stories, the family in general keep ourselves to ourselves. But I do have a bad neighbour story! When I was growing up in Dubbo I sometimes hung out with the girl next door, but for some reason my father didn't get on with her father and at one point and for some reason there was a confrontation with threats of a shotgun been brought out! O.o Fortunately, it didn't come to that, but as you can imagine I didn't hang out with the girl after that. Yikes.

1. What caused the oldest scar you have on your body? I have a scar from an operation I had for a twisted stomach when I was just a baby (younger than a year). They didn't have keyhole surgery back then, so it's quite a long scar and very visible indeed.

10:05pm: I totally had one in mind, but now it's gone out of my head.

Good news! I got my assignment marks back and I've passed by a hair! :OD This means that I now have a Graduate Diploma in Information Studies. Holy shi, go me! I can join ALIA now! And apply to all those jobs that ask for an ALIA qualification.

Yay!

What else to report...nothing much except I've decided to get a little netbook since they're going for rather good prices at the moment and the one I'm using that my Dad owns is really slow. It's quite irritating.

Yes! Because I work at a newsagency and without the paper I'd be out of my job! Shit man. Plus having stuff in print form is always better, I heard a report that said reading stuff printed down makes it easier to remember and learn.

It's been a very educational day! I had a tour of the library, learnt how to work on the circulations desk, and learnt a bit about collection management and acquistions. Tomorrow I'm going to help with the author booktalk they're having.

All in all, great fun!

In other news, I found my missing plastic box, it was in the carport of my parents house. I couldn't find the VCR remote, but at least I know the box is safe. I'll have to wait two weeks until my mother can bring it over though, bummer.

10:50pm: I don't know what it is with library studies, I mean I love working in a library, but getting this diploma is the biggest pain in the arse. The first assessment is due in two weeks and it looks like it's going to be a drudge.

Sigh! I mustn't get too down on it, I'll just have to do the best I can on it, after all, I have $900 riding on this subject. That's an amount of money I'm not prepared to lose!

Not much else to report, except my right elbow hurts I'm not sure what that's all about, especially as I use the mouse with my left hand, I better be careful.

10:42pm: For my uni course! I keep trying to read the readings but I get distracted and the next thing I know it's time for bed and I haven't even read it. Why do academics write in such a boring manner, it's really very annoying.

Not much to report about today, went to Church as it was Dad's turn to do the music and Mum came to help with the singing, I had to do the Powerpoint. Good times.

It was ridiculously humid today as well! I went out to buy some bread for lunch and by the time I got home...phew! Thank God for airconditioning!
