10:22pm: After a very good night's sleep (Monday didn't go as well because both Mum and her friend both snore and we were sharing a room, LOL) it was full speed ahead for the first full day in Fiji.

We started off with breakfast, which is included in our stay. It's meant to be a Tropical breakfast, but the hotel lets you have other breakfast stuff as long as it adds up to the same amount, so Mum and I shared a plate of eggs on toast, hash brown, breakfast sausage and bacon. I didn't want bacon and Mum didn't want the bacon, so we swapped those and that was good eatin'!

Then we headed off into the nearest town in the hope of buying a few things, like cheese and maybe a souvineer, there's this really cool clock at the hotel reception here, I have seen such ones before, where all the numbers have are at the bottom of the clock like they've fallen there and "Who cares?" written on it. Considering my chronic lateness this would be very handy indeed! As it happens I couldn't find said clock, but it's not really a Fiji-centric souvineer, you can buy those online (although the one here at the hotel has "Fiji Time" or something written on it), so I ended up getting a t-shirt with a turtle and Fiji written on it. Nice.

I also got my cheese! And there was a fabric shop where I found some embroidery thread, I'm working on a new Pusheen cross-stitch - tropical themed :O) We also went to the vegetable market, where we got carrots, there was also some very interestingly shaped bananas there too. Mum's friend bought a really short fat one LOL, we're going to eat it on Thursday - it's still green at present.

I did have a bit of a scare when I didn't notice a step down and my right foot landed quite heavily, but fortunately, it's OK.

Oh and we also bought a big bag of Twisties and since we had a big and late breakfast I didn't have much for lunch back at our hotel, just some of those and a carrot LOL.

After that we went to the beach just across from the hotel, which is just for hotel guests (although, there's nothing really stopping anyone from just going there, but I think people are generally honest) where we sat on beach chairs. Mum also got us some reef shoes - the hotel is on the Coral Coast of Fiji, which means there's a big coral reef on the beach that extends out for what has to be about a kilometre. So if you want to go into the water you need these reef shoes so you don't cut your foot on coral. Mum and I went into the water for a bit, but the tide was going out, so it wasn't quite deep enough to swim, we'll try again tomorrow. (Good news for me, that time o' the month is finally over!)

Then finally, the big event of the day, dinner at the fancy hotel with a Cultural Show of Fijian music and dancing. It was a most delicious dinner, a buffet! :O) And the Cultural show was really interesting too although I had trouble making out the explanations the host gave, so I was bit lost as to what was going down LOL.

The only downside of the evening was that the seat of my chair was loose, which I didn't notice until I went to pull it in closed to the table, a which point I got one of my fingers caught between the seat and the frame and that hurt like an absolute bitch! I'm pretty sure I'm going to end up with a bruise under my nail after that, ouch.

In other news, I got the 11th prompt of McFly July done and posted, but I didn't write any on others, there was quite a bit of downtime today but I was working on my embroidery instead. Ah well, you can only do your best.

Anywho, it's coming up to 11pm, so I should probably head off and do my Duolingo before my mother and her friend decide to head to bed.

Goodnight!

11:04pm: I was hoping I could say that about the purple shirt, but alas I've run out of time and doing the buttons is a time consuming process, especially since I can't get the automatic button hole maker thing to work.

But! I did manage to get everything I needed to do re: the gym, volunteering at the library, food shopping and getting my medication from the pharmacy. The only thing I didn't really get done was picking up the letter because my ex-land lady was running late today and hurried off to work with the letter still in her handbag! Luckily there was another letter at the house to be picked up because otherwise that would have been most irritating, although at least not out of my way because of the pharmacy.

I did end up being at the library later than planned because when I arrived I couldn't find any parking spots in the council carpark. So I went and did my food shopping since I didn't need to get anything that had to remain super cold so I left it in the car.

Anyway, tomorrow is also set to be a full day what with the pyschiatrist appointment and (hopefully) ice skating, but I hope to be able to get everything done. Including the purple shirt! :OD

And, look at the time! It does slip away doesn't it?

Hmm, I feel like this entry is a lot longer than it actually is, LOL! But we'll have to take it as it is so I can get myself to bed. Can't skimp on the zzzs!

Goodnight all!

11:27pm: To Mrs S who's off on her two month holiday tomorrow and thus begins my time of monetary shortage unless the libraries decide to help me out.

On the upside I spoke to the Financial officer at my gym and she managed to cut down my waiting period to stop payment from the ten weeks (seriously, what's with that?) to just four, after I explained my financial issues. So thank goodness for that!

In other news, I got wildly excited just before going to bed last night when I was just randomly looking through properties on the Domain app and saw an apartment with a parking spot a few suburbs away that was listed at only $356,000 to $370,000 a bargain in these parts! And obviously much more affordable then the other place. Alas when I called up to ask about it, I discovered that it's just about to be bought by someone for $360,000 and the owners only put it up to see f they could get a better offer. Which seems rather shitty, I mean imagine getting undercut at the last minute! That'd be some bullshit...

Anyway, it's all kind of moot anyway, because with my current income I can only afford to get at $200,000 loan, which will buy me something...on the Central Coast. Evidently more saving will need to be done so I can put down a better deposit. Or wait for this influx of apartments to bring the market down. :OP

Anyway, I've managed to get myself distracted and hence I've got to make this quick, I got caught up reading Cracked articles. Incidentally, they've changed the website for no apparent reason and now you can't read the comments anymore! Bloody rude.

What else to report, well tomorrow is going to be a busy day, I'm not sure if the Pittwater Council BBQ will still be happening, I'll have to ring about that. And it's going to be difficult to get to the Dee Why Volunteer afternoon tea and get to the school to help my mother with the SRE.

Right...I better head off now...I want to keep getting up at the same time even while Mrs S is away because I don't want to end up creating bad habits.

Before I do though! Here's a photo of the adorable PJs I bought at K-Mart today...to recycle an old pun...they're a hoot!

So, as I continue to fall behind on the Memes I bid you all adieu!

Goodnight all!

anonymoose_au: (Merry Christmas!)
11:29pm:Yes indeed! And I'm just finishing the last of my wrapping right now. Man, do I ever cut these things close! Plus I have to get my clothes out of the washing machine so the dress I'm going to wear tomorrow will be ready...

Actuall, I went and did all that just then so now it's 15 minutes later and I haven't mentioned much of anything...

But it was a choc-o-block day! Complete with a resume drop off, IBS Support medicine buying, bus catching and church bru-ha-ha. I don't know what to do about the latter, despite my advanced warning Mum's friend at church still expected me to come and do the PowerPoint there and then rush to the church where Dad would be playing. Seriously, what the Hell? So I told her I couldn't which caused quite a few problems especially when Mum came home and told me that she had told her friend that was exactly what was supposed to happen! Apparently, she'd discussed this with her friend but foegotton to mention it to me! Seriously!

In the end Mum got on the phone with her friend and told her I wasn't going to be showing up but that set off a whole lot of problems and guilty feelings on my side, so in the end I decided to go and do it because otherwise Mum was going to have to and when I got there, first of all the two people who greeted me said they thought I wasn't going to be coming to their church at all anymore! Then I found out they'd managed to find two young people to so the PowerPoint.

Sigh! But there's the crux of the matter, I like to do PowerPoint, I like that church, but I don't like how I'm expected to always show up and if I can't somehow find someone to take my place seemingly out of thin air! I mean I'm not even part of that Parish! I don't have access to these people. It's bloody annoying and I think unfair that I have to either commit to every single week no matter what or give up doing it all together.

Anyway, the long and short of if is I'm meant to talk to the Parish Priest about the situation, which I'd perfer not to do, but Mum insists. Hmpf.

Any who! I do have happier things to report, but that'll have to wait until tomorrow. For now though, a Merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnight!

10:30pm: Although...it's not really coming out the way I imagined....ah well, what can you do? Hopefully I'll look semi-decent, I do want to wear this in public.

I may have to redo the skirt, there was a huge cock-up when I was following the instructions for a circle skirt, so now instead of having something with no seams I have two. Bum, but I'm per serving because I don't want to spend too much on this costume,

In other news, I'm very worried, I think I left my black furry scarf on the bus yesterday! :O( I can't find it anywhere in the apartment! This is awful! I'all have to call the bus depot to see if it's been turned in, if not I do have one option to get a new one, but it'll cost me $40, more money I really shouldn't spend.

Boo. And I've been doing so well with keeping my possessions lately, bah humbug!

I'm also having trouble getting to work on time, but this morning wasn't my fault, somehow the bus driver completely missed my stop! And by stop I don't mean some little out of the way place, I mean Wynyard Station! Seriously! How does a driver do that? Needlessly to say by the time I got to my stop the two buses I can catch were driving away! Suffice to say I ended up been fifteen minutes late again, do'h! This better not happen tomorrow damn it.

Any who, I'm working on the dress right now, so I best Meme and go!

Booking Through Thursday

Ideal

I want you to think about your ideal reading experience. Think about the location. (Your bed? Favorite chair? The beach? Indoors or outdoors?). Think about the sounds. (Is there music playing? Happy children playing in the background? Utter silence?) Is there a snack or beverage nearby? Are you alone or with friends/family (presumably being quiet enough for you to read in peace)? What kind of lighting is there? Are you dressed in something ultra-comfy? What’s your position? Curled up? Stretched out? Now … describe it so that we can all feel exactly how perfect it is … and why.

Hmmm, it'd probably be in a library in a comfy chair with lots of sunlight and a quiet atmosphere. I'd be wearing loose clothing and have some nice icy cool water nearby.
As for why? Well, what sounds better than that? :O) Besides reading is always easier when it's quiet and the light is good.

Right! And now off I go to work on the skirt some more, wish me luck!

Goodnight all!

11:06pm: Yes, indeed! That's how I spent my day today! Helping my friend move, which was quite the process, we really should have hired professionals, or at least burly people to do all the carrying. Phew! By the end of it, I couldn't be bother to go swimming, which was a shame.

Later on, Zep came over and we had Nando's chicken for dinner, good eatin'!

Really musthang out with the friends more.

Anywho! Here's the Memes: )

Righto, better head to bed now, but I've got to put the dog out and maybe get some cheese, LOL.
