10:53pm: On the couch here in the flat, basically I've been sort of leaning on my right arm while having the laptop resting on the right arm of the couch. Looking at this in hindsight I should have seen that this would quite possibly result in a painful shoulder from putting all my weight on it. So now it is sore, boo. Oh well now I know better than do that again.

In other news, I went to the library for my volunteering today and it was great! The Inter-Library Loans lady is really nice and wants to help me get the sort of experience that will look good on my resume. Plus, you know, I love this kind of work. I'm going in tomorrow too before I have to go to the doctor about vaccinations and then onto the gym to cancel my membership before I head back here to the flat. Phew! Sounds like quite a day to be sure.

Hmmm, not much else to say, although I played along with Jeopardy tonight and finally won, so to speak, because I knew the answer to the Final Jeopardy question and the two guys who were waaay in the lead didn't and bet a whole lot! And I scored higher than the actual winner on the show, so yeah, I'll say, go me.

Also, when looking on the ice skating boards I saw a post about Australian ice skating - which we don't have many of, but there's a Junior girl coming up who looks pretty good, which is a surprise because Figure Skating's not big here. Although the Macquarie Shopping Centre Ice Rink is usually well attended. Last time I went I saw some ice dancers practicing, alas there were no twizzles to be seen. Anyway there's a skating competition over in France tonight Australian time but I won't be able to stay up for it, I hope the Aussie girl does fabulously.

Moving along, Meme time before I get ready for bed:

Mystery

Do you read mystery novels? If so, why? Is it the mysteries themselves that appeal to you? The puzzle-solving? The murders? Or why don’t you read them? What about them doesn’t appeal?

I do love a murder mystery novel! I didn't use to when I was very young. Although I did read a couple of Agatha Christie's my father had which I enjoyed even though I couldn't figure out the murderer or if I did be damned if I knew the motive! But I really got into Agatha Christie novels in my 20s and I'm currently in the process of collecting all the books through fortnightly magazine/book collection. All of the books have reproduction of the original covers, which is especially cool.
Anywho, what appeals to me about them is the process of trying to solve the mystery, even if I don't manage to solve them myself.

And that's pretty much all I have to say for today - oh I washed my towel and the husband of Mum's friend down in the main house was nice enough to put it (and my other towels and miscellaneous other stuff) in the dryer because I was out volunteering at the time. Although that reminds me that I said I'd so some ironing, yet another thing to fit into the schedule tomorrow!

Wish me luck with that!

Goodnight!

11:09pm: But I neglected to mention it! As you may or may not know, I'm a big fan of Jeopardy, or really of quiz shows like that in general. Anyway, it's only every week day at 4pm on Channel 1 here, but sometimes I miss it. Buuuut yesterday I discovered a site dedicated to the show and has all the games recreated for your own quizztaking amusement! :OD Wheeee! Not quite the same as the show of course, but if you've ever wanted to see what Jeopardy game happened in 1988 that's your place :OD

In other news, not much to report, I was going to go and get my hair cut today, but I've decided to hold off until tomorrow on Mum's advice. Sunday is Dad's birthday so some family members are coming over for a get together, so I want to look presentable. Also, with the recent humid and rainy weather my hair has been ridiculously puffy and it's long enough now that it takes ages to dry and is the biggest pain in the ass to brush.

Anywho, better get onto those Memes!

Friday's Question

17/2/12

Do you ever completely “unplug” when you go on vacation? Why or why not?

Oh Hell no! I always make sure I can get an internet connection, heh. Although when we went to Bali in 2001 we didn't have mobile phones or anything and we only had access to the internet like once for an hour or something. A very good time was had! Although we did have a TV with English language channels that I spent a day watching when I was having stomach issues one day, that was handy.

As to why, I use the net to relax! I neeed it man. :OP

Friday Fill Ins

And...here we go!

1. Finally, I found a fair number of library jobs to apply to!

2. Now that Mum is back, she wants me up at 8am basically every day, which sure takes some getting used to!

3. Dad says:
"Your dinner's going to get cold!" Like two seconds after he serves it up.

4. Burger Boy is my favorite nick name for my little bro, who I haven't seen for some weeks now...hope he's coming on Sunday.

5. It took a long time, but finally cut down on my tv show recording habit.

6. I'm rather a homebody though I wouldn't have it any other way.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to
finishing up these Memes, tomorrow my plans include working and getting that haircut and style and Sunday, I want to enjoy Dad's get together and RP!

Friday5

Green

1. What’s your favorite green article of clothing? My green t-shirt with a smiley face licking its lips on it, it's totally adorable!

2. What could you do with a little bit of extra spending green this weekend? Buy Dad a nice birthday present.

3. In what way are you conservative of natural resources? Well, I don't do much ironing (seriously the creates a fair bit of greenhouse gases!) And I make sure to recylce as much as can. It can be hard at work though...

4. When did you last shoot some pool? About three years ago, and I utterly suck at it often unable to hit the ball because of my lack of co-ordination.

5. Of whom are you envious lately? People with full-time jobs? I want one too!

And those are the Memes!

Now it's getting late and since Mum wakes me up an hour earlier than I'm used to these days, I better get myself to bed now.

Goodnight all!
