9:33pm: Damn, they've decided to be an ass to me again with much discomfort and odd sensations...I feel like an eyelash might be in there, but there seems to be nothing. Very irritating...I wonder if there's something in the air because my nose was certainly itchy today and I never did get that horseradish and garlic stuff that my mother swears by. Whoops.

Anyway, as I mentioned yesterday, I had to get up at 7am today to go for my training at my prospective employer's house. Suffice to say I mostly watched how things were done although I did to a few things. Not sure how I feel about it to be honest. On the one hand, the lady is very nice and quite funny, so there's no issues on that front, but yeah...it's one thing to have a buddy for this sort of thing, it's quite another to do it by yourself! I'm worried I might fuck up or do something not right with the personal care and things will become quite a mess, figuratively and literally! But I'm going back for more training tomorrow and on the weekend too so...

I did get an email back from the guy my aunt referred me to, but no meeting has been set up yet and nothing forthcoming from the library (incidentally the council HR department has apparently been downsized so it could take even longer than usual to get a reply!), I think I could turn down this job by Monday, but after that I'm pretty much committed.

Furthermore...I don't even know how one would leave a job like this...I suppose it's the same as any job? Give your two weeks notice, although then I'd probably be expected to train my replacement...ugh, I'm not good at issuing instructions. Although I'm getting ahead of myself here, I should stop catastrophising things.

Oh and I forgot to mention the most interesting thing, the current care worker is called Monica too! She's the first one I've ever met personally in my life I kid you not! There was a Monica at my high school but she was in Year 7 when I was in Year 12 so I never even saw her. So yeah, this quite amusing to me. She's also really nice, so hey, good people.

In other news, I'm not sure about the gym situation, by which I mean taking my gym gear with me so I can go there after work. However, one probably shouldn't bring too much crap to someone's house, my stuff was a bit in the way today actually, and that was rather awkward. I suppose I'll just have to come back here after it and collect it. I guess it wouldn't be such a problem, I do have that bus ticket after all.

Anyway, better wrap this up and head to bed, a lack of sleep could also be behind my eyeballs acting up.

Wish me luck tomorrow! Goodnight all!

11:05pm: I really hate it when they randomly decide to freak out on me, I think I must have accidentally got something in them because they feel really weird like there's grit in them or something. Ow.

In other news, I need to decide if I'm going to the Book Fair in Chatswood tomorrow, I actually thought it ended today, but apparently I can't read. Thing is, I don't actually have that much money to play around with, also I probably shouldn't be buying more books, I can fit them here in the flat, but what will happen when I go back to the apartment?

And...I just remembered I was meant to do something for my mother, whoops. Better get onto that!

In sporting news, Serena Williams beat Maria Sharapova aka the screamer at the Australian Open Final tonight, praise the Lord! Seriously, I have real trouble believing that shrieking isn't deliberate, I can never watch any match that she's in.

Also! Australia won the Football (Soccer) Asian Cup! Sweeet, I guess I am somewhat of a typical Aussie as I do enjoy hearing about Australian teams winning, even in sports I don't give a shit about. :OP

And now, Memes please!

Interruptions

1. How regularly do you get interrupted at work, and how well do you handle it? I don't work, sob, thanks for rubbing it in. :OP

2. What was the occasion the last time a TV program you were watching was interrupted by breaking news? Um...hmm...I can't really think of one. There might have been something about those fires that broke out in October because they were really unexpected.

3. Whose flow did you most recently interrupt, and what was so important? Well, I did interrupt the workshop leader quite a bit this week, I didn't mean to, but it happens...

4. How easily does your train of thought get interrupted? Eas- hmm, what's that? I can't believe it now my nose is itchy - ily.

5. What’s something in your life that could use some interrupting? My unemployment! Seriously, this is bullshit.

Saturday 9

:Papa Loved Mama (1992):

1) This song is about a trucking "accident" that was covered extensively in the local paper. What's the big news story in your neighborhood? Ummm...I'm not sure, in the broader Sydney context there's the inquest to the terrorist attack in December, sad stuff.

2) The action centers around a motel. When is the last time you stayed in a hotel or motel? In mid-December when my parents and I went to Bathurst for my graduation.

3) In the song, Papa wants to surprise Mama with a bottle of wine. Do you prefer white or red? Neither, don't like wine.

4) This week's featured artist, Garth Brooks, has said that the late Chris LeDoux -- singer, sculptor and rodeo champion -- is his hero. If you had to single out someone this morning as your hero, who would it be? Well, I do admire Plushy a whole lot. A perfect example of never giving up!

5) Before he was able to support himself as a singer, Brooks was a bouncer at a bar. Have you ever had an encounter with a bouncer (either that he threw you out or came to your aid)? Nope, don't really go to bars, not my scene.

6) According to the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America), Garth surpassed The Beatles as the top selling artist of the last 25 years. Whose music do you listen to more -- Garth Brooks or the The Beatles? For serious? I've never even heard of Garth Brooks! The Beatles for sure!

7) While 1992 was a banner year for Garth Brooks, it was a bad one for another country legend, Willie Nelson. Willie ended up paying the IRS more than $9,000,000. When you file your taxes, will you qualify for a refund? Or will you owe money? Oh shit, I owe money...which I haven't paid...and I really should have, but I kind of can't afford it. This is very awkward...I'll have to do something about that before I end up getting fined and having to pay even more!

8) When this song was popular in 1992, Sarah Ferguson, then the Duchess of York, was in all the papers and magazines for her controversial conduct -- including being photographed sunbathing topless with a man not her husband. Today no one seems to care much about what Sarah Ferguson does. Can you think of someone else whose fame was fleeting? Oh I don't know, she was in the news just recently defending her ex. To answer the question um...I wanted to say the Karadasian's but they're still around. Justin Beiber same story...Bummer.

9) This is Super Bowl weekend. Where will you be watching The Big Game? Not in the US and even if I was, I wouldn't be watching, football isn't my bag.

Right, better wrap this up, it's getting quite late, plus I should rest my eyes all things considered.

11:23pm: The shelving unit and pull out table for the TV to stand on is complete! And I just remembered I was supposed to take photos to show the progress of it...not that I could have because the builder came while I was out and about, he was finishing up as I got home. But let it be said it looks mighty nice, having a shelf for the TV really adds class to the place. :OP Plus I've got lots of shelving now, although I haven't put anything on them because my knee was hurting me today, not sure what that was all about.

Anyway! This morning things went well with MUm and Dad and the cars, I was on time and they were late, so go me! Plus I took my sandals to the bootmaker in Dee Why near the library and the man said he can fix them for sixty bucks. Apparently, Kumfs shoes have this sole/heel breakdown problem a lot and he's able to get special comfortable soles from Rockport to replace them. Niiice indeed.

As for the library, I completed going through the audio section and fixing up broken cases and cleaning discs and whatnot, I feel very proud indeed! I'm going back tomorrow, although I suppose I should be careful not to do too much for free, because if I do, why would they hire me! Although...one would have to hope people would be nice.

The only thing I didn't manage to do was any work on the assignments due when TAFE starts again, I really better get onto those because I'm sure I won't really want to do them next week. Bah, don't let me forget!

And that's pretty much all I have to say for today, plus my eyeballs feel weird and a bit dry so I should get myself to bed. I need to catch up on the zzzs!

10:37pm: It's called Behind Mansion Walls and in the brief time I've watched it I've seen the same episode of it three times, but on all those occasions they've been narrated by a different person! I mean I've heard of changing narrators over the lifetime of a show, but they don't usually go back and re-narrate the show do they? Seems a bit expensive and you can only think the previous narrators don't want their name attached to the show or something. LOL weird. It's not as if it's the worst show ever made, so colour me confused.

Also rather unrelated, the (third) narrator of the Mansion show and the show I'm watching now has two people wearing the most hideous tie/shirt combinations. My father would be appalled.

In non-satorial news, not much to report, I was particularly lazy today only leaving the flat to reset the internet in Mum's friends house, to empty the recycling and later in the evening go down to the street to take a bag from my mother - since she and Dad have almost moved everything out of the old house and over to the Retirement Home. I don't think this was a good idea, because my eyes have gone weird, all dry and tired and it's not like I didn't sleep in today, which I didn't mean to do but my phone decided to be a dick and not charge despite been plugged in. I think it must be the charger I'm using! I thought perhaps the battery might be the problem too so I put in second one I have, but it appears to be even worse, I mean the phone stayed charged as long as I didn't use it, which is pretty damn useless. So the other battery has gone back in. I'm wondering if I'll have to look into getting a new phone, but I can't actually afford to do that, plus the little bro bought me that lovely green cover. I guess if it gets really bad though I could ask Dad for the phone he had before his school gave him an iPhone.

Anything else to report? Not really, although I forgot to mention that yesterday on my way home from the library I ended up sitting next to a Missionary from the Church of Jesus Christ and the Latter Day Saints. Turns out there, they're more polite about things than the Mormons or whoever it was who showed up at parents' house years and years ago and when I said I was Catholic looked at me as if I had an extra head. Rude!

And finally I have to head to the doctor's next Friday about what vaccinations I need to work in Aged Care, man I sure hope I don't need to get a lot. Fingers crossed.

Now, Meme time! )

Okedoke, that's pretty much all have to say for today, tomorrow will be interesting as I'll be going over to the parental home for the last time, sniff. And of course, church and the gym.

Also I have to go to bed soon, since I do feel tired.

I bid you all goodnight!

Damn Me...

Jul. 17th, 2014 11:52 pm
anonymoose_au: (Oh Bitch Bitch Bitch)
11:39pm: Right, so today was the interview and wouldn't you know it? I was five minutes late instead of five minutes early for it! I don't get it, I totally planned my route, but I must have missed the last bus I needed to catch by mere minutes. :O( In the end I dropped $13 to take a taxi, hmpf! And to further add insult to injury, my lower abdomen was hurting like Hell all day, and I don't even have any Buscopan anymore. Most unpleasant...it better go away for tomorrow, I have to go to the library for volunteering! And apply for the library jobs while I'm at it.

Oh also...I don't think I did very well at the interview, shit. I should probably get in contact with the Career Counsellor person and see if she can fit me in for some interview role play, although now I'm at TAFE I won't be able to do morning appointments.

So yeah, I'll hear about whether I got the job or not next Friday - as one of my online friends said to me - "We're our own worst critics" so maybe I didn't go as badly as I thought...

Oh and also went to the optometrist despite the stomach pain, which settled a bit and did the tests, but while there was a change in my left eye it's really, really teeny and with my lack of funds at present it really isn't worth getting new glasses. I guess I'll have to see about moving closer to the slides at TAFE, although everyone in class has kind of got used to where they're sitting, so...

Anywho, I better get to bed, keep my sleeping hours up, but before I go, the Meme!

Summertime

Do your reading habits change in the summer? Well, it isn't summer, but not really now a days because I either work all year round or...don't work much at all :OP Back when I was at school I'd read more during the summer holidays, but yeah, those are all in the past. Plus, my reading habits have also changed because of smartphones, now I can go online when I'm on the bus rather than having to open a book. Tsk tsk.

And on a final note, the ankle seems to be feeling better, I wore the compression bandage all day today so with any luck I'll be able to go to the gym on Saturday.

Now, I bid you all goodnight!

10:09pm: Right, I've just realised something about my headaches...I think my glasses prescription is no longer up to task. I just noticed that today when I was at TAFE, I sit in the back of the classroom and we had lots of slides to look at today. Plus when I close one eye and then the other I can't see very well, I even downloaded an app that indicated I might have some issues - although I guess an app would tell you that. :OP

So anyway, I'm wondering if I should head out some hours before my interview in the city to go to my optimistrist since I'll probably be able to get a walk-in appointment. The only issue? Now that's I'm poor and have had to put my Private Health Insurance on hold I don't think I can afford to get the lenses replaced in my glasses. And even if I can I won't be able to get the transition lenses because they're like $400 by themselves. I wonder then if I should just go to the Specsavers at the Mall? However, I would rather go to an optimistrist who knows me and all that.

Wait, I've just realised I'd have to get a new pair of glasses because I only have this one pair, so if I gave them to optimistrist to send them away what would I wear? I'd be really blind then! Shiiit, I can't afford new glasses from that place, they have expensive frames there!

So, yes, bit of an issue there.

Also, I had to return the ankle compression sock thing today because last night I woke up and it was digging into my flesh and was as painful as Hell! Ow! I did however buy a medium sized one from a different pharmacy, which feels much better, although it was $3 more expensive, boo. However, there was no suitable cheap Homeyped shoes unfortunately, so I'll have to wear my old ones with my grey suit tomorrow. And make sure my shirt is properly ironed! I've got my birth certificate ready to take too, must make sure to keep it safe! Unfortunately, I kind of forgot about my Career's Counsellor, aw crap, I was supposed to do some interview roleplaying before my next interview. It's a bit late now though...

And finally, I must call my pyschiatrist's office, because he hasn't got back to me yet and I really should make an appointment before too long.

Right! On that note, I guess I'll be off, I should keep my bed time hour reasonable and not spend so much time looking at computer screens until I get my prescription up to date!

And that's all I have to say about that, for now, goodnight!

8:36pm: Well, dang, I think I might have a cold or something...either that or I got dust up my nose at some point because my nose was running like a sieve this morning and also there was a lot of sneezing. I took a Sudafed, which finally kicked in after a couple of hours, but it seems to have had a nasty side effect, it hasn't just dried out my nasal passages, but my eyeballs as well! Ouch, they're so sore... Either that or the virus has just left me super tired, which I guess is a possibility too.

Hmpf! I seem to recall getting a cold just after last Easter as well, what's up with that shit? Is there something in Easter chocolate? I sure hope not because I've been eating it today! Still on the plus side, since it was a public holiday, I didn't have to go to work, or more probably call in sick.

So yeah, despite my malaise, Mum and Dad had me help them with cleaning up the backyard (hmpf, not pity for my poor self) and I also had to clean up my bedroom because Dad came up this morning to look for something and was most horrified. Honestly, though, it wasn't that bad, Dad's just a neat freak. :OP Although I guess it does look better.

Anyway...this isn't much of an entry I'm afraid, I'm gonna turn in pretty soon, maybe this will turn out to be a 24 hour thing, I'm supposed to go to get my laser treatment tomorrow, I'll have to see how I feel I guess.

Huh, Law & Order: SVU and Scottie from Cold Case has popped up, LOL! Not playing Scottie I imagine, but it's sort of funny. It could be him, though, since Cold Case ended years ago...would explain what happened to him, LOL.

10:58pm: Son of a bitch, don't ever get caught up in Tumblr tags! You won't be able to get off them! That's what I've been doing practically all day, and I'm sure my eyeballs are going to rebel any minute now.

I did go to the gym though! I'm pleased about that :OD oh and when I got back I found that skin cleanser I was talking about yesterday, turns out I had put it and my other bathroom essentials elsewhere. And that elsewhere was right in front of my face in a Simpsons reusable bag that's been sitting on top of my laundry basket for the last three weeks. Man, I'm so blind.

In other news...there was a story on the TV tonight about a clutter-clearing person and his efforts to help out someone with a borderline hoarding issue. I happened to be watching it all ready, but Mum called me down to watch it with her. :OP I'd like to point out, though, that this person had 70 pairs of shoes, more clothes than you could imagine and also lived a one bedroom apartment. I live in a teeny tiny apartment! My stuff isn't junk...there's just...too much of it, LOL.

There's a rather odd noise right now...like something squeaking...I've heard it before, but I wasn't able to figure out where it came from. Weird.

Anyway! Let's bring on those Memes:

Follow Friday Four Fill-Ins

The statements:

1. Having a cool glass of worker of water helps me refocused and concentrate!

2.I really have to get onto the job hunting!

3. The first thing I do in the AM is take a drink of water, sadly it's not cool...

4. Tomorrow morning I am going to clean up this room of mine because I'm sure Mum's going to come up and look at it.

Usage

1. What was the occasion that called for your most recent use of a power tool? I don't believe I've ever used a power tool.

2. What was the occasion that called for your most recent use of a postage stamp? Sending a Get Well card to Plushy, which I don't think he got...I wonder if it'll come back, I made that by hand damnit.

3. What was the occasion that called for your most recent use of a threatening word or gesture? Hearing about how the Government is treating aslyum seekers, particularly unaccompanied children.

4. What was the occasion that called for your most recent use of some transparent tape? Um...hmm...I had to use it at work to tape close a magazine that came in a bundle.

5. What was the occasion that called for your most recent use of Wikipedia? I usually go through Google because when I look up something the Wikipedia article often pops up first. In this case it was some Russian ballerina.

And that squeaky noise is disappearing, then coming back...it's bloody annoying and I wish I could figure out where it's coming from!

I suppose I could go looking...and in that case I'd have to get up...

On that note I shall say goodnight!

10:35pm: My special anti-acne face cleanser stuff I bought for like $50 a few months ago. I'm supposed to use it every day on my face to keep my face from turning into a 15 year old boy's, but alas I can't find it. I thought it'd be in the box of all my bathroom stuff, but I think I packed that box with stuff a few weeks before I left the apartment, but I had the cleanser until the last day I was there. But where the Hell did I put it? Crap. That stuff was pricey and seemed to work so where the Hell is it? I hope it's not in some box or crate that's got stuff piled on it...I've put nearly all the crates in the good storage area so it's a bit crowded in there now. Damn.

Still, if I have to lose something much better that it's that than my keys, lest we forget!

In other news, I really have to go to bed earlier on Wednesday night because early on Thursday mornings some asshat decides to bring out the leaf blower and wakes me up! Rude! As I result my eyes are very tired and have been irritating me for half a day. Although that could also be from the pool at the gym, I didn't put my goggles on right and water seeped in and yeah it hurt quite a bit.

Anywho, I remain with no real news - I really need to apply for some jobs, stat - so let's do a meme and get going:

Mark Up

Do you write in your books? Highlight? Make notes? Or do you like to keep your copies as pristine as possible?

I could have sworn this question was asked not too long ago. And in answer to the question, whilst I may be messy with many other things, I cannot abide messy book pages! There's to be no underlining, highlighting or dog-ear-ing! Such things break my book-loving heart. Unless we're talking about photocopies, in which case I'll mark the Hell out of those with abandon, LOL. :OP

Right, I think I've made my feelings clear there. :OP

Okedoke, I guess that's it...oh I did forget to mention yesterday that the parental abode continues trying to kill me, I keep running into stuff and getting bruises! Yesterday I got up in such a way I somehow managed to punch the edge of the wardrobe, ow! And there's a big bruise on my lower leg from accidentally hitting one of the crates - which I'd be avoiding quite easily before. On the plus side, those weird bruises on my upper legs have almost disappeared, phew!

Right, I shall take this as my cue to exit and bid you all goodnight!

Oh wait! One last found thing! My second newsagency shirt, somehow it got shoved in the wardrobe in the spare room in such a way I couldn't see it when I went looking, was uncovered by my mother today. Hooray! I was wondering where it had got to.

Although this is weighed up by the fact my green drink bottle has disappeared, which really sucks because I still have the stick that goes in the freezer that keeps it cool. I swore I took the drink bottle with me when I left work on Tuesday...I guess I should call. If it's not there, I must have left it on the bus. Gosh...I fail at keeping a hold of things, honestly!

So yes, I say goodnight!

10:42pm: Well, I do...my lower leg muscles, especially the right one...wearing my high heel sandals yesterday and doing all that walking around was apparently a big mistake. Aw, fuck. It's really made cleaning up my room impossible because going up and down stairs really hurts.

This also means I've been sitting up here on my laptop for waaay too long and my eyes are hurting - I did go out today actually, to my IPL treatment thing and even did quite a bit of walking...which probably wasn't a good plan now I think of it. Still,it doesn't really hurt walking or whatever on flat surfaces.

I also don't have much else to say...I'm watching I Shouldn't Be Alive right now...oh man, these three guys have decided to go hiking in some dangerous ass canyon and you know it's going to go pearshaped (ahem obvious statement is obvious). I think I may have seen this one, there's a cave in and one of them has to cut his own hand off or something.

Honestly though, ignoring the GPS...why bother bringing it along?! Just watching this is making my legs ache in sympathy.

So yeah...got nothing more to say...I really need to work on making these entries more interesting, LOL.

Oh...did you hear? Apparently some of the families of the people on the Malaysian Airlines plane were informed that 'all hope has been lost of finding anyone alive' by SMS?! WTF?! Why would anyone think that was an acceptable way to inform anyone of something like that? Everything that's happened since the plane disappeared has been one giant fuck-up...

10:16pm: World's Craziest Airports or something like that, I thought it was on at 7:30pm and that I'd missed it, but it started at 9:30pm instead. Too late to record now, they're halfway through the count. Also...I may have all ready recorded it? Maybe I can get it on YouTube.

Right now though...there's an airport with a highway running across it? What the fuck? Note to self don't land in Gibralta's airport. Or drive on the roads there apparently. It's like a railway crossing, but still!

I shall have to make this a quick entry...it's a very good thing I'm going to work tomorrow I've been on the laptop far too long the last few days and it's finally bitten me on the ass. My eyes are so dry and icky now...I wish I had some drops or something...

In other news, I'm worried about my laptop's keyboard, a crumb of something fell under the keyboard, first it got behind the space bar, which sucked, I thought I'd managed to get it out, but it seems to have gone behind the 'G' key now, sigh. Except...now the 'G' key seems to be working again...weird!

Also to my surprise when I watched the news today it was 32 degrees outside for the first time since...mid-January, I think, I thought it was pretty damn warm today, but I thought it was just me...apparently not! Glad I decided to put on the air-con! Of course, on the heels of that was a bit storm. I better make sure I check the weather before I go to work tomorrow, I don't want to wear the wrong pants!

Oh and in annals of annoying shit, there's no oven mitts at my parents house, this is annoying because I managed to burn myself getting my chips out. Ouch! Damnit! Not super badly or anything, but it's left a mark and also stinging pain. I am not pleased.

Right, as I said, sore eyeballs, so I guess I'll wrap this up...although I could have sworn I had something else to say...Ah well, I've forgotten it now.

So, I say to you goodnight!

Smokey...

Oct. 21st, 2013 10:29 pm
anonymoose_au: (Oww...Aaah...Owwww)
10:01pm: Well, the bushfires continue in the mountains, quite a worry for everyone up there (I know a couple of people up there, sends best wishes to them), but there's also a side effect. Masses of smoke, Seriously, this morning it looked like fog it was so thick. And even though I've spent most of the day inside, my eyes have started to burn like a bitch. They're so dry!I should get some of that eye moisture stuff that you can put on closed eyes, because putting in traditional eye drops is difficult.

In other news, not much...although as it turned out I didn't need to help Mum with the books today, but I ended up having to call her because I managed to miss the Newtown to Spit Junction bus then after managing to get a bus to Wynyard I missed the second bus I could have taken! So at the risk of ending up being quite late indeed I rang her up and she happened to be in the city and was able to get me. Although I was still 5 minutes late, whoops.

Meanwhile, I've been worrying a bit about my job, I'm still concerned that this desk moving thing could be a prelude to showing me the door. Or maybe I'm just been melodramatic...one of the reasons I'm a bit worried is not long before I was told that I'd be moving one of the managers from the other department (the office has one big account so they have a special group dedicated to doing all the stuff for it) was kind of snarky to me. I wonder if he complained to my supervisor that I was too much of a chatterbox :O/ gee awkward. Mum did suggest I could ask HR, but I don't want to bring up something like that! Because if it's not the case I don't want to put the idea out there that I might be a disruptive influence!

Bah! I suppose this is the kick in the pants I need to get onto the job hunting, just in case. Man, I hope I'm just worrying over nothing, because if I lose my job I'll be heading back to the parentals for sure D:

Anyway, I have to go now and get my ass to bed!

Goodnight all and see you on the other side!

10:32pm: Something must have got in it because it's been irritated all day, usually I can get whatever's in it out, but that hasn't worked this time, which is rather worrying. Hopefully, it'll work itself out otherwise it might be most uncomfortable...

Once again not much to report, although my irritable bowel decided to be very irritable today and as a result I was late for work, good thing I got there early yesterday! I have to wonder if there's something here in my parents house that makes it act up, I hope not because I'm here tonight because I came over to talk about my budget situation, which took a lot less time than I thought it would. Basically Mum told me to keep up with the job hunt and wait until the end of the financial year, fingers crossed that something changes by then so I don't have to leave my apartment!

I do have one hope though if all else fails, my parking spot, I kind of screwed up with renting it out, I asked for way too low a price, I should be getting at least $35 a week, but I'm only getting $23. Sadly, though I can't renegotiate the rent until the start of June, bum. Still I might let them know in case they're not willing to pay, in which case I need to advertise to find someone else.

Right, it's late so I'm heading off to bed now.

Goodnight all

10:19pm: It's all sore like I've got an eyelash in it, but I can't see anything when I check in the mirror, argh so irritating! It makes it difficult to concentrate, which I was hoping to be able to do tonight because I have to apply to those all important ABC jobs! Which reminds me yet again how much I hate writing cover letters and that shit, I never know if I'm writing the right thing! It's probably not that bad then for me to hold off on writing it until I can get Mum's opinion when I go over there tomorrow.

Moving along, work is going well! In fact they've asked me to come in for another extra day next week, which is very good news indeed because I'm running a bit low on moneys and all these bills have come in! I don't think I'm saving as much as I hoped I would be, but then I have been buying new clothes lately, better cut back on that!

Not much else to report and I better wrap this up because I have to go and wax my legs, I wore long pants today but the weather has been quite hot and I'll be wearing a skirt tomorrow as well as Casual Albert on Saturday so I want to look good.

Plus it's bed time!

So off I go!

10:43pm: Yes indeed, due to my inability to go to bed at the right hour, my eyeballs were very rebellous today. At first I thought it was my new glasses causing the problem, but fortuantely I realised it was the lack of zzz's doing it.

Actually I was a bit concerned my glasses weren't working right this morning - they've got transition lenses in them now so in the sunlight they darken to prevent squinting, but when I got into the office this morning things seemed quite dim...I finally realised though it was just because most of the blinds in the office had been pulled down, LOL.

Anyway, due to my lack of planning Memes continue to remain elusive, although I am at least keeping on top of Thursday, in fact here it is now!

Contemplation

So … you’ve just finished reading a book. For the sake of the discussion, we’ll say it was everything a book should be—engaging, entertaining, interesting, thought-provoking. The kind you want to gush over. The question is—do you immediately move on to your next book? Or do you take time to contemplate this writerly masterpiece and all its associated thoughts/emotions/ideas for a while first?

I usually go on to the next one, but admittedly I often read books that are part of a series, so it makes sense too! If it's really good I probably will think about it a lot, imagine what the characters got up to afterwards, stuff like that. Sometimes I might even go and re-read some of my favourite parts of the book, just to relive the fun. Also now that I'm on Goodreads.com I'll make sure to leave a review for it :O)

In other news, I was going to app Arthur to a new game, I even reserved him, I got one extension because NaNo left me so busy, but I think I missed the deadline again, whoops. I suppose I could try reserving again, or you know, just get off my ass and write the actual app, LOL.

And finally, I'm so annoyed, my finger slipped while I was looking at something on the My Little Pony game and I accidentally spent four gems. Rude.

And now I really am off to bed, goodnight!

11:32pm: I totally underestimated how much those can stack up, but I got an unfortunate lesson in that today when I had to pay $23 worth of fines! I'm ao embarrassed, and I also feel pretty damn stupid.

In further news, I continue to be unable to get home in time for Letters and Numbers, although I was able to watch Who Wants to be a Millioniare. As it turned out, Mum and Dad (who went to see Michael Bubble tonight) needed me to drop them off at the station. I tell you I'm not liking the car, I really must disccussing this with my psychiatrist.

At present I'm back here at my apartment and I seem to ahve an eyelash in my eye and I can hardly see.

So let's meme and run:

Romantic

What’s the most romantic book you’ve ever read?

(Mind you, I don’t mean the hard-core stuff you hide in plain wrappers under your mattress. I mean True Love, Romance, deeply emotional, heart-tugging, and all that stuff.)

And, secondly, did you like it? Is it your usual kind of reading, or did it take you by surprise?

Wow, that's a toughie...I don't know if I've ever actually read a romantic book like that...oh! Pride & Prejudice, oh that Mr. Darcy...also Sense & Sensibility and Emma. All of Jane Austen's works really, ah romance!

3x Thursday

Picky Pantz

Name 3 personal products you use that ‘if they don’t have it, then I’ll go without’ (toothpaste, shampoo, body wash, lotion, etc) . Why are you so particular about these certain things?

Uh...I'm not actually that particular, I mean if you don't have any toothpaste, you gonna buy some, at least it's one of those weird herbal toothpastes. But there's generally something usable there.

And the last of the Deadly Sins Survey!

The Seven Deadly Sins Meme

Day 1 - Pride. Seven great things about yourself.
Day 2 - Envy. Seven things you lack and covet.
Day 3 - Wrath. Seven things that piss you off.
Day 4 - Sloth. Seven things you neglect to do.
Day 5 - Greed. Seven worldly material desires.
Day 6 - Gluttony. Seven guilty pleasures.

Day 7 - Lust. Seven love secrets.

Day 7 - Lust. Seven love secrets.

I don't really have any, but just for lols here's the seven fictional and/or hisstorical men I've had a crush on!

1. Prince Albert, wife of Queen Victoria - seriously, he was a looker!
2. Archie Kennedy from Hornblower
3. This guy in a Disney short documentary, which I sadly don't know the name of, otherwise I'd look it up because hot damn, that guy was fiiiine!
4. Ioan Gruffudd.
5. James Marsters - especially Captain John, whoo!
6. Colin Firth as Mr Darcy...mmmm yeah.
7. Prince Arthur - self-explainatory!

Anywho, it's late, so I better get myself to bed. Zzzzs are important when one is working.

Which reminds me, must check with Newsagency about working tomorrow, or not.

Wish me luck on the last day of my first week at the Library.

9:49pm: I was supposed to start at 9:30 and it hasn't! Plus my eyeballs are serious dry, ow.

Well my Arthur has finally got some action - I sent him to the Nexus! He's quite popular if not totally WTF-ing everything, because seriously even a world of mythical creatures and Merlin doesn't prepare you for the weird shit you see in there. Hee.

Although I'm severely tempted to get him a paid account what with the dollar being so good, but then again last Decembere LJ was giving permanent account holders $10 off tokens to give others, and cheapskate that I am I could hardly pass up a deal like that, LOL. We'll have to see though, I might end up giving in.

I've just finished helping Dad with the rest of his preparations for the camp retreat thing he's going on tomorrow with the Year 11. Too bad that doesn't sem to have helped my eyes.

But it's Tuesday and we all know there's no meme's on a Tuesday - except for the shipping meme!

Day 20 - The "can't stand the sexual tension anymore" pairing?

Well for a while it was Daphne and Niles from Frasier. Man did those two go through the wringer. But the UST was fabulous!

Still to come! )

Right, I've got to go and empty my bin, it's garbage night and I keep forgetting to do it. Plus I think I have to clean up the kitchen as well, I cooked sausages tonight so I need to put them away at least.

But I'll have to go to bed soon anyway, because tomorrow is the interview which is at 9:30am, it's in Manly and Mum's driving me (she has to pick up something from there) so we have to leave at 8:30am. Which means getting up at 7:30am, which probably isn't all that early for normal employee types, but not me. LOL.

In other news, I'm watching an interesting program about Sex and Cyberspace, gotta be careful what you put in Google search...and have you ever noticed that mainstream porn is boring as anything? At least from the pop-ups...no thank you.

In other news, not much, although that assignment result I was talking about has finally come back and I passed yay! Although it was hardly a stellar mark, 62%. Better then a poke in the eye with a burnt stick I suppose.

4. Getting myself chocolate is what I look forward to most when grocery shopping.

6. Lasagne...is there anything else better?!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to
just sitting around, reading, tomorrow my plans include giving Mum chocolates for Mother's Day and maybe returning that book to the library if I manage to finish it! and Sunday, I want to _____!

Four For Friday

The May 7th Edition

Q1 - Apprehension: Earlier this week, during a game against the St. Louis Cardinals, a towel-waving Philadelphia Phillies baseball fan gained access to the field where he eluded security while running in circles in the outfield. After just 30 seconds of being on the field, the fan was subdued by a Philadelphia police officer who used a Taser stun gun to bring him down. While many people question the use of a stun gun to bring down a prankster, Major League Baseball players have said it's an appropriate action, because they fear for their safety. What do you think... should stun guns be used to stop the occasional jokester, or should fans entering the field of play during games will be apprehended by team security as they always have (by tackle)?

That's a bit harsh isn't it? Those things can kill people! I find it a little hard to believe they couldn't have subdued him in any other way...They're big burly security personnel. I suppose you could also almost kill the guy that way too. Maybe they can just use a net or something. :OP

Q2 - Loans: In Long Beach, California, the City Council unanimously voted to loan the local Cal Worthington Ford dealership $600,000 so it could keep its doors open and 120 local residents employed. According to news reports, the dealership generates $1.8 million in tax revenue each year and plans to use the loan to finance its expansion plans. Do you think cities or municipalities should lend money to local businesses as they've done in Long Beach, California?

That seems a slightly weird thing to do, it doesn't sound like the company was in trouble or anything...I suppose they were threatening to move or something. Weird... I don't know, it does employ a lot of peoople though. Plus California's in a bad slump at the moment, so keeping jobs is pretty important. I suppose if it's unanimous and there's no sign of people getting paid off.

Q3 - Summer 2010 Movies: Which of the following summer 2010 movies are you most interested in seeing (either in the theatre or on DVD)... Robin Hood (opens May 14); Shrek 4 Forever After (opens May 21); Prince of Persia The Sands of Time (opens May 28); Sex and the City 2 (opens May 28); Killers (opens June 4); Marmaduke (opens June 4); Splice (opens June 4); Get Him to the Greek (opens June 11); Karate Kid (opens June 11); The A Team (opens June 11); Jonah Hex (opens June 18); Toy Story 3 (opens June 18); Grown Up (opens June 25); Twilight 3 Eclipse (opens June 30); Knight and Day (opens July 2); Leaves of Grass (opens July 2); Despicable Me (opens July 9); Inception (opens July 16); The Sorcerer's Apprentice (opens July 16); Salt (opens July 23); Cats and Dogs 2 (open July 30); Get Low (opens July 30); I Love You Philip Morris (opens July 30); Little Fockers (opens July 30); The Other Guys (opens August 6); Eat Pray Love (opens August 13).

Gawd, that's a lot of movies...but hey Little Fockers, that's a sequel to Meet the Parents/Fockers, that sounds like fun! Also Shrek 4, I neglected to see in the cinema and rather regret.

Q4 - Humor: On the heels of its decision to censor an episode of "South Park" that included a depiction of the prophet Muhammad, Comedy Central said this week it has a cartoon series about Jesus Christ in the works (apparently, "JC" depicts Christ as a regular guy who moves to New York City to escape his father's enormous shadow). Are you offended by the very notion of this new cartoon series (enough so that you wouldn't watch), or could you care less and/or are actually looking forward to watching "JC" when it airs later this year?

Heh...it's a somewhat amusing premise, I mean yikes who's got a bigger shadow than God! But it does go to show the difference in how people take depictions of their God! Personally I think God has a good sense of humour and as long as it's in good fun. Don't know if I'd watch it though...depends if it was actually funny.

The (Other) Friday Five

Friday is Random!

1. What is your favorite book and why?

Gee, it's hard to name just one...I really liked The Mysterious Affair of Styles Agatha Christie's first book. Good time!

2. How many languages do you speak?

Just one, English.

3. How many family members do you have named Bill?, Jim? ETC?

None actually, unless maybe you count my cousin James, but nobody calls him Jim to be knowledge.

4. Whats your all time favorite song?

I've always loved Pachbel's Canon in C

5. WHat can't you imagion your life without?

The internet... Heh.

The (Other) Saturday Six

Six Famous People You'd Like To Meet

Name 6 famous people you would like to meet and why?

1. Colin Firth - because it's Colin Firth!
2. Barack Obama - he sounds like an interesting guy to me. Plus US President!
3. Bob Gale - He was part of the team that creating Back to the Future, best movie ever!

And er, that's all I can think of, I'm too shy to meet other celebrities I'd get all tongue-tied and stuff.

Saturday 9

:Hey Jealousy:

1. When was the last time that you got jealous?

Uh...gee, I don't know, it's been a while.

2. At what point do you finally decide it's time to move forward with your life (like, major changes)? How do you know? What do you do?

I don't, because I suck at that sort of thing...

3. When is it time to just let it ('it' can be whatever you choose) go? How do you know? What do you do?

I don't know either...which is why I have a box full of old newspaper articles and other various bits and pieces that I'm never going to use or look at, LOL.

4. How many times must someone push your buttons before you've just had enough? Why?

It really depends, sometimes I have a seriously short temper, but it really depends on how the day has been.

5. If I S/O were to cheat on you, could you ever see yourself giving them a second chance? Or a third?

I've got no idea...maybe I'd give them a second chance, but not a third, unless there was some SERIOUS mitigating circumstances and I can't think what those would be.

6. What was the last thing that someone did that you were very grateful for?

My mother made me an egg and bacon muffin last Sunday, it was very delicious!

7. How much time do you spend online in a given weekday? What about the weekends?

Err...let's not discuss it, way too much, let me tell you.

8. How many online journals/blogs do you read regularly? What are some of your favorites and why?

My friend's page! I love you all! :OD

9. What was the last major purchase that you made?

Ummm...hmmm...not in ages, but since I've been unemployed I did spend $22 on a American Dad - Season 2 DVD, which you know counts in so far as all that.

This is an interesting police drama I'm watching, though they're still doing the whole Police brutality thing, seriously if I was in the interrogation room and the cop grabbed me by the troat I'd scream like a bandshee and sue their ass.

And fuck me, sudden throwing up scenes, they never warn for this shit, God it pisses me off!

But hey I figured out 'whodunnit' before anyone else on the show did, I guess all those Agatha Christie's have done me good after all.

And that's all I have to say for today.

Goodnight all!
