9:57pm: Not much to report today, I tried to work on that which must not be named...I didn't get very far. How people are having trouble keeping under the word count I don't know. I think I must be doing something wrong here!

In other news I really must hunt for jobs because I've got that interview at Centrelink on Friday and if I don't have a list of the correct number of jobs I'll be in big trouble.

And now...memes!

Sunday Seven

THIS WEEK’S QUESTION:

Name the seven historical unsolved mysteries you’d most like to see solved, in order.

Ooo, let's see!

1. Jack the Ripper (Why did he stop killing? Did he die? Move away? Get locked up for something else?)
2. The Kennedy Assassination (there's something really fishy about it I don't care who you are)
3. The Mystery of Stonehenge (How did they raise this huge stones?!)
4. The Spinx (Because who doesn't love finding out stuff about Ancient Egypt?)
5. The Amber Room (How they Hell they'd move a whole room anyway?!)
6. Atlantis (Did it really exist at all, or is it just a story?)
7. King Arthur (Real or fake?)

Monday Movie Meme

It's about John Hughes, and I've only seen The Breakfast Club and I wasn't that hugely excited by it. I got nothing.

Manic Monday

9/08/2010

Right now, what's on your mind?

The Po-lice, 'cause I'm watching Cops and the Sherif dude just pronouced it like that.

List 10 things you expect from a good friend.

Geeze, that's a long list...um

1. Glad to see me (LOL!)
2. Lots of laughs (Unless you know they're having a hard time or something)
3. A chance to gorge on junk food
4. ????
5. Profit

What's something you've done that you wish you hadn't?

Ummm....Surfing the net while at work I suppose, that was quite a fuck up.

And that's all I've got to say, wow I'm just a barrel of interest these days!

Oh wait, I saw this meme on my friends page:

1. Elaborate on your default icon: It's me! I rarely use it but since you asked you can see it. Originally it was just the cartoon me and the text, then I got the glamour photos that made me look presentable so I added them. This was also before I learnt how to make any transition changes, so it's just flick-flick-flick through the images.

2. What's your current relationship status?: Single and cool.

3. Ever have a near-death experience?: I had a twisted duodeum when I was about six months old, it could have killed me, but luckily my parents noticed something was definitely wrong when I wouldn't even eat Smarties (Going off chocolate is srs bsns).
And once my shoe laces got caught in my bike chain and I fell over and a bus almost ran over my head! That was seriously scary.

4. Name an obvious quality you have: I'm weird.

5. What's the name of the song that's stuck in your head right now? Let's not discuss it, because I just got it out of my head and I don't want it back!

6. Name a celebrity you would marry: Colin Firth...although he is kind of too old for me...Maybe James Franco? He's quite cute!

7. Who will cut and paste this first?: [livejournal.com profile] docsgirl maybe?

8. Has anyone ever said you look like a celebrity?: Well, in one of the glamour photos I was told I bore a resemblence to Audrey Hepburn. But one of those Celebrity Website things said I looked like a bloke (can't remember the name) I was not impressed!

9. Do you wear a watch? What kind?: I used to wear this cool watch of M's with a changeable band, but I have to wind it up, and I kept forgetting. Then I started wearing a watch of my father's and the band broke, so I got a new one which is apparently not wide enough because it keeps coming loose!

10. Do you have anything pierced?: Nope, the possible side effects of this has been previously discussed.

11. Do you have any tattoos?: Hell to the no!

12. Do you like pain?: I'm a complete wuss, if I'd been a participant in that Pain test in tonight's Mythbusters I would have brought down the whole team.

13. Do you like to shop?: For books, sure.

14. What was the last thing you paid for with cash?: Shampoo and conditioner.

15. What was the last thing you paid for with your credit card?: Some stuff I bought for the apartment.

16. Who was the last person you spoke to on the phone?: The employer or interviewer for Thursday, we had to make the appointment later in the day.

17. What is on your desktop background?: It's a collage of George III and Queen Charlotte, which reminds me, I really need to get back to writing that.

18. What is the background on your cell mobile phone?:

George III headshot, he wasn't bad looking in his younger days so I hear.

19. Do you like redheads?: I got nothing against 'em.

20. Do you know any twins?: There was a set at my high school, but I barely knew them. So not really.

21. Do you have any weird relatives?: Hell, most of them are in some way! :OP

22. What was the last movie you watched?: Umm...hmmm....I don't recall...oh wait Something...Something Darkside, I lol'd.

And now that's all I have to say.

Goodnight all!

10:17pm: So here I am at the apartment, which means it's Crime doco time! We're certainly got a crop of complete nutcases tonight. People shooting people in broad daylight for the dumbest reasons. People killing other people and then burning the body. I tell you, if you watch too many of these you'll start getting paranoid!

Anywho! I came over here earlier than usual and went out to the library since the little bro was still here, I also went to the shop to get some much needed items for the apartment, including loofahs for the shower! And also junk food...shame on me. But they're so sweet and tasty. :OP

Although the table and chair set up here is really not ideal, my left arm is all ready a bit sore. This can't bode well.

In further body news, my nose continues to be uncomfortable...so annoying...the cream has come out. I hope it gets fixed soon.

And now, memes please!

Friday's Question

13/08/10

When you were a kid, what did you want to be “when you grew up”? What do you do now? What do you want to be “when you grow up” now (the second time)?

I've discussed this...a lot. So you're all clear.
But I want to be a librarian one day! C'mon me, I can do it!

Friday Fill-In

And...here we go!

1. Music is fabulous! Except when you get two lines of a song stuck in your head - as I do.

2. A nice bowl of cereal is what I like first thing in the morning. (Although I won't be having it tomorrow because there's no cereal in the apartment.)

3. The first thing I said this morning was: "Uuuugh!" I wasn't annoyed I just felt like answering my mother that way, LOL.

4. Chicken nuggets and shoestring chips; it's what was for dinner tonight.

5. It's all been a pack of liiiies. (And I can't remember what song that's from...not the one stuck in my head.

6. Finishing up the memes is what I feel like doing right now.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to
watching the crime docos, tomorrow my plans include going to the university library and applying for jobs and Sunday, I want to enjoy lunch back at the parentals with the grandparents and the big bro!

Friday5

No Superstitious Here!

1. What’s something good that there are thirteen of?

A baker's dozen of donuts or other similiarly sweet treats! ;O)

2. Have you known any black cats?

Nay.

3. Among people you know, who seems to have an uncanny knack for games of chance?

Not that I know of...it's a family joke that Dad won part of a lottery way back in the 70s and used up all the family's luck, alas.

4. It seems to me that while people seem to have all kinds of tokens of good luck, such as lucky articles of clothing or lucky rituals or lucky figurines, nobody has a lucky food. What would make a really good good-luck food, and what would seem to be a bad-luck food?

A good luck food? Cupcakes of course! :OD
A bad luckk food? Prunes...that could end badly...

5. Not that any of us believes in luck, but what’s something that happened this week that seems to have been very lucky for you?

Hmmm...I can't say I can think of anything outstandingly lucky, but I did get a call to come in for a job interview next week at the Parish Support Unit in the same building a volunteer at. I tried to get a job there once before, but I wasn't volunteering the library then, so that could be a boost! Fingers and toes crossed.

And that's all of the memes.

Goddamnit, my eyelashes are falling out at an alarming rate and getting stuck in my eyeballs, it fucking hurts. What's that all about? Eyelashes are supposed to protect your eyes. Sigh...

Righto, I've got nothing more to say really so I shall be off.

11:02pm: That I can and want to do, I mean I don't want to accidentally get hired as a pizza delivery driver or a landscaper or something. I shouldn't have dilly-dallied so much on applying for them though, so it's really my own fault.

Anywho today I spent the day at M's and we played Canasta, and I couldn't believe it! After an absolute kick-ass start where I had M in negative figures she fought back and won! Honestly, it's almost impossible to win against her I tell you.

Ah dang it my eyelashes have turned against me, and damn if they don't hurt when they get into your eye.

Wednesday Wickedness!

Oprah Winfrey

1. “I don't think you ever stop giving. I really don't. I think it's an on-going process. And it's not just about being able to write a check. It's being able to touch somebody's life.” What was the last thing that you did to help somebody’s life?

Uh...oh! I made dinner last night, ain't I saint. :OP

2. “Breathe. Let go. And remind yourself that this very moment is the only one you know you have for sure.” How long have you ever held your breath?

I can't hold my breath for any length of time whatsoever, seriously...Although one time I probably got 30 seconds because my cousin was holding my head under the water at the time.

3. “As you become more clear about who you really are, you'll be better able to decide what is best for you - the first time around.” At what point do you think that you really decided who your were?

Er...I'm not sure, I've never really questioned who I am, but then I suck at making decisions so maybe that's the problem!

4. “The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate.” At what time of the year do you think you celebrate your life the most?

Late December and early January what with it being Christmas, then New Year's Eve and then my birthday - whoo! Plus it's summer! Who wouldn't be celebrating. ;O)

5. “So go ahead. Fall down. The world looks different from the ground.” Are there times when you thought you had fallen down and learned something about yourself?

Hmmm...um...maybe during 2007 and 2009 when I had my full time job? There were plenty of times when I thought I'd fucked up or did indeed fuck up but learnt something on the way.

6. “Devote today to something so daring even you can’t believe you’re doing it.” What was the last thing you did where you thought that you could not believe in what you were doing?

I'm not adventerous...beats me.

7. “Where there is no struggle, there is no strength.” Do you think that you must struggle to become strong?

Yes, although it might not always need to be you doing the struggling, you can be inspired by someone elses.

8. “Doing the best at this moment puts you in the best place for the next moment.” Do you feel that life’s experiences always prepare you for what there is to come?

Never really thought about it...although sometimes stuff just seems random.

9. “The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your dreams.” Can only a rich person feel this way? What do you think Oprah means by this?

Not necessarily, though it certainly makes it a Hell of a lot easier. And Oprah meant what she said :OP

10. “I do not believe in failure. It is not failure if you enjoyed the process.” Do you believe in failure?

Well, duh...I've failed at a number of things, and sadly I didn't often enjoy the process. See my job hunt for an example.

And now I have to go cut my nails, they're annoying me...damn things grow so fast.

Hmmm, no memes are up today...so yeah, have a quiz instead!

You Are Confident

You've accepted yourself fully, and you're happy with where you are in life. You are extremely content.

Your gut reactions tend to be quite optimistic. You expect the best... and usually get it.

You are efficient and savvy. You don't get tied down by unnecessary details.

You are very self sufficient and independent. You prefer to rely on yourself.

Hmmmm...yeah...no. Especially since I didn't even know what one of the options in the first question was!

What else? Oh! Exciting news on the job front they need more Data Entry types because of the election so in two weeks time they'll need a whole lot of people and one of 'em could (will probably?) be me? Here's hoping! Though I'm still waiting on the bank job one too.

Thursday Thunks: Special Talents

The TT questions are brought to you by Bud, the color of Judd Corizan's hair dye and the number 33.

1. Do you have any special talents? Tell us about them.

Sadly no, I'm in fact special in that I have no special talents, I can't wriggle my ears, or roll my tongue or whistle or anything.

2. What is your favorite sound?

Uh...I dunno....my favourite music I guess.

3. What was your favorite TV show as a child or teen?

The Simpsons
, ah I love it.

4. There are a lot of specialty TV networks now devoted to things like golf, gardening, shopping, game shows, sports, news and sci-fi. Do you have any favorite TV networks?

Yes indeed! I love The Crime and Investigation Network, although sadly I can only watch it when I'm at the apartment.

5. What is your guilty pleasure TV show?

Well, I have to admit I got a bit sucked in by this show which had people come on and tell horrible things about themselves for money. Oh dear...

6. Berleen is on the top of a mountain. How on earth did she get there and what was she doing?

I tell you I don't know these people! A skydive went work, beats me.

7. Have you ever dreamt that you made love to someone you haven’t yet met?

Nope.

8. Berleen decides to run away and join the circus. What could you imagine her performing under the big top?

Not having a clue who she is and what talents she has, I've got no idea...lion tamer?

9. What is your favorite sci-fi movie?

Back to the Future
of course!

10. What is your favorite reality show?

Well, I do like Airport - which is a look into life at Heathrow Airport.

11. Bud says he is on vacation. What do you think he is doing?

Having a good time I'm sure. :OP

12. When shopping at the grocery store, do you always return your cart?

I don't generally use one, but if I do I return it.

13. Do you take compliments well?

Sure! And give us some more while you're at it. :OP

I vaguely recall reading one of the Miffy books when I was in kindergarten, it might have been the one where she goes to hospital. It was pretty good.

Wednesday Wickedness!

Chelsea Clinton

1. “I think with our problems with hopelessness and cynicism that [the solution] ultimately has to come from the young people themselves. We've got to realize we are the future and we make of our future what we make of it, and ultimately we have to do it for ourselves.” If you had a wish for your future, what would it be?

That I could be published writer! Ah...that would be sweeet.

2. “We proved we could be safe and secure at home, and still have more allies and friends in the world.” Tell us about a couple of your closest friends.

They're fabulous! Except I don't see them enough because I'm too lazy...which sucks because we always have heaps of fun. Ah the laughter.

3. “I had seen people who had lost everything and everyone they loved to war, famine, and natural disasters.” What is the most that you have ever lost?

Geeze, nothing nowhere near as bad as that...ummm...in fact I can't really think of anything.

4. “We grieve for the loss of life, ... I ask you to redouble your resolve and help your neighbors.” What was the last thing that you have done to help a neighbor?

Er nothing...unless you count the time I cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen next door in lieu of my big bro doing it. He owes me 15 bucks!

5. “I think they were interested in it.” What have you done to help someone because of a shared interest?

Er...dunno...

6. “How we use these surpluses in this moment of prosperity will determine America's future for decades to come. Nothing will more surely determine it than making the right choices…” What do you think the priorities of the United States really should be?

I'm not a US citizen, but I'm really stunned there's such a tide against nationalised health care. It's bizarre!

7. “For all the tornadoes Arkansas has, and the ones that have hit around Little Rock, we never had one just basically come down Main Street.” What was the last severe weather situation that you and your neighbors endured?

Well a couple of nights ago it was windy as anything! You could hear the windows rattle! I don't think any trees fell over in my suburb but plenty did elsewhere.

8. “I had seen people who had lost everything and everyone they loved to war, famine, and natural disasters.” Who among the folks you consider family or friends has lost the most?

I'm not sure...Plus it's kind of personal so I'm not going to air their losses here!

9. “I Do.” If you’ve been married what you’re your thoughts when you said that? Or if not, what would you hope them to be?

Not considering marriage, but I guess... "YAY!" would be good? LOL!

10. "I'm a big health-food freak and a vegetarian devotee." Have you or are you a vegetarian? Thoughts?

I used to think about it, if only because of how inhumane some of the animals are killed, but meat is so tasty...I can't help it. :O( But I make it a policy to buy my stuff organic!

What else...hmmm....not much. Although I did send an email off to the ATO hiring people to see if I committed any big no-nos on my application that I need to watch out for next time.

Now, Tuesday doesn't have memes anymore! This is a sad, sad thing and is a lending cause of Short Entry Syndrome.

So have a quiz:

Your Colors Are Sweet

Your colors are soft and comforting baby blues, pinks, and purples.

You are a down to earth and kind person. You are happy to take care of others.

Your friends can count on you to be reliable and trustworthy. And you never let them down.

You are naturally kind and thoughtful. You truly like other people, and you give them the benefit of the doubt.

What? No greens? To Hell with you! But at least there's no orange...for a while I was having orange thrown at me - it was my house colour in High School and the colour of the faculty I graduated in. At least it was a nice orange I guess. But I remain scarred from the fact that after my parent's sold our house in Dubbo, the new owners painted my lovely pastel green bedroom, PUMPKIN ORANGE. But yes, the interview is good news! Especially as it says immediate start, so fingers and toes crossed.

Monday Movie Meme

This week's movie topic is all about Animation...

Share on your blog movies whose drawn, digitized or old school clay figures rock your world.

A number of Disney movies, particularly The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast which are my favourites.

I also have a soft spot for A Chipmunk Adventure! Around the world, come on.

The Incredibles kicked ass, of course. Although I haven't watched it ages, all my DVDs are packed up in a box, which sucks.

And let's see...can't reall think of any others, Who Framed Roger Rabbit was pretty good, but the last bit freaked me the fuck out.

Imagine you have a hundred dollars, but you couldn't keep it. You have to give it away to a person or charity. Who would you give it to? What would you want them to do with it?

Hmmm...that's not really a lot, but any amount is good for a charity though! I'd probably send it to Rwanda, it's pretty awful over there, but $100 should be able to buy a water pump or something for a small community.

If you could cook any meal for your friends or family, what would you cook?

Uh...lasagne! Because hey we all love lasagne don't we? I hope. :OP With salad and chocolate mousse for dessert, yum!

List 5 things you want to do in your life.

If so, which ones and why? (Include the URLs for people who aren’t familiar with them.)

Or, of course, there’s the flip side … did you even know that such a thing existed? (I ask because I know a lot of people who have no idea what a podcast is.)

I know about podcasts, but I don't really listen to them...interesting suggestion though! Maybe I should go looking for Agatha Christie related ones. They'd make for interesting listening.

10:52pm: Man, the week just flies...no wonder I never seem to have enough time to do stuff.

Moving right along, today was my interview in Ashfield and I think it went quite well, if I do say so myself! I wore my grey suit, a white shirt, one of my new necklaces and my little heeled shoes. Speaking of the latter they continue to be uncomfortable I got the beginnings of a blister on one of my toes!

Of course thta was because I had to do rather more walking then I planned because in getting ready this morning - I had to go to the beautician to get my face done as I said, I forgot my keys! So after all that I had to go to Chatswood to get my mother's keys. Sigh...pain in the ass that and a waste of Travel Tens! But since my brothers were nowhere in the area and Dad was at work there was nothing else I could do.

Hmmm, there's definitely a lack of memes on Tuesdays, so here's a very odd quiz...

Your Utah Name is KaChelle Ann-Toy

"I am the last leaf on the tree, and the wind is blowing."

They don't really have names like that in Utah do they? Yikes...

And that's all I have to say for now.

10:54pm: Ah I love watching Le Tour De France...all those bicycles...good times, good times.

In other news, I was remarkably lazy with looking for jobs today, but at the prompting of my father I did call up one possibility and now I have an interview tomorrow at 11:30am. I'll have to go and get my face waxed before I go though because my Maltese heritage has resulted in a moustache, it's a complete bitch.

What else? Ah yest I need to apply for that library job, probably call them too I suppose, since Dad thinks that's a good move and he's been right so far.

Don't have anything else to say, so here's the meme!

Monday Movie Meme

This week's movie topic is all about Antidotes for Boredom...

July is National Anti-Boredom month, and in honor of that, what are the movies you turn to when you're bored? You know... those movies that pull you in and keep you from feeling bored. Those movies that keep you focused and attentive no matter how many times you've seen them? If you're feeling bored, what movie(s) are you going to pop into the DVD player.

Back to the Future
of course!
Spaceballs
Flying High/Airplane!
Beauty and the Beast
Bridget Jones's Diary
and Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason

And pretty much all the movies I've got because that's why I bought them! But special mention to Family Guy: Blue Harvest and Something, Something Darkside.

The Sunday Seven

THIS WEEK’S QUESTION:

Name the seven Baskin Robbins flavors you’re most in the mood for this National Ice Cream Day.

Yummy!

1. Chocolate
2. Oreo Cookies and Cream
3. Vanilla
4. Gold Medal Ribbon
5. Chocolate Mousse Royale
6. Icing on the Cake
7. Chocolate Fudge.

Man what a fabulous idea - must rememer to have an ice cream this Saturday, LOL!

Righto, must be off, Captain John calls!

Interview!

Jul. 6th, 2010 10:27 pm
anonymoose_au: (Ants At a Picnic)
10:18pm: Yes indeed! How exciting! It was for a dental surgery just down the road (to be a receptionist, no assisting with looking in people's mouths or stuff like that). I think it went pretty well considering my irritable bowel continued to be irritable, bloody annoying that is! It seems to have settled down (knock on wood), so I'll need to decide what day to go to the library. I must remember to return that book I borrowed all that time ago.

Not much else to report except the damn dog crapped in the house even though I left the door to the back open! WTF?! That's disgusting! I don't leave that door open for the fun of it.

I should do more RPGing! I keep getting distracted and forgetting, tsk. And rememeber to make several important phone calls tomorrow! Time is slipping away.

Huh...no memes today, Tuesday I do dispair of you! But here's a quiz instead.

You Have a Mischievous Smile

You smile even when you shouldn't be smiling. You have a very playful smile.

You always have some sort of private joke going on, even if you're the only one in on it.

You can't help but see the irony in life. You have a lot to smile (and smirk) about.

People might think that you smile at unusual times. You can't help it... you find the humor in everything!

Mischevious! I don't know about that...I think I have a more goofy smile, but then these quizzes are a hit and miss affair.

Well! That's all I have to say right now. Might be able to get some RPGing in tonight after all!

11:01pm: Well the weather's gone straight to winter this week! It was bloody freezing this morning...

OK, I lie, it wasn't, at least not in my suburb, but it was still damn cold! And it's still cold, I've had to put socks on because my poor feet were chilly! I'm very glad that I've got fannel pjs these days.

In other news, hope continues on the job front! It looks like I was right after all and those new people being trained were from April, not June, so there's still a chance for me! Come on, me!

My knee hurts, most annoying.

Not much else to report, oh I got my watch fixed - the one that's not M's - so that's good. :O) It keeps time very well and is big (it's actually a man's watch), so I won't have to squint to figure out what the time is, LOL.

And now, the Meme:

Monday Movie Meme

This week's movie topic is all about Heroines...

Share on your blog women characters from film who know how to save the day.

Princess Vespa from Spaceballs - well...kinda...
Princess Jasmine from Aladdin - she distracted Jafar well enough.

And there's probably others, but I can't think of them at the minute.

Oh crap...my laptop's graphics card just took a dive and I had to restart! Right in the middle of playing The Sims 3! I suppose it's my laptop telling me I'm spending too much time on that game. All the same though, it rather wastes time since it wouldn't have saved. :O( Lame.

Anywho, it's almost 11:30 and once again bed calls, although it looks like I won't be seeing Little Lleyton out on the court at Wimbledon.

10:23pm: Indeed, Australia has joined the other countries out there with our first female prime minister! Sadly though it did come at the expense of old Kevin Rudd, who cried when he had to make his stepping-down speech. Poor guy, that was mean!

In other news, I rang up those people who interviewed me for the ongoing ATO job, and they told me they were still considering candidates, which is quite different from what I heard on the office gossip mill. Who knows, I ask you?

Speaking of work, it was a bit of schmoozle today when cross communication led me to do a whole lot of stuff that as it turned out I didn't need to do. Well, damn me, that was a fuck up. On the pluse side I get paid still, LOL.

Not much else to report except that there's this EPIC tennis game going on at Wimbledon due to the rules that the winner has to be two points up no matter how high the score goes!

And now Meme time! )

11:03pm: My mother can be so annoying! For example she's on a clothing kick at the moment - and she's made me put on all these gloves, scarfs and shirts that she brought. Now it's really nice of her to get them, but I had to go to an interview this evening and so didn't get home until late! Laaaame!

Anyway, I did get some Simming done, but then everything went kind of ugly, so I've had to do a redo, what a waste! :O(

Hmmm, well no Memes today, that's a shame...but then again I feel most sleeping, so it's good to be able to turn in, even if it does cause short entry syndrome.

Ah well, hopefully, I'll have more to report tomorrow.

10:48pm: The news is full of the fact that if the election was held right now the Liberal Party would get back in. With its leader...who is like George Bush and Sarah Palin wrapped up in one package. If this actually happened I would die of humilation. I mean holy shit, how stupid would we have to be to vote him in. Might as well shoot ourselves in the foot while we're at it.

In other news, I was most let down by an email I recieved today from my old school, where I applied to be a library assistant and I didn't even get an interview! Weak! I enjoyed my time at school, dang it, you could have given me a look in!

Hmmm...the memes are quite lacking today...but here's an interesting interests collage thingo!

Your interests intrigue me, and I would like to subscribe to your newsletter! )

And of course this meme generator thing I went to after seeing it on [livejournal.com profile] docsgirl's page:

1. Who would win in a duel, George McFly or Captain Jack Harkness? And what kind of duel would they pick, anyway?

LMAO! George is going doooown, Jack would shoot him through the heart with his webley before George can make a break for it. Why the Hell they'd even be having a duel... George would be excited as Hell to meet someone from the 51st century!

2. What's Hermione Granger's opinion on cheese?

Hermione's given her opinion on many things over the years, but as far as I can recall, cheese wasn't one of them. Just as long as it wasn't brought by house elves I think she'd be more than happy with it.

3. Who would you rather get stuck in handcuffs with, Hercule Poirot or George McFly?

Well, George and I could talk about writing and stuff! But Poirot would probably have us out of said handcuffs almost before we've got them on...so...him because I hate been trapped.

4. Who would you rather get stuck in handcuffs with, Penelope Clearwater or Percy Weasley?

Hmmm...well I think Penny would have a better sense of humour about it...plus either one of them could 'alohamora' us out...but I would like to see how I could put up with Percy's pompousness in person so maybe him for a brief period.

5. Who would win in a duel, Lorraine Baines or Captain John Hart? And what kind of duel would they pick, anyway?

LMAO! Dear me! Lorraine would be out faster than George was. Probably courtsey of that paralysing lipgloss.
But over what? Yet again I wouldn't have a clue...unless Lorraine had a stash of platbars...

6. What do you think of Ron Weasley?

I love Ron! He's loyal, he's funny...he's smart. Sure he can be a pain in the arse, but then so can we alll. I can roll with it..

7. In a race between you, Captain John Hart and Percy Weasley, who would win?

Pft, I'd be right out of it, I can't run for shit. Or come up with a clever way to cheat...
Percy would be able to use a disapparation, so he could win on that...John has the wrist strap, but I understand they're a bit wonky, so Percy probably would win.

8. Would you open a mystery gift Captain Jack Harkness just gave you, without much hesitation?

Why do I have the phrase 'Dick in a box' in mind? But hey I'm game...

9. What do you think about Percy Weasley?

He's a pompous, misguided git, but he's our pompous, misguided git. Plus that whole secret romance thing adds intrigue to the whole thing! :OD

10. Would you marry Harry Osborn?

Sorry Harry no...he's just too mentally unstable. If he got some psychological help maybe...but yeah, I'm not really the marrying kind.

Righto, better get myself to bed, I don't think I've been getting enough zzzzs in the week and that's no good for me!

11:41pm: My mother has sources (who I'm not sure) who have alerted her to some job opportunities related to libraries and there's a big one! A part time Library Assistant job at my old school!

This is rather exciting because as a nerd I rather enjoyed my time at school, and the school library was where my friends and I used to spend our lunch time. Plus I got on well with the librarians - I wonder if they're still there? Plus, since they're my alma mater that's sure to give me a leg up...I hope.

Anywho! I must apply directly tomorrow! Once I call the other library I volunteer at and see if I should come in.

I had a it of an unpleasant surprise tonight after work when I arrived at Town Hall to find the trains to North Sydney weren't running! Thanks for mentioning this on Friday, guys, fortunately I was able to recall that one of the buses that comes from Town Hall goes by the station a few minutes before my usual bus home so I caught that and got home in good time.

This Week Is All About Dancing

Share on your blog your favorite dance scenes from the movies.

The dance scenes from the BTTF movies! First there's Earth Angel with the whole Marty's fading angle, then there's Johnny B Goode, which is just hilarious.

The dance in Grease especially the dance competiton.

The climatic dance scene from Dirty Dancing - "No-one puts Baby in the corner!"

The Ball in Emma - Mr. Knightly = hawt.

Anywho! I best be off since I want to get to bed before the clock ticks over.

Seriously...look what they did to this poor couple and their guide dog. I'm also amused by the fact that this story was first published in a Chicago newspaper...I assume the couple must have been American, otherwise...well that'd have to be a super slow news day.

In further news there was a big brawl in the Russian parliament, that's rather amusing, since usually you only see Asian and South American parliaments pulling that shit. Fortunately no-one was hurt, but they really went all out bring eggs and even a smoke bomb, all for nought though, the bill they were protesting got put through after all.

My interview went well this morning, only problem, there's a lot of interest in the job...especially since it's part time with great hours for working mothers and students etc. I hope I have a chance at it, especially since I was a bit late...I was the first person interviewed though! I wonder if that's good or bad...

Because of the interview I didn't go to the Library this afternoon, which was probably for the best because I felt rather dodgy this morning, I woke up with a sore throat. I ate a mandarin though, so come on Vitamin C!

I've still got that pimple...but Dad found the anti-pimple cream for me - I don't know where he hid it, so hopefully the damn thing will disappear soon.

Tomorrow is the training and I kind of forgot to practice with the numeric keyboard - on Dad's computer since the laptop doesn't have one. I'm rather worried about those test scores from the data entry test I did online...it was a totally shit result. If I don't end up getting said job I'll be pretty fucked let me tell you.

And now, Memes!

Manic Monday

26/4/10

If you could write your own bill of rights, what would you include?

That greenhouse gas reduction schemes are a human right and must be implemented immediately, I'm sick of this screwing around.

What is going on in the world today that affects you the most?

To be honest, I'm surprised that France is planning to ban the Hajib outright. I think that's screwed up. I mean, some women feel more comfortable wearing it and they should be able too, I mean what's next? Banning loose shirts? Some people don't like showing everything off - like myself for one! Badly done, France!

What do you think is the secret to a good life?

Enjoy what you have!

Or Meme rather.

10:32pm: Yes indeed, but I forgot to call the Librarian last week to say I'd be coming in late, so now I'm going to have to give her like three seconds notice tomorrow. Well, OK, not three seconds, but still.

This is for an Office Assistant in an architectural firm, which sounds very interesting, I love house plans and things like that! Plus the building looks pretty damn fabulous - at least from the company's website.

I've got a pimple, damnit, and I can't find the anti-pimple cream...this is most annoying... I'll need to find some way to hide if tomorrow.

For now though...Memes!

Monday Movie Meme

This week's movie topic is all about Narrators...

Share on your blog your favorite Freeman narrated film, in addition to others that speak to you (haha).

I've never seen a film narrated by Morgan Freeman, so I'll skip that.

Bridge Jones's Diary - well, a fair bit of it is narrated by Bridget Jones - Renee Zwelleger and she does a damn find job of it.

And that's all I can think of, I generally don't watch narrated films...show don't tell!

Hmmm, or Meme it would seem.

anonymoose_au: (You Get a Job!)
11:25pm: Well! Interesting news people, this morning I got a call from one of those temp agencies I'd applied for a job through inviting me in for an interview and so forth in Chatswood. Whilst I was there though, the person interviewing me mentioned that their City Branch has 100 temporary data entry positions in the offing at the moment.

So! It looks like I have a job! The weird thing is though, is the hours, 6pm - 11pm Monday to Friday! I hope I'll be OK with that, luckily the buses are pretty good even at that hour. Mum has advised me to take it, and I suppose I better. If it was really awful, I could quit or get myself fired or something, LOL. But fingers and toes crossed that it goes all right.

In other news, regarding Oxfam Shop I got a nasty shock when I called up today to see if I was needed and discovered the shop manager has been transferred! Just like that. :O( Now there's a new older shop manager, who seems nice enough and has given me a shift to do tomorrow, but still how lame is that? I really liked the first shop manager too. Change sucks.

Anyway I better get myself to bed because I need to get back to those Temp people early and also get to work by 10am (which isn't really a hardship, but getting up at 9am won't give me enough time).

So here's the Meme:

"I Want..." Wednesday

This weeks question is:

What do you WANT from your boss/job?

LOL, funny you should ask that...I guess I just want any job I can get...although having a job with a nice boss would be most appreciated.
