11:17pm: Yes indeed! Today was the long awaited outing with my friends to see Inside Out 2, the only annoying thing was I had trouble getting my car into a parking spot and as a result I got to see the bus I needed to catch to drive passed as I stood at the traffic lights to cross the road.

Which concerned me because the friends and I had agreed to meet up before the movie as my friend Ben had to leave right after it finished and I wondered if I'd miss it. Fortunately, the next bus wasn't long in coming, so I got to Chatswood in good time and we met up at a cafe although I didn't actually order anything, because dang me, stuff's expensive these days!

My friend Tina had bought along her boyfriend, who was actually at the cafe when I got there, but I couldn't remember what he looked like so I didn't realise, whoops.

So the movie session was at 11:45am, but we were about ten minutes later than that and there was still a wait for it to actually begin! Sooo many previews these days.

But yeah, it wasn't quite as epic as the first movie, but that's often how it goes, but it was a pretty good movie and funny :O) in fact I was most bummed to realise that now Disney isn't making DVDs for the Aussie market anymore how I'm supposed to get a hold of it. Boo, hiss.

After the movie ended and Ben had hurried off so he wouldn't have to pay for parking, Tina, her boyfriend and I went for lunch. We went to a Hong Kong Street Food place, which was interesting although I had no idea what to order and I didn't want to spend too much. I ended up getting a rice noodle roll, which I'd never had before and was rather yummy except it also included peanut sauce, I am not a fan of peanuts lemme tell you. It was also super filling so I had to bring half of it home in a takeway container.

We went our separate ways after lunch, I was hoping to find some boots especially since the sale at Myer was about to end, but alas no luck there. Annoying...

Right, so it's coming up to twenty to midnight and I do have work tomorrow, so I better do the meme and hit the hay!

The Friday Five

23/2/2024

These questions were written by amguynes on LJ.

What is the name of...

1. Your favorite book?
Ooo, a toughie for sure...If I really have to choose... Adrian Mole from Minor to Major (which actually includes 3 Adrian Mole books, but hey it's published that way :OP)

2. Your favorite movie? There can only be one Back to the Future. :O)

3. Your least favorite adaptation of a book to a movie? My least favourite? Uh...hmm...not sure to be honest. I can't think of a really awful one off the top of my head.

4. Your least favorite adaptation ever of anything to a movie? Hmm...I'm kinda curious as to how they made a movie out of Tetris but I'm gonna assume it was about the development of said game?

5. Your first ever novel/comic book/movie character crush? Hmm...well it's either Jonathan Firth as Prince Albert in Victoria and Albert or Colin Firth as Mr Darcy in Pride & Prejudice or Jamie Bamber as Archie Kennedy in Hornblower. I watched all of those around the same time and I can't remember which came first now!

Goodnight!

Day Off!

Oct. 18th, 2016 11:46 pm

11:31pm: Yes! Which was pretty cool, although I've had days off here and there before, this is the beginning of my new work schedule so it was special.

Anyway, I didn't actually go to bed when I said I would so I set my alarm later, but I still got to the gym before Mum came to pick me up to go to the movies. Although I didn't time things quite right so I didn't have a chance to have a shower, whoops. I really wish I had better time keeping skills...

But the movie Bridget Jones's Baby was great! Really funny. I have to admit I was a bit worried after seeing a less than glowing review of it on ABC 24, but you can't really trust critics a lot of the time can you? I mean they thought The Matrix was amazeballs :OP and my personal opinion was that it sucked! I have to say they had some flashback scenes in the movie and gee you can see how much older the actors are. Time is a cruel mistress. :OP

After the movie Mum and I went to the restaurant in the cinema complex where I shared a plate of very yummy chips with Mum while she had garlic prawns. We had planned to have pizza, but first of all they didn't serve it until dinner time and secondly, no pizzas with pineapple on it! How rude! There's been a lot of anti-pineapple on pizza sentiment lately. :OP

Well, I've left updating a little too late so I'll have to be off now so I can get a proper amount of zzzs!

Oh and I almost forgot! I got a choc-top ice cream at the movies too, always yummy, although one does always end up having to eat it before the movie even starts, LOL. Well worth it though.

Goodnight all!

9:46pm: Yes, after missing the actual US release date of 3rd July, I went on IMDB and found out that 15th August 1985 was the day the movie was released down under, so I made the decision to watch the first movie on this day. And I managed not to forget either so here I am watching it! Hopefully, I've managed to synch it up some the big lightning strike will happen at 10:04, but I'm not sure the internet gave me the right time.

I'm up to the part where Marty is (over) rocking out to Johnny Be Good, LOL...I love this movie I really do. I've even got my shirt that I had printed. I'm very proud of it, since I created the collage in Photoshop all on my own, although I'm not sure I should have put that 20th Anniversary bit in there, ah well.

Hmm, the Clocktower scene has begun and there's still 12 minutes 'til 10:04! But Doc just said there's only 7 minutes and 34 seconds left! Movie time has lied to us again it would seem. :OP

And yes I'm watching as I type, the benefits of learning to touch type, I heartily recommend all youth do it!

In un-BTTF related news, today was skating day! Although I wasn't sure if I was going to get there in time because for some reason the traffic really sucks on one of the roads I need to take to get to Macquarie. I have no idea why because it just disappears at a certain point, I didn't think that many people turned off. Anyway, the good news is I got into the actual skating rink with a minute to spare, so I threw on my skates and went out there.

I'm pleased to say I'm doing much better on the ice, but I swear I'm never going to be able to go backwards, why were skating moves all developed with the person going backwards? What's up with that? Seems a bit counter-intitutive.

Aaah, I think I've done something wrong here...it's 9:57 and Marty's just taken off a bit late to hit the wire...somehow I've lost four minutes? Or is that gained four minutes? Rude! Should I pause so I can celebrate the big moment? That'll ruin the suspense, but then that's the whole point of this exercise!

So I have.

But seriously the webpage I went to categorically told me to start the movie at 8:23 and 14 seconds! That was the Blu-Ray release, and I'm watching the regular DVD version, but I don't recall 4 whole extra minutes been stuck in the blu-ray version at any rate. Hmpf, I guess I'll have to try again on 5th of November at 8:27 and 14 seconds.

Anyway, I won't do memes, because it's hard to do that and watch a movie at the same time, plus my eyes are dry and I have to blink a lot.

So! On that note I shall update this entry celebrating the greatest movie of all time at 10:04pm precisely!

For now, goodnight!

11:36pm: In this movie I'm watching, seriously it's creepy and even worse than the sort you usually get when watching Diagnosis Murder or Murder She Wrote or Death in Paradise, you know where they have someone murdered in the intro and then suddenly "Do de do do do de do!"

Also this movie has distracted me and now it's nearly midnight and I haven't even done the memes! Or written about ice skating today. Good times were had! Although I saw a girl there skating with a broken arm, or at least one in a sling. Sounds like a bad move, but she seemed OK as far I saw, but there certainly were a lot of people falling over. Despite the fact that no-one seemed too hurt by all this, but I'm still too afraid to fall over myself! I ask myself though, why is so much proper skating done backwards, I can't go backwards the balance for it is all different. Took me long enough to get balance right in the forwards direction, LOL.

Also despite the time constraints of this entry I did manage to get everything I needed to do done today - like returning Mrs S's hats and picking up the laptop desk - although the hats didn't work out quite right because it's been more than two months, whoops, so now we have to wait until Monday when the office staff are back in and can do it.

Righto, time is short so off I go!

11:02pm: Flight that is, the movie a couple of years back about an aircrash, or at least that's what the ad indicated, but to be honest except for the bulk of the movie between the start and the end where it was mostly BS about drug taking and boozing. What sort of operation is the airline involved in the film if drug taking boozing pilots are allowed to fly? Sure are a lot of lying liars who lie in this film too, although I suppose the truth comes out in the end. But really its hard to get over that one glaring inaccuracy about a drunk drugged-up pilot. At least one hopes it's a glaring inaccuracy!

In other news, speaking of fly...that fly from yesterday is still in here and there's another one, God damn! I've tried spraying them with insect spray as I've said, but the damn things won't die! So irritating, that stuff worked fine on ants, but I guess flies are more resistant. Plus I'm rather leery of spraying too much of that stuff around in case it ends up all over my plates and whatnot. But damn they're so irritating, go way you little bastards!

Anyway! I had an interesting evening, about an hour before setting off for church, my friend Ben sent me a message on Facebook wanting to know if I was doing anything and since I wasn't aside from church I went over to his place for dinner and to watch the Flight movie, although we gave up on it, so there's like 30 minutes I didn't even see! :OP Good times!

Although the rain continues and I ended up taking the car, it proved to be rather nerve wracking at a few points especially when driving to Ben's house, it started pouring at a few points and I was going about 45km an hour. But I got there - and back here to the flat - in the end so it isn't all bad.

Ben also looked over my Statement Against the Selection Criteria for the library job, he says it's good, but I should probably make a few of the sentences because they're convoluted. So I guess I'll do that tomorrow before sending it off. I hope the fact that I sent it on Sunday rather than Friday as I said I would over the phone won't be a mark against me!

Anyway, I'll do some memes before I wrap this up )

11:14pm: I've been to a movie. But it was a good choice what with Colin Firth been in it, also I got to have a small popcorn, yummy! Oh and the two for one deal, too, so I got to go with Mum.

Anyway, it was any rather good movie, although Colin Firth might have been channeling Mr Darcy a bit too much at the ending. However...I do love Mr. Darcy so that's not a real downside, LOL. Although I wasn't entirely sure what the message of the movie was meant to be, but then maybe it didn't have one, not all movies are deep an meaningful and all that. It was set in France, although there was only one instance of a person speaking French in it! But then as Mum pointed out a lot of English and American people holidayed in France in the late 20s which was when the film was set.

So yes, an enjoyable evening to add to a successful day what with having to pick up Dad from his doctor's appointment and taking him to Aldi before heading to the library. However, I think I need to hide Dad's advice about putting the parking break on when stopped at traffic lights for a fair amount of time, because my legs hurt now. Although, I guess that could be because that time o' the month is coming, damn hormones.

Also, I'm not actually reporting from the parental abode because a cleaner is coming there tomorrow at 8:45am and be damned if I'm waking up that early on a Saturday! Plus I bought some stuff at Aldi - including a mop and bucket that would have been quite hard to get home on the bus which was the original plan. So Mum kindly went via the parental house for me to pick that up before dropping me off here at the Granny Flat.

The only thing I haven't done today is have a decent dinner, bit late for that now though, so instead I'll just do the Memes and wrap this up.

Follow Friday Four Fill-Ins

The statements:

1. I was 8 years old when I first starting writing stories, good times, good times.

2. Green grapes are my favourite fruit.

3.
The extra daylight is my favorite part of summer

4.
Reading helps me relax.

The (Other) Friday Five

1. Have you ever finished eating in a restaurant, and you realized you forgot your wallet? Thankfully no! I have arrived at a restaurant and stood in line only to discover just before being served that I've forgotten it, and that sucks.

2. Have you ever eaten something that you thought you wouldn't like, but found out that you actually liked it? Well, I have been to an African restaurant and a Thai one where I found I quite enjoyed the food, much to my surprise!

3. How do you handle an obnoxious diner? I'm relieved to say I've never encountered one.

4. Would you tip differently for fabulous service and marginal food or marginal service and fabulous food? Well, as an Australian it's not actually necessary to tip, although it is polite, but I'm not what you'd call a big tipper. I probably would tip in both those situations, I only wouldn't if the service was really bad or the food tasted like crap.

5. How often do you go out to a real restaurant? I am poor and quite boring so not a lot. Like...once every three months, maybe less.

Righto, the Friday5 seems to have disappeared for good, which is terrible! I really liked that one, but there's not much one can do I guess.

And that's all I have to say about that.

11:12pm: So I'm watching the Crime & Investigation Network at the moment and apparently (at least when this doco was made) in Kentucky when you file for divorce you're supposed to state on your petition the last time you and your spouse had sex. WTF, Kentucky?! Are you a bunch of perverts? How is that anyone's business?

Weird shit, I tell you.

Anyway, it's TGIF! And I alllmost finished the archiving today, I got halfway through the 'Y's and I actually considered staying back late to finish up, but nah. Of course that's only the biggest section, there's also this other small section that I have to do and the boxes are seriously taking over. Oh well, I have mentioned that we need the maintenance men to come around and take them away so I guess they'll be out of the way soon.

And tonight for dinner I had fish, except I really need to learn how to cook that properly, I think I had the frying pan too hot, because when I put it on it sizzled like crazy and now there's like a thin film of fish stuck on the pan. Do'h!

Aside from that...not much else to report, so I should meme and run I think.

At the Movies

1. Where in the theater do you like to sit when you’re at the movies? Somewhere in the middle in the centre, you can see the screen best that way, at least that's my understanding.

2. What characteristics does the ideal movie companion have? Uh...I dunno...They can put up with me I guess? LMAO.

3. What memory do you have of things not going quite as usual at the movies? Well, once my mother and I went to see a movie about fairies and unbeknowst to me there was this little girl in the front row who shrieked on and off for half the movie. I didn't realise she was even there so for most of the film I thought there was a weird shrieking backing track!

4. What are your feelings about commercials and movie previews playing before the film you’re there to see? Well, as a pepetually late person I'm quite glad for them, it means I can be up to 10 minutes late for the movie and not even miss anything!

5. Who is an actor or director whose involvement in a film is enough to make you want to see it? Gee. I'm not sure...I'm a huge cheapskate so I don't even go to movies all that often. Although I'd definitely go and see any film with Colin Firth in it, unless it was a gore film. I'm not going to see anything like that.

Or meme rather, man, I remember when Friday was the Meme day! Ah well, at least it means I don't have to rush to wrap up this entry before midnight.

I shall be off now though, see you on the other side!

11:50pm: I should be doing NaNo, but what did I do today? Worked on Arthur's journal, I got the dates the way I like them, so that was a big success, but I did a grand total of like a hundred words. Fail!

But it was also my friend's birthday today so this evening I went over to her house and we had dinner and watched Fright Night the remake, which had David Tennant, aka Dr. Who! It was pretty hilarious seeing him play the part of an aging rocker with his Scottish accent going and everything.

I feel bad though, I didn't get her a present or even took up my mother's suggestion and get her some flowers, shame on me. Whoops. Anyway, good times, good times.

Now it's getting late so I'll just do the NaNo Meme and run.

Day 1 - Have you participated in NaNoWriMo before? If so, which years and what end result? If not (or even if so, for that matter), what’s your connection to writing? Why do you want to participate this year?

Day 2 - What’s the title of your story? Why did you choose the name you did?

Day 3 - Pick one of your female characters. Introduce your readers to her, from her point of view and her words only.

Day 4 - What genre is your novel? Why did you pick it?

Day 5 - Name two songs from your playlist that you feel are connected with your novel in some way, and explain how they are.

Day 6 - What is your one biggest stressor related to forcing yourself to write at least 50,000 words in a span of 30 days?

Day 7 - Where’s your favorite place to hunker down and write?

Day 8 -List your current, most up-to-date word count. Are you satisfied with your progress thus far?

Day 9 - Have you told anyone else you’re doing NaNo this year? Who? What was their reaction?

Day 10 - How does your love of writing manifest in non-NaNo months?

Day 11 - Ever tried collaborative writing (such as play-by-post roleplaying)? If so, what do you think of it?

Day 12 - Imagine you’re behind in your word count goals (even if you’re not) and are going to pull an all-nighter to catch up. Screencap a playlist of inspirational music you would use to get you up to speed.

Well I don't really do the playlist thing with my stories, and there's not enough time to screen cap it! But I do have the Merlin soundtrack, which I keep forgetting to listen to! So I'd play that! Here's the soundtrack listing for it.

And all the rest )

Right off I go, and here's hoping I'll catch up with NaNo tomorrow!

9:18pm: While I was driving to the cinema this afternoon I took my glasses off to give them a clean and discovered that at some point the right nose pad has disappeared so the thing that holds it in is digging into the side of my nose. Which really pisses me off. Plus I have no idea where I lost it...I guess the screw must have become loose.

Mum assured me though that I'll be able to get it fixed quickly, I hope she's right because I don't have my old pair with me and even if I did they're no longer strong enough and give me headaches.

Anywho, about the movie, it didn't have subtitles in it, I must have misread. We also went to the 6:10 showing at the Roseville Cinema and Mum was late so we missed the first few minutes of it, which I think might have been sort of important. It was an odd movie actually, not the best I've seen Colin Firth act. He was much better in the Bridget Jones films in my opinion.

Still, it was a good movie and not obscenely long as some are these days. It was interesting to see Helen Hunt after all these years, she looks pretty much the same, although interestingly enough she didn't wear any makeup during the film. First actress (or actor for that matter) I've heard who's done that!

Moving on, I just got a review for my fanfic which is highly confusing...I have no idea what the person is talking about. They've reviewed before and usually I can make sense of what they're getting at... I guesss English isn't their first language or something.

Anyway...have some Memes! )

Damn, I just realised that I forgot to bring my swimmers with me - there's a heated pool at the retirement complex where my grandparents live. Do'h.

In other news, I is tired, I may turn in unusually early for me on a Friday, which is probably a good thing as I want to get to M and Grandpa's relatively early tomorrow.

With that, I shall bid you all goodnight.

9:19pm: I really need to empty my recycling bin before I go to bed though, since there's enough space for paper in the bins.

Speaking of sleep, I've had the weirdest dreams the last two nights. On Tuesday, I dreamed I went back to my old school and someone was getting assualted or killed or some shit for information and two of my classmates and I were running around looking for our science class like this was all usual stuff. Say wha-?

In last night's dream I went skiing with [livejournal.com profile] missnickers and [livejournal.com profile] foxywriter except I didn't have any skis so I had to get some, but they didn't come with poles :Oo And typically when I finally did get my skis the damn snow disappeared, that pissed me off.

In other news, a girl I used to school with was in the Sydney Morning Herald yesterday having been named as Social Worker of the Year.

Congrats to her! But I can't imagine doing that kind of stuff or getting into the paper. I mean I don't even have a business card! (Nearly all my friends do)

Well, one day I might be a famous writer...or at least have something published, in the meantime I can be happy that my Robotech fanfic has got such a good response from the readership. I posted Chapter 48 after doing some pruning. Good times, good times.

Tomorrow evening my mother and I are planning to see the new Colin Firth movie, which I just had to look up the name of. And Then She Found Me - which apparently has some Hewbrew in it and thus subtitles, that reminds me that for some strange reason I purchased a Hewbrew Phrase Book planning to use it for a story. I never did though.

OK, I've emptied the recycling bin and am very relieved indeed, now it's time to fill it up with more stuff. I've gotta get this place cleaned up! I've definitely got the makings in my of a compulsive hoarder and as previously mentioned I don't care for being on A Current Affair.

Anywho, let's have some Memes )

Right, I better head to bed now, but before I do I better get my Birth Certificate ready for tomorrow and also get together my Stanton Library books so I ccan return them and not get fined like whoa.

It's been a good day I even got some shopping down and had rice for dinner, except I neglected to buy more Stain Remover and washing powder, will have to make sure I do that next time.

And now I bid you all good night.

Cripes, some of those are too easy! But others are pretty hard, sooo...give it your best shot! :OP

Come on, you know you want to do it! ;O)

In other news I had THE most whacked dream last night! I went to bed really late since I got caught up in playing The Sims 2, so that might have had something to do with it. Anywho, yesterday I collected some Sweet Valley books (that I didn't have) from a nice woman who lives just 'round the corner. Total coincidence she lived there because I saw the books offered for sale on LJ. So anyway in my dream I was in her apartment and just stayed there. WTF? She came home and was pretty confused and told me off, although for some reason later on in the dream I went back and did the same thing!

After that, I decided to go to Jamacia or something for some reason, except it wasn't Jamacia because it was snowing or something like that...And when the time came for me to leave, I couldn't get off! I couldn't find the right airport and then I kept missing the planes, and then I didn't have enough money so I had to ring my mother and have her send me some. I thought about going via Ireland on my way home, but I kept changing my mind...

Eventually I ended up on the flight back to Sydney except their were these two murders on the plane or at least we thought they were murderers, the whole thing sort of turned into a Cold Case flashback affair.

And twice in the dream I was awoken by my mother calling my apartment, but when I sat up to answer the phone, it would stop, and my thighs would also hurt so I'd just flop back down and go back to sleep. But this morning when I got up (at 1pm no less!) I discovered Mum had left two messages on my answering machine. WTF?

In other news, today I have to vote, so I should go check the Sydney Morning Herald website to see what the candidates are standing for so I can make an informed choice. That being the case I better stop updating this as I also have to check movie times for the new film that's coming out that Mum has two tickets to an Advanced screening too, Becoming Jane. I am most looking forward to it, except for the gentlemen's hairstyles, what's with that messy hair look?

Anywho, ta ta for now!

6:07pm: Music meme! Rules: List 10 songs that begin with the letter given to you and explain why you picked them. If you want to play, ask and I shall give you a letter.

I'm gonna do this music meme here, [livejournal.com profile] missnickers gave me the letter 'T' (I would have laughed my ass off if it had been the letter 'h'...Colin and Ryan on Whose Line heh heh heh).

Anywho bring it in no particular order:

The Messiah- Halleujah Chorus- Handel (Seriously, I love this peice, download it and try not to conduct to it!)

Tubthumping- Chumbawamba (I drink a whiskey drink, I drink a cider drink, I drink a larger drink...I sing the songs that remind me of the good times, I sing the songs that remind me of the better times.)

This Used to Be My Playground- Madonna (I quite like this song, first heard it watching A League of My Own)

There She Goes- The Corrs (Not sure who sings it originally, but I like this version)

Tainted Love- Soft Cell (This is so a song my little bro would normally listen too, but I actually liked it so I got it for myself. :O)

Take a Look at Me Now- Phil Collins (Yeah, I like Phil, wanna fight about it? ;O)

Time After Time- Cyndi Lauper (I like this song... heard it while watching Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion)

Teardrop- Massive Attack (This was one of the songs played on Cold Case, I really liked that one so I downloaded it. :O)

The Right Time- The Corrs (Haven't listened to this in ages actually, but I've got the CDs with me now. :O) I love all The Corrs songs, they're a great band!)

That's The Way (I like it) (Who sings this...I don't actually have it on my laptop or anything! But it's a good song to nodd your head to, LOL!)

And that's all I've gotta for now...because I was going to do it at my parents house, but I didn't have my laptop and therefore playlist with me, so I couldn't remember the songs!

I went to see Miss Potter with Mum and Dad, it was really good, except for these kids who started screaming and yelling and running about for no apparent reason, which made some guy shout in the parents of the kids's general direction.

Anywho, I'm going to see if I can find that House Design program because while dreaming last night I remembered that I have it and it would really help me in making house designs for my Simmies.

Right, off I go!

PS. Oh shit, I forgot 20 to 1 was on! I've missed half of it...damn...Why they changed the day it was on after one week is a mystery to me! Hmpf...well maybe they'll bring it out on DVD...or repeat it, it's a fun show!

11:02pm: Renee Zwellegier is on at the moment and she found a picture of Jay looking...I dunno like some sort of 70s Porn Star. LOL! Hilarious!

That reminds me, Renee Zwellegier is in this new movie about Beatrix Potter (who I have to mention based two of her characters on George III and Queen Charlotte), but if I can get off my ass I'll probably go see it with M, it sounds good.

Anyway, Memes please!

Sunday Seven

THIS WEEK'S QUESTION:

Name seven celebrities whom you'd be happy to go a year without hearing another word about.

1. OJ Simpson (is he still counted as a celebrity? Either way he's a shit.)
2. Paris Hilton
3. Tom Cruise
4. Michael Jackson
5. Mel Gibson

And that's all I can think of, on the whole I don't really care which celebrities are mentioned. Well except maybe Steve Irwin in terms of how he died. Everytime he's mentioned they say "Steve Irwin- killed by a stingray"- no shit.

Hmm, well the Monday ones aren't up yet...but I did this quiz yesterday.

You Passed High School with an D

You have the brains of a high school graduate... at least!

I'm offended! For the quiz's information I got 92.25 overall in my HSC, also this quiz was highly US-centric and one of the Maths type questions was too lame for words.

Well, I woke up earlier than planned this morning, so I be tired. It's probably a good thing I did because I ended up been 15 minutes late for my pyschiatrist's appointment, do'h! Sigh, I was on such a good roll after the last time.

Well, the Pyschiatrist says that the Library course is a good idea, as well as my parents leaving for 9 months sniff! He's also gonna see if he can help me out with the emetophobia, and has promised it won't involve looking at gross pictures or whatnot...

But yes, I be tired, so I shall retire. Good night all!

Oh incidentally, my mother did call me up, but I was out at Centrelink so didn't get it...and then I forgot, well, I'll do it tomorrow after the interview so I don't have to lie...well not exactly. :OP

11:14pm: Well actually it's my knee...stupid thing... I dunno what the deal is with that.

Anyway! I've got my mood theme done, doesn't it look good now with the little 3D button effect? Good oh! Although I've got 106 pictures but there's 132 moods so I've been trying to find some more...but you know you're not likely to find a lot of paintings of angry royalty, LOL!

Anyway! Today we went to see Happy Feet, it was a lot of fun, a lot of singing! And all the penguins, awwww...so cute! I love those penguins! Although I sensed some sort of dislike toward religion or something...werid.

But yes, very good movie and afterwards M took Mum and me out for lunch. I had ham, lettuce and cheese, good stuff! And a side of chips, yum!

Then Mum and I went via the library so I could return the library books I'd dragged to the parentals yesterday (it's only half of them though...) and then I had to sit in the car while Mum looked at second hand cars because she's thinking of trading in our two cars to buy a Prius. Of course I had my emergency book with me so all was well. :O)

Anywho! Memes! )

Owww, I need to get me my knee brace, my knee is really beginning to hurt like a bitch. Also it's midnight so I better get my ass to bed.

I really need to investigate getting a new control key, this broken one of mine is really beginning to piss me off.

All right then, goodnight!

3. Last film I watched.

The Madness of George III

4. Five films that I watch a lot or that mean a lot to me (in no particular order).

Back to the Future- My favoutire film! I just love everything about it, perfect example of story telling and whatnot.

Sense and Sensibility- Alan Rickman is surprisingly hot!

Flying High- Oh man, that movie is so funny! I love it! Surely you can't be serious? I am serious. And don't call me Shirely.

Colin Firth. :O)

4. Name an actor that would make you less likely to see a movie.

11:23pm: Ok, so I kinda borrowed (to use a phrase) that new Marie Antoinette movie, just to see what it was all about.

And maaaan, it drags on! I mean it's kind of interesting, but it's not...I swear this is a case of less not being more- in the case of dialogue that is. People hardly saying anything...it's weird!

Although I'll admit the fact half the leading cast has got American accents isn't as annoying as it could have been.

Anywho, this is just a quick entry as I'm about to head out and see if I can get me a good place to watch the fireworks and whatnot. Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to see the right side of the Bridge, so I'll just have to tape the display and see when I get back.

Having said that though, it's half an hour 'til they start and I don't want to miss 'em, so I shall leave now.

And I bid 2006 a fond adieu!

For though you screwed me over in the Job Department (or I screwed over myself, I'm not sure), it's been a fun ride, and of course, full of George III.

Huzzah! What, what!

Felt bored, so did this...

Instructions

1. Take this list and post it into your own LJ, and mark the movies you've seen (in bold).
2. Add five more movies to the end of the list.
3. Count how many you have seen. If you've seen more than 70 movies, you are a Movie Whore. Post the score of how many movies you've seen in the subject line.
4. Use a LJ-cut since you've got at least one LJ-friend who doesn't really want to see an ungodly number of movies snaking its way down the computer monitor (now at 370).
5. (optional) Question your friend's taste in movies (because you can)

The Big List! )

Well, I'm going to bed shortly since I have to get up early tomorrow to do my newpapers (eek!) and then go to the dentist (bigger eek!)

Today my friend and I went to Zep's house, we were going to go a cemetery to sketch things, well I was just going to tag along, but I might have drawn something if I'd liked it. But the weather went pretty crappy towards the middle of the day so we went to the video store instead to get some videos.

There I saw that they've put up The Incredibles poster thingies and whatnot, as it's only a week away from release! I was tempted (having seen [livejournal.com profile] missnickers lj entry) to ask if I could have the stand when it was no longer needed, but I have so nowhere to put it and would rather get a poster. But if there'd been a Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason stand with a big Mr. Darcy on it, I may have being unable to resist!

We borrowed something called Shaun of the Dead and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azakban (which, I really need to buy) and Zep brought one of The Crow movies. We also popped by Woolies, where I got some more Cheese Wedges...see it's two days after Lent finished and I'm already scarfing them down! Along with some bottles of fizzy drink.

We ended up watching Shaun of the Dead, which was stated to be a romantic comedy complete with Zombies, but shit man it wasn't very funny, just about everyone was dead at the end of it, not to mention the whole grossiness of blood everywhere and rotting Zombies. Geeze, there goes an hour and a half of my life that I'll never get back. ;OP

After that though, we watched Harry Potter! Yay! Harry's cool, although it seems to me that a lot of that movie was well boring stuff...seriously Professor Lupin looks like some sort of paedophile and he talks on and on. But I really do enjoy the Time-turner bit! :O) I wonder if Ron will ever travel through time, :OD he was stuck in the Infirmary after all.

Also, we had hotdogs for dinner, yum! And ate some of the chocolate bunnies...ah how I love chocolate! Seriously I'm so going to be oversized when my metabolism hits the wall, I threat I should take more seriously as for the first time in half a century Australia's life expectacy is suspected to drop! All because of obsesity! :O(

But now...

The Meme! )

Righto, off to bed now, wish me luck tomorrow with a week and a day's worth of papers, I'm not kidding these papers piling up like no-one's business! Oh and the dentist...damn...I hate going to new doctors it takes ages to get comfortable with new doctors, what a pain in the ass.

In other news...I'm bloody thirsty even though I've had two glasses of water in under an hour...weird....
