10:40pm: I'm watching Carols In The Domain and I've never heard this Christmas carol before...I think this must be some new one, I don't like it. LOL.

I could have sworn this thing was on Christmas Eve, so I'm surprised it's on now, that does explain the fireworks I heard earlier. I had no idea what they were for where they were coming from for that matter, but now the question has been answered.

In other news, I got up early for my trip to Aldi, but I managed to miss both the buses and even back-up bus that I sometimes try and catch when I've missed everything else. Pft, big fat fail. But I got there in the end and whilst there was no swimming costume exactly like the one I have, there was a black one with white pokadots which looked pretty sharp, so I picked one up, there was also a nice red dress that was 70% off, so I got that along with my cheese and bananas. There was a bit of a bruhaha at the checkout because I didn't have enough money in my account and I couldn't get mobile data reception in the shop so I had to go upstairs to transfer money then go back to pay.

And then I caught the bus back home where I swiftly discovered...despite the measurements on the back of the packet which I used to decided which swimsuit to get, I was mislead and it was too loose! Not like falling off or anything, but seeing as it was only going to stretch the more I wore it this wouldn't do it all. Seeing as I got the red dress in the same size too that didn't fit either.

So, I had to take them back later on in the afternoon and I still hadn't got my weekly bus ticket and when I went up to the corner shops I found the newsagency closed, so I didn't get it then either. So, I get back to Aldi and find there's no size 12 swimming costumes left! Except in the two piece tankini which I didn't want, and there wasn't a spare size 12 red dress on the bargain table either, so I ended up returning both. And then I decided I would go to the other Aldi at the Mall to see if I'd have any luck there...long story short, I did not.

So there goes my new swimsuit purchase, do'h.

At least I got some Tim-Tams and cash-out so I could finally buy my weekly bus ticket. But then of course, I managed to miss the express bus, so I had to take the all-stops one. Hmpf! The all-stops bus did get me to church in time though so that was a relief.

Although, wouldn't you know it, the bus home was diverted because the main road was shut down for some reason...It was a bumpy ride down side streets, but I didn't get home that much later than usual so go figure.

In closing...I'd like to leave you with some Memes:

YA

Do you read books written for children or teens? Or do you stick to books for adults?

I totally read Young Adult fiction! In fact most of my books are just that, I've still got my copies of the Baby-Sitter's Club - and actually bought those when I was like 25, and the entire Sweet Valley High series - and almost all the University books. Not to mention The Princess Diaries series and Harry Potter series of course. I enjoy Young Adult fiction, lots of times they're way better than anything out there for adults.

All I Need Is A Miracle

1. When has something miraculous or seemingly miraculous happened to you or someone you know? Um...gee, I can't really think of anything that incredible. Which disappoints me.

2. When were you last part of an amazing coincidence? Hell, I can't really think of any I've been in either. Would meeting my first best friend from Dubbo at my university in Sydney many years after we lost contact count. She was in one of my classes, but it was three weeks before she spoke to me in the elevator, good thing she did, because I wouldn't have had the guts too. Alas, that was not the beginning of re-establishing contact.

3. What have you recently accomplished against magnificent odds? Beats me...maybe surviving a week in the Aged Care Facility!

4. In what way this week has luck been in your favor? Umm...I guess the two buses and train I needed to catch to get to Lithgow would count, I mean even with some traffic delays I made it to the station on time. And I managed not to panic on the train, whoo!

5. What was the last outcome you consciously decided to leave up to chance? My job hunt, I guess. I'm not sure what else I can do to get a job though...I guess i need to network or something.

The (Other) Friday Five

It’s the holidays, so let’s celebrate!

1.What is one of your diehard traditions for Christmas Eve? Err...I'm not sure I have one! Oh, maybe last minute gift wrapping, LOL!

2.How do you start your Christmas Day? Opening my stocking! Although as of late, I've had to fill my own stocking, but it's important to me that I have one. :OP

3.Is there one gift in particular that you’d like to find under your tree This year? Well, a green cover for the Kindle my aunt gave me would be most welcome!

4.If you don’t celebrate Christmas, is there a holiday you do celebrate at this time? N/A

5.Do you have plans for New Year’s Eve yet? Not at present. I really want to go see the fireworks, because they're the best in the world, but I don't think any of my friends will want to go, plus my parents no longer live in North Sydney now, so I'm not sure what will happen.

Saturday 9

:Happy Holidays!:

1. As you can see, Sam loved giving her annual wish list to Santa. Yet some children are reluctant to climb into Jolly Old St. Nick's lap. Did you enjoy the tradition or were you shy? Or did you by pass it altogether -- either because you wrote him a letter or because your family didn't celebrate Christmas? Well, my brothers and I did get out picture taking with Santa at the Mall a few times during our childhood, but I don't really remember if I enjoyed the whole thing. As for writing a list to Santa, I think I did it once or twice, but I was 9 when I discovered Santa didn't exist, so...

2. Are you currently on the Naughty or Nice list? How did you get there? Nice list I would assume since I'm so generally inoffensive. :OP

3. Did you ship any gifts to friends and family this year? If so, which one traveled the farthest? Nope, I did send a card to a friend in Canada yesterday, I hope it gets there in time!

4. Did you buy yourself a gift this year? Nope, I feel quite poor at present.

5. What's your favorite holiday-themed movie? I do love National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, those crazy Griswolds!

6. Thinking of movies, Christmas is lucrative for Hollywood. Have you ever gone to a movie theater on Christmas Day? Can't do that on Christmas Day here in Australia, theatres are open on Boxing Day, but I've never gone to one on that day. I think it'd be waaay too crowded.

7. Have you ever suffered an embarrassing moment at the company Christmas party? Haven't been to many, and thankfully no. A family Christmas Party is another matter I should think! :OP

8. What's your favorite beverage in cold weather? It's summer here in Australia, but to answer your question - hot chocolate, yum!

9. What will you remember most about 2014? Doing the Certificate IIIs at TAFE.

Right, tomorrow my brother and his girlfriend arrive from Japan, so I have to be at my parent's place by 10:30pm so I better get to bed so I can have a good night sleep. It's been over a year since I've seen my big bro, so this is exciting.

And now, I say goodnight!

10:28pm: It didn't start that way...actually it started pretty well! Except I was running a bit behind so I had to try and catch the bus at a different place, I got there all right, but then...suddenly out of nowehere my throat started burning...I mean really really burning, the pain was just horrible! And the bus wasn't coming. At first I thought I missed it, but checking my phone I saw it was running late, very late.

The pain and burning just got worse and worse, this was an reflux attack of the highest order, I wanted to go back to the flat, but I couldn't imagine walking back, all I wanted to do was find some Zantac or something!

Finally, the bus arrived and I got on, wondering if I should go to the library or the doctor or a pharmacy, but as the bus went directly by my grandparents place I decided to go there, at the very least I could eat some bread there or something.

Of course this meant I had to call the library and tell them I was going to be late, I offered to come in at noon instead (even though I wasn't sure if I'd feel up to it) but my supervisor said it was OK and they'd see me next Thursday. I was terribly disappointed but considering that my reflux was so bad I was practically drooling there wasn't much I could do.

M and Grandpa were surprised to see me and unfortunately for me didn't have Zantac, but M did have Mylanta tablets, which sadly tasted like crap and to be honest didn't help much at all. I had some bread, some water, a carrot...but the burning pain was still awful.

So eventually, I headed back to the bus stop to go home to my flat where I did have some Zantac, which I took as soon as I walked through the door. But sadly, it didn't have the effect I hoped for...the pain dulled somewhat but that was about it and then to add insult to injury I ended up with terrible indigestion.

And now my knee is hurting again!

Seriously, what the fuck?

Oh and the coup de grace, I got a message from Mum's friend that I had some mail waiting for me and when I went down there to get it I found a letter from Mosman Council. My heart dropped...this could only mean one thing...

I wasn't even going to get an interview! After all my hard work and hopes and everything else! It's not fair! This just too depressing. :O( Why won't they give me a shot?

And now I definitely will be doing work experience at the old folks home, fuuuck...I don't even know if I can do that. I don't even know if I'll be any good at it.

Ugh.

Well, this is a decidedly depressing entry and I have no interest in doing the Memes right now so I'm going to wrap this up here.

I better not have this reflux pain tomorrow otherwise I don't know what I'll do about church because I certainly won't feel like going to it.

Pft. Goodnight is all I have to say.

10:33pm: God damn, luck is not on my side right now, for example, today I called the newsagency in Chatswood back and spoke to the boss there, who apparently had been out sick almost from the day of our interview a couple of weeks ago. He only got back yesterday and in the time he was out the other boss picked someone else to fill the role! What makes this doubly crappy, is the boss told me that he'd been quite impressed with my interview and experience and would probably have hired me or at least put in a good word for me.

Fuck me, seriously?! What is this crap?

I was further irritated by the fact that the bus drove right past the stop I was waiting at after going food shopping this afternoon despite the fact the app on my phone said it should have! And I waved my hand to flag it down and eveerything! I even went to another bus stop, although unfortunately not a main one because I thought it would stop there and while the next bus did briefly pause by the stop it didn't open its doors. Hmpf! So I had to take the other bus that stops 500 metres up the road and around the corner. Thankfully, it was still light out although the skies did look quite threatening...it didn't rain though, probably because I bought an umbrella (must have left my black one back at the parental abode).

Oh, and I also managed to overcook my dinner and burn half the chips I put in the oven. I also set the fire alarm off. Good thing I had a chair to climb on so I could press the hush button, otherwise I would have had to find a broom or the vacuum cleaner or something.

So yeah, quite a lot of irritations today, but I did at least remember to go to the Job finding place to sign the transfer document and tomorrow I'm off to visit M and Grandpa and play some canasta.

Plus, I bought some Nutella, because I discovered that it turned 50 recently, which resulted in photos such as this. Seriously, who can resist! Damn that stuff is stupidly addictive, LOL.

And I've been doing some cleaning up of my bedroom area here, I've put all my Agatha Christie books in my cube, which is nice.

Finally before I go, Wimbledon is coming in 6 days! I wonder if the Fed-Ex will be there, have to wait and see I guess.

For now, though, I bid you all goodnight.

10:50pm: I'm three days late with the above proclaimation so you may well be asking yourselves why that subject title. Let me answer that question for you now.

On Friday 13th I missed a phone call from work and the Boss left a message, now for some reason I didn't get or failed to notice the missed phone call and thus never listen to the message. What was the message?

I'm no longer needed! AT ALL!!!!

I am now completely and utterly unemployed!

Fuck my life, fuck it right now!

I'm so pissed! That positive visualisation thing was supposed to bring me a phone call from the ABC to come in for an interview on Friday! Not a missed message about being retrenched!

Frankly, I'm rather annoyed that the Boss - or ex-Boss didn't bother to try and call me again, because seriously? Did he think I just got that message and didn't bother to respond? I felt like a complete ass this morning! Especially since my mother had dropped me off because she needed me to help her with washing the car and I was so worried I was going to be late. And I was...two minutes late that is.

So, that's it! After nearly four years I have been uncermoniously thrown under the bus because I'm too old and they can get someone much cheaper - although in their defense I suppose, they've cut the Monday shift way down to only a couple of hours.

Hmpf! So in response to this, I've had to return to the plan of getting into Aged Care by calling up that In-Home help place and registering my interest in a TAFE course. Also I tried to call that other newsagency, but the man I needed to speak to wasn't in today, but I'll call back tomorrow and see what's going on there.

Oh and at least I got my Concession Travel card so I don't have to pay full price, and Mum dropped me off back at the Granny Flat later in the afternoon with the single doona so I now have my Pinkie Pie bed cover again. And there was left over lasagna from last night so I got to have that for dinner.

However, there appears to be something on the roof, there's been a lot of noise up there...I wonder if it's a possum or something, although it also sounded like there was something in the roof too. I hope not, otherwise I'd have to get an exterminator or something.

Anyway, enough bitching, time for Memes - although I will bitch about the Saturday Six no longer allowing copy-pasting, what's with that shit? Fucking annoying.

Here they are )

And finally in closing, I've had to order another charger for my tablet, the one I have died today! Just in time for the battery to go below 30%. Damnit. I hope it gets here quickly...I have to play Tapped Out on my mobile in the meantime.

But now it's bedtime, wish me luck for a better day tomorrow!

10:53pm: Ha ha, good pun if I do say so myself and very apt!

I went to work today as usual and it was good, I planned once again to go to the gym, since I didn't go yesterday. However, I was reminded of the Duck for some reason and decided that I really should visit it before it goes. I thought it might be here for another week, but on looking up the website on my phone I found today was the last day! I'd have to go straight to Parramatta (which is a fair way away about an hour and a bit in the bus from the city) if I was going to make it!

So I decided to do that...however, an issue cropped up when I changed buses, I had brought along my new lunch bag and had put my lunch box in it, it fit perfectly, but alas the bag itself did not fit in my gym bag and you can see where this is going right? When I changed my bus to get one to the city I left it behind! D:

Problem was when I firsf realised I didn't have it when I arrived at the bus stop for the bus to Parramatta I thought I'd left it in the second bus, not the first, so I decided to go after it. I managed to find it in the bus yard at Central and the bus driver let me on to check even though he hadn't found anything. At which point I realised I must have left the bag on the first bus! Crap!

So back I went to the bus stop I needed to be at to get the Parramatta bus and I must have just missed it because I was waiting a very long time, like half an hour! Lucky for me I'd bought some water at the nearby 7-11 which was when I'd realised I'd left my lunch bag behind, because it was very hot today.

The bus eventually came, but alas it was only a small red bus and lots of people got on and it was standing room only and as we set off I started to have second thoughts. Very anxious thoughts...very, very anxious thoughts especially as we headed up the overpass to the ANZAC Bridge. Long story short, there was scratching and blood and I almost got off the very next stop, but I quote a few people got off so I got a seat, which I thought would help with things. I still felt pretty bad, I tried to eat my carrot bit it didn't really help and I almost gave up again! But I kept on goingand soon felt OK, except for the fact my poor phone was swiftly running low on battery, I'd charged it at the newsagency, but I'd been reading a book on it which drains the power quickly. So I got on theFind a Word book I got from the newsagency and got busy with that.

So I got to Parramatta, where I managed to get lost trying to find the park I needed to go to! Even when I pulled up Google Maps in my phone, which did my phone battery no favours. At least I got my exercise in, I suppose...

But this lead to the second bad luck, after getting general directions I finally spotted the yellow form of the Duck in the distance and hurried towards it, but by this time my battery was all but dead! I thought I might still be able to take a photo because it was still light out so no flash was needed, but...no. I tried turning the phone off and then back on because I heard that can do things with batteries, but no dice, it wouldn't turn on then and there wasn't a power point to be seen. Or as there?

Things looked up when I saw the food van, I hurried over and asked if I could plug the phone in, the man said he was leaving soon, bit I was welcome too. But wouldn't you know it? He'd been there all day and his generator finally stopped. And I hadn't got much of a charge at all!

So now I was in a huge mess! I'd come all this way and now I'd have no duck pictures! What a waste! But then I realsied I was surrounded by cameras, and I screwed up my courage to explain my situation to two different people who kindly agreed to take a photo of me with the Duck and email them to me right then and there! Many years ago I'd done much the same thing for some people at Olympic Park when the torch was there, except I had to email the photo when I got home.

But yes! Thanks to the wonders of 3g here's the two pictures!

Not the best fashion statement, but look at that adorable giant Duck! But really he belongs in Darling Harbour in the heart of the Harbour where he can be easily enjoyed. I shall suggest the festival so that next time.

So yes! Task completed, but phew! Now all that's left is to cross my fingers and call the relavent bus depot and hope my lunch bag is there. Seriously...I need to tether everything to my person...

But I've realised I haven't had a chance to watch My Little Pony today, nuts! Oh well, what can you do? It's Homes Under the Hammer time right now.

And I shall Meme tomorrow, for now...I say goodnight!

10:00pm: Indeed, I have no idea why, but today was a catalogue of errors the likes I haven't seen in many months! Let's do a list, shall we?

1. I got up early enough to get to the Mission Australia place and arrived on time only to discover...somehow I'd been exited from the whole program! This meant...

2. I had to go to the Centrelink, which at least was only around the corner, to sort it all out. Centrelink is a Hellhole of ridiculous waiting times, I was there for an hour and a half just for a five minute interview!

3. While that was happening I was in the throes of burning throat pain, I'd taken a lozenge before leaving the apartment, but it didn't seem to work worth a damn! Not until I got him and gargled with salt water.

4. Mum called in the early afternoon to discuss things and upon hearing of Centrelink woes decided that she should probably come to my Tuesday appointment, which is on at 9:45am so she wants to come over on Monday evening, which necessitated...cleaning the apartment.

5. And also making my birthday cake, I made two halves to put together, which worked...kind of, the firs half almost went pear shaped when I didn't s the convection oven to the right temperature so the middle wasn't cooked when I took it out!

6. I cleaned the apartment well enough over the next two hours, it because I left it so long between cleanings that there was an abundance of dust which set off my allergies. Oh my God, my nose was running like a sieve!

7. Then the coup de grace...I went to take my Christmas decorations and the tree down to the Box Thing when I forgot to take my apartment key with me and didn't realise...until I'd shut the door behind me. I'd locked myself out!!

8. Thank God for me I'd been preparing to leave and had my pouch around my neck with my mobile phone in it, so I was able to call Mum. Alas she was out and wouldn't be ale to come over or another hour, which may not have been so bad if my nose was' still running ridiculously. And I didn't have my bag so I had no tissues or money to buy any. I ended up leaving the building and going to some shops to beg for some. At the first place, the convienent shop, no dice. However the Big Secondhand bookshop did have some toilet roll and not long after that Mum called to say she was almost there.

8. So, I got back into the apartment, got my cake, frosting, cream and bags, I packed up my tablet and Mum helped me take the Christmas stuff to the Box Thing, and we headed off back towards the parental and half way there I realised...I left the tablet behind! Fuuuck.

9. And lastly,I'm feeling most sleepy and hoping to Hell that ts is from the allergies and the Sudafed I to and not the signs of a cold, because that would be bullshit. Oh...and my sandal is definitely not here in my parents house. Argh!

So..that was the last day of my 20s...hmpf! A crafty way to get me to say good riddance, perhaps? Touché life.

On that note, here's the final photo of me in my 20s. Although since I wasn't born until 9:50pm, that might not be true. But close enough.

Anyway, I shall bid you all goodnight now.

11:03pm: The say bad luck comes in threes and all at the same time, which seems to hold true for me. :O(

Bad luck the fist - Looks like there's no library job for me
Bad luck the second - Cut back to two days at week at the office job
Bad luck the third - A DOOZY! I was out today handing out resumes and looking at the model apartment at the new building that's going up across from my old University when I got a phone call.

From Centrelink...

And get this in April 2012 just before I got the office job I realised I'd been underreporting my income, so I called them up and correct the record. At the time I asked if I'd have to pay back money, and they said they'd get back to me on that.

Cue SIXTEEN FUCKING MONTHS LATER just when I'm in a hole moneywise Centrelink's Debt Recovery Office calls and says I owe them $458!!!!

FOUR HUNDRED AND FIFTY-EIGHT DOLLARS!

Apparently there's a payment plan I can enter into, but if I do...I'll have nothing..at all, to live on. Unless I go back to my parents.

Oh, or I can go on the New Start Allowance and then only pay a tiny amount each week.

Can't even believe this. I mean, come on, this isn't fair...I mean I know I wasn't entitled to that money, but there should be a limit on how long they can come back and collect. I mean for example, last December when I lost the newsagency job and got cut back to three days at the office, I was struggling and used nearly all my savings. Can I call them up and ask for retrospective low income allowance? I don't think so.

And...the show I'm watching just decided to show someone throwing up, my emetophobia is not as bad as it was, but it's still anxiety provoking. For fuck sake, that was unnecessary and further pisses me off.

Today has not been very good to me :O(

Here's hoping tomorrow is better. I'm going to the Laser Clinic to start the treatments on my chin and lip - hmpf maybe I'll can get Mum to pay for that since I can't afford it! And drop off some more resumes.

And maybe go to Centrelink, perhaps I can get a concession card for half-fares on public transport at least. And a letter so I can suspend my health insurance without having to recieve waiting periods and stuff like that.

And since it's too late to start on the Memes, I shall leave it here.

Please send me your good mojo and best thoughts! I've got to the end of the year to get out of this hole!

For now, goodnight!

10:30pm: I really made a screw up! I left my mobile in the car and it has my alarm on it, so I didn't wake up until 8:20am! Over an hour late!

To top it all off, a bloody bus broke down on the Harbour Bridge and the traffic was completely fucked! I managed to get around it and take the tunnel instead, but I was still an hour late.

Damnit, I'm just lucky my boss is away, he would have hit the roof! O.o Seriously when it rains it pours...

In further bad news the boss's pool has gone green because the pool pump broke down and it took me like a week to realise. I'm trying to get it fixed up before he gets back, which involves putting a heap of chlorine in it and somehow I managed to splash some droplets on my new jeans! FUCK! Those cost $100 and I just had them taken up! I have no idea what to do now. :O(

What new type of pill do you want to be invented. Remember, its what you WANT, not what might actually be able to be created.

ZOMG! ONe that cures IBS! That'd be the best thing ever! Because at present there is no cure, you just have to live with it, even when it hurts like Hell!. So bring it on.

Then again a pill to cure AIDS in one dose would be much better...so I'd probably go for that.

[Listen] Are there any musical artists whose music style you love, but have a hard time tolerating the vocals? What are some examples?

Er no...that sounds weird! I suppose that could happen though, but I don't generally listen to new music so that's probably why I haven't come across it.

[Watch] Are there any cartoon series from your youth that you’ve revisited as an adult? If so, which ones?

Robotech
! And I enjoy watching Inspector Gadget when I dig up the tapes and all sorts of things, I love my old cartoons.

Wednesday Weirdness

Hypothetical Round Two

1.) If you had to either shop for your groceries in your underwear only (bra&panties or boxers/briefs/whatever) or run streaking through the mall totally naked for no less than 4 minutes, which will you pick?

Oh geeze...what a choice, that's so fucked up, damn me...I guess...the bra and underwear, I have pretty nondescript bras, in fact with some of the shit people wear these days I might in fact look overdressed, LOL.

2.) You're having dinner at the inlaws (your boyfriend/girlfriend's parents if not married) and the food is so awful you would rather eat the table cloth. Your mother in law (bf/gf mother) calls you out and asks if there is anything wrong with the food. You can't say you're "just not that hungry" because you had earlier claimed to be "starving" so now, how do you respond to her?

I probably would have said something long before, because I have no tact, LOL! Shame on me! Because really if I hate the way something tastes, I'll say something, LOL.

3.) In the middle of foreplay, your partner asks if you want to try something new. You ask what it is. They want to stick some kind of frozen fruit or vegetable up your anus. How open to trying this are you?

DUDE??!!! No fucking way! Ouch! O.o

4.) Would you rather have to walk 30 feet over burning hot coals or walk 70 feet over broken shards of glass? Why?

30 feet over burning hot coals, because apparently you can do that without hurting yourself. I've never heard been able to run across broken shards of glass, maybe crushed glass would work...

5.) Would you rather have to have sex with your partner with a room full of your former highschool classmates watching or have sex with your partener in a room full with a mix of each of your former exes watching?

LOL! Can't imagine this ever happening, but I'd take the latter. Ha ha, poor exes, in their faces! :OP

Today is Repeat Day

What day do you wish you could repeat, and why?

Hmmm...that's tough...there's been some pretty good days...Hmmm...maybe the day we went to EuroDisney, that was great! Plus I didn't get motion sick in those old days, so I would have been all right! :O)

And that's about all I have to say about that.

11:46pm: Since February has 28 days, we get two Friday 13th's this year! So today was one, gulp! It went pretty good for me, but my boss had a Hell of a time with this new tenant of ours! Looks like it's gonna be trouble, which sucks. :O(

I did have some trouble because yesterday I got a letter from Medicare telling me that I hadn't enclosed my receipt with my claim form. I had no idea what the Hell it was all about because I could have sworn I put them in the envelope, plus without thoses reciepts I can't get my money back! So as you can imagine I was pretty worried about that, but today the reciepts showed up in the mail. I have no idea how they got separated but Medicare was nice enough to enclose a Reply Paid envelope, so thanks for that!

Anywho! I'd hate to leave an day un-LJed so I'm gonna cheat and post now, because apart from anything else I'm in the middle of something else and I also need to turn on the aircon!

See you tomorrow!

Don't let any black cats pass you by!

9:01pm: Actually, it started off quite well and over all is still good, but quite a few things went down that pissed me off.

Firstly, it rained all day, I know we need it, but it's a pain in the ass, especially since my shoes are totally worn out so water gets in them.

Secondly, when I went out to get lunch, I somehow managed to get the wrong receipt at the self-service checkout at Woolies! The person before me must have left it and I just didn't notice. I need the receipt for the work petty cash, otherwise I need to pay for it myself. So I had to run around and get a replacement. Pain in the ass, that was!

Thirdly, I discovered that alas you can lock the keys to my car inside the car (some of the new car's have that failsafe), I was fortunately at work where there's a spare key, so I got back in but that wasted a whole lotta time.

Traffic sucked too, but eh, that's not too unexpected.

It has to said though, that the costume hunt is still not going to well...what with the lack of affordable unitards out there. I've at least got the boots and the gloves (my mother had three pairs of black gloves to choose from!) But attempts to find a suitable top, not going so well. Plus as it turns out I don't have black tights after all, so I'm gonna have to buy those too...maybe I'll just bite the bullet and buy the 90 buck unitard. I'll have to go to a lot more costume parties to get my worth out of it, though!

Failing that I could just become one of those women who wear pants with skirts...but probably not because I hate that.

Or maybe I could try and sell it on E-Bay, LOL.

Well, I've got 'til 1pm tomorrow to figure it out.

Anyway, how 'bout those Memes! )

Right now I'm watching this doco on the Winter Olympics (even though it's not on for a year yet). It's only just started, but this guy is a clear winner. He didn't even stack it! Which I think is worthy of a prize. Just look at the guy!

Posterchild for "Nerds can do it".

It has to be said though Steve Bradbury needs to do something with his hair, he looks like he's got some bad hair extensions going on.

Speak of which, do you know how damn hard it is to get a white hair extension? Or white hair spray in stuff? I am must unamused!

Anywho, not much else to report, I better go do the Simmies, because I need to go to bed early so I can get shopping down for the last parts of the costume tomorrow!

7:07pm: My wrist isn't any better in fact it's worse, now it hurts all the time, instead of just when I'm typing.

It was so sore I had trouble driving home, and almost panicked. I tried to see the doctor, but no luck there...they were all booked out.

I asked the pharmacist about it, and she suggested putting anti-inflammatory gel and put a hot water bottle on the area.

Then I went to see if I could buy some of those wrist rest things at Officeworks, which I did, only to accidentally slice open the mouse wrist rest when I was trying to open the damn packet! That cost me 15 bucks! What a waste! I didn't loose all the little beads inside the mouse wrist rest, so it's sort of usable, but it still sucks! Plus there's all these little beads over the apartment floor.

What a complete mess!

7:32pm: Well, I'm still feeling lame as all shit about having missed my brother's wedding, I can't believe that happened! I'm totally bummed out. :O(

On the other hand as I was driving home I went past this park near the Fish Markets where you're not supposed to park your car, but people do it anyway. But the Parking Rangers were out, and man they'd booked about 10 cars! Oh, how much must that suck...

So work is back tomorrow! I have to go to bed on time (I really mean it!) because I had to get up early today to drive Mum to Manly and Dad to M and Grandpa's for brunch with the Japanese relatives. I orginally wasn't going to stay, but M said I could, so I hung around, reading the newspaper mostly. (I ted to talk way too much if I'm not distracted).

Then I drove Dad back home via Officeworks and hung around the parentals place for a bit, I thought maybe I should stay there, but I guess it's not the thing to do. I've been doing fine with driving, so as long as I leave on time it should all be OK.

Except I didn't put my bread in the fridge or anything when I left here yesterday (I didn't think I'd stay over at the parentals) and it's gone mouldy. Dang. I suppose I could have gone out to buy some more, but I'm all ready in my pyjamas.

Anyway, here's a throwback to one of my old TV favourites:

See what Rugrat you are.

LOL, doesn't surpise me!

In other news speaking of bad luck, Grandpa's camera isn't working, luckily the footage of the Wedding is all there, but he can't get it to play. So I've got no idea when I'll get to see it.

Anyway, didn't do much today, so here's the...

10:11pm: Today was ANZAC Day, and the mass this morning went quite well although there were some problems with stuff not showing up on the Power Point properly.

Also, I don't think I got enjoy sleep this week, so I'm tired and stuff, that being the case I'm gonna keep this quick.

I've been spending most of the day writing my fanfic since I discovered this morning my readership has returned! My co-worker Terry must have lifted the curse after all, LOL!

Speaking of work, I seem to recall that I was poking around the net at work yesterday when I really shouldn't have and I probably forgot to delete the cache on Internet Explorer. Which means I might have to ahem, pop by work to do so, since I don't wish to get my ass in trouble. (Yeah, I know surfing the net at work is bad - I try not to do it and most of the time I succeed)

Anyway where was...oh yeah so I wrote that new chapter, but I haven't posted it yet, because like I said I'm tired and I'm not sure if it's actually all that good and I don't want to post it in case it isn't.

Righto, here's Thursday's Memes:

3x Thursday

Half Full or Half Empty?

1. No matter what country you live in, do you think the future is bright (or gloomy) in terms of the economy? Why/why not?

Well, damn that's hard to say...I'm thinking on the whole...bright. But then if the US goes down the plughole it'll probably take the rest of us with it.

2. What about the current food shortage going on in the world? What are your thoughts about this?

Now I didn't hear about this until just yesterday and damn me if that isn't freaky as anything! I mean what the Hell are we going to do when we run out of food? Of course right now it seems to be effecting poor countries the most. I haven't seen any food shortages here... Cross fingers.

3. What 3 things (among others!) do you think need significant change to make the world a better place? Why?

Fresh water for all - Diarrhea is a major cause of death in poor countries

Better food distrubution - Tonnes of food is thrown out every day (or maybe every week...I hope so, every day is just horrible) while people starve, it's a crime!

Free and fair elections - Because dictators suck (see Zimbawe, Iraq under Saddam etc).

Booking Through Thursday

Springing (Not down here)

Do your reading habits change in the Spring? Do you read gardening books? Even if you don’t have a garden? More light fiction than during the Winter? Less? Travel books? Light paperbacks you can stick in a knapsack?

Or do you pretty much read the same kinds of things in the Spring as you do the rest of the year?

I've never read a gardening book in my life, I don't care what season it is...I do read travel books, but mostly for story related purposes. Basically I read the same all year round, eclectically (I often start books and then leave off...and shit,I think I have a seriously overdue library book...I just checked and oh fuck it's like a month overdue, must call library tomorrow - that's going to be the biggest library fine I've ever had... OK about 7 bucks, but still shit. - Er...ahem, I digress...)

Thursday Threesome

::The Convenience of Extra Cash::

Onesome: The-- endless onslaught of junk snail mail: how much do you get each week? I'm thinking maybe we could use it as insulation in our houses...

Hmmm...not that much actually, but that might have to do with the fact that a lot of the time, whoever delivers it doesn't bother to stick it in the mailbox, just under where the mailboxes are so it gets thrown out by someone else. Still that stuff is totally annoying and a horrible waste of trees besides.

Twosome: Convenience of-- a quick in and out? Do you have a convenience store nearby that is really convenient for you?

Sorta, but I don't usually go there because the food is so much more expensive...but sometimes I do if it's late or I just want an ice cream or something.

Threesome: Extra cash--? When you need some, where do you get it? ...the ATM? ..."write for over" at the store? What is this 'cash' thing you speak of ?

There's an ATM at a convience store near me, which is really good, because last night I had to go there to get money to pay the plumber. Although I usually do things on my credit (actually debit) card since it's cheaper.

Right, so yeah, I'm tired, and now super worried about that library book...that means I owe like $10 to the library...damn...I suck. What a waste of money too. I can't believe I forgot about that book! I'll have to go home after church tomorrow for sure so I can return it...although that will give me two extra days of fines. Damn.

On that sour note, good night to you all.

And would you believe it, the guy is a lawyer!

Ugh!

Anyway, before I head to bed, the memes:

Sunday Seven

THIS WEEK’S QUESTION:

Name the seven musical instruments you most wish you could play.

1. Volin
2. Piano
3. Flute
4. Sax-ama-phone;O)
5. Drums
6. Harp
7. Cello

No ways could I play any of these by the way.

Manic Monday

If you could "un-invent" one thing in the world so that it would no longer exist, what would you choose?

Definitely the gun, what has that really done for anyone? Violence begats violence and what not...

Monday morning you usually waking up thinking:

"Huh? Oh yeah, Monday! Get up, get to work!"

Do you find it easy to ask for help? Why or why not?

Yeah, because...well I often need help, so I figure you might as well ask, after all, what good does it do not to?

Monday Madness

1. Do you have children in school?

I don't have any children!

2. Are YOU currently in school (any level)?

Nope.

3. Did you (or your children) attend a public or private school?

Private school, go me. :OP

4. As far as formal education, what level have you completed?

Bachelor of Arts and half of a Graduate Certificate.

5. Do you, or did you have loans out for your (or your children's) education?

One for said Graduate Certificate, which sucks, 'cause I'm probably never gonna finish that thing...what a waste of money.

6. What are your thoughts on the cost of tuition for colleges and universities?

Sucks. Like I said I did two subjects for half a Graduate Certificate and it's set me back almost $2,000! I shudder to think how much a three to four year degree costs! And it's even worse in the US and Europe I hear.

Monday's A Bitch

Random Joy

1. Do you bruise easily?

You mean psychologically? I'd assume not :OP In that case, I'd say yeah...although I never seem to remember when I got them...what's with that?

2. What does your name rhyme with?

Konica...which is a photo company or something...

3. If you could have any famous piece of art to display in your home, which would you choose?

Oooh...hmmm...gee there's so many out there! Although, I'd take George III's coronation portrait by Ramsey, that's a Hell of a cool portrait!

4. What's the most inconvenient thing about the place you're currently living?

Lack of room, also the fact I've left all my crap on the floor.

5. What book are you reading right now?

Sweet Valley High
#102, I can hear M's embarrassment from here.

Right, now its time for bed.

Oh, and I brought some Cheese Wedges today, and I remain addicted as all Hell to them, I promised I'd keep them going for at least two days, but no dice. Well, it's back to regular cheese for me...

And that's all I have to say about that.

6:32pm: This is getting ridiculous! This afternoon while backing out of one of the boss's up-for-lease houses and I scrapped up against a tree and snapped my left wing side mirror! The damn thing still moves so the electrical cable thingies aren't broken, but it hangs all awkardly and flaps around unless I turn it right in. I have no idea how to fix it myself, and now idea how much (or how long) it would take someone else to fix.

So yeah I've completely fucked it up. Argh!

In other news, I need to find a spare video for Cold Case tonight, I think they're in The Box, do I really wanna go down there and fool around? I might have to, I don't want to buy anymore videos because, that's just a waste what with all the ones I've got.

Hmm and now I'm pondering on whether it was really that wise to eat this huge bowl of spagetti (which I defrosted from last week), not that I think it's tainted or anything, but it's just like a whole heap food, I may explode!

In other news, today I was flicking through Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban when I realised that I can't count either...after years of figuring that Gryffindor won the Quidditch cup after 8 years I realised it was actually 7. Um OK...so I get the award for sucking ass at Maths too. And therefore, if you take a few liberties with word meanings and say Gryffindor last won the cup when Charlie was in 3rd Year and it all works out like JK Rowling said.

Hmmm...well, I'm sure we're all glad to hear that :OP

Although it has to be said, that it's kind of hard to figure out.

In other news, someone made a Mythbusters theme! Now generally, I make my own mood themes 'cause it makes me feel all creative and stuff, but this one was just too cool to pass up, so I've decided to use it temporarily, like the Fairly Odd Parents one, but I'll keep the George III photostrip thing.

Ah good news! I found that Smallville tape, which I don't need anymore since I got Series 1 on DVD.

Hmmm, well not much else to say right now...so I'll do the Meme:

Wednesday Mind Hump

Hello everyone! Welcome to another Mind Hump. Cheer up, because today is Cheer Up day!

1. What makes you cheer up?

Cute stuff, funny stuff...Lots of stuff really, actually it's pretty easy to cheer me up. :O)

2. Who makes you cheer up?

Co-workers, family memebers, friends, The Chaser crew, various TV characters... :O)

3. What location makes you cheer up?

The library! Yes, I am that much of a nerd.

4. What food or beverage makes you cheer up?

Kraft Cheese Wedges
, Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate, other chocolate stuff, iced water.

Well, that was fun and now I'm off to net-surf!

And I'm happy to say my stomach is fine, so I didn't overdose on the spagetti after all. :O)

3:07pm: Well fuck me if today didn't completely suck ass, it's getting a bit better now, but this morning...oh my God!

This morning I woke up at NINE THIRTY.

And I'm supposed to start work at EIGHT THIRTY.

I was an hour late! More than an hour late by the time I arrived...somehow my alarm didn't go off, I must have set it wrong or not set it at all because it definitely would have woken me up if it had.

So I had to rush to work and in all that I forgot my handbag! My wallet and mobile phone which I really, really need. God how much of an idiot can one person be?

Well it turns out to be a little more than that. I thought I had lunch all planned out but my co-workers didn't think the chicken from yesterday was all that appetising, so my co-worker Terry gave me money to go buy some ham. But first I went to the post office and then to the fruit shop to get some avocado and tomato.

Terry gave me 13 bucks, I spent 4.20 on the avocado and tomato, so I had a five buck note and SOMEWHERE between the fruit shop and my car I lost it! LOST IT!

I didn't even realise until I got to the ham shop, I even went back to the parking lot to try and find it, and ask in the fruit shop, but no, it was gone.

I ended back at the ham shop asking how much ham I could get for $3.80, the answer was not much.

Well at about this point I lost it and started crying! I left the ham shop without ham and drove back to work to tell Terry I'd lost his money. He was really nice about it though! Which was good because my parents would have been so pissed.

So in the end we had to have the chicken anyway...

And even after nearly 10 hours sleep, I'm feeling really tired right now, what the fuck?!

Murphy...you are the biggest dick in the world.
anonymoose_au: (You Talkin' To Me?!)
8:40pm: The assignment is bogged down in the mud...I have no idea what I'm doing and frankly no interest in doing it...Frankly I'm reading to throw in the towel over the whole thing. The more I think about it, the dumber I feel for thinking I'd be any good at Teacher Librarianship, so what now? Should I try to complete this assignment, which honestly is so poor I wouldn't be surprised if I completely and utterly failed it or just forget the whole thing?

One thing is, the other subject it somewhat more interesting and I think I can pull together a decent assignment for that one, so is better to pass at least one subject? Can you withdraw from uni with credit and whatnot if you've failed? It's times like this I could use my mother's input. I could call my Aunt Weed or Uncle Sam I suppose...but not tonight because my brain is sluggish from even attempting this stupid thing.

It doesn't help that my decision to reclaim the green car has hit a huge snag...the transmission is so horribly gone that it needs to be entirely replaced at a cost of $1800! Now I'm totally stuck and I don't know what to do. Sticking with the white car seems easiest, but that thing is such a peice of shit it's not funny (I should stop bagging it out, it might take its revenge). Argh!

I've got to do work tomorrow, though, there's this Open House for one of the bosses properties, well that's great...I get paid for it though, and it's only an hour and there's in an interesting second hand bookshop in the area, so it's not all that bad.

Ugh! Forget this!

The Megalong Survey Triumphantly Returns! )

Well is it just me or are those questions getting longer? Ah well, at least it means the Memes are back. And also that I've got an email back from the Subject Co-ordinator to say I can give in the essay next week if I need to, well that's a load off.

Memes yays! )

Oh fuck me! I totally forgot the KEYS! The keys to the house I'm meant to open! That means I have to go alll the way to the bosses house to get it, go back over the Bridge (wasting three bucks and a bit more I bet...). Fuck, fuck, fuckity fuck! That SUCKS! Oh why!

Another problem with that white car...I filled it up with over 20 litres of fuel today, it was half empty and even with all that it wasn't full! More like three-quarters full. What a damn waste.

Sigh. Now I'm peeved...this has totally crapped things up...If I have to go over the bridge then back do I really want to cross it again to go to Church? Argh!

Hey Life, stop being an asshat.

10:39pm: Seriously, nothing, but nothing has gone right today!

Tonight I cooked my sausages, only to discover despite my best efforts I didn't clean the barbeque well enough, so smoke was all over the damn place and the fire alarm kept going off.

And God damnit, the sausages are all fatty and oily tasting...I mean they taste OK, but they certainly could be better!

THEN I discovered that most of the writing I did on my George III story in a notebook at work was shit I'd all ready written about! What the Fuck?

Now you'd think after all this, I would have left things alone, but no, somehow I managed to completely fuck up my LJ too! All my custom colours disappeared! And there's something wrong with the LJ colour picker thing, so I had to go to a webpage and hunt for colours! And they're not quite right, but it's the best I can do.

Goddamnit, this is stupid shit! I mean what the Hell? Why does bad luck always come at once? I mean it'd be OK if it was a bit here and a bit there it wouldn't be so bad...But it always comes from all sides and makes you want to hide under your bedsheets, or curse God a whole damn lot.

12:25pm: Damn this is BS! I was feeling quite well this morning, I ate my toast and everything, and the stomach was fine.

Then everything went pear shaped, I was planning to use the car to deliever Mum's stupid shawl to wherever it needs to go. But as I got in I remember that big ass photo montage thing is in the back and I din'treally want to leave the car in an unsecured area with it in the back and I didn't want to carry it up to the apartment. I also figured it would be easier to take a bus anyway...so I got out of the car, locked the door and closed it.

Leaving my keys in the ignition!

Fuck, fuck, fuckity-fuck!

Man was I pissed! I tried to use another key to get in, I even got a coathanger, but I sure didn't want to break the lock. So I headed out to catch the bus and tried to call my little bro, who owes me. I couldn't get on to him though, so eventually I gave up and called Mum to ask if I could borrow her car key. She said fine, but then said that she was leaving work early (for her) today. So I had to go to her workplace instead of mine first.

Then I got the brilliant idea to kill two birds with one stone by going by bus to drop off the shawl, I'd checked the street directory and the bus I was originally going to catch goes that way. So I did.

Only to discover as I walked for 10 minutes down the street in question that the address doesn't exist! Obviously, the shop is located on a street of the same name in another suburb! And I was wearing sandals so all that walking for nothing!

At least they key handover with Mum went fine and I was able to buy some Wedges and M&Ms for my trouble. I got a bus to Central pretty quick since it's you know, Central. But catchingthe other bus wasn't so easy, in fact I missed one and seriously considered giving up, going home and hiding under my doona. Luckily it seemed that the bus that went by was running late because another came by not one minute later.

So I managed to get to this place by noon.

But now the stomach is being a total bitch, Goddamnit, go away you.

Sigh, I'm just gonna show off my new icon, and go read something.

Bah Humbug!
anonymoose_au: (I Love You....I Hate You)
7:40pm: You know how a couple of days ago I was going on about that auction I wanted to win? Well, it turns out I can't freakin' read, for some reason I thought it ended at 6pm today, it ended at 10:38! I lost! And I didn't even realise it until six hours later. I am SO pissed off! How could I have missed that? I've been waiting for ages! Now, I'll either have to just wait to see if a double book deal like that pops up again, or buy the books seperately.

Sigh! Doesn't seem to be my day! My interview went well enough this morning, but it took so LONG and I was tired so I'm not sure if I really came off too well. But I kicked ass for the test they gave me on Microsoft Office, whoo! They also gave me a personality test (LOL, sounds a bit like Scientology...) and I seem to have come off rather well, good stuff.

But bad luck also continues in terms of the Drawn Together eps I'm trying to download, they start off fast, but nothing happens! I'm still at 48% and I've left the computer on all damn day! Sigh! I usually don't have this much trouble with torrents, so I don't know what the deal with that was...
Anyway, right now I'm watching a show about babies and what role nature and nuture plays, right now we're looking at a rather control-freak family who don't want anyone but them and their immediate family looking after the kid. Despite the face they have such much work to do between them! Weird. Although considering how expensive child care these days, so maybe keeping it in the family makes some sense, LOL!

Hmm...well there's not much else to say because most of the day was spent at work at the Prison Newsletter place, still no newsletter yet, but we had to mail all this stuff out, took a damn long time, but I'm quite fond of envelopes, so it wasn't too bad. :O)

But alas I still be tired...I wonder if I should start taking the vitamins again, or maybe I'm not getting enough sleep still...I always go to bed too late...shame on me!

Anyway, bring on the memes! )
