9:51pm: Well, the Rudd Government has been doing rather well in my eyes especially with "Sorry Day" coming up on the 13th February.

But I just heard on the news today that apparently Australia's official policy is that Taiwan should be part of China! I didn't know this and it's not something I agree with. Taiwan wishes to be independent and all the more power to them I say! And if we're gonna agree with China on that, are we gonna agree that Tibet is part of China too?

Well, I'm sure not going to!

I'm rather appalled frankly, because China is very oppressive to Tiawan and keeps it in line with threats. And that's not cool.

What also isn't cool, President Bush's budget...apparently he thinks the US Army needs another billion more than the woefully inadequate health system over there. Seriously, I have no idea how US citizens can stand it, I'd probably rather get sick in Bali (knock on wood) then in the US! I still fail to see how people can morally accept the idea that some people should be excluded from vital medical care based on how much they earn or don't. That's just wrong.

Moving away from the world's problems, here's a quizzie that reveals mine. ;O)

Well, that's true enough...they call 'em as they see 'em I guess...Although once again, they're very black and white, there's no 'sometimes' option. Pain in the butt that.

Hmmm...I've caught up on what I wrote on my George III story over the weekend, which is good. I'm trying to think of what to write next...although it will be bedtime soon.

Oh! And how could I forget! Pancakes were had and they were very yummy indeed, alas there was no properly whipped cream though (since I took the electric beaters to my hoouse) and that fake stuff, while good on ice cream just doesn't cut it on a pancake.

Anywho, stop, Meme time! )

Well, once again it is 10:30, good thing I'm at my parents house and so can sleep in a little, but not too much because I had to leave work early today to go to the Podiatrist. The result I need new orthotics and I had a cast taken of my feet! It takes them 3 weeks to make them, but in the meantime my old ones have been readjusted and no longer hurt my arches.

However, my brown shoes don't seem to fit right with the orthotics in...dang.

Right, to bed!

Goodnight all.

5:14pm: As feared, taking a nap hasn't done jack for me, I feel just as crummy. Argh, soooo irritating!

My boss rang me up just before I laid down for my nap, apparently I did something strange to the door to his house and he couldn't get it open. Whoops...I have no idea how that happened.

I probably feel crummy because I haven't even got out of pjs today, given that my pjs is just a t-shirt I don't look completely pathetic or anything, but I should at least put on some jeans so I can go down and get my shampoo out of the car so I can't wash my hair tomorrow morning. If I don't wash it my mother will totally notice and tell me off. Also I need to use the portable vacuum cleaner on the car.

Well here's that survey that's been going around.

WITH 2007 COMING TO AN END: )

So, yeah, still tired and debating what to have for dinner...and whether to go out and buy bread as I'm going over to my parents' house again tomorrow.

Incidentally, I was really shocked this morning to discover Benazir Bhutto was assainated. It seems like a real waste...it seems surreal to kill someone over politics.

But yeah, the world can be a dangerous place I guess.

See ya for now.

6:04pm: They've got some new Back to the Future Mini-mates! For the Enchantment Under the Sea Dance, how nifty! But alas still no George McFly mini-mate! Could this have to do with the whole bruhahaha with Crispin Glover and the BTTF II scenes and so on? If so, weak! I want my George McFly mini-mate! I might buy the other ones for fun though...I shall check my monetary situation.

I'm reminded again of my missing BTTF III Special Edition DVD, which I sent off to Universal Australia because it had that framing fault thing going on. I've tried to call the people, but they just don't seem interested, a huge bummer because I don't know what to do. I wonder if the BTTF Special Edition came out in seperate discs because then I guess I could get a new one...but I don't really want to buy and entirely new Box Set, I'm not made of money.

Hey there's trouble regarding Facebook...not the actual site, but with who really came up with the idea. A pair of identical twins from Harvard claim they came up with the idea, but they don't actually have any proof. I wonder if they did.

How odd! A dog has been found more than 1,000kms from his home and was just returned to his owner today. Someone stole him from the front of a shop and took him all the way up to Darwin, they even dyed his fur to conceal his identity. How weird is that? People these days.

In other news, I've been in no small amount of pain all day today, when I woke up this morning and turned my head to the right to look at something I felt the pain of a thousand suns shot up my neck. Some how I've done in the right side of it. I can look to the left and everything, but if I try to look to the right or lift that shoulder it hurts like a mother-fucker. I was thinking of calling up the local physiotherapist, but I don't think I'm covered by my parent's Medibank any more, hence I'd have to pay the whole amount, which is probably nearly $100 and I'd probably have to go more than once for it to really help.

I'm really pretty pissed about this, my left shoulder was hurting, now it's stopped...and now the other one has gone, argh!

Ooh! Excitement! Cadel Evans an Australian cyclist in the Tour de France is now a very good chance at winning! An Australian winning the Tour! We don't have mountains like that or anything, usually the Australian's just suck once we get into them, but he's kicking ass right now. I do hope he's clean though, because he got elevated to 2nd place because the leader of the race got booted for doping.

If that keeps up though, he'll do a Steven Bradbury, but hey we Aussie's aren't picky! ;O)

I have just finished baking a cake and am now making cupcakes, Saturday is the Boss's birthday and any excuse for a cake is good enough for me! Plus he has agreed to not only come along, but to get a friend and my grandfather to come with me as well to the Car place on Tuesday to do some...'persuasion' in regards to returning my moola.

In other news...uh...don't know what to have for dinner, especially since now that I make the cake from the mix myself I get the whole bowl, muhahahaha!

I can't figure out my cash finances...I have $1.10 in my possession right now, but the Quicken (the program Grandpa gave me to keep track of this stuff) says that I should have nearly $41... Where could it be? I must have misplaced some reciepts...do'h.

Hmmm...well, not much more to say right now, except I'm still looking for ways to cut back on my expenditure. I was wondering about cutting down on my net plan since I'm currently on this 10GB a month plan, but for the past few months I've been using less than 4GB, so it seems like a waste. But the problem is the next plan down has this whole On-Peak/Off-Peak thing going on. Then again, if I don't upload that much maybe I'll be all right. Hmmm...If I change I'll save 10 bucks a month which will add up in the long run.

Well, I've sent the email so I've guess I've done it...if worse comes to worse I hope I can change back!

And then I just realised maybe I should look at taking my business elsewhere, though my current provider is quite good, and I bet all those ones with the special super deals have all sorts of fine print and pain in the ass limitations.

This morning I was extremely disturbed to hear a gastro bug is going around, but apparently it's so far confined to hospitals and old people's homes. Although here's something weird...not only did the news advise people to stay at home if they had it (duh), but not to make food for others until they got over it. Seriously what the Hell? Who prepares food when they've got gastro? And who would eat it?

I was going to wash my sheets because it's been some time now, but I don't feel like struggling with the doona and the fitted sheet and the pillow cases with my shoulder and then they probably won't dry in time for bed...I is lazy.

Right Memes! )

6:31pm: Dick Cheney is to arrive here in Australia tonight, and there's been some violence at the protest they're holding. Dick Cheney sounds like such an ass...also isn't he the one who accidentally shot his own friend on a hunting trip somehow? Do you really want a dude who can't use a gun heading your army?

Whatever...

Right got toilet paper (I was fresh out) and a medicine cup (for some reason the one I brought here is gone) to take my medicine which will hopefully clear up my abdominal problems.

It's a sad state of affairs indeed...stupid body.

I ate cheese though, the doc said there was not reason not to and frankly I was going nuts! Maybe I should give it up for Lent!

You know, I like watching crime investigation show but the one that's on right now is creeping me out, I mean they've got re-enactments and everything...I don't want to see that, geeze.

10:24pm: Yes indeed! Tonight I finally stopped saying I'm going to play Sims 2 and I played it! Progress has been made on George's mother's family, her little sister is now a kid and her brother got a puppy (I don't like dogs, but Sim 2 pet are so cute! :OP). Unfortunately, this is the brother that has to have something terrible happen to him to explain why George has his name... I really should rethink putting angst in my stories if I'm going to play them out in The Sims 2. I'm loathe to actually do anything to my dear Simmies.

In other news today I was watching C&I and they had an episode on serial killers and psyhcotics and apparently the state of ones surroundings reflects the mind. In which case I'm the most disorganised person in the world. Seriously, this place is a bombhit, if I was robbed I probably wouldn't be able to tell there's that much crap on the floor. Also even though I did the washing up yesterday, there's an influx on plates around. I don't know what the deal with that is...I think it's the barbeque takes up a lot of room. But I'm keeping it clean so that's good! Still I can't exactly have friends over with my place looking like this.

In further news, I'm completely and utterly broke, I've got twenty bucks to live on until Monday and then I have to give my mother the other half of what I owe for the stupid Strata levies, which I don't think I'll be able to do because with the rent and all, that will leave me with no money for another fornight! I would just like to say, thanks a lot Murphy for giving me stomach cramps on two days where I had work and then causing at total drought of work, so I have no supplementing income. I appreciate it, bitch.

You know, in five days it will be the...uh...(goes on the computer's calculator because I can't be arsed to figure it out) the 186th Anniversary of the Death of George III. Poor George III, for 9 years prior to that he was so senile he was living in a complete fantasy world. It's kind of weird to imagine, I mean if you're short term memory and long term memory are shot do you even register time? It's kind of freaky!

Anyway, I am not sure whether I will have access to the internet enough to update over the next couple of days, tomorrow I'm going over to my grandparents house to stay, the day after that is Australia Day and we're taking the ferry up to my aunt's house to have it there. I'm not sure what I'm doing once we return...might stay another, might go home. On Sunday is the play.

My friend, Ben, who is leaving on Monday, wants to go see a movie Saturday night, but as I mentioned I've only got $20 and a movie costs about $11 and then there's dinner, and I don't know how much money I'll have next week...I tried to call him, but he's at work so I'll have to text message him about it. Maybe we can all hang out and go swimming or something at Zep's place.

Apparently You Tube is in a bit of a pickle because numerous racist videos have been put on it, including one by some Australian idiots, which are offensive not only to Australia in general, but to Lebanese-Australians in particular (who look really bad.) I do question though, whether this should lead to censorship of any kind, since I'm sure most people who saw the video realised that the perpetrators behind it were dumbasses. Reminds me of how on the news today the black Democratic candidate in the US (whose name I can't remember, how embarrassing!) is having his reputation smeared a bit because he happened to go to primary school in Indonesia and may have been exposed to fanatical fundies. Yeah, so? He evidentally isn't one of them and on the off chance that he actually was taught by fundementalists Muslims it might give him an insight as to what the Hell is going through their heads. I for one have heard some pretty freaky Christian fundie stuff, doesn't mean I'm one of them.

Hmm well there's no Meme up today...which means I can get away with all this babbling. :OP

Well, that's all I've got to say at this juncture in time. I should go to bed before midnight because I don't want to be late getting to the grandparents house tomorrow. Beyond that I have to rested up for Canasta! M (my grandmother) is the master, although I beat her once, lets see if I can do it again. :OP.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention! My father was a hero on Monday (I think it was Monday...) he was walking to the dentists when he saw two young boys crossing the road at this big intersection near the house. Unfortunately they didn't realise the light was still green and a taxi hit one of them!

Luckily, Dad knows First Aid for school so he hurried over to get the boy out of the road, he was very upset, thinking that the boy had died! Fortunately, the taxi didn't actually run him over, so he was OK except for a broken leg. The poor taxi driver was freaking out and I'm not sure the boys grandfather would have known what do to either. Dad had his mobile so he called 000 (he couldn't remember which one it was...hmm no wonder C&I points it out) and because there's a hospital nearby, an ambulance came in 5 minutes.

Phew!

And after all that my father still ended up going to the dentist later in the day! :Oo Cripes I would have been too shaken to do that! It did upset Dad though, but like I said I'm sure the kid is OK, very fortunate Dad was there.

Good night all!

10:35pm: On the news today some guy from the Indonesian Government had to apologise for releasing a statement yesterday that they had located a crashed 737 and 12 survivors, now stating that they were incorrect and they haven't found the plane at all.

Where the Hell did story come from? I mean...it's not like you can miss a crashed plane...sounds like Chinese Whispers gone wrong or something. It's rather sad though because they still haven't found the plane. :O(

But there is some good news, in that they found 12 survivors from a ferry disaster, somehow the ended up 300 kms away from the sinking on an unmanned oil rig! I wonder how they got there, that must have been some current.

Ouch, my stomach hurts...weird...probably because I neglected to have a proper dinner again, must have a peice of bread before I got to bed.

Anyway, before I do that the Meme!

Wednesday Mind Hump

It's Drink Straw Day! (They have a day for everything now...)

1. What's your favorite beverage to suck up through a straw?

Milkshake/Iced Chocolate! In fact I can't drink a milkshake any other way. However, do not use a straw to drink hot chocolate. Yeah, I'm stupid...

2. Do you prefer the ordinary straight straws, or the crazy, colorful, twisted straws?

Bendy straws are fun! :OD

3. Do you ever make those loud sucking noises at the end of the drink to annoy other people? And does that annoy you?

LOL, yes! Although not to annoy really more to get every last drop...because it does annoying me when other people do it.

4. Name one thing to do with a drinking straw other than using it to drink.

Blow a piece of paper into the air. (Isn't there some sort of competition where you have to do that?)

Well, I better turn in since I need to get up early and see about the Work for the Dole thing.

anonymoose_au: (This Calls For A Sexy Party!)
12:35pm: 2007...wow...

Now usually I would have updated about my night once I got home from the fireworks, but my parents called me up asking me to come meet them where they'd left the car so I could drive them home.

I'm sorry to say I was rather in a bad mood about that, because my feet hurt, I originally planned to go down to the harbour to see the Bridge from the right side, but it was going to take waaay too long, so I had to walk all the way back up that damn hill.

I managed to get a pretty good vantage point, although ironically as I was walking to the where the car was I found and even better vantage point...well, live and learn.

I also couldn't get my camera working, so I had to use my mobile phone....unfortunately I can't seem to get the phone to synch up with damn computer, I'll have to use the wire when I get home.

I can't get Photobucket to work either...but here you can see some choice shots of the Greatest Fireworks Display in the World ;O)

Needless to say the theme for this years display was The Wizard of Oz or the Emerald City or something like that, so there was lots of green! My favourite colour! :OD But it's not as fun when you can't see what's going on on the Bridge...But I got it on tape (which I haven't watched yet), so I can watch it later on.

I would also like to express my disappointment in the News Outlets of the World, every news broadcast has images of the Saddam Hussien Hanging! For fuck sake, the man was an evil bastard, but I'm not sure reveling in his death speaks particularly well for any of us. Also, I could have sworn it was illegal to broadcast that sort of thing. I mean I can understand a morgue picture (like they did with his sons) just to prove he's dead, but the actual hanging? That's sick.

Well, that's my big bitch for the first day of the year...ah Classic Moose.

And may all my US friends have the best New Year's Celebrations! Aude Lang Syne!

10:46pm: As you've no doubt heard, they put Saddam Hussien to death today, and I'm sorry, but not all that surprised that our stupid Prime Minsister John Howard didn't bother to speak out about it. I mean, as a country where the Death Peanlty is banned we do have a duty to tell countries that do that we don't approve. At least Britian said someting.

I also didn't like the statement made by our Prime Minister that this was an example of democracy at work or some shit like that, I sure hope you don't need to go killing people to make a democracy.

Anywho, enough bitching from me about that, since the news has been saturated with it all day. Instead here's a Quizzie of interest:

Your New Year's Resolutions

1) Get a pet hedgehog

2) Eat more whipped cream

3) Travel to Spain

4) Study Latin

5) Get in shape with spinning

Personally, I don't see how this is going to help me get a job...exccept maybe the Latin stuff, even then I don't think it would work.

Of course, if I was willing to move places I might have some luck, for example I saw a rather interesting news story today on this group of conservers who are helping to fix the paintings at the National Museum in Canberra, which have suffered terrible water damage from hail storms. That looks rather interesting, I would of course have to relocate.

There's also jobs avaliable that are airplane-related, but alas I'd have to go to Melbourne, which is also where a lot of the editor jobs are. But I don't want to move where I don't know anyone! (Well my cousins live in Canberra, but they're out in the donga) plus where would I live?

Eh, stuff it.

Hmm no memes up yet.

Anyway, I don't know what to think of that...because I'm pretty sure making embroyic stem cells involves creating a clone of yourself, then changing it into a liver or something...I don't really want to turn a clone of myself into a liver! That just seems really shitty.

Anyway! Moving on from contraversial subjects that make me look like an ass :OP, my word count!

And I'm still coming in 5th out of 237, go me! Although that doesn't really take into account that some people might be neglecting to update their word count every day or at all, but officially speaking :O)

I think I mentioned this last year, but I do wonder what sort of web langauge they use to make the book on the profile, because I find that a really nifty format to read your story in! Seems to be Flash, which I don't know how to use...although I could probably figure out a way to steal it off the NaNo site, LOL!

Anyway, congrats to America for having a Woman Speaker in the House, the first ever! That's pretty exciting...in Australia we're seriously lacking in the women in politics (although they've been making quite a mark on the conscience votes lately), I wonder when will have a women Prime Minister, it's pretty embarrassing having never had one. There also could be an black President...we've certainly never had an Aboriginal Prime Minister...or any one that isn't Caucsian. Hmmm...

But bad news! The Government has knocked back a proposal to supply the new Cervical Cancer vaccine to all women 15 to 25 for free! What a pisser! I mean, they cited cost, and it is very expensive ($400 over the counter!), but surely having cervical cancer would be even more expensive. You have to recieve treatment, go to hospital etc. etc. I mean, something like that really should be free throughout the world. Imagine if there was a cure for HIV and governments wouldn't provide it! Talk about a crime against humanity!

Anywho! I have work tomorrow, so I better get my ass into bed, the Meme's not up today, so that's all I have to say.

10:28pm: Damn, now that I've got to the unplotted section of my tale I'm going at a snails pace...well crap...now what am I going to do? I suppose I just have to read my books and think about stuff to put in because they' didn't write about kids much back in those days, it was pretty much a 'Who cares' kind of thing. Damn them!

Anywho my word count for today:

Gee, how embarrassing because I was saying how I was almost at 15,000 words all day today and it turns out I've still got...a little under 300 hundred to go.

In other news I be feeling rather tired, which is a bit worrying because I went to bed at about 12.30 last night and woke up around 11:30, so you'd think I wouldn't be. I swear my sleeping patterns have gone down the craphole, I guess this is what happens when you don't have a job and keep regular hours.

Oh and related to NaNo, I keep seeing people who know what their position is compared to others in the same area (ex: 1st in London!) How do you find that info? 'Cuase that's something I'd like to know. :OP

In World News, Saddam has got the Death Penalty, crap. Can't they just stick him in a cell? I hate the Death Penalty I really do, and that being the case I feel I have to speak out against it in all circumstances even when it's for bastards like him. Besides is killing him going to serve any purpose? From what I hear it might actually make things worse (if that's possible). They should just stick him back under the airport.

Also aren't those who commit crimes against humanity supposed be tried in the Hague? I wonder what the Kurdish people think of all this, actually I wonder about the Kurdish people, we haven't heard much about them, I wonder if they're still in great danger?

And I was yet again reminded today that a lot of this shit could have been avoided had the US Army kept its promise to back up rebels who planned to overthrow Saddam way back in 1992 at the end of the 1st Gulf War. Something the US Government has never apologised for incidentally, I mean, that's one of the most fucked up things I've ever heard. Who the Hell was behind that decision, because they could probably be charged with crimes against humanity.

Hmmm...I was just looking at [livejournal.com profile] nannwrimo and saw a suggestion that's not such a bad idea. Technically it doesn't matter what order you write your story in as long as it's the same story and all fits together in the end. So maybe my best bet is to write scenes as they come to me (ones that are much later on in ol' GIII's life because those are the parts with the most info) and put them all together later.

Anywho, I'm too tired for this shit, so I'm gonna Meme and run. )

Right, well I'm done for the evening, good night!

Back Again

Oct. 27th, 2006 06:28 pm
anonymoose_au: (I Was Violated!)
5:38pm: Yep, I'm just mentioning that I'm watching Style by Jury ep with that chick who really told the jury where they could stick their advice, frankly I'm surprised there's not more people like that? I mean come on! Sometimes they say really nasty stuff, "You look like a ho" or something and sometimes they're dressed TERRIBLY! Today we got to see some guy with a wool vest on. No shirt? What the Hell? The itchiness factor on that must have sucked!

Anyway, I've been reading about this furore about Micheal J Fox and the Stem Cell Research ad thing, dear me, I still can't believe that dude said he was overacting! I mean he may not agree with embroyic stem cell research (which I have to admit I don't either), but to make a claim like that! The man has a serious disease and heads a foundation on the whole thing, I doubt he'd insult other suffers by overacting! But yes, MJF went on CBS as a follow up and it turns out the tremors on the ad was from overmedication. Geeze, that's got to suck! Imagine having to take medicine with that sort of side effect! I wish him the best, it's really sad, but also inspiring how committed he is and stuff.

Hmm...I ate too much cheese and a Cherry Ripe I brought while shopping, this morning I went to my appointment at Jobfind so I could get an appointment for an assessment and transfer to the other place. It took a bit longer than I thought, but after that I decided I should go and get the E-Tag from the RTA. (It lets you go over the Harbour Bridge and other places without having to stop at the tolls) But I decided to walk up, because you know, people need exercise, I stopped by the 2nd Hand Bookshop, the Comic Kingdom and Kinokunya, but I didn't buy anything. Good thing since the E-Tag costs $100.

It was lunch time by the time I got to the RTA, which is generally a bad move since that's when everybody goes! Thankfully the E-Tag had it's own two windows and you didn't have to get a ticket with a number on it etc. I had to fill out the form though, and I got my Tag I can't use it until Tuesday though..

In other news, there's a big furore here, too! Yesterday this Sheik made some very awful comments about women and rapists, which when you get right down to it, is offensive to men AND women. Referring to women as a piece of meat under any circumstances is nasty! I mean, come on! What a terrible thing to say! He says he meant in terms of modesty and stuff, but come on, did he have to make such a comparision? Also, for the men, the suggestion that they have no ability to think as soon as they see a bit of leg or whatever is terrible! Men are humans, they've got brains and they know what's acceptable.

Oh yeah, and I was REALLY offended when he referred to women as "tools of Satan to tempt men", what the Hell? That's not on! Among other things it suggests women aren't good enough, and won't ever get to Heaven or Paradise or wherever it is that Muslims go to after death. That's just mean. Besides whether he meant it or not, those comments can be taken as "excuses" for rapists. As I say, does this mean if a guy is at the beach or gym I can attack him because he's dressed scantily? I don't think they'd buy that!

Well...anyway...I still don't find him offensive as Alan Jones, who's ass I want to kick.

Oooh! Princess Mary is having a baby, I've always been a fan of Prince Frederik because damn me, that guy is hot, I'd totally marry him! But I was on 16 when he came down here to Aus, so no luck there. Oh well, it's nice to see a happy couple on TV.

There was something else on the news I wanted to mention...can't remember what it is now...hmmm...well, anyway back to my day, after I got the E-Tag I caught the bus to Broadway to get some food, I noticed there was a sale at Sports Girl though and decided to go looking for some t-shirts (my current ones are probably five years old by now and worn out) and I found some! Very nice ones too, 100% cotton which M will be glad to hear and in red and green. I will wear one tomorrow to Church and see what Mum says. The shirts were on sale too, so that's doubly good.

Right, and now I think I'll go do some Simming since I don't have to go out after all (Mum said I might have to drive her and Dad around tonight, but my little bro has offered to do instead, yay!

They just showed MJF on the news here, and it turns out the guy who made those comments was a Radio Shock Jock, ugh! Those guys are awful, awful! That Alan Jones I mentioned is one too, they're so offensive! Those jerks should take a step back and think about what they say. I can't believe the guy fully mocked MJF! What an asshole. I do hope people write in and tell that guy what for.

And that's all I have to say about that!

But oh, I found my comb and my deordorant, they were in my bag the whole time...man, I'm an ass, LOL!

Whoops...

Oct. 10th, 2006 06:51 pm
anonymoose_au: (I'd like to be Serious)
6:25pm: Well, I accidentally volunteered to take the rest of the week off (I thought I was only offering to take tomorrow off!), whoops indeed! So, I'm going to call up the Newsletter people tomorrow, I wonder if I'm still with them or if they think I've jumped ship. I aslo have a job interview on Thursday, except it's for a job all the way out in Chatswood, and I'd really rather work in the city, but beggars can't be choosers.

Speaking of which, while I was working today I thought to myself about the schools, there's a crisis in schools, too many kids, not enough teachers and all that, and I wondered maybe I should try and do that degree thing in teacher librarianship. After all, I wouldn't have to deal with that many kids...But then...eh...I should discuss this with my mother (because I completely lack the ability to make up my own mind), I'm going over to have dinner at the parentals tomorrow evening, so I can do it then. Note to self: Must return my library books! I bet they're overdue again, I'm going to have to pay such a big fine!

Cooking sausages for dinner tonight, on the new portable grill thing Dad gave me because my barbeque is dead or at least a cancer hazard- due to my inability to clean it properl)y hopefully I'll be able to clean this one up.

In other news, what do you think of this North Korea business? It's a bit worrying! But I for one find it difficult to take the US's criticisms without rolling my eyes, because they have nuclear weapons. England, Australia and China (apparently?) doesn't, so when we say "Back off, jack" we're not asking them to do any less then what we're doing.

I'm also concerned about the sanctions, I don't like the sound of them at all! After all look what those same sanctions did to Iraq! Saddam Hussien certainly wasn't any worse off, only the people of Iraq were and the people of North Korea are very poor all ready. Of course, that's mostly their own damn government's fault, for been assholes. But it seems unfair to punish the people for what a dictator's doing. Here in Australia we're not letting any North Koreans in! But, what if they're refugees? That's terrible!

I seem to recall North Korea wanting to speak to the US Politicans or whoever, directly, but for reasons I don't quite know, US said "No", maybe they should have, I mean what was the harm? Plus, I can almost agree with Kim L (the dictator) that the US has been threatening them with nuclear weapons, or at least some sort of war type action. But obviously it wasn't going to do any good to set off a nuclear bomb, so the guy is still a moron.

Although I'll say one thing, at least the North Korean Government had the common decency to test their bomb in their own country instead of pulling the shit France did, blowing up theirs in a Pacific Atoll, resulting in cancer and deformities to people living on nearby islands. Still! It could make stuff even worse fo the North Koreans, I hope none of that radiation gets loose.

In short: Nuclear weapons suck.

Today is National Anti-Death Peanlty Day! I just remembered! What a shame no vigil is on here in Sydney, because I'd pop down for it, instead we're having a speech session, which I can't be arse to go to.

But I would like to say that China executes more people then there are days every year! And then sell off their organs to rich people and don't even send the bodies back to the families for burial! What the Hell? I mean, if they want to donate their organs fair enough, but geeze...apparently in China they put prisoners who are going to be executed on TV and then take them out back and shoot them. Which is really creepy...

I'm very disappointed that the Australian Government is doing all this trade with China but hasn't even said anything! Nor has it done much with Indonesia. They did try with Van Nyugen, I'll give 'em that. But we're a bit selective, which is a problem, instead of saying the Death Peanlty is bad, the government says it's bad to do it to Australians, but as for the rest of 'em they can just go hang (or whatever else...). That's hypocrtical and isn't doing Aussies on Death Row any favours.

I wonder if that dude in Iran got my email, and if so they actually read it, or just though "WTF?" Well, it's the thought that counts I say.

Anyway! As I said yesterday I wanted to play Sims 2, so I shall be off to do that now. I may not return... :OP

anonymoose_au: (Oh...Ah...Owww...)
Yes I'm still in pain...and yes I want to register a compliant to the pharmacetical industry for not supply an effective sort of medicine to stop the soreness.

But moving on, great news! yesterday they were all these reports that an Aussie climber had died from hypoxia up on Mt. Everest, the second person this week! However, it has since been reported that he has managed to survive! What good news! 'Cause what a pain, the guy finally climbed all the way to the top and then dies on the way down, that's gotta suck.

But how horrifying! They left him up there because they thought he was dead...but geeze, that must have been a horrible time, I mean he would have been lying there half frozen and shit. Understandably he's having some hallucination and feeling pretty shitty, but wow...it's amazing they managed to find him up there. Gotta thank those Sherpas.

Moving on here's a Quiz I took:

You Are Cyclops

Dedicated and responsible, you will always remain loyal to your cause.
You are a commanding leader - after all, you can kill someone just by looking at them.

Power: force beams from your eyes

Cyclops? Cyclops?! Man, I have a stick up my butt or something? I was hoping for Gambit, damnit (Heh, that ryhmes). Oh well, Cyke's not that bad, but I hear the new movie is pretty shitty...What a worry. :O( My friends are going to see it tomorrow (change of plans), I'm not sure if I'll be able to.

WTFF? I just saw a story on the News about a dude who got convicted of raping a 12 year old, doesn't have to go to jail because he's too short?! What-? He obviously wasn't short enough to attack someone. But him in solitary or under house arrest or something, but don't just let 'em walk around. Besides he's not even that short, he's five foot one, which isn't Little Person status by any stretch (er...no pun intended). The Law is so weird! Someone gets off for this, but if you steal a traffic cone they take you to Juvie Court! (I'm not joking, this happened to my little bro!)

And for further useless shit this Quiz!:

You Should Drive a Jaguar XK 4.2

You don't care how you get there as long as you get there with class.
And having a little power doesn't hurt either!

Hmmm...wonder if a Ferrari was a choice in that, I'd be all over that! Actually, as it is I'd just perfer any new car...I love my red car, but it's damn old and it's freezing in there in the winter and searing hot in the summer. Plus Grandpa was going to give me his car, which is green and that's pretty cool.

And taht's all I have to say at the mo.

Did you know that President Kennedy had Addison Disease? And a VD? And backpain? And was hepped up on steriods, speed and something else I don't remember now.

WTF? I missed that whole thing, why was I not informed? That's shocking! I mean he didn't even take it according to doctor's advice (the steriod type thing, not the speed. Although he was given that by this wack doctor! Looks like Kennedy got his name from the back of the phonebook) that's pretty freaky.

And History Class has lied to me! :Oo It was Kruschev who made the decision that we weren't going to Nuclear War, not Kennedy...weak! Is this show on the up and up? If so, this is quite the scandal!

And did you know Kennedy wore a backbrace? And that's what kept him up in his seat when he was assinated! What a shame...I mean they did say the shit would have hit the fan if he hung around, but still poor guy. I'd be so pissed.

I can't believe I didn'tknow any of this stuff...sounds kinda fishy...what say you?

In other news as it turns out I don't have until Tuesday for one of my assignments, oh great...I suck...I should probably start now, but I'm not in the mood damnit.

Also, why are so many people raggin' on the French? I just saw a post in [livejournal.com profile] thequestionclub where it was asked: "Do you think the French deserved what's happening now?" And I also saw a letter in The Sydney Morning Herald on this. I mean so they didn't go to Iraq? They don't have to and they weren't the only ones selling weapons to those guys anyway.

And my mother called me today to say I left my mobile at her place of work and that she'd bring it home, well she just got back and she left it behind, bah! Humbug! I need that thing...job peoples may call. Which reminds me, I've got to tell her that my Youth Allowance ends at the end of the month, which sucks.

And yeah...that's about all I gotta say about that...

And I'm itchy again...somethings bitten me, argh! Annoying!

Cripes, I think I drank too much water, I feel chock full at the moment.

In other news I shall be going to work on Wednesday, well as longer as they have work for me (fingers crossed) now all I need to figure out is whether I'm going to drive there or catch the bus. I don't have to limp to walk anymore, but my ankle is still pretty weak and I don't want to stomp on the pedals or whatnot.

And ugh! Tomorrow I have to catch up on all my newspapers, oh dear, oh dear...wrings hands a bit. Oh well, them's the brakes I guess.

And now for you viewing pleasure Saturday and Sunday's Memes! )

Quizzies for kicks. )

I'm still extremeley distrubed by the whole kissing your dog thing, I mean letting them lick you is one thing, but letting the tongue in your mouth or your teeth (seriously! I saw this! :Oo)...yuck!

Oh yes, also I hope everyone will keep their minds on the 117 passengers on a Nigerian plane that crashed today, reports are coming through that more than half the people have survived! All things considered this is really good news, hopefully, the nine hour wait won't result in any more deaths.

And yes, the Australian in Singapore remains in big trouble, his mother has appeared on TV begging for people to keep helping. I'm definitely gonna to try and find some way to send a letter of protest. The Sky News poll on this shows a 50/50 spilt on whether people think our Government should have the right to opposed death sentences of our citizens overseas. I wonder if they're really thinking about what the death penalty means, the guy will be dead, and won't be coming back. I sure wouldn't want to sit back on that.

Reminds me though that I heard about a Pakistani dude who got the death penalty for rape...hmmm...I do think they should just let him rot in jail (it was one of those weird "honour" things), but would I write to the Pakanstani Government to say so?...My prejudice comes out! :Oo

Also, in a surprising move, Indonesia has set free an Indonesian found with a whole bunch of ecstacy tablets, which is really pretty suss when you consider an Australian woman found with one tablet is been taken to the cleaners. WTF? Now come on, that looks pretty bad, a lot of people a pretty suss that the Indonesian justice system is seriously corrupt and this kinda proves it. I honestly can't think of how this guy got off...and it doesn't help they don't provide details, how annoying!

And that's the Daily Moose News Wrap! Ponder away on these and now I be off. :O)

Hmmm...yeah...that's all I have to say, marvel at my insights and proclamations!

Job Worries

anonymoose_au: (Mysterious...Mysteries)
First things first Good News! Not only is the new Foxtel Box in and the reception is now clear as a bell, but I got an appointment with the specialist for Wednesday. THIS Wednesday, I had fears that it'd be weeks which would suck majorly because next week is Uni. Of course, this means I'll have to miss some if not all of work depending on what said Specialist says, if its that arthoscopy thing though, I think I may wet myself.

Now regarding the WTF...well as you may remember when I made [livejournal.com profile] the_h_o's journal I decided that I needed to make a friend for him too (why 'cause I'm anal retentive like that). So I did, and you won't believe this, but someones actually made friends with him! No, seriously, look here. Damn, that's some crazy shit, and is something interesting to tell my Writing and New Media teacher when Uni goes back. Does this person actually think poor Ev is real? Surely not! Also sadly this new friend writes GJ entries entirely in netspeak with no capitals. Ah do'h! They do have a seriously amusing icon though. But er...I hope she doesn't think Ev's real...I'm sure the Spider-man reference will tip her off if nothing else.

In other news, David Hicks has become so desparate to get his ass out of Camp X-Ray, he's applied for British Citizenship! If you remember, Britian got all their detainees released, while we here in Aus are just twiddling thumbs. David Hicks has a British mother and under the law he can apply. But alas, will he have any luck?

Honestly the David Hicks issue is just shocking, first of all, it would appear that the US Government has kind have forgotten the Geneva Convention, I swear that said it was illegal to hold anyone for 2 years or more without a charge, and they've only just charged Hicks. Secondly, a number of Army people have spoken with concern about the Military trials, you know when your own side is jumping the ship there's a serious problem!

OMG! This kicks ass! In Poland, identical twins are running! One for President, one for Prime Minister! LOL how cute! Alas, if one wins the other won't take up the position, that kinda sucks. I'd go for it, it'd probably be Guiness Book of Record worthy too. Aaah well.

Anyway, I'm gonna go do some Simming now as my bro is coming over at 9pm and I have to go back to the Parentals, where there are no Simmies at all! :O( so I'm gonna spend these two hours or so wisely!

I'm also have sausages for dinner, haven't had them for aaaages, so this is a most happy afternoon indeed!

Ta ta for now.

Courtsey of my Grandfather, thanks Grandpa!

In other news, the birthday party was good, the cake was super yummy but way too rich for me eat very much and my cousin Mack is really sweet for a toddler! :O)

The only problem, in typical Moose style I proceeded to get lost on the way home and it ended up taking twenty minuts longer, honsetly I have absolutely NO sense of direction! It doesn't help that looking at the map can sometimes do more harm than good because I'm never to sure about which direction I'm facing so I ened up going the wrong dam way.

But now I have a headache so I decided to forgo church and besides that I'm also pretty tired, once again I didn't get enough sleep because my mother has a real gift of waking me up at some ungodly hour. Bah humbugs!

And yeah my mother's gone up to the Central Coast with my Aunt and my brother's gone to Newtown so I have no idea what to have for dinner.

In other news the Government keeps talking about how a terrorist attack could occur here, and finally someone said that it really sucks that the doors of our trains can't be open from the inside. Having seen a doco on a horrible train accident where 13 people died 'cause they couldn't get the doors opened (not even from the outside!) this is a good point. They say that the staff on the train are trained to evacuate passagners, but on the average train there's a driver and guard, what if there's a worse case senario and both are killed...you'd be pretty fucked then.

That aside it's freezing as Hell today with like hurricane winds, some trees came down in fact I think someone was killed, so it was pretty bad. A driver in St Leonards (practically the next suburb) no less! Which makes my worries about driving in high winds not so weirdass after all.

And two boys who went body surfing had to be rescued and treated for hypothermia, who the smeg would go body surfing in THIS weather. I'm inside right now and I really feel like I need to put some gloves on!

And today's also the Anniversary of the Rainbow Warrior bombing by the French! What the-? That's terrible! If the French want to test bombs they can do it in their own contry if it's so safe...that's seriously lame. And a poor photographer was killed in the expolosions, and whilst the Agents who did it can say they 'didn't mean to' that's not much of an excuse.

Besides, have you seen what horrible effects that radiaton had on nearby Attols? I can still remember watching a documentary on it in Year Six, it was awful! }:O( I say nay to France!
My brain is pretty much run off somewhere so I have nothing really constructive to say. Although in the near hour it's taken me to write this (started at 6.19pm) have gone away, which is a plus.

To avoid Short Entry and Utterly Useless Entry Syndrome I'll post this Meme earlier than usual )

Well, I didn't lose the coat on my regular bus...and I can't think of any strange buses two weeks ago that I may have left my coat on. For some reason I'm wondering if I left it in the gold car (the BMW), but surely Dad would have found it by now. He's not that blind!

I feel bad about not going out and doing my papers, but it's almost four pm now and it's pouring out there and like I said I don't think my Travel Ten will cover the trips and just about everyone's on holidays now. But still...

In other news I'm wathcing CBS News on the Sky News Channel, American news is odd, right now they're talking about putting the Ten Commandments in courts and on public property and such, which reminds me of the shock some US Exchange students at my Uni showed when they saw the Nativity scene on the Town Hall a few years ago. To quote "It's a public building! They can't put Jesus on it!" Which actually seems to have happened 'cause last year the Nativity scene wasn't too be seen! But anyway I'd be weary of going the French Route on this issue where you're not allowed to wear anything remotely religious (like a cross or a hajib), which if you ask me is a serious repression of Freedom! I mean it's not like you're trying to convert people just by wearing it you know. But putting up the 10 Commandments on the walls of a court I can see been an insult to the non-Christian/Jewish community. Although do people still swear on the Bible? Or do you just swear on your own honour or something? I know that in our Government we're still supposed to pray before opening 'Question Time' or something, much too the disappointment of the Greens.

Ouch, my sinsuses hurt, what's with that? I'm tempted to think it might be my medication (the orange pills keep me from screaming ;O) But that seems a bit weird...it's probably from staying inside all day, shame on me!

Right now I'm trying to find out how much it costs to transfer a number plate, Mum has declared that we have to sell the red car. :O( Damn! It might be a manual, but it's better than my little brother car. I don't know what he does to it, but the steering wheel is totally shit! Last time I drove it, the wheel shook so much I thought I was going to crash! Mum says that it should be much better since Chris has dropped it off at the Mechanics and it'll be fixed. As I told Mum though, within three months it'll just be broken again.

Or maybe not, because after two whole years of saving to get the money to buy the white car, my parents are now going to buy it back from him! What the-? Man, if I was Burg I'd be so pissed off...then again it does mean he's got 3000 bucks all saved up. Here's hoping like me, he won't blow it all. I had $6000 originally for my World Trip and now I'm down to $3500. Sigh!

But I like my car being red! White is so....so-so and I certianly don't have the money to buy a smart car, or an environmentally-friendly car or any of that.

And I can't seem to find anything...but I think it costs $150, hopefully, there's some weird ass table that has $1000 what the-? :Oo it's just a number plate!

Right now I'm downloading all this Sims 2 stuff, so now I have to make sure I bring it over on the Memory Stick or whatever. Although, it's just occurred to me I shouldn't be downloading because my little bro overdownloaded this month, so everythings slow and I'm not sure if that will cost us more money or something, but I don't think so.

Hmmm....there's not much more to report...except now it's almost five o'clock! And I have to make sure dinner is ready for Mum when she gets home...hmmm...with no money it'll have to be something that's in the freezer...I wonder if we've got fish. Fish is good. :O)

I've been seeing these ads for ending Hunger with children, with Colin Firth! Yay! :O) Although I certainly couldn't be part of that add, because I can't snap my fingers, I can't roll my tongue or wiggle my ears, or whistle, gee whizz I got no talent whatsoever! How lame!

Well, it's almost time for Family Guy! :O)

Ta-ta for now!

Go Tiawan!

So I'm watching Behind the News on ABC at the moment, which explains the nuances of the news for kiddies.

Anyway, poor Taiwan...only 25 countries recognise its sovergnity, in fact (and this surprises me!) the only thing that keeps China from going in hard is the US! Well kiss my butt, that's nice of the US. Although this is a question for us all, what's so important about Taiwan? I mean why does China want it so bad, it's just a little island, is it one of those "I just wanna have this piece of Land, ha ha ha!" things? Same with Tibet actually, which reminds me did you hear about the Dhali Lama doing a back flip over the whole 'Free Tibet' issue! I wonder, was he misquoted, and if not the Tibetan Freedom Fighters must be wondering "What the Hell?!"

Ah well.

Another point of interest: A few days ago, a family of four were found dead in a murder-sucide and the person who committed the murders was the mother! Which brings up the whole Domestic Violence thing, but what I found interesting was the following story on Domestic Violence was focussed on how the perp is always a man, which you know seems a bit ironic in this case! Also there's all these questions about what would drive a woman to do this etc. etc. which seems kind of interesting since if it was the man they'd probably just say "Asshole". Weird stuff.

Hmmm...did you know that when you buy laptops, games consoles, mobile phones etc you may well be contributing to the hunting of endeangered gorillas in the Republic of Congo! Because that's where they mine one of the materials needed for the above, so the miners eat the gorillas while they're out there. Oh dear...poor gorillas! But weird no...who'd have thought that?

Damn, feeling sleepy... I blame my mother who woke me up early this morning to drive her to the Church to drop off the laptop, no respect I tell you. She's told me I can't lie around all day long, despite the fact that she used to say unless I did I couldn't possibly be sick enough to stay home. Hmpf! Confusion!

In case I ever get the nerve up to post a story...on the plus side it now means I can make comments and stuff! Whee, what fun! :O)

Heard on the News: In Virginia baggy pants have been outlawed, due to the obsence sight they bring (and well in defense of the law there's some awful sights one can see!) and if you're found wearing them now you can be fined up to $100! :OD There go the Homeboys...

Hmmm...well that's about all this happened in nearly two hours, but I've just remember that I must call up my friends who are having their birthday in two days and the party in a week so I can figure out what to get 'em. Sad as it is I'm not too good at getting surprise presents, once I had the perfect idea for my Dad, but then I forgot what it was and still can't remember it! Oh, and it's my Dad's birthday next week, and I don't have all that much money yet since they'll be a lag until I'm paid. Oh well, I brought him an Agatha Christie yesterday so that'll do for now, I need to order in the ones I've missed. I forgot to go to the old Newsagency for weeks and they sent all my orders back! :'O( I hope they won't mind calling them back in...because I will buy 'em I wanna know about the crimes.

I'm also trying to figure out what time I have to leave here to get to the church on time, I don't want to leave to early because you know...sitting in a church isn't exactly that much fun also I don't want to be tempted to buy an ice cream or something (it's still rather humid out there) and as previously mentioned that's a big no-no on Ash Wednesday. Which is a bit of a worry because since there was no cereal or bread in the apartment this morning I ate the Tim-Tams...

Ah well...

Also in the News: Another Peace Pact between Israel and Palistine...will it be successful? Will the Sucide Bombers be stopped? Will the Israeli Army stop being so trigger-happy? All of a big interests what with the whole West Bank Question and all. But fingers crossed and here's hoping.

Hmmm, I think I should get going down as I might go by the Pharmacy to get my medicine.
