10:56am: Well, the force of Harry Potter fanfic at least, consider this! I can just see the fangirls lining up to see this play so they can all write about nude Harry Potter. LOL, I'm amused by the fact that Daniel Radcliffe is mentioned as been surprisingly buff, which generally shows up in those HP fics anyway. Now all the fangirls can claim to have done 'research' on the whole thing!

In completely UNAMUSING news this is totally weak, I mean obviously the cops in that Police Department have some sort of mental problem, or else they take the creed a bit too literally. I mean sure if she's broken a law she should be charged, but a little bit of compassion please! Haven't those guys ever heard of Post-Tramautic Stress Disorder? And you can bet this woman won't be trusting the cops anymore. Which, you know, is just what the cops need!

Anyway, I had the most bizzare dream last night! For some reason I was training to be a police officer (I wasn't actually me, but some other character) and we were all blindfolded, stuck on a huge airplane which was sitting in a lake in the middle of China and told to fight our way out before we got blown up. I totally cheated and kept peeking under my blindfold, but my friend, who was also my love interest managed to do it without cheating. Then for some reason, there was this thing the granted wishes and we both seperately wanted to wish that the other person would love us, but then we had to use our wish up saving someone. Then in the end it was New Year's Eve complete with fireworks and a big make out scene.

In amongst all this we were also supposed to be hearding around Japanese abassadors and Audrey Hepburn showed up to sing about the Empire State Building (which had just fallen down).

WTF? I suppose the police officer thing could have come from the fact that 799 of them graduated yesterday and will now be on the streets, and the plane from watch Grumpy Old Holidays, but where Audrey Hepburn, the blind folds, New Years Eve and making out came from? (I also had a Mary Sue like name!)

Anyway, I'm here at the Computer Centre... not much is going on at present, except the internet is slow, which I can't do anything about.

Anywho, I's bored with this now, so off I go!

Whoops...

6:25pm: Well, I accidentally volunteered to take the rest of the week off (I thought I was only offering to take tomorrow off!), whoops indeed! So, I'm going to call up the Newsletter people tomorrow, I wonder if I'm still with them or if they think I've jumped ship. I aslo have a job interview on Thursday, except it's for a job all the way out in Chatswood, and I'd really rather work in the city, but beggars can't be choosers.

Speaking of which, while I was working today I thought to myself about the schools, there's a crisis in schools, too many kids, not enough teachers and all that, and I wondered maybe I should try and do that degree thing in teacher librarianship. After all, I wouldn't have to deal with that many kids...But then...eh...I should discuss this with my mother (because I completely lack the ability to make up my own mind), I'm going over to have dinner at the parentals tomorrow evening, so I can do it then. Note to self: Must return my library books! I bet they're overdue again, I'm going to have to pay such a big fine!

Cooking sausages for dinner tonight, on the new portable grill thing Dad gave me because my barbeque is dead or at least a cancer hazard- due to my inability to clean it properl)y hopefully I'll be able to clean this one up.

In other news, what do you think of this North Korea business? It's a bit worrying! But I for one find it difficult to take the US's criticisms without rolling my eyes, because they have nuclear weapons. England, Australia and China (apparently?) doesn't, so when we say "Back off, jack" we're not asking them to do any less then what we're doing.

I'm also concerned about the sanctions, I don't like the sound of them at all! After all look what those same sanctions did to Iraq! Saddam Hussien certainly wasn't any worse off, only the people of Iraq were and the people of North Korea are very poor all ready. Of course, that's mostly their own damn government's fault, for been assholes. But it seems unfair to punish the people for what a dictator's doing. Here in Australia we're not letting any North Koreans in! But, what if they're refugees? That's terrible!

I seem to recall North Korea wanting to speak to the US Politicans or whoever, directly, but for reasons I don't quite know, US said "No", maybe they should have, I mean what was the harm? Plus, I can almost agree with Kim L (the dictator) that the US has been threatening them with nuclear weapons, or at least some sort of war type action. But obviously it wasn't going to do any good to set off a nuclear bomb, so the guy is still a moron.

Although I'll say one thing, at least the North Korean Government had the common decency to test their bomb in their own country instead of pulling the shit France did, blowing up theirs in a Pacific Atoll, resulting in cancer and deformities to people living on nearby islands. Still! It could make stuff even worse fo the North Koreans, I hope none of that radiation gets loose.

In short: Nuclear weapons suck.

Today is National Anti-Death Peanlty Day! I just remembered! What a shame no vigil is on here in Sydney, because I'd pop down for it, instead we're having a speech session, which I can't be arse to go to.

But I would like to say that China executes more people then there are days every year! And then sell off their organs to rich people and don't even send the bodies back to the families for burial! What the Hell? I mean, if they want to donate their organs fair enough, but geeze...apparently in China they put prisoners who are going to be executed on TV and then take them out back and shoot them. Which is really creepy...

I'm very disappointed that the Australian Government is doing all this trade with China but hasn't even said anything! Nor has it done much with Indonesia. They did try with Van Nyugen, I'll give 'em that. But we're a bit selective, which is a problem, instead of saying the Death Peanlty is bad, the government says it's bad to do it to Australians, but as for the rest of 'em they can just go hang (or whatever else...). That's hypocrtical and isn't doing Aussies on Death Row any favours.

I wonder if that dude in Iran got my email, and if so they actually read it, or just though "WTF?" Well, it's the thought that counts I say.

Anyway! As I said yesterday I wanted to play Sims 2, so I shall be off to do that now. I may not return... :OP

I'm watching Cold Case and tonights episode features a guy been executed by the state despite the fact that the arresting cop was found to be crooked and at least one big piece of evidence was found to be bogus! Now I know it's just a TV show, but I'm sickened! I can't believe any decent, moral human being would allow themselves to be party to such a depraved act as to execute someone. And as this show illustrates if someone is innocent and you kill them you can't take it back...Not ever, it's one thing to jail an innocent person for years and year, it's another to kill them! The justice system is there to...I don't know how to describe it, but it's not for revenge, damnit!

All I can say I hope that anyone who's ever been involved in a Death Penalty Case will take a good hard look at themselves, frankly I get the feeling they won't like what the see. Somone who killed someone for revenge.

This of course reminds me of poor Van Nguyen in Singapore...I still can't believe they did that, it's bloody sick!

And I know that there are criminals so awful you really want to kill them, but you can't give into that! I mean geeze, take the moral highground! Be snooty about it! But for fuck sakes don't become the very thing that you profess to hate. A killer.

6.45pm: Well sort of...as you may or may not know, Frank the Live Journal Goat has his own LJ! See [livejournal.com profile] frank to join in the hilarity. Anyway, long story short Frank sent out a request for icons, and I was feeling icony yesterday so I made 'em one...

And he accepted it! Whoot! I helped the Live Journal Goat with an icon! I feel I've made a contribution to the website...can I have another permanent account for [livejournal.com profile] mooseys_sims? :OP

Seriously because you know once my paid time runs out all the stuff behind the LJ cut will just have the boring bland background, not as fun! Well at least I'll have my own mood icon set, although I had an idea for some icons. Although I'm still annoyed I've got 50 icon spaces I'm not using, man what a waste of 12 bucks US. Aaah well, what can you do?

In other news the new Season of Family Guy is coming here to Australia! Unfortunately it starts tonight at 8pm and my little bro doesn't finish work until 7pm and thus won't be over here in time and I don't get Channel 7 over here for some stupid reason that Foxtel has failed to explain in an easy to understand manner. Oh well, I'll call my friend Zep and ask her to tape it for me and then get it from her on Tuesday. We're going to see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, it's cheap movie night, which is good when you consider how expensive it is now a days.

In further distressing new: Our Prime Minister, typically, will NOT be calling out all the Death Peanlty countries on it, because you know...he's a shithead. This came to my attention because I finally watched the news tonight, I've been avoiding it for the past two days, and the Nguyen's have returned from Singapore, and the Funeral is on Wednesday. It's in Melbourne of course, so even though it's public it's not like I can show up, but having heard that white is the Vietnamese colour of mourning I shall wear all white on that day as a show of support.

Oh and North Carolina executed the 1000th person yesterday, I hope they're happy with themselves, they might wanna look at the bloody gun problem over there, I'm really beginning to get angry at the NRA those crazy dumbasses, they should be ashamed of themselves! }:O(.

http://www.smh.com.au/news/national/vigils-held-in-the-final-hours/2005/12/02/1133422072619.html

I was watching at 9am even though I promised myself I wouldn't, and as the clock turned to 9 and they started ringing the bell, I actually shouted, "NO!" at the TV. Which you know kinda of spoiled the mintue's silence so it was probably good I wasn't at Martin's Place at the rememberance service, because I'd probably have done the same thing.

The only good in that article was that at least his poor mother got to touch his face and hair before he died, I've read that this lack of contact order is tradition for pyschological reasons, I mean, what the Hell? I really can't think of a good reason for that, I don't understand it at all, how many people who have had relatives die unexpectedly say "If only I had got a chance to hug them goodbye." and so on?

When my Grandma died two years ago my big bro and I were able to hug and kiss her goodbye, she died that night though before my little bro could visit, he had to see her after she died, and never got to hug her or say goodbye. :O( I've always felt bad he didn't get to do that, but Chris says he's OK with it. But Grandma was old and sick, God forbid, someone young or healthy close to me dies without me saying goodbye!

So yeah...I had to cry over that, thinking about it, I cried last night too and wondered again about the people who were behind this execution, how do they sleep at night? I kinda found myself wishing that they'd see the faces of all the people they executed every night before they go to sleep and live for a long, long time and see those faces all the time. Which...isn't very Christian of me.

In further good news so to speak all this has forced the Singapore media out and discuss the issue. Did you know that in Singapore the Government owns and regulates the press in an affront to the Fourth Estate? And even worse if four people get together for the same reason to protest it's deemed illegal? So in order to protest they had to go up in groups of two leave candles in front of the prison then hurry away so they wouldn't get arrested? Wow, what beacon of democracy and fairness the Singapore Government is. }:O(

Also, did you know that the Singaporean Government invests heavily in Burma one of the greatest drug producing countries in the world? They're reasoning? By greeting strong economic ties they hope to 'change the Burmese Government's mind.'

Well, gee, WE have strong economic ties with Singapore and we begged them to reverse their decision...how'd that work for us? Burma's not gonna listen to Singapore either, and neither am I. I have joined Amnesty's Anti-Death Peanlty League and the letter writing begins now!

My first email to the Governor of North Carolina who is due to make this man the 1,000th executed man in the US. And then I'm sending one to Governor Terminator in California, who also refuses to grant clemency to this guy despite his sincere attempts to prevent others from committing his crime. Far better that these people stand us an examples as not what to do in their own words than the community sink to the level of legalised murder.

It's a very sad day indeed.
anonymoose_au: (I'd like to be Serious)
When I went down to buy sausages for dinner tonight I spotted some nice heart shapped candles, which I decided to purchase, although a half hour ago I had to run up to the corner store to get some matches to light it (what's the deal with that? I picked up about 20 matches in this apartment a while ago, where'd they all go?), I even have some Holy Water here, it's supposed to be for blessing the apartment, but I haven't got around to it yet.

But yeah I've I put some Holy Water on the candle and lit if for Van Nguyen, I wonder how he's going? Do prisoners really eat their last meals? I think I'd be physically sick if I so much as looked at food...actually I can't fanthom how people can go to their deaths so calmly. If I was on Death Row and they came to get me, I'd kick and scream and just generally carry on, they'd have to knock me out before I'd go. I mean, I'm gonna die anyway, so I may as well fight it.

In other news related to this I'm getting really annoyed with the RSLs attitude about the one minute silence for Van at 9am tomorrow, they're whinging about how it's only suitable for the soliders who died in the Wars. I have no problem respecting our soliders, but this a free country and I'll respect whomever I want. We have minute silences for sports stars who I don't consider heroes, so I can have a minute's silence for a person who is being killed.

Furthering that, I recall some of these RSL people having a hissy fit over Japan's Prime Minister laying a wreath for Japanese War Dead because they were 'barbarians and our enemy.' Well, seeing as this was in Japan they aren't. I'm sure the Japanese don't agree with how our soliders behaved, so if the RSL is going to preach about how only those who protect their country should get a minute's silence they better shut up when other countries are honouring their soliders.

Another thing I find hypocrtical in the extreme are all these people who are saying "It's Singapore's law, we can't interfere." Well, golly! There's never been a bad law in the history of the world, keeping slaves? Been allowed to rape your wife? Selling children? Stoning people, they were all once laws too, but we interfered in them. This year people around the world quite rightly put pressure on Nigeria to stop the stoning to death of a woman who had been raped. Under the laws of that country that was the penalty, so it's OK to bitch about that, but not about Singapore's law 'cause the guy's a dirty drug mule and Singapore is an finacial boon to us?

And lets not forget two countries called Afghanistan and Iraq, who we with the US and the UK invaded, all the while going on about the barbaric laws of the Taliban (remember all that stuff about guys been able to shave their beards?) and Saddam's torture tactics? Well, hey these were laws in those countries too, which were considered soverign nations, just like Singapore. And it looks to me like many of those who want to see Van Nguyen hang are those who support the Iraqi War. I guess only certain nations laws are open to insults, just like only some nations with dictators deserve to be saved (Dafur anyone?).

Well, yeah, just needed to get that off my chest.

And it's now the 2nd of December...in less than nine hours...

If ever there was an eleventh hour granting of clemency let it be now!
anonymoose_au: (I'd like to be Serious)
I just heard on the news that the Singapore Government is going to allow Van Nguyen to touch the hands of his family and friends before his execution tomorrow.

Well...how nice of them.

Not even a hug for his mother, who hasn't committed any crime but will have to suffer for the rest of her life with the knowledge that the Singaporean Government hanged her son. My father just called to discuss the issue further, he told me that he'd heard the absurd claim by the Singaporean Government that they don't allow hugs between prisoners and family because it'll be 'tramatic' for them.

What. THe. FUCK.

The prisoner is about to die, so any trauma they have will be short lived, as for the family the fact that a member is been killed 'legally' is tramuma enough I think. That's just the biggest line of bull-shit I've heard since I saw that God-awful prisoner logo on Changi Prison.

This is awful, it really is, I feel helpless, I mean I know he's going to die and I can't do anything abut it, I feel like I'm watching a drowning man and I'm handcuffed. Honestly, if they sent out a rescue squad to storm the prison and save him, incurring the wrath of that Government I couldn't care less, I really wish they would.

All this has made me think about the Death Penalty a lot, did you know that 76 countries have the Death Peanlty? And that on the list of the twelve worst is the United States, who as I discovered yesterday executes a person every TEN days? Holy shit, I had no idea! I thought it was one person every couple of years or something...but three people every month, that's sick!

What's really shocking is the US once got rid of the Death Penalty then reinstated it several years later! And this is a country that prides itself on been the front of civilisation. Just about every European country has banned the Death Penalty as has Australia, New Zealand, even Mexico! And did you know only 11 of the 50 states in the US don't have the Death Penalty, the rest do! By far the worst offender is Texas, which the apparently Christian George Bush once Governed. Now, I seem to remember reading something in a book called The Bible that said 'Thou Shalt Not Kill' and 'Let he who is without sin cast the first stone' and 'Forgive your enemies.' It's sure nice to see Bush following those edicts so well, as he allowed 159 people to die in his State when it was within his power to stop every single one.

Thankfully two of the 38 states that do use the Death Peanalty declared it unconstitual in 2004 (New York and Kansas by the way), let's hope the rest follow.

Having said this, I don't want people to think I support murders murdering, but the thing is, executing them seems to be playing the game the criminals way, they kill people so we kill them. We lower ourselves to our level, we degrade our morals to pay them back and really we let them win. We do something that we find abhorrent and sickening, we kill someone, even if it's with good intentions (so they don't get out and do it again), we're still giving up something.

I just don't see how the Governments and in particular the executioners live with themselves, what if they made a mistake? What if there really is no excuse for killing someone? What if whatever they believe in holds them guilty after they die and they're sent to Hell?

Also there's this whole deterrent thing, which seems nonsencial in my opinion, people do not commit crimes thinking "Hey, I might get the Death Penalty for this." If they thought that they probably wouldn't do it! I bet if you ask every criminal in jail if they thought about what would happen when they get caught they'll say: "I didn't think I would be caught."

It's rare a criminal who will commit a crime knowing full well he/she's gonna get caught, that's why they put cameras up in public places, that's why screaming often chases off a robber, they're not doing it to get caught, they're doing it to get away with it! Hence, they don't really care if the crime is punished by Death because they assume they're smarter than that.

It's pretty well known that the US has one of the highest crime rates in the western world, whilst their next door neighbour Canada, who doesn't have the death penalty has one of the lowest. But Canada has more social services available, public health care and so on, the lack of this stuff in the US probably contributes a lot to crime. If you're poor and desperate you'll be more inclined to do a lot of bad stuff, but if you can get help you probably will.

So, really what I'm trying to say is the Death Penalty in many ways is the easy route, you kill the person, you don't have to bother with them and there's an 'apparent' sense of satisifcation in having 'sent a message'. But nothing is done to stop the root causes, the gangs, the depression, the guns, the drugs and as long as they keep on the crimse will continue.

Singapore isn't going to convince any drug cartel to stop dealing drugs by mandatory killing people, all the drug bosses are going to care about is they lost such and such an amount drugs, if they cared about their mules they wouldn't be having them swallow condoms full of heroin and whatnot that could burst and kill them in the first place. Countries need to get together to create a group to go after these drug bosses and bring them down, they also need to look at what's behind the high rate of drug abuse. I doubt people would keep trying to sell heroin if no-one brought it.

But still all this doesn't help poor Van Nguen, I pray for his soul and for his family and friends, as well as for those countries who do have the Death Penalty for them to change their minds about this terrible and useless practice.
anonymoose_au: (I'd like to be Serious)
And now onto something that's very sad...and is swift become very infuriating I found out something today, on the gates of Changi Prison where Van Nguyen is to be hanged next Friday there's a sheild with the 'logo' of the prison. Do you know what this logo is?:

Security, HUMANITY and REHABILITATION

What. The. FUCK?!

Humanity? Oh yeah, hanging people is really humane, God damn!

Rehabilitation? Wow yeah, people sure learn their lesson well after they're dead.

About the only thing that's true in that is Secuirty, Van Nguyen doesn't even get to hug his mother good-bye! At lest that's what I've heard...how hideous is that?

Frankly what I thought today is if the Minister of Justice or whatever in Singapore is so sure why doesn't he put his money where his mouth is a do the haning himself! Or at least have the balls to look Van Nguyen in the eye and say. "I believe in this."

I dare him and the Justice Minister of all countries in countries with the Death Penalty to do it...if you're so secure in the position that should be no trouble at all.

And now what's left is to pray for a miracle. I wonder...I remember that a there was a guy they couldn't hang. Like they took him there and put the noose on him, but when they threw the switch the door wouldn't go. Whenever he stepped off it would open, but when he got back on, it wouldn't. They didn't know what to do so basically they gave him a 'Get Out of Jail Free' card! (This was the olden days when you got the Death Penalty for weird things), turns out there was something about his weight on the door that kept if from opening. I wonder what would happen in this day and age if such a thing happened?

Also, what if the hangman (the only guy who will agree to hang people in Singapore) said 'Fuck you' and refused to do it, would someone else really step forward or would they admit defeat?

Personally I think there's a bit loop-hole anyway, the death penatly is automatically given to people who try to smuggle drugs into Singapore to protect it's citizens, but Van Nyugen was not going to drop the drugs off there. Therefore how can they give him the death penalty? No Singaporeans were in danger. I suspect they've all ready tried that...bummer.

And this International Court thing is a joke, you can only go if both parties agree? Geeze, glad it doesn't work like that in the real world nobody would go to jail!

"OK, we wanna prosecute you for drink-driving? Do you agree?

"Fuck no."

"Okay then...well...um..."

I'm not looking forward to next Friday, not at ALL/ :'O(

Please continue to pray.

Incidentally I think continuing to call it Changi prison is highly insulting in itself, in World War II it was a place were thousands of soliders died in cruel conditions, it's a bit of affront to the spirits of all of them. :O(

Well, damn I'm hammered now, must sleep.

You know, I really should call the Discovery Channel, as I mentioned Van Nyugen's execution is set for 2nd December, the day after the Discovery Channel is showing The History of Singapore in what is surely a really bad choice of programming. Honestly, that's just in poor taste...unless he doesn't die. I pray that'll happen! Everytime I see an add on Singapore, and there's quite a few...I feel pretty bummed. Well, bad news indeed.

I only managed to send my and my mother's hand cutouts yesterday to Van Nguyen's friends so they can make a mural out of them as part of their appeal. But all ready the news is bad.

The Government has set a date! 2nd December they're going to hang him :O( and they've sent his mother a letter...charming.

This sucks, I can't believe they'd actually do it...personally I'm thinking of boycotting Singaporean goods, and just generally talking crap about them. Did you know for example you can get like a hundred buck fine for chewing gum over there? What the fuck?

Seriously though, I felt awful when I heard it...poor Van Nguyen.

Doubtless this is a sweeping generalisation but sometimes I think people who support the death penalty and especially those who carry it out have no soul. How can they want to be killers too? No matter what the other person has done you'd still be a killer. There's no way I'd do that...I don't want that sort of responsibility.

I guess all we can do now is pray.

God damnit! My poor Ferrari hat is broken! It must have happened when I threw it on the floor in a fit of rage at my parents...they're lucky I didn't grab the fish bowl (now fishless) and throw it on the floor I was so angry!

But my hat...I loved that hat and now I can't wear it anymore, this sucks!

I feel really bummed out, I've come back here to Newtown and my little bro has gone back home, but I don't feel much better.

Why did my parents have to be so harsh? Do you think they were, or was I just being a baby about it, admittedly I hurt my legs a lot, but I'm the one who suffers most of all. I mean I'm the one who can't walk, I'm the one in pain, I'm the one who have to beg people to help me and look like a damn fool.

Of course, I'm feeling pretty bad because my parents weren't angry with me when I got home and hence they didn't start it. There's nothing worse than starting a fight, especially a fight you know will never be resolved in your favour.

And now, my hat is broken! Not to mention my bottle of nail polish which was in my bag which I also threw. And now it got all over my notebook and shit along with my hands...God damn.

On the plus side, someone has finally won the million on Who Wants To Be A Millioniare here in Australia. Which is cool for him...I wish I had a million bucks, I could get someone to drive my car for me so I could get to work and pay of this apartment and my parents house as well. I hate my parents! They're so horrible to me! They make everything my fault!

Like today, I've just had to walk back home from the Medical Centre, because they couldn't be arsed to pick up their only daughter from it! Just five minutes down the road!

And I didn't even get to see a doctor! And WHY didn't I get to see a doctor? Because my stupid, stupid, STUPID father told me to wait! He told me to go tomorrow, it's what he'd do, and fucking Hell no wonder he's in such bad shape! He never gets medical help until it's too late, now he's got a horribly infected toe and he's asking sympathy for it! Well, it's not MY fault he didn't go and get it checked out as soon as it looked bad, it's not MY fault he didn't tell anyone about it! How are we supposed to give sympathy when we don't even know what's wrong?!

And MUM! She's the worst! She's so selfish, she doesn't care about anyone or anything but herself, God forbid we can't pick her up from work or drop everything to do what she says. But when one of us has a problem, a SERIOUS problem she can't get off her big fat ass to do anything and then blames us!

I was going to go to the Doctor this afternoon as soon as I hurt myself, but like a fool I called her up for her opinion and she said to wait until Dad came home so that he could drive me home-that's a laugh! They never had any intention of picking me up, none whatsoever, so why did they pretend? Unsurprisingly, Dad who's been very busy all day didn't want to, but he told me that if I went up at 6.30 he'd pick me up. That was also a lie! Why did they do that?!!! My ankle is SPRAINED, I can't put WEIGHT on it, why did they tell me to go somwhere and then refuse to pick me up? Don't the understand how much it HURTS?

Apparently they do know and they don't care, they act like this is my idea of a good time, but it isn't, it HURTS! I can't go even go to damn bathroom without my ankle hurting. Using the crutches is just as painful because my knee is still sore.

And worst of all, I'm in big trouble because I don't know how to get to work on Wednesday and I need that money.

I hate my life...all I wanted was a better computer to play The Sims 2, now everything is ruined...I wish I'd never gone to that shop. {:'O{

Based on me!

You won't believe this, I wouldn't believe it if my ankle wasn't hurthing like a mofo...

I was on my way to Uni to do the papers, and I went around some highschool girls who were taken up the path and then...

Wham!

My right foot landed on a bottle (which I didn't see of course) and down I went, spraining my ankle nicely.

The girls offered to help me, but I said I was OK, but getting to my feet I found I really wasn't I couldn't put weight on my right ankle without pain, I had to sit on a wall for a few minutes so the worst of the pain could pass and I could hobble home.

And here I am now, royally screwed!

Work called, they finally have shifts for me, but it's my driving ankle damnit! And my left knee is still hurting me (didn't help I landed on it pretty hard too), meaning basically I can neither drive nor walk.

Thank you very fucking much, God or Fate or even my own lack of concentration.

Which ever it is...

Of course, watching the news about the earthquake in Pakistan reminds me I'm being an asshat, it could be a lot worse, and thank God it isn't.

Still...ow.

Okay, my big bro and I got into a bit of a tiff so to speak and wuss that I am, I did would I usually do in this situation and cried my poor little eyes out and now they hurt like absolutely hell. Owww, owww, owww! Stupid things! But hey they're not even red...what the...?

I have recieved an email from the Independent Writing Project man, who has agreed to see my tomorrow at 2pm, but oh dear he wants me to have a Propsal ready! What the Hell am I supposed to do, I don't have any ideas! Crap...what I am going to do? I don't know if I can think of a novel idea in however many hours it is until I have to have it. Bummer I don't even have a printer here...

Oww, damn eyes...

But the Memes!

3x Thursday

1. Do you have many friends? Why/Why not?

I have a good amount of friends! In fact more than I ever thought I would, although I only see two or three of them often, but it's always cool to get together for a party or what not! As for why, dunno, I'm wierd, and a bit over-talkative...so I often annoy!

2. Could you use more friends? What makes a friend a friend?

Nah! I'm doing well! A friend is someone who you enjoy being with and who is interested in what you're saying and vice versa. :O)

3. What happens when you get into a fight/argument with your friends? Does it usually work out? What happens if it doesn't?

I cry! See above...It usually works out since well most people don't like to see a crying person...particularly me.
I've never dropped a friend because of a fight so I can't say what happens when it doesn't work out.

Bonus Question for Comments: Is it better to have lots and lots of friends, or just a few select people you know you can count on? Why/Why not?

A few select people at least for me because like to be able to talk indepth with people and share things and it seems that would be harder to do if you had so many friends you hardly knew what to do with them!

Thursday Thoughts

Thursday Threesome

::Routine Scheduled Maintenance::
Onesome: Routine-- Tell us about your morning routine. Do you get up at the same time every day, or do you sometimes hit the snooze button on your alarm clock more often than you should? Do you head straight for the coffee or into the shower?

Yeah I have a morning routine, I don't get up at the same time every day, but when I do I usually lay around for a bit then jump on up and head for the shower since that'll wake me up (I don't drink coffee), then I'll have breakfast.

Twosome: Scheduled-- What’s on your schedule for the day? Do you schedule every minute or go with the flow?

Since I work at Uni I have to make sure, and try to ensure I'm there before twelve to do the newspapers every week day, then depending on whether or not I'll have classes I'll either go to those or bum around all day as I don't have another job yet. But I definitely go with the flow generally 'cause I can't plan for shit.

Threesome: Maintenance-- What do you do to maintain your sanity each day in this hectic world? Do you find a little time to yourself each day and meditate, or wait until everyone’s tucked in for the night and log on to the computer or settle down with a book? Or do you run off to the gym and maintain your body while maintaining your mind?

I like to think about stories and stuff I'd be interested in writing about, usually I carry a notebook with me so I can write my stories down. Other times I'll go walking to clear my mind and make sure I do my 10,000 steps a day! I'm happier if I can take breaks throughout the day so the stress doesn't build up too much, otherwise I may explode!

Right, that's the Memes for today...and I think I may turn in since I've got a headache and the eyes are sore...also maybe I'll dream up a good idea for the proposal? Here's hoping!

Step 1: Rename and change the number code of a pre-existing subject to confuse and cause a student whose already taken that course into taking it again!

Step 2: Only put the decent alternative subjects on in one particular semester thus forcing said student to completely screw around with their timetable.

This has happened to me...

This morning I arrive at my Intro to Novel Writing class to find lo and behold I've all ready done this course! I figured it'd be an extension of the Novel Writing Workshop not the same fucking class for God Sake! It had a totally different subject number to! What's the deal with that, if they'd kept it the same I wouldn't have had this problem because it would have denied me entry in the first place!

So once again I'm in Timetable Hell made even worse by the fact that the only subjects currently avaliable are for Screenwriting, which as Austin Powers would say "Isn't My Kinda Bag, Baby." So basically I have to move around my entire subject timetable...and take the subject I planned to take in last sememter (because it sounds pretty intense) the Indepedent Writing Project to this semester, or else screw around with screenwriting.

Damn the 200 Level subjects for basically been shit! I still have to choose one no matter what and they all basically suck ass...I think I'll take Creative Non-Fiction by virtue of the fact it includes stuff about researching for stories...I'm intersted in research I must say.

But if I can't get approval to get into the Indepedent Writing Project I'll be stuck with stupid Screenwriting!

I am SO pissed off that you can only take Genre Writing Workshop once, because I mean they're two different genres! Completely different ones in fact! That's so weak!

Thanks for nothing University of Technology of Sydney!

Moving onto better stuff here's a quizzy from [livejournal.com profile] yay4bitterness

You are a guitar.

You are a musical genius... congratulations. Most people think you are a little obsessed with music, but that's okay. You don't care what other people think. You are independent, and would rather have a few good (and weird) friends than a lot of not-so-good ones. You may feel that people run down your eccentricity, but that's only because they're jealous. You will most likely become very successful with your musical talent. \m/ Rock on!

Most compatible with: Drumstick.

All right! Guitars are cool, my father plays the guitar, but not a rock one, he used to play the Base in his very own band called Skyhooks! LOL those pics are hilarious!

Well, later on today I'm going to meet my friend at her Uni O-Week, and also go and get my pay sheets in so that my Uni will pay me for the first time in a month!

But for now, net surfing it is.

I be pissed off people!

I try to fix up the Subject Clash today, only to discover I have to submit a form by email and it'll take TWO (Business days, I assume) days to fix and Uni starts on Monday!

So I ring up to inquire about this and discover, good news..it's not my fault a lot of other people are having this problem and the phones are ringing off the hook because of it.

But in bad news I have to wait a week to see if I can move! This means missing Class time! And having to bug the teacher for work I missed and stuff and probably getting last dibs on a week to give a presentation. That sucks ass!

Bah! What sort of idiot Adminstration released a possibly clashing timetable a mere three days before the Uni year begins! Duh!

But enough about them onto the chocolate! :O) Courtsey of [profile] yay4bitterness

Yum! Milk Chocolate! I love it! Now, where's my bar of Canbury.

Also this one!

You Belong in Australia

Ace!

Sunny, upbeat, and cute

You make the perfect surf bum

Now stop hogging the vegemite!

...although several questions are hard to answer especially the first one, I'd never get wasted!

But I love Aussieland! Well aside from the Government, just yesterday our Prime Minister decided to commit more troops to Iraq, even after promising he wouldn't! Now that he's in power for three more years with a Senate Majority it's like he can do anything he wants! I don't get how that's democratic? Does Democarcy only come around every three years and if you don't like TF?

What a rip off!

Well, I'm gonna go off and do some more Net Surfing and cleaning of the apartment so I can leave this afternoon after peak hour and the hottest time of day to get the Parentals.

My digestive system continues to hurt like Hell, like its inflamed or something and I'm all out damn Buscopan or that is to say it's over at the Apartment although I could have sworn I brought it along...On the otherhand it really didn't help last night, but I did only take one istead of the two proscribed. I did just get my Youth Allowance so I suppose I could just buy some more at the Pharmacy since this is really quiet painful..

However I don't much care for oversteneous walking 'cause once again my muscles have betrayed me to the extent where it feels like I've sprained my butt! However I went to the Physio today and as it turned out it's my posture that's at the root of it, that only my overly tight muscles. So I have to do these exercises I've been given and I've put reminders in my phone to make sure I do, because you know I get told to do these exercises but once the area stops hurting I forget to them! :O( Very bad for you...I also have to take up some sort of sport, problem is I don't care for joining a tennis team on Campus because you usually have to go in competitions or something and OctoGeorge I ain't.

OctoGeorge: Who is!

Hmpf, I'm not a Cool George either, in fact if Original George and I went head to head he'd kick my ass...

Original George: Oh uh...uh...I don't know...

Believe me buddy, believe me! :OP

Gawd, I wish they'd leave Mr. Habib alone, he's been freed from Camp X-Ray and is most likely innocent and he's lost half his hair...I'm not sure if he was physical tortured, but I bet you that he was Mentally Abused }:O(

Hey good news the parents of Baby 81 has be found through DNA, turns out it was those who tried to take the baby from the hospital and threatened sucide and stuff. Well it's good they've got their kid back, I hope he remembers them! His name is Abbias or something (?)...

Once again before I close I shall say: OOOOOOOOOOOO...GOD...PAIN....

Ok, so this guy is supposed to be suicidal so he drives his 4x4 onto train tracks and waits for death...however, he suddenly decides not to, gets out and leaves his friggin' car there!

He then proceeds to watch as a commuter train plows into his car, derails, hits a freight train then another commuter train going in the other direction causing that one to derail too!

10 people die as a result and 200 are injured, and the guy in question is probably up on Mass Murder charges...

Geeze, he didn't think to move the car out of the way first? I wonder if he tried to help anyone, or just ran off...although he's apparently very remorseful, but I don't think that'll provide much comfort to the families of those killed and those involved. And it wouldn't have made any difference if he had been in the car!

In other news...The Interview went very well I think :O), the woman who interviewed me was really nice and I think I conveyed my interest in getting the position and even had my references in hand thanks to my mother. Although I had a bit of a close call, I left a bit late to get to the building where my mother works and feared that I'd be late! I don't think I was, but if so it couldn't be any more than a minute. However, it was terribly humid today, so I arrived sort of sweaty after a bit of a dash from the train station, luckily I had enough time to sit down and sort myself out.

Anyway I expect the call tomorrow or maybe on Monday, so fingers still crossed people! :O)

I've been working on my Marty bio for my webpage, maybe I should cut down on the pics since it's gonna take forever I'm sure, but eh..."What the Hell?" ;O)

And now my friends...I'm off to play The Sims 2 :O)

What am I going to do?

I tried to return the DVD, but the wouldn't take it, and called my bluff- I claimed that I'd brought it for my bro and he all ready etc and the basically said I'd have to bring my bro's copy in before they'd exchange it.

Of course I didn't buy it for my bro, I brought it for me but the subtitles are AWFUL! They make no sense! Or at least it's very difficult to understand...I discussed this with Mum who said that even though the store had a big sign that said "We Do Not Offer Refunds" that doesn't include DVDs that have God-Awful subtitles. Is this a correct statement? My mother studied law, so she should know, prehaps I should ask my bro, who is studying law right now.

Of course, then I'd have to change my story, how is that going to look? Or should I just bring out the big guns and really start accusing them of selling pirated goods. I swear that cover is a colour photocopy!

I had confrontations with shop people! I actually started crying when the wouldn't take it back, geeze I'm such a wuss...too bad I paid on my card, otherwise I could try sending my bro there or maybe Mum (Mum knows how to put people in their place big time!).

Anyway I'm just wondering if you people think I have a leg to stand on here, or if I should just accept this mistaken purchase and try to sell it on Ebay or some such...

I'm pretty pissed, I really wanted to see this thing, but not if I can't understand what the fuck the characters are talking about- some of us don't know how to speak Japanese and never will. Believe me I tried in school, I was the suckiest student that ever sucked at it.

BUT MR. DARCY TONIGHT WAS FANATASTIC!

Ooooh! I love Mr. Darcy! Colin Firth is DA Man! Despite what some of my friends think (you know who you are!) and he was very amusing especially when he was dunking Hugh Grant in the foutain! :O)

Isn't he a (out of focus) sweetie! :O)

Although unbelievably there was schmoozle at the theatre, where the movie started on the wrong ratio with the lights still on! At first it looked as if we'd have to watch the whole movie with poor Mr. D and co. all stretched and crap, but luckily someone told the projectionists what was wrong and they corrected the ratio!

Damnit! I want my $30 back! I don't want no bad subtitled DVD, I want to get the Edge of Reason album! }:O(
