9:39pm: Well probably more like 10 hours and 56 minutes or something, but yes, I'm reporting live from the airport hotel where Mum, her friend and I are staying, which is a damn good thing because otherwise we'd have to get up at stupid o'clock to get here in time.

I think I've got everything in hand, although the suitcase situation is a bit frambious, I have two wheely suitcases and Mum had the idea of putting one on top of the other, which works well for her because her suitcases are made to do that, mine not so much. We have to use this rubber strap thing to secure one on top of the other and a dropped mine like twice in the short distance between the front of the hotel and our room. Normally, I wouldn't be too worried, but I've got my laptop in the case on top and I was worried that I might crack the screen or something. Fortunately, the laptop bag seems to be keeping it well protected.

The airport hotel is really cool, it has a bar on the top level that overlooks the runway and you can watch the planes taking off and landing. We went up there and watch them for half an hour or so, good times.

We...well I rather had dinner in the bar downstairs, unfortunately, I totally forgot that Sunday surcharges are a thing...which added to the surcharge for credit card made my meal three dollars more than the menu price. Which I guess isn't too bad, but somewhat annoying.

In other news, I didn't actually do the McFly July prompt for today and I don't have time to do the Friday Five either, boo-urns.

I guess I'll catch up on those later, for now though, goodnight!

10:44pm: Right, a successful drive to the airport this morning. Unfortuantely, thanks to a report of an accident in the domestic pick up at that terminal I over estimated how long it would take me to get there. Add to that the fact the plane was late and I was waiting for Mum and her friend to arrive.

Then it was onto work, thankfully, Mum knew of a nearby train station so I was on a train towards Central in no time.

Work at the library was fun today! I do love being among the books and general library related...stuff. (Hmmm, how eloquent)

Tomorrow is the interview! I was a bit worried because they told me they'd send me info on where to go but it hadn't come at lunch, but I've just checked my Gmail and there it is. Phew!

Wish me luck on this people! Heather (my supervisor at the voluntary library work) once did a stint at the library in question. She said the staff was full of crazy persons, LOL, sounds like the place for me!

Biographies

There are so many crappy biographies … would you rather read a poorly-written biography of a fascinating life, OR an exquisitely well-written, wonderful read of one of a not-so-interesting life?

Well, I absolutely love Christopher Hibbert's biography of King George III - who some may say wasn't particularly interesting, except for the crazines. I, however, greatly enjoyed reading about his book collection, his fascination with buttons and just general stuff about him! So I guess, I'd rather read a well-written wonderful read of a not-so-interesting life. Then again all life is interesting in its own way. :OP

Aww don't make me choose! But I guess here's a random selection in no particular order.

1. My friend Ben, who I just spoke to over Skype, he's in the US right now studying medicine. Very cool! :OD Plus he always has interesting and funny things to say.

2. My mother - 'cause hey, she's Mum and looks out for my best interests, which is really great of her. :O)

3. My father - who I totally should have called today because he's sick in bed with pneumonia and my mother's away. I hope the tenant over there got him dinner otherwise I'm not sure what he'd eat! As well as that, Dad is fabulos! :O)

Right, I'm getting sleepy having got up early this morning, so I should probably turn in.

I'm watching Le Tour right now and aaah pedals and pelatons! How I love thee, let me count the ways.

10:53pm: Yes indeed and I'm sure you all needed to hear that, LOL. But yes I do, it's humid as Hell here and I have to wear shorts so...!

In other news, my parents are going to the airport and this means...duh duh duh! The drive. Humbugs...Well, I best bite the bullet I suppose...Face the fear and do it anyway. Still...it's a pain in the ass and somewhat exhausting.

Anywho, today it was back to the library! Good times, good times. I'm reminded that I need to apply for a few library jobs that my mother tipped me off about - she heard from a girl at her work who looks for library jobs too. I haven't heard from the Hornsby Council, which gives me the feeling that I'm not even going to get an interview. Lame.

Political Agendas vs. The People

1. Do you feel that government agendas have become more about political parties and less about what the people want/need?

Here in Australia, yes, it's got rather sad lately. I mean the Labor Party's still preferable to the bloody Liberals, but a lot of the time there doesn't seem to that much difference between them. And the State Government is horrible right now...the alternative onesounds like they'll be just as bad, so we're caught between a rock and a hard place, it sucks.

2. How do you feel about political parties in general? Do you think their time has passed? Why/why not?

Well, I think they're necessary, if everyone was independant things probably wouldn't run very smoothily. Our Government had to be made up with Independents and it took for-bloody-ever to happen! And things are not getting along much at all...But that just could be the Liberal Party being a complete pain in the ass.

3. If you ran a country, what form of government would you choose? Why?

I have no idea...Consititual Monarchy's going pretty well for us here in Australia, so hey, why not go with that.

10:10pm: Indeed! On the News today was the very odd story regarding a man who was attacked by a wombat! A wombat! They may appear to be cuddly in cartoon depictions, but apparently they're totally vicious. Nasty.

In other news, I had to go aaaall the way to Chatswood today just to drop off that damn form, how big of a pain in the ass is that? Not to mention a waste of money and everything...quite rude I thought. Also I forgot my phone so even when I saw my friend driving past and she saw me (she honked the horn) I couldn't call her. Massive fail! I did however get some cheap Easter chocolate at Coles, so that was a benefit!

Tomorrow Mum is coming back from Brisbane and she wants me to pick her up from the airport, the only problem is I've got right off driving, it seems to induce panic attacks in me, but Dad says he doesn't know how to get to the new Airport Domestic Terminal Pick-Up Point, so it looks like we're going to have to go in together. Ah well...

Not much else to report, except I'm struggling valiently on with that assignment, I went to the Online Study site and I'm rather shocked that other people are saying they're having trouble keeping to the word limit! I think I must be doing something wrong! I'm going to have to just grab any old crap to make the count!

Well, when I was a kid in Dubbo, I tried to grow carrots, which never worked. :O( I'd like to be able to grow them, since they're my favourite vegetable.

9:51pm: So I was moseying around the net tonight and I came across this article. Holy cow that baby is HUGE! O.o The kid next to him better watch out or he's liable to get squashed!

So I'm dubbing my tapes now with Airport episodes, wow those immigration people are harsh, I'd be sooo uncomfortable if I got grilled by one of those guys. Although it does remind me...where did I put my passport? And my Birth Certificate...shit.

In other news the immigration centre in Heathrow really needs a new paint job, no need to let it look like shit.

10:03pm: Damn my oily hide if I didn't have another panic attack driving home from my parents' house.

This is extremely irritating when I consider the fact that today I had to pick up my big bro and his wife from the airport and then drive them to the Rocks for something before heading back to the parentals and all that went OK. Seriously, it totally sucks!

I shall have to practice that controlled breathing thing some more, since it seemed to work OK this morning.

In other irritating news my nose is stuffed up again, damn you rogue staph! Damn you to Hell.

I've also just realised why you're not supposed to use antiseptic undiluted, because I just put some on (that horrible chest scratching tendancy of mine!) and holy crap it burns! That was really stupid of me I gotta say. I hope that doesn't make it worse, because that would really suck. Seriously, that shit hurts.

I'm most bummed to say that I've gone over the limit with my internet connection here, I think that means I need to pay $10 extra bucks for this months internet. Dang...especially since I've got all that Off-Peak time left. Damn you, off-peak time...who with a steady job is on the internet in the middle of the night? Ridiculous stuff.

Well, I got up a six this morning (after suffering a calf cramp, what is it with those and the apartment at Newtown? Is there something in the air or water here?) in preparation to leave at 7am for the airport, but I recieve a call from my friend's mother to say the plane has been delayed a bit (ahh, air travel) so she won't be coming in 'til 8.20 and then she's gotta go through customs and such, so it's delayed my leaving by an hour.

Of course been a fan of the airport and planes I could leave earlier, but since my friend's paying for the parking (and it costs a mint) I don't want her to pay some huge amount just so I can see the planes taking off. I am a bit worried I might run into peakhour traffic as I hear the airport road is notorious for that kind of stuff. However, I'm really looking forward to showing off my new numberplates (did I mention those allready ;O), also on the way back we need to drop by the parentals house so I can show her the megaloons and the Garfield balloon! (That reminds me, Garfield appears to have gone AWOL from my friends list, I wonder what happened to him?)

Now my eye is itchy, but I can't touch it, damn you strep bacteria! You get a job!
