9:33pm: Yes indeed! A very exciting moment if I do say so myself when they came out as I watched the Edinburgh Military Tattoo, I thought I saw them on the ad, but you can never be sure. They get better every year I swear.

In other news, I'm sorry to report that no friends will be hanging out with me this New Year's Eve, boo :O( On the other hand at least I don't have to worry about Rox the dog who is with my brother at the moment (although I'm quite sure Mum and Dad didn't think he would be taking her to his apartment. I hope he doesn't get in trouble from the landlord or something), which means I can leave the house without worrying that she might get out or be scared out of her wits by the fireworks.

In the absence of friends, I'm going somewhere new to see the fireworks, hopefully it will be easier because I'll be able to catch the bus all the way there rather than have to walk. Looking at the spot on the map it seems I should be able to see the decoration on the Bridge so fingers crossed there.

Aside from that, not much else to report, I better make sure I'm ready to go so I guess I'll wrap this up here.

Although! I have found a link to modify the My Little Pony app that doesn't make the game ridiculously easy but at the same time no longer screws you over money wise. As Fluttershy would say, "Yay"!

And because the keyboard on this laptop is humongeous pain in the butt I will indeed wide this up here.

I say to you all, Goodnight and a Happy New Year!

You can learn a lot about someone by the music they listen to. So here is the game! Hit shuffle on your ipod or mp3 player and write down the first 25 songs. No cheating or skipping songs that are shameful. That is the fun! Then tag your friends.

There shall be no tagging, do it if you feel like it.

Behold! My strange tastes! )

Whoops, I listened to the whole song as they played and then had an issue where they played all the same songs again, and then I had to have a discussion with Mum etc.

Moving on, the Edingburh Military Tattoo replay is on ABC right now, I love that thing!

Not much else to report at present except I have to get everything together to apply for that library job, wish me luck!

Another update later, probably.

Ta ta for now!

anonymoose_au: (This Calls For A Sexy Party!)
Just returned from the Military Tattoo, it ended at 10pm but it took I'm not kidding two hours to get home at that was by car, seriously Fox Studios parking sucks ass!

Despite the Concert Anxiety it quickly dissipated when I saw the Switzerland Top Secret Drum Corps, they are the best performers I've ever seen! It was so cool, the played each others drums, juggled their drum sticks and marched in all sorts of complicated ways. They kicked ass! And even had 18th Cent type Uniforms! Stockings and such...hee! hee!

Having seen them I wondered about the name, what was so Top Secret? Did they have a website or where they in the special services or what? As it turns out they do have a website! It's in Swiss nevertheless I've book marked it anyway...maybe I can practice my decoding skills (I managed to figure out what a bio said on a website once even though it was all in Spanish...)

See Pics of the Top Secret Drum Corps! )

As it turns out they're not actually in the Army and in fact stared out as Circus Troop, but they've since grown in popularity and what not and are now famous enought to show up in the Military Tattoo, which has been going on for 55 years. Interestingly enough despite been based in Britian the Tattoo has never missed a performance! Cool. :O)

Well, having gone on about that, it's now half an hour later and I'm tired as so I'm off to bed...I need to get up at a reasonable hour anyway, I've been training myself for the return to Uni in a few weeks. Which reminds me, I must call the Uni regarding the newspapers, poke me if I haven't done it yet by noon tomorrow.

(Another point of interest: They were handing out newspapers after the show at the stadium, so I got a copy, took it out and saw that it was 'Tomorrow's Newspaper'! Heh :O)

anonymoose_au: (That Mr. Darcy)
Well that was quick! But wouldn't you know it, now I'm feeling sort of pissy about the fact that I know longer have an excuse not to go...and furthermore it would probably be good to go because like I said thie Edinburg Military Tattoo thing is a really cool thing to see :O). And as they say one shouldn't give in to anxiety as it only makes it worth.

However, I have to drive over there, I hate driving when I'm nervous, but on the other hand last time I tried to catch the bus to Fox Studios I got spectularly lost and it was some time before I got home. I don't much care to end up in that schmoozle at 10pm at night.

I'm also updating to show off my new icon, I've been waiting some time to make a Mr. Darcy Icon :O) Ah...that Mr. Darcy, he rocks!

Hmmm, don't want to suffer from Short Entry Syndrome so what else is there to report? I'm a bit worried about my barbeque it wasn't covered when the storm came in and I'm a bit worried about plugging it in, because water and electricity don't mix as they say. However, I'm a a loss to figure out how to know if it's all right to use or not without doing so...Any ideas?

But regarding the storm, I sure got off lucky, in some other suburbs nearby roof tiles flew off, and streets flooded and trees fell down and stuff, here we just had some problems with the satillite as you could well imagine with all that water and lightning.

And further good news, this huge dumping of rain will eventually drain into the catchment area and bring the dam levels up somewhat, that's a relief! Of course Water Restrictions will continue, they're basically a permanent thing here, which isn't too surprising when one considers that Australia is the driest country excepting Antartica in the world.

However, very bad news last night a school student was killed during the storm when a tree was blown over and landed on her tent! Very sad particularly when one considers the winds weren't that wild at the place in question. Also it was the beginning of the school year and this girl was in Yr. 12 only one more year to go! A freak accident, those always suck.

Hmmm. I guess I better go now, because I need to get ready to head off to the Tattoo and hope this weird dizzy-spell I have right now is computer-screen related ;O)

anonymoose_au: (That time in the Video Store)
Ok, problem, I'm supposed to go the the Edingburgh Military Tattoo in Australia tonight with my mother as I expressed an interest in when it comes on TV...however first of all, I have a tendancy to become inexpliciable, uncontrollably nervous at Concerts (as I once used to do when I had to go anywhere, got over most of it, but the Concert Anxiety remains) and second of all the weather has gone shit...

I mean really shit, it usually doesn't get dark until about seven, but the sky is all ready pretty dark right now...there's been flashes of lightning and stuff. So I called up Mum, but according to her the show will go on...even in the pouring rain. Quite frankly this isn't my idea of a good time...

Oh and it's started pouring down, I mean really coming down...not to mention the fact it's windy, the only thing it's got going for it is that it's not cold, in fact it's pretty humid out there but still I'm supposed to go sit on some wet seat, with wind and rain pelting down on me and an event that all ready makes me nervous? Now come on, I can't be the only one put off by that idea.

But apparently my mother isn't 'cause I've just called her up and she's still interested in going, this while the rain is making it difficult to see across the fucking road! Geeze, it'll be a miracle if we aren't struck by lightning!

Oh, I've been working a bit more on my mood icons (unfortunately I haven't tried making them smaller), and I'm hoping this nice link here will lead the interested to the entire group of icons I've made.

I Love My Mood Icons! I'm sorry, I do! Tell me you love 'em too ;O)
