6:54pm: Indeed! Which is a bit embarrassing because Alexander Downer (an asshat from the old Government) is one. I don't want to be associated with that guy!

But yeah I don't want Australia to become no freakin' republic. Apart from anything else, it seems like a big waste of time. I mean, it's not like the Queen comes down here and takes our money or anything like that. If we go republic we'll have to change all our money - which will cost a heap! And they might change the flag (and believe you me, when they had a competition to design a new flag back during the Republician debate in 1996 - they were horrifying!)

So yeah this seems to be a case of change for change's sake. Like there's no good reason to do it, but it'll make us feel cool.

Won't make me feel cool though! I'll be really sad if we go republic, all our British ties severed! George III would be so bummed!

It's Queen Elizabeth's birthday today actually, she's the oldest British monarch (actually she passed that milestone a while back), but she still has a few more years to go before surpassing the record set by Queen Vic's reign.

I'm reporting all this from my apartment. It's nice to be back although the antispetic I accidentally spilt on the stove the other day stunk the place out.

And alas I was still rather uncomfortable going over the Bridge or not so much the bridge, but the approach to said Bridge. Don't know what that's all about, but I've borrowed some interesting books from Stanton Library on overcoming panic attacks. I'm hoping they'll give me some tips.

In other news, this carrot taste absolutely gross, which is bad because there's still a pack of them left in the fridge. Cucumber doesn't taste that great either... Hopefully the sausages are all right, how long can you keep those anyway?

And I got rid of the milk, I'm not actually sure if it was off, but it tasted kinda dodgy.

The Pope has been in the US this week, and I've found it rather offensive that all the news stations except SBS and ABC here in Aus is providing him with subtitles. He has an ever accent, but it's not unintelligible.

Situation Sunday

Situation # 1
You and a friend are out boating. You are in the river, in the channel. { The channel is the deepest part of the river, that large ships and barges can travel} Your boat is a 24 ft motor boat. The engine for some reason stops and won't start again. Yikes....A large ship is coming up the channel, What do you do?

Pray to Jesus?
Seriously, though I'd probably jump out and swim for it! Or maybe in a boat like that you could sound the horn and shout and wave your arms around to get the other ship's attention. 'Cause this sounds like it'll get bad.

Situation # 2
You hear about a job opening at a local firm. You have excellent credentials. You had one phone interview with the head of the company. Everything went great! He asked you to have a second interview with his Secretary the following day, he would have done it himself but he was to be out of town. You go to the interview and the Secretary happened to be a rival from your old high school. You and her have never got along........you leave the interview feeling like crap. You don't hear from them in a week.......What do you do?

Ass, that sucks! But I'm not sure what you can do. I meann if you call up the Boss to explain you'll probably sound like an immature whinger. And who knows maybe you just weren't suitable for the job, or someone was more suitable. I guess I'd cut my losses. :O(

Situation #3
You really like this person. This will be your first date, a get to know each other. And have invited them over for supper. They arrive and they tell you the food looks awful, "lets skip the dinner, and go expore each other" What do you do?

Ahhh "Get out of my house" comes to mind followed by "And if you don't I'll call the police." Seriously, what the Hell dude! Forget you.

I don't think so, but when I was young and it was legal to buy fireworks in the ACT I went to Cracker Night party where other people set them off.
