It starts here!

Anyway, do travel on over and take a look because the new stupid system of picture naming in The Sims 2, which means instead of all the piccies been in order I have to look through the literally hundreds of photos to find each one. Which as you can imagine is a tremedeous pain in the ass..I should check the Message Board on the site to see if they're planning to do anything about that...

Anyways...now onto the Memes!

FOUR FOR FRIDAY

The Office

Q1: Do you like your office space? Why or why not?

Waaa! I don't have an office space...I used to in the good ol' days of Albert and ITP, it was very nice it was situated at the top of a set of stairs so I always knew if someone was coming so I could stop surreptiously reading. ;O) Also I was out of the direct line of sight of Albert, so I could basically do my own thing..:OD

Q2: Have you ever changed a flat tire on an automobile? If you never have, do you think you'll be able to if and when the time comes?

Nay...in fact I'm so inept a sixty-five year old man came out of his house to help me out while I was waiting for the NRMA for some hours...thankfully the NRMA did show up before he had to do too much work.
On that note, I really don't think I could change a tire, because I'm such a wuss, I don't think I could get the jack to work! Which is a bad thing, because during that NRMA incident I was busting to go and some woman wouldn't let me use her bathroom...you'd think I was an axe-murderer! So yeah, I always have to keep the mobile phone charged at all times in case of this so I can call said NRMA

Q3: Joseph Ratzinger, now known as Pope Benedict XVI, is being characterized by some as a hero to the conservative wing of the Catholic Church, and by others as something of a Darth Vader figure to liberal Catholics. Despite your religious affiliation, how do you feel about Ratzinger's selection as Pope?

Well, he was actually Pope John Paul II's right-hand man! Which is sort of weird, JPII was the sort of dude you couldn't take offence at, the New Pope's a bit different. Has anyone noticed that he smils with his bottom teeth instead of his top? He should work on that because it makes him lok a bit evil. There's been much discussion of that. But since he took the name Benedict the last Pope of that name tried to bring peace during a time of war, which might mean good things with the Iraq War and all.
Incidently though, people should stop picking on him for being in the Hitler Youth because every-frickin'-kid had to join! Unless you wanted to be dead...although you could argue it would have been better not too...very confusing. But the point I'm making is it doesn't actually prove he's a Nazi or anything.
However, as a Liberal type Catholic, particularly on the gay issue, I do wish we'd gotten someone a bit more liberal and questioning of those sections of the Bible.

Q4: A privately supported, not-for-profit membership organization, National Public Radio (NPR) serves more than 750 independently operated, noncommercial public radio stations, each of which serves local listeners with a distinctive combination of national and local programming. Do you listen to NPR? If you do listen to NPR, have you ever made a donation to support its efforts? If you do listen but have never made a donation, do you think you ever will? Why or why not?

Oh so THAT'S what NPR is, I heard Marge mention it one Simpsons Halloween episode (Number four, I think) and I had no idea what it was.
Anyway, I live in Australia and we have public radio, mostly different language radio, sometimes I turn on the Arabic station for the interesting Arabic rock songs. But I don't really listen to the public radio...too much talk not enough old music! ;O)

Friday Fiver

Morning peeps!

1. How many locations (dwellings) have you lived in?

Hmmm, let's see...two houses in Canberra, one in Dubbo, one in England (for two months) and three in Sydney which eqauls (have to count it up...) six (uh duh!). Hmmm...interesting...

2. If you could place your dream home in any location, where would it be?

Hmmm...I dunno, I'd like to live in New York, but it'd probably suck after a while, actually I really like where I live. :O) All I need is a nice big apartment so I can put lots of bookshevles up!

3. In terms of the act of moving: are you a packer or a box mover?

Packer, I've got weak knees and now a bad back, so I ain't lifting anything to heavy!

4. What one item do you own that you absolutely hate to move?

This big ass computer desk is really nice, but I have no idea how I'm going to move this thing...we'll have to dismantle it...what a pain! :OP

5. What's worse: the act of moving or a routine cleaning at the dentist?

Moving, more expensive, takes longer and you don't get the statisfaction of having a clean mouth afterwards! After all you get all that dust and shit over you moving...

Friday Forum

The Colour Purple

1) Do you have any purple clothes in your closet? If so, what items
are they? Do you enjoy wearing the color purple (or shades of it)?

Yes, three purple shirts :O) one a maroon type one, and two that are more my idea of purple. :O) And yes purple is a regal colour! Very nifty, although apparently according to my Grandma you're not supposed to wear purple until you'e 65. Which is just confusing...

2) Do you like the color purple in general? Why/why not? What does the
color purple mean to you (i.e., how would you describe purple and its
connotations)? How does the color make you feel?

Purple rocks! In fact the water bottle I just got is purple and it's one of my favourite colours. :O) As I said purple is a regal colour it's also bold and just pretty in general. It puts a smile on my dial. :O)

3) Name some purple objects that are surrounding you right now (if any).

My purple water bottle, and err yeah that's it...

4) Have you ever eaten any purple foods or had any purple drinks (or
would you)? Why/why not?

Err no, eggplant's not my bag baby...and I prefer water or milk over coloured drinks...but I would eat a cake with purple icing! :O)

5) Would you decorate any part of your home with purple? Why/why not?

Well, not a wall or anything, it's a bit in your face...but a nice set of napkins or plates in purple would be pretty cool...maybe a purple pillow or cushion...yeah that'd look pretty nice.

Friday Fun

Friday Fridays

1. What do you like the most about Fridays?

Ummm...it's Friday? It's a good name, Friday :O) Also it's the beginning of the weekend for most people and the weekend rocks!

2. Do you have a favorite Friday activity? Does it depend on the season?

Sitting on my butt at the computer...which is really much like any other day...although going for a swim during Summer time would be fun. Can't think of anything else at the moment.

3. Tell us about your best Friday!

Errr...there's been so many I couldn't possibly tell you!
Although New Years Eve 2004 was a Friday AND my 21st Birthday! It totally rocked! I got to wear Albert the Tuxedo Dress, get Garfield the balloon and get enough money to pay for my car insurance! Plus there was the fireworks!

Friday Feast

Appetizer
Name something that helps you fall asleep.

Ummm... the sound of silence :O) I find it hard to get to sleep if it's not quiet enough, which I"ve been trying to tell my big bro, but to no avail. I may have to whack him over the head with it...

Soup
Who brings out the best in you?

Hmmmm...I guess my father, he's such a good guy you can't help but be helpful and offer to do stuff when he's around.

Salad
What do you like to do on a rainy day?

See answer #2 of the Friday Fun, aaah computer, cause of my sedentary life style, but I love you anyway! I also like to keep the telly on.

Main Course
Complete this sentence: In our home, we never have enough...

Socks! Well, for me at least! I brought four pairs some time ago, which should be enough to last me a week with the other pair I had, but the damn things have disappeared! What's with that?

Dessert
Which shoe do you put on first?

Right probably, don't know why but when I close my eyes and thing about it that's the show I imagine putting on first.

Friday Q

FQ TOPIC: Pet.

FQ1: Any pets as a kid?

Yes! My beloved Frankie! My little yellow canary, awww, I loved him so! I wish I had another birdie, but I might forget to feed him which wouldn't do at all. Plus how could I clean his cage by myself, with Frankie I used to hold him while Mum did the cleaning.

FQ2: Any pets now?

Well a few months ago my little bro got Quincy and Mr. T the goldfish, but alas they have both since passed on, I don't think the fish bowl was the correct environment for them.
My little bro and parents have a dog, Roxy, I don't really like dogs so...she doesn't count.

FQ3: Name your favorite famous pet from television or movies.

Garfield, of course! Who couldn't love Garfield and his saracstic wit and love of lasagne, yum! I love reading his comics...alas the LJ Feed of it inexplicably ended...I'm still bummed whenever I think of that.

FQ BEST FRIEND: If money and legality were not a barrier, what exotic animal would you like as a pet?

Eh, I'd be wary of keeping an exotic pet, the really deserve the nice big world to play in, but I guess I'd like it if a dolphin would visit me every time I went to my favourite beach. He could still live in the wild, but pop over to visit me as well! :O)

Gimme Three

Who says that??

Who actually says"It's not you, it's me?"

George Canstanza from Seinfield of course! It's his catch phrase!

When they say it, do they really mean it?

Hell no, what I think they mean is "If I were a completely different person, you might be good, but I'm me and you're not good enough..."

Isn't there another equally confusing and meaningless statement that can take it's place?

Err...yeah probably something like: "Don't you think that some relationships in life are fleeting?"
Philosophical though it may be, it clearly means it's all over...

The Friday Nine

1. Word assocation--
I say "fluffy"; you say
rabbit.
I say "pink"; you say puffy.
I say "train"; you say carriage.

2. Which is worse: being trapped in an elevator with ABBA's Greatest Hits on repeat or being stuck on a desert island with Richard Simmons, who's on a permanent caffeine buzz and in the mood to JAZZERCIZE!

Richard Simmons definitely! All have you know I love ABBA, although...the trapped elevator thing is a bit of a problem I'm somewhat claustophobic...And how long would I be stuck in there...
But still...Richard SIMMONS no way...

3. Fill in the blanks: except for Oprah, errrr...someone better than George W. would be my pick for President. (Would Oprah actually make a good President? What's her stance?)

4. On a scale of 1 to 10, how tired are you already of this new pope?

Oh only 2, he's OK...and he hasn't said anything yet! Like some Pope type thing...

5. Name the last two CDs you've bought; now name the first two.

Hmmm...Summer Sunshine and The Best of the Corrs were the last two.
The Simpsons Sing the Blues (well the family as a whole brought that) and Forgiven Not Forgotten by The Corrs.

6. When's the last time you cut your toenails?

Last week I think.

7. What's your favorite sandwich?

Mmmmm...sandwich...chicken. Yum!

8. Your dog has been hit by a car, and to save him a $5000 procedure is required, not to mention the resulting medicines and after-care. Do you spend your savings or have him put to sleep?

Hmmm...will he'll make a full recovery and stuff? Because it might not be fair to him if he can't do anything afterwards...besides I don't like dogs, but that aside, I guess I would save him...but would that be the best thing? Ah so confusing!

9. Have you ever done drag?

Seriously, how does a chick do drag? I mean men but on high heels and dresses and stuff, but lets face it women wear pants all the time! I suppose I could dress up as a real Aussie Yobo...but no I've never done that.

Okay, it's nearly an hour after I started this entry and must lay me down to sleep.

Before I do, I had a really weird dream on Wednesday or Tuesday, in which my family visited John Paul II and we all drove in a Pope-Limo to a Church where the Pope had Communion and did a little jig. Then a coffin in a cart came by, and the cart hit a pothole in the road and all this dirt came out of the coffin.
Then it started to rain so the Pope got back in the Limo and we got him so Gloria Jean coffee. The whole time, I was very excited to see Pope John Paul II, but I kept wanting to say "But you're dead!"

Very odd... and never found out if he had the coffee...
