10:10pm: Good news! I don't have to go to the boring Committee meeting and take the minutes after all! Huzzah! I was really dreading it, because seriously, those things are so boring its unbelievable.

I've just been watching an interesting historical drama about Beau Brummell, a man who once hung out with the Prince of Wales, George III's eldest son. Alas, ol' GIII didn't make an appearance since he sure didn't hang out with anyone his son did (and vice versa).

I don't have much else to say about today, went to work, did work stuff etc.

FOUR FOR FRIDAY

Q1 - Two Birds with One Stone: What two daily, weekly, monthly, seasonal or annual chores would you like to combine into one chore (for instance, cooking dinner and taking out the garbage would be accomplished by just doing one or the other. Likewise, changing the baby's diapers and doing laundry OR showering and shaving--do one and the other happens without you even lifting a finger)?

Hmmm...I'd say...doing the dishes and cleaning my room! That would be so damn good! This place would be clean in no time!

Q2 - Squeamish: What is one thing that makes you absolutely squeamish?

Throwing up, eeek!

Q3 - Effort: Juma Ikangaa, a world-class marathon runner from Tanzania, once said, "The will to win means nothing without the will to prepare." Do you agree?

Well, yeah, if you just show up with no preparation or training there's no way you an win a race! And it would probably go with most other things too. Practice makes perfect as they say.

Q4 - College University: If you went to college Uni, which turned out to be more beneficial to you today: the social experiences in which you participated or the academic training?

Err...I can't really say at this stage. I hardly did any socialising you see...and I haven't really used my degree yet. If I ever get published though, I'll know who to thank! :OP

Friday Fun

Music Edition

1. What were the big names in bands when you were in high school?

Err...I dunno, I seriously didn't care for bands these days...The Corrs and Aqua were around for a while, that's about all I know.

2. Do you still like them, or have your tastes changed as you have gotten older?

Indeed I do! And if I wasn't so lazy I'd get up more often and get the CDs off the shelf and play them.

3. Do you listen to the same music that high schoolers listen to?

Hell no!

4. What is your favorite genre of music?

Old style rock, bring it on!

5. Do you play/have you played an instument? If so, what? If not, if you did, what would it be?

Well, my mother tried to get me to learn the keyboard, but I wasn't too good at it, so that didn't last very long...I'd like to be able to play the violin though.

Friday's Feast

Appetizer
Make up a word and give us its definition.

5. What’s your favorite novelty song?

LOL...hmmm...Macarena, that's a fun one.

The (Other) Friday Five

Many people make a big deal about not being "labeled." And yet, we all are, constantly.

1. Pick one label that you think does describe you (race, religion, hobby, etc.).

Err...crazy. :OP

2. Pick one label that is often put on you, that you really think is inaccurate.

Heartless...or cold, 'cause I don't like dogs...I just don't!

3. Pick one label you wish could be put on you.

Writer! PUBLISHED writer. :O)

4. What is one kind of label that you think is universally wrong to use (race, gender, height)?

Well, the n-word's gotta be the worst.

5. Labels, used intelligently, can be a convenient rhetorical shorthand for identifying how a given person will fit into (or react to) a given situation. Labels, used incorrectly, can be an excuse for dismissing the differences still inherent in the people to whom the label is applied. Discuss.

I'm not doing your homework, dude. :OP

Saturday Special

~Creative Adventure IX~

Time again to use your imagination ;-} Fill in the blanks.

1. While cross-country skiing through an old country trail I notice a light through the trees ahead. Getting closer to the clearing, I see the light comes from an old cottage that looks inviting. I remove my skis and walk up the porch steps and knock on the door when
suddenly from the bushes a huge bear appears, and I jump through window!:

2. I step inside to a cozy living room and sitting in a big leather chair in front of the fireplace is a very strange looking man:

3. He smiles at me and offers me a seat and a cup of hot chocolate. We talk for a bit and a young woman comes to collect the cups.:

4. Happy and warm I thank them both for their hospitality and go on my way, as I turn to wave goodbye I'm surprised to see the bear is hanging around in the yard, being perfectly well behaved.:

Saturday Six

1. If you could receive only the gift of food this Christmas, which single item would you choose?

Hmmm...bread I guess...because yeah you can do a lot of things with bread.

2. Dessert. What’s the first food that just came to mind when you read that word?

Chocolate mousse, yum!

3. What do you eat more of when you’re trying to lose weight?

Never tried to lose weight before.

4. Take the quiz: What holiday food are you?

You Are a Gingerbread House

A little spicy and a little sweet, anyone would like to be lost in the woods with you.

5. When you were a kid, did you ever really leave food for Santa Claus? If so, what was the typical fare you placed near the tree for Jolly Ol’ St. Nick?

Yeah we did! Milk and buiscuts! And they'd always been eaten and slightly drunk by morning. Good stuff.

6. Do you tend to eat more, less, or about the same at Christmas dinner than you do at Thanksgiving dinner?

Don't have Thanksgiving in Australia, by I eat the same on Easter as I do on Christmas.

Situation Sunday

Situation # 1

You are out shopping, you have a small child with you. { Could be yours or a relative, you are watching.} You make it back to the car. Put the child in the back in the car seat. Load all the bags into the trunk. Get in the car and put the keys in the ignition......Suddenly a masked guy jumps into the passengers side,,and says drive lady in a angry voice with a gun pointed at your head.....What do you do?

Go "There's a kid in the car!" What often seems to happen is that even robbers don't want to get kids involved. Although having said that, I shudder to think if he's a pyscho or something, because then he'll probably shoot both me and the kid.

Situation # 2

Time for your family Christmas get together. Everyone is there, from your siblings to their spouses, and children. Every one is told to bring a gift, one that can be given to a male or a female. And everyone is to bring a child's gift, equal to the number of children that will be at the party. The adult gifts are put in a grab bag, where you pull out one, and if it is the one you brought you have the option to keep or pick again. The children's gifts are done the same way. You happen to pick a gift, and it happens to be a "re gift", one that you have bought for your sister a few years ago. What do you do or say as you open the gift?

I've got no idea honestly, really you shouldn't say anything, but I'd probably blurt out "Hey, didn't I give this to you?" LOL.

Situation # 3

A big snow storm is brewing out side. Already a foot of snow has fallen and expecting another foot to come. Your house is out in the country with your nearest neighbor being 5 miles away. Your house is on a back road. The last storm brought only 8 inches, and it took the highway department 1 week before they cleared the roads for you to get out. This storm looks like it will be much longer before you are cleared out. The phone service has went out...you can see where the line snapped. There is a knock on your door, almost like a bang. You open your door to find Teri Hatcher and Johny Depp at your door. They will be staying with you till the storm ends. They were on their way to shoot a movie, got lost and ended up stuck in the snow. They have walked 2 miles in the blizzard to get to your place......{ Keep in mind...after this it will be on the news, and tons of reporters shall be coming} How will you handle the next 2 weeks?

Uh...I've got no idea, it's too late for this crap...I'd probably just hide behind the curtins or something...
