Clinical Placement Day One...
Nov. 3rd, 2014 09:07 pm8:49pm: Well, no-one ended up falling over or anything, but I didn't actually do that much with the bathing and the showering. I did help a couple of residents with their meals, which I guess counts. Not sure what will happen tomorrow.
I certainly haven't discovered a grand love for working in the Aged Care sector, although I guess it's early days...however I was heartened by a library job that appeared in my Gmail inbox! An Inter-library loans technician position! I need to apply for that job pronto. Although, not tonight since it's almost time for bed. I hope I get a better sleep tonight, last night I tossed and turned for like an hour and then woke up at 2am and it took some time before I got back to sleep.
The other thing I should have done pronto is my assignment, I heard back from the teacher who told me to get it in ASAP, but damn it's not going to be tonight...but I didn't really get much time to work on it this afternoon because instead of coming back here to the flat directly, I got a lift from Mum so I'd be able to get to the Salvo's shop to get those ice skates! Yes, I managed to talk Mum into helping me get to the bus stop after work, and a good thing too because when I called up to ask about them the man told me me they were a UK size 6, which is my size! It's fate!
It was a close call though, because despite Mum's lift I missed the limited stops bus and even though she was nice enough to drive me up to a bus stop just before the turn onto the road that goes over the Spit Bridge, I missed yet another bus and had to wait ten minutes for the next one. It wasn't a limited stops bus either although traffic was light most of the way, but still I made it there by the skin of my teeth!
Here they are! They look practically new! I'm rather hopeful I can go to the Macquarie Ice Skating Rink and test them out. It's quite cool I got them today actually because it just happens to be Plushy's birthday today, how appropriate!
Anyway, I better turn in and pray I can get that assignment done by tomorrow afternoon and that I won't get too horribly penalised for my lateness, although since it's graded either pass/fail I don't see how the teacher could.
