Say It Again With Me...Look At The Time!

10:45pm: I have to go to bed soon because work calls tomorrow, and I haven't done any of the memes, booo!
So I better move quick, today was lunch at the parentals, which didn't end up quite as expected because the little bro currently has a cold and therefore didn't come. Plus the parental units were being lazy and my mother hadn't even got up when I arrived! However, there was lots going on, namely after all the talk of cars the parental units were searching online for a good price on the Chery J11 and would you believe it? They found one...in Melbourne and since Mum has a friend who's son lives down there with his family, she and Dad are heading down there by plane tomorrow to purchase said car, hang out with Mum's friend and son and family and then drive the car back!
Damn, that was fast! Although apparently they'd been researching the car issue for some time...the upshot of this is that my little bro and I now have exclusive use of Dad's old car. The downshot is it's a manual, which I can drive, but it can be irritating when stuck in traffic and scary when you're trying a hill start!
But, I need a car at the moment, so I went with Mum after lunch (and the car thing was arranged) to the little bro's place to drop off some left-over Chinese and pick up Dad's car from him. Plus, it gave Mum the chance to see him since she and Dad got back.
Once I had the car I headed off to the gym, since I didn't go on Friday, but I had to skip the stretching because I forgot to give something to Mum for Dad, so I had to do that and then it was off to the pool.
I even managed to go to the Dee Why Grand afterwards to get some stuff from Coles, which necessitated going into the underground parking garage. Last time I took Dad's car down there I had a Hell of a time getting up because of the steep ramp, fortunately, it was the evening so I was able to pretty much floor it up the ramp rather than try a hill start halfway up.
So hey perhaps it won't go that bad. :OP

Magazines
What magazines do you subscribe to? Personal ones? Professional ones? Well, I do get the ALIA magazine as part of my membership, that's a professional magazine for the library sector. I don't always read them though.
Or do you only/mostly pick up your periodicals at the newsstand? I can't really afford magazines plus I'd probably have trouble throwing them out :OP But every so often I will buy one from the newsagency.
How do you feel about digital editions versus print? Well, digital would sure cut down on space issue (I still have a bunch of free mags I got from the newsagency when I used to work there), but there's something about turning magazine pages that's lost that way.

Vacation
When you travel, do you bring one book with you? Or a pile of them? I bring a book, of course! Not a pile, but probably around two or three. Although I have a Kindle so I could probably work with that. However, I haven't been on a holiday for some time...
And, is that pile still a load of paper to lug around? Or do you use an e-book reader like a Kindle or your iPad to help carry the load? (Because, even if you prefer paper, it can get heavy when you’re traveling!) See above.
Do you save the old copies after you read them? Or promptly recycle them? No, I keep my books, although I've tried to stop buying books in the last few years because I'm running out of room! I did end up donating a whole bunch of them to Vinnies last year.

Scattergories Part Five
I got M!
1. What’s a refreshing beverage whose name begins with the letter? Milk!
2. What ailment whose name begins with the letter have you suffered from? Uh...menstural pain (sounds kind of gross when I put it like that...)
3. What horrible creature whose name begins with the letter do you resemble in your foulest mood? A monster? LOL that was kind of easy.
4. What emotion whose name begins with the letter have you experienced in the past week? Uh...gee I dunno...I can think of emotions that start with an 'm' but I certainly didn't experience them!
5. What’s an item in your purse, wallet, or backpack whose name begins with the letter? Money! Specifically, coins! :O)
Saturday 9
:Daddy's Little Man (1969):
1) This song is about an afternoon visit between a father and son. What are your plans for Saturday afternoon? Well, it's a bit late, but church.
2) The lyrics talks about enjoying an ice cream cone. Do you have any ice cream in your freezer right now? I do indeed! Chocolate ice cream, although I've been slacking at eating it lately.
3) Sam's father hates it when she swears. When is the last time you cursed? Probably two seconds ago, LOL, I swear a lot. But out loud...probably a few hours ago.
4) In a recent ranking of movie dads, Mufasa (Lion King) and Atticus (To Kill a Mockingbird) got very high marks. Who is your favorite movie or TV father? I do love Phil from Modern Family and Homer Simpson, although both are a bit dumb, LOL.
5) Sam's own father often traveled for business, and always remembered to bring her the little complimentary soaps, shampoos or body lotion he got from the hotel. When you take a trip, do you bring back souvenirs? Me? Yeah, I guess, something small like a magnet or a pen. Dad likes to take the complimentary soaps, shampoos and body lotion from the Hotel, LOL!
6) Back when Sam was in high school, it was her father who gave her driving lessons. Who taught you how to drive? Mum mostly, and she was a bit hardcore...the second or third time she had me drive over the Harbour Bridge, eek!
7) Sam's own father is easy to buy for: every year he wants a new pair of loafers, so every year for Father's Day she gives him a DSW gift card. Would you rather receive a gift that someone chose, even though it might not be just right, or do you prefer a gift card or cash so you can get exactly what you want? Well, I'm kinda easy to buy for...I just love to get a gift! ;O)
8) For family barbecues, Sam's dad dons his "Kiss the Chef" apron and mans the Weber. What's the last thing you cooked on the grill? Don't have a grill.
9) Sam's father satisfies his afternoon sugar craving with an almost endless stream of Butter Rum Lifesavers. When you crave a snack, do you usually want something sweet or salty? Sweet for sure! Although sometimes I get a hankering for potato chips...
Whoops and now it's almost 11:30 and I actually need to start work half an hour earlier than usual tomorrow so it's time to haul ass even if I do have the car.
Wish me luck tomorrow!
Goodnight all!
