anonymoose_au10:00pm: I managed to leave my new grey beanie - the one from K-Mart that is nice and soft and matches the gloves I also purchased on the bus this morning! Fuck! I went to the mall after work today so I called into the Lost Property office at the Bus Depot near by, but it hadn't been turned in there. The E78 also goes to Mona Vale Depot so I called there, but I only got the message service so I left a description and number, but I haven't heard back.
On the upside, it was only 3 bucks and beyond that I'm helping Mrs S move some more things over tomorrow with the car so I should be able to go to the K-Mart nearby afterwards and hopefully they'll still be in stock. I seem to recall either the beanies or the gloves were in low supply...gulp! Fingers crossed then!
In other news, I haven't had enough zzzs for the last couple of days and it's finally catching up with me because my eyeballs are heavy with sleepiness.
And I was about to type something up and now I've forgot what it was, LOL, fail.

1) In the lyrics, Don McLean refers to having once been a paper boy. When you were a kid, what job or household chores did you do for spending money? My brothers and I shared a paper route along with a pamphlet run when we were teenagers. We didn't get pocket money for household chores, but then we didn't do that many of them.
2) Them good old boys were drinking whiskey and rye. What's the last drink you ordered? Uh...hot chocolate?
3) He drove to the levee but it was dry. When is the last time it rained where you are? Just today!
4) When McLean was working on the song, he wrote the lyrics out in long hand. It took him 16 pages of lined notebook paper. Today it's a laptop/smartphone/tablet world, and Sam can't remember the last time she hand wrote anything longer than a sign on her front door that read, "Bell broken. Plz knock." What about you? What's the last thing you wrote with pen or pencil? Well, I wrote on the donation envelope for the St Vincent De Paul Winter Appeal at church on Saturday.
5) McLean's most recent CD is called "Addicted to Black," in reference to Olivia in The Twelfth Night. Quick! Without looking it up, name another character from Shakespeare. Romeo.
6) Don was born in New Rochelle, New York, which was named one of The Best Walking Cities in America by the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA). What about your neighborhood? Is it easily walkable? Eh...a little bit? There's a few rather steep hills about which makes things difficult, but it's not that bad. :OP
7) In 1971, the year this song was popular, Walt Disney World officially opened. Have you ever been to DisneyLand or Disney World? I've been to Disneyland and Euro-Disney, good times, good times.
8) Also in 1971, Mattel introduced Malibu Barbie. This doll was a "sun-loving California girl" and had a distinct tan. Have you ever used a tanning bed? I certainly haven't, those things give you cancer! Incidentally though, I think I had Malibu Barbie...my first Barbie was decidedly tan, LOL.
9) American Pie is also the name of a 1999 movie. Have you seen it? Bits of it, it's not really my bag to be honest.

1. Would you rather go to a movie or to dinner alone? Dinner alone, probably, if only because I'm not much for seeing movies these days.

9. Would you rather go deep sea diving or bungee jumping? Uh, my gut says deep sea diving...but either would be pretty terrifying for me, I think! But I might be able to deal with deep sea diving better...
10. Would you rather be a kid your whole life or an adult your whole life? Kid, because I really enjoyed school and just the freedom of being a kid.
11. Would you rather go on a cruise with friends or with your spouse? Not having a spouse, I guess I'd have to say friends. :OP
12. Would you rather lose your keys or your cell phone? Keys, if only because the landlords have a spare set that I could get hold of, LOL. Plus I could use my mobile to call for help, LOL.
13. Would you rather eat a meal of cow tongue or octopus? Octopus, cow tongue just sounds too disgusting.
14. Would you rather have x-ray vision or magnified hearing? Hmmm...to be honest I can't really think of how I'd use either of those, but if I had to choose, x-ray vision, I feel like it could be useful.
15. Would you rather work in a group or work alone? Depends on the group and the project! But generally alone, I guess?
