10:24pm: I was just watching a doco on CI Network and one of the people being interviewed was an old timey Texas Ranger type chap who not only conducted the interview in his 10 gallon hat, but was also chewing on a toothpick the whole time. Dude, that's pretty weird...Only in Texas...or something.

In other news, today was busy, not only did I drop off my shirts to get the logo put on them, I also went to to the library and had to make a trip back to the flat to get the key to my parents door at their place so I could get the things they'd forgotten to send to them.

When I got to the flat I discovered the power was off...again! o.O It wasn't because of the cable leading up to my house this time though, it was the fact the antenna had fallen off the main house o.O I was rather concerned, wondering how long the power would be out, but N wasn't in so I couldn't ask him. So I had to eat my sausage cold, change my clothes and then hurry back down to get the bus back to Dee Why.

My shirts look great! And it only cost me $15 which I'm able to claim back on my tax, niiice. Then it was off to the parental units where I found the three things they wanted - although not Mum's additional request for gloves - although she said she might have them anyway - and headed down to the post office. And damn, Australia Post charges you through the nose! $27.45! Bloody rip off. Also...the EFTPOS machine was down so I had to go find an ATM to get money. But in the end the parcel was addressed and sent off, hopefully it'll arrive on Wednesday as the person behind the counter promised.

I ended up having very good luck, despite my Travel App saying the E78 was going to arrive early and I only had 7 minutes to get from Collaroy to Dee Why, the aforementioned bus was arriving across the street and the light went red so I was able to catch it. Yaaay.

However, the power was still off on my arrival home and no-one seemed to be home Mum's friend did ring me but I was in the middle of doing the package and asked her to call me back. I read on my Kindle for a while and then when it got a bit dark inside my flat I went outside still wondering what would happen. I didn't have to wait long, before N popped out of the main house to tell me the power was back on. Relief! Although I did miss the first few minutes of Million Dollar Minute, boo. I haven't caught up yet on Friday's episode, however I should be able to do so tomorrow because the internet's working properly again, yay!

Right and now as I said I'd do last night here's...

Saturday 9

14/3/15

:Mysterious Ways (1991):

1) In honor of St. Patrick's Day (this coming Tuesday), we're featuring one of Ireland's most successful exports, U2. What else is Ireland famous for? Shamrocks! Rolling green hills, the Blarney Stone, Leprachauns!

2) The Dublin studio where U2 recorded this song (and all of Achtung, Baby) is now a music store called Claddagh Records. U2 pilgrims from all over the world travel to the spot (Celia Street, Dublin 2). If we were to visit your neighborhood, are there any landmarks you could direct us to? If you mean my actual neighbourhood...uh...there's not a lot to see...there's the beach in Dee Why, but last time I was there there's was seaweed stinking up the place. If you mean Sydney in general, there definitely needs to be a trip to the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House!

3) Lead singer Bono is rarely seen without his trademark sunglasses because he suffers from glaucoma. How is your vision? 20/20? I had no idea! That's terrible, poor guy. As for my vision, well I need glasses, I had the weirdest experience when I went to the optometrist a few months ago to discover my eyes had swapped over prescription-wise...the one that was -4.25 was now -4.75 and vice versa. The difference wasn't enough to necessitate new glasses, all the same...what's up with that?

4) Bono and wife Alison were married in 1982 and are still together today. Who is the longest-married couple you know? M and Grandpa, who celebrate their 60th Wedding Anniversary tomorrow!

5) When Bono inducted Frank Sinatra into the Grammy Hall of Fame, he applauded the older man's "swagger." Do you think you have swagger? Ha ha ha, no.

6) Bono has been honored by world leaders, including President Obama and Nelson Mandela and the Pope, for his philanthropy. Here's your turn to brag: tell us something you have received praise for recently. Well, apparently my friend Nick heard from a friend of his who happens to live in the same building as Mrs S that Mrs S has been pleased with my work. Yay!

7) Clearly Bono is the most famous member of U2. Who else is in the band? I wouldn't have a clue.

8) On St. Patrick's Day, will you wear green? I did! Although I don't really need an excuse to wear green ;O)

9) Will you enjoy a glass of green beer or maybe a Shamrock Shake from McDonald's? Well, I don't drink and also for all my love of green I can't abide by mint, so no on the Shamrock shake.

21/3/15

:It's Not Unusual (1965):

1) In this song, Tom sings that "it's not unusual to go out at any time." Will you be "out and about" this weekend? I was indeed! See previous entries for details on my sheninigans.

2) Before his music career took off, Tom supported himself and his young family by working as a vacuum cleaner salesman. Could the room you're in right now benefit from a thorough cleaning with a vacuum? Yes, indeed it would, especially the carpet area in the bedroom.

3) You can purchase a verified Tom Jones autograph on eBay for $299 (or the best offer). When you were growing up, did you collect signatures and sayings from your friends? (Autograph book? Yearbook? Cast?) Not as a rule, although I did make my own memory book and got most people in my year and some of the teachers to sign it in Year 12 before graduation.

4) At the height of his popularity, female fans would throw their panties onstage at Tom Jones. Sam can't imagine doing this, and not just because she's not that crazy about Tom Jones. She'd be embarrassed because her underwear drawer could use a serious refresh. If you could choose one new article of clothing to add to your wardrobe today, what would it be? Hmm...I'm thinking I should buy a decent sports bra, but I dunno...I would definitely like to get a new leopard print long sleeve shirt to replace the one that died that matches my shoes.

5) "Tom Jones" is also the name of character in a famous 18th century novel. Tell us about a character from a book you wish you were friends with in real life. That's kind of funny...and I'm not sure...I'd like to hang with Ron Weasley, but I'm not sure he'd like me. LOL.

6) When this song was popular in March 1965, Sarah Jessica Parker of Sex and the City fame was born. Do you share your birthday with anyone famous? Only Rod Stewart.

7) Also in 1965, when this song was a hit, Americans were riveted by the Gemini space program and children all over the country wanted to be astronauts. Think back to your childhood: When you were in first or second grade, what did you want to be when you grew up? Not to grow up! Which was not an achievable goal.

8) Fifty years ago, the most popular headache reliever was aspirin, and you could buy a bottle of 200 tablets for just $1. Do you have any aspirin in your medicine chest right now? Holy shit, that's a lot of aspirin!! O.o And now I don't, I prefer paracetamol or nurofen or something in a capsule form as it's easier to swallow. I might also have been influenced by the fact that Dad wasn't able to use aspirin for years because of a stomach ulcer.

9) Random question: You've just entered a public restroom. Would you rather find a paper towel dispenser or hot air hand dryer? I'm gonna say a paper towel dispenser as long as there's paper towels in it, I hear they're actual better for your hands, unless there's a cold air dryer.
